Town employees in Oklahoma caught on tape using racial slurs to talk about Martin Luther King Jr. Day calling it Happy N****r Day!😲😠😒
WARNER, Okla. – An investigation has been launched after several employees in an Oklahoma town were caught on tape using racial slurs about Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
According to KJRH, a town employee in Warner recorded other town officials using a derogatory term to describe the upcoming holiday.
“We’re off for n***** day? I’m going to celebrate n***** day,” one is heard saying on the recording obtained by Muskogee Now.
“We can just call it JER day: James Earl Ray. It’s not that we don’t like black people,” one person said.
“I’m not racist, that’s just what it’s called here,” another is heard saying.

Muskogee NAACP President Rev. Rodger L.B. Cutler says the conversation on the tape is disgusting.
“It is appalling as a citizen of this state in this day and age to still have to deal with this type of racism,” Rev. Cutler said. “They don’t hate black people, well then why would you use a term that is derogatory towards someone you claim not to hate?”
Warner Town Manager Johnny Lewis told KJRH that the incident is under investigation. According to Muskogee Now, the employees involved in the recording have submitted their resignations.

Remembering MLK’s words of tolerance and justice for all
Today, in remembrance, we should heed the words of Dr. King: “I will not yield to a politic of despair.”
Of the many King quotations that we’ve heard over the years was the most resonant and provocative. It was not, “I have a dream,” or “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere,” or any of the other well-worn lines spoken in churches or schools or around the dinner table at this time of the year. I believe that the MLK quote that is most instructive to us in 2018 is “ … the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.”
In a wide-ranging speech which he titled “Remaining Awake During a Great Revolution,” King touched on other issues of concern in 1968 — militarism, income inequality and America’s moral standing among nations. He also spoke of racism: “ … spoken and unspoken, acknowledged and denied, subtle and sometimes not so subtle, the disease of racism permeates and poisons a whole body politic. And I can see nothing more urgent than for America to work passionately and unrelentingly — to get rid of the disease of racism.”
King’s words are similarly instructive to us in 2018 as they were to those who heard him in 1968. We have just endured a year similar to 1968, when many of the issues of King’s time remain unaddressed and growing more pernicious. Many of us have despaired as we observe the current political morass, growing more odious and toxic by the day. We’ve watched a revival of blatant white supremacy in Charlottesville, the corruption of our cherished institutions, rampant sexual assault and a fraying of our social fabric. And many of us may have begun to wonder about the direction of King’s moral arc. But as King instructed back in 1968, we must not yield.
We must participate in political processes at the local, state and national levels, reforming them through our presence and involvement. We must cast informed ballots and hold our elected representatives accountable. We must labor in our schools and neighborhoods and resist the instinct to turn our eyes away from our collective needs. We must listen to the voices of society’s victims, and then actively move them, and ourselves, toward justice.
Concluding his remarks by anticipating the current state of affairs as well as the difficult work that lies ahead, King stated “I will not yield to a politic of despair.” As we know, King was assassinated less than a week after his speech at the National Cathedral. But his words and deeds live on. So, on this day of remembrance, as we think about the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr., we must renew our efforts to climb over our mountains of despair so that the “moral arc” of our universe does truly bend toward justice.

