Jason Momoa as Aquaman is on the latest Cover of Entertainment Weekly
Jason Momoa’s Arthur Curry takes the spotlight on the cover of the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly to promote the release of the next DC Extended Universe movie, Aquaman.
Aquaman made his big screen debut in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice before taking on a much larger role in last year’s Justice League. With a trailer for his first cinematic solo outing expected to be dropping soon, Jason Momoa’s DC Comics hero is on the cover of Entertainment Weekly.
Plot details for Aquaman are currently under wraps. The film centers on Jason Momoa’s Arthur Curry and will dive much deeper into the character’s past as it explores the discovery of his powers and his reluctance to accept his role as King.

Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Patrick Wilson as Orm, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Temuera Morrison as Thomas Curry, Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanna, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko and Ludi Lin as Murk.
Aquaman is set to hit theaters on December 21, 2018.

Phaedra Parks’ ex-husband Apollo Nida may have two years until he’s officially released from prison, but the former Real Housewives of Atlanta star’s fiancée Sherien Almufti is already busy planning their wedding! Sherien shared she’s been busy picking out a dress for her nuptials to Apollo, and the gown will be revealed on this season’s Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta!
Sherien shared a screenshot announcing the June 8 premiere date of SYTTD’s latest season. “Who’s going to watch?” she captioned the post, which was first reported by RadarOnline.com.
“Y’all need to see which beautiful dress I chose,” Sherien wrote. “I know my baby @apollonida03 is going to love it, will you?”
Sherien and Apollo got engaged in November 2016, just weeks after he and Phaedra finalized their divorce. At the time, he was only halfway through his eight-year prison sentence for racketeering charges at Fort Dix Correctional Facility in New Jersey.
Apollo is not scheduled to be released from prison until August 29, 2020. But after serving just half of his sentence, Peter Thomas seems to think that Nida is on his way home. Is it possible Nida could be getting an early release? In a recent Instagram post, Thomas wrote, “My dude is getting ready to come HOME @apollonida03,” along with a pic from Nida’s Instagram page.
According to Atlanta Black Star, the post definitely got fans talking, and most seemed excited about the idea of Nida coming home early, while others remained skeptical.In the meantime, Sherien has made a sport of warring with his ex-wife Phaedra. She previously posted a meme on Instagram that said, “Ex’s always want attention. Sit yo worst mistake a b***h ever made a** down somewhere.”

When we were first introduced to Anika, beautiful and strong, we knew she had to play an important part in the show. If she was with Lucious in any way, we knew that she had to have the guts and the gusto to stick through all the hard things. As the first season rolled by, we saw parts of Anika that were almost frightening. If she could stand up to Lucious and Cookie, then we knew that we had no idea what she was capable of. This was one of the first times when we really saw Anika speak her mind to Lucious, and she did so nonchalantly that it was almost brilliant.

We did a lot of good things I was excited about.”

#BoxOfficeNews: 'Incredibles 2' Delivers Record-Shattering $180 Million Opening Weekend
Disney and Pixar's Incredibles 2 delivered a massive opening weekend debut, not only shattering the previous opening weekend record for an animated film, but finishing with one of the top ten openings of all-time for a film of any genre.
With an estimated $180 million, Disney and Pixar's Incredibles 2 topped the previous opening weekend for an animated film set two years ago by Finding Dory with $135 million. On top of that, the film's opening weekend is the eighth largest all-time, topping the $179.1 million opening for 2016's Captain America: Civil War, which went on to gross over $400 million at the domestic box office. Also of note, this is more than the $174.7 million opening for Disney's Beauty and the Beast, which went on to gross over $500 million domestically. As for Incredibles 2's domestic future, an "A+" CinemaScore and an opening of this size seems to suggest a $500+ million domestic performance is in the offing, which would make it the highest grossing animated film of all-time should it reach that number, topping Dory's $486.2 million domestic run.
Additionally, beyond the records already mentioned, the film delivered the largest opening day ever for an animated title and the second largest June opening ever behind Jurassic World. Added to that, when it comes to the largest opening weekends of all-time, Disney now owns nine of the top ten, the lone standout being the aforementioned Jurassic World at number four.
Internationally, Incredibles 2 brought in an estimated $51.5 million from ~26% of the international market, for a global debut totaling an estimated $231.5 million. As far as the international openings are concerned, the film delivered the largest Pixar opening weekend in several markets including Mexico ($12.3m), Australia ($7.7m) and Argentina ($3m) along with a $5.4 million opening in Russia. The film's international rollout will be staggered, as is typically the case with Pixar titles, with openings in China, Iceland, Croatia, Thailand and India next weekend followed by releases in Brazil (Jun 28), France (Jul 4), UK (Jul 13), Korea (Jul 19), Japan (Aug 1), Spain (Aug 3), Italy (Sep 19) and Germany (Sep 27).

