Patriarch Joe Jackson is in the Final Stages of Terminal Cancer!🙏🙏
Joe Jackson, father of Michael, Janet and the performing family, and architect of The Jackson 5, is in the final stages of terminal cancer, a source close to the situation confirmed to Variety. TMZ and Britain’s Daily Mail first reported the news.
Family members, including his wife Katherine, are said to have visited him in the hospital this week. Jackson, 89, has suffered from a variety of ailments in recent years, including dementia, strokes, and at least one heart attack, according to reports. He was injured in a car accident a year ago.
The famously headstrong Jackson, father of 11 children, drove his performing family hard and at times subjected them to physical and mental abuse; the original Jackson 5 included sons Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon, and Michael, although younger sibling Randy also performed with the group and daughters LaToya, Rebbie, and, most famously, Janet also released albums. Over the decades, Joe has had a contentious relationship with many family members, including Michael. The Daily Mail claims that Jackson’s “handlers” had barred certain family members from visiting him, which son and former Jackson 5 member Jermaine spoke about to the paper.
“No one knew what was going on — we shouldn’t have to beg, plead, and argue to see our own father, especially at a time like this,” he reportedly said. “We have been hurting. We were not being told where he was and couldn’t get the full picture. Even from the doctor. My mother was worried sick.”
“He’s very, very frail, he doesn’t have long,” he continued. “The family needs to be by his bedside — that’s our only intention in his final days.”
Jackson famously steered his sons from hardscrabble beginnings in Gary, Ind., to superstardom as The Jackson 5 in the late 1960s, and their chart reign continued well into the 1970s. Yet the group splintered as Michael’s solo career blossomed, particularly with his breakthrough 1979 album “Off the Wall” and its blockbuster 1982 follow-up “Thriller,” and he effectively left the group after the troubled “Victory” tour in 1984. Joe ceased managing Michael in the early 1980s; the singer died of an accidental drug overdose in 2009.
The Jackson family patriarch has lived in Las Vegas for several years. One of his most recent public appearances was at the BET Awards in 2015, attending with his daughter Janet as she accepted the ultimate icon award. That same year, he suffered a stroke that reportedly left him with temporarily blurred vision.

#EMPIRE: ‘Empire’ Finale Kills Off A Major Character, Showrunner Teases What’s Next
OH MY GAWD!!!!!!! Where do we start? To refresh your memory “Empire” just lost one of its own — but the question is, who died?
“It sure as hell looks like someone died. The cliffhanger is someone dies,” teases “Empire” showrunner Ilene Chaiken, clearing up any prospective theories that may suggest otherwise.
After a half of season of wondering if Anika (Grace Gealey) pushed Rhonda (Kaitlin Doubleday) down the stairs, the two ladies came face-to-face – and someone was pushed again. Rhonda came up to the top of a building to find Anika and immediately starting fighting with her. After yells, screams and traded blows, Andre (Trai Byers) arrived on the scene, but just a second too late. As he looked over to see his wife fighting with Boo Boo Kitty, his face filled with sheer shock as he watched someone fall to their death. But viewers were left in the dark as the frame was filled with Andre’s face as a loud scream was heard in the background.
“If you have some type of technology that can analyze voices, that shouldn’t necessarily be the answer,” Chaiken says with a laugh. Confirming that one character is definitely dead, she reiterates, “Someone went over. You can tell by Andre’s reaction that someone went over.”
Last nights season finale also finally brought about Hakeem (Bryshere Gray) and Laura’s (Jamila Velazquez) wedding day. And if you know “Empire,” you know it didn’t go off without a hitch. In fact, Laura left Hakeem at the altar. When a fight broke out with one of Lucious’ (Terrence Howard) thug friends, played by the rapper Xhibit, Laura freaked out and realized this life was not for her. Though Hakeem and Laura were expected to tie the knot, with the wedding already set up, after Laura went running around in her white gown and veil, Lucious got married to Anika.
After being chased by the feds, Lucious and Anika realized the only way she would not have to testify would be to get married – and they had already obtained a marriage license way back when they were actually engaged. (Remember that?) As for the feds going after the Lyons, Tariq is leading the investigation. And turns out, he is Lucious’ half-brother. After Lucious married Anika, Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) flipped out and ran away, telling her ex-husband and three sons that she couldn’t support the marriage.
Oh My! Season 3! Come back to find out. What I will say is that Cookie and Lucious fell back in love with one another and more or less declared their intentions and Cookie was on the brink of what looked like real happiness. Kanye West and Chance the Rapper are still on an “Ultralight Beam.”
After joining forces on The Life of Pablo and Coloring Book, Yeezy and Chano took some time out of their schedules today to celebrate their mutual respect for one another.
Chance shared his appreciation for their bond in a series of tweets. “It’s crazy cause I feel like I met Kanye the first time I heard We Don’t Care. Like he’s been there for me since 2004,” he wrote. “Kanye was there when I tried out for the talent show, the first time I knew a kid who passed away, the first time I got suspended.”
Now that they’re buddies, Chance says it feels odd.