When Championship Sunday kicks off on January 21, you're going to notice one familiar face and three party crashers.
Of course, the familiar face belongs to the Patriots, who destroyed the Titans on Saturday, and punched their ticket to the AFC title game for the seventh straight year. Although there was some thought that Father Time might finally get the best of Tom Brady this year, that didn't happen. At 40 years old, Brady will be gunning to earn a trip to the Super Bowl for the seventh time in his career and for the third time in four years.
If Brady and the Patriots are going to make it to Super Bowl LII, they're going to have to go through the brick wall that is the Jaguars defense. The best way to slow Brady down is to beat him up and that's exactly what the Jaguars are good at. During the regular season, the Jags finished second in the NFL in sacks with 55.
The Jags' are In the AFC title game thanks to a shocking 45-42 upset over the Steelers on Sunday. The trip to New England will be the third in team history that Jacksonville has played in an AFC Championship. If they can upset the Patriots, they'll be making their first Super Bowl trip ever.
On the NFC side, the Eagles are headed to the conference title game for the seventh time in franchise history, thanks to a defense that completely shut down the Falcons on Saturday in a 15-10 win. If Nick Foles was supposed to struggle against Atlanta, he apparently didn't get the memo because he threw for 246 yards in the win.
The Eagles will be gunning to get to the Super Bowl for the third time in franchise history and to do that, they're going to have to beat the Vikings, who are coming off one of the wildest wins in NFL playoff history after Case Keenum threw a 61-yard touchdown pass to Stefon Diggs on the final play of Minnesota's 29-24 win over the Saints.
Although the NFC title game will be played in Philadelphia, there will be a lot of eyes on Minnesota this week, and that's mainly because Super Bowl LII is being played in Minneapolis.
If the Vikings beat the Eagles on Sunday, they'll become the first team in NFL history play a Super Bowl in their home stadium. The Vikings are playing in a conference title game for the ninth time in franchise history, but just the first time since 2009.
Of the four teams left, the Patriots are the only team that has won a Super Bowl. The Jaguars have never even been to the Super Bowl, while the Eagles (0-2) and Vikings (0-4) are both winless in their six combined trips.

#RHoA: NeNe Leakes Dishes on Her Return to ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ ‘This Is My Show’
NeNe Leakes isn’t shy about claiming what’s hers. And she reveals in an exclusive interview with managing editor Brody Brown in the new issue of Us Weekly that The Real Housewives of Atlanta is her show! “I feel like I’m the girl who started this whole thing!” says the beauty. “I was the girl who they came to and interviewed and asked, ‘Who are your friends? We want to build this show. Who are your friends? We love you.’”
So after taking a season and a half off, the star, 50, decided to reclaim her throne for season 10. “The show to me is like my baby and it’s really weird when I watch the show and I see all these new people sitting there and I’m not sitting there,” she explains. But despite the FOMO, she says the hiatus did her good: “You get burned out. Taking that break helped me feel refreshed.”
And she wanted to bring back what fans were missing without her! “Last season, it was very heavy and dark,” she says. (Phaedra Parks was not asked to return to the cast after admitting on season 9’s reunion that she passed on a rumor that Kandi Burruss and her husband drugged another couple to take advantage of them. Burruss’s name has since been cleared.) “When I was there, obviously we had drama, but I felt like we laughed,” Leakes continues. What else did she think was missing? “A good facial expression,” she says. “I always give you guys a good meme to roll up and down in your social media!”
Though she was instantly thrilled to return, her husband Greg took a little more convincing, she admits. “Greg is very supportive, first of all, of anything I want to do. His only concern was that I keep him up all night with, ‘Oh my gosh, can you believe that just happened?’ Greg was like, ‘If you go back, I’m not going to be able to sleep!’”
Making it all the way to season 10 has given the human catchphrase-generator occasion to reflect. “When we started shooting, I really didn’t know what I was walking into. I hadn’t even entered my 40s! My youngest son was in the third grade — he’ll be 19 this month. My oldest son was in high school. He’s 28! I didn’t even have a grandbaby. And Greg’s hair wasn’t gray, it’s gray now!”
#EMPIRE: Season Recap: Diana Takes Down Another Lyon Cub
Let’s take a look back at this last season of ‘EMPIRE’ as we wait for the news season. Warren meets with Diana and has to break the news the threesome didn't happen. Warren declares he's out. He's really fallen for Jamal. Diana thought this might happen which is why she asked Anika to step in because she's really committed to taking down the Lyon cubs.
To Warren's surprise, the entire Lyon family arrives, expecting to visit with Bella. Warren is caught red-handed. Cookie figures out the whole thing is a set up, and Diana proceeds to break the news to Jamal that Warren is her nephew, and his job was to get Jamal to fall in love with him, and then get pics of them having a threesome for the whole world to see.
Hakeem pleads with Lucious to step up and do something, but he's paralyzed by flashbacks of violent incidents from his past. It doesn't matter because Jamal is ready, willing and able to kick the crap out of Warren. This is all part of Diana's diabolical plan. They're in a very public place, and onlookers are shooting footage of the fight with their cameras. This is bad for Jamal, bad for the Lyons, bad for Empire Entertainment and really bad for Hakeem.
Andre and Hakeem drag Jamal from the room, and Cookie's last words to Diana are "We're coming for you, Bitch." And you know they are.
Lucious tells Cookie he wanted to stomp Warren, and it's becoming obvious that Cookie is disappointed in this meeker version of the Lyon patriarch. She says the old Lucious would have done it. Time to man up, Lucious.

