#RHOA: Kandi Burruss discuss the future of Her Friendship With Phaedra Parks!
Sunday was the season finale of Real Housewives Of Atlanta, in a season of ups and downs and crazy sideways directions, which will culminate with an explosive 3-part reunion! Taking a break from new motherhood to dish on all the drama and give a preview of the reunion is Kandi Burrus!
Beginning with the drama in Jamaica, Kandi is relieved she wasn’t because of the negative comments about Kim Fields‘ husband! “I’m glad I wasn’t apart of that. I hate when people talk about my husband so I definitely didn’t want to be a part of anything sayin’ something about hers.”
“I know there was beef between Kim and Kenya [Moore] about the commercial, but Kim, she certainly proved that she knew what she was doing,” adds Kandi. “I loved the commercial. It turned out great.”
Revisiting her issues with Phaedra Parks, Kandi is hesitant to say things are good between the two friends. Instead she admits, “It’s been an uphill battle.”

“It’s so hard being on a reality show and actually trying to have a real friendship, because every time we try to work things out, we’re forced to address situations over again, ” Kandi explains. “Then after we work it out again, we have to watch it on television again, and get mad all over again about stuff that happened months ago.”
“Especially after the reunion. The reunion is gonna be crazy because we really went back and forth,” Kandi sighs.  About that reunion… “It’s gonna be explosive!” Kandi confirms.
“You’re gonna see footage that you haven’t seen,” elaborates Kandi. Like a fight Porsha Williams got into, which didn’t make it onto the show. “Porsha beat up her assistant! In the parking lot behind the Christmas Party,” Kandi tells New York Live. “So you are going to see things about that.”
Another surprise – Kim came out of her shell! “She’s actually, like, being aggressive and dealing with the drama with Kenya. All throughout the season she was so passive. It was too polite. I’m sorry – certain things you cannot just let slide. But she handles it.”
Cynthia and Peter try to recapture the magic, but their romantic date night is interrupted by Noelle. Porsha, realizing she may be single for quite some time, beings the process of freezing her eggs. Kenya and Matt’s relationship continues to blossom when he surprises her with two fur-babies. At Phaedra’s party NeNe and Kandi have a heart-to-heart about why they don’t get along, Sheree learns some surprising things about Bob, and Phaedra is confronted!

Tell Us – Can Kandi And Phaedra Ever Repair Their Friendhsip?

#TEAMEMPIRE: ‘Empire’ Cast, Crew Talk Growing Pains, Diversity And Guest Stars At PaleyFest Opener
A lively audience filed into the Dolby Theatre Friday for PaleyFest’s opening-night Empire panel, with cast including Terrence Howard, Jussie Smollett and Gabourey Sidibe and co-creator Lee Daniels spilling the secrets behind Fox’s soon-returning hit. Taraji P. Henson was the only no-show on the bill, held up by filming commitments in Atlanta. But the crowd was rewarded nevertheless with the premiere screening of the show’s March 30 episode, “Death Will Have His Day,” which picks up all the plot threads left dangling after last year’s hiatus break: the Empire board’s ouster of Lucious, Hakeem’s betrayal and Rhonda’s tumble.

'Empire' TV series screening, Arrivals, PaleyFest 2016, Los Angeles, America - 11 Mar 2016Daniels kicked off the Q&A by responding to host Kevin Frazier’s assertion that the show had turned “a little left” early in Season 2, as its first half stumbled in the ratings. “It was growing pains,” Daniels insisted. “I think it would have happened to any show. Though we remain No. 1, we were learning. Sometimes you don’t feel like it’s enough, and so you bring in this person or that person to bring in some more eyes, but at the end of the day it’s a process, and it’s trial and error. We came back.”

Daniels reflected instead on the broader success that brought Empire to the Dolby Theatre. He marveled, he said, at the way the young cast of the show took to the red carpet press line. “I’m like, ‘Y’all was nobodies last year. Now look at you.’ It’s an honor to see people of color that are not only in the homes of America, but into Brazil and Spain and Italy and London. They’re getting a sneak peek into what it’s like to be in our world. Not only is the show a part of the African-American experience, but I have as my partners white people that are able to tell the story in a universal way.”

