Is Sherri Shepherd’s Marriage a Mistake? – Let the Gossiping Begin
*Before I get into the gossip, let’s just take a moment to congratulate Sherri Shepherd and her new husband Lamar Sally on getting married as I previously reported.
Ahh…...
Ok, now that the moment is gone, it takes nothing but a snap before rumors get started. Blog site Rhymes with Snitch reports that the couple’s families are at odds and her daddy doesn’t agree with the marriage, along with her new mother-in-law.
According to the gossip, her father’s against it because the television star is the breadwinner and isn’t too excited about Sally joining team Sherri and also becoming her new manager.
Sally’s mama on the other hand is said to be outright against Sherri, allegedly saying she’s not good enough for her son. She apparently likes his ex-girlfriends a whole lot better.
But the family isn’t the only group of folk fans and critics are wondering about.
Sherri’s talk show friends, Whoopi Goldberg, Barbara Walters and Joy Behar were nowhere to be seen at the wedding.
Some of the comedian’s guests were actually upset her colleagues missed out.
One source stated, “I assumed that they would be there as did all of the wedding party and guests, or they should have at least sent a video of congratulations as well as expressing why they regret they could not attend or to show they were at least there for Sal and Sherri in spirit.”
While the rumors spread, we can all hope the score will be settled in the next season of “The View” in September.
Well, we say regardless of the drama as far as who was there and who wasn’t, and what other people might feel about the couple, Sherri is a happy bride. After her wedding, here’s what she told Life & Style: “Second chances really do happen, and I got mine! I’m married now!”

LIBYA CHAOS….AS GHADAFFI FORCED TO FLEE!
Libyan rebels arrest dictator's sons: 'We'll give Gaddafi safe passage... if he steps down'

