Oprah Winfrey To Honor Breonna Taylor With Magazine’s September Issue!
Breonna Taylor featured on the cover of O: The Oprah Magazine. Oprah Winfrey has stepped back from the cover of her monthly magazine to instead raise awareness about police brutality victim Breonna Taylor.
The 66-year-old media mogul has graced the cover of every single issue of O: The Oprah Magazine since its inception in 2000, but the September issue will make history as the first edition to not feature Oprah on the cover, with the issue instead dedicated to Taylor.
Taylor — who was 26 when she died — features on the cover in the form of an intricate drawing and comes after she was fatally shot by three Louisville Metro Police Department officers in March.
Sharing a picture of the cover on social media, Oprah also posted a moving tribute to the emergency medical technician.
She wrote: “Breonna Taylor. She was just like me. She was just like you. And like everyone who dies unexpectedly, she had plans. Plans for a future filled with responsibility and work and friends and laughter. I think about Breonna Taylor often. Imagine if three unidentified men burst into your home while you were sleeping. And your partner fired a gun to protect you. And then mayhem.
“What I know for sure: We can’t be silent. We have to use whatever megaphone we have to cry for justice. And that is why Breonna Taylor is on the cover of O, the Oprah Magazine. The September issue honors her life and the life of every other Black woman whose life as been taken too soon.

You Won’t Like the Way You Look! Men’s Wearhouse Files For Bankruptcy!
Suit retailer Men’s Wearhouse filed for bankruptcy on Sunday as the coronavirus has kept millions of office workers at home and in lounge pants.
Parent company Tailored Brands, which also owns Jos A. Bank, filed for Chapter 11 protection in Houston, Texas, after reaching a deal with a majority of its lenders to keep 1,400 stores open.
The deal gives the struggling retailer, which also owns Moores Clothing for Men and K&G Fashion Superstore, $500 million debtor-in-possession financing to keep the stores open as it seeks to reduce its debt by $630 million.
“The unprecedented impact of COVID-19 requires us to further adapt and evolve,” Tailored Brands CEO Dinesh Lathi said in a statement. “Reaching an agreement with our lenders represents a critical milestone toward our goal of becoming a stronger company that has the financial and operational flexibility to compete and win in the rapidly evolving retail environment.”
Tailored Brands hinted at trouble in July when it said it planned to close 500 stores and reduce its workforce by about 20 percent. Its filing is the latest in a long line of retail bankruptcies as the coronavirus crushes demand for work apparel.
Brooks Brothers, which sells pricier men’s duds, filed for bankruptcy protection in July, as did Ascena Retail Group Inc., the owner of Ann Taylor.
Of course, Men’s Wearhouse — known for its commercials featuring charismatic entrepreneur George Zimmer and his tagline “You’re gonna like the way you look. I guarantee it.” — was also struggling since before the pandemic took hold as casual work wear gained steam. The company was also loaded down with significant debt from a 2014 acquisition of Jos A. Bank, a merger Zimmer opposed.
Zimmer, who founded Men’s Wearhouse in 1973, was ousted in 2013 reportedly for his aggressive efforts to take it private.

While promoting her new skincare line Fenty Skin, Rihanna once again addressed the delay behind her long-awaited ninth album.
“Music is still my first love,” she told “Access Hollywood.” “I can’t wait to put something out that I’m really proud of and excited about.”
The multi-faceted singer hinted that the timeline could come sooner than expected. “It’s probably gonna be sooner than my fans think, but I’m just gonna leave that alone,” said Rihanna, who continues to face “stress and questions” from impatient fans. “They don’t leave me alone, but I haven’t neglected ’em. I still got you. Music is still my baby.”
While she used to release a new album almost every year, her recording process has changed because of her workload. “In the past I’ll just shoot an album out in three months, but now I don’t have the luxury of doing that because I have other babies,” she said.
However, she promises it will be worth the wait when it does arrive. “I am always working on music,” she told “ET.” “I am always working on music and when I’m ready to put it out in the way that I feel fit, it’s gonna come out. And you’re not gonna be disappointed when it happens. It’s going to be worth it.”
“I’m not just gonna put it out just because people are waiting,” she added. “It’s taken this long, I’m gonna make it worth it.”
Rihanna hasn’t released a new album since 2016’s ANTI. In March, she put out her first song in nearly three years with “Believe It,” a collaboration with PARTYNEXTDOOR.
She previously said she was working on a “reggae-inspired” album. “It’s not gonna be typical of what you know as reggae,” she told Vogue.

