Oprah to Stepmom: You have 60 days to Vacate my Premises OR ELSE!

Oprah Gives Ex-Stepmom Barbara Winfrey 60 Days to Vacate
*Per a judge’s recommendation, Oprah Winfrey will give her former stepmother, Barbara Winfrey, 60 days to leave the $1.4 million Williamson County, Tennessee estate owned by the TV mogul.
Barbara, who is divorced from Oprah’s father Vernon, refused to leave the home on Willowbooke Circle in Laurelbrooke, which O had purchased for her father and Barbara after they married in 2001.
She had faced eviction within 10 days, but during a March 31 eviction hearing, General Sessions Court Judge Ernie Williams’ suggested she be given more time.
“The court is certainly aware of your situation,” Williams told Barbara. “I’m trying to do what I can for you, OK?”
Barbara and Vernon’s relationship fell apart two years ago and Vernon filed for divorce. The house was kept in the name of the limited liability company Overground Railroad, started by Oprah, reports USA Today.
Oprah then offered Barbara her former house “free and clear” to live in, but Barbara refused the deal because, she said, it required her to sign a non-disclosure agreement with her former stepdaughter.
“As part of the divorce proceedings, Barbara Winfrey was offered the Chateaue Valley home free and clear to live with her family and she chose not to accept it,” a spokesperson for Oprah told Radar.
“The next offer was to sell the residence on Willowbooke Circle and split the proceeds equally, which she also turned down. After several requests to voluntarily vacate the property at Willowbrooke Circle, the appropriate paperwork has been filed to have her vacate the property. A 60 day extension has been granted.”

Thugs BRUTALIZE this WOMAN because she is Gay & got married on TV!

THUGS Brutalize Woman in Michigan because she married her partner on TV!
Horrific: Men beat gay Mich. woman after seeing her marry partner on news segment: police

A 28-year-old woman was brutally beaten in a parkling lot of the Roundtree Apartment complex in Ypsilanti Township, Michigan, by three men who had seen her marry her partner on a TV news segment.
A Michigan woman was brutally attacked Monday by three men who had seen her marrying another woman on a TV news report during the brief time last month a gay marriage ban was lifted in the state.
The vicious, unprovoked assault is being investigated as a hate crime after the three men hurled gay slurs as they beat the 28-year-old woman unconscious.
“One of the males stated, ‘Hey b----. Are you that (anti-gay slur) from the news?’ One of the males then punched her in the face, which knocked her to the ground and unconscious,” the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.
The unidentified woman had just gotten off a bus in Ypsilanti Township, outside Ann Arbor, and was walking through a parking lot at the Roundtree Apartments around 6 p.m. when the three goons attacked her, the Detroit Free Press reported.

After she was laid low by a punch, she woke back up and was then kicked in the chest by one of the men. All three then ran off.

One of the men was described as a white man in his 20s, almost 6-feet tall and heavyset, with a low or husky voice, according to the Free Press.

She didn’t get a look at the other two men, police told the newspaper.
One of the males stated, ‘Hey b----. Are you that (anti-gay slur) from the news?’ One of the males then punched her in the face, which knocked her to the ground and unconscious.“She had obvious visual injuries,” Sgt. Geoffrey Fox told the Free Press. “She had injuries to her eye and around her eye. It was swollen and she had fresh injuries on her arms and on her torso. The injuries matched exactly what she said had happened. There’s no reason for us not to believe her and we’ll proceed with the investigation. Everything we see matches what she said.”
The woman, who asked police to not reveal her identity, was featured on a newscast getting married after a gay marriage ban was lifted March 22 based on a federal court decision. After an appeal and several hundred same-sex marriages, a federal judge placed a stay on any further gay marriages.

Anti-gay sentiment is simmering in the state because of the gay marriage debate, according to one activist.
“I was actually surprised it took this long,” Yvonne Siferd, the director of victim services for Equality Michigan, told the Free Press of the reported hate crime. “A lot of times, they are just slurs. Unfortunately, when unchecked, people feel empowered by them and (get physical).”

The decsion to charge the men, who remain at large, with a hate crime will ultimately be up to the prosecutor’s office, police said.