Chris Hardwick’s Show Pulled From AMC, Comedy Festival Drops Him from Lineup
Chris Hardwick‘s signature AMC show, “Talking with Chris Hardwick,” will not air on the network as they take the time to “assess the situation” following accusations of abuse by ex-girlfriend Chloe Dykstra.
“We have had a positive working relationship with Chris Hardwick for many years,” the network said. “We take the troubling allegations that surfaced yesterday very seriously. While we assess the situation, ‘Talking with Chris Hardwick’ will not air on AMC, and Chris has decided to step aside from moderating planned AMC and BBC America panels at Comic-Con International in San Diego next month.”
In addition, the music and comedy festival KAABOO Del Mar 2018 has pulled the comedian from the lineup of their event, which is not until September.
The festival said in a statement, “We have made the decision to pull Chris Hardwick from the KAABOO Del Mar 2018 comedy lineup following detailed accusations of substantial abuse. KAABOO is an experience dedicated to providing a safe community and fostering an inclusive environment for all of our guests, performing artists and comedians, chefs, visual artists and team members. KAABOO does not condone, and will not tolerate, any type of abusive behavior or harassment.”
Hardwick issued a statement on Friday denying the allegations, saying in part, “Our three-year relationship was not perfect — we were ultimately not a good match and argued — even shouted at each other — but I loved her, and did my best to uplift and support her as a partner and companion in any way and at no time did I sexually assault her.”
#RIHANNANAVY: Rihanna Confirms New Album In The Works
Two-and-a-half years after releasing her last album, Rihanna confirmed that her ninth studio album is in the works.
During a visit to “The Graham Norton Show” to promote Ocean’s 8, RiRi was asked about the highly-anticipated follow-up to 2016’s ANTI. “I actually am in the studio and working on new music,” she said to cheers from the audience.
But a release date remains to be seen. When asked if it would be out in time for Christmas, she replied, “You just have to wait and see.”
Joined by her fellow Ocean’s 8 cast members Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Sarah Paulson, and Helena Bonham Carter, Rihanna was also questioned about her “criminal” activity. Paparazzi photos were shown of her leaving clubs and restaurants on numerous occasions with drinks still in her hand.
Ocean’s 8 opened at No. 1 in the U.S. last week and has since earned nearly $80 million in 10 days. The all-female heist caper cost $70 million to make.
Detroit Cancels Ceremony to Rename Street After Michael Jackson
DETROIT (AP) — It seems the late King of Pop won’t get a street named after him in Motown, at least not at this point.
The Detroit Free Press reported Wednesday that a ceremony planned for Friday for Michael Jackson Avenue has been cancelled.
The newspaper says Jackson’s siblings originally were under the impression that the Jackson 5 would be honored with the street name as part of Detroit Music Weekend. But the city prohibits ceremonial street designations for groups or organizations.
Stephen Grady, Council President Brenda Jones’ chief of staff, says the council still plans “to do something for the Jackson 5.”
Four of Jackson’s brothers — Jackie, Tito, Jermaine and Marlon — still are scheduled to perform during the festival.

Actress Jada Pinkett Smith sat down with radio personality Sway Calloway and opened up about her marriage with media mogul Will Smith.
On Wednesday’s episode of “Sway in the Morning” on SiriusXM’s Shade 45, the talk show host asked Jada what the couple will talk about on a future segment of her new Facebook Watch series “Red Table Talk.” The actress replied, “Our very unique partnership that we have.”
Will and Jada wedded in 1997, a few years after the “I Am Legend” actor split from his ex-wife Sheree Zampino who is the mother of Will’s oldest son Trey.

The Queen Oprah Winfrey Signs Content Deal With Apple
More potentially lucrative business moves for Oprah Winfrey. Reportedly, she’s signed a multiple-year content partnership with Apple. The media mogul and streaming company will create original content that will be released as part of the latter’s lineup of content. According to reports, the deal will include film, TV, applications, books and other content that could easily be distributed on Apple.
Her Harpo Films will own any and all content produced under the Apple partnership and the deal is non-exclusive as Winfrey will continue to remain chairman and CEO of Discovery Communications-backed cable network OWN.

Common says Jay-Z And Beyonce’s New Record is All About “Love And Creativity”
As the world knows, Beyonce and Jay-Z, amid their “On The Run II” tour, just released a new album called, Everything Is Love. It’s been a great weekend for fans of the couple, who get to see them perform together live and also get to hear new music from them in a collaborative effort.
And one of their famous cohorts, the rapper, Common, came out in support of the pair’s latest record. According to the rapper, when he was in LA on Saturday night at Craig’s, the rapper said that he gave it a “5-star” review because it was “dope.”
He added, “I love that s**t.” As it was previously reported, Bey and Jay announced the news of their album on Friday night during a concert in London, England.
Following the revelation, many of their fans began downloading it immediately, and Common was one of those people. The rapper explained that the couple managed to bring two critical elements together, “creativity and love.”
Additionally, the latest album features some shots at Kanye West, on two of the tracks, “Boss,” and “Friends.” However, Common, who is a frequent collaborator with Kanye, is obviously not going to get in the middle of that.
‘Ye and Jay are friends and business partners but their personalities are diametrically opposed to each other. Jay-Z has become one of the most successful rappers in the game and has a measured way of conducting himself in public.
‘Marlon’ Stars Host Season 2 Viewing Party During ABFF
There was a private screening of the season 2 premiere of NBC’s Marlon with the show’s stars—Essence Atkins, Bresha Webb and Diallo Riddle. The event took place during the American Black Film Festival (ABFF) and was held at the luxurious 1 Hotel South Beach in Miami, FL.
Marlon follows Marlon Wayans as an attentive — somewhat juvenile — single father who is co-parenting his two young children with his mature and very put-together ex-wife, Ashley, played by Atkins. While his fatherly advice may often be misguided, and he sometimes lets his own outsized personality and unpredictable Internet superstardom get in his way, for Marlon, family always comes first.