libya
Two of Colonel Gaddafi's sons were today being held by rebels after they swept virtually unopposed into the heart of Tripoli.
Celebration: A man cheers as he and a group of rebels advance through the town of Maia, around 25kms west of TripoliHappy: These rebels show their delight as they advance on Tripoli. There were reports that hundreds of residents took to the streets to show their support
As rebel leaders appeared to take control of the city they arrested Gaddafi's heir apparent Saif al-Islam and put Mohammad under house arrest.
On a night of extraordinary developments in the Libyan capital, the rebels advanced through the city capturing the central Green Square as the regime crumbled.
In a symbolic move the rebels immediately began calling it Martyr's Square, rejecting the colour so associated with Gaddafi's despised regime.
Thousands took to the streets to celebrate the rebels' success, firing guns into the air, chanting loudly and destroying symbols of Gaddafi.
Many Tripoli residents received a text message from the rebel leadership saying: 'God is Great. We congratulate the Libyan people on the fall of Muammar Gaddafi.'
During their advance the rebels also confirmed that they had captured Gaddafi's son Saif, and Gaddafi's eldest son Mohammad said that he had been detained by rebels and was being kept under house arrest in Tripoli.
'Gunmen surrounded my house and I am still at home and they are outside,' he said by telephone from Tripoli.
'They said they will guarantee my safety. They are besieging my house,' he added.
Gaddafi's son Saif al-Islam in a recorded speech aired on Libyan television today describing rebel claims of military victories against government forces as 'illusionary gains'Cars burn and shooting continues as rebel fighters in Tripoli continue to battle today against pro-Gadhafi forces -the rebels claimed to be in control of much of the capital
Sidiq al-Kibir, the rebel leadership council's representative for the capital Tripoli, confirmed the arrest, before leader Mustafa Abdel Jalil, gave further details.
He said: ‘He is being kept in a secure place under close guard until he is handed over to the judiciary.’
The dictator’s personal security team were also reported to have been disarmed and surrendered.
The leaders of the rebels had previously announced that they would allow Gaddafi to leave safely if he announced his departure.
In a move that was designed to avoid a bloodbath, rebel chief Mustafa Abdel Jalil said the Libyan leader and his sons would be given a safe passage out of the country.
The dictator’s personal security team were also reported to have been disarmed and surrendered.
Mahmoud Shammam, the rebel minister of information, said that the unit commander 'has joined the revolution and ordered his soldiers to drop their weapons.'
Colonel Gaddafi was clinging onto power his evening despite Tripoli being overrun
Gaddafi’s supporters insisted that thousands of fighters were ready to defend him to the death and warned that blood would run in the streets amid reports of heavy gunfire elsewhere in the city.
During their advance on the city rebel forces were being pounded by rockets, anti-aircraft shells and mortars, and there were fears that with Nato unable to support them from the air at such close quarters there could be military and civilian deaths on a massive scale.
One official said: ‘What Nato can do is very limited if there is street-by-street fighting.’
Gaddafi had also placed snipers on tall buildings with orders to shoot ‘anything that moves’. At least 375 people were reported killed on both sides and more than 1,000 wounded
The dramatic developments came on the second day of attacks by rebel ‘sleeper cells’ which had been secretly armed in a daring plot to end the six-month civil war.
Their sporadic attacks within the city gained crucial support from bigger armies advancing unopposed into Tripoli’s outer suburbs.
In a decisive step, rebel forces yesterday seized the base of the Khamis Brigade – one of the best-trained and equipped units in the Libyan military, commanded by a son of Gaddafi.
They faced no opposition as they then marched 15 miles to Janzour, a western suburb of Tripoli which lies within striking distance of Gaddafi’s compound in the centre of the sprawling capital.
They were greeted by civilians lining the streets and waving rebel flags.
As one force of rebels arrived from the west, another was setting up checkpoints in suburbs on the eastern outskirts.
Celebrations: Fireworks were the only explosives in Tripoli last night as swathes of residents celebrated the advancement of the rebels. Today, tanks have opened fire on the rebels
One of Gaddafi’s former right-hand men, Abdel Salam Jalloud, who defected and fled to Italy on Friday, said the dictator would be toppled ‘within ten days, maybe even less’.
Adbel Hafiz Ghoga, a senior official with the rebel National Transitional Council, said: ‘The zero hour has started.’
He added: ‘There is coordination with the rebels in Tripoli. This was a pre-set plan. They’ve been preparing for a while. There’s coordination with the rebels approaching from the east, west and south.’
The latest – and possibly decisive – phase in the battle began after prayers on Saturday night when mosques in the capital broadcast messages urging civilians to fight.
They rallied local people to take up arms against Gaddafi’s regime with chants of Allahu Akbar (God is Great) being broadcast from loudspeakers.
Last night their battle continued within the city as their fellow rebels advanced from all sides. Those marching from the west chanted: ‘We are coming for you, frizz-head.’
One of their number, Issam Wallani, stated defiantly: ‘We are not going back. God willing.’
Despite the jubilation among rebel forces, Gaddafi’s fall is far from certain. His security forces have not yet buckled under the new onslaught – and the uprising has so far been contained to four areas of the capital.
Ashour Shamis, a UK-based opposition activist, said the dictator’s options were dwindling. ‘Gaddafi’s chances for a safe exit are diminishing by the hour,’ he said.
‘The longer, he stays the narrower his base, and the easier it will be for him to be caught or killed.’
Downing Street said tonight that 'the end is near' for Colonel Gaddafi and called on the Libyan leader to go to avoid more suffering for his people.
In a statement, President Obama said Libya is 'slipping from the grasp of a tyrant' as the battle between rebels and Gaddafi has reached a 'tipping point'.
Mr Obama, who is on holiday in Martha's Vineyard, said the surest way for the bloodshed to end is for the Libyan leader to relinquish power.
He said: 'The future of Libya is now in the hands of the Libyan people.'
The president promised to work in close co-ordination with the rebels and said the US will 'continue to insist that the basic rights of the Libyan people are respected'.
The statement was issued after Mr Obama took part in a conference call with his national security team.
Germany and France also stepped up calls for the dictator to quit.
In Berlin, Chancellor Angela Merkel said it would be good if Gaddafi ‘gave up as quickly as possible’ to avoid further bloodshed.
Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle said: ‘We hope that the last days of this unjust regime have begun.’
And French President Nicolas Sarkozy urged Gaddafi to ‘spare his people further useless suffering’ by stepping down immediately.
NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said in a statement that the sooner Gaddafi 'realizes that he cannot win the battle against his own people, the better.'
'The Libyan people have suffered tremendously under Gaddafi's rule for more than four decades. Now they have a chance for a new beginning.'