#HIPHOPNEWS: NAS BRINGS ‘ILLMATIC’ to The Kennedy Center
The Queensbridge icon will perform his seminal 1994 debut album with the National Symphony Orchestra at the famed performing arts center in Washington, D.C. during a special for PBS, which is set to air next month.
In a trailer for the show, NaS opens up about what the experience means to him. “Before there was a fan base, a crowd, or audience, I was the fan base. The mirror was my audience. Myself, in a room by myself, was all I needed,” he said. “I wrote this in the projects in New York City. Here we are in the capital of America, Washington, D.C., playing this album and they’re feeling it.”
A trailer for the show features performance footage meshed with interviews and vintage photos and video. Rocking a tuxedo with a bow tie, Nas delivers a heartfelt rendition of the album’s cuts, including “The World Is Yours,” where he changes lyrics around to shout out President Barack Obama. “I hope that you can look through the dream with me and see the journey I took to be on the stage with the orchestra,” he added.

Mark Wahlberg to Donate $1.5 Million in Michelle Williams’ Name to Time’s Up After ‘All the Money’ Controversy
Mark Wahlberg plans to donate the $1.5 million he received for All the Money in the World reshoots in Michelle Williams’ name to the Time’s Up legal defense fund.
As previously reported, director Ridley Scott did reshoots on the film after Christopher Plummer was hired to replace Kevin Spacey, who was dropped from the movie after accusations of sexual misconduct by a number of men. Williams was reportedly paid less than one percent of what Wahlberg received for the reshoot, earning less than $1,000.
Wahlberg, who had a “costar approval” clause in his contract, also came under fire when USA Today reported that he allegedly asked to be paid more than a million dollars before redoing his scenes alongside The Sound of Music star. A source told USA Today, “What he said was, ‘I will not approve Christopher Plummer unless you pay me.’ And that’s how he (expletive) them.”
The Boogie Nights actor, 46, shared a statement on Saturday, January 13, on Instagram that read, “Over the last few days my reshoot fee for All the Money in the World has become an important topic of conversation. I 100% support the fight for fair pay and I’m donating the $1.5 million to the Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund in Michelle Williams’ name.”
The actress previously told USA Today that she didn’t think twice when asked to return to the set during Thanksgiving for the reshoots: “I said I’d be wherever they needed me, whenever they needed me. And they could have my salary, they could have my holiday, whatever they wanted. Because I appreciated so much that they were making this massive effort.”
Celebrities later took to Twitter to stand up for Williams and to call out the film and Wahlberg over the pay disparity. Stars including Busy Philipps, Jessica Chastain, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Judd Apatow shared their thoughts about the situation, with Williams’ BFF Philipps calling it “unacceptable” and “shameful.” The Cougar Town actress also shared a picture of a tweet reporting Wahlberg’s donation on Saturday with a caption that said, “My Girl Gets S–t Done” with praying hands emojis.
WME, which represents Wahlberg, Williams and Scott, has also pledged to donate $500,000 to the Time’s Up movement. The agency issued the following statement on Saturday: “The current conversation is a reminder that those of us in a position of influence have a responsibility to challenge inequities, including the gender wage gap. In recognition of the pay discrepancy on the All the Money in the World reshoots, WME is donating an additional $500,000 to the Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund in Michelle Williams’ name, following our $1 million pledge to the organization earlier this month. It’s crucial that this conversation continues within our community and we are committed to being part of the solution.”