Diversity on Empire – in front of and behind the camera – was a recurring theme for the panel, with an audience member asking Daniels to respond to the race controversy that surrounded the Oscars. “I’ve avoided this question for quite a while,” he said. “I don’t have time to deal with racism. Am I delusional to think there’s no racism in America? Look at f**king Donald Trump. But here’s the bottom line: The minute I embrace it, it becomes real to me. I don’t have time to blame Paramount or Sony or Fox. I get my own money, I get my own actors, I write my own script. I don’t want to hear, ‘Woe is me, they don’t treat me right.’ Get off your ass and do it. You’ll always be an outsider because of the color of your skin. This is the way of the world. So kick the door open and don’t take no for an answer.”
Cayman Islands native Grace Gealey spoke to how universal the show’s success has been, “It has transcended countries,” she said. “In the Cayman Islands, the whole country watches the show. It wasn’t just that I was on the show. People could say, ‘I can do that.’”

'Empire' TV series screening, Arrivals, PaleyFest 2016, Los Angeles, America - 11 Mar 2016Daniels said he knew Empire was a hit when he read a Page Six item that suggested Trai Byers was leaving the show. “There’s not a stitch of truth to it,” said Byers, before excoriating the media for not allowing “truth [to] ring louder than lies.”

Given Empire’s impressive guest star roster, it was inevitable that the panel would be asked to chime in with some suggestions. Gabourey Sidibe kicked things off, whispering, “Beyonce, Beyonce, Beyonce…” into her microphone. Various names including Adele, Kendrick Lamar, Prince and Rhianna drew cheers from the crowd. Said Daniels: “We have a few more guest stars coming up, but what I’ve learned, because I’ve never done television before, is that we’re good enough.” Still … “I’m old school, you know. For me it’s about bringing the greats back and introducing you to people that were my inspirations, like Sidney Poitier. We should be so lucky.”

He insisted that was only a dream, but Terrence Howard brought the big scoop: “I found out today that O.J.’s gonna be at the premiere,” he joked. “Sorry. I’m just wrapped up in that O.J. show.

Hip Hop News: LL Cool J Promises Game Changer Record Following Dr. Dre Collaboration
James Todd Smith a.k.a. LL Cool J has made a career of winning at being unpredictable.
In 1995, when he was enjoying one of his many career peaks, he successfully launched a career on television, which would go on to boost his status in Hollywood from cameo maker to leading star. And as of 2009, he has starred on CBS red-hot series NCIS: Los Angeles, which hasn't exactly given him all the time in the world to continue to make music.

At the turn of last weekend however, that unpredictability reared its lovely head as the two-time Grammy winner and five-time Grammy host made a splash on Facebook when he stopped by Dr. Dre's Beats 1 Pharmacy show and blessed the booth with his presence. Its 4.5 million views as of press time speak volumes for how much the people still love the man who ladies still love, especially when he's delving into the aggressive compartment of his rapping repertoire.

The cats over at HipHopDX caught up with LL as he was putting in work during yet another studio session to get the scoop on his recent Dr. Dre session, a reinvigorated verse he says only took fifteen minutes to write.
"Basically my man DJ Pooh had called me up and said Dre was trying to link, you know, just have me come by the [Beats 1] show and say what up, etcetera, etcetera," LL tells HipHopDX during a phone call from the lab. "I just went to hang out and maybe talk and vibe and next thing you know, one thing led to another and we're talking Hip Hop and Dre says "Maybe you do a drop or something," and I'm like, 'A drop? Fuck that!' and then The Good Doctor went and got his laptop and the rest is history," he recalled with a hearty laugh.

"I just love this culture and I love Hip Hop. It's just engrained in my DNA," he admits. "I'm addicted to it and there's no way out for me. It doesn't matter what I do or where I go or what money I make or celebrity—none of that. Nothing ever compares to being in that booth and being on that mic."
Thirteen albums worth of relevancy is an unprecedented number in Hip Hop culture and while LL admits his last project in 2013's Authentic wasn't his best work (or best representation of the culture), he gets excited when asked about the itch to return to pure emceeing and let kids who maybe only know him from TV know his history.

