#RHOA: Charles Oakley Sounds Off on Porsha's "Tea" About Him: "Barking up the Wrong Tree"
As the wife of a celebrity like NBA legend Charles Oakley, The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 16 newbie Angela Oakley admitted her "DMs are flooded" with rumors, and so there's "not a lot that can rock the boat." Even so, she called a foul on the play after Porsha Williams claimed to have "tea" on Charles.

"I think a lot of people feel like my husband is my soft spot, so in order to crack the egg, if you will, they want to throw a dagger at our marriage or whatever," Angela explained during RHOA Season 16, Episode 5. "Now, you can speculate all the hell you want to, but you better not say you know somethin' about my husband."

When she finally filled in Charles about Porsha's claim later in the episode, he had a bone to pick. "She don't even know me," Charles said. "She's barking up the wrong tree. She better hit her brakes a couple times."
Angela asked her husband to let her "handle all this," though, to which he shot back, "You should've handled it then, when she said it."
"I did. And she said it was a joke," Angela replied. As the retired pro baller responded, "Don't joke with me." Agreeing, his wife chimed in, "We don't play like that."

In a confessional, though, Angela claimed, "Charles doesn't give a s--t about the rumors. He's just like I don't give a f--k about what nobody got to say about me."
Porsha made the comment in question during Angela’s bank dinner on Episode 4 when the hostess suggested that the women anonymously write down a question for someone in the group on a deposit slip. "Angela, what is a secret that you wouldn't want the group to know?" Porsha read from a piece of paper, before asking, "Have you ever had a threesome?"

After Angela claimed she was an "open book," and never had a threesome, nor does she "bring anyone to [her] bedroom," Porsha fired back, "I did hear your husband was spicy."
"He can be," Angela admitted, prompting her RHOA castmate to further claim, "I heard somethin' about Charles."
Despite Angela pressing her to reveal what she'd heard about her husband, Porsha played coy and simply said, "No, we'll wait."

Though she played it cool in the moment, in a confessional, Angela fumed, "Porsha doesn't even want to speak about her own marriage and her own relationship. Why would you mention my husband? Like, don't even say Charles' name..."
Back on the second episode of RHOA Season 16, the mother of four opened up more about her relationship with Charles, whom she first met at a party in Chicago. "We exchanged numbers and then I didn't hear from that man for another ten years when we became neighbors in the same condominium," Angela explained. "I feel like our relationship was destined to happen."

They later married in 2016, and have four kids, between the two of them. While Angela is mom to Ahmauri and Avan from previous relationships, Charles is dad to Charlie Jr., and they share one child, Arleigh, together.
"The secret for loving a man like Charles is just letting him be who he is," Angela shared in an interview during the March 26 episode. "Charles and I sometimes [can] get in our own heads and he won't hear me, I won't hear him. And through therapy I realized I wanted him to change. Then I realized that I have flaws too."

#HipHopNews: Nicki Minaj Named Best Female Rapper Of All-Time, Barbz And Haters React
Nicki Minaj has officially been named the greatest female rapper in Hip-Hop history by Billboard, cementing her legacy in the genre.
The outlet unveiled its definitive ranking on Monday (April 7), placing Minaj at the top spot based on a comprehensive set of criteria, including chart performance, cultural impact, lyrical skill, longevity, and flow.

According to Billboard, Minaj’s body of work and groundbreaking achievements made her the clear standout
Notably, she became the first female rapper to surpass 100 entries on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2018—an achievement few artists across any genre can claim. More recently, her Pink Friday 2 World Tour shattered records, becoming the highest-grossing tour ever by a female rapper, further underscoring her staying power and star appeal.

“From mixtape bars to mainstream dominance, Nicki has consistently delivered,” Billboard noted, highlighting her ability to blend razor-sharp lyricism with genre-bending versatility and unmatched charisma.
Following Minaj on the list were other Hip-Hop icons: Missy Elliott, Lauryn Hill, Lil’ Kim, and Queen Latifah, who each contributed significantly to shaping the sound and scope of female rap across different eras.

With over a decade in the game, countless platinum records, and a dedicated fanbase known as the Barbz, Minaj’s influence spans far beyond music.
However, the Queens native’s spot atop the list drew a mixed reaction online, with some fans expressing their agreement while raving about Nicki’s greatness, while others deemed her unworthy of such an honor.

Dominican Republic Nightclub Leaves Over 100 Dead After Roof Collapses

The Dominican Republic is reeling from a catastrophic tragedy after the roof of the iconic Jet Set nightclub in Santo Domingo collapsed during a live concert — claiming the lives of at least 113 people and injuring 155 others, ABC News reports.

