space to do that at my own pace. Motherhood is not easy, but it’s natural. I

Author Terrance Dean Pens Heartfelt Open Letter To Frank

Most recently, ODD
Future singer, Frank Ocean, did the unthinkable. In an open letter on his Tumblr
page Frank Ocean came out of the closet and revealed the details about his first
love which happened to be for another man. “4 summers ago, I met somebody,” he
wrote. “I was 19 years old. He was too. We spent that summer, and the summer
after, together. By the time I realized I was in love, it was malignant. It was
hopeless. There was no escaping, no negotiating with the feeling. No choice. It
was my first love, it changed my life.”

An open
letter to Frank Ocean:Over the course of
the past few days I read on the blogs, and saw a few tweets chattering about an
R&B artist coming out. Your name surfaced, along with an interview you did
overseas, and then you wrote on Tumblr about a relationship you had four years
ago with a young man. You shared how it changed your life, and how that young
man was your first love.
Initially, when I first heard the news about an
R&B artist coming out I wasn’t moved. I actually thought it was a hoax
created by someone. As we all know how well internet gossip fuels outings,
pre-mature deaths, and other lies about celebrities. So, I dismissed it. I was
waiting for you, or your publicist, to issue their pre-made ready-to-go written
statement For Artists Who Are Considered Gay When The Rainbow Is Not Enuff: “I
am not gay. I am a heterosexual man, and I love women.” However, that didn’t
happen. You actually responded to your legion of fans, and the world, by
announcing your love and declaration affirming yourself in a new era Hip Hop
world that is drifting toward a new
normal that is no longer filled with the hetero masculine machismo that despises
homosexuality.
You see, in 2008, my
book was released, Hiding In Hip Hop: On The Down Low in the Entertainment
Industry From Music to Hollywood. It’s my memoir detailing my life of working in
the entertainment industry, and being privy to many friendships with a number of
closeted celebrities, as well as a few relationships I shared with most of them.
So, the news of an R&B artist coming out and admitting his true sexuality
was not a shock to me. I actually have been awaiting the day, counting down the
hours and minutes as to when one of my friends, or past lovers, would be brave
enough to come forward and make a public announcement (My inhale continues to
expand). But, it wasn’t one of them. No. It was someone younger. Much braver. An
artist who isn’t hindered by the old relics of Hip Hop, or the entertainment
school of, “Don’t you come out or it will ruin your career,” and the record
label politics. It was YOU. Someone who recognizes their own uniqueness and the
power they have to change a world with their honesty and truth. It was you Frank
Ocean. A trailblazer. A journeyman. A true lyricist. An artist. A pioneer. A
hero.
So, I want to thank
you, Mr. Frank Ocean, for your courageousness. It takes a brave soul to come
forth in truth, and in love, despite what the rest of the world is doing or
feeling as “flavor of the week,” as legendary soul singer, Maze, recently said
in a speech at the 2012 BET Awards.
The mirror image you’re
reflecting to the world gives us a new vision to aspire to. Your grace and
ability to stand in your truth, and BE who you are called to BE, give others the
courage and strength to be unafraid and be FREE. Thank you for not playing
small, or even allowing yourself to be small. You’re too BIG, and nothing can
contain your SPIRIT for it is your CALLing to give us this moment. Right here.
Right now. There are many young people, even mature people, who are struggling
with their sexual identity, and are afraid to step out of the shadows for fear
of being judged, criticized, or ridiculed. Every day the fear grips and chokes
them, just as it once did to you. So, please know that they are watching,
reading, and listening to you, and the declaration you’re making. A black man in
Hip Hop, who looks like them, speaks like them, and realized his dreams despite
of the backlash or BS others tend to hold on to because of their own prejudices
against same gender loving people. You boldly refuse to be bound by others, and
in that declaration you are giving others hope and courage to be their authentic
selves. Being black and gay so many times we hear, “No,” and “You can’t,” or,
