#MAGFAB: Donald Glover covers GQ's Global Creativity Awards 2023 Issue.
He changed the course of television with Atlanta and laid out a blueprint for a whole era of dark comedy. And now, out in Ojai, California, the multihyphenate star is preparing for the next phase of his career, building something even bigger and more ambitious that only he could have imagined.
“Here…a good one,” Donald Glover says, sweetly, as he hands me a voluptuous avocado fresh from the tree. Gray hairs are perfectly sprinkled throughout his beard, and his coils are hiding beneath a weathered navy “Hawaii” cap that spent most of the day precariously atop his head, defying gravity. Glover is showing me around the sprawling farm he’s purchased in Ojai, California, that will be the headquarters for Gilga—his new production company/incubator/cultural library. On Gilga Farm there are countless orange trees, an old church that is being converted
into a live-performance and recording space, housing for creatives to spend the night, curious lizards, editing suites, writers rooms, a restaurant that specializes in artisanal sandwiches, and just about every tool or space any musician, director, or showrunner could dream of. Picture Skywalker Ranch but with 21 Savage or Quinta Brunson as temporary residents creating their own Empire Strikes Back.
Donald Glover is one of the most exciting and original voices in Hollywood, a writer turned comedian turned rapper turned actor turned P-Funk All-Star turned showrunner turned farmer. He named his nascent company after Gilgamesh, the mythic Mesopotamian hero who angered the gods. “Gilga is like Erewhon for culture,” he says, referring to the high-end California supermarket. “I want to work with the best people in every medium. To work toward sustainable output. The culture we’re getting from our phones is not high quality. It can be really good sometimes. And fun. But not necessarily high quality. Gilga is the filter for all of that.”
Since last year’s finale of Atlanta, a show that became the blueprint for a whole new generation of surreal dark comedies, the world has been wondering: What’s next for Donald Glover?
The first part of that answer is he’s building out Gilga, which is currently raising capital and recruiting collaborators across creative disciplines. And according to a man I just met named Connor—picture if Jesus wore denim, and was a white man—the other part of the answer is: olives, bananas, and coffee. Connor is here helping with the agricultural wing of Gilga. He rattles off the harvesting plan as he and Glover overlook one of the newly grubbed fields. “Coffee would be greeeat,” Glover mutters, squinting in reverie. He says he finally watched a documentary that Connor recommended called Regenerate Ojai, which is about the dangers of giving children fruits and vegetables sprayed with chemicals. “Any way I can help get more folks to see it, just say the word,” Glover says to Connor. White Jesus nods and thanks him.
Over the course of a week in February, Donald Glover and I spoke at length about all kinds of things: His multiple partnerships with Amazon Studios that allowed him to make Guava Island with Rihanna; Candace Owens; house parties in Hollywood; watching Saturday-morning cartoons; his father’s passing. We talked about the time he had to have emergency surgery on his face while filming the upcoming Mr. & Mrs. Smith series that he’s producing and starring in and the time The Weeknd asked him and his friends if they were “real n-ggas,” which apparently happened at Drake’s house.

#RHOA: Todd Tucker and Kandi Burruss’ Anniversary Tributes Even Left Mama Joyce in Her Feelings
Nine years ago, The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Kandi Burruss exchanged vows with producer Todd Tucker in a lavish Coming to America–themed ceremony and reception, which the cameras captured for Kandi’s Wedding.
In the years since the powerhouse duo tied the knot, they’ve continued raising Kaela Tucker and Riley Burruss (their children from their prior relationships), they’ve welcomed kids Ace and Blaze, and they’ve collaborated on countless projects and business ventures.
In honor of their anniversary on April 4, Todd shared an Instagram post featuring a photo of the bride and groom on their big day, and he wrote a caption about what it’s been like to be married to the Grammy winner.
“Wow [nine] years! This has been one of the easiest things I’ve done,” Todd wrote about marrying the XSCAPE songstress. “It hasn’t been perfect or the way most people would have done it, but that’s [OK] because it’s our journey!”
Todd went on to refer to his wife of just under a decade as “the right person,” and he thanked her for encouraging him over the years.
“When you find the right person[,] it’s easy but you still have to put in work. I want to Thank my wife for loving me, and motivating me to be the best man, father and husband,” he wrote. “I am honored to call her my wife and I look forward to spending the rest of my life with you.”