Josh Elliot to quit GMA for NBC Sports after 'he tried to negotiate raise following Robin Roberts $14m
GMA star Josh Elliott is quitting America's top rated breakfast show for NBC sports. The 42-year-old news star, who has helped GMA take the ratings crown from NBC's Today Show is leaving ABC and signing with the rival network after weeks of negotiations.
He will anchor NBC's highest-profile sports including Sunday Night Football, the Olympics and Triple Crown Racing.
Josh battled to get a huge bump in his salary after his popular co-star Robin Roberts signed a deal believed to be worth $14million.
A source said: 'Josh knew that he wasn't going to get that amount - but what he wanted was an increase that was proportionate to Robin's boost.'
Josh's move to NBC means that he will be well lined up for the anchor role on the Today Show when Matt Lauer eventually leaves.
Matt's $25 million contract is up later this year and while he may sign an extension to his contract - he may well depart within the next year or two, leaving the job wide open for Josh, according to TV sources.
'While the clear lead anchors on the Today Show are Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie, on GMA, Josh shared duties with Robin, Lara and George Stephanopoulos and they all pull their own weight together.
Meanwhile, ABC's Amy Robach, who is currently batting breast cancer, will replace Josh Elliot, it was announced inside the network today.
Josh has just weeks left on his GMA contract and will follow weatherman Sam Champion, who quit GMA for NBC-owned The Weather Channel.
Today, an NBC Sports source said the deal would be finalised this week, adding: 'Josh is going to be working on our highest profile sports coverage.
'He will be an addition to our team including Bob Costas - not a replacement.'
Josh leaves as his colleague Lara Spencer secured a lucrative multiyear deal announced on Thursday.
Spencer, meanwhile, seemed elated about her new deal, worth an estimated $2 million annually.

'You know you’re in the right job when getting up at 4 a.m. is a joy,' she said. 'This was a simple decision; I love what I do, and I adore the people I work with. I am thrilled to be on this team and look forward to many more years.'
It was reported that Josh was reportedly demanding more than $8 million a year — a whopping increase over his current annual salary of around $1 million.
He will be leaving as ABC news boss Ben Sherwood takes over as chairman of Disney/ABC TV group and last week said he hoped to keep Josh at the network.

Yung Joc Joins “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” Season 3 As Karlie Redd’s Boyfriend
Atlanta rapper Yung Joc recently announced that he will be joining the cast of VH1′s hit reality show “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” next season, and to make things even more interesting, he’ll be starring alongside his “GIRLFRIEND” Karlie Redd!
Joc made a trip to BET’s “106 & Park” to do a throwback performance of his hit song “It’s Going Down,” and while there, he confirmed that he will be appearing on LHHATL with his “girl” Karlie and we just “gotta watch.”

“Ladies and gentlemen, yes I am on Season 3 of Love & Hip Hop [Atlanta], my girl is Karlie Redd, so you know, y’all just gotta watch,” Yung Joc shared on the music countdown show.

When 106 host Bow Wow asked Yung if he was going to be involved in any of the show’s infamous fights and conflicts (like the huge brawl this past February), Yung simply replied, “Ya’ll just gon’ have to watch,” adding, “it kinda shows you what goes on in regular life, you know, not celebrity life… It’s going to be really interesting to see how I handle everyday situations because I’m a little a little ‘throw it off’ at times and the world don’t really see that on me, so they will when they tune in.”

We don’t know how Karlie Redd continues to maintain her relevancy enough to hold on to her highly coveted spot on LHHATL, but she continues to do it every season, and for that, we salute you Karlie, even if you still lie about your age.

As for Yung Joc, the soon-to-be 31-year-old spoke to Bossip and talked about how much he loves Karlie and how they are the real deal.
“The best thing about Karlie Redd is I like the fact that she’s a little throwed off and will jump off a building for me,” he noted.
Joc also explained why he decided to appear on “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” alongside that crazy Karlie Redd woman:

“By joining season 3 of Love & Hip Hop it allows people to see how Joc would handle some every day sh!t….Just because you’re on a reality show doesn’t mean it’s the best fit for you.
“Just because cameras are on her (Karlie Redd) — as an actress, she’s a great actress I’ll give her that hands down — but when cameras are on you and you’re forced to handle a decision that could be detrimental to how people view you, I don’t know if she’s the best candidate for handling that in front of a camera sometimes because I’ve seen her handle situations off the camera more professional.