POST DIVORCE KENNY LATTIMORE GETTING BACK TO MUSIC
*There’s never a better time to make music than during heartbreak. Kenny Lattimore is getting ready to head back to the studio following a divorce from his wife of nine years, Chante Moore.
His new album already titled, “Back to Cool,” is expected to release in 2012. The project will be guided by Jill Scott’s producer J.R. Hudson and a little taste in the form of a song called “Built to Last” will be previewed at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial dedication ceremony.
“It’s a classic Kenny Lattimore song,” Lattimore, 41, told Recordnet. “It’s got lovely lyrics. It’s a love song about the ups and downs of being in a relationship. It’s a great song. I’m really honored. And I’m excited about the song. I’ve never sung this type of song before. It’s a big power ballad. It’s perfect for that celebration.”
As of now, the singer is taking baby steps to recovery and still has not signed with a label. But he’s doing it on purpose to give his music and team a chance to develop its own character.
“There’s something about having your own team and then combining with a major label,” Lattimore adds. “It seems to be working these days.”

Suit Against ‘The Help’ Writer Thrown Out
(Ablene Cooper) (Kathryn Stockett)
*The writer of the hit book and now film, “The Help,” was taken to court recently by her brother’s former African American maid.
Kathryn Stockett was accused of using the likeness of Ablene Cooper without her permission in a book about relationships between White families and their Black maids in the segregated South of the 1960s.
But the judge dismissed the lawsuit Tuesday on the bases that a one-year statute of limitations elapsed between the time Stockett gave Cooper a copy of the book and when the lawsuit was filed against her.
Cooper was caught leaving the courthouse, extremely upset.
“She’s a liar. She did it. She knows she did it,” Cooper screamed.
She also claimed that the there were too many similarities between the book and the movie not to go unnoticed. The complaint sought $75,000 in damages.
Stockett’s defense team argued in court papers that Cooper and the character are not that similar.
‘The Help’ does not use Mrs. Ablene Cooper’s name. It uses the name Aibileen Clark. It does not paint a picture of Mrs. Ablene Cooper, middle-aged in 2011. It paints the picture of Aibileen Clark, middle-aged in 1962,” the lawyers said in court filings.
The lawsuit says Stockett’s refusal to acknowledge that she based the character on Cooper’s likeness “is so outrageous in character, and so extreme as to go beyond all bounds of human decency, and is utterly intolerable in a civilized community.”
The suit also says that during a 2009 interview with The Atlanta Journal Constitution, Stockett said:
“When I was writing this book I never thought anyone else would read it, so I didn’t get real creative with the names. I just used people I knew. Some of them aren’t talking to me right now, but I feel like they’ll come around.”
“The Help” was indeed a blockbuster and ranked No. 2 nationwide it’s opening weekend and made $26 million.

She then headed straight to the cordoned off VIP section of the club, where she mingled with her family and friends, including singer Monica and Khloe's personal assistant, Malika Haqq.
But clearly with lots still to do, Kim only stayed for two hours and left shortly before 10.30pm with Kris in tow.