“It’s impossible.” Yet, your music and voice is heard around the world on radio
channels, you’ve performed in stadiums before hundreds and thousands of people,
and club DJs bang your songs while men and women, straight, gay, and bi, bop
their heads and two-step to YOUR GROOVE. Yes, that is
POWER-FULL!
What many people don’t
understand is that coming out is a process. Though it is a process that is
formed in our BEings, and shaped into our purpose, however, it takes KNOWing
SELF, and BEcoming TRUTH-FULL within one’s self in order to be able to share it
with others. No one can make you do it before your time. It is not up to them.
It’s up to the CREATOR, and HIS will, and the moment HE knows YOU are ready to
be responsible of the task and gift to give to the world. This is YOUR
time.
Your gift has, and, is
being revealed right before our eyes, and we are bearing witness to it. Every
time you’ve opened your mouth we’ve heard it in your songs. Your melodic,
smooth, and hypnotic voice lingering gingerly with the beats blending perfectly
to tell us about love, happiness, hopefulness, and starting again. Thank you for
the gift of your voice, and for understanding how to use
it.
I also want to thank
you for being open, vulnerable, and FRANK regarding your first love with another
man. What a powerful testament in bearing your soul, and being emotional, open,
and so revealing for the entire world to see, especially your emotions, and
feelings for another man. Your letter was truly heartfelt. Thank you for your
honesty.
Yes, we all know about
first loves. The ones we’d walk to the earth’s end for. The ones whose voice,
smell, and touch gives us a reason to live and look forward to until the next
moment we see them again. It’s hard loving someone so much and they don’t even
know the depth of your love, and how you’ll give your heart to them, and even
lay down and die for them. It’s hard because as you’ve stated so eloquently in
your letter that when you were finally able to say the words letting that young
man know how you felt about him, and his response was a pat on the back and him
saying how he could not return the love, I knew that moment. I knew that
experience. I could relate, as well as many of your fans who have experienced
love and love lost. We’ve all been there sharing our hearts, words, thoughts,
yet, the other person responds with a non-empathetic response. They don’t get
it. They don’t understand that it took so much courage, and us fighting through
our fears to be vulnerable and in a space where we once were afraid to go.
However, for some ODD reason you felt the strength and courage to reveal all
because you wanted to be free, floating, and living in that forever euphoric
space that they made you feel whenever they were around. But, they tell you that
they cannot love you the way you love them. They can’t be or give you what you
want them to be. Your world stops. The sky falls. The earth sinks. The air goes
stale, and you can’t breathe. The life has been sucked out of you and you know
there will be no more tomorrows because there will be no more
anything.
Yet, you’ve found the
strength from a loving and nurturing support system of friends, loved ones, and
family who healed you through. They lifted you, inspired you, and encouraged
you. And, in the power of your BEing you were able to rise, lift the earth, and
connect us to you with your symphonic music and tantalizing lyrics. Simply
because you acknowledged your greater SELF which you stated at the end of your
letter, “I don’t have any secrets I need kept anymore…I feel like a free man.”
POWER-FULL!
Just as singer, Adele,
wailed with an open wounded heart on her 21 album, singing about a rejected
love, and Mary J. Blige, cried out with a soulful blues of an unrequited love on
her, My Life album, their vulnerability connected them with their fans. Just as
you have done with your letter. And, yes, there are many artists who have made
songs about former lovers, ill-fated relationships, and love lost, but Mary J.
Blige and Adele touched the souls of folks like an old Negro spiritual. And, in
that connectedness their truths catapulted them to superstardom. My hope and
prayer for you is that your new album, Channel Orange, in which reviewers say
that many of the songs are an ode to a love lost with another man, will have the
same effect as 21 and My Life did on the lives of music fans around the world,
and it catapult you into the superstar stratosphere where you
belong.