According to TMZ reports: [Jennifer] told cops in the early hours of November 16 she and Otunga were arguing over where their son, David Jr., would sleep that night. She said they had been arguing earlier in the evening because he was upset that David Jr. was at a recording studio with her and a producer who David claimed was her new boyfriend. She says David said, “Don’t have my son around your f***ing boyfriend,” adding he would come to the studio to “f*** him up.”
Jennifer — who denies the producer was her boyfriend — claimed during the argument David picked up their son, said “I’m not leaving” and took David Jr. upstairs to a bathroom. She followed and she claims he pushed her with both hands to shove her out of the bathroom. She claims she stumbled backward and yelled for her security guard. The guard says he never heard her call for him.
YESSSSSSS! A Hattie McDaniel Biopic Is In The Works
The life and legacy of Hattie McDaniel, the first African-American entertainer to be nominated and win an Academy Award, is coming to the big screen.
According to S&A, Alyisa Allen has purchased the rights to McDaniel story and is teaming up with Aaron Magnani for the project. The film will focus McDaniel’s trailblazing career as an actress, comedian and singer/songwriter and is based on the book, Hattie McDaniel: Black Ambition, White Hollywood by Jill Watts.
McDaniel is best known for her role as “Mammy” in the American film classic “Gone with the Wind.” She also appeared in over 300 films and was the first Black woman to sing on American radio. She died of breast cancer at the age of 57.
Allen is the founder of the hugely popular Mocha Girls.
Legendary College Football Announcer Keith Jackson Dead at 89
Keith Jackson, almost without question the most famous announcer in college football history, died on Friday night. He was 89.
Todd Harris of NBC Sports shared the news on Twitter, writing, “The voice of college football and so much more has left us. My mentor and dear friend, Keith Jackson passed last night surrounded by his family. Truly one of the greats in the broadcasting industry. I am grateful for my time with a true legend. Thank you for the lessons KJ.”
Jackson spent 50 years calling college football and is crediting with nicknaming the Rose Bowl “The Granddaddy of Them All” and Michigan’s stadium “The Big House.”
Jackson’s final game was the 2006 Rose Bowl, which saw the Texas Longhorns defeat the USC Trojans in one of the most thrilling college football games ever played.
Not long after news of his passing broke, many took to social media to pay their condolences.

WEtv hosted a special Atlanta screening of its hugely popular series “Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta” Tuesday night. The invitation only event took place at the Rich Auditorium of the Woodruff Arts Center.
“Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta” star Bow Wow introduced the episode to a jam-packed house which also included his co-stars Reginae Carter, Zonnique Pullins, Brandon Barnes, Shaniah Mauldin and Ayana Fite. Supporting them were some of the show’s other cast members—Jermaine Dupri, Deb Antney, Da Brat and newcomer singer Jhonni Blaze, who appeared as a guest on season one.
Atlanta celebrities in attendance included WEtv stars Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson and her mother “Mama” June Shannon; Towanda and Trina Braxton; and “LA Hair” star Gocha Hawkins; along with “Real Housewives of Atlanta” stars Cynthia Bailey and Kenya Moore; super-producer Bangledash, actors Demetria McKinney and Brad James (from SyFy’s “Superstition”); singers Damion Hall (Guy) and Daron Jones (112) and more.
Following the screening the “Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta” cast gave the audience insight into the upcoming season with a Q&A, moderated by Gary with Da Tea from the Rickey Smiley Morning Show. While avoiding any spoilers, the cast revealed that Season 2 is all about their growth as individuals, particularly for Reginae and Shaniah establishing themselves beyond their famous parents’ careers; and professionally, with Bow Wow and Zonnique working on new music; Brandon developing two new R&B groups; and Ayana developing her clothing line. The cast also hinted at a focus on exploring past issues between Bow Wow and mentor Jermaine Dupri; and Zonnique and Reginae, who are working to recreate the bond they once shared.
After the screening, the “Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta” stars and their guests headed to new Atlanta nightspot Revel, where they recreated a vibe worthy of JD’s hit “Welcome to Atlanta” with music by DJ Infamous. SERIOUSLY? U.S. Air Force Bosses Take Down Offensive MLK Day Shooting Event Poster
In Georgia, U.S. Air Force officials found themselves battling a potential public relations nightmare related to the upcoming MLK Day holiday. Officials at the Robins Air Force base moved to take down a poster for a shooting event to be held on the federal holiday that featured an image of slain civil rights leader, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
AJC.com reports: Military officials have pulled a provocative flyer featuring Martin Luther King Jr. atop a “fun shoot” at an Air Force Base in Georgia to be held on the holiday honoring civil rights icon.
The flyer advertised a noon gathering on Jan. 18 for the Robins Air Force Base Trap and Skeet Club. An official at the military base’s Outdoor Recreation office said it was created by a marketing team.
“We didn’t make the flyer,” said Leroy Minus, the official. “We squared it away. We got rid of the picture.”
The base, in a statement, called it an “honest mistake.”
A portion of the statement is shared below:
We realized the inappropriateness of the advertisement several days ago and immediately began removing the flyer. There was no malice of forethought in the flyer’s creation and it was never the base’s intention to portray Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., in a negative light. It was an honest mistake, to which we’ve personally counseled the parties involved and will provide them with remedial training and appropriate oversight to prevent this sort of inattention from occurring in the future.
Hopefully, that’ll be the end of that silliness at Robins, but that hasn’t stopped others in the quest to tie MLK to their ratchet events nationwide we’re sad to report.

