Your First Listen: Faith Evans Releases First 2 Songs off ‘The King & I’ Album with The Notorious B.I.G!

It appears that we will fact see Faith Evan‘s collaborative album with her late husband and rap legend The Notorious B.I.G. come to fruition this year. After first mentioning the project in 2014, Evans confirmed the album was in the works in 2016.

Now, two songs from the upcoming album have hit the net. The first, “NYC” finds Faith handling hook duty as a rare verse from Biggie (“Mumbling and Whispering”) is blended over the new track, which also features a new verse from rapper Jadakiss.

The second song, which may be the official single, is titled “When We Party” and features a banging west coast beat, and a feature from Snoop Dogg who trades bars with BIG’s verse from “Going Back to Cali.”

“Today, if he was alive, I know, ultimately, we would’ve done something like this,” Evans told the Dame Dash Radio Show last year. “But the way the stuff has come together, and the way I’m using his vocals, it’s giving the stuff new life, it’s totally different. So I think people are really going to enjoy it.”

There has not been a release date set for The King & I yet. But, check out “NYC” and “When We Party” below.

#RESIST Federal Judge Stays Deportations, Blocking Part Of Trump's Immigration Order!👊

Federal Judge Ann Donnelly in Brooklyn, N.Y. granted a request by the American Civil Liberties Union and issued a stay late Saturday on the deportations of valid visa holders after they have landed at a U.S. airport. The ruling by Donnelly temporarily blocks President Donald Trump's executive order on immigration signed Friday.

"In her order, Judge Ann Donnelly cited "substantial and irreparable injury to refugees, visa-holders, and other individuals" from Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia and Yemen, as well as a strong likelihood that deporting these individuals would violate "their rights to Due Process and Equal Protection guaranteed by the United States Constitution."

The stay will last until a court hearing is held on the merits of this case brought by the ACLU and other legal organizations. It applies to "all people stranded in U.S. airports," according to a statement by the ACLU. They say the stay will affect 100 to 200 people detained at U.S. airports or in transit.

In response to the order, in Chicago, all remaining detainees were freed after being detained by Customs and Border Protection agents at Chicago O'Hare International Airport Saturday. At least 16 people were detained; most had legal status and green cards, NPR's David Schaper reports.

Protesters rally outside Kennedy International Airport to protest Trump's executive order on Saturday. New York City officials and immigrant advocates are holding are also holding a vigil at the airport Saturday evening.

Later Saturday night, Judge Leonie M. Brinkema of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia issued a temporary restraining order affecting 63 people detained at Dulles International Airport outside of Washington, D.C. It ordered authorities to "permit lawyers access to all legal permanent residents being detained" at Dulles, and said authorities are "forbidden from removing" the permanent residents for seven days.

Also Saturday, Judge Thomas S. Zilly of the U.S. District Court of the Western District of Washington at Seattle granted an emergency stay of removal for two people, which orders authorities not to remove them from the country pending a hearing later this week.

Reuters reported that a senior Homeland Security official said roughly 375 travelers were affected by the order: One hundred and nine in transit to the United States were denied entry into the country and another 173 people were stopped by airlines from boarding an aircraft to the United States.

Wendy Williams was the honoree at The Trumpet Awards and she PULLED SHADE and did a NO SHOW!

At this past Saturday's taping of the Trumpet Awards, the audience GAGGED when Wendy Williams' name was called after her honoree presentation and she was nowhere to be found.  The talk show celeb PULLED SHADE on the show all together, and didn't tell the event organizers until less than two days before! So don’t gag tonight when you watch and she’s not there!

Sources tell our friends at TheYBF that Wendy was on 100 with her demands!  Even though the Trumpet Awards organization never gave a flat out 'No' to her requests, they’re told that production thinks Wendy may have felt too much push back during negotiations.  And it may have been one of the nails in the no-show coffin.

Weeks leading up to the taping in Atlanta, Wendy's reps and the event organizers were busily solidifying Wendy's travel plans and everything she would need.  The Trumpet Awards, an annual event celebrating African-American achievements and contributions, were prepared to give Wendy a few backstage passes and 3-4 plane tickets with the usual travel accommodations covered, all for her and her guests.

Wendy wanted to fly in 8 people, bring all 8 backstage with All-Access passes, and she also wanted to bring an entire camera crew with her every step of the way.  It presented a problem for the event staffers as space and resources are tight.  We're told they insisted on trying to compromise with where the cameras could and couldn't go -- especially seeing that their own cameras would be capturing footage for the night.