Ex-Bad Boy star Loon was released from prison on Thursday (July 30) after serving nearly a decade for drug-related charges. Signed to the Diddy-helmed label in the early 2000s, Loon appeared on Diddy hits such as “I Need A Girl (Part One)” and “I Need A Girl (Part Two).”
Upon his release, Loon shared a photo of himself with Akon’s label executive brother Bu Thaim and two other friends standing in front of a Rolls Royce. Diddy, who evidently peruses The Shade Room’s Instagram account, commented underneath the photo, writing, “God is great. Welcome home. Get at me king. Love.”
Diddy’s comment prompted over 1,300 responses — and not all of them were positive. Many wondered why the Hip Hop mogul would use social media rather than simply reaching out to Loon privately. Others felt Diddy’s sentiments sounded hallow. There were also a few accusations thrown in there suggesting Diddy was responsible for Loon’s downfall.

Frank Ocean’s Teen Brother Ryan Breaux Reportedly Killed In Fiery Car Crash!
Frank Ocean’s 18-year-old brother and a second young man were both killed early Sunday when a car they were riding in crashed into a tree and went up in flames in Southern California, according to a local report.
The Grammy-winning singer’s younger sibling, Ryan Breaux, and the teen’s former classmate Ezekiel “Zeek” Bishop, 20, were cruising in a Tesla that veered off Westlake Boulevard in Thousand Oaks at around 1:40 a.m., The Acorn reported.
Ventura County Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the scene to discover the car fully engulfed in flames, the department said.
The two occupants were pronounced dead at the scene. It wasn’t immediately clear who was behind the wheel or what caused the fiery crash.
The victims — both members of the Oaks Christian High School Class of 2019 — had been driving south near Skelton Canyon when their car left the road and smashed into a tree in the center median.
Speed could have been a factor, authorities said.
“The speed limit is north of 45 mph,” Deputy Wendell Campbell told KTLA. “It’s a nice big stretch of road, so sometimes people do pick up speed.”
The sheriff’s department said it was waiting for the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office to notify next of kin before officially releasing the identity of the occupants.
Still, fans flooded social media on Sunday night to express their condolences to the “Ivy” singer and friends posted touching tributes to Breaux.
A rep for Ocean, 32, didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment
The NYPD Tried To Get Pop Smoke To Snitch On Crips!
Before his death in February, Pop Smoke was asked to snitch on members of the Crips.
According to a new report from the New York Post, the late Brooklyn rapper dodged detectives from the NYPD gang unit who tried to get him to speak about two Brooklyn shootings when he was arrested in December 2019 for transporting a stolen Rolls-Royce Wraith.
The detective questioned Pop about a non-fatal shooting in Canarsie in June 2019 because investigators said they had video of the rapper driving a car near the scene of the crime. They also reportedly asked him to provide intel about members of the notorious Brooklyn street gang 823 Crips.
However, Pop refused to cooperate, according to his lawyer, Peter Frankel. “Any conversation with Pop about cooperation was a very short one. It’s something he would never entertain doing,” said Frankel.
Pop, born Bashar Jackson, was hit with six state charges, including criminal possession of stolen property. After refusing to cooperate, he also received a federal charge in January 2020, which was possibly done to get him to snitch.
“They hoped the force of the federal indictment would persuade him to cooperate — meet and speak with them,” Frankel said.
When the FBI arrested him at JFK Airport after returning from overseas, the same NYPD gang unit detective grilled the rapper about the 823 Crips and another non-fatal shooting on Jan. 4 outside a Queens nightclub. He again refused to cooperate and was released on $250,000 bond. As part of his conditions, he agreed to stay away from known gang members and submit drug tests to U.S. pretrial services.
In a Feb. 7 memo in his federal case, U.S. pretrial services tried to prevent Pop from performing at the “BK Drip Concert” in Brooklyn on Feb. 16, claiming that several scheduled performers were identified gang members. Pop canceled his performance, but his lawyer stated that it was his understanding that Pop was not a “person of interest” in the shooting, and instead a potential witness.
Just three days later, Pop Smoke was shot and killed in a home invasion robbery at his rented home in the Hollywood Hills. Four people have been charged with his murder.

