#MAGFAB: Beyoncé for Essence - March/April 2024!
On Wednesday (Feb. 14), ESSENCE shared the cover of their upcoming March/April 2024 issue with Beyoncé. As explained in the description, the publication’s feature will touch on the legacy of Black hair and the Houston icon’s latest venture. No date was given for when the issue will hit newsstands.

Earlier this month, Beyoncé announced a new hair care line, CÉCRED, after she teased the endeavor back in May 2023. “How many of y’all knew my first job was sweeping hair in my mama’s salon?” she asked her followers in an Instagram post. “Destiny’s Child got our start by performing for clients while they were getting their hair done. I was exposed to so many different kinds of entrepreneurial women in her salon. I saw firsthand how the ways we nurture and celebrate hair can directly impact our souls.”

The message continued, “I watched her heal and be of service to so many women. Having learned so much on my hair journey, I’ve always dreamed of carrying on her legacy. I can’t wait for you to experience what I’ve been creating.” A short trailer for CÉCRED confirmed Feb. 20 as the company’s official launch date.

As previously reported, Beyoncé also revealed that RENAISSANCE ACT II will arrive on March 29. In preparation of the long-awaited effort, she shared two singles, “16 CARRIAGES” and “TEXAS HOLD ‘EM,” both of which marked her return to the country genre. Previously, Beyoncé utilized the Southern style for the Lemonade standout “Daddy Lessons.”

RENAISSANCE ACT II will serve as the sequel to 2022’s RENAISSANCE, a 16-song body of work with a wealth of contributions from BEAM, Tems, Mike Dean, Boi-1da, Hit-Boy, Honey Dijon, The-Dream, Tricky Stewart, and more. RENAISSANCE, which boasted cuts like “BREAK MY SOUL” and “AMERICA HAS A PROBLEM,” became Beyoncé’s seventh consecutive studio album to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

#RHOA: Porsha is coming back but Ya Girl Nene Leakes is NOT!
While Porsha Williams Guobadia might be spinning the block on Real Housewives of Atlanta, we’re here to let you know that Ms. Nene Leakes is NOT

The franchise show has generated much discussion and speculation about veteran cast members making a comeback. With Porsha’s announcement of her return, fans are anticipating NeNe Leakes to follow suit.
However, sources close to the show revealed to TMZ that NeNe isn’t in any talks to join the upcoming season 16. They were also told producers haven’t reached out to her to have any conversations about the possibility.

This is disappointing news for Nene Leakes’ fans as they’ve been awaiting her return since her departure in 2020.
Fans have flooded her comment section daily with comments such as, “Sign that RHOA contract along with Porsha -thanks management.”

Another fan wrote, “@neneleakes miss you on my screen ❤️❤️❤️ come back please!”
Speculation heightened when NeNe started following Bravo on Instagram in November 2023. Fans interpreted this as a potential sign of improved relations with the network, especially considering her 2022 lawsuit alleging a toxic work environment with racism tolerated by the show’s producers.

Nene has always voiced her opinions on the franchise show. She recently stated the showrunners need to blow something up to bolster viewership due to extremely low ratings.
She also echoed what many viewers have said for years now: the show needs some fresh blood after 15 years of the same cast.
It’s safe to say Nene Leakes won’t make a return to the show. Maybe we’ll see her make a debut on a different network with her own show one day!

#HipHopNews: Lil Nas X Gets Latto A Bouquet Of Roses After Being Name-Dropped In “Sunday Service”
It’s officially been a week since Latto dropped “Sunday Service” last Friday (Feb. 9). The song included a speculatory jab at Ice Spice and mentioned Lil Nas X, the latter of whom showed his affection for the Atlanta rapper with a Valentine’s Day gesture.

In an Instagram post shared to Latto’s account on Thursday (Feb. 15), the “INDUSTRY BABY” hitmaker sent her a bouquet of roses. It was accompanied by a card that read, “I would never curve you. Happy Valentine’s Day, Lil Nas X.”
The gift arrived in response to being name-dropped on “Sunday Service.” On the cut, Latto rapped, “He callin’ tryin’ to work it out, I’d rather make him work for me/ He can’t tell if it’s authentic or it’s surgery, please, Lil Nas X the only n**ga curvin’ me.”

Check out the photo below.

Amid the playful exchange, rumors swirled around Latto’s alleged relationship with 21 Savage, as well as Nas X’s sexuality. “Imagine them dating, and this whole time y’all been thinking it’s 21,” one comment read. Another user joked, “Bro said, ‘Hold up. I ain’t that gay now.’”