Jennifer Hudson: “I’m prouder of my weight loss than my Oscar!”
jhud4
I’ve always wanted to like Jennifer Hudson more than I actually end up liking her. Do you know what I mean? She’s got a great voice, she’s an Oscar-winning actress, she’s sympathetic and grounded and real. But at the end of the day, I never really put her on my list of “most beloved celebrities”. I wish her well, but beyond that, I tend not to care. However, Jennifer’s new interview in Self Magazine has caused some controversy already, for good reason, and now I’m wondering if I’ve just gotten J-Hud wrong this whole time.
First of all, J-Hud used to be a bigger girl. I’m not going to call her fat, because I hate that word and because she really wasn’t. She was what I like to think of as “thick”. Some might say “big boned”. She carried more weight than most ladies in Hollywood, but J-Hud carried it well, I thought, and she looked curvy and lovely and certainly not fat. Then she was hired by Weight Watchers and J-Hud began to rapidly shrink before our eyes. Here’s my controversial opinion: I think her face looked better before her weight loss. Yes, she’s healthier now and she’s proud of her body, but some people simply look better with some extra weight, especially in their faces. J-Hud is one of those people. She looks like her body isn’t supposed to be THIS thin. Just my opinion. Anyway, long story short, J-Hud makes some kind of crazy statements in her Self Magazine piece:
Why she decided to get healthy: “It really started when I was pregnant with David, who’s 2 now, and I thought, Hold on—why doesn’t anybody know I’m pregnant? And I wanted to set a good example for my son. Right after I had him, I began trying to change things.”
Was she unhappy with her appearance before? “No, never. I remember one of my first times on a red carpet, an interviewer asked, ‘How does it feel to be plus-sized in Hollywood?’ I looked around, like, Who is she talking to? Oh, me? I’m plus-sized? In the neighborhood I’m from in Chicago, a 16 is normal. But in Hollywood, everyone looks exactly the same, so I stood out.”
jhud1
Did that realization hurt? “I find the positive in everything. I like my curves, so it didn’t bother me. My fiancé, David’s father [also named David], and I both knew we didn’t learn to eat right and be healthy as kids, so we wanted to for him.”
jhud3
She’s had significant weight losses before: “I’ve had three different weight losses. Before American Idol in ‘04, I lost 60 pounds. Then I lost the 20 pounds I had to gain for my role in Dreamgirls, which came out in ‘06. This is the third time I’ve lost a lot.”
Is it different this time? “Oh, my God, by far. That first time, I was a workout fanatic. I’d go to the gym at 5 in the morning and run for an hour, go home, sleep and be back at the gym at 1 p.m. for another full workout. Then I’d come home and do Tae-Bo. That was my whole day. Plus, all I’d eat was skinless chicken breast, brown rice and vegetables. What are you going to do once you lose weight? Eat everything you gave up!”
How she got herself started this time: “Four days after my cesarean section, I began walking 30 minutes every day. It was my therapy, my moment to myself, and it was all I could do. I figured, me walking is better than me sitting on the couch. Even if I can’t climb a mountain or do 100,000 push-ups, these steps matter, and they’re leading somewhere. I started with walking, but before long, I built up to other things. When I didn’t want to be cooped up in the gym, I’d come up with other options. I’d ask myself, What do I love? I love being outside and feeling free, so I would jog or ride my bike. Some days, I’d play basketball and tennis.”
jhud2
Do people treat you differently? “Yes! You never know you’re being discriminated against until you see what you’ve been deprived of. Everybody wants you to wear this or put you on the cover of that. Before, my career was great, but since losing weight, I haven’t stopped. I have worked every single day of this year.”
How about your fans? “Some love it and say they’re inspired, and others don’t. Some have even questioned whether I can still sing. My voice has gotten stronger! I can’t care about whether I’m too big for some or too small for others. It goes back to how you feel about yourself. I like me the way I am. For anyone who wants to lose: Dude, if I can do it, you can do it. And for those who want to stay the same, I hope I can be an example to you, too; I was proud of being a big girl.”
What was the key to your loss? “It’s like my mother said: ‘Well, honey, when there is a will, there is a way.’ You have to want it, but don’t rush yourself. When you’re ready, you’ll set goals for yourself. Once you do, it’s good to have support, but you don’t need it, because everything you need is in you. I’m prouder of my weight loss than my Oscar! I hope it has inspired people.”
[From Self]
Yes, she said she’s prouder of her weight loss than winning an Oscar. Lainey made an excellent point - J-Hud’s message can be (and will be) interpreted as: being THIN, the outward appearance (of thinness) is more important than everything else, more important than career, more important than awards, more important than substance. But, playing devil’s advocate, I kind of know what J-Hud was trying to say, and it’s something that women who struggle with their weight know all too well. J-Hud probably worked on Dreamgirls for what? Six months, tops. And she’s been working on her body for her whole life. It’s something that’s with her every day, working on her portion control, working out, day after day. So her thinness has been achieved by more actual WORK than any film, and she’s proud of herself for keeping up with it for so long. Personally, I would be more proud of the Oscar, but I’m not J-Hud.

