Produced by Katalyst Collective, “Baby, Can We?” flips Aretha Franklin‘s 1972 classic “Day Dreaming” into a gumbo of R&B, soul, and funk, with a dash of hip-hop. Lyrically, the song captures the desire to flee from daily life with a potential lover.
“Hey, baby, let’s get away, let’s go somewhere, huh / Baby, can we / Keep this thing on low down / Nobody has to know now,” Richard sings in the opening verse. Bernarr responds, “It’s so nice to see that I can just be / Don’t have to perform, I get to be me.”
Speaking on her new collaboration, Richard said, “Durand is one of the most gifted vocalists and performers of our generation. I’ve admired his artistry for years. This record gave us the opportunity to create something together that feels joyful, honest, and rooted in genuine connection. At its heart, ‘baby, can we?’ is about being open enough to embrace possibility.”

Big Tigger Issues Statement After Arrest, Denies All Charges
Radio personality Big Tigger put out a statement in the wake of his weekend arrest last weekend, denying all charges.

For the past 30+ years, I have built my life around relationships and community. Those who know me know the man, father, husband, and friend I have been throughout my life.
Because this is an active legal matter, I am limited in what I can say. What I can say is that I have complete confidence in the facts and in the legal process. I will continue to cooperate fully and trust that the truth will come to light.

According to that report, Brown allegedly confronted Big Tigger, whose real name is Darian Morgan, about texts he had exchanged with a co-worker. According to Brown, Tigger attempted to wrestle his phone from his wife’s hand after he began recording her.
From there, a struggle ensued, which presumably led to Brown’s injuries, which she shared in a now-deleted social media post. To her credit, Brown didn’t explicitly say Tigger was responsible for her injuries but implied that he knew how they happened.
However, Tigger received the battery charge and Brown would go on to say her husband slammed her head into a door. Their son was reportedly home during this dustup, hence the cruelty to children charge, but it doesn’t appear that the boy was physically harmed.
On the same day of Tigger’s statement, a judge granted Brown a temporary restraining order against her husband, stating he must remain away from his wife and children.
A hearing is set for July 13.

Actress and comedian Mo’Nique is the latest to join in on disputing Oprah Winfrey’ recent comments about Whitney Houston.
Mo’Nique criticized Oprah while reacting to Oprah’s claim that Houston had relapsed on drugs and was high during her 2009 “Oprah Show” appearance.
Oprah’s remarks were made at this year’s Cannes Lions Festival.
She said Houston later returned to the show to perform and had relapsed in her addiction. “I had such trust from ‘The Oprah Show’ audience … I think it was [Houston’s] last show with us, and she had gone back on drugs,” Winfrey said. “The first interview I did with her when we’d gone behind stage and I asked her about her intention, she was clean, but the day she came to my show then to perform in front of the audience, she was not, and she fell off of the stage.”
She also said she urged audience members not to share photos.
“I knew that if that story got out … she would be destroyed by that,” Oprah said. “And so even though the audience was there and the audience had cameras, I begged them not to put those pictures out because it would ruin her life, and they did not. That would not happen today, I can tell you that,” she added.

The comedian questioned the fairness of discussing incidents involving someone who is no longer alive to confirm or deny what happened.

Doubling Down With The Derricos’ Star Deon Derrico Say Ex-Wife Karen Allegedly Threatened To KiIl Him & Their Children
Deon Derrico is speaking out after his ex-wife, Karen Derrico, was arrested over alleged threats involving him and their children.
The “Doubling Down With the Derricos” alum claimed Karen, 46, thr*atened his life and the lives of their 14 children during an alleged family dispute.
“She didn’t specify which one. It was a brawl. Like, ‘I’ll kill y’all. I’ll go to jail for it. I’ll gladly go to jail for it,’” Deon, 42, told Us Weekly. “That was said several times.”
Deon said their children later told him about the alleged remarks, prompting him to confront Karen.
“You can’t never do that. I don’t care. You can never tell your children you would kill them,” he recalled telling her.
He also alleged Karen admitted in front of witnesses “that she wished she had a g*n, she would sh**t me.”
Karen was arraigned June 23 on charges including harassment, aggravated stalking, violating a restraining order and preventing a witness from testifying through threat of violence. She pleaded not guilty.
“The allegations are completely false,” her attorney Jess Marchese said.

Former Secretary of Transportation and likely 2028 presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg was briefly separated from his children after an anonymous false report alleging he was a danger to his young twins.
Buttigieg detailed the ordeal firsthand in a post on Substack, titled “A Terrible Thing Happened to My Family.”
He said he was “furious” that someone “decided to hurt our family this week.”
A few days ago, he wrote, a police officer and Child Protective Services worker showed up at his door. “They explained that there had been an allegation against me, that it concerned our four-year-old twins.”
Buttigieg said he did his best to remain calm but was of course “bewildered and troubled.” The officials informed him he could not be alone with his children until they underwent a forensic interview, a revelation he said “made my stomach turn.”
The twins stayed at their grandparents house that night. “The twenty-four hours until they returned are among the darkest hours of my life,” Buttigieg said.
“Many times over the years, I have been denounced, yelled at, protested, threatened, and heckled,” he said. “I’ve been through political attacks in office, death threats in public life, and rocket attacks in war. But this is the ugliest thing that has happened to me since my career in service began.”
The more the officer and CPS worker learned, the clearer it became that the allegations were completely false, he explained. “The officer made clear that he believed this was politically motivated, and said it would not be referred to a prosecutor. Nothing in the forensic interview with the children, which was conducted by trained personnel, had led to concerns.”
In a statement to the Associated Press, the Michigan State Police confirmed they had determined the report was false.
“Chasten and I hugged each other as tightly as we have any time since the day our son was put on life support as a critically ill infant just weeks after the adoption,” Buttigieg wrote.
He went on to decry just how ugly politics has become these days, calling it “more like bloodsport.”
“Even though the accusation was absurdly and obviously false, and was promptly rejected by law enforcement, I still worry about the harm it has done.”
He was devastated that his kids had to endure the experience of being place in a room with two strange adults to answer questions that their dad.
“I cannot describe the mix of rage and sadness that I feel at the idea that someone brought our children into this. They are four years old. Four. They do not know or care what a Democrat or a Republican is. They don’t know how politics works. They don’t know about hate… For God’s sake, they are just kids.”

The queen who replaced her was also just revealed to be advancing to the semi-finals!
“I really did try to make it happen, but unfortunately it just wasn’t possible in the end because of Project Runway interviews leading up to the season,” Utica told Entertainment Weekly. “Filming of All Stars was right after filming of Project Runway and before the airing of [Project Runway]. I was originally casted with Joey [Jay] as sisters [from season 13], but Sam Star took my spot last minute.”
“It would’ve been a hell of a turnaround to make it happen, but I’m very much enjoying watching this season and being there for my sisters along the way!” Utica added.
If you recall, Utica, whose real name is Ethan Mundt, competed on Project Runway season 21. The season aired last summer, and Ethan was a runner-up alongside Jesus Estrada.
Jasmine Kennedie, who has advanced to the semi-finals, confirmed Utica was the one who dropped out, and says she was relieved.
