Lenny Kravitz for Flaunt - The Transience Issue 2018
The truth is that Lenny Kravitz almost didn’t come out of the jungle. He was alone there for six months, his company primarily consisting of wild monkeys and parrots. In the afternoons Lenny Kravitz would ride a horse into the fields, which sounds like an image you’d see in an advertisement for artisanal tequila but which is something Lenny Kravitz actually did during this episode of his life, when he was off the grid and existing in-sync with the rhythms of nature on his farm in the remote mountains of Brazil.

“I mean, there were parrots like ones that you see in a store and buy for thousands of dollars,” he says, “the multicolored ones—green, blue, red—flying around like pigeons.”

Kravitz did not want to leave his agrarian enclave. But to own a farm in the remote mountains of Brazil, one must be either a Brazilian farmer or a rockstar, and Lenny Kravitz, falling into the latter category, couldn’t just disappear into the jungle on horseback. He was instead, in time, coaxed off the farm by his management team.

“I was like, ‘I don’t know man, I think I’m just going to be a farmer,’ you know? When I was there, I noticed the presence of God.”
The point in Kravitz telling you this story is for him to say that a heavy dose of nature always connects him with his sense of spirit, that the middle of nowhere feels holy to him. The point in me telling you this story is to affirm that yes, Kravitz is as cool and heady as you always suspected he might be. With accessories including a remote South American farm, his life is also nothing like yours or mine, because he is an actual rockstar, a creature as magnificent and rare as those kaleidoscopic Brazilian parrots.

Take, for example, where we’re currently sitting, Kravitz and I—on a patio on a bluff overlooking the Pacific. The sun glitters on the water and waves crash on the beach below, soundtracking an otherwise still Thursday afternoon in Malibu. Kravitz is staying here while he’s in town, in the guesthouse of this lush estate, which belongs to a friend who’s never named and who never materializes, but, with a house with this view, is surely a good friend to have. Kravitz is wearing black pants, no shoes. The buttons of his black velvet shirt are undone on the bottom and top, revealing a tattoo on his left pectoral. His dreads form a mop on his head, and he’s without sunglasses. He sports two nose rings—a stud and a hoop—one in each nostril. Altogether it’s a rocker-shaman look few people could pull off. Kravitz is pulling it off.
We’re here to discuss his new album, Raise Vibration, which is a very shaman-rock album title. The dozen songs on the LP came to Kravitz in his dreams, a not uncommon creative process for the 54-year-old musician, who sparked his career three decades ago with 1989’s psych-rock funk warrior call to arms, Let Love Rule. Kravitz dreamt some of that first album too, hearing a chorus or verse or melody or an entire song in his sleep and then rising to capture it on a recorder kept on his nightstand. You’ve gotta get up and do this no matter how comfortable you are in bed, he says, otherwise the music gets away.

#RHoA: WAIT WHAT? Porsha Williams Thinks Phaedra Parks Should Have Gotten Another Season On ‘RHoA’…But Kandi says NO!
A very forgiving Porsha Williams has confessed that she has been talking to Phaedra Parks after the horrible reunion show of The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
Porsha, who was once very close with the attorney, was caught in a web of lies that almost destroyed Kandi Burruss’ reputation.

The pregnant reality TV star has been on a promotional tour to push the Bravo series, and she was asked about her friendship with Phaedra. She was also quizzed about the lawyer’s potential return to series.
Porsha had some kind words for her pal; she spoke about forgiveness and said that she should have been given another season to explain herself and apologize.

Fans were happy to hear Porsha talk about Phaedra in that manner and applauded Porsha for her diplomatic answers.
Kandi recently appeared on Watch What Happens Live, and a caller asked her more or less the same question.
The fan stated: “Now that you and Porsha are in a better place, do you think you and Phaedra will ever come to mends?”

Kandi did not hold back; she replied: “Nah. Absolutely not. Absolutely not. That was too far. That was too much. I’ve never heard anything [from her]. No apologies, no nothing. And I’m cool with that. We don’t ever have to talk again, and I’m good. Let’s move forward.”

Seems like Kandi is ready to have this situation linger a little more….What do you think?

