Michael B. Jordan talks His Career, Finding Love and Bill Cosby In DUJOUR Magazine!
Michael B. Jordan is Hollywood's next big thing. He’s gearing up for two epic roles in the superhero film Fantasic Four (August 5th), the Rocky spin-off Creed (November 25th). And that's not it. He recently nabbed a role in a new film titled Just Mercy about a young lawyer fighting to fix the country’s criminal justice system. That’s sounds very interesting.
While surfing the promo trail for his upcoming superhero blockbuster film, the 28-year-old found time to chop it up with DUJOUR magazine about his rise to mega stardom. We first met the Newark, New Jersey native on TV shows such as "The Wire" and "Friday Night Lights," but one of his first roles in his acting career completely changed his life.
Starting out in the biz as a 12-year-old, he was cast for a small role on Bill Cosby’s “The Cosby Show,” starring opposite of the veteran actor (who has been under fire recently for allegedly drugging and sexually assaulting several women). Michael recalls his experience with Mr. Cosby as life-changing which has affected how he approaches new roles today. He said:
“He commanded that set; that was his show. He demanded a professionalism from everyone.” In one instance, Jordan recalls, Cosby helped him learn to embody his character. “He gave me a tick,” Jordan says. “[He said], ‘You care about your hair. You love your hair. You brush your hair nonstop all day. That’s what you do.’ And I was like ‘alright, got it.’ So I brushed my hair. And you’re shooting this thing for hours. Imagine brushing your hair until your scalp is raw.” But it taught him about dedication, and about how far he’d go to deliver a memorable performance, no matter how small the part.
The star then talked about how fans perceive him in real life based on the roles he play. He said,
“It’s so weird, people think they know me based on my character, and I’ve played some pretty good guys,” he says. “I think I’m a good guy, but I have my moments—I’m not a saint at all.” LOL!
During his free time, the Hollywood star revealed he enjoys collecting graphic nocels and obsessing over Japanese anime! Really? News to us. Now we know how to approach him when the time presents itself. We kid.
Speaking of his love life, Michael dished that he’s very traditional when it comes to relationships (major plus in our book!). He said his parents' relationship (who recently celebrated 30-years of marriage) is the blueprint to how he hopes to one day find love. He said,
“My family environment growing up is very much what I want eventually. It gives me hope and a longing for something more than the surface kind of relationships that you have so much. I always use them as a gauge. They were 28 or 29 when they got married. So I have a year… But unless something dramatic goes down, I don’t see that happening.”

Bravo Tosses Sheree Whitfield out the door AGAIN?
Last month I told you Sheree Whitfield was in talks to return to The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast.
Well it looks as if Sheree may just have talked herself out of a job. Sources tell All About the Tea Bravo producers wanted Sheree to film without a contract before making a decision to re-hire her.
Apparently Sheree had other ideas and refused to film for anything less than $200k so producers are moving in a different direction
Beggars can’t be CHOOSEY Sheree!

The Game Being Sued By Dating Show Contestant
The Game's new VH1 reality dating show "She's Got Game" premieres on Monday, August 10th and it's already surrounded in drama. One of the contestants of his dating show is alleging that The Game sexually assaulted her.
Priscilla Rainey, who is suing The Game for $10,000,000, says that on May 22nd, she was shooting a scene in a sports bar when Game (who she says was drunk, high and out of control) forcefully reached his hand inside her dress to rub her bare vagina and butt. "Bare" was her words, not mine.
The details of the suit pretty much stops there. Whether Rainey continued on as a contestant or whether the network will air the alleged assault on the show remains to be seen.
Sanaa Lathan Looks RADIANT in UPSCALE Magazine
With The Perfect Guy on deck to hit theaters next month and Best Man Wedding in pre-production, Sanaa Lathan is a busy gal. She turns 44 next month and is showing no signs of slowing down. Definitely not in the looks department either.
In the new issue of UPSCALE magazine, with the cover and spread shot by Derek Blanks and hair tussled to perfection by Kim Kimble, the hot veteran actor is talking nepotism and celebrity. And yes, she addresses her legendary director father, Stan Lathan.
Check out the cover story highlights below:
On her destiny to act:
"I was a toddler on Broadway, basically. My mom was in the original cast of The Wiz on Broadway. I was always around it, behind the scenes. My father is the first black director in TV. It gets no more in your face than that."
On family ties in business:
"I've never worked with my father. A lot of people say that's nepotism and part of the reason for my success."
On being a "real celebrity":
"I don't feel like a celebrity until I'm doing interviews like this. I walk around in sweats. I'm not always hair and makeup ready, and I have real people around me. That's the key. You can't help but stay in pocket, because real people don't tolerate anything else."
On her next steps:
"I am moving into the behind-the-scenes aspect now. When you've been in the business so long, you say to yourself, "I know how to do this." I know you can never say never, but I'll never stop acting. I'll just keep adding to what the word "performance" ultimately means to me."
The Mag will be onstands soon!
Jamie Bell, Kate Mara, Miles Teller & Michael B Jordan Premiere “Fantastic Four” in NYC!
Stepping out for some promotional duties, the cast of “Fantastic Four” arrived at the Williamsburg Cinemas in Manhattan.
Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara and Jamie Bell all looked to be in good spirits as they smiled for the shutterbugs before heading inside for the big NYC premiere.
Enjoy the pictures from the New York premiere of "Fantastic Four" at Williamsburg Cinemas
Unfortunately, Kate and Michael experienced some less-than-awesome treatment while doing an interview with Atlanta’s Rock 100.5 Morning Show last week, though they handled it wonderfully. The DJ asked, "From what I've seen, you're brother and sister. You're white and you're black. How does that happen?" Jordan replied, "They could be raised as brother and sister. There's a whole bunch of family dynamics that could be without the obvious adoption." Afterwards, Michael told press, "Sometimes journalists use that [studio] room as a safety net to ask questions they never would have asked you outside of that arena.
As actors, sometimes we feel pressure to always say what you're supposed to in promoting a film. We don’t want to bring any negativity toward the positive message [of the film], but we're still people, and still human."

