Chris Paul Covers HAUTE LIVING: Talks Fashion, Fatherhood & Wife Jada

Chris Paul of the L.A. Clippers has joined the likes of LeBron James, Blake Griffin and Dwayne Wade in the increasing trend of athletes making fashion statements. In the latest issue of fashion mag ‘Haute Living‘ , the 28-year-old point guard reveals some very interesting tidbits about not only his personality, but also his love for “high-low” trends and wardrobe favorites. Check out a few excerpts below.

On his different personalities:

I come out with a shoe every year called Jekyll & Hyde [the Jordan CP3.VI AE], and it describes my two personalities: on the court, and off the court. On the court, I’m just so competitive; I hate losing in anything I’m doing. Off the court, I’m pretty chill and relaxed.

On his diversity in fashion:

I definitely love my Tom Ford, but I’m not into name brands. It may just be something from a regular place, like the Gap or Topshop, but for me, it’s not about the brand. I like what I like.

On some of the finer brands he likes:

I am definitely into luxurious things…A high-end watch collection of Rolexes, Breitlings and Audemars Piguets with an eye to buy a Patek Philippe in the near future.

He also spoke about his personal life such as being a father to his now 2 kids, Chris, Jr.and their recent baby daughter, Camryn and married life to his college sweetheart, Jada, and being more of a philanthropist.

On being a father:

My son is my main man. I’m hard on him as my dad was hard on me. My job is to be his dad, not his friend.

On being a husband:

We’re just like any other couple; we have our ups and downs. But I’m blessed to have the woman that I have. She’s an amazing daughter, mother and wife.

On age bringing wisdom:

As I’ve gotten a little bit older, I’ve begun to understand what’s important. You realize that other people’s opinions shouldn’t really affect you, and that you shouldn’t really worry about what others are going to say

Jill Scott Joins Usher As A Mentor On "The Voice"

When Usher returns to "The Voice", he'll be bringing along a special friend....Jill Scott.  EXTRA revealed that the show's February 24th return will feature Jilly From Philly as a mentor for team Usher. Usher told “Extra’s” Renee Bargh, “That’s my secret weapon, incredible, as a writer, as a musician, as an actress, all those elements really help to prepare artists.”

Jill added, “When Usher calls, you take the call.”

What's her advice to contestants? “Listen to your gut, follow your heart and it will lead you somewhere special.”

Kevin Hart, Regina Hall & Will Packer Attend Sony Pictures’ “About Last Night” Philadelphia Red Carpet Screening

Kevin Hart returned to his hometown of Philadelphia to attend the Sony Pictures’ About Last Night Red Carpet Screening, at the Prince Theater. Regina Hall, and producer Will Packer were also in attendance, and the trio was spotted as they posed it up, laughed and mingled.

“I love my city…Thank you for the love and support Philadelphia. This is the 1st Billboard that I saw when I arrived in Philly yesterday evening #aboutlastnight #feb14th #boxofficekiller,” Kevin tweeted along with a pic of the movie’s billboard.

Starring Kevin Hart, Michael Ealy, Regina Hall, and Joy Bryant, the romantic comedy is a remake of the 1986 film of the same name. This contemporary version closely follows new love for two couples as they journey from the bar to the bedroom and are eventually put to the test in the real world

Nick Cannon Blasts Google For Offensive Black History Image

Nick Cannon isn’t very happy with Google. On February 1, the official start of Black History Month, the company placed a cartoon image of Harriet Tubman holding a lantern and wearing a scarf, presumably leading slaves to freedom as its home page image. Tubman was a former slave who led hundreds slaves to freedom via the Underground Railroad. Emmy winning actress Cicely Tyson portrayed Tubman in the 1978 film about her life, ‘A Woman Called Moses’.