She also insisted on getting cash as opposed to her plane tickets being booked the standard way, by the event organizers directly, and she also insisted on using her own car service company to the airport in New Jersey.  Trumpet organizers attempted to compromise by requesting she used a cheaper company, but, supposedly, she wasn't having it.

Comedian Gary Owen was set to honor her for the presentation portion, and she wasn't here for that either, yet she didn't give an explanation as to why. HMMMMMMMM!

As one source put it, "It was almost like she was pulling a GRAND DIVA NUMBER — asking for a whole lot and it was all too much."

The final nail in the coffin: According to our source, Wendy's reps called up the event organizers late Thursday night, less than 48 hours before the event, and said “something personal happened and she won’t be able to make it.”

Event reps got Ed Lover to be a part of the presentation in the last hours of production, but apparently it didn't change her mind about coming.

Wendy has yet to mention the Trumpet Awards on her talk show (she does mention it briefly on her Youtube aftershow once).  Perhaps she's waiting until Monday after the show airs.  We hear she did record a Thank You video days later, after much back and forth about it.

Still, event producers are pissed, mainly because Wendy publicized the event beforehand was part of the reason she was being honoured in the first place. UNGRATEFUL BISH!

Serena Williams Defeats Sister Venus To Take 23rd Grand Slam Title!

Tennis star Serena Williams has taken her record-setting 23rd Grand Slam singles title with a win against her sister Venus at the Australian Open Saturday.

The win moves Serena to the top spot in the number of major tennis titles during the Open era, which began in 1968.

It's Serena's seventh Australian Open victory, winning 6-4 6-4 against her older sister. She now returns to the No. 1 spot after losing that ranking in September to Angelique Kerber.

Despite an intense game in the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, the two sisters were all smiles and compliments in the post-match ceremony.

"There's no way I could be at 23 without her," Serena, 35, said of her sister. "Thank you Venus for inspiring me to be the best player I can be."

The last time the two sisters faced off for the Australian Open was in 2003, which resulted in a win for Serena. She now has a 17-11 career record against Venus, which includes a record of 10-5 of Grand Slams, The Associated Press reports.

With a combined age of 71, the sisters made up the oldest women's Grand Slam final. At 36, Venus was the oldest Grand Slam finalist in 23 years.

"I really elevated my game somehow," Serena told ESPN afterward, saying she still thinks she's in the prime of her career. "I really wanted to get to 23 so bad, more than you can imagine" she added.

Emmett Till’s Accuser Recants Part of Her Story😒 60 Years After His Beating Death!

The woman at the center of the Emmett Till murder case has spoken out for the first time, more than 60 years later, admitting that part of her story about the black teenager is false, a new book claims.

Till’s brutal beating death in Mississippi in 1955, the acquittal of his professed killers by an all-white jury and the photos of his dead body sparked outrage outside the state — becoming a catalyst for the national civil rights movement.

Authorities say the 14-year-old from Chicago was killed during a visit to Mississippi after Carolyn Bryant Donham, a white woman then named Carolyn Bryant, reportedly accused him of grabbing her by the hand and waist and acting lewdly at her shop.

Till was kidnapped days later from a relative’s home and then beaten and mutilated, before being shot, by Donham’s shop-owner husband at the time, Roy Bryant, and his half-brother, J.W. Milam.

Till’s body was sunk in the Tallahatchie River, where it was eventually found floating.

After a highly publicized trial, Bryant and Milam were acquitted of Till’s kidnapping and murder in September 1955 by an all-white, all-male jury. They deliberated for an hour.

Donham testified at the trial and, according to Vanity Fair, her allegations were entered into the record and shared with reporters by her attorneys — but they were not heard by the jury, who had been excused from the courtroom.

In January 1956, Bryant and Milam confessed to their guilt in Till’s death in a Look magazine article. (Both men have since died.)

Donham avoided public attention for much of her life, ignoring journalists’ repeated requests. But she sat down with author and Duke University scholar Timothy B. Tyson 10 years ago for his new book, The Blood of Emmett Till, according to Vanity Fair and the Austin American-Statesman.

Donham’s 2007 interview, when she was 72, is being published for the first time. Of her accusation that Till had physically and verbally harassed her, she told Tyson, according to Vanity Fair: “That part’s not true.”