Supreme On Billboard Mid Year Chart
Following her moving
tribute at last Sunday’s ‘BET Awards‘, this week has given Whitney Houston fans
even more reason to smile.
This week, Billboard released their annual ‘Mid
Year Chart’, tallying the highest selling LPs of the year thus far. A list,
which sees Whitney come out on top yet again.
With 818,000 units sold this
year, Houston is the highest selling act on the R&B/Hip Hop tally,
surpassing Rap Queen Nicki Minaj‘s sophomore LP which came in at #2 with 557,000
copies sold in the US since April.
Set to move over 1 million copies this
year, Whitney’s favorable spot is also likely to land her a spot on the top ten
of Billboard’s Year End Chart, making the collection one of the highest selling
LPs of the year.
This, after her
daughter Bobbi Kristina began work on a Reality Television series, documenting
her life since Houston’s passing in February of this year.

TOMKAT Have reached a
SETTLEMENT in a DIVORCE CASE DRAMA!
Just over one week since
Katie Holmes filed for divorce from Tom Cruise, the couple has issued a joint
statement regarding the rumors and details surrounding their divorce, including
the custody arrangement for their 6-year-old daughter, Suri.
Their reps, Nanci Ryder
and Amanda Lundberg, released a statement Monday (via People):
"We are committed to
working together as parents to accomplish what is in our daughter Suri's best
interests. We want to keep matters affecting our family private and express our
respect for each other's commitment to each of our respective beliefs and
support each other's roles as parents."
Their reps confirm that
the couple has reached a settlement in the divorce, although no details were
immediately available. Sources told People that Suri will likely live with
Holmes in New York, and Cruise will get visitation rights.
"This case has been
settled and the agreement has been signed," Holmes' lawyer, Jonathan Wolfe, told
TMZ Monday. "We are thrilled for Katie and her family and are excited to watch
as she embarks on the next chapter of her life."
Holmes cited
"irreconcilable differences" in her June 29 divorce filing and asked for sole
custody of Suri, which led many people to believe her split from Cruise was
anything but amicable.
"This is a personal and
private matter for Katie and her family," Wolfe told Peopleat the time. "Katie's
primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter's best
interest."
Cruise responded shortly
after the news broke, with his rep stating, “Kate has filed for divorce and Tom
is deeply saddened and is concentrating on his three children. Please allow them
their privacy.”
Sources told TMZ shortly
after the split announcement that Scientology was the reason for Holmes'
decision to divorce Cruise, and that she feared Suri would get pulled further
into the organization.
Holmes, who married Cruise
in 2006, reportedly had a pre-nuptial agreement with the actor, entitling the
actress to $3 million for every year she was married to Cruise, as well as their
Montecito, Calif., home.
Other reports have
suggested that Holmes will walk away from her marriage with little more than
what she had when she said "I do."

Cleared In Paternity Lawsuit
Rick Ross is in the
clear after a DNA test. TMZ says tests prove the Maybach Music boss is not the
father of a child at the center of a paternity lawsuit. A Georgia woman named
Tyrisha Childers filed legal papers against the rapper last year, claiming Ross
was the father of her three-year-old child. Childers said Ross owed child
support but test results now prove otherwise. TMZ says Childers has since
withdrawn her claim. Ross performed Sunday night at the 2012 BET Awards with his
Maybach Music Group. The group just released the album “Self Made Vol. 2.” Ross’
own album, “God Forgives, I Don’t” is due out on July 31st.

When is comes to
Autism, Holly Robinson Peete is not one to mess with and 50 Cent got his news on
Twitter when he made a tasteless joke which set it off.
50 Cent appeared to
be joking, but his lack of humor when re-tweeted a comment and attached a joke
50 making fun of his twitter followers, saying he looked like he had autism.
Welp that pissed off Holly and she went in on 50 Cent.
The

I’ve met you in
passing over the years and I know you are a bright, astute businessman and
legitimate philanthropist so it is with a bit of sincere confusion that I ask
you… Do you even know what autism is? And what exactly does “autistic” look
like? Do you know how wildly prevalent autism is? 1 in 88 have it. That’s 1 in
54 boys. Families suffer a social stigma you will never know. It is a financial
and emotional drain for millions, so our non-profit- HollyRod Foundation works
hard to raise funds to help these families cope…
I hope you can see how what
you might see as a benign insult-or not- was so randomly hurtful, immature and

SUES Accountants For Jacking Her For Millions
Rihanna's lawyers just
filed a major lawsuit in Manhattan.
Back in 2009 while Rihanna was trotting
around the globe on her Last Girl On Earth tour, she hired New York accounting
firm Berdon LLP to handle her money business. And now, she says they swindled
her out of millions and are still costing her a serious amount of cash because
they caused her to be audited.
E! Online reports that
in the court docs, Rihanna blames Berdon for not informing her that concert
costs were becoming overwhelming--and she was never advised to pull back on the
spending.
Why? Because some type
of way, the company allegedly made a way for them to receive 22% of her concert
profits. So they wanted the tour, which grossed $40 million, to continue. And
Rihanna, herself, only received 6%.
The "Birthday Cake" singer accused the
company of becoming lazy with her tax paperwork from 2008-2010, which has now
caused her to be audited by the IRS. She also accuses them of giving her bad
advice, like purchasing that $6.9 mill home in L.A. that ended up being a money
pit that she had to quickly sell.
"Despite having earned millions of dollars
in revenues during Berdon's tenure Fenty learned that her net income after
payment of expenses and exorbitant commissions to defendant was a fraction of
that amount," the suit states.
Ri Ri
is suing for breach of contract and negligence. The upside? Her new accounting
firm seems to be working out great since her profits are up by
40%.

