OMG! In an act of unbelievable cruelty, a girl poured boiling water onto the face of an 11-year-old girl attending a Bronx sleepover, police sources said Wednesday.
Victim Jamoneisha Merritt suffered second-degree burns to her face and shoulders in the attack early Monday at a home on Findlay Ave. near E. 166th St. in East Concourse, according to the sources.
Jamoneisha, who also lives in East Concourse, was warned not to go to sleep and awoke to her face and chest burning, the sources said. Medics rushed her to Harlem Hospital’s burn unit, according to an NBC 4 report.

Cops charged a 12-year-old girl with assault later that day.
Jamoneisha’s cousin, Yolanda Richardson, told the TV station that she and the older girl had been arguing. The news station said that the sick stunt was part of what has been dubbed the “hot-water challenge,” in which an unsuspecting victim has hot water thrown on him or her.
“She told her if she goes to sleep they were going to do something to her,” Richardson told the station.
Jamoneisha’s family won’t yet show the girl how badly her face is burned.

R&B superstar Chris Brown kicked off his North American “Party Tour” in Baltimore with an electrifying first show at Royal Farms Arena.

#WTH?!? Dylann Roof To Plead Guilty To Murder Charges In Exchange For Life In Prison
There’s no need for a second death trial because Dylann Roof is expected to plead guilty to murder charges in his state trial next month. He was sentenced to death earlier this year for killing nine black parishioners at the Mother Emanuel Church in Charleston, S.C. in 2015.
Prosecutors say that Roof agreed to plead guilty to murder charges in exchange for a sentence of life in prison.
“The plea is negotiated which means it is ‘carved in stone,’ ” Scarlett A. Wilson, the prosecutor overseeing Roof’s case in state court, wrote in the letter to the victims’ families.
“A guilty plea in state court means that if something very, very, very unlikely were to happen at the federal level, the state sentence would take effect and he would serve life in prison,” she wrote. She added in parentheses: “And no more trials!”
Federal death sentences such as Roof’s are extremely rare and less commonly end in execution. There have only been three federal executions since the federal death-penalty statute was reinstated in 1988 and expanded in 1994.
It will be interesting to see how this case moves forward.
IT’S A WRAP! Derrick Rose out for season with torn meniscus in left knee
(Newsday) It was supposed to be a comeback season for Derrick Rose, one in which the former NBA MVP proved to the league that he was healthy and durable and had what it takes to help a team win.
Instead, Rose’s first — and possibly last — season in a Knicks uniform was a weird, sad odyssey that started with a sexual assault trial that caused him to miss most of training camp and officially ended with the Knicks’ announcement Sunday that he will have season-ending knee surgery.
The Knicks confirmed in the first quarter of Sunday’s 110-94 loss to the Boston Celtics that an MRI of Rose’s left knee revealed a torn meniscus that will require arthroscopic surgery. The only timetable the Knicks gave for Rose’s recovery is that he will miss the final five games of the season, but it generally takes six to eight weeks to come back from this type of surgery.
“Yeah, it’s tough for Derrick,” coach Jeff Hornacek said. “He’s played real hard all year. He’ll get that taken care of and probably get back. He worked hard last summer with yoga, those kind of things, to get his body in great shape. I feel bad for him.”
The No. 1 overall draft pick in 2008, Rose, 28, became the youngest MVP ever in 2010-11, his fourth season with the Bulls. He now heads into the summer as a free agent with an injury-riddled resume. Rose previously had surgery on his right meniscus twice and missed most of the 2014-15 season as a result. He also missed all of the 2012-13 season while recovering from surgery to repair a torn right ACL.
The Knicks obtained Rose in June in a multiplayer trade with Chicago. He is in the final year of a five-year, $94-million contract and had been hoping to prove that he still is the elite player he had shown himself to be earlier in his career.
Rose was not on the bench to watch the Knicks lose a meaningless game to the Celtics on Sunday. The Celtics, led by Isaiah Thomas’ 19 points, had six players score in double figures. Carmelo Anthony sat out for a second game with a sore lower back.
The Knicks’ Ron Baker said the entire team was shaken by the news of Rose’s injury.
“I think it’s tough for everybody in here,” Baker said. “We’re all a pretty close group. Derrick is obviously a great player, a great friend. Now that we’re out of the playoffs, it’s tough to see a guy that’s worked so hard all year like him get that injury. And I kind of know he’s low in spirit, but we’ll support him the best we can as teammates and hopefully he can get back to 100 percent during this offseason.”
Courtney Lee, who led the Knicks with 16 points and five assists, said the news was tough but added that the injury is something a player can recover from pretty quickly.
“I feel for him a lot in knowing the situation,” Lee said. “That’s a quick-healing injury. What is it six, seven weeks? So I mean it could have been worse, you can look at it that way.”
Rose had missed the previous two games with what the team described as soreness and swelling. He said Wednesday that he initially felt the discomfort in his knee before the Knicks’ win over the Pistons on Monday, a game in which he scored 27 points in 33 minutes. Rose said at the time that he didn’t believe the injury was anything serious or would need to be surgically repaired. He had expected to return to the court shortly.
Rose averaged 18.0 points and 4.4 assists in 64 games. He and his agent, B.J. Armstrong, repeatedly have said he would like to return. The Knicks might want to go in another direction, though, given that they have a high pick in a draft stocked with point guards.
“Yeah, I thought he’s played well,” Hornacek said. “The explosiveness that you saw from years ago, you saw that quite a bit this year. Again, the way the season has gone, to have something like that right toward the end, that’s a bad break for him.”
Only time will tell how bad.