“That’s why I had to have these meetings because people were like, ‘You don’t want to go in there and your girl start trippin’ on you, how you gone handle it?’ so when we started having real-life situations I was like this ain’t how you handle it on TV and that made it a lot easier to say, ‘I’ll accept the challenge of joining Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta Season 3.”

Ex-FAMU band member sentenced in Robert Champion hazing death
One of the former Florida A&M University band members who beat Robert Champion in the infamous hazing homicide was sentenced on Friday to a year in jail.
Jessie Baskin became the first FAMU student to be sentenced to jail time for his role in the hazing death of the drum major when he was ordered to serve 51 weeks in the county jail, sentenced to five years of probation and given 300 hours of community service for participating in the beating death of Champion, 26, in November 2011.
Fourteen other former band members were charged with manslaughter and hazing in Champion’s death. Seven have been sentenced to combinations of probation and community service. One other defendant, Caleb Jackson, 25, has pleaded no contest to manslaughter and is awaiting sentencing.

Champion’s death brought dark clouds that hovered over one of the most successful institutions within the HBCU ranks and led the temporary disbandment of arguably the best band in the country. The tragic episode also led to the departure of the band’s longtime director and the abrupt resignation of the university’s president.
In the Baskin hearing that lasted nearly three hours, Baskin’s attorney called several character witnesses from the 22-year-old’s family, including his mother and father. He also submitted a brief that contained letters pleading for leniency.

Baskin, who faced nine years in prison after pleading no contest to manslaughter in November, was emotional throughout, several times wiping away tears, and other times trembling in his seat.
“I’ve sentenced a hundred people to life in prison. This is one of the hardest sentences that I’ve ever had to deal with,” Judge Marc Lubet said. “No matter what I do, I can’t bring Robert Champion back.”
Champion, a native of suburban Atlanta, died during a hazing ritual aboard a bus parked outside an Orlando hotel. Champion collapsed after prosecutors say band members beat him with fists and instruments.
Champion’s parents – Robert Sr. and Pam Champion – also testified Friday, as they had at previous sentencing hearings. Both expressed their ongoing grief, with Pam Champion encouraging Baskin to “make positive choices going forward”

“You did wrong … you must pay the consequences for what you did,” she said.
Before Lubet imposed his sentence, Baskin himself offered a statement, at one point turning toward Champion’s parents and giving a tearful apology.
“I apologize that this happened. I apologize for how this has affected you,” he said through a wailing voice. “I’m not over it. It has affected me too. Robert was a good man and we know that …. We did not intend for this to happen.”

Pam Champion said though she believes Baskin’s sentence was too light, it won’t deter her family and a foundation started in her son’s name from trying to stop hazing nationwide.

“Clearly the sentence doesn’t fit what was done, including another opportunity to send a strong message,” she said. “We have to talk to everyone, because what happened at that school was allowed to happen…But the message of the foundation is to say `No more.’”

NYC Man Found In Trash Bag Allegedly Killed For Snitching
A 33-year-old NYC man who was found brutally murdered inside a trash bag last week may have been killed for the age-old violation of the street code known as "snitching."
News outlets this past Monday, March 24 prematurely reported that former NBA basketball player Quinton Ross was found decomposing in a shallow grave. Clarity later surfaced to find that it was actually Quynton Ross, a photographer from Jamaica, Queens.
When Ross didn't come home that Sunday night, his mother used the "Find My iPhone" app to trace his phone and it when it came up on a boardwalk she notified police. After his body was discovered, police did some digging and found that a YouTube rap video contain vital information for breaking the case wide open.

