The Daily Buzz For March 9 ☕📰☕

Mariah Carey Shows Off Busty Figure After Reportedly Getting Weight Loss Surgery!
The 47-year-old posed for the cover of the Spring 2018 issue of V Magazine, and, well, she looked amazing and busty in several saucy snaps.
The magazine shared images
Several fan websites posted images from inside the pages of the mag. In a few images, the singer shows off her derriere in black fishnets. In other snaps, she poses in a black bra or black bustier.

Clearly, the "Hero" songstress is proud of her body. The images come a few months after reports surfaced that Mariah had undergone weight loss surgery in October.
A source told Page Six last year that Mariah got the gastric sleeve surgery, which shrinks the size of the stomach so patients eat less.
Mariah, a source told Entertainment Tonight, feels "extremely insecure about her weight."
"She always fluctuates and it makes her upset," the source says. "She lives in denial about it; she has the tags cut out of clothes, so she can be blissfully unaware of her size."

Another source said Mariah feels "much better about herself."
On March 7, V Magazine posted a post in which Mariah speaks how people react to her music and her background.
"Because I'm biracial, that's one thing that a lot of my fans who are of all different ages and backgrounds tend to talk to me about," she said. "They're like, 'This helped me get through this,' or a lot of people are like, 'You helped me come out to my parents, because a song like 'Outside' from the 'Butterfly' album describes feeling different than others and not having people who understand.'"

#RHoA: Oh Look Kenya Moore’s Ex Has Also Apparently Moved On
RHoA star Kenya Moore is now happily married to another man, and it appears that her ex-boyfriend, Walter Jackson, has moved on as well. MadameNoire spotted Moore with her new mate, Marc Daley on Sunday during their first public appearance at an event (Elton John’s AIDS Foundation Oscars Party.

The two gushed about their relationship, with Moore saying, “When you finally are at peace with yourself and you find someone who centers you and who loves you unconditionally and they just bring out the best in you, you want to be a better person for them.” Good for her.

When the reality television star, 47, made her debut on the RHOA six years ago, she was involved with Jackson, the owner of a car towing company. And while the two got engaged, their relationship ultimately ended in the two going their separate ways.

It looks like Jackson not only has found a new boo, but is reportedly a father.
WOW….And the beat goes on…..

#EMPIRE: Turns Top Educator Into Tv Star
MOVIE STAR: Dr. Emma Banks, CEO and President of Inlet Grove Community High School in Riviera Beach, Fla., will make an appearance in the hit TV show, “Empire.” Her specific role and date of her appearance remain undisclosed by the studio. Stay tuned.

Emma Banks may be one of South Florida’s most prolific educators. But lately, she has become a star – a television star, that is.

Banks, who is currently the CEO and President of Inlet Grove Community High School in Riviera Beach, has landed a role on the hit TV show, “Empire!” She’s traveled to Chicago (where filming occurs) twice over the past couple of months to tape her segments. And yes, she’s met “Lucious” (Terrence Howard) and “Cookie” (Taraji P. Henson) and other actors who play characters on the hit FOX show. And even though Banks can’t divulge exactly what her role is, (you’ll have to watch), she says it has been an experience of a lifetime!

So how did this top notch educator land such an incredible role? It was a promise made to her by Lee Daniels, the creator of the show and also an executive producer. Each year, Banks hosts, “My Teacher, My Hero” Awards, where she honors students and teachers for their accomplishments in education. The annual black-tie affair is usually held at the Palm Beach County Convention Center and boasts keynote speakers with well-known names and titles. Two years ago, Daniels was keynote speaker. In the past, Banks has had Hank Aaron, Iyanla Vanzant, Stedman Graham to keynote the event.

During his speech, he promised Banks that he would put her on his show after she teasingly asked if she could play Cookie’s (Taraji P. Henson’s) mother. Though we don’t know what role Banks is playing – Daniels, two years down the line has made good on his promise to get her on the set. They’ve been in touch via text ever since his appearance here.

Banks says she was given star treatment. “The experience was wonderful. They treated me like a celebrity. They picked me up and took me to the set where I had my own trailer,” she quipped. They did my hair and make-up. I give Lee Daniels kudos. It was top notch!”