The calamitous incident unfolded just after midnight at 12:34 A.M. on Tuesday (April 8), during a performance by beloved Dominican merengue singer Rubby Pérez. The collapse, described by police as happening “within seconds,” turned a night of celebration into a night of tragedy and unwanted memories.
Search-and-rescue teams were seen working around the clock in the rubble of the once-thriving music venue, as the nation’s emergency operations director, Gen. Juan Manuel Méndez, confirmed the devastating toll. Families could be seen clinging to hope as they gathered outside the ruins, desperately seeking word about their loved ones.

In a solemn message, Dominican President Luis Abinader addressed the nation’s grief. “We deeply regret the tragedy that occurred at the Jet Set nightclub,” he wrote on social media. “We have been following the incident minute by minute since it occurred. All relief agencies have provided the necessary assistance and are working tirelessly in the rescue efforts. Our prayers are with the affected families.”
Among the deceased was Pérez and two former Major League Baseball players, Octavio Dotel and Tony Blanco. Dotel, 51, known for his 15-year career spanning 13 MLB teams including the Mets and Yankees, was pulled from the wreckage, but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries en route to the hospital—according to reports.

The Mets held a moment of silence in his honor and shared, “We mourn the passing of Octavio Dotel. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the tragedy in the Dominican Republic.”

Blanco, 44, played for the Washington Nationals, as well as both Japanese and Dominican leagues. “His legacy will live on in the history of national baseball,” the Dominican Republic Ministry of Sports and Recreation said of Blanco. “We share in their grief with their family, friends, and colleagues, and we offer our prayers for their eternal rest.”
MLB Commissioner Robert Manfred Jr. reflected on the shared grief felt across the baseball community, stating, “Major League Baseball is deeply saddened by the passings of Octavio Dotel, Tony Blanco, Nelsy Cruz, and all the victims of last night’s tragedy in Santo Domingo. We send our heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of all those who have been affected and to our colleague Nelson and his entire family. The connection between baseball and the Dominican Republic runs deep, and we are thinking of all the Dominican players and fans across the game today.”

Authorities have since launched an investigation into the cause of the collapse. Although they have yet to determine what caused the roof to cave in, it was revealed that the Jet Set had suffered fire damage in 2023.

Taraji P. Henson Takes Full Ownership Of Namesake Beauty Brand

Taraji P. Henson has acquired her beauty brand for an undisclosed amount from Maesa. According to WWD, the What Men Want actress purchased the TPH By Taraji brand outright from the incubator, taking full ownership.
“Over the past few months I have been in discussions with my partners at Maesa regarding the future of the TPH by Taraji brand, and am pleased to say we have reached a mutually beneficial agreement that has afforded me the opportunity to buy back TPH,” Henson shared with the outlet in an emailed statement.

“From Day One, our shared vision was to create a brand that celebrates hair and scalp with high-performance products rooted in self care, efficacy and inclusivity.”
“TPH by Taraji has started with the idea of celebrating and redefining scalp and hair care and has grown into an incredible brand with a strong identity and loyal consumer following,” added Scott Kestenbaum, Maesa’s chief growth officer, in a separate statement. “After launching and operating the brand for five successful years, we are thrilled to see Taraji take full ownership of the brand as it enters its next chapter of growth.”

TPH was founded by the 54-year-old in 2020. Initially, the brand offered a slate of hair care products before expanding into body care and home products in later years.
“I realized a lot of women were putting weaves in their hair totally neglecting their hair,” Henson explained at the time. “And I know the weave is fabulous, but you have to take care of that hair underneath. And that’s what TPH by Taraji will give you: the most amazing, refreshing experience. This line is perfect for taking care of your natural hair.”

Diddy Faces New Charges In Sex Crimes Case Just Weeks Before Trial

Diddy's legal team has released the following statement to XXL regarding the new superseding indictment.
“These are not new accusers, these are the same individuals, former long-term girlfriends, involved in consensual relationships," the statement reads. "This was their private sex life.”

The Bad Boy Entertainment founder was originally charged with one count of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution when he was arrested on Sept. 16, 2024. Since then, the government has added more crimes to the case. In January, two more unnamed victims were added to the indictment. Last month, a second superseding indictment was filed charging Diddy with forced labor and making employees engage in sex acts.