When “Sunday Service” initially came out, Latto seemingly said the song was paying “homage” to female rappers. However, during an Instagram Live, she revealed that the clip was taken out of context.
“Clips got chopped up, so what I am gonna do is speak on it. When [have] y’all ever known me to duck smoke? B**ch, I’m never ducking smoke,” she said. “I’m sorry y’all [have] never been in a Sprinter before, [but] music videos be on shuffle. [That] s**t don’t be that deep. I ain’t see that s**t. My mama can drop dead right now if I’m f**king lying. F**k I need to lie for? I already said I ain’t ducking smoke.”

The NBA Rescinded Chris Brown's Offer For The Celebrity Game

Chris Brown decided to share that the NBA revoked his initial invite to play in the Ruffles Celebrity Game during NBA All-Star Weekend. The game featured famous stars like Jennifer Hudson and Kai Cenat and was coached by Stephen A. Smith and Shannon Sharpe.

According to the emails he shared from the talent booking team, he was slated to be a part of the team led by his frequent collaborator and friend Lil Wayne. In a post, Brown said, “I was asked by the NBA to play in the all-star game this year! Only for them to call back later and say I couldn’t do it because of their sponsors like Ruffles.”

He continued by saying, “At this point, I am tired of people bothering me, and I’m tired of living in the f**king past. I posted the emails so you all could see them. The NBA still trying to get me to come courtside… Not f**king happening.” Before sharing the emails, he said, “I only go where I am appreciated.”

One fan commented on a post sharing the news saying, “Rihanna don’t even [give a f**k] anymore. Why do y’all?” while another user said, “Rihanna forgave him. They made a d**n song together, but others still holding grudges. He was young, made a mistake, and took accountability. Let’s move on… not justifying what he did, not condoning it, but he is human, and humans make mistakes, d**n!!!”

In more positive news, on Tuesday (Feb. 13), Chris Brown announced plans to hit the road in support of his 11th studio album, 11:11. Taking to his Instagram Story, the “No Guidance” hitmaker shared that details are pending as his team finalizes venues. However, he confirmed the headlining voyage will be called “The 11:11 Tour” and that it’ll kick off in early summer.

The singer wrote, “Hey, Team Breezy. Management has asked me to wait [to reveal] the tour dates until we confirm all [the] venues. When’s the tour? Early [summer]. What’s the name of the tour? ‘The 11:11 Tour.'”

Megan Thee Stallion And Nike's Hot Girl Systems Collection Is Finally Here
In partnership with Nike, Megan Thee Stallion launched her Hot Girl Systems collection. The 10-piece line was designed to cater to diverse body types, with sizes ranging from extra small to XXL. It includes sports bras, biker shorts, a long-sleeved bodysuit, and a cropped bomber jacket featuring red flame details that nod to the Houston rapper’s “hot girl” persona.

Speaking with Harper’s Bazaar, Megan emphasized the importance of the joint effort reflecting her image authentically. She stated, “I needed to make sure the collection genuinely reflected my brand. I didn’t want to just slap my name and logo on a collection, so I collaborated with Nike to make sure my creative ideas were integrated into the pieces.”

“It was important for me to make it inclusive for all body types. I want people to feel comfortable, confident, and stylish when they try on the collection,” Megan added. Their partnership is also expected to come with two exclusive workouts — Hottie Lower Body and Hottie Core — set to launch on the Nike Training Club app in March.

Items are currently available on Megan’s official website and will expand to Nike and selected retailers starting next Tuesday (Feb. 20).
Elsewhere, Megan told Harper’s Bazaar why it’s important to prioritize her emotional well-being in addition to staying fit. She mentioned, “Unfortunately, a lot of people in today’s society work out to try and look like someone else on social media. We all have different bodies and different health goals, so it’s important to show up for yourself first, and that will guide your journey. At the end of the day, my goal will always be to inspire people to invest in their physical and mental well-being in a safe and healthy way.”

On the music side, Megan debuted “HISS” in January. It served as a follow-up to November 2023’s “Cobra.” Both records are expected to appear on the musician’s forthcoming studio album later this year.
Megan also announced that she’ll be supporting the project via the “Hot Girl Summer Tour,” which will kick off during the summer. At the time of reporting, the dates and supporting acts have yet to be revealed.

Kelly Rowland Walks Off Today Show After Issue With Dressing Room
Kelly Rowland is taking her confessions elsewhere. The "Motivation" singer and former Destiny's Child member abruptly left the set of Today With Hoda & Jenna over an issue with her dressing room Thursday, when she was supposed to fill in for Jenna Bush Hager as a guest host, EW has learned. The walkout came after Rowland appeared as a guest on the Today show in its 8 a.m. hour, and fellow singer Rita Ora ultimately stepped in to replace her as guest host.