There was a time in Banks’ life that she wanted to break into the entertainment field. She’s been an extra on sets before, and she’s done a pilot for a show. But she says today, she does it for a different reason. “Anything I do now, I do it for the kids.” She once did a rap song on the spot after being challenged by rapper, record producer and entrepreneur, Lupe Fiasco, who was a guest at the school, told her he would give her $25,000 if she came up with a rap song and perform it on the spot. She did and gave it directly to the school, a noted charter school that Banks founded.

She said she was cool during her filming for the show. “I wasn’t nervous doing my part. But filming lasted all day, starting at 4am when they picked me up. They all make you feel at home. I just applaud Lee for the job he’s doing.”

Banks’ episodes will air in the new season of Empire, which starts, March 28 on Fox Television.
Meanwhile, Banks continues to make waves in the educational arena and with her students and their achievements. She founded Inlet Grove school in 2004 and to date, 99 percent of the school’s graduates attend college or work in the service industry upon graduation. Banks is known as a no-nonsense individual when it comes to advancing her students.

She has won numerous awards including the Urban League Trailblazer Award, JM Family African American Achievers Award, Governor’s Leadership Award and Outstanding Business Woman of the Year Award, Lifetime Achiever’s Award, among many others. She also created Florida Visions Magazine as well as Palm Beach County Visions Magazine.

She is currently working on a documentary called “Street Talk” which is about youth who either dropped out of school or have a criminal record. She also produced a drama entitled “Reality High.” And she has produced a children’s teen talk show called “Our Future Generation.” (h/t South Florida Times)

#NEWMUSIC: Stream XSCAP3’s Brand New Ep ‘Here For It’
It’s now Offcial! After a few delays, and a small name change, the now trio have released their comeback EP, Here For It. Originally teased by the double singles “Dream Killa” & “Wifed Up,” and the title track, the 6-track EP is the group’s first release since their 18 years apart. The project comes on the heels of their very successful sold-out, comeback tour, which culminated at the top of the year in Los Angeles.

The R&B group’s new music includes 3 of the original members–Tameka “Tiny” Harris and sisters LaTocha and Tamika Scott. To the surprise of fans, when they first announced that they were working on new music, fourth member Kandi Burruss revealed to Andy Cohen on “Watch What Happens Live” that she won’t be involved in the group’s new music due to other commitments that she is involved in, including Broadway. More recently, the singer/songwriter/reality TV star expounded on her reasoning during an interview with Madame Noire, which include differences in creative ideas and “messing with their legacy.” Kandi recently released her own new solo music though, with the single “Fake People.” She has made it clear that though that touring together will remain her interest, but no new music at this time.

Without allowing Kandi’s disinterest to stop them, the three other ladies moved on quickly, connecting with producer Tricky Stewart to helm their new material, which is a more mature, updated take on their overall sound. They are definitely still ‘here for it.’ Are you??

I really wish them success in this new effort!

#HIPHOPNEWS: Rick Ross issues a statement since being released from the Hospital!
Rick Ross is sharing his gratitude for the well wishes, just days after being released from the hospital over a serious health scare.

The Maybach Music Group mogul returned to Instagram on Thursday (March 8), with a message of love for his fans, followers, and family. “Ain’t nothing like home,” he wrote with a prayer hands emoji. “I love y’all.”
Following his hospitalization, Ross made several posts on social media that avoided the topic of his health. He published an image of a Rolex and bracelets, followed by a “Free Meek Mill” post and another portrait of himself with no caption.
His health status remains unclear. Although he was sent home, it’s been reported that the rapper is receiving medical care in his residence.

It’s been a trying week for Ross, who was found unresponsive in his Florida mansion on Friday (March 2). He was hospitalized and reportedly put on life support over a possible heart attack. Although the details have been disputed by friends and family, he postponed his daughter’s Sweet 16 party as a result of the health scare.

Tori Spelling Checked On Again By Police!
Police had to check on Tori Spelling again!

Tori Spelling sparked a new round of concern for her wellbeing earlier this month after police were called to intervene in what was described as an apparent "breakdown" involving the seeming "mental illness" of a female in the house. It turned out Tori's husband Dean had made the March 1 call. This week, he still seemed to be worried about his wife, though, and called the cops again. That's according to TMZ, which reports three police officers were seen outside a doctor's office building that morning. Tori, who had reportedly left the house earlier with one of her kids, was inside while Dean was outside with the couple's baby.
Police talked to Tori but found nothing dire was going on and left the scene. Meanwhile, back at home in Tori and Dean's neighborhood, neighbors are reportedly getting frustrated with the regular disturbances caused by the couple's fighting. "They argue several times a week," a source tells InTouch. "Their fights can be heard throughout the whole neighborhood. Tori's yelling and hysterical crying are unmistakable."