Chicago Teen Arrested For Gang Rape Streamed On Facebook Live
The teen is facing charges that include aggravated criminal sexual assault and dissemination of child pornography.
A Chicago teen has been arrested in connection with the sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl that was streamed on Facebook Live. According to NBC News, Chicago police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi announced that the Chicago Police Department apprehended one juvenile offender and others are expected to be arrested as the probe surrounding the incident moves forward.
From NBC News:A 14-year-old boy has been arrested in the sexual assault of a 15-year-old Chicago girl that was streamed live on Facebook and watched by about 40 people who didn’t report it to authorities, police said late Saturday.
Chicago police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said more arrests are expected as the investigation continues. Police have said the attack involved five or six males, and Guglielmi said the boy “was one of the offenders in the video.”
Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson is slated to provide more details at a news conference Sunday morning.
The suspect will face charges that include aggravated criminal sexual assault, manufacturing of child pornography, and dissemination of child pornography, reports the outlet.
According to NBC News, the video was the second time that an attack in Chicago was streamed on Facebook Live within the past few months.

Father gets 40 years for killing daughter, 2, because she wasn’t gay
A deranged father in Michigan will spend the next 40 years of his life behind bars for brutally beating his 2-year-old daughter. According to a report by MLive, Donovan Haynes of Flint, Michigan, wanted his daughter, Ti’Airra, to be tough and gay.
Haynes believed that his daughter would avoid troubled men like him if she was gay. In a ridiculous attempt to “toughen” his daughter, Haynes began to beat her severely. The child was found unconscious in the basement of Haynes’ mother’s home. She was rushed to the emergency room and later died of internal bleeding from a lacerated liver.
During the court proceedings, Haynes’ lawyer told the judge that he needed to undergo a psychological evaluation. Some say that Haynes smiled during his sentencing and didn’t show much remorse for the murder.
The judge sentenced Haynes to 40 years in prison for second degree murder and 15 years for first degree child abuse. The sentences will run concurrently.

Storming its way into the box office, "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" handily landed at the head of the class for the weekend of April 4-6, 2014.
The action film starring Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson and Samuel L. Jackson smashed April records with a $37 million Friday and grabbed a $96 million three day total.
After spending last week on top, the Russell Crowe fronted action film "Noah" is looking to a second place finish. The story of the biblical builder scored a $5 million Friday, and will wind up with an estimated $17 million weekend.
Rounding out the top five in earmarked earnings are the sci-fi flick "Divergent" ($13 million) in third, "God's Not Dead" ($7.8 million) in fourth and "The Grand Budapest Hotel" ($6.5 million) in fifth.