before the reported unleash of her highly anticipated visual for ‘Stupid Hoe’ –

Khloe Kardashian isn't one to keep quiet and today she branded her father's
ex-wives 'disgusting'.
She took to Twitter to deny the shocking allegations made by Robert
Kardashian's ex-wives, who claim he told them that Khloe was not his daughter.
The 27-year-old reality TV star posted: 'The audacity you have to mention my
father’s name like this! Should be ashamed of urself! I let a lot of things
slide but this one is really low… YOU ARE DISGUSTING! (yes you know who YOU
are).'
The posts were clearly directed at Jan Ashley and Ellen Pierson who
have both spoken out to say that Robert told them Khloe was not his.
Ms Ashley, who married the businessman after Khloe's mother Kris Jenner,
said: 'Khloe is not his kid -- he told me that after we got married.'
And
Ellen Pierson, 63, who married Robert in 2003 just two months before his death,
has also come forward after eight years of silence to 'tell the truth' about the
Kardashian family.
A spokesperson for Khloe said: 'The story is NOT true.
It’s ridiculous.'
But while Khloe has slammed the allegation she has herself
questioned if she was adopted on the family's reality TV show.
Viewers of Keeping Up With The Kardashians did see her question who her
parents were in an episode in 2009.
The reality star wanted to prove she was
not adopted and tested the maternity of her mother Kris Jenner.
While she
proved she was Kris's daughter she did not compare her DNA with her siblings to
prove conclusively that Robert is her biological father.
In an explosive
interview with Star magazine, Ashley said: 'He just kind of looked at me and
said [it] like it was a matter of fact. He said "Well, you know that Khloe's not
really a Kardashian, don't you?"
'And I said… "OK" and that was
it.'
Proof: Khloe made Kris take a DNA test to prove she was her child but she
did not confirm paternity
She claims Khloe, who is married to Dallas Mavericks
basketballer Lamar Odom, knew she had a different father to her sisters and
younger brother Rob.
'Khloe brought it up all the time. She looked nothing like the rest. She
was tall, had a different shape, light hair, curly hair. Didn't look anything
like the other three children.'
She said Robert, who is of Armenian descent,
had told her that he and Kris were not sleeping together at the time Khloe was
conceived.
'[But] he never would have considered a DNA test. He loved her
very much. Robert did question the fact that Khloe was his,' Ellen said.
'Any
normal man would if they knew their wife had cheated on him.'
Khloe has
responded to the claims on Twitter.
Kris, 56, recently admitted in her new
book that she cheated on Robert during their marriage.
Since Robert's death,
Ellen had experienced financial difficulties, filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in
2010.
The home she and Robert shared in Indian Wells, California, was sold
after going into foreclosure in October.
Kris remarried Olympian Bruce Jenner
in 1991 and the couple had two daughters, Kendall and Kylie.
Bruce already
had four children from two previous marriages: Burt, Casey, Brody, and
Brandon.
Khloe is often talking about how she looks nothing like her sisters, and
Kris has been quoted as saying people asked her whether she was 'the milkman's
daughter' when she was born.
On Khloe's blog in June 2010, she shared a
number of pictures of her and the attorney.
She wrote: 'Father’s Day is two
days away, so in preparation I wanted to post this photo album (mostly old
school pics) dedicated to my dad and to Bruce.
'I was seriously the luckiest
girl in the world growing up because I had two amazing dads who not only loved
us kids more than anything, but adored each other as well.
'My dad and Bruce
were always really close — Kendall and Kylie even called my dad Uncle Robert
which I loved.'
She continued: 'Father’s Day is always a bittersweet holiday
for me because I of course miss my dad, but it also reminds me of how truly
blessed I am to have had two incredible fathers.'