A representative for Today declined to comment on the matter, and a rep for Rowland didn't immediately respond a request for comment.
A source told PEOPLE that "Kelly walked out because she and her team didn't like her dressing room," and Ora then "agreed to fill in at the last minute."

According to Page Six, which first reported the news, Rowland asked about using a green room upstairs because she was unhappy with the one she was in, but it was being used by Jennifer Lopez, who was on hand to promote her new album, This Is Me… Now, and film, The Greatest Love Story Never Told. The report says Rowland was then offered several other options, but she opted to leave instead.
Rowland was on Today to promote her new movie Mea Culpa, a legal thriller she stars in and produced. The film hits Netflix Feb. 23. Ora, meanwhile, recently joined The Masked Singer as a panelist on season 11.

Chilli Reportedly “Unbothered” After Usher Revealed She Denied His Hand In Marriage
Chilli of TLC is reportedly “unbothered” following ex-lover, Usher‘s, revelations about a failed proposal to the R&B singer. The musicians’ former relationship has been put back in the spotlight after the newly-married star shared with PEOPLE that he once popped the question and was denied.

According to the same outlet, a “source close to” Chilli said that the “Waterfalls” singer is “unbothered by the recent hoopla involving her past relationship.”
Her response stems from the recent 2024 Super Bowl half-time performer, where he recalled, “I wanted to marry her. I proposed and she told me no. I went through a great deal of pain after that, not trusting women or wanting to open up.”

Fortunately, both stars have moved on in their love life, as Usher just tied the knot to his longtime partner and Chilli is dating former Boy Meets World star, Matthew Lawrence.
“I’ve never experienced anything like this,” Chilli told PEOPLE last year. “To this day we have not had one argument.”

Additionally, a rep for the 52-year-old stated, “I’ve been with Chilli since 2005 and I’ve never seen her this in love. She is glowing. They are really cute together.”

“We can confirm that Usher and Jennifer Goicoechea took the next step in their relationship and did get married on Sunday night in Las Vegas surrounded by close friends and family,” Usher’s rep shared. “They both look forward to continuing to raise their children together surrounded by love and thank everyone for the well wishes.”

Additionally, Usher shared photos from their unforgettable night with the caption: “One of them Ones [diamond ring emoji] 2.11.24.”
The ceremony reportedly took place right after Super Bowl LVIII, sealing the deal for the parents of two.

Paramore’s Hayley Williams condemns "blatant racism" after Tennessee GOP snubs Allison Russell

Paramore lead singer Hayley Williams has called out the Tennessee Republican Party for passing a resolution to honor her band, but not a similar recognition that would have honored Black musician Allison Russell after both of their wins at the 66th annual Grammys on Feb. 4
Russell was nominated in five categories, taking home a gold gramophone in Best American Roots Performance for “Eve Was Black.” Paramore won Best Alternative Music Performance for “This Is Why” and Best Rock Album for their project of the same name.

The measures to recognize both artists were introduced to the state House of Representatives on Feb. 12 by Democratic Rep. Justin Jones. House Republican Caucus Chair Jeremy Faison objected to the resolution in recognition of Russell. Williams gave a scathing read of legislators who saw no issues with her band being honored in a statement published by The Tennessean on Friday (Feb. 16).

“For those that don’t know, Allison Russell is an incredibly talented musician and songwriter. Her music spans genres with strong ties to the Folk/Americana scenes. You might have seen her on the Grammy stage performing with the great Joni Mitchell. Oh, she is also Black. She’s a brilliant Black woman,” she wrote.

The Tennessee native continued, “The blatant racism of our state leadership is embarrassing and cruel. Myself, as well as Paramore, will continue to encourage young people to show up to vote with equality in mind.” She went on to thank Russell “for using your voice and artistry to band people tighter, not tear them apart. Congrats on your incredible Grammy night. On behalf of Paramore, Happy Black History Month.”

Russell is from Montreal, Québec, but her musical career is rooted in Nashville, where she has also done advocacy work for the LGBTQ+ community and for gun safety legislation.
In an Instagram post, Russell also acknowledged the snub while graciously saluting Jones’ efforts. She wrote, “Much love, gratitude, [and] appreciation to you, Brother Jones. That you [and] Gloria Johnson presented this resolution is a high honor. That the TN GOP blocked it, I take as a compliment. Their bigotry, sadly, is on relentless display. We have a chance this year to make a real change in TN.”

Gabrielle Union Nearly Unrecognizable After Apparent Drastic Weight Loss

Gabrielle Union has sparked a debate on social media with her latest look. Her fans and followers have been speculating about what she may have and may have not done to her face as she looked different these days.
On Tuesday, February 13, the actress shared photos and videos from her time in Las Vegas. In the pictures and clips, she looked fabulous in a black short dress while flashing her stomach in the outfit that featured a vertical slit on the torso. "When I bet on myself, I double down #vegas," she captioned the post.