Todd Tucker Just Experienced a Career “First” with Kandi by His Side
Todd wasn’t the only one to honor the special occasion on social media. Kandi also shared two videos from the wedding on her Instagram page, and she referred to her husband as her “perfect match.”
“You have definitely made me better,” she added. “[Nine years] down [and] a lifetime to go!”
The spouses also felt the love from their friends in the comments sections of their respective posts.
Fellow XSCAPE members Tamika Scott and Tameka “Tiny” Harris wrote separate “Happy Anniversary” messages, while Kenya Moore sent along a similar message to the “love birds.” Cynthia Bailey posted, “Congrats!!! Cheers to many more years!” along with several clinking glasses emojis.
RHOA alum and RHUGT Season 3 cast member Porsha Williams, who tied the knot with Simon Guobadia in November 2022, noted that Kandi’s tribute was “beautiful” and that she was “wishing you many many more year[s] of love.” Sanya Richards-Ross, Shamea Morton, and Lesa Milan all wished the two a happy anniversary as well.
Kandi’s mom, Mama Joyce, who has had a complicated relationship with Todd in the past, offered her blessing to the pair.
“Happy anniversary to my daughter and son-in-law,” she commented. “I’m happy to say I didn’t lose a daughter I gained a son.”

#MusicNews: Adele Has Reportedly Recorded A Surprise Album
Adele has reportedly recorded a surprise album and could release it in a matter of weeks.
The pop powerhouse is known for taking years between albums, but according to a new report, she’s not wasting any time putting out her next project.
Sources close to the Grammy-winning singer tell The Sun that she has recorded some of her “most uplifting and positive songs ever” and is in talks to release a surprise album later this year.
Adele’s last album 30, which was released in November 2021, marked her first album in six years and followed her divorce from ex-husband Simon Konecki.
“Some of 30 was actually recorded before the pandemic hit so Adele sat on the record for ages during lockdown,” says a source.
Her new music will reflect her life since then, including her relationship with sports agent Rich Paul.
“Since then her life has totally transformed. She has gone from rock bottom to being madly in love and wants the world to know it,” adds the source. “Her music reflects that and the next album will be her most optimistic ever. She won’t be the queen of heartbreak ballads for much longer.”
Adele is currently headlining her “Weekends With Adele” residency in Las Vegas, which has been extended with 34 more dates between June and November. She is also planning a concert film.
“Playing to 4,000 people for 34 dates is not enough, and I know that,” Adele told fans during a recent show at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. “So I am coming back for a few weeks in June, and I’m going to release it to make sure anyone who wants to see this show can see it.”
#HipHopNews: Roddy Ricch Responds To Rich Homie Quan’s Claims Roddy Removed Rhq From Dj Drama’s New Song
Rich Homie Quan has issued an apology to Roddy Ricch after accusing "The Box" rapper of getting his verse removed from DJ Drama's I'm Really Liked That track "FMFU."
"Just got off the phone with @roddyricch everything is smooth we settled it like men," he message began. "And I want to apologize for my position at the moment and take this opportunity to show everyone that through conversations we can have solutions [love-you gesture and flexed muscle emojis] #RHQ."
It's always good to see rappers resolved their differences in a peaceful manner.

Rich Homie Quan issues statement apologizing to Roddy Ricch.
Roddy Ricch has responded to Rich Homie Quan's claims that he made DJ Drama remove him from his new song "FMFU."
On Tuesday (April 4), Roddy Ricch jumped on his Instagram Story and addressed Rich Homie Quan claims in his Instagram Live video that allegedly he told DJ Drama to remove him from Drama's new song "FMFU."
"@RICHHOMIEQUAN YOU TOO OLD FOR THIS INTERNET S**T BUT I AINT EVEN KNOW U WAS ON THE PHONE," Roddy wrote in all caps.
"I SENT DRAMA THE HOOK AND LET THEM DO THE REST," he continued. "AINT NEVER BEEN NO N***A TO STOP NOBODY FROM EATING ESPECIALLY A N***A ION EVEN KNOW."
"IM AROUND THO CHAMP," he concluded.
Roddy's message was in response to Rich Homie Quan's since-deleted Instagram Live video where he called out Roddy because he thought that he made DJ Drama remove his initial verse on "FMFU," which is from Drama's latest album, I'm Really Like That.