"I got an itch so crazy right now, I need to find a hydrocortisone connect," he continued, with his mind obviously still in punchline mode from the studio session. What I'm going to do is make something for [the fans]." "Like a special record that's really going to be for Hip Hop. I get into experimental mode and I get in my creative scientist mode and I like to do different things. Every now and then, I like to do weird shit. I'm going to give them something special, you'll see. And what it's gonna do is, it's going to change the game because a lot of people are getting away with 25-point games right now and they need someone to drop 50 on 'em. This shit is crazy to me!"
Few pundits will argue that the bar or standard in this day and age has been restructured to allow more variation in rap get a shot at mainstream acceptance but is Mr. Smith aiming to create a new renaissance for lyricists? He actually doesn't feel that is necessary.

"It's really just about putting music out," he says of the notion of "reinventing the wheel," a feat he's actually accomplished in his career.
"I don't have 'bring back' anything. I'm just going to do what I do," he continued. "But I know the Hip Hop culture needs me because their is a void there and people think that just because somebody makes a song that has a female appeal they think that's 'LL Cool J' and when you don't have the real LL to compare it to, it's easy to make those comparisons. So I realize that the game needs me. I'm clear [as to what] it needs from me. It doesn't need me to come in and play games and experiment. It needs me to come in and kick their ass. So I'm gonna do that."
Delaying the G.O.A.T. 2 was strictly LL's doing but now he has the people's ear, don't be surprised if it arrives in the immediate future. He's pretty good at this unpredictable thing.

Ciara & Russell Wilson Celebrate Engagement In Seychelles
Since announcing their engagement on Instagram, Friday, Ciara and Russell Wilson have been enjoying each other’s company and soaking up the sun in Seychelles. Ciara posted a few photos; showing off her toned physique in a gold, and black swimsuit.
The couple also shared a sweet video of them on the beach, in which they both agree that fiancé/fiancée has a nice ring to it. “Girlfriend,” says Russell” – while CiCi follows with “Boyfriend… nah.”
“Fiancé sounds way better,” Russell insists, as Ciara giggles and plants a kiss on his cheek.

Last year, the twosome shared that they’re practicing abstinence in their relationship. “If you can really love somebody without that, then you can really love somebody, the Seattle Seahawks quarterback told San Diego pastor, Miles McPherson, during a Q&A.

Is The ICON Janet Jackson shooting The “Dammn Baby” Music Video?
You didn’t hear it from her lips, but there’s a list of clues we can’t ignore. According to breatheheavy.com Janet Jackson recently announced she’s canceling the European leg of her Unbreakable tour for unknown reasons. In a note to fans, Jackson simply stated “You’re missing me, I’m missing you… I’ll be rescheduling our Unbreakable shows in Europe as soon as I can. Xoxo.” Earlier this year, Jackson was forced to reschedule a string of shows after doctors forced her to rest her voice ahead of mandatory surgery, but not everyone is buying it.

Some say low ticket sales are to blame. It’s time for a pick-me-up. Jackson might have filmed the next Unbreakable music video over the weekend, and all signs point to “Dammn Baby.” Janet Club, a popular Janet Twitter fan account, hinted the shoot. Where there’s smoke, there’s fire. Janet’s choreographer, Luther Brown, posted a photo on a set the same day several of her singer’s dancers were spotted in L.A. at a not-so-secret rehearsal.
As ATRL points out, Jackson’s makeup artist and stylist posted a selfie on set as well, thanking Dave someone named Dave – fans believe he’s referring to “No Sleeep” director Dave Meyers. If that isn’t enough to speculate on, paparazzi caught Jackson touching down in L.A. late last week after spending nearly a month in the U.K. rehearsing for her Dubai World Cup performance on March 26. As long as she shows up in Philly on Aug 24 I’m good….LOL!