Via DNA Info:
The execution-style murder of a photographer whose body was found in a trash bag in the Rockaways may have been revenge for “snitching” on three men who robbed him several years ago, DNAinfo New York has learned.
Law enforcement sources say Quynton Ross, 33, the father of a 4-year-old daughter, was the target of an ominous YouTube video that denounced him as a “snitch” and graphically depicted the street justice he should face for putting a trio of home invaders in state prison.
The video begins with a knock on the door of what is described as Ross' home.
With rap music thumping in the background, the video presents a poster-like photo of Ross, with the words “Big Time Snitch” on it along with a Free Dictionary explanation that a “deponent is someone who gives evidence or acts as a witness.”
The video then shows someone flipping through pages of the 2011 indictment against the three suspects, accompanied by the muffled voice of an ominous narrator who says Ross “used to be their homeboy.”
A year earlier, Ross was robbed of cash, a watch, diamonds, earrings and his iPod inside his own home along with another man. Four months later, he and the other victim cooperated with authorities to help track down the armed robbers after they continued to pull heists in the nearby areas.
Somewhere in the list of Biggie's popular song "Ten Crack Commandants," consequences of snitching is eerily detailed similar to the instances in this murder.
Nonetheless, it is still a tragic story.

7.1 MILLION!!! OBAMACARE IS HERE TO STAY!
President Barack Obama lauded the Affordable Care Act’s successful first open enrollment period, and proudly declared that the law is “here to stay” during a triumphant speech at the White House Rose Garden on Tuesday afternoon.
Hours after the White House announced that 7,041,000 people had signed up for insurance using the law’s health care exchanges — exceeding the Congressional Budget Office’s original target — the president insisted that “this law has made our health care system a lot better.”

“Under this law, the share of Americans with insurance is up, and the growth of health care costs is down,” Obama said. “That’s good for our middle class, and that’s good for our fiscal future.”
Much of the president’s speech focused on the various benefits of the Affordable Care Act, such as allowing young adults to stay on their parents’ health care plans until the age of 26, expanding preventive care, closing Medicare’s prescription drug “donut hole,” and preventing insurers from imposing monetary limits on the coverage they provide.

The president also took a moment to needle Republican opponents of the law, to laughter and applause from his enthusiastic crowd.
“I’ve got to admit I don’t get it. Why are folks working so hard for people not to have health insurance?” Obama asked. “Why are they so mad about the idea of someone having health insurance?”
“Many of the tall tales that have been told about this law have been debunked,” he continued. “There are still no death panels. Armageddon has not arrived.”

“But the debate over repealing this law is over,” he added. “The Affordable Care Act is here to stay.”

The Godfather of House Music Frankie Knuckles DEAD at the age of 59

Chicago House Music Legend Frankie Knuckles Dead at 59
A Chicago DJ and producer known as "The Godfather of House Music" passed away Monday. Frankie Knuckles, 59, still lived in Chicago and is widely credited with helping to define the post-disco sound that came to be known as house music.
It's not clear how Knuckles died, but a statement is expected to be released on later today.
Knuckles was born in New York City but later moved to Chicago, where he made his musical mark.

He was the musical director of pioneering South Loop nightclub The Warehouse, believed to the birthplace of modern house music, and where Knuckles first started experimenting with mixing disco and European electronic tracks. It's also where the house music genre got its name.
Jefferson Street between Monroe and Van Buren was renamed honorary "The Godfather of House Music" Frankie Knuckles Way in 2004.
Like many house DJs, Knuckles' influence was just as big in Europe than on his native soil. On Saturday, he was a featured performer at London’s Ministry Of Sound club.

Chicago house music DJ Derrick Carter, who has his own international following, first met Knuckles in the 1980s when he was a teenager managing a downtown record store. The two recently shared a DJ residency at Smartbar in the Lakeview neighborhood.

"It's a dark day ... I'm in an emotional limbo where I don't quite know how to process this," Carter told Chicago’s NBC 5. "He was always just a decent guy, always had nice bits of advice to give. As a kid who grew up in the suburbs, I was a bit star struck, but at no time in our relationship did he ever big-time me like that."
Carter says Knuckles not only pioneered an important genre of music, he led the way for other DJs, showing them that they could actually make a living spinning records and mixing music.

It should be also noted that when the National Recording of Arts and Sciences aka The Grammy’s began to give awards to Dance music. Frankie was the first to win the coveted honor.

One of his recent collaboration was with Dance/Club Phenom Inaya Day titled ‘Let’s Stay Home’

Several local and international DJs were sharing their memories via Twitter Monday night, including The Roots drummer Questlove who tweeted, "Frankie Knuckles was so under-appreciated. he was the dj that dj's aspired to be. true dance pioneer."

I am devastated to write that my dear friend Frankie Knuckles has passed away today. Can't write anymore than this at the moment. I'm sorry.