#Empire: Recap Lyon Management Takes It Easy With Kingsley… until a Shocking Revelation
“Treasons, Stratagems, and Spoils” picks up after the previous week’s final moments. Lucious (Terrence Howard), Cookie (Taraji P. Henson), and Giselle (Nicole Ari Parker) show Kingsley (A.Z. Kelsey) what the Three Black Divas are entirely capable of, especially now that they are signed to Lyon Management. Still, despite the bop that TBD performed, Kingsley is convinced that the data that he collected from what users’ search terms on the internet are what would propel Empire to success. He still thinks TBD won’t make the cut.

Giselle tries to convince Kingsley that keeping TBD on their artist roster will be good for them, but he has none of it. Even when Lucious returns to him with another track that’s better than what they produced earlier, Kingsley insists on Lucious following the keywords that users “want” to hear in songs that they love. It’s a bullshit excuse if you ask me. Creating music based on algorithms and keywords seems a bit way over the top here.

And so Lucious tries to up his game—toning down his anger and inviting Kingsley for dinner.
Elsewhere, Jamal (Jussie Smollett) and Kai (Toby Onwumere) gets a surprise visit from Wynter (guest star Joss Stone), one of Jamal’s best artists in his London label. She wants to finish her album with Jamal, so he takes her to the Lyon Mansion aka Lyon Management Headquarters to rehearse. Cookie is impressed by her vocal power and tries to sweet talk her into signing with them. But since Wynter is already signed to Jamal’s label, he tells Cookie to back off and respect what’s his. He also reveals that he’s engaged to Kai, irritating Cookie for not knowing about it sooner.

Later, Kingsley drops by for dinner with the Lyons. Before that, though, he visits his mom from the hospital (who’s in a coma?) and tells her that he will make Lucious pay for what he did to her (things get rough from here on). The meal turns out fine, with Kingsley awkwardly observing the Lyon’s bicker and be themselves. Lucious then invites him over to the living room to watch him, and his sons create music together. That’s when Lucious tells Kingsley that he may have his data and results with him to help him know what people want, but it’s the music within you who makes them want what you have. Kingsley considers this and finally allows Lucious to do his thing with TBD.

Again, Kingsley visits his bed-ridden mother, who’s revealed to be Lucious’ ex from way back. And Kingsley? Well, to make things more complicated, it turns out that he’s Lucious’ son too—and he has no idea what Kingsley is planning to do for revenge.

#NewMusic from Kelly Rowland Drops New Single, “Kelly”
Kelly’s BACK! The veteran R&B singer returns with the trap single, aptly titled “Kelly,”
“Kelly” is a self-affirmation, self-worth anthem for anyone that feel they’ve been taken advantage of, looked over, or talked about. For Rowland, who is typically quiet, it seems like she’s taking notes from her sister Beyonce as she fires off raw and unapologetic vocals about her lavish and happy life.

“Kelly don’t really give a f*ck how you feel / Kelly ain’t humble no mo’ ni*ga / Kelly got a foot on your throat ni*ga,” she proclaims on the confidence-building, bass-heavy record.

The new single is Kelly’s first in over five years, and it may set the stage for a new solo album, which she previously said will be “extremely personal.”

Diddy Had Kim Porter Laid To Rest In her Hometown of Columbus Georgia
Kim Porter’s family and friends, including ex-boyfriend and father of her children Sean “Diddy” Combs, bid farewell to her in an elaborate funeral held in her Georgia hometown on Saturday, just a little more than a week after her death.
Combs arranged for Porter’s casket to travel in a carriage pulled by horses during the public funeral, which was held at Columbus’ Cascade Hills Church. Acclaimed pastor T.D. Jakes officiated the service.