His recovery is coming along quite nicely it seems. Comedian Tracy Morgan was spotted at Tuesday night's Yankee game in the Bronx as the hometeam took on the Red Sox. He had his daughter Maven and fiance Meagan right by his side:
He's got his smile back and is walking without a wheelchair or cane after his horrible car accident he was involved in with a WalMart truck recently. Glad to see him still pushing through and living life.

Fox orders new music drama pilot from Empire's Lee Daniels
Fox is looking to expand its Empire. According to EW the broadcaster just announced a new drama pilot called Star, from executive producer Lee Daniels that could serve as a companion series of sorts to the network’s breakout mega-hit.
“Like Empire, it’s set against the backdrop of the music business but from a very different perspective,” Fox chairman and CEO Gary Newman said. “Set Atlanta, it’s about three girls who come together to form a band and it’s about their rise to the top in a very challenging business. It’s the perspective of the artist and, without getting too much into the storyline, one of our characters is rising out of poverty and there is a a lot from Lee’s own life that’s baked into the DNA of this project.”
The possibility of a cross-over with Empire does exist, Fox chairman and CEO Dana Walden added, but the show is being conceived as a separate entity away from the hit series.
“Lee talks a lot about everything from Dreamgirls to modern-day girl groups that are manufactured, that are put together, that don’t have an organic reason to be together but are tied to each other and that set-up lends itself to a great soap operatic storytelling machine,” Walden said. “Lee loved the mixture of drama and soap and music, and thinks it’s a very potent combo. Love the idea of characters who have inherent talent who rise out of circumstance based on talent, that’s part of the American dream.”

HUH??? DC Man Kidnapped At Gunpoint And Gang Raped By Men In Van
A man was forced into a van and sexually assaulted by a group of men, D.C. police said.
Reports My Fox DC: The victim was walking on 14th Street in Northwest when a suspect with a gun forced him into the van. It happened before dark Friday night in the Columbia Heights area.
He was kidnapped and sexually assaulted, according to authorities.
“It represents a change in what’s going on out here on the streets that we have a group of people who are specifically looking to target, kidnap and sexually assault men. That is a very, very profound event and it’s a change in what we’re used to investigating,” said Delroy Burton, President of the D.C. Police Union.
Police are looking for seven suspects. Only one can be specifically described as a Hispanic man in his 20s, about 6-foot-1, with short black curly hair. He was wearing an orange shirt, gray sweatpants and carrying a gun.
This is the second crime with this pattern in the District in less than a year.
On December 31, 2014, a man was walking nearby businesses in Southeast at 10 a.m. when a van pulled up and four men with guns grabbed him. They drove to another location where they raped him.
“It changes the game as to who needs to be cautious — outside of the correctional facility setting — about sexual assault,” said Burton. “I think before men didn’t even think of the possibility — walking up and down the street — and had to be guarded like we teach women to be guarded, but now that is a possibility.”
Burton said investigators are likely looking at all possible motives, including gang initiations, earlier jail activity and a new breed of sexual predators on the streets of D.C.
Uh Oh? The New Yorker Mag Set to Expose TMZ and Harvey Levin is on Pins and Needles!
The New Yorker magazine is readying a yearlong “aggressive exposé” on the shady tactics of gossip tabloid TMZ.com. The article by writer Nicholas Schmidle has Levin and his bosses at Warner Brothers very nervous, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Levin is allegedly warning staffers both past and present not to speak to Schmidle.
Sources tell THR that The New Yorker is finalizing its own aggressive exposé — more than a year in the works — about the unorthodox reporting tactics of the Warner Bros.-owned TMZ and its controversial founder. Source
And Warner Brothers is anxiously awaiting a courtesy fact-checking phone call from The New Yorker so they can determine what the article will be about.
Levin and TMZ are not often discussed on Time Warner earnings calls, but by most accounts the outlet is said to make tens of millions of dollars for Warner Bros. each year, mostly from the syndicated TMZ newsmagazine television show, which Levin hosts. The former lawyer’s ability to procure court documents, celebrity death and divorce news, sex videos and other unflattering tidbits have led to speculation — especially in L.A.’s legal community, which often grapples with TMZ — that the outlet is paying sources handsomely. Source
One reason why Levin might be nervous is the persistent gossip about his sexual proclivities for certain young men.
The full article will appear in the August 14, 2015 issue New Yorker magazine. Now that’s REAL TEA!