“Honestly, I just don’t remember,” Donham said of her fateful meeting with Till, according to the Statesman. “It was 50 years ago. You tell these stories for so long that they seem true.” Donham’s allegation that Till whistled at her has also been disputed.

On the stand in 1955, however, Donham claimed Till had said something “unprintable” to her and she was “scared to death,” according to Vanity Fair.

Messages left with Donham and her relatives for comment on Tyson’s book were not returned Friday.

Tyson said Donham, now 82, wrote her own memoir, More Than a Wolf Whistle, which is kept at the University of North Carolina but will not be available until the 2030s, at Donham’s request, according to Vanity Fair and the Statesman. (University officials could not immediately confirm the memoir’s existence.)

During their meeting, Tyson said Donham expressed feeling “tender sorrow” for Till’s mother, Mamie Elizabeth Till-Mobley

She said, “Nothing that boy did could ever justify what happened to him.”

KC is back. As she gears up for her upcoming album, Keyshia Cole taps French Montana and Remy Ma for the lead single “You,” which addresses bitter breakups with anthemic empowerment and no-holds-barred bashing.

“Whole squad said you was a ho, though,” sings Cole. “Let Breezy know these ni**as ain’t loyal / Blowing up my phone, turn my phone off / Can’t take no bitch ni**a phone calls.”

Riding with Keyshia is her longtime pal Remy, who provides her own take on the concept. “How you gettin’ hoes, take ’em home, and you wife ’em?” she asks. “It’s really no comparison ’cause I ain’t nothin’ like them / Bestie said, ‘Fuck him,’ I’m like, Don’t get me hyped ’cause at one point, it would’ve been gunpoint, on-sight, bum.”

French Montana follows the ladies with a verse of his own, also admonishing an ex. “A real one hold you down like a real army,” he raps. “But I picked the wrong one like Steve Harvey.” Later, he even adds a political reference. “Your game week like seven nights / Coming with them same lines like Trump wife.”

Both artists were perfect additions to the track, according to Keyshia. “Remy is my girl,”. “That’s my ace there. She’s been supportive during this process and I told her I couldn’t do this album without her. French is the homie so one call, he got on the record, and he did it the next day.”

“You” arrives ahead of Keyshia’s upcoming Epic Records debut 1111 Reset. “I wanted to put [1111] on the album because it’s been everywhere,” she said. “For the past year, I’ve been seeing 1111 constantly and to my understanding, you’re aligned spiritually with your destiny and everything that is meant to be in your life is happening at the right time. The timing is right. Everything is right. Reset is definitely cohesive with that.”

GRAMMY® Award-winning gospel recording artist Tina Campbell has written an open letter to President Donald J. Trump.

The piece published on her official Facebook page Wednesday, Jan. 25, is hopeful and optimistic as it calls for others to join her in praying for our 45th Commander-In-Chief, and to believe that, above all things, God remains in control.

“I understand that Mr. Donald Trump is our new president, not our God,” writes the Mary Mary group member and author of “I Need a Day to Pray.”

She continues, “So as a citizen I choose to have a sensible expectation of him, accompanied by much prayer for him, and a complete dependency on God to work through him, as well as the others that are in office, to secure the welfare of this nation.”

With all of the negative things Trump has said and Mainstream media outlets reporting it. Knowing this man’s rhetoric keeps American citizens DIVIDED. The “Destiny” singer, 42, who is not known for being political, says, rather than feeding into all that, “I choose to opt out of fear of the unknown but rather opt in to hopeful expectation because if God is for us nothing can successfully stand against us.”

So don’t expect to see the Christian WE tv reality star beating the pavement, chanting “Never Trump!” or writing any social media posts with the hashtag #NotMyPresident.

“President Donald Trump is the elected leader of this nation so, as a citizen, I choose to be for him. This is not a statement of agreement with all that has been, nor all that will be,” explains Campbell. “It is a statement of a mature, responsible citizen who knows that a perspective, a strategy, or even a fight based in understanding, love, and a willingness to work together as we move forward, accomplishes more and goes much farther than a strategy based in anger, rage, fear, complaints, utter contempt, constant disagreeableness, and noncooperation.”

The reactions to the California-based Gee Tree Creative CEO’s written declarations so far have been mixed. Some responded on Facebook with an emphatic “amen,” or an indifferent “no comment,” while others posted more lengthy reactions both in favor of and in opposition to Campbell’s perspective.

Whether you side with Campbell or not, she has made her position very clear.

