First Look pics from the Upcoming ‘Black Panther’ Movie
Entertainment Weekly just gave me a double shot of LIFE on Wednesday when they dropped their annual Comic-Con preview issue featuring the stars of Marvel’s Black Panther!
The film stars The film stars Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa/Black Panther, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Forest Whitaker, Sterling K. Brown, and Michael B. Jordan.
Here’s the scoop via EW: In Marvel lore, T’Challa’s homeland is the site of massive natural deposits of Vibranium, the near-mystical metal that comprises Captain America’s shield, is woven into his Black Panther, and has allowed the people of Wakanda to make technological leaps nearly a century ahead of the rest of the world.
But as T’Challa learns upon ascending the throne, the minute others know you have something valuable, someone will try to take it from you.
In self-defense, Wakanda has closed itself off from the other nations of Earth, maintaining a false front that it’s a mere third-world nowhere – full of mines, farms, and jungle creatures. The truth is, its mines produce the rarest, most precious metal on earth, its fields grows the Heart-Shaped Herb, a Vibranium-enriched plant that grants its leaders superhuman strength, and its jungle creatures provide inspiration for one of the sleekest superheroes to ever leap from the page to the screen.

When it came time for Kandi Burruss to show some love for her The Real Housewives of Atlanta pal Cynthia Bailey she dug deep into Cynthia's modeling portfolio for one of the coolest homages we've ever witnessed. Kandi posted the costume on Instagram and it's a doozy.
The Xscape singer dolled herself up in a tight black bustier and paired the glam attire with Coke cans in her hair. It was a look straight from the Cynthia archives, as evidenced by the handy side-by-side Kandi posted.
Kandi then revealed how the look all came together. "Tonight was the #50Cynt challenge! We all were suppose to dress up as different versions of @cynthiabailey10. Thanks @carmoncambrice for coming up with the idea to do the coke Can wig pic of Cynthia!" she shared. Legendary singer Chaka Khan has released the stunning visual for her recent single “I Love Myself” Ft. B.Slade. The nostalgic, soulful video, was directed by Seth Neblett and guest features 10 winners of the “I Love Myself” video contest – an initiative helmed by Khan to engage fans in helping to spread the message of self-esteem and acceptance by uploading a clip of themselves lip syncing the chorus of her new single.
“I Love Myself” was written and produced by GRAMMY-nominated singer/songwriter B. Slade, Eve Nelson and Khan and was released under her newly founded indie record label venture, iKhan Sounds. “I Love Myself” is an anthem that promotes self-esteem and putting one’s life in order. On the heels of last week’s release of the song, iKhan Sounds is releasing three remixes of “I Love Myself by West coast duo DJ Sidney Perry & Ranti Malone for Qubonix Productions. #HIPHOPNEWS: DMX Charged With 14 Counts Of Tax Evasion
DMX has just been charged with 14 counts of tax evasion, TMZ reports. The US Attorney’s Office of the Southern District of New York says that the troubled rap legend avoided paying over $1.7 million in taxes, concealing his income from the IRS for years by avoiding personal bank accounts, setting up accounts in others’ names, and living mostly off of cash. According to prosecutors, he also filed a false affidavit in US Bankruptcy Court listing his income as “unknown” for 2011 and 2012 and $10,000 for 2013, when in fact, he made hundreds of thousands of dollars every year. If convicted on all 14 counts, DMX could be looking at a sentence of up to 44 years in federal prison.

via People: “They started seeing each other while they were filming Spider-Man,” says the source. “They’ve been super careful to keep it private and out of the public eye but they’ve gone on vacations with each other and try and spend as much time as possible with one another.”
Adds an insider: “They’re both really ambitious and they challenge each other — but, most importantly, they make each other crack up. They seem to have a really similar sense of humor and love joking around together. They have great banter back and forth.”
Shortly before the July 7 premiere of their film, Holland, 21, opened up to PEOPLE about how Zendaya, 20, has helped him navigate the spotlight.
“We are like the best of friends. She’s so great and amazing,” Holland said of his costar. “I’m a little worried [about dealing with fame … but] Zendaya is super famous and she’s been through this and I just call her up and say, ‘How do I manage being famous?’ I’m very glad I have a friend like her.”
APES RULE! Planet of the Apes' wins box office war with 56.5 Million Dollars at the Box Office!
"War for the Planet of the Apes," the latest film in the rebooted franchise, brought in an estimated $56.5 million at the domestic box office this weekend.
That was enough to beat the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Sony and Marvel Studios' "Spider-Man: Homecoming" nabbed an estimated $45.2 million in North America in its second weekend.
20th Century Fox's rebooted "Apes" trilogy has a strong following and is one of the most successful film franchises in Hollywood, despite not receiving the widespread attention of fellow icons like "Star Wars" or Marvel.
This is the third installment of the new movie series, which is based on the 1968 film. It tells the "Planet of the Apes" origin story: how highly intelligent apes slowly take over the planet. The new film includes impressive visual effects and performances from Andy Serkis, who performs (via digital effects), and voices the leader of the apes, Caesar.
The three films, including "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" (2011) and "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" (2014), have brought in more than $1.1 billion worldwide while also receiving high marks from critics.
It doesn’t hurt that "War for the Planet of the Apes" has a 94% score on review site Rotten Tomatoes. That makes it one of the best reviewed films of the year.