The insider also claims police had come to Tori and Dean's the day before the "mental illness" incident, when Tori thought someone was breaking into her house. Instead, it turned out Dean was simply returning, having given his wife some space. "She freaked because Dean had not been home for a few days. He left to clear the air after one of their fights," the source says. "They really are the neighbors from hell."

#NEWCOUPLEALERT: Pop Singer Tinashe and Phila76’es Ben Simmons?
Tinashe is getting candid about her love life.

The “Faded Love” singer was spotted in West Hollywood on Wednesday (March 7), where she was asked about her relationship with rumored boyfriend Ben Simmons, a rookie for the Philadelphia 76ers.

“That’s my little boo thang,” she told TMZ with a smile.
The pair has been playful about their romance on social media. “Where’s bae?” she asked under a photo of herself in lingerie. “Charlotte,” he replied, while on a road trip to play against the Hornets. She hit him back with a heart eye emoji, a smirk, and “miss you.”

The 21-year-old Simmons has been on quite a roll this season, averaging 16.5 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 7.6 assists per game this season. He’s a contender for the NBA’s Rookie of the Year award.
Tinashe addresses these rumors, just as she reimagines her “No Drama” single. Teaming up with Sony’s “Lost in Music: Sessions,” the pop princess revamped the track with a live band.

“Not only does it challenge you as an artist and as a creative to reimagine it,” she says in the video, “but it also, I think, inspires the fans.”
Up next, Tinashe is readying her oft-delayed sophomore album Joyride, which is expected this year.

#NOMETOO? WME Agent Adam Venit Will NOT Be Charged For Allegedly Groping Terry Crews
Uh Oh is this SHADE?

The Hollywood exec who allegedly groped Terry Crews will not be charged. Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office rejected the sexual assault case against Adam Venit.
A City Attorney source told Deadline, “The matter was rejected because it was beyond the statute of limitations.”

Adam may have slipped through the cracks of the justice system, but he’s still not completely off the hook.
In December, Terry sued Adam for sexual assault. So, it isn’t over….

Vanessa Carlton Slams Chris Brown for Posting Her Song on International Women's Day
Vanessa Carlton has slammed Chris Brown for sharing a video of her song “A Thousand Miles” on his Instagram account on International Women’s Day.

Chris posted the video and said, “Mood. This song lit forever.” Vanessa responded by posting a statement on her Instagram account that said, “Today Chris Brown posted my video. I am now being repeatedly tagged to his account. Being that today is International Women’s Day I feel compelled to draw a line. I support survivors, not perpetrators of domestic violence. I do not want to be associated with an artist that has assaulted women on a day like today. Thank you.”

Chris was arrested in 2009 for assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna.
Chris responded to Vanessa‘s post by saying, “I posted a song that was and still is a great song and the artist felt she was doing her duty as a WOMAN to continue to spread this kind of hatred today. I won’t keep it up long. I just hope she knows she is loved and her song is great.”

Legendary Harlem Dapper Dan’s Upcoming Memoir for the Big Screen is being adapted by Jerrod Carmichael
Influential hip-hop fashion icon Dapper Dan is getting the biopic treatment. According to The Hollywood Reporter, comedian and producer Jerrod Carmichael has signed on to adapt the tailor’s upcoming memoir, which is scheduled to be released in 2019.

Daniel “Dapper Dan” Day rose to fame in the ‘80s when his Harlem boutique began outfitting many of the biggest hip-hop musicians of the era. His famous clientele included Jay-Z, Salt-N-Pepa, P. Diddy, Jam Master Jay, and Mike Tyson.
He was forced to shut down after luxury brands sued him for using their labels without permission in the early ‘90s, but he has recently experienced a resurgence — last September he became partners with Gucci to open a new Harlem atelier. Day and his son Jelani Day are set to executive produce the movie.

NFL Prospect Derrius Guice Says Team Asked Him If He Was Gay
The former LSU running back said he was also asked if his mother “sells herself.”
The NFL is reportedly investigating claims that draft prospect Derrius Guice was asked about his sexuality in an interview.