The music mogul spoke during the service, as did Mary J. Blige and Porter’s son from a previous relationship with Al B. Sure!, Quincy Brown, TMZ reported, adding that after Brown began to cry during his remarks, Sure joined both him and Diddy onstage.
Yolanda Adams and Faith Evans reportedly also performed musical tributes.
Following the service, Porter will be buried next to her mother in Evergreen Memorial Park, according to TMZ.
There was a public viewing held at the Charles E. Huff International Funeral Home before the funeral commenced on Saturday, as well as a viewing on Friday.
On Saturday afternoon, Diddy shared a touching video on social media, and praised Porter as “the truest definition of a MOTHER!”
In the clip, Porter appears to play in the water with her and Combs’ twin daughters D’Lila Star and Jessie James, 11, as well as Diddy’s daughter Chance, 12 — whom he shares with ex Sarah Chapman.
Shortly before Porter’s funeral began on Saturday, Combs also honored his ex-girlfriend with an emotional note.

“Today we lay to rest our ANGEL,” he wrote on Twitter alongside an image of Porter.
“Her spirit lives on with us FOREVER!!! We thank you all for your prayers and support. You have no idea how much it means to us. We thank GOD for all of you,” he added.

In a statement released to the Associated Press on Friday, Porter’s family remembered her as “a loving mother and devoted friend.”

“God broke the mold when he made Kim, there was truly no other woman like her. Although her time here on earth was far too short, she lived a life full of purpose and meaning. She was a loving mother and devoted friend. She was the epitome of kindness and grace. There wasn’t a person she met [whose] soul she did not touch. Kim was the type of woman who changed lives for the better,” the Porter, Goodwin and Combs families said. “She will be forever remembered and missed by so many. As her family, we promise to honor her every day of our lives. We love you always.”

Hoover Alabama Cops Kill Emantic ‘EJ’ Fitzgerald Bradford Jr. THE WRONG MAN in Mall Shooting!
A Thanksgiving mall shooting in Hoover, Alabama led local police to announce they’d shot and killed the man identified as the shooter. Emantic Fitzgerald Bradford Jr., was the 21-year-old local man police killed.
Just before 10 p.m. on Black Friday in the Riverchase Galleria mall in the town south of Birmingham, gunshots and a report of an active shooting sent shoppers fleeing. Two Hoover Police Department officers were on a holiday security detail at the mall. One of the officers shot dead the man it said was the suspect that left an 18-year-old and a 12-year-old with gunshot wounds.

Seventeen hours after publishing a release on Twitter about the incident and the fatal shooting of the “suspect,” police now say Bradford, known as EJ, was not the shooter.

Bradford was reported to be an active duty U.S. Army soldier, home for Thanksgiving. AL.com reported late Saturday that the US Army Office of Public Affairs said Bradford did not complete basic training and was honorably discharged.

His family has hired a prominent civil rights lawyer.

“New evidence suggests that while Mr. Bradford was likely involved in some aspect of the altercation, he likely did not fire the rounds that injured the 18-year-old victim…We regret that our initial media release was not totally accurate,” the news release continued, “but new evidence suggests it was not.”
Initially turned over to the Jackson Sheriff for investigation, it was reported that a conflict existed between a witness and investigators so the case is now in the hands of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. Even as a separate investigation into the shoot is underway, Hoover police are reportedly doing an internal investigation to see if what their cop did were consistent with department policy. The officer, who has not been named, has been placed on administrative leave.
And with another gun found in the mall’s Santa’s Village, which a police spokesman told local media he was unaware of, has raised more questions.

Bradford’s stepmother Cynthia Kenniebrew Bradford said police and the media named her stepson as the gunman before ever speaking with his family.

“First of all I’m sick of all the lies going around and I’m very upset with the news and the HPD for releasing his name and photo and haven’t yet talked to either parent. So if you wasn’t there please respect the family and let my son RIP.”

Since Hoover Police Chief Nick Derzis named Bradford as the shooter in the press releases shared to Twitter, the news media did the same in describing him as the “gunman.”

But by Friday, when pressed about its certainty that Bradford shot an 18-year-old reported to have been involved the argument that led to a shoot-out in a packed mall on Thanksgiving, Hoover police Capt. Gregg Rector told local media that since it’s an officer-involved shooting, the Jefferson County (Alabama) Sheriff’s Office would be investigating and that agency would determine the facts.

