BREAKING NEWS: NYC Restaurateur, & Former Model B. Smith Is Missing!
Celebrated New York restaurant owner and former model Barbara ‘B’ Smith is missing.
Her husband, Dan Gasby, is asking the public’s help to find her.
Smith, 65, was last seen Tuesday when she took a jitney from Manhattan to Sag Harbor, Long Island.
She never arrived and the bus driver believes she got off the bus in Southampton, CBS 2 reported.
She has no ID or cell phone with her. She was wearing a blue sweater, pink shirt, jeans and black sneakers.
Smith revealed earlier this year that she has Alzheimer’s disease.
“Every hour that goes by she is potentially in more and more danger. Without identification and given her alzheimers, it will be up to the public to find her,” CBS Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Jon LaPook told CBSNewYork.com Wednesday.
Smith discussed the disease In June on CBS News Sunday Morning.
“Even with Alzheimer’s, I think that things are gonna work out,” Smith said in June. “I’m gonna do my best to make it work out for me, and for as many people that I can possibly help, too.”
In 1986, Smith opened a restaurant in New York City, others followed. She hosted a TV program, and put her name on home products.