As Puff's trial looms, his legal team is pulling out all the stops. They have recently filed multiple motions questioning evidence concerning the case. Diddy has pleaded not guilty. His trial date is scheduled for May 12.
In addition to his criminal case, Diddy is also facing dozens of civil lawsuits. He recently got a victory in one of the cases, which was dismissed last month.

Woman Arrested After Allegedly Putting Hands On Zion Williamson’s Other Lover
A woman has been arrested after a violent incident reportedly occurred at the home of NBA player Zion Williamson in Louisiana.
According to WSDU 6 News, Ahkeema Love, 31, was taken into custody on Monday (April 7). Love, the alleged romantic partner of Williamson, is accused of attacking one of the athlete’s other love interests who was at the residence last month. Law enforcement claims Love entered the residence, grabbed the victim’s hair, punched her with keys, egged the home, and fled the scene.

Police reported the unnamed victim had lacerations on her face, as well as multiple torn-off fingernails.
Love appeared in Jefferson Parish Magistrate Court on Tuesday morning, where the victim confirmed they had both been dating the same man, per Nola.com. Authorities did not officially identify the man as Williamson in court. According to the Assistant District Attorney, Ralph Alexis, Love and the man had a child together last month. Love reportedly had keys to the home, however, she was not allowed on the premises.

“Don’t worry. It’s going to be your head next when I drop this baby. Count your days,” Love allegedly wrote to the victim on social media. She ended the message with a smiley-face emoji, which her lawyer, Brian Capitelli, claimed to indicate “joviality,” Nola.com reported. Capitelli requested a low bond amount for Love, as she is a stay-at-home parent.

Love had a bond set at $50,000 for three counts of home invasion, aggravated battery, and stalking. She was also ordered to turn in a pistol she owned and to stay away from the unidentified victim.

Tony Buzbee files to dismiss Jay-Z’s lawsuit against him

Tony Buzbee anxiously wants the Jay-Z lawsuit against him thrown out of court due to alleged lies and technicalities.
Buzbee filed the legal documents in a New York court to have Hov’s case dismissed. In the court filings obtained by TMZ, Buzbee claims that Jay-Z reneged on a promise to provide a settlement check to the unnamed woman who said Jay and Diddy tag-teamed her sexually.

Jane Doe had claimed in her filing late last year — which she has since dropped — that both moguls drugged her and then sexually assaulted her at an afterparty following the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards in New York.
As it stands today, a New York judge ruled that Jay-Z had enough evidence of possible legal malpractice by Buzbee to send Jay’s civil lawsuit to trial, much to Buzbee’s chagrin.

Buzbee the flamboyant and bombastic legal counsel for over 100 women in their civil lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs, claims he has receipts that Jay had initially agreed to pay off Jane Doe.
“On February 4, 2025, an agreement to resolve the litigation was reached between Doe and Mr. Carter, through their attorneys, which included the voluntary dismissal of the SDNY Action.”

Alex Spiro, Jay-Z’s attorney, rebuffed Buzbee’s claims as a “total lie.”
“He brought a false case, lost badly and was forced to dismiss quickly. End of story.”
Tony Buzbee claims he has receipts that Jay-Z lied
Buzbee’s legal team insists that they have email exchanges confirming that Jay-Z capitulated to a monetary agreement with Jane Doe.

“Spiro’s statement that there was no agreement is a total fabrication… As part of that agreement, Spiro agreed to withdraw the Rule 11 motions for sanctions that he had brought against Mr. Buzbee’s law firm.”
Continuing, Buzbee claims that Jay-Z also breached the alleged agreement between the two parties, saying that Jay-Z promised not to harass the family, only to continue the campaign of harassment even after the lawsuit withdrawal.

“We agreed to withdraw the lawsuit that Jane Doe had brought for rape against Jay-Z and Mr. Combs, even though Jane Doe continued to maintain that the allegations in that lawsuit were true,” Buzbee wrote. “Jay-Z and Spiro agreed not to send any more people to harass and intimidate Jane Doe and her family. One week later, Jay-Z and his lawyer flagrantly breached that agreement by sending supposed investigators to harass and intimidate Jane Doe and her family.”
Spiro counters Buzbee, saying that while he admits that Buzbee reached out to inform him and Jay-Z that Jane Doe was dismissing the lawsuit, he contends that Jay never intended to settle and made that known to Buzbee.