A former teacher from Holy Family Cristo Rey Catholic High School in Birmingham, the school Bradford attended during ninth and 10th grade, told local media the young man was “…super sweet, funny, kind and good-hearted young man who never had a bad word to say to anyone.” The educator, Carl Dean confirmed that Bradford had enlisted in the U.S. Army. He was “shocked and in disbelief” that Bradford could be the shooter, adding he was “…heartbroken that this young man is no longer with us.”
Bradford’s family hired high-profile civil rights lawyer Benjamin Crump. The Tallahassee, FL-based attorney represented the families of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown, also 17, killed by police in Ferguson, Missouri.

Through Crump, the Bradford family released this statement: “Our family is completely shocked, heartbroken and devastated at the tragic death of our beloved ‘E.J.’ E.J. was a devoted son and brother who dedicated his life to serving his country and always doing the right thing. As we continue to grieve, rest assured that we our working with our legal team to determine exactly what happened and why this police officer killed our son. We will never forget E.J. and ask for your continued prayers during this incredibly difficult time.”

#BoxOfficeNews: 'Ralph Breaks the Internet’ Delivers Second Largest Thanksgiving Opening Ever with $84.4M While 'Creed II' Boxed Up a $55M Opening!
It was a massive five days at the box office, the last three days of which resulted in the largest Thanksgiving three-day weekend ever with the top twelve films combining for over $206 million. Leading the way was Disney's Ralph Breaks the Internet, which brought in the second largest Thanksgiving five-day gross of all-time followed by MGM's Creed II with the largest holiday opening ever for a live-action film. Despite the performances of these two films, it wasn't all success stories, however, as Summit's big budget attempt at Robin Hood collapsed both with critics and audiences.

With a massive $84.5 million domestically in its first five days, Disney's Ralph Breaks the Internet easily topped the weekend box office with what ranks as the second largest Thanksgiving five-day opening of all-time. This gives Walt Disney Animation Studios the top three Thanksgiving debuts ever while Disney overall holds eleven of the top thirteen Thanksgiving five-day debuts. By comparison, Ralph's debut is $2.5 million more than Moana's five-day opening back in 2016 before it went on to gross nearly $250 million domestically.

Ralph was a hit with critics heading into the weekend — 33 on Metacritic and 86% on RottenTomatoes — and audiences agreed, giving the film an "A-" CinemaScore. Similar to Wreck-It Ralph in 2012, the film played to a crowd of which 44% were 25 years of age or older, but one big difference is the sequel played to a crowd that was 51% female compared to the first film which skewed male at 55%.

Internationally, Ralph delivered an estimated $41.5 million from 18 markets for a $125.9 million global debut. Leading the way is China with an estimated $19.5 million debut, which is just behind Incredibles 2's $20.9 million opening in the market, while +14% ahead of Coco and +45% ahead of Moana's debuts. Additional markets include a $6.3 million debut in Mexico and $5.7 million opening in Russia. The film will open in the UK next weekend followed by openings in Spain (Dec 5), Japan (Dec 21), Australia (Dec 26), Italy (Jan 1), South Korea (Jan 3), Brazil (Jan 3), Germany (Jan 24) and France (Feb 13).

Overall, Disney reports with Ralph Breaks The Internet's $41.5 million debut it is currently tracking almost three times greater than the original Wreck-It Ralph compared to the same suite of territories at current exchange rates. The original film went on to gross $281.8 million internationally and over $471 million worldwide.

Finishing in second is MGM's Creed II with a massive, $55.8 million five-day debut. The performance is not only the seventh largest Thanksgiving five-day opening of all-time, but the largest opening for a live-action film over the Thanksgiving weekend ever. The performance is also $16 million ahead of the original, which finished with $109.7 million domestic.

Audiences gave Creed II an "A" CinemaScore, matching that of the original, which means word of mouth on the sequel is likely help this one as much as it did the first. The film also played to a more balanced audience than the original, playing to a crowd that was 57% male compared to 66% for the first film while 64% of the audience was aged 25 or older, with the single largest quad being 25-34 year olds at 30%.