Furthermore, RHQ offered a challenge to Roddy — he would bet $10 million to his $1 million that his catalog is better than the California rapper's catalog.
"Roddy got that 'Box' song. I bet his catalog can’t f**k with mine," he bragged. "That’s on all the money he got in the bank."
"Since you wanted me off the song, man, let’s go back and forth, catalog to catalog," he continued. "You ain't got nothing but 'the Box' s**t because all that other s**t wack."
It looks like this could turn into a Verzuz battle. Somebody get Swizz Beatz on the phone.
Lizzo Makes Surprise Cameo On 'The Mandalorian'
Lizzo is joining the “Star Wars” universe. The Grammy-winning singer made a surprise cameo during Season 3 of the Disney+ series “The Mandalorian.” In episode 6, “Guns for Hire,” the “Truth Hurts” hitmaker played Duchess, the wife of Jack Black’s Captain Bombardier. Together, the wealthy married couple rule the independent planet of Plazir-15.
During the episode, Baby Yoda aka Grogu used the Force to help Duchess win during a game of space bocce ball. In turn, Lizzo’s character picked up a sword and knighted Grogu.
The unexpected cameos, which also included Christopher Lloyd, left “Star Wars” fans shook. “‘Baby Yoda gets knighted by Lizzo and Jack Black’ was not on my 2023 bingo card,” tweeted one fan.
After the episode aired, an excited Lizzo tweeted, “I’m in Star Wars YALL!”
Lizzo has shown her love for “Stars Wars” in the past. In 2021, she dressed as Baby Yoda for Halloween.
In other Lizzo-related news, her first-look deal with Amazon Studios has been extended following the success of her Emmy-winning series “Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls.”
Drug Dealer pleads guilty in death of actor Michael K. Williams
A Brooklyn drug dealer pleaded guilty Wednesday to providing “The Wire” actor Michael K. Williams with fentanyl-laced heroin, causing his death.
Irvin Cartagena's plea to a charge of conspiring to distribute drugs was entered in Manhattan federal court. Sentencing was set by U.S. District Judge Ronnie Abrams for Aug. 18, when Cartagena will face a mandatory minimum of five years in prison and the possibility of as many as 40 years.
The famed actor, who also starred in films and other TV series including “Boardwalk Empire,” overdosed in his Brooklyn penthouse apartment in September 2021. Authorities said he died hours after buying the heroin from Cartagena on a Brooklyn sidewalk in a deal that was recorded by a security camera.
Cartagena, 39, signed a plea agreement with prosecutors stipulating that the mix of heroin and fentanyl he sold Williams resulted in his death. His lawyer, Sean Maher, declined comment.
U.S. Attorney Damian Williams, who is not related to the actor, said in a statement that the sale occurred in “broad daylight in New York City, feeding addiction and causing tragedy.”
“In doing so, he dealt the fatal dose that killed Michael K. Williams,” Williams said.
Prosecutors said Cartagena and his alleged co-conspirators continued to sell fentanyl-laced heroin around residential apartment buildings in Brooklyn and Manhattan even after they learned of the actor's death. Another defendant in the case pleaded guilty Tuesday.
Williams' death came despite an investigation by the New York Police Department that placed a paid informant making controlled heroin buys on the same block where Williams bought drugs.
The day after, the informant went back to buy more drugs from the same group and recorded a conversation in which some of them talked about Williams’ overdose. One denied selling any drugs containing fentanyl.
Williams’ “stick-up boy” character Omar Little on “The Wire” — a fictionalized look at the underpinnings of Baltimore that ended in 2008 but remains popular in streaming — was based on a real-life figure.
He created another classic character as Chalky White in HBO’s “Boardwalk Empire” and also appeared in “12 Years a Slave,” “Assassin’s Creed” and other films.
In interviews, Williams had spoken about his battles with addiction.
Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler Issues Denial Over 1970s Sexual Abuse Allegations
Last December, a woman sued Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler, alleging that he sexually assaulted and sexually battered her when she was a minor in the 1970s. Now, Tyler has issued a denial of all of the allegations, Rolling Stone reports and Pitchfork can confirm.
Tyler’s response was filed last week in Los Angeles County Superior Court, and includes claims that plaintiff Julia Misley (previously known as Julia Holcomb) consented to their sexual relationship at the time, and that Tyler had immunity as her legal guardian at the time the allegations occurred. Misley claimed in the original complaint that Tyler convinced her mother to grant him guardianship over her when she was 16. Tyler also requested that the lawsuit be dismissed.