Jordan Peele Teaming Up With Issa Rae To Produce Universal Film ‘Sinkhole’!
Jordan Peele is to produce the thought-provoking movie Sinkhole.
According to Deadline, the Get Out director will team up with Issa Rae for the project, which is described as a “genre piece that engages on the question of female perfection and identity.”
Peele and Rae will serve as producers on the adaptation of Leyna Krow’s short story, which is about a young family that moves into its dream home. However, there is a mysterious sinkhole in the backyard, which is able to fix broken and destroyed things.
Universal reportedly beat out competition from more than 10 studios for the rights to the project, which is considered to be a potential star vehicle for Rae, 35, who recently secured eight Emmy nominations for her TV series “Insecure.”
Sara Scott, Universal’s senior vice president of production, is to oversee the project on behalf of the studio after previously collaborating with Peele on horror flicks Get Out and Us.
Krow is serving as an executive producer, and the story is based on the street she lives on. She was keen to explore the ideas of female perfection after being asked to write a short fairytale on the theme “I Married A Monster.”
Get Out producer Jason Blum previously revealed that Peele had “no intention” of making a sequel to Get Out, despite it proving popular with audiences.
Blum, who helped produce the motion picture with Blumhouse Productions, said: “I think what I said and what I would still say is, I would love to make a Get Out’sequel, but we would only do it if Jordan wanted to do it and as far as I know, he has no intention of doing that.”
Naya Rivera Fans Hold Emotional Vigil At California Lake Where She Drowned!
Dozens of Naya Rivera’s grieving fans gathered in California for a vigil at the sport where the star drowned earlier this month.
Organized by a Twitter fan page, Naya Rivera Army, a line of the actress’ most devoted supporters descended on Lake Piru Saturday to take turns to make dedications as well as leave momentos for the late “Glee” star.
“I have a feeling that Naya is at the lake today. I’m sure she will see all the love we are giving her,” a fan named Maria said from the #NayasFanMemorial overlooking the lake.
Fans from as far as Oregon and Indiana flocked to the Southern California lake where the 33-year-old actress disappeared on July 8 while boating with her son, they told KCBS-TV.
They set up tables for candles, photos and tributes, with messages and photos also pinned on the fence to the lake where Rivera’s body was found days after she helped get her son safely back on their boat.
While listening to her songs, the fans — who call themselves “Nayaholics” — released white “Forever in our Hearts” balloons across the lake, with others posting photos while taking shots as toasts to her.
Some of the messages and images will be left for an ongoing memorial, while others will be sent to the actress’ family, organizers told CBS.
Many praised the life-changing power of seeing the star play a Latina lesbian as her “Glee” character Santana Lopez.
“Without ‘Glee,’ I swear I would not be here. I would not be alive. That’s just a fact,” one fan, a trans man from Indiana named JP, told CBS.
Another fan from Portland, Ore., said she was “struggling with my sexuality” — until seeing her character on a major TV show helped her “come out” to her family.
“It literally gave me the courage,” she said of the show’s casting of a key character who was lesbian.