WB's Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald landed in third for the five-day holiday, narrowly edging out Universal and Illumination's The Grinch. The Fantastic Beasts sequel delivered an estimated $42.9 million for a domestic cume that now stands at $117.1 million. With an additional $83.7 million internationally this weekend, the film was once again the #1 film globally for the second weekend in a row with a worldwide cume that now totals $439.7 million.

As for The Grinch, it brought in an estimated $42 million over the five-day holiday frame for a domestic cume that now totals over $180 million as it will soon find its way into the yearly top ten. Internationally the film opened in 11 additional markets and brought in $7.6 million from 33 total markets for an international cume that now stands at $35.3 million. The film launches in 23 additional markets next weekend, key among them being France, Australia, Italy, Germany and Spain.

Fox's Bohemian Rhapsody rounds out the top five with an estimated $19.37 million over the five-day holiday for a domestic cume that now totals over $152 million. The film also added an additional $38 million internationally this weekend, pushing its global tally to $472.1 million.

New Details Emerge on Dwight Howard's Alleged Transgender Affair and Abuse
Dwight Howard has had a wild weekend, after he was accused of having relationship with a transgender woman who took to Twitter to describe her relationship with the NBA star.
Howard reportedly met Masin Elije, who identifies as a gay man, at the filming of MTV's Wild'N Out after which Howard slid into her DM's on Instagram.

Elije faced a wave of backlash and questioning from people on Twitter following her decision to out Howard, and she had some rather interesting answers about how these messages came to finally hit the twitterverse.

First, Elije clarified how they began speaking. Yes, we spoke on our finsta’s but he’d often hit me from his real account too. I only uploaded this bcus his team said if I speak they’ll respond saying he thought I was a “girl” so I uploaded this as proof, ain’t no cis female asking you about dating trans and men.
Despite claiming that the pair spoke through fake Instagram accounts, she provided messages of her and Howard exchanging messages through Howard's main page, which boasts over two million followers.
Of course, Elije is looking to publicize the receipts, mainly so Howard can't claim to not know what the situation truly was.
Elije came forward with these claims so as not to be thrown to the wayside like many of Howard's other ex's. As a result of Elije's actions, Howard's pastor has apparently begun threatening him.

While Elije appears to have some evidence of a relationship with Howard, this all must be taken with a grain of salt. Elije is the same individual who accused rapper Playboi Carti of being gay last year, but there was never enough evidence to prove either side.
Regardless of the outcome of this situation, it doesn't seem like the story will be disappearing any time soon. Instead of being able to focus on his season with the Wizards, Howard will have this accusation hanging over his head and likely weighing him down.

So that’s why Dwight Howard is trending tonight.

Khloe Kardashian got Dragged for Spending Thanksgiving with Tristan Thompson
This Thanksgiving, Khloe Kardashian is thankful for daughter True and her family, but she isn't thankful for those stirring up drama online. The reality star has been in the middle of a recent theory suggesting that there may be trouble brewing between the Kardashian sisters. Some were surprised to learn that Khloe had chosen to opt out of the traditional Kar-Jenner's Thanksgiving dinner and spend the day in Cleveland.

Khloe definitely wasn't happy or even shocked about the rumors. She took to Twitter to set the record straight posting, "The truth is never as fun as some story some of you like to create. So here we goooooooooooo!! Happy Thanksgiving I guess lol."

Truth of the matter is, Koko has been spending the holiday in Cleaveland for the last few years due to NBA boyfriend Tristan Thompson being mid-season.

"Y'all are reaching now," she wrote. "I've spent the past 3 years in Cleveland for Thanksgiving. Not sure why people are trying to create drama between my family and I. My sisters and I are perfectly fine thank you! All of their families were able to travel but TT being in season, he can not."

Khloe isn't here for your slander today. A source revealed to ET that Tristan and Khloe are only focused on what they are thankful for.
"Khloe put together an incredible Thanksgiving dinner in Cleveland with Tristan. This Thanksgiving is special to the couple as it’s True’s first one," a source told the outlet. "They had a bunch of friends join them and celebrated what they are most thankful for this year: True."

The family all certainly had one another in mind. The source says they all spent the holiday together and Kylie Jenner cooked most of the food (and then ate her "body weight" in it).

