#RHOA: AwwwwwwwLooky!  Kandi Burruss Got Ace Wells Tucker a Hot Wheels Cake for His 4th Birthday!
At just 4 years old, Kandi Burruss' adorable son Ace Well Tucker has his very own YouTube channel — and he's had his own Instagram account for years. (450,000 followers hang onto his every post. NBD.) Granted, it'll be a few years before the little one gets his own set of wheels. When his 16th birthday comes, we can only hope Ace will have his sister Riley's luck in getting the car of his dreams. But in the meantime, his mama gifted him with a pretty sweet placeholder.
To celebrate his 4th birthday on January 6, Ace hosted a gymnasium bash. There were games, presents, and a gigantic Hot Wheels cake that hinted at an early passion for cars. With an edible tire as its base, the three-tier confection had frosted flames, checkered stripes, and its very own racetrack studded with candles and cars. We can practically hear this thing room:
That's not the only treat the birthday boy got this year. At home, a cake just for Ace had brightly frosted balloons —  which stayed intact until Riley playfully mashed his face into the frosting. Such are the hazards of being the birthday boy.

#Empire: There May Be A Possible ‘Empire’ Cookie Spinoff, And Teases Series Finale Without Jussie Smollett!
Almost from the moment Empire made a splashy debut in January 2015 to huge ratings and instant pop culture staple status, there had been talk of expanding the franchise with offshoots.

Early in the show’s run, the focus was on potential prequels, including one about young Cookie Lyon, the character played by Taraji P. Henson on Empire. Over the past few months, there has been increasing chatter about a potential sequel headlined by Henson as the larger-than-life Cookie, which series creators Lee Daniels and Danny Strong had reportedly embraced.
“We have talked about it but there has been no pitch, and there has been no deals,” Fox entertainment chief Michael Thorn said Tuesday at TCA. “Would we like to keep Taraji on our air for as long as possible? Of course!”

“We have talked and continue to talk with the producers about spinoffs all the time, but when you have a show that’s iconic, if we are going to do it, it’s got to be great and hopefully worthy of being in the same sentence as the original,” he said, noting that there are ongoing conversations but “nothing formal.”
Thorn also teased the upcoming series finale of Empire.

“We are coming down on our final season of Empire, and we have really exciting things planned for the finale,” he said. “We just heard recently the final episode pitches, and our feeling is that we are going to go out as epically as we came in.”
The finale will not feature original series regular Jussie Smollett who exited last season amid controversy over a possible staged hate attack.
“He is not coming back,” Thorn said, noting that Smollett’s character Jamal will likely be acknowledged.

“It’s a shame,” Thorn said of the scandal, which took a toll on the cast and creative team of Empire but added that “the show is bigger than what happened to him.”

Martin Lawrence Says He Left 'Martin' Over Tisha Campbell Sexual Harassment Claims!
More than 20 years after his self-titled sitcom went off the air, Martin Lawrence is opening up about what led to the show’s demise. In an interview with GQ magazine, Lawrence reveled that he left Martin after his co-star, Tisha Campbell, accused him of abuse and sexual harassment.
Although Lawrence initially stated, “It was just time to end” the hit Fox series, he addressed Campbell's past allegations. “None of that was true. It was all a lot of bullshit.”

Campbell abruptly quit Martin in 1997, following a string of incidents involving Lawrence, which included him getting arrested after acting erratically while waving a gun in the middle of an intersection. According to a 1997 People magazine report, producers sued Campbell for quitting the show and she countersued with accusations against Lawrence. The parties reached an out-of-court settlement and Campbell agreed to return to the show on the condition that she be allowed to film scenes separate from Lawrence.

Lawrence and Campbell have since moved on and have a good relationship, but never spoke about Campbell's claims.
“We don't need to talk about something that just didn't happen,” said Lawrence. “So I just decided to walk away from the show. I just decided to end it. People said that I got canceled, but that wasn't the case. I decided to just leave the show.”

“I love Tisha,” he continued. “I’ve seen her then and now, now and then, always with nothing but love. I have nothing but love for her, and I always have.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Lawrence reflects on his career beginnings, feeling overworked at the height of his stardom, and taking a break from the entertainment world. The Maryland native also touches on the turbulence of his past, such as  the aforementioned 1996 arrest for carrying a concealed weapon, slipping into a coma, and learning to walk again.

Now that he’s had time off from the spotlight, Lawrence laments that he’s still “hungry” for new projects. “I love feeding my family, I love helping people, I love taking care of people. And the only way to do that is to keep the train going and hopefully, due to the grace of God, I'll be able to stop the train when I'm ready to stop.”