Nick took to both his Instagram and Twitter pages to rant about the Google image (above) writing,

Really Google??? This is the way we are kicking off Black History Month. #UndergroundSearchEngine#WhoApprovedThis #WhySheRockingALouieVscarf #AmIJustBeingSensitive #FeelingSomeTypeOfWay#RacistMuch…It’s interesting to see all the different opinions. At least we are having the conversation…Like I said in my stand up special… We are ALL Racist!!! Lol

Nick expressing himself about politics and pop culture is nothing new. If you recall a few months ago, Nick blasted ’12 Years A Slave’, writing on Twitter:

If I see another damn slave movie…AARRRGGHHHH!!!!!  I think they keep making them because they want to keep Black folks on edge!  They don’t want us to get to comfortable!  Yeah we know about Obama…But don’t forget about Toby!”

He later added an image of his grandmother and wrote,

They called this lady a slave, I call her my grandmother’s grandmother.  Why don’t they make movies about our African kings & queens? #OurHistory I would love to see a film about Akhenaton and his beautiful wife Queen Nefertiti! Or Cetewayo, a King who was a war hero. Im about to drive to my office RIGHT NOW and start the development! New Hollywood Trend, Black King and Queen films! Starring Black People!! #NoDisrespectToElizabethTaylor.”

Reportedly, Google kept the image posted for a full 24 hours as it does all its tribute images.

Paul Walker Left His Entire Estate To His Daughter

Paul Walker’s untimely death certainly came as  surprising tragedy, and now that the dust has settled, there are some administrative things to take care of.

Apparently, People got a hold of a copy of Paul’s will, which states that he left his entire $25 million estate to his daughter, Meadow.

With the will, though, comes some drama. Paul’s father has been appointed an executor of the estate, and his father petitioned to have Paul’s mother – Cheryl – appointed Meadow’s guardian. 

Meadow has lived with her mom in Hawaii, but has lived in Southern Cali with her dad for several years now and will remain there with her grandparents per her mom’s wishes and hers.

Monday, Erica Campbell Takes Over VH1 Soul & VH1.com for Worldwide Premiere of New Video for ‘Help’

Erica Campbell will exclusively debut her new music video “Help,” this Monday on VH1 Soul and VH1.com.

The video, created by legendary and iconic director Bille Woodruff, will premiere at 6:00am EST on VH1 Soul and will run every hour (on the hour) all day.

The video will also be available on line exclusively on VH1.com.

Shot in HD, Campbell looked absolutely stunning in the Woodruff led video that features breakthrough rapper Lecrae and her daughter Krista Campbell. As always Erica stays relevant in her delivery with this right-on-time ballad that is coupled with Lecrae’s poignant rap and Woodruff’s beautiful aesthetic shines. The collaboration is memorable and a sure fire hit for both in Gospel and urban platforms.

Dreamgirls! Eddie Murphy's daughters Shayne and Bria strip down for racy lingerie shoot 

He's fathered seven children with four different women.

And two of Eddie Murphy's daughters - Bria, 24 and Shayne, 19 - just stripped down for a racy lingerie shoot this week.

The fit models both shared several Instagram snaps from their boudoir spread, which was shot by North Hollywood-based photographer iamEpic.

While sleek-maned Shayne donned an ultra-sheer dotted top with her black lacy V-string.

In another shot, Bria reclines on an Afghan rug while clad in a red two-piece - revealing a hint of her ribcage tattoo.

The Murphy sisters are clearly following in the footsteps of their mother Nicole Mitchell, a former model who worked with Guy Bourdin.

The 52-year-old funnyman divorced Mitchell in 2006 after 13 years of marriage.

Ashanti’s “Braveheart” Album Gets New Artwork

Ashanti is all dolled up on the new cover for her forthcoming album, Breaveheart. The “I Got It” singer switches it up from the previous cover she shared weeks ago –  she’s snapped for a close-up in this gorgeous shot.

Ashanti’s new album includes features from Future, Rick Ross, R. Kelly, among others, and is expected in March 2014.