this past weekend's BET Awards, Baller Alert TV asked the Bad Boy rapper about
his reported love for Black women. After revealing that his own daughter is
Black, the rapper's answer quickly devolved into cringe-worthy awkward
struggle.
"Black girls give the best head," opined MGK. "A hundred percent,
yeah. Facts."
He continued, "Now this is what y'all
do. Y'all either give the best head or you say you don't give head. White girls
they just give head. I'm saying...it's not that you don't give the best head,
it's just that most of y'all say, 'I don't do that, unless your my man.' Whereas
you just need to show your skills, cause Black girls give the best head a
hundred percent."
Let us break down just
some of the multiple levels of fail seen in the video below. The artist starts
off the answer be referring to his young daughter, who if you go by the one drop
rule is African-American, and hopefully one day blossom into a grown woman. The
same woman MGK refers to as giving the best head. Also, this is not the best
topic of conversation to be having off the top of your head, as a Caucasian man,
on a red carpet, at a BLACK ENTERTAINMENT TELEVISION event. Lastly, when a woman
walks off for a feeling a ways about his suspect commentary, MGK goes on an
ugly, misogynistic tirade that makes you wonder what dude says when there aren't
any cameras around.
Well let me speak on
this Idiots tomfoolery fuckery, It was Shameful and the host should have checked
him gracefully instead of encouraging his pseudo ghetto tomfoolery. What he said
was NOT a compliment and she's sitting up there laughing all giddy....SMH. The
fact that he has a "black" daughter is a NMFF. To call the black lady who walked
away all those names were uncalled for. The host should have really checked him
or walked away (with the microphone in hand) and MADE A NON-VERBAL STATEMENT if
she was TOO MUCH OF A COWARD to make a verbal one! Personally I would have
slapped the shit out of him!

Did Jesse
Jackson Jr. Have A Nervous Break-Down?
For those of you who
stay politically informed (I know, we should do a better job of this, here), you
may be already aware of this. Jesse Jackson’s son, Representative Jesse L.
Jackson Jr., (a Democrat from Illinois) has been on a leave of absence from
Congress since June. Initially, representatives said that it was some type of
medical condition, but according to his office, Jesse’s medical condition is
more serious than initially shared. According to a statement, he is
undergoing
“further evaluation and
treatment at an in-patient medical facility.”
The statement
continues,
“Recently, we have been made aware that he has grappled with
certain physical and emotional ailments privately for a long period of
time…According to the preliminary diagnosis from his doctors, Congressman
Jackson will need to receive extended in-patient treatment as well as continuing
medical treatment thereafter.”
There’s much speculation surrounding this and
some say (again PURE speculation) that he is suffering from depression or a
mental illness. Nonetheless, we hope that he fully recovers
soon.

Myla Sinanaj
is believed to have dated the NBA star following his split from wife of 72 days

The brunette is allegedly three months along and has claimed

Going it alone: Myla is allegedly wanting

While Myla has apparently
claimed she wants to raise the child alone, she has reportedly been having lots
of contact with her former flame in recent weeks.

Kris and Kim's divorce is
already getting messy and the athlete has been grilled by Kim's legal team as he
pursues claims she defrauded him for publicity.
He is said to have denied

Hop" co-star Kimbella's baby bump is now much more obvious (seemed to be non

Turns "Satan's Sisters" BOOK Into TV MOVIE...With Wendy Williams
PRODUCING
As VH1 continues to add
steamy tv movies/shows to its lineup, we've found out that Star Jones' dishy
book "Satan's Sisters" is next up to bat. Star will be linking up with talkshow
diva Wendy Williams and legendary film and music executive Suzanne de Passe for
a made-for-tv movie about the book that is set to become a tv series.
The project will be produced under the
“Wendy Williams Presents” banner and follow the lives of several female co-hosts
on a popular talkshow similar to Star's ex job "The View." And with Star being
besties with such fab actresses as Lela Rochon and Vanessa Bell Calloway, you
know the casting will be well played.
By the way, Star's name
is also in the mix after comments she made about Anderson Cooper coming out of
the closet just for ratings. She said,
He's a daytime talk
show host and when the rating slip in daytime, the hosts tend to tell you lots
of things about them.'
She added,
'I remember Oprah said she smoked crack, Oprah said she was pregnant at 14 and
considered suicide. There [are] times when you generate information for
ratings.'
Hmm....Star may be right but she just totally called Anderson out

chilling with his 2 sons!
He is engaged in a
bitter custody dispute with ex-wife Tameka Foster.
But Usher put the former couple's legal
battle behind him as he took their sons out for a day at the
park.
The singer was spotted
smiling in Malibu as he enjoyed some quality time with his boys Usher Raymond V,
four, and three-year-old Naviyd Ely Raymond.
The doting dad, wearing