The ‘Jersey Shore’ Cast Reunite … for a Burger King Commercial
Gym, tan … eat? The cast of The Jersey Shore reunited for Burger King’s new chicken parm sandwiches. In a TV spot filmed for the fast food chain, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Pauly D, Jenni “JWoww” Farley, Deena Cortese, Vinny Guadagnino and Sammi Giancola catch up on how life’s been since the series finale of the hit MTV show in 2012.
While bonding over the new menu item, moms Farley and Polizzi tell their former party pals what it’s like to be a parent.
“Parenting is kind of like being hungover all the time: I don’t want to wake up; I’m tired; I’m always screaming; I’m miserable,” shares Polizzi, who is mom of Lorenzo, 4, and Giovanna, 2.
“But it’s the best misery ever,” adds her BFF Farley, who is mom of Meilani, 3, and baby boy Greyson.
Despite their semi frightening description of parenthood, The Situation isn’t deterred.
“I want to propose in the next three months,” he gushes to the group while talking about his longtime girlfriend, Lauren Pesce. “I’m trying to have a little Situation.”
Cortese is also taking a big step. The reality personality let the clan know that she’s set to tie the knot soon.
“I’m getting married in three months,” shares Cortese, who got engaged to Christopher Buckner in Mexico in November.
Nick Cannon still feels ‘broken’ following his split from Mariah Carey
Nick Cannon feels “shattered” and “broken” after his split from Mariah Carey in 2014, and isn’t sure he’ll ever find love again.
While he is very much on the dating circuit, the 36-year-old rapper isn’t sure he will ever find love again because he is “shattered” after their split in 2014 following six years of marriage.
Asked when he is going to let his heart fall in love again, he said: “I can’t. I’m broken. I’m shattered.
“I don’t have a girlfriend. I’m always dating. Why not? I’m a single man, I’m supposed to date.”
Cannon was married to the superstar singer for eight years as their divorce wasn’t finalized until 2016, but insists there is no chance of the former couple getting back together.
Speaking about the 47-year-old star’s on-again, off-again boyfriend Bryan Tanaka, he said: “She’s got a boyfriend! He’s a nice guy.”
Despite that, Cannon, who has 6-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe with Carey, admitted the pair had a “special time” together and he will always be grateful for it.
Speaking to “Entertainment Tonight,” he said: “We made some amazing children together.”
Carey recently praised Cannon for being a “good guy” and admitted it’s “not that hard” to co-parent with him because they can have a laugh together.
“He’s the kids’ father and he does really nice things for me on Mother’s Day, so yeah, he’s a good guy. It’s not that hard to make it work. Now we can laugh, and joke, and do the good parts of when we had a relationship,” she said.

Director Ava DuVernay, fresh off of heavy projects like the civil rights drama Selma and her criminal-justice exposé 13th, was drawn to dabble in uncharted sci-fi territory upon discovering author Madeline L’Engle’s novel as an adult. DuVernay hadn’t read the novel — “I went to school in Compton and it wasn’t on my reading list,” she jokes — but the director, for whom time and energy on any project is a precious investment to say something, was impressed with the progressive ideas that L’Engle buried in her beloved 1962 novel. “I saw so much beauty in it, but also so much meaning. She’s a very radical thinker and she embedded her sense of what society should and could be in this piece, and a lot of it I agree with,” says DuVernay. “And through that, the story of this girl saving the world and being out there in the universe slaying the darkness, it also says a lot about slaying our own dragons.”
‘This Is Us’ Lands 11 Emmy Noms: Broadcast TV Makes A Comeback In Best Drama
Should This Is Us win on Sept. 17 when the Primetime Emmys are handed out, it would truly be an anomaly for a broadcast TV series as Fox’s 24 was the last series to win the awards slot eleven years ago.
This Is Us earned 11 nominations this morning including best drama, lead actor Sterling K. Brown, lead actor Milo Ventimiglia, supporting actress Chrissy Metz, and supporting actor Ron Cephas Jones.
While cable TV has dominated the TV drama category for several years with shows such as The Sopranos, Breaking Bad and Mad Men, that category has just become more competitive as streaming services like Netflix and Hulu entering the Emmy game. This year alone, Netflix has House of Cards, The Crown and Stranger Things in the category while Hulu broke through with The Handmaid’s Tale. There’s also AMC’s Better Call Saul and HBO’s Westworld. This leaves This Is Us as the only broadcast drama in the category.

According to reports, the two-time NBA champion will be honored at the 28th annual induction dinner on September 27th, 2017.