The video for her Rick Ross-assisted “I Got It” is set to soon make it’s debut. Earlier this week she posted another teaser to Instagram, writing; “Counting down to the video premiere of “I Got it”..

Scarface's Autistic Son Found In Good Condition

Veteran rapper Scarface has just seen a week-long scare come to a close as his son, Brandon Jordan turned up in Los Angeles' Leimart Park area in reportedly good condition after he stormed out of his home without warning on Wednesday, January 29.

The 20-year-old, who is diagnosed with autism, is said to be an aspiring musician like his father and is studying music at West Lost Angeles College.

Reports ABC:

Rapper Scarface's missing son has been located and is in good condition, authorities said on Thursday morning.

Brandon Jordan hadn't been seen or heard from since Jan. 29 when he stormed out of his Leimert Park home.

"He just got agitated, didn't want to talk about it no more, and just stormed out of the house with nothing," said his mother Melissa Lollis.

His loved ones posted fliers at his favorite places throughout the area, as well as at West Los Angeles College, where he's studying music.

The story breeds similarity to the case of New York teen Avonte Oquendo, who wandered off from his school in late October. His dismembered remains were eventually found scattered along a Queens shoreline a couple of weeks ago.

Police made no mention on where Jordan was found in the report.

The grand opening pulled out the red carpet for Atlanta and Atlanta showed tons of love and support for the new business venture. Fans of the show and celebrities alike were in the house to see the new restaurant and sample the delicious dishes from the menu.

Most of the cast of Love and Hip Hop Atlanta was there to lend their support to Stevie J and Benzino on the launch of their new bistro and bar. Momma Dee and Shay Johnson spoke loving words of encouragement and motivating the crowd to spend that money. While thanking the captivated audience for showing much love and support to Stevie J and Benzino.

Kirk Frost and Scrappy was on hand to kick it with the fellows as they toasted to a successful event and an even more successful business partnership.

Erica Dixon and Karlie Redd came through to show their support for Stevie J and Benzino’s new restaurant.

Some celebrites were spotted at Sleazy & Zino showing their support. These VIP guests include Derek J, Towanda Braxton, Kandi Burruss, and the Nae Nae Boys.

The event was hosted by the homie Big Tigger with DJ Aone on the ones and twos.

Sleazy and Zino would not have been a success if it had not been for the first ladies of the Bistro and Bar. Stevie J was there with his lady-love Joseline Hernandez and her crew of friends. Benzino introduced the new love of his life to Atlanta and announced his engagement to the lovely Althea. Althea rocked a GIGANTIC engagement ring and was proud to let everyone know that Benzino is no longer on the market.

The event was amazing and I can honestly tell you that Atlanta is going to LOVE Sleazy & Zino Bistro & Bar. The food is good. The drinks are good. Ciara and fiance Future are taking an extended holiday vacation, relaxing in Bora Bora. The singer has yet to address rumors that she’s expecting and she continues to let us speculate.

Ex-Vikings Punter Calls Coaches "Cowards & Bigots," Team Launches Investigation

A former punter for the Minnesota Vikings strongly believes his outspoken support for gay rights got him booted off the team in 2013 and he wants the whole world to know it.

Chris Kluwe wrote a column for Deadspin titled "I Was An NFL Player Until I Was Fired By Two Cowards And A Bigot"

where he puts recently fired head coach Leslie Frazier, general manager Rick Spielman and special teams coach Mike Priefer on blast for their alleged homophobe comments.

In the article, Kluwe goes into great detail about his treatment as a player the more his activism was noticed. He was especially critical towards his former special teams coach who he referred to as the "bigot."

Near the end of November, several teammates and I were walking into a specialist meeting with Coach Priefer. We were laughing over one of the recent articles I had written supporting same-sex marriage rights, and one of my teammates made a joking remark about me leading the Pride parade. As we sat down in our chairs, Mike Priefer, in one of the meanest voices I can ever recall hearing, said: "We should round up all the gays, send them to an island, and then nuke it until it glows." The room grew intensely quiet, and none of the players said a word for the rest of the meeting. 