LA Judge Tosses Chris Bosh’s ‘Basketball Wives’ Lawsuit
*With less than two weeks before the premiere of VH1′s Los Angeles edition of “Basketball Wives,” one woman who won’t be a cast-member is Allison Mathis, notes the Hollywood Reporter’s legal blogger Eriq Gardner.
But Mathis, the mother of Miami Heat forward Chris Bosh’s child, can at least claim a small legal victory.
In May, Bosh sued Shed Media, the producers of the show, and Mathis for allegedly infringing his trademark and publicity rights. After the lawsuit was filed, Bosh and Shed reached a settlement. At some point, Mathis was let go from the show. But Bosh continued to pursue Mathis anyway, leading to a decision on Tuesday where the judge dismissed the case.
After Bosh sued Mathis in LA Superior Court, Mathis hit back with her own countersuit in Florida Circuit Court that alleged that the NBA superstar had ruined her chance to star on a big reality television show.
Mathis claimed that she had previously lived with Bosh in Texas when Bosh suddenly and without explanation abandoned her when she was seven months pregnant. The woman said that she was in deteriorating medical condition and had to move in with her mother in Maryland, before later relocating to Florida, where she caught a break by making a deal to appear on Basketball Wives.
Allegedly, Bosh’s interference pushed Shed to nix her from the program, leading to a situation where she’s now unemployed and broke. To remedy that, Mathis sued Bosh for about $250,000 — her estimate of the compensation she would have received for appearing on the program.
And perhaps because of Mathis’ still-pending claims, which Bosh denies, he has continued his own claims against Mathis.
But California judge Dolly Gee sees no reason why Bosh’s lawsuit should continue in California since neither of the parties are based in California nor have much contact there.
Among the reasons why the judge dismisses the lawsuit over Bosh’s objections for lack of personal jurisdiction is the following choice bit:
“Bosh requests an opportunity to conduct jurisdictional discovery in lieu of outright dismissal. His assertion that Mathis ‘is an aspiring actress . . .who has mastered a Californian accent’ is not a colorable showing that personal jurisdiction may exist over her. Rather, it amounts to ‘little more than a hunch that [discovery] might yield jurisdictionally relevant facts.’”
Meanwhile, NBA star Gilbert Arenas is also suing makers of the series and asking for an injunction to prevent the airing of the show. In reaction, Arenas has been hit with an anti-SLAPP motion contending he’s attempting to impinge constitutionally-protected speech.

Luther Campbell Caught Up in Booster Probe
Luther Campbell's name is being thrown around the University of Miami booster scandal...
Ponzi schemer and University of Miami booster Nevin Shapiro is singing like EnVogue now that he's been caught up.
Nev, who is accused of providing 72 University of Miami athletes with money, women, houses and cars between 2002 and 2010 says he only took over where Luke left off.
Nevin says,
“Here’s the thing: Luther Campbell was the first uncle who took care of players before I got going. His role was diminished by the NCAA and the school, and someone needed to pick up that mantle. That someone was me. He was ‘Uncle Luke’, and I became ‘Little Luke."