Skechers rejects reality star in favour of
sneaker-wearing French bulldog for new Super Bowl commercial
Super Bowl commercials usually feature brands' most high-profile
ambassadors. And that was certainly true of Skechers last year, when it ran a
steamy ad starring Kim Kardashian.
But this year the reality favourite
appears to have been overlooked in favour of a new star - that some might argue
wins out in the cute stakes.
The new commercial for the sneakers features a
French bulldog instead of a big-name celebrity.
The dog, who goes by the name Mr Quiggly and
co-stars with business magnate Mark Cuban, wears one of the company's new GoRun
shoes on each paw as he races greyhounds around a track.
But while it may
seem that Ms Kardashian has been dropped by the firm, Skechers insists that is
not the case.
The company's CEO Robert Greenberg told USA Today: 'While Kim's contract
with Skechers simply came to an end at the end of last year, we continue to have
a great relationship with her as we do with all the other talent who have worked
with the brand over the years.
'To say that she was 'dropped' or 'replaced'
is misleading and untrue. Skechers has enjoyed and continues to enjoy the
relationship with Kim, and in fact we continue to discuss ways that we may work
together in the future.'
Skechers Fitness president Leonard Armato added that the 30-year-old's sexy
ad last year, which saw her dumping her personal trainer in favour of the
supposedly 'toning' Shape-Ups shoes, was a runaway success.
'Kim got us more
attention than we ever dreamed,' he said. '[But] we have to establish Skechers
as more than a lifestyle company.
Hailed by marketing executives as 'the
greatest night of the year for advertising', 30-second commercial slots during
the Super Bowl can sell for as much as $3.5million.
Regardless of the cost,
the 63 available slots have already sold out for this year's broadcast, airing
on Sunday February 5.

Leakes is on the west coast filming her small screen acting/singing debut.
Leakes has temporarily fled the home of The Real Housewives of Atlanta for
the greener pastures of Hollywood this week to film GLEE.
As previously noted, NeNe will appear on the season premiere of the show,
which airs January 17, 2012 and plays a swim coach by the name of Roz Washington
and will be featured in at least two episodes of the show.

BAFTA's Awards Season Tea Party Draws

Toasting this year's crop of awards season participants, the BAFTA Los
Angeles 18th annual Awards Season Tea Party was held in Beverly Hills,
California on Saturday (January 14).
Among the star power taking part in the
Four Seasons Hotel fete were "J. Edgar" star Leonardo DiCaprio and top-billed
actresses including Michelle Williams, Charlize Theron, Chloe Moretz and Evan
Rachel Wood.
Also turning up for the swanky afternoon affair were actors
such as Sir Ben Kingsley, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet and Chris
Hemsworth, as well as ladies like Meryl Streep, Viola Davis, Shailene Woodley,
Felicity Jones, Octavia Spencer, Stana Katic, Jane Seymour, Lena Headey, Ariel
Winter and Ahna O'Reilly.
Along with honoring the year's nominees and
winners, the Tea Party also featured a charitable silent auction filled with
prized items in which the stars could place bids.
All money raised was directed towards Community Outreach and Philanthropic