While many in the comments section marveled at Gabrielle's beauty, others wondered why she looked different in the images and videos. "Yea I can tell she did something to her face. I hate she did because she was already beautiful," one follower claimed.
"Gabby what did you do to your face," another wondered, as another asked, "Gabby what did u do." Seemingly accusing the "Think Like a Man" star of going under the knife to alter her face, a fourth user said, "I hate she did something to her face."

Others begged to differ though, believing that her different look was the result of makeup. "For days people have been saying her face is different. It's the way her makeup artist is contouring her nose. That's what is different there is no cosmetic procedure here just makeup," one of them argued.
Defending the 51-year-old, another said, "She didn't do anything to her face. The artist didn't use the correct color." Someone else claimed that Gabrielle looks unrecognizable due to her weight loss, "Ion think she did anything to her face.... But it appears to be weight loss just a lil bit."

Others also weighed in on the actress' apparent weight loss in her other post. Accusing her of Ozempic use, one troll wrote, "Ozempic does wonders for the privileged rich folks." A concerned fan said, "You look gorgeous as usual. But you look awful thin. I hope you're okay." One other begged, "Gab I love your hair but please don't lose anymore weight."

D.L. Hughley Not Interested in Mo’Nique Reconciliation
*D.L. Hughley has put his feud with Mo’Nique in the rear-view mirror, so to speak, stating that not every argument needs resolution, and this one won’t have it!
In New York City, the comedian/actor shut down any chance of a sit-down on Shannon Sharpe’s podcast, indicating he’s not keen on reconciliation.

Hughley made it clear he won’t appear on “Club Shay Shay” or reach out to Mo’Nique, believing all that needed to be said has been said, according to TMZ.
Despite past clashes with Mo’Nique, Hughley stands by his words, expressing zero regrets and asserting that adults don’t always need to reconcile.

*While the feud seems to be behind him, the ball may be in Mo’Nique’s court to see if she’s willing to move on too.
Speaking of their feud. It was back in May of 2022 that things went left for D.L. and Mo’Nique. Here’s what we reported then:
Whoo lawd, do we have another hot one fo’ ya! Saturday night, Mo’Nique was a part of The Comedy Explosion featuring D.L. Hughley at the Fox Theater in Detroit. While on stage, Mo’ went all the way in on Hughley because of an alleged contract dispute. She claims that she was supposed to co-headline the event with Hughley, but it didn’t work out that way.

While on stage, Mo’Nique was seen on video telling the audience, “That’s what the motherf**king contract says… ‘Mo’Nique is to be the last motherf**king person on the got d*mn stage. She is the headliner. That’s what I signed the contract for.”
Another clip showed Mo’Nique going at Hughley even further.  “What kind of real n*gga would ever attack a got d*mned black woman?” She said she feels sorry for his wife, then said, “N***a, your name is D.L., what the f**k does it stand for? How far are you bending over, n***a? On the DL.”

D List Actor John Schneider Calls Beyonce Out For Stepping Into Country Music Genre, Compares It To A Dog Marking Its Territory

The Have and The Have Nots star John Schneider had a lot to say about Beyonce and her country music.
During an interview with right-wing One American News Network, Schneider discussed Queen Bey’s recent foray into the genre and he blasted her for not leaving the genre alone.

He went on to say her latest songs—both considered country music—is like the star taking a piss on country music.
Schneider also said left-wing entertainers have to “make their mark just like a dog” — basically, he sees entertainers trying to claim country music as their own, TMZ reported.

Schneider himself released several albums, with several reaching impressive heights on the country charts, back in the ‘80s.
And those he’s referencing Beyonce, he’s also talking about other pop stars who have recently stepped into the country music scene.
Of course the Beyhive- Bey’s fans – blasted Schenider for his comments, calling his words “disgusting.”

Jimmy Kimmel has been dragged to court by George Santos. The "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" host is being sued by the former U.S. Rep. for allegedly deceiving him into making videos on the Cameo app that were used to roast him on the show.
George filed the lawsuit on Saturday, February 17 in Manhattan federal court, according to the New York Post. Aside from the 56-year-old TV host, the New York Republican listed ABC and Walt Disney Co. as defendants.

George is suing over alleged copyright infringement, fraudulent inducement, breach of contract and unjust enrichment. He claimed Jimmy misrepresented himself to persuade the 35-year-old politician to create personalized videos "capitalizing on and ridiculing" his "gregarious personality."
