Wyclef Jean Is Broke, Claims Singer's Manager Star's rep e-mails creditors: "there ain't no money"

Wyclef Jean’s former lawyers have filed a six-figure legal judgment against the musician after he failed to make agreed-upon payments to reduce his debt, according to court filings that include a recent e-mail from Jean’s business manager claiming that his client was broke.

“there ain’t no money,” Jean’s accountant declared in a terse January e-mail to his creditors.

Other records show that federal and state authorities have, since mid-2012, hit the performer with nearly $2.9 million in tax liens (which remain outstanding).

According to New York State Supreme Court filings, Jean last year agreed to pay the law firm Shukat Arrow Hafer Weber & Herbsman $100,000 to settle an outstanding bill topping $133,000.

As part of a confidential settlement agreement, Jean was required to pay the firm $10,000 by August 1, 2013, and $50,000 by year’s end. The agreement stipulated that if Jean made those two payments, the firm would waive the remaining $40,000 it was owed by the musician. However, the agreement notes, if Jean failed to make the payments, he would be on the hook for the entire $100,000, plus 10 percent annual interest.

Jean, records show, made neither payment.

In response to Jean’s default, Shukat--a well-known entertainment industry law firm--this week filed a $102,027.40 judgment against the 44-year-old entertainer.

Before filing the judgment, the law firm wrote to Jean’s business manager to give notice of the impending court action. “File it,” replied accountant David Levin. He added, “In my most professional verbiage…there ain’t no money.”

Lauryn Hill Explains Why She Hasn’t Responded To Wyclef

It looks as though Lauryn Hill has no time for Wyclef and his shenanigans.

Back in September, Wyclef made headlines with the release of his autobiography, titled “Purpose”. In the book, he claimed that Lauryn tricked him into believing that her first child was his baby up until the child’s birth. During promo appearances to promote the book, he also talked about Lauryn’s relationship with Rohan Marley and the demise of the Fugees while claiming that he believed Lauryn was bipolar.

Meanwhile, L Boogie has been quiet during this whole ordeal. During a recent stop in Dallas, as part of the “Life Is Good/Black Rage tour” with Nas, Lauryn subliminally addressed all the chatter surrounding Wyclef and his book, and also explained why she has chosen to take the high road. She said:

When you are on the other side of liberation, just make sure you are not late. Be careful how you judge, there is a lot of deception out there. A lot of misunderstanding out there. A lot of miscommunication out there. A lot of false information out there.  And notice, out of all the people who talk talk talk, who’s the silent one.  There’s a lot of chat, but me….

And you know why? Let me tell you why I don’t chat back.  Because I know that my brothers and my sisters are often times pawns in a bigger scheme so when they, under pressure, attack me, I love them still.  It’s called the high road. Try taking it sometimes.

I’m not going to play my hand like the suppressive system would have me play my hand. Because I know [about] the oppression that took place in Haiti, and Jamaica, and America, and Africa and Europe. So just be patient. The truth always surfaces and especially, all you black folks out there who have had black mothers who carried you through thick and thin, when the system wanted to call them crazy, just remember that…

You know I know I’m not crazy, that’s why I can use the word so freely. Crazy like a fox? Ahead of the curve. People don’t like people that’s ahead of the curve but unfortunately that’s not my problem.

Wyclef Tweets Peculiar Birthday Photo

There aren’t quite enough words in the English….or Haitian….language that could properly explain what could have possibly taken place in the mind of Wyclef or his photographer before, during, and after the decision was made to strike this bare-bodied pose looking like a Speedo-sportin’ grease monkey and then post the picture on Twitter for all to see.

And to top it all off, the former Fugees front man is quite proud of his 46-year-old half-ashed, oiled up Speedo steez.