Chris Brown Faces Felony Possibility For Alleged Washington DC Assault
Currently en route to his Washington DC trial, Chris Brown now apparently faces a prison sentence for his alleged assault of a man near the W Hotel in October 2013.
TMZ reportedly obtained legal documents filed by prosecutors, stating that they have taken the case to the grand jury, believing there is sufficient evidence to support felony charges.
The 25-year-old rapper has been charged with misdemeanor assault, and As previously reported, his lawyer, Mark Geragos, has also filed documents requesting the case's dismissal, claiming prosecutors misused the grand jury system.
However, the prosecution has stated that the victim's injuries required hospitalization, which could potentially justify a felony charge, if the evidence holds.

Man Winks & Smiles After Being Convicted Of Murdering His 2-Year-Old Daughter
Most killers appear either stoic or remorseful when a guilty verdict is handed down to them in a courtroom. Arthur Morgan III, the man found guilty of murdering his two-year-old daughter by mercilessly throwing her off a bridge to spite his baby mama, proved he was a psychopath by smiling and winking for cameras as he made his exit to the big house.

A man who tossed his 2-year-old daughter into a creek while she was still strapped into her car seat was convicted Thursday of her murder and smirked as he was led out of court in handcuffs to spend what will probably be the rest of his life behind bars.
Jurors found Arthur Morgan III guilty of killing Tierra Morgan-Glover, whose body was pulled from a creek in a park near the Jersey shore in November 2011. They also found him guilty of child endangerment and interference with custody.
Prosecutors had said he killed Tierra to get back at her mother for breaking off their engagement. They said he weighed down her pink car seat with a tire jack to ensure it would sink. Her body was pulled from a creek in Wall Township, about 20 miles from her Lakehurst home, with one tiny black and purple sneaker sticking out of the water.
The girl's relatives gasped when Morgan smirked broadly as he was led out of the courtroom after his conviction, his hands and feet shackled. Immediately after leaving the courtroom, several of them collapsed into sobs, with one woman wailing, “Oh, God!”
Morgan hasn't been sentenced yet but he is expected to receive a life sentence without the possibility of parole, seeing that the murder was premeditiated. The prosecutor, Marc LeMieuxm said "if the death penalty was a possibility, I would have asked for the case to be certified for death."

Paula Deen Restaurant Closes Down After Racism Scandal
Celebrity Chef Paula Deen is ready to close the door on another chapter in her life.
Uncle Bubba’s Seafood & Oyster House, one of her family restaurants in her hometown of Savannah, Ga., has officially closed for business.
The Deen family’s new publicity team released a statement explaining “the restaurant’s owner and operator, Bubba Hiers, has made the decision to close the restaurant in order to explore development options for the waterfront property, on which the restaurant is located.”
The restaurant was also the venue that triggered the sexual and racial harassment suit by an employee against Deen, 67, and her brother, Hiers, 60.
The lawsuit was dismissed after lawyers reached a deal, but Deen’s reputation was seriously damaged after she admitted during legal proceedings that she had used racial slurs in the past.

Rapper 2 Chainz Charged With Felony Drug Possession…
Rapper 2 Chainz just received some bad news pertaining to his June 2013 arrest at LAX airport.
The Los Angeles District Attorney’s office has filed felony drug-possession charges against the Feds watching rapper, TMZ reports. 2 Chainz is looking at up to three years behind bars for one count of codeine possession, which is the main ingredient in sizzurp. The rapper was arrested last summer after TSZ security allegedly discovered less than an ounce of marijuana and promethazine in his checked luggage. 2 Chainz is scheduled to be arraigned in a Los Angeles court next week.
In May 2012, 2 Chainz was arrested at LaGuardia Airport in New York after a four-finger ring was found in his carry-on bag. Ouch!!

Zoe Kravitz Suits Up For Air Force Pilot Role In "Good Kill"
Lenny & Lisa's daughter has landed another gig! And she was spotted suited up for the first time:
Zoe Kravtiz (who currently stars in the hit film Divergent) was spotted in Las Vegas, NV on the set of her latest film, "Good Kill."
Zoe stars in the Air Force thriller with Ethan Hawke and "Mad Men" actress January Jones. Directed by Andrew Niccol, Ethan plays a pilot who questions his own ethical standing while operating drone attacks on the Taliban. Ad it looks like Zoe will be one of his pilot colleagues.
In addition to Nevada, Zoe and the cast have also shot scenes in Alburquerque, New Mexico. "Good Kill" is expected to hit the silver screen in 2015.