The atmosphere was decidedly tense. I had never had an interaction that hostile with any of my teammates on this issue—some didn't agree with me, but our conversations were always civil and respectful. Afterward, several told me that what Mike Priefer had said was "messed up."

Kluwe was later fired in the spring of 2013 even with him maintaining that his production remained consistent.

Now the Vikings organization has lawyered up and are looking into the matter much more seriously.

Magnuson and Madel are partners in the firm Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi L.L.P. Their investigation is already underway, according to the Vikings' release.

"This is a highly sensitive matter that we as an organization will address with integrity," Vikings vice president of legal affairs and chief administrative officer Kevin Warren said in the statement.

All the coaches involved have vehemently denied the allegations and even cited having gay family members themselves. Things should get interesting as more alleged "truths" come to the light.

Paul Walker Autopsy Report Released

The Los Angeles coroner released Paul Walker’s autopsy report, which concluded that the actor died from the “combined effects of f traumatic and thermal injuries” following a fiery late-November auto crash.

Neither Walker, 40, nor the man behind the wheel, his business partner Roger Rodas, 38, had drugs or alcohol in his system, the reports said. 

Nearly all of Walker’s body was charred through the skin, and his hair color and eye color could not be determined from visual examination, the gruesome report stated.

Officials said the “Fast & Furious” star was found in a “pugilistic stance” with right wrist and left arm fractures — suggesting he had braced for impact.

Britney Spears Fans Disappointed With Split Second Meet and Greet

Britney Spears fans were left feeling cheated after shelling out big bucks for a  split-second meet and greet in Las Vegas.

Excited superfans have been shelling out a staggering $2,500 for a VIP Meet-And-Greet with Britney Spears in Las Vegas, but RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned many are left disappointed after their quick “3-second” photo-op with the Toxic singer.

Along with a front-row seat to Spears’ Piece of Me show in Sin City, ticket holders received a bevy of Britney merchandise, but it was actually meeting the singer and taking a photo with her that caused fans to pay the hefty ticket price.

“Fans were told before the meet-and-greet that they were not to hug or touch Britney without her permission and they weren’t allowed to bring her any gifts,” an insider told Radar.

“And then once they finally got to meet her it was like smile, take a photo, goodbye. Each person literally got like 3-seconds with her.”

According to the insider, fans were unhappy overall with the meet-and-greet — with some even criticizing the Louisiana-native’s poor choice in wigs.

“The wig was painfully obvious one night and it was just so sad,” a source said.

Spears’ wig even made waves on Twitter with one fan writing, “Britney meeting a fan in Vegas with a scary wig n sad eyes :’(((((“

“Fans were anticipating a flashy meet-and-greet with Britney but instead it was just awkward and uncomfortable,” the insider told Radar.

“She barely spoke. She just smiled and nodded and said ‘thank-you’ a lot.”

Tyrese CELEBRATES His 35th Birthday With Will & Jada Smith And Maxwell In Dubai

Singer Tyrese turned 35-years-old on December 30th.....and he's still celebrating!  He's over in Dubai now where he's been joined by a host of friends to ring in the new year and celebrate his life.  He posted a pic with "Fast and Furious" co-star Vin Diesel on IG (in anticipation of his arrival).  "Here we go!!!!!! My brother Vin is coming to Dubai ... Were gonna finish shooting #Fast7 here!!! ...... Get your best cars ready were looking for you.!!! Vrooooomm!!!!" 

He's already been joined by good friends Maxwell and Will Smith who've been partying with him all week.

Jada Pinkett joined the fellas for a fabulous dinner and a few laughs.  

Throughout the week, Ty and Max both posted videos from their intimate dinners and group gatherings that really show how much they all care about one another.

Johnny Depp Settles Alleged "Concert Brawl" Lawsuit

Deciding that paying a fee instead of going through the complicated mess of a lawsuit would be better for his health, Johnny Depp settled his Iggy Pop concert lawsuit from 2011.