In the original lawsuit, Misley alleged that she met Tyler in 1973 when she was 16 years old and he was 25. The two apparently had a relationship that lasted three years, and Misley alleged that she “was powerless to resist” the singer’s “power, fame, and substantial financial ability,” and that he “coerced and persuaded Plaintiff into believing this was a ‘romantic love affair.’” Misley sued Tyler for sexual assault, sexual battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The age of consent in California is 18.
At the time of her filing, Misley also released a statement regarding the lawsuit that mentioned Tyler: “I want this action to expose an industry that protects celebrity offenders, to cleanse and hold accountable an industry that both exploited and allowed me to be exploited for years, along with so many other naΓ―ve and vulnerable kids and adults,” she wrote. “Because I know that I am not the only one who suffered abuse in the music industry, I feel it is time for me to take this stand and bring this action, to speak up and stand in solidarity with the other survivors. I hope that from this action, we can make the music industry safer, expose the predators in it, and expose those forces in the industry that have both enabled and created a culture of permissiveness and self-protection of themselves and the celebrity offenders among them.”
Following Tyler’s denial, Misley’s attorneys issued a statement calling Tyler’s behavior “astonishing, galling, and arrogant,” and saying that the singer is “gaslighting” their client. “Tyler’s statement is more than a weak attempt to shift blame—it is a real and dangerous public safety threat to any vulnerable child who is currently in any kind of legal guardianship,” they wrote. “Assuming care for a child—whether that child is 16 months or 16 years—does not and has never implied any type of consent to sexually abuse that child. To say any different is morally and legally repugnant.”

Jen Shah creating prison play ‘Real Housewives of Bryan’ with fellow inmates
Jen Shah won’t stay out of the limelight despite being behind bars.
The former “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star is creating a play with her fellow inmates — aptly titled “The Real Housewives of Bryan” in honor of their prison camp, her manager told TMZ Thursday.
Chris Giovanni said the production is still in early development because Shah is teaching some of her crew how to read and write.
The script reportedly will revolve around the real-life “Housewives” locked up at FPC Bryan in Texas.
Naturally, the personalities are “cranked up to 11,” Giovanni shared.
Jen Shah is bringing live entertainment to prison.
The former “RHOSLC” star is writing a play titled “Real Housewives of Bryan” for her and her inmates behind bars.
He also said Shah, 49, has been working in the prison’s educational department and library since surrendering herself in February.
Despite her busy schedule of playwriting and teaching, the convicted felon also has been keeping up with her fitness; Giovanni said his client has lost about 15 pounds from working out daily and eating less, as she finds the food subpar.
She also has been participating in Ramadan to keep in touch with her faith, so she is fasting and praying daily with other Muslim inmates.
She’s also teaching some inmates how to read and write, which is putting a delay on production.
Giovanni didn’t immediately return request for additional comment.
Shah was sentenced to six and a half years in prison in January after pleading guilty last July to wire fraud. She had scammed thousands of people, mainly the elderly, in a massive telemarketing scheme.
The former Bravolebrity’s sentence was reduced by one year after she started serving time. She is now scheduled to be released on Aug. 30, 2028.
“I have spoken with my client Jen Shah over the phone this week. She is doing well and remains committed toward making her victims whole,” her rep previously shared.
“She has initiated her payments towards restitution, and we hope to have her home as soon as possible so that she may resume life with her family and work, putting this chapter of her life behind her.”
Stacey Abrams joins Howard University in esteemed faculty role
Stacey Abrams became a symbol of the power of voter registration in her home state of Georgia, helping to sway The Peach State in Biden’s favor in 2020. She played an instrumental part in galvanizing Black voters across the country and helping advance conversations surrounding Black citizens in politics.
Abrams is now taking her expertise to the academic world. Howard University announced today (April 5) that she will be joining the institution as its first-ever Ronald W. Walters endowed chair for race and Black politics. The chair will be a part of the Ronald W. Walters Leadership and Public Policy Center, named after the late activist and political scholar, Dr. Ronald W. Walters.