Nicki Minaj's new Madame Tussauds waxwork Has Fans Angry!
Nicki Minaj fans are calling for her to take action after Madame Tussauds Berlin unveiled a new waxwork of her.
The lifesize figure of the Good Form singer was revealed at the German celebrity wax museum yesterday, prompting a flurry of comments from Twitter users claiming it does not resemble Minaj.
Some fans went so far as to call it disrespectful. The waxwork is wearing a replica of the outfit from the 37-year-old singer’s 2014 music video for Anaconda and posed in the same way – but the face does not obviously resemble ther.
Minaj has yet to comment but many fans have expressed outrage on her behalf.

It is not the first time Madame Tussauds has faced criticism for getting celebrity waxworks wrong. In 2017 some fans commented that a new waxwork of Beyonce appeared “whitewashed” and that its skin tone was lighter than the singer’s own.

#FASHIONFILES: Lupita Nyong’o Rocks An Apple-Green Red-Carpet Moment!
Lupita Nyong’o might have been absent from the Golden Globes, but the British Vogue cover star made a splash at the New York Film Critics Circle Awards Gala. The actor wore look 27, an acid-green dress with pleated skirts and flowing caped shoulders, from Valentino’s spring/summer 2020 collection – the one that saw Pierpaolo Piccioli practice grisaille, the 16th-century technique through which colour is stripped away and motifs are realised in white. Save for a handful of fluoro confections, like Nyong’o’s, and a string of jungle-printed looks, the catwalk edit was pure.
The tropical intarsia dresses wouldn’t have looked out of place in Nyongo’s recent holiday wardrobe. While in Ghana, she visited Studio 189, a social enterprise promoting African craftsmanship, including hand-batik and kente weaving in vibrant hues. Back in New York and firmly on the awards season trail, Nyong’o’s neon ensemble seemed like an extension of the colour-saturated fashion she had just immersed herself in.
Nyong’o was crowned the best actress of 2019 by the New York Film Critics Circle for her leading role in Jordan Peele’s thriller, Us. During the press trail for the film, she and stylist Micaela Erlanger were inspired by unsettling tropes, including American Psycho’s Patrick Bateman and creepy carnival-esque clowns. “The red carpet doesn’t need to be this precious thing,” Erlanger recently told Vogue of her creative working relationship with her client. “It’s an opportunity to have fun, take risks, and express yourself.” If she had to describe a Lupita look in one word, it would be “vibrant” – just like her Valentino.

DJ Envy Responds To Foxy Brown On 'The Breakfast Club'!
Power 105.1 FM's The Breakfast Club recently had Don Pooh on as a guest, and DJ Envy asked him a host of questions, including what happened to Foxy, whom Pooh managed early in her career.
“Whatever happened with Foxy? She had an album and she had another album that came out and then it seemed like she just dwindled off,” Envy says to Pooh.

"She was doing her thing for a while," Pooh answered. "She actually put out three albums. She’s a mom now and she just fell back a little bit. She had an issue with her hearing so she just kind of fell back so hopefully we will hear from her soon."
The "Get Me Home" rapper took issues with this and went to her social media account and cast aspersions against Envy. The post has since been deleted.

“FISH A** ENVY @djenvy Act stupid if u want! Damn near broke ur BACK carrying MY RECORDS & CHANEL LUGGAGE Til’ DEF JAM sent u back to the HOOD!!!” Foxy wrote in the post. “4 MULTI PLATINUM ALBUMS F–K BOY!!! PLAY NICE! GAVE YOU LIFE! She purposely LOW B—ch! Got injured, bussed back, BIRTHED A GORGEOUS A– BABY GIRL C**ks—– 2020 the POP OFF!!!!! AGGY cuz we ain’t do Breakfast Club! D**KRIDER, let KING B–ch leave your mouth Dem #BROOKLYNBOYZ outside! #LIL’DJCLUE.”

This week, DJ Envy issued a response to the Brooklyn rapper.
"The funny thing about Foxy Brown is she's a little delirious," explains Envy. "I used to DJ for Foxy Brown. I used to be with her writing team that used to help write for her. I actually produced a couple of joints for her. One of them made it on my album, one of them on her album."
"I remember her last show, we were on the tour bus," Envy continued. "She got paid $70,000 to perform." He explained that Foxy proceeded to pull up in front of the Louis Vuitton store and allocate the funds to her team.

"I grab my envelope, I open my up envelope, and it was $300. I said what can I buy at Louis Vuitton for $300? Maybe a keychain, maybe a sock. After that, I said I ain't ever DJing for her again."

Woman Who Inspired Jennifer Lopez’s Character In “Hustlers” Is Suing Actress’ Production Company For $40 Million!
The woman who inspired Jennifer Lopez’s character in the film “Hustlers” has filed a lawsuit against Lopez’s production company.
Samantha Barbash wants Lopez to pay $40 million in damages because she claims Lopez’s production company, Nuyorican Productions, used her likeness and story without her consent, according to TMZ. Barbash claims producers approached her about cosigning the movie but instead went on with production despite not having her permission.