Apparently, while in attendance at the concert, a woman sitting beside the now 50-year-old got to her feet, and began dancing a bit too close for the star's comfort, thus instigating a response from his bodyguards.

The woman, Robin Eckert, who claims to be a professor of medicine at U.C. Irvine, then said that Depp's guards threw her to the ground, forcing her pants to slip down.

She stated that the incident "exposed her buttocks to other Hollywood Palladium Theater patrons," and ended up suing for unknown damages.

As a result, the "Pirates" actor, as well as other defendants, decided to pay Eckert, in lieu of going through the headache of a massive lawsuit.

‘Tia & Tamera’ Cancel Reality Show

After three seasons of their reality TV show, the beloved twin sisters Tia Mowry-Hardict and Tamera Mowry-Housely announced that they are taking a break from the cameras to show a little more attention to family. The show “Tia and Tamera” that was launched on the Style Network back in 2011, was themed to document the sisters juggle between family, career and womanhood. After years of being on the small screen, it appears that the sisters are ready to give up the TV life and move on. Tuesday, Tamera announced via Twitter that the show would not be returning:

Wanted to say Thank You for all the love and support. But most of all welcoming me, my husband, n (and) my son into your homes for 3 seasons … Tia and Tamera will not have a season 4. Thank you for always supporting us throughout the years. Tia n (and) I decided it was time 2 live r (our) family lives behind the cameras…

This may come as a disappointment to fans but the sisters, ensured that they wouldn’t be venturing too far. Tia has a TV comedy, “Instant Mom” (On Nickelodeon) and Tamera is returning as a co-host on “The Real,” the talk show. 

Tia & Tamera released a joint statement on their website on their upcoming ventures,

Online Company To Make Kanye West-Themed Money, Coinye West [PHOTOS]

The Internet can be a strange yet invigorating place. For those not in the know, a peer-to-peer digital currency exchange system better known as cryptocurrency has been gaining popularity due to pioneering company Bitcoin's genius.

Now a rival company is looking to get in on that action and they're using Lord Yeezus himself, Kanye West as their face. Coinye West is their name and their aim is minimizing the tech savviness of their program to make it more accessible to the general public.

The creators recently told VICE/Noisey that they chose the Kanye for his uniqueness and trendsetting ways.

I see, so what's the benefit of creating another cryptocurrency? 

There's already quite a few.Coinye West is a cryptocurrency for the masses. Bitcoin is for hardcore money-hoarders, and Dogecoin was more for the internet-meme crowds.

What's your goal?

Our goal with Coinye West is to make it easier for people to use cryptocurrency. Right now, it's kind of a dark art for people to mine coins. We plan on releasing a front end to the "mining" programs called CoinyeMiner. It will make things a lot more simple and people will be able to make their own coins. We're working round-the-clock to get everything going as smoothly as possible.

In lay-mans terms, how does mining work?

Basically, people's computers try and figure out math problems. Hundreds of them work together and when there's a payout, about half a million coins get released from a block, and they get shared between everyone who helped open them. They then get paid out to a wallet, which is a software that people will keep on their computer. They can send or receive coins from there, sorta like Paypal.

We're not sure how Kanye will take to such a dubious honor, seeing that he's looking to tone down the outlandish nature of his persona several notches this year.

Ricky Martin and Carlos Gonzalez Break Up

Ricky Martin and his parter Carlo Gonzalez go their separate ways.

Singer Ricky Martin and Carlos Gonzalez have ended their relationship after three years of dating.

The split, which reportedly occurred before the festive break (24-25Dec13), was confirmed by the Livin' La Vida Loca hitmaker's representatives, but they explained he would not be commenting on it, according to Doslives.com Martin and Gonzalez began dating in 2011, a year after the singer publicly 'came out'.

He previously dated Mexican Tv host Rebecca de Alba for 14 years.