“Stacey Abrams has proven herself an essential voice and eager participant in protecting American democracy — not just for certain populations, but for everyone with the fundamental right to make their voices heard,” Howard University President Wayne A. I. Frederick said in a statement. “As the inaugural Ronald W. Walters endowed chair, Ms. Abrams’ selection not only honors the work and legacy of renowned political strategist and scholar Dr. Ronald Walters, it expands on that legacy by bringing Howard students in dialogue with a contemporary candidate whose work has directly influenced today’s political landscape.”
Abrams, herself an HBCU grad, is thrilled to be taking on the role, especially since she had “the privilege of knowing and learning from Dr. Walters.” For her, the job couldn’t come at a more critical time. “We are entering an inflection point in American politics where the conversation of race and Black politics will be a central facet,” the “While Justice Sleeps” author told The Washington Post. “And having the chance to help guide part of the conversation for young people who are studying at Howard University is an exceptional opportunity.”
Abrams’ work will involve fostering and inspiring research and discussions on how to solve massive societal problems that affect people in the African diaspora. On top of her day-to-day duties, Abrams will also be in charge of helming the Ronald W. Walters Speakers Series, which will bring in guests representing diverse perspectives to speak on a wide range of topics.
Christina Aguilera Talks Facing Double Standards During Justin Timberlake Tour
Christina Aguilera is opening up about the "double standards" she dealt with on tour with Justin Timberlake in 2003.
Twenty years ago, the former Mouseketeers embarked on a lengthy North American tour to promote their respective albums, Stripped and Justified. But while things looked like a huge success from the outside, Aguilera revealed that touring with Timberlake was a less than pleasant experience behind the scenes, as it showed her just how sexist the media and music industry actually was in the early aughts.
On the latest episode of Call Her Daddy, the "Beautiful" singer recalled the way she was treated in comparison to her tour mate, who was given much more creative control and faced far less scrutiny than she did.
“There was a lot of double standards with it,” as Aguilera said. “Because I went on tour with Justin, we did the 'Stripped [&] Justified' tour, and there were things where I was just like, ‘Why is it okay for him and not okay for me, you know what I mean?'”
Explaining that she was "constantly pushing back in my way,” Aguilera also added that her interactions were "so inappropriate sometimes," specifically when it concerned "the things [the media] asked." After all, this took place during a time when she began "owning her sexuality," which host Alex Cooper pointed out would lead to Aguilera being "'called a slut,'" whereas Timberlake would be able to maintain his image as "'the boy next door'" if he did the same exact thing.
Not only that, but the Grammy winner also went on to note that this era was keen on pitting women against each other, as evidenced by endless tabloid stories about her rumored feuds with artists like Pink and Britney Spears. And for Aguilera, she remembered it feeling like getting constantly "punched in the face," saying that it hurt when "you're making music and doing something you love and then someone spinning something so negative about it."
However, the star acknowledged that things have changed a lot since then. But even though we still have a long way to go, Aguilera is just "excited to see more women supporting women," minus the industry "middle men" who made that virtually impossible two decades ago.
Diddy Confirms How Much Money He Pays Sting Every Day for Sampling 'Every Breath You Take'
Sean “Diddy” Combs is clarifying how much money he pays Sting per day.
If you don’t know, Diddy sampled Sting‘s famed 1983 song “Every Breath You Take” on his own hit, 1997′s “I’ll Be Missing You.”
In a resurfaced interview from 2018 on The Breakfast Club, Sting was asked if it was true he received money every single day from Diddy for using the song. At the time, Sting confirmed he gets $2,000 per day for using the song.
In the clip, Sting confirms that Diddy asked him for permission to use the sample after the fact, and thus, has to legally pay him every day for the rest of his life.
“We’re very good friends now,” Sting said, adding “It was a beautiful version of that song.”
However, on Twitter on Wednesday (April 5), Diddy clarified that the price has now gone up!
Diddy wrote, “Nope. 5K a day. Love to my brother @OfficialSting.”
If you’re wondering, Diddy can DEFINITELY afford the $5,000 per day after his 2022 salary was revealed!
Interior Designer David Netto Is Going Viral for His Email to Candace Owens' Husband
David Netto, a Los Angeles-based interior designer, is going viral for an email he sent to conservative commentator Candace Owens‘ husband.
If you don’t know, Candace Owens went viral several years ago when Kanye West publicly supported her views. In 2022, they posed together in “White Lives Matter” shirts.
Well, Vanity Fair recently did a profile on her and she told a story of what happened when her and her husband wanted to hire an interior designer. Owens is married to British-born businessman George Farmer.