Britney Spears fans have launched a full-blown #FreeBritney campaign which is urging her to be released from her permanent conservatorship.
Fans are accusing Jamie Spears of emotionally, mentally, and financially controlling the singer since 2008.
The guardianship began after Britney refused to give up her children and was later placed on psychiatric care. She is now 38-years-old and is allegedly unable to make decisions about her career, personal life, and health as a result of the ongoing conservatorship.
Fans believe the pop star is crying out for help with cryptic social media posts and isn’t allowed to speak out under the terms of the conservatorship.
Jamie responded to the campaign calling it a joke. “All these conspiracy theorists don’t know anything. The world don’t have a clue,” he told The Post. “It’s up to the court of California to decide what’s best for my daughter. It’s no one else’s business.”
He aggressively denied stealing money from his daughter’s estate. “I have to report every nickel and dime spent to the court every year,” he said. “How the hell would I steal something?”
The Spears patriarch is mostly upset about the aggressiveness of the Stans and death threats. “People are being stalked and targeted with death threats,” he said. “It’s horrible. We don’t want those kinds of fans.
“I love my daughter,” he emotionally assured. “I love all my kids. But this is our business. It’s private.”
Britney Spears’ troubles have played out in public over the years, and the campaign has gotten the attention of Ruby Rose, Miley Cyrus, Paris Hilton, Ariel Winter, and Rose McGowan.

If the conservatorship was supposed to be temporary, it is sketchy that it’s still effective and she’s almost 40.
Joe Budden Responds After Logic Says He Led Him To Depression!
Logic says Joe Budden was the source of many of his dark thoughts.
During an interview with Hot 97, the Maryland rapper opened up about Budden’s frequent criticism. “I literally have no issue with Joe Budden. I’ve never met him, I don’t know him. I’ve never shaken his hand, we’ve never had a conversation man to man,” said Logic. “This is what he does. He doesn’t rap anymore. He speaks on the culture and this and that and that’s cool.”
Despite their non-existent relationship, the podcaster’s hurtful words have led Logic to depression. “This dude doesn’t like me for whatever reason. He wants to say I’m not Black enough, I’m not good enough,” he said. “He’s a person who’s led to part of my depression and some of my darkest spaces.”
He also had a message for his bully: “Your words, they make people want to kill themselves, bro. And that’s a real thing.”
Budden’s dislike for the No Pressure rapper has been well documented. He called him “one of the worst rappers to ever grace a microphone” and even celebrated his recent retirement. “Let’s celebrate Logic getting the f**k out of here,” he said before later apologizing.
But Logic’s recent comments about depression did not draw sympathy from Budden. On Saturday, the host of “The Joe Budden Podcast” responded by claiming that Logic was the bully.
“Logic is reverse bullying me lol,” he joked. He also responded with laughs after fans made jokes at Logic’s expense.
Actor Bryan Callen Accused of Rape and Sexual Misconduct By Multiple Women!
Actor and comedian Bryan Callen has been accused of rape, as well as sexual assault and misconduct, according to a report from the Los Angeles Times. Four women have come forward and told the publication that Callen was sexually inappropriate and/or violated them.
One accuser, Katherine Fiore Tigerman, said that in 1999 “The Goldbergs” actor held her down and forcibly raped her as she pleaded with him to stop. Afterward, she claims he told her, “Aw, come on. What am I, a big bad rapist? I’m not a big bad rapist,’” he said. Come on, you’re gonna be my girlfriend now. We needed to get this out of the way.”
Another woman, who worked as an American Apparel saleswoman in 2009, has accused the comedian of pinning her up against a wall in a fitting room and kissing her without her consent. An aspiring actress who allegedly had a four-year-long affair with Callen, while he was married, said he told her in 2016 that women have a “biological, primal desire to be raped.” One more woman, a female comedian, claims that in 2017, he suggested she give him oral sex in exchange for stage time and money.
Callen has denied all the allegations in a statement to the Times, saying, “Let me be very clear: I have never raped, forced myself upon any woman nor offered to trade stage time for sex. EVER.” He also added, “I know the truth. And I can only hold my head up high, remain true to myself, my family, my audience and know that I will not allow the cancel culture to subvert what I know and as importantly, what they know, is the truth.” Specifically for Tigerman’s rape claim, Callen says it’s “demonstrably false,” and that they “BOTH agreed to have sex.”
The actor has also recently come to the defense of comedian Chris D’Elia, who has also been accused of sexual misconduct, as well as knowingly seeking out inappropriate relationships with underage girls. D’Elia has also denied the allegations.
In an episode of his podcast last month, “The Fighter and the Kid,” Callen called long-time friend D’Elia a “ladies’ man,” but says he’d “never seen or heard” of him engaging in illegal activity. Stating, “right now I have to believe that, because he’s still a friend.”