“I choose to believe in President Donald Trump. I choose to stand with him, and pray for him,” she says, “because, as a follower of Jesus Christ and a firm believer in the Holy Bible, according to 1 Timothy 2:1-3, I have been commanded to."

That scripture she quoted says, "I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people--for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior."

Despite the unfortunate reality that we live in a country which is divided by our differences, misguided by ignorance and fear, obsessed with power, and overcome with greed, I still choose to believe that better days are coming. I believe that, although America and all of its leaders are far from perfect, our spiritual guidance and covering that has been granted from our initial decision to be "One nation under God,” is what has established us as the great nation that we are.

I understand that Mr. Donald Trump is our new president, not our God, so as a citizen I choose to have a sensible expectation of him, accompanied by much prayer for him, and a complete dependency on God to work through him, as well as the others that are in office, to secure the welfare of this nation. I choose to opt out of fear of the unknown but rather opt in to hopeful expectation because if God is for us nothing can successfully stand against us.

I believe that understanding and compassion is absolutely necessary for the progress of all people. So, although I don’t always understand or agree with Mr. Donald Trump's politics, perspective, and approach, I believe that the same God that created all of us has deposited greatness inside of him that goes far beyond what many of us have seen and what many of us could imagine. I believe that God can do exceeding abundantly above all that we can ask or think, according to the power that works in us. I believe that the power that works in us is our ability to love, and unify, and humble ourselves, and forgive, and hope, and pray, and educate ourselves, and apply wisdom and hard work to knowledge. I choose to believe that that same power that comes from Almighty God is at work in Mr. Donald Trump, and it will be used for the greater good of this nation and its people.

I believe that no creed, nor color, nor class, nor status of people are better than the other, but we are all valuable; we are all necessary. I believe that all people and all lives matter, including that of Mr. Donald Trump and his family. I believe that the leaders of this nation should protect the opportunity for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for every single one of its citizens. And, I choose to believe that Mr. Donald Trump shares this same belief.

I believe that, as the Bible establishes, and as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s life has proven, we will accomplish more with love and unity than we ever will with indifference and division. I believe that fairness will build us, and fraudulence will destroy us. I believe that elected leaders should govern honorably and serve with integrity. I believe that the constituency of this nation should pray more for our leaders, and complain less about them. I believe that with God all things are possible, and without Him we are left with uncertainty, plagued with impossibilities, and ultimately destined for devastation.

I believe that neither Mr. Donald Trump, nor any of us, are the sum of our mistakes, but instead, we are the sum of the potential and greatness that God, our creator, has deposited inside of us. I choose not to discredit that potential and greatness inside of Mr. Donald Trump simply because my previous perception of him has not been as great as the God who masterminded his existence.

President Donald Trump is the elected leader of this nation so, as a citizen, I choose to be for him. This is not a statement of agreement with all that has been, nor all that will be. It is a statement of a mature, responsible citizen who knows that a perspective, a strategy, or even a fight based in understanding, love, and a willingness to work together as we move forward, accomplishes more and goes much farther than a strategy based in anger, rage, fear, complaints, utter contempt, constant disagreeableness, and noncooperation.

I’m so grateful that I have an inherent right to choose my perspective and, because of that, I choose to forgive all things that I have read, seen, and/or heard from or about Mr. Donald Trump that I deem as hurtful or offensive. I believe that transformation and progress are inevitable when love and forgiveness are at the helm of the journey. Unforgiveness separates us, but forgiveness unites us. Hate kills us, individually and collectively, but love builds and beautifies all who exercise it. And, when I say love, I am speaking of love as the Bible defines it in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails......”

I believe that we frame our world by what we choose to believe and ultimately by what we speak. I agree with the Bible that life and death are in the power of our tongue, so I refuse to speak death over this nation and its people by speaking ill over its new president.

I choose to believe in President Donald Trump. I choose to stand with him, and pray for him; because, as a follower of Jesus Christ and a firm believer in the Holy Bible, according to 1 Timothy 2:1-3, I have been commanded to: “The first thing I want you to do is pray every way you know how..... especially for rulers and their governments, to rule well.... This is the way our Savior God wants us to live.” My prayer is that every person in this nation who has the unalienable right to choose their thoughts, their perspective, and their words, would make this same choice.

I choose to believe that America is great, always has been great, and is becoming greater because it is in God that we trust. He is the founding father of this nation, and there is no failure in Him. I chose to believe that a people led by President Donald Trump, united under God, will never be defeated.