Guice, a former Lousiana State University running back, told SiriusXM NFL Radio Wednesday that a team at the NFL Scouting Combine asked him if he was gay. He also said they asked if his mother was a prostitute.

“Some people are really trying to get in your head and test your reaction,” Guice said in the interview, according to USA Today. “I go in one room, and a team will ask me do I like men, just to see my reaction. I go in another room, they’ll try to bring up one of my family members or something and tell me, ‘Hey, I heard your mom sells herself. How do you feel about that?’”
The athlete didn’t specify which team asked him the questions, but said he was told to “come in prepared” for the combine.

“You’re being watched and tested the whole time,” he said.
Following Guice’s interview, NBC’s Pro Football Talk confirmed via a source with knowledge of the situation that the questions he referenced were indeed asked.

The news was quickly denounced by the Human Rights Campaign.

HRC issued the following statement after multiple news outlets reported on an unnamed team asking NFL prospect Derrius Guice “if he likes men” at the 2018 Scouting Combine.
The Human Rights Campaign’s Ashland Johnson blasted the inquiries into Guice’s sexuality “as absurd and inappropriate” in a statement on the organization’s website.

“Guice’s experience illustrates the risks faced by millions of LGBTQ people today in employment, athletics, housing and other areas of their lives,” Johnson, who is HRC’s director of public education and research, wrote.

A spokesman told Pro Football Talk that the NFL was “looking into the matter.”

“A question such as that is completely inappropriate and wholly contrary to league workplace policies,” NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said Thursday. “The NFL and its clubs are committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all employees in a manner that is consistent with our commitment to diversity and inclusion, state and federal laws and the CBA.”

Unfortunately, Guice’s claims are not isolated. In 2016, New York Giants cornerback Eli Apple said the Atlanta Falcons asked him similar questions during an interview.

“The Falcons coach, one of the coaches, was like, ‘So, do you like men?’ It was like the first thing he asked me,” Apple told Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia. “It was weird. I was just like, ‘No.’ He was like, ‘If you’re going to come to Atlanta, sometimes that’s how it is around here, you’re going to have to get used to it.’”

The Falcons’ head coach Dan Quinn later apologized to Apple, saying he’d spoken to the coach who interviewed the athlete and “explained to him how inappropriate and unprofessional this was.”
“This is not what the Atlanta Falcons are about,” Quinn said, “and it is not how we are going to conduct ourselves.”

The Daily Buzz For Dec 12 ☕📰☕

X-Men: Dark Phoenix director explains what went wrong with Apocalypse
'It became about global destruction and visual effects over emotion and character'

Despite featuring an incredible cast — Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Sophie Turner, Oscar Isaacs —X-Men: Apocalypse was met with relative disdain by critics and fans alike.

The movie’s writer/producer Simon Kinberg has since opened up about why the movie failed to meet the high benchmark previously set by the often excellent series.
"I think we took our eye off what has always been the bedrock of the franchise which is these characters," he told Entertainment Weekly. “It became about global destruction and visual effects over emotion and character.”
Kinberg will helm the upcoming sequel, Dark Phoenix, which hopes to act as some course correction. The producer behind the next X-Men instalment, Hutch Parker, was also candid about Apocalypse’s faults.
"It's always dangerous if your script is evolving while you're shooting, he said. "Certainly, in hindsight, we all feel like the genre has been evolving aesthetically and tonally and that the film didn't.

“There's a lot that I think is very good in the film but, as a whole, it was struggling to find ways to coalesce, narratively emotionally and in terms of plot. Aesthetically, it felt sort of dated relative to an evolution you were seeing play out everywhere else. We learned a lot from that.”
Earlier this week, the first images from the upcoming sequel were released, featuring a fiery Sophie Turner and mysterious Jessica Chastain.

Set ten years after Apocalypse, in 1992, the X-Men have become national heroes in Dark Phoenix, Professor X even being on the cover of Time magazine. However, on one particular journey which heads into space, a mysterious force — the titular Phoenix — merges with Turner’s Jean Grey. Chastain plays Lilandra, who attempts to capture and destroy Phoenix.

The storyline borrows heavily from the comic-book storyline "The Dark Phoenix Saga" which was previously shown in X-Men: The Last Stand. The movie reaches cinemas 2 November 2018.