Fake Kobe Bryant Memorabilia Broker Pleads Guilty
Kobe Bryant and Kardashian memorabilia broker pleads guilty after selling more than half a million dollars in fake goods...
From The Daily Mail: A Southern California man now living in Mexico has pleaded guilty to selling fake memorabilia, including purported Kobe Bryant and Kardashian family autographs, which have been revealed to be forgeries.
Anthony J. Tremayne, 58, pleaded guilty to one count of mail fraud related to his selling memorabilia ostensibly linked to famous athletes, musicians, actors, and other celebrities. In total, Tremayne now admits, he sold between $250K and $550K in fake memorabilia between 2010 and 2019.

Tremayne falsely advertised the memorabilia as genuine and sometimes included a 'Certificate of Authenticity' form, which customers relied upon to make their purchases.
The problems for Tremayne began in 2020, when sold photographs of the Kardashian family containing forged signatures of three of the show's 22 characters. The buyer in this transaction turned out to be an undercover FBI agent.
Tremayne faces up to 20 years in prison and will be sentenced on August 11.

Bryant memorabilia has been coveted by basketball fans since long before he was tragically killed with daughter, Gianna, and seven others in a 2020 helicopter crash.
Last August, Bryant's old locker at Staples Center sold at auction for $2.9 million, according to Sotheby's. Bryant was known to have used the locker at the Staples Center from the 2003-04 season to the 2015-16 season - his final year in the NBA.
The item had previously been in storage for 'years,' the company said, after being discovered while the Staples Center was being renovated in 2018.

Sotheby's said the locker - along with the rest of what remained in the locker room - would have been thrown out if not for a 'vigilant' maintenance worker.
'Kobe Bryant's locker at the Staples Center is more than just a piece of memorabilia; it's a sacred relic of his unparalleled journey,' Brahm Wachter, Sotheby's head of modern collectables, said in a press release.

Keke Palmer Kills Off Podcast With Domestic Abuser Jonathan Majors

Keke Palmer appears to be having second thoughts about talking to Jonathan Majors on her podcast, after receiving serious pushback on her decision to host the actor who was convicted of assaulting and harassing his ex-girlfriend.
Majors has been on a redemption tour as he promotes his new film Magazine Dreams, sitting for multiple interviews where he talks a lot about personal growth while refusing to truly address the actions for which he was convicted. None of his interviewers so far have asked him the specifics of the behavior, allowing the former Marvel actor to skirt by answering with general musings about his spiritual awakenings and self-love.

Palmer’s podcast with Wondery, Baby, This is Keke Palmer, was set to be next on Majors’ list, according to the podcast landing pages for the episode announcing an April 8 release date. Instead, an interview with rapper Kash Doll appeared for the week’s release.
Palmer has yet to address the backlash for the episode announcement, or the missing episode. The Daily Beast has reached out to Wondery and reps for Palmer for comment.

The landing page for the Majors episode, titled “No Easy Answers: Accountability and Moving Forward with Jonathan Majors,” has since disappeared behind broken links. The paywalled Wondery+ page, where the episode was set to appear first for paying subscribers, has also been removed.
The episode was taped, however, and a short clip of Palmer chatting up Majors giddily was released to promote the interview. Palmer plays a game of “This or That” with the actor, in which he chooses “owning the past” over “rewriting the future.”

Palmer asks why, but quickly moves on when Majors asks whether the question should be taken “personally”—a good opportunity to address the matter at hand. She assures him the question was to discover his “concept around time” and offers him a fist bump moments later—hardly the “true accountability” promised by the description of the unreleased episode.
Social media immediately erupted after Palmer’s interview with Majors was announced earlier this month, with users questioning her choice to have him on the show—particularly after Palmer herself endured domestic abuse from her child’s father, as was revealed in a custody dispute in November of 2023.

“The thing about Keke giving Majors a platform on the basis of accountability is… he hasn’t ever taken accountability,” wrote one user. Another indicated that the Majors episode may have been missing from the show pages since April 4: “Bullying works,” they wrote.
Majors was convicted of misdemeanor reckless assault in the third degree and harassment of his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari, stemming from an incident in March of last year. Despite his conviction in December, he’s never admitted to his actions and even attracted a defamation suit from Jabbari after he publicly denied her accounts. She later dropped that suit.

Last month, in the middle of his promotional tour, Rolling Stone published a recorded phone call between Majors and Jabbari that allegedly reveals the actor admitting to “strangling” her in a separate incident from the one that landed him in court.
The one-time rising star had his whole career come crashing down when Jabbari’s accusations became public and the ensuing trial took over the media. Since being confronted with the “strangling” tape while promoting his film, Majors has responded only about “God’s plan” and “doing the work.”