TMZ reports that Barbash initially spoke out about her concerns back in September when she told TMZ that she wasn’t impressed by the deal Nuyorican offered her, so she turned down the opportunity to work with the studio. “They pretty much basically stole my story,” Barbash said. “I wouldn’t sign my rights away… I wasn’t giving up my TV and film rights for peanuts. J. Lo doesn’t work for free. Why would I? I’m a businesswoman.”

In addition to not receiving her consent, Barbash also claims in the lawsuit that the film negatively portrays her by suggesting she was “using and manufacturing illegal substances in her home where she lived with her child.” Her lawsuit is seeking $20 million in compensatory damages and $20 million in punitive damages, which comes to $40 million from the production company. But she didn’t stop there; she also wants producers to turn over all copies of the film.

Meanwhile, Lopez is looking at the possibility of winning an Oscar for her role in the film, which received commercial and critical success, Complex reports.

Taylor Swift, Janet Mock to be honored by GLAAD!
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Taylor Swift and writer-director-producer Janet Mock will be honored at the GLAAD Media Awards for their advocacy for LGBTQ issues.

The pop star will receive the Vanguard Award, which is presented to allies who have made a significant difference in promoting acceptance of LGBTQ people. Mock, who is best known for her work on the FX series “Pose," will receive the Stephen F. Kolzak Award, presented to a LGBTQ media professional.
They will be honored at the GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles on April 16.

Swift has been outspoken proponent for the Equality Act, which would prohibit discrimination based on sex, gender or sexual orientation in a wide variety of areas. Her video for her hit “You Need To Calm Down”also featured prominent LGBTQ celebrities and mocked those who were against gay marriage.

Mock, who wrote a book about her life as a transgender woman, is a writer and director for Ryan Murphy's “Pose," about 1980s ballroom culture with a large LGBTQ cast. She also signed a deal with Netflix in 2019 to produce content for the streaming service.

Tyler Perry Says He Writes All Of His Shows: “I Have No Writers Room”!
Tyler Perry has revealed he writes all of his own TV shows, without any assistance from a writers room.

Perry made the revelation Monday in a video on Instagram. The clip shows the entertainment mogul narrating as a camera pans across a stack of scripts from his Oprah Winfrey Network drama The Haves and The Have Nots; his new BET+ series The Oval and Sistas; and other projects.

“I don’t know if you know this, but all shows on television have a writers room and most of the time there are ten people, 12, whatever that write on these television shows,” Perry explained. “I have no writers room. Nobody writes any of my work. I write it all.”
Perry then said he posted the video to make a point.
“I wrote all of these scripts by myself in 2019. What’s my point? Work ethic!” he added.
Many of Perry’s fans praised him in the comments section for his “focus” but he did get some pushback, particularly from writers.

One person said they found his productivity “amazing” but added: “Doesn’t hurt to hire more writers/directors to improve ya content. Share some of that.”
For those wanting to watch Perry’s work, The Haves and The Have Nots returns to OWN on Tuesday, January 7 at 9/8c. Sistas and The Oval return to BET on Wednesday, January 8.

Silvio Horta, ‘Ugly Betty’ creator, found dead in apparent suicide!
Silvio Horta, creator of ABC’s popular series “Ugly Betty,” was found dead in a Miami motel room on Tuesday in an apparent suicide. He was 45.
Sources tell Variety that Horta died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. A representative for Horta confirmed his death, but declined to comment on the nature of it.
The American version of “Ugly Betty,” which starred America Ferrera, ran for four seasons on ABC from 2006 to 2010 and was adapted from the hit Colombian telenovela “Yo soy Betty, la fea.” Horta served as showrunner and head writer on the comedy-drama.

Ferrera posted on Instagram about his death, saying, “His talent and creativity brought me and so many others such joy and light.”
The show centered on Betty Suarez, a young, smart Mexican American woman from Queens who lands a job at an upscale fashion magazine in Manhattan. During its run, the show won two Golden Globes, one for best comedy series and one for Ferrera. The original series was created in 1999 by Fernando Gaitan and ran until 2001.
Horta, who was born in Miami to Cuban parents and majored in film at NYU, had a project with Mary J. Blige in development at Fox in 2018. The prospective series, titled “Move,” was inspired by the life of famed choreographer and creative director Laurieann Gibson, who created routines for the likes of BeyoncΓ©, Michael Jackson, Alicia Keys and Lady Gaga.

His big break came in 1998 when he wrote the screenplay for horror-thriller “Urban Legend.” The script was turned into a successful feature starring Jared Leto and “Dune” star Alicia Witt.
Horta moved into TV in the early 2000s with the SciFi series “The Chronicle,” which ran for a single season and starred Octavia Spencer, among others. In 2003, Horta continued his science fiction run with the UPN series “Jake 2.0.” The series, which also only lasted one season, revolved around a computer expert (Christopher Graham) who, while working for the NSA, was accidentally infected by nanobots, giving him superhuman powers.

Horta’s most recent credit was for writing the 2015 TV movie “The Curse of the Fuentes Women.”