David had completed work on their friends’ home in Nashville, and they contacted him via his website.
“My husband wrote the most polite email because he’s always polite, he’s very English. We didn’t know if we could afford a designer or anything,” she explained during the interview.
She then provided the email that was sent back to them, which read: “Dear George, thank you for your inquiry. I’d rather get beat in the ass with a wooden plank than ever go near either of you. Kind regards, David.”
In response to that email, she told VF, “If a white conservative male had written that email to an outspoken Black liberal, he would’ve lost everything. They would’ve said it was like Jim Crow.”
Vanity Fair added that when they reached out to him for a comment about the email, “Netto pointed out that he’d only addressed Farmer, a white man like himself, and said ‘It’s not a race thing, it’s a terrorism/amorality thing.’”

Rihanna’s Latest Maternity Look Is a Brown Bodycon Minidress, Louis Vuitton Bag, and Trucker Hat
Rihanna kept her bold maternity style streak going with a dinner date look that was equal parts casual and dressy. The singer, who is pregnant with her and boyfriend A$AP Rocky’s second child, was photographed arriving at Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica with Rocky and their son on Saturday. Rihanna was dressed in a brown bodycon dress and oversized gold coat. She accessorized with an AWGE trucker hat (merch for his creative agency) and Louis Vuitton bag.
The photo agency noted that the family dined at Giorgio Baldi for an hour and 15 minutes. On their way out, Rocky was asked (likely by a photographer) whether he felt pressure to propose to Rihanna soon. Rocky just laughed the question off, the agency reported.
In a British Vogue interview published in February, Rihanna spoke about her and Rocky growing closer after welcoming their son last May. “We’re best friends with a baby,” she said. “We have to be on the same page, but we’ve always kind of had that in our relationship. Everything changes when you have a baby but I wouldn’t say it’s done anything but made us closer.”
While she did not address whether she wanted to marry Rocky someday, she did make it clear that she wanted more children. “Listen, I’m down for whatever,” she said. “My wish would be I would like to have more kids but whatever God wants for me, I’m here. I’m open [to whatever baby gender next]. Girl, boy. Whatever.”
Don Lemon’s Rep Claps Back at Report Alleging Misogyny, ‘Diva-like Behavior’
*A rep for Don Lemon has clapped back at reports that the CNN anchor is a misogynist with a history of “diva-like behavior” on the job.
According to Variety, Lemon previously called one of his producers fat to her face and mocked Nancy Grace on-air. A source close to Grace said “she thinks he’s an a**” and that Lemon was always “rude, dismissive and really unfamiliar with the [news] content being discussed.”
“That was the beginning of when you knew that Don was kind of volatile and didn’t say good things about women,” an insider said of the Grace incident, OK Magazine reports.
Additionally, Lemon sent threatening texts to Kyra Phillips, his former co-anchor.
Variety’s report includes accounts from Lemon’s former and current colleagues who “painted a picture of a journalist who flouted rules and cozied up to power all while displaying open hostility to many female co-workers.”
According to the report, Lemon told Soledad O’Brien that she isn’t Black and he once fumed on social media about Anderson Cooper getting more airtime than him.
“That led to a come-to-Jesus moment,” a senior executive spilled, OK! reports. “Don was told, ‘Look, you’ve got to address your behavior. Your performance as a reporter is great. It’s your behavior that’s gotta improve. It’s what’s going to derail you if you’re not careful.’”
One female colleague said of Lemon, “He likes celebrity. He likes fame, likes power. He was no longer the same person.”
“Don always wanted to be front and center on anything high profile, especially anything involving race,” another colleague shared.
The Variety report also alleged that Lemon has repeatedly avoided “facing any meaningful consequences.”
A representative for Lemon said these defamatory allegations are “reckless.”
“The story, which is riddled with patently false anecdotes and no concrete evidence, is entirely based on unsourced, unsubstantiated, 15-year-old anonymous gossip,” the representative said in a statement to The Times.
“It’s amazing and disappointing that Variety would be so reckless,” the rep added.
Jemele Hill Slams Barstool Sports Founder for Calling Angel Reese a ‘Classless Piece of Sh*t’
*Jemele Hill slammed Barstool Sports Founder Dave Portnoy after he called LSU player Angel Reese a “classless piece of sh*t.”