"Family is the most important thing to them and they were all together, except Khloe," the source shared. "This year has been a big one for the Kardashian-Jenners with additions to their families, business expansions and continued health. It’s days like this that they are all able to take a moment to stop and reflect on how blessed they are."
Kourtney Kardashian also took to Instagram to post a sweet message thanking all of her loved ones and showing her gratitude.

"I woke up this morning in bed with my children, in the same house as my sisters (minus @khloekardashian i miss you), my brothers, the father of my kids, my mommy, my grandma, my nieces and nephew," Kourtney wrote. "I feel beyond grateful. Happy Thanksgiving!"

BeyoncΓ©, Rihanna And Jennifer Lopez All Rank Top 10 On Forbes’ Highest Paid Women In Music 2018
Another year, another Forbes list to top for Beyonce, Rihanna and Jennifer Lopez, who all appear in the top 10 Highest Paid Women In Music rankings.

BeyoncΓ© came in the 3rd, bringing home $60 million this year…and that’s after giving birth to the twins, Rumi and Sir. She collected a Coachella bag, as well as album and stadium tour bags with her husband, Jay Z. Despite all of the other ventures she is involved in, those three alone show how hard Beyonce works for her lifestyle.
Jennifer Lopez ranked number 6 on the list and made $47 million this year, coming from her Las Vegas residency and her judging seat on the show “World of Dance”. J. Lo also has a movie coming out next month entitled, “Second Act”, which may add some more zeros to her income next year.

Rihanna took the 7th spot on the list making $37.5 million in 2018, which is mostly thanks to her super popular #Fenty empire and lucrative #Puma collaboration because sis hasn’t released any music in almost 4 years. But it’s almost a guarantee that once she does drop, her earnings will skyrocket.

The highest paid woman in music went to #KatyPerry, who took home $83 million this year. The runner-up making $80 million in 2018 was #TaylorSwift.

Here’s the Top 10 list:
1. Katy Perry ($83 million)
2. Taylor Swift ($80 million)
3. BeyoncΓ© ($60 million)
4. Pink ($52 million)
5. Lady Gaga ($50 million)
6. Jennifer Lopez ($47 million)
7. Rihanna ($37.5 million)
8. Helene Fischer ($32 million)
9. Celine Dion ($31 million)
10. Britney Spears ($30 million)

Reuben Foster Cut From San Francisco 49ers After Domestic Violence Arrest In Florida
San Francisco 49ers head coach, Kyle Shanahan, issued a statement earlier this year that said the 49ers have a zero-tolerance domestic-violence policy…and he meant it. Since then, the team’s running back, Reuben Foster, has been cut from the team after being arrested in Tampa, Florida for domestic violence.

Foster was arrested on one count of first-degree misdemeanor domestic-violence battery this weekend at the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay, where the team stayed before their game against the Buccaneers.\
The alleged victim, Elissa Ennis, got into a verbal altercation with Foster (her on and off again boyfriend) during which things got physical. A statement from Tampa police reads, “Foster slapped her phone out of her hand, pushed her in the chest area, and slapped her with an open hand on the left side of her face. Officers observed a one-inch scratch on the victim’s left collarbone.”

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, a Santa Clara County Court judge dropped domestic-violence charges against Foster back in May, a week after Ennis took the stand and recanted her allegations that Foster hit her in Los Gatos on February 11th.

The NFL player has had his fair share of legal troubles over the past ten months, including an arrest for misdemeanor marijuana possession in January and a gun charge that was part of his arrest in February, when police found a loaded Sig Sauer 516 rifle on a bathroom floor.
The 49ers head coach said earlier this year, “We can promise you guys…if there’s someone who ever hits their significant other, girlfriends, some person like that, that person is not going to be on our team. I feel strongly about that. I know John does. I know our ownership does. That’s how we feel about it. Obviously, Reuben is on our team right now, so we’re waiting to see how that goes. But if that’s something that we felt he did or ended up happening, you guys will see how we feel.”

Now, the team has kept their word and released a statement saying, “The San Francisco 49ers today announced they are releasing Reuben Foster.”