Britney Spears Calls Out Anyone Making 'Sad Comments' About Her Looks: 'Feel So Sorry for You Guys'
Britney Spears called people who hate on her “jealous” in a recently deleted Instagram post.
The singer gave the world a piece of her mind in response to those who talked negatively about her hair in one of her recent videos.
Spears’ post started with her excitement for the new season before digging into how she felt about people’s criticisms of her. “Spring is here, yes, yes, yes, I’m so damn excited!!!” she wrote. “And for the incredibly sad comments that say that I look bad … I feel so sorry for you guys.”

"And for the incredibly sad comments that say that I look bad... I feel so sorry for you guys. I thought my hair was beautiful and I do have a cold and it has affected my voice. " - #BritneySpears
“I thought my hair was beautiful and I do have a cold and it has affected my voice” she added. “And I have been held back from going to Mexico for four months and since flying and traveling is the main thing for my health and well-being, I do have a small virus.”

After explaining why she looked the way she did, Spears addressed the people who ridiculed her once more. “But just like the comments and people who said they were my best friend, it’s people like them who are so jealous, they will do anything to keep from living my life and in my highest manner,” ranted Spears.

“I feel sorry for people like that … Hopefully we can all be kind to one another,” she continued.
Spears’ post directed at her haters comes a few weeks after she posted about her son Jayden James’ epic piano skills.
The singer shared a video of the 18-year-old playing the piano in her home. In the video, she can be heard calling his skills “so sick.” Spears captioned the video, "WOW WOW WOW !!!”

In another video, Spears applauded James’ abilities and expressed how they made her feel. "My son just played, oh my God! I felt it in my bones, and my heart, and my lungs, and my ass, and my throat and I'm scared!" she exclaimed.
Spears captioned the second clip with, "He's a genius and I'm in awe of him !!! I can’t believe he’s mine !!! I was honestly scared that’s not normal !!!"

Will Smith Dishes On Michael B. Jordan's Role In 'I Am Legend 2'
It's been three years since Michael B. Jordan was confirmed as a new cast in the long-awaited follow-up to Will Smith's 2007 post-apocalyptic thriller "I AM Legend". Speculations about Jordan's role ran wild: Would he be a younger image of Smith's character Dr. Robert Neville, or perhaps a Hemocyte leader?

Smith has finally lifted the lid on what to expect from the upcoming movie and what role is going to be played by the "Creed" actor. Instead of portraying a younger Neville, Jordan will take on a pioneering role as the head of a new settlement
The original "I Am Legend", set in a desolate New York City devastated by the Krippin Virus, depicted Dr. Neville as the last human survivor in a city teeming with infected beings. In contrast, Jordan's character will navigate a different kind of survival in an apocalyptic world.

In a revealing conversation on Revolt TV, Smith dished on, "What we were gonna do was the prequel, so we were gonna do the prequel. … And [Akiva Goldsman] was like, 'But wait, what if we make a new version from the alternate ending, where your character is still alive and you know, Michael B. Jordan's character currently is the head of a new settlement.' … He's not my son."

While "I Am Legend 2" is still in its developmental phase and generates palpable excitement among its audience, it's not the only project keeping Will Smith busy. He's also gearing up for a follow-up to his superhero comedy "Hancock", eyeing the ever-talented Zendaya Coleman to join the cast.

Matt Bomer Reflects On Being Outed By Media & The Unfair Treatment He Faced
Matt Bomer opened up about his sexuality being outed over a decade ago. The 47-year-old Mid-Century Modern star came out during a speech in early 2012, when he thanked his husband Simon Halls and their three children.
Prior to that, he had been the subject of rumors and unfair treatment by the media, which he talked about during a recent appearance on Jesse Tyler Ferguson‘s podcast Dinner’s On Me.

“It was that time when folks could kind of take over your own personal narrative before you even had a chance to,” Matt recalled. “I remember outlets talking about my personal life before I had ever had a chance to even do it myself. And it wasn’t because I didn’t want to, I didn’t even have an opportunity to.”
“No media outlet was ever going like, ‘Hey!’” he continued. “I just didn’t have a career that warranted that, and so it felt kind of unfair to me, that that was stolen by people who did have a microphone at the time. It was a weird time.”

Matt reflected how around that time there would be paparazzi pictures of him with his husband and kids, but he didn’t “want them to feel like they were some kind of shameful secret or, something I was sweeping under the rug so I could have a great career.”
He then mentioned the opportunity to come out publicly was perfect, as he was invited to an event to receive a humanitarian award and he thought, “I’m gonna thank my family ’cause that’s what someone would do in this circumstance.”