As we reported previously, LSU’s Reese is catching head for her on-court antics during her team’s title game win Sunday over Iowa.
Reese, a Black woman, is being attacked online for taunting Iowa star Caitlin Clark. Clark is known for using WWE wrestler John Cena’s signature hand gesture “you can’t see me” to her opponents.
When Reese served up the same move to Iowa guard Clark — and also pointed at her ring finger to signify a championship — the anti-Black crowd rushed to Twitter to express their fury.
Many Twitters users noted that when Clark uses the move, she is labeled “competitive” but a Black player doing it gets called “ghetto.”
Portnoy called the Black basketball player a “classless piece of sh*t” for using the “you can’t see me” hand gesture at Clark during Sunday’s game.
When Hill caught wind of Portnoy’s comments, she tweeted “So I’m going to pick this fight. F**k you.”
Shaquille O’Neal also called out Portnoy, “and so is your mother,” he tweeted, as reported by the NY Post.
One Twitter user said in response to Portnoy’s post, “Grown yt man with several r@pe allegations calls Black college girl a “classless piece of sh*t” after she wins a National Championship,” the person wrote, adding “Lmao, you can’t make this up.”
Stephen A. Smith also noted that the hate Reese is receiving is due to race.
Meanwhile, Reese remains unapologetic for using the hand gesture.
“I’m too hood, I’m too ghetto. Y’all told me that all year,” she said during a recent press conference. “But when other people do it, y’all don’t say nothing. So this is for the girls that look like me.”

Bobby Brown Fans Send Well-Wishes After the Singer Pulls Out of Two New Edition Shows
It has not even been a month since New Edition’s 40th-anniversary tour began, and Bobby Brown already has bowed out of two shows.
The singer has been on the road for weeks with his group members Ralph Tresvant, Ronnie DeVoe, Michael Bivens, Ricky Bell, and Johnny Gill, but now fans are concerned about his well-being.
According to All Hip Hop, the “My Prerogative” performer’s attorney, Christopher Brown, said Brown missed the group’s shows in Houston and Dallas due to exhaustion.
“To my New Edition Texas fans, I love you, and I’m sorry I missed you this weekend. San Diego-Be ready!! You will get the best of me and my New Edition brothers,” the R&B crooner said in a statement obtained by the outlet.
New Edition is set to perform in San Diego, California, at the Pechanga Arena on April 6. Future tour stops include Baltimore, Tampa, Las Vegas, Nashville, and other cities.
After Brown’s absence made news, several fans sent over their well-wishes and hopeful messages wishing him a “speedy recovery.”
“No Love Lost! Speedy Recovery! Take brisk walks early in the AM! Drink lots of water! Turn off all devices daily 1 hr nap and @ bed time! It’s essential because of ur schedule you have! “When the body is tired, the mind can be no good” making things difficult to function.”
“Praying for a speedy recovery for Bobby.”
Brown and his fellow band members kicked off their Legacy tour on March 9 alongside the R&B trio Guy and “Twisted” singer Keith Sweat. Tank also joined the tour as a surprise guest.
This news arrives one week after a viral video of Brown visibly tired as he walked off stage in the middle of the group’s performance.
In a recent interview with Sherri Shepherd, New Edition discussed how their brotherhood remained solid despite past feuds, betrayals, and hardships.
“We pray together a lot,” Bivens said. “We have a group text for business, personal holidays. And me, ’cause, you know, I get up early, I’m hitting them at four, 5:30.”
He continued, “And I think as everyone wakes up and chimes in, the brotherhood just dominoes effects. So, it sets the tone when we’re home away from each other that when we see each other, we’re just hugging and dappin’.”
The Boys II Men founder then received an array of applause after suggesting, “With all of this that goes on in the business, there’s a lot of stuff that separates you. But for 40 years we’ve been jumping hurdles.”
New Edition came on the scene in the early ‘80s and completely shifted the template for boy bands. Their pop-style sound paved the way for several boy bands to come, such as N’Sync, Jagged Edge, and more.
Their talent as a group was undeniable, and the solo careers of Brown and Gill were just as incredible.
In 2017, the three-part biographical mini-series “The New Edition Story” dropped on BET, and, according to Bell, the popular trilogy brought in 39 million views.
AND FINALLY FROM “THE CRAZY PEOPLE SHOPPING AT WALMART” FILES
HAVE A GREAT DAY ALL!!!