Luke blasts the allegations fuming,
"That punk could never be me. First of all, I have never been a UM booster. I have never given a dime to the school. I have and always will support the players and the program out of civic pride, but I never violated any NCAA rules when I was the team's biggest fan in the 1980s. And I definitely would not have ever paid for a stripper to abort a baby allegedly fathered by a UM football player like Shapiro claims he did."
"It has never been about money for me. It's always been about community service. That's what being Uncle Luke is really about. Shapiro is nothing more than a jilted groupie who f**ked over a lot people. He is an opportunistic schemer who now wants to play the role of jailhouse snitch. His word isn't worth squat especially if Yahoo paid him for the exclusive. Nevin's mad because he couldn't get former players to invest in his Ponzi scheme or come to his rescue when his criminal enterprise was exposed."
WOW!!! Stay tuned for more on this!!!

Is Ciara Broke?
Did Ciara get a part time job working for the Kardashians?
About an hour ago, a random tweet popped up on our Twitter.com timeline from singer Ciara’s Twitter account. It read, “Check out the hot new Kardashian Kollection from Sears! Clothing, accessories and more – see it all here” — and then she posted a link to the Kardashian Kollection “Look Book” at E! Online.

The tweet seemed innocent enough. Just a tweet from a friend in support of another friend. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary until we saw the hash tag that read “#ad” behind the link. This led some of us to congregate immediately in the Direct Message box in the back alleys of Twitter.com where figures of $5K to $10K per tweet were thrown around.
This led some of us to wonder if Ciara is so broke that she is now accepting cash to tweet ads for her friends.
Think of it: Ciara hasn’t had a hit since “Goodies”– and when was the last time she toured anywhere for a substantial amount of money?
If Ciara is broke, then tweeting ads for the Kardashian Clan’s clothing Kollection will certainly put some much needed cash in her pocket. Kim Kardashian alone has a net worth of around $35 million!
What do you kids think?

The world of pop culture and reality tv was dealt a shock recently when it was announced that Russell Armstrong, the husband of Taylor Armstrong from "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" was found dead of an apparent suicide. And while most people stray away from jokes of a sensitive nature, Ict-T set it off recently when he tweeted:
"The lack of people caring about REAL issues has caused the media to focus on dumb s--t like TWITTER comments."
And then it gets better....
"Bad joke..but alotta those wives would make me consider it." (Obviously referring to the suicide).

Deep sigh. But his comments didn't stop there. While he also stars in his own E! reality show "Ice Loves Coco" he made a few disparaging comments about "Jersey Shore" and "BBW."
In a recent interview, Ice said,
"A guy asked me my key to success & whats the difference between us. I said 'Did you see the last 3 episodes of Jersey Shore?' Yes 'I didn't'."
And what does he think of Shaunie, Evelyn, Tami and Jennifer on "BBW"?
"Speaking on Wives shows...Are any of the 'Basketball Wives' even married??? ...So shouldn't it be called.."Basketball Dumped H--'???"
"Hey! People love to call my wife a H--," Well at least she is a WIFE."
Well....I can't argue with that last comment because people say a lot of ish about Coco but she does have what appears to be a healthy, loving marriage....at least from what we can see....

AND FINALLY FROM “THE CRAZY PEOPLE SHOPPING AT WALMART” FILES
“You Spin My Head Right Round”

My head just keeps going round and round with all of these things catching my attention. Do I concentrate on the thunder booty, the bright orange hair, or what appears to be a side titty hanging out!?! The good news is that I can gawk freely here as opposed to getting caught following her around and figuring that all out. So what is it that catches your attention?

SAYONARA!!!