Matt noted that he didn’t “have anything to fall back on” if coming out were to ruin his career, but he had his family and that was the most important thing.
“What I had was a loving family. That was my safety net,” he said. “And I was like, you know what? If the worst that happens is that I don’t work again and I have this beautiful family who I love and who loves me, then so be it.”
If you missed it, Matt also recently spoke about how he had to re-learn how to do comedy for his new Hulu series Mid-Century Modern after doing so many dramatic roles throughout his career.

“90 Day Fiancé's Jasmine Pineda Welcomes Baby No. 3, Her First with Partner Matt Branis: 'Beyond Grateful'

90 Day Fiancé's Jasmine Pineda's family has grown. The reality TV star, 38, has welcomed her third baby, her first with partner Matt Branis. Pineda, who is already mom to sons Juance and JC from a previous relationship, is still legally married to husband Gino Palazzolo, whom she met on the show.

"Introducing Matty, our sweet baby girl! She's already filling our hearts with so much love and joy," the couple tells PEOPLE. "We're beyond grateful for this new chapter in our lives."
Alongside the happy news, the couple also shared the first photo of their baby girl, as well as a shot of the three of them.
Back in February, Pineda first announced she was expecting her third baby with a video on the official 90 Day Fiancé Instagram account.

"I have very special news," she said during her announcement. "Let me announce to you that I am pregnant. I am so happy and excited, and I cannot wait to meet my beautiful baby."
Pineda didn't share any additional news, including the due date or the baby's sex
At the time, fans of the show were speculating about the status of her relationship with Palazzolo. Although the couple was still together on the show, fans noticed that Palazzolo was missing from Pineda's social media platforms.

On a Dec. 23 episode of 90 Day: The Last Resort, Pineda revealed that she was interested in adding a third person to their relationship. The topic came about while the six couples at the retreat were asked to answer some serious questions about their sex lives.
Palazzolo also expressed an interest in bringing in a third person to fulfill some of his bedroom fantasies, but Pineda was more interested in having an open relationship.
Pineda quietly tied the knot with Palazzolo in June 2023 in an intimate wedding in Michigan attended by just 12 loved ones. "Jasmine wanted a destination wedding initially, but we eventually agreed upon a small wedding with close family," Palazzolo told PEOPLE.

While the couple said that planning their big day was "stressful" because they only had a couple of months to pull it off, everything turned out beautifully.
"It was my dream wedding come true," Palazzolo told PEOPLE at the time. "A super amazing day that I will not forget!"
"It was one of the happiest days of my life," Pineda added. "I married the love of my life."

Denver Nuggets Fire Head Coach Mike Malone and GM Calvin Booth With Five Games Left in Season
Denver Head Coach Mike Malone and GM Calvin Booth. In an uncharacteristic move, we see another playoff-bound NBA team firing their head coach just days before the playoffs. This time, in a surprising decision, Michael Malone was fired by the Denver Nuggets. First reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania, assistant coach David Adelman has been promoted in his place.
It was announced ten minutes later that General Manager Calvin Booth would also be relieved of his duties. Malone finishes with 471 wins and 327 losses after ten seasons. Firing Malone with five games left in the season is a shocking decision and marks the latest firing of a head coach of a playoff-bound NBA team in over 45 years.

Currently sitting with a 47-23 record, the Nuggets are vying to win another NBA title after reaching the promised land two seasons ago. Malone’s firing suggests that there is an internal issue that may be revealed soon. However, what the team now must figure out is how to adjust and prepare for the playoffs without Malone for the first time in a decade.

Denver Nuggets owner Josh Kroenke released a statement following today’s moves:
“It is with no pleasure that we announce we have relieved Michael Malone of his head coaching duties, effective immediately. David Adelman will assume our head coaching role for the remainder of the 2024-25 season.

This decision was not made lightly and was evaluated very carefully, and we do it only with the intention of giving our group the best chance at competing for the 2025 NBA Championship and delivering another title to Denver and our fans everywhere.
While the timing of this decision is unfortunate, as Coach Malone helped build the foundation of our now championship-level program, it is a necessary step to allow us to compete at the highest level right now. Championship-level standards and expectations remain in place for the current season, and as we look to the future, we look forward to building on the foundations laid by Coach Malone over his record-breaking 10-year career in Denver.”

Letting go of the winningest coach in your organization just five games before the playoffs is highly unorthodox and feels like a slap in the face. It will be interesting to see what comes out of Denver this weekend following this abrupt firing.