#RHoA: Brielle Biermann Reignites RHOA Feud with NeNe Leakes with a Single Instagram Comment
The little Bish is at it AGAIN! NeNe Leakes is slamming Real Housewives of Atlanta costar Kim Zolciak-Biermann‘s daughter Brielle Biermann over claims of “prejudice” after the mother-daughter pair visited Leakes’ home and allegedly found cockroaches

She’s not a Housewife, but Brielle Biermann certainly knows how to stir the Bravo pot.

As Real Housewives of Atlanta fans are well aware, a bitter feud recently erupted between Kim Zolciak-Biermann, 39, and NeNe Leakes, 49, after Zolciak-Biermann’s daughter Brielle alleged she found cockroaches in Leakes’ home. The incident will play out in detail this season, but in the meantime, Brielle, 20, is adding fuel to the fire by shading not just Leakes, but also her fellow Housewives Kenya Moore, 46, and Cynthia Bailey, 50. (Zolciak-Biermann has also been fighting with Moore this season, lunging at her in a recent episode after the former Miss USA claimed Zolciak-Biermann was “pimping” out Brielle.)
On Sunday, Brielle commented on an Instagram photo of the three RHOA stars shared by The Shade Room account asking followers to “#NameThatGirlGroup.”
“Xstinct,” she wrote, a play on RHOA star Kandi Burruss‘ musical group, Xscape.

After her comment drew attention, she followed up by telling fans to “relax” because it’s all “fun and games.”
“I wish the golden girls happiness,” she added.

The account then posted a screenshot of Brielle’s comment, calling her out for “being petty.” (But all’s fair in love and Bravo: Both Brielle and her mother liked the post.)

#UGH Philadelphia Eagles Carson Wentz suffered torn ACL in win over Rams L
In the blink of an eye, the NFL has lost one of its brightest young stars for the rest of the season.

Eagles coach Doug Pederson confirmed Monday that second-year quarterback Carson Wentz suffered a season-ending knee injury on Sunday, tearing his left ACL in Philadelphia's 43-35 win over the Los Angeles Rams.

Wentz injured the knee on a third-quarter scrambling dive into the end zone, a touchdown that was called back because of holding penalty on tackle Lane Johnson. The second-year starting quarterback was hit by a pair of Rams defenders on the run.
Pederson told reporters he believed the injury occurred right before the hit on Wentz.
"It appears watching the film again today it was actually before the contact so it could be a non-contact deal," Pederson said. "But that's just what it appears like on tape."

Wentz courageously played through the pain for another four snaps, ultimately finding Alshon Jeffery for a 2-yard touchdown on fourth-and-goal. After the drive, Wentz retreated to the locker room, giving way to backup Nick Foles, who led the team to a pair of field goal drives and the costly victory.

The loss of Wentz is dark and devastating for a team sitting atop the NFC. A viable MVP candidate, the big-bodied passer was enjoying a breakout campaign for the ages, throwing for a league-leading and franchise-record 33 touchdowns to just seven interceptions.
For all the ways Wentz scattered opponents with his powerful arm, dazzling mobility and aggressive feats of daring-do, the young quarterback came into his own this season as one of the game's premier pre-snap magicians.

Wentz has shown beyond-his-years ability to dissect defensive looks, play with pace, catch opponents off guard and pinpoint the ideal moment to strike downfield. These qualities can't be masked over by even the finest backup.
Foles is an experienced signal-caller -- 20-16 as an NFL starter -- and surrounded by a top-shelf roster, but the Eagles simply aren't the same team without their irreplaceable leader.

"We overcame a Pro Bowl left tackle [Jason Peters]. We overcame a middle linebacker [Jordan Hicks]," Pederson said. "We've overcome a core special teams player, our kicker this year. This is no different. Yeah, he is the quarterback of our football team and each one of these guys is tough to replace, but the reason we went out and got Nick Foles is for reasons like this, for situations like this. I'm excited for Nick obviously. I hate it for Carson Wentz; I hate it for the career and the season he's been having but at the same time it's been the next man up mentality and that's how we approach it this week."

With games left against the Giants, Raiders and Cowboys, Philadelphia is talented enough to run the table and command home-field advantage. Where they go from there, though, is tough to imagine with Wentz saddled in the distance.

During a season soiled by endless quarterback injuries and off-the-field drama, losing Wentz serves as a pre-Christmas sucker punch to the belly of any fan who adores fine quarterback play. He will be sorely missed.