Staten Island Home Depot worker wears ‘America Was Never Great’ hat, drawing outrage and death threats
A Staten Island Home Depot staffer became the center of a social media storm — and received death threats — after a photo of her wearing a hat saying “America Was Never Great” surfaced on the web.
Krystal Lake, 22, was seen with the white hat at her Sunday morning shift at Home Depot in Mariners Harbor, according to the Staten Island Advance, which first reported the story.

“The point of the hat was to say America needs changing and improvement,” Lake told the Advance. “I don't think it's a positive message to say, ‘Let's look to the past.’
The hat was mocking GOP presumptive presidential Donald Trump's "Make America Great Again" slogan and red hat.
Lake, a Bernie Sanders backer, said she plans to wear the hat again, despite getting death threats and other nasty missives.
She put it on to contrast some of the pro-Trump paraphernalia she has seen in the Republican-heavy Staten Island.
"Trump is very rash and in your face, but when someone else has a message against him, his supporters can't take the criticisms," she told the Advance.
Lake, who is black, has gotten lots of hate messages. "People have been saying really racist things to me and that they're going to come and find me and that what I said is disgraceful and I hate America — but I don't hate America," she said.
"I know there are a lot of opportunities here," Lake added. "I just wish we would worry about making America better — not ‘great again.’”

Joe Jackson Hospitalized, Family Trying To Hold On “As Long As We Can”
Joe Jackson is currently recovering in a Los Angeles hospital after suffering from a high fever.
TMZ first broke the story; Jackson was hospitalized in Los Angeles after a routine checkup with his doctor. Sources close to the family revealed to the news outlet that Joe went in for a checkup on Friday, and while running tests, came up with a high fever.
Over the weekend, TMZ cameras caught up with Jermaine who confirmed that initially, his father was “not doing well.” However, Jermaine revealed to the photographer that his father is currently doing “much better” and that Joe is “just tired.”
Jermaine added, “He’s 87. Listen, my father’s very strong. He’s up there telling jokes, and he’s very strong. He’s doing fine.”
As for the family Jermaine explained they were “holding up well” and “we’re just making sure to hold on to him as long as we can. That’s what’s most important.”
On Wednesday, La Toya Jackson posted a message on Twitter that read:
Meanwhile, other sources are describing Joe’s symptoms as life threatening. “Joe was rushed to a nearby hospital and he is not expected to make it,” an insider told Radar Online.
In July 2015, Joe suffered a stroke while in Brazil.
Ashanti Dishes On New Album, Reconnecting With Ja Rule
Ashanti recently sat down with Hip Hollywood, where she dished on her new album, reconnecting with her label mate, Ja Rule, following his incarceration and the longevity of her career.
“I’m pushing it just a little bit, just lyrically and getting deeper, and finding different sounds,” she says about her upcoming album. “And, honestly, kind of sticking with what works for Ashanti. It’s always tempting to do something new and different, ‘this one is doing this, and this one is doing that.’ But, I think it’s very important to stick to your roots.”
Ashanti says that when Ja Rule went away, it kind of brought them closer.
“You know, like I was writing him, and we had a three hour conversation a day or two before he went in,” she explains. “It was crazy.. we talked about everything.. everything that happened within the years. And, it’s like we’re even closer now.”
On the longevity of her career, she says: “It’s weird, because sometimes, I didn’t like to bring up the federal indictment. I didn’t like to bring up certain things, because I felt like it was a cloud, but now, however many years later — being here, and executive producing a movie and still doing music and having my own record label, after going through something so harsh, is really like, a blessing.
Although Ashanti’s new album doesn’t have a release date yet, she plans to drop a new single this summer, and to have the album ready by the end of the year.
EgyptAir Flight MS804 Has Crashed Into Mediterranean
The flight from Paris to Cairo had 66 people aboard.
An EgyptAir plane that disappeared from radar early Thursday is believed to have crashed into the Mediterranean Sea, French President Francois Hollande confirmed.
“I share the anguish of the families affected by this tragedy,” Hollande stated on his Facebook page.
According to Egypt’s civil aviation ministry, search teams from Egypt and Greece are looking for debris and any of the 66 passengers and crew who may have survived.

The cause of the crash is unknown at this time. However, the pilot had more than 6,000 hours of flight experience, the airline said. The co-pilot had nearly 3,000 flying hours. And no adverse weather was spotted at the time of the jet’s disappearance.
EgyptAir Flight 804 left Paris at 11:09 p.m. and was scheduled to land at 3:05 a.m., Cairo time. It was at 37,000 feet when it vanished from radar around 2:45 a.m. Cairo time. The Airbus A320 had been flying for about 3 hours and 44 minutes, according to flight tracker Flightradar24.
Flight MS804 was carrying 56 passengers and 10 crew. Earlier the airline said 59 passengers were aboard but then revised the figure. The passengers included 30 Egyptians, 15 French nationals, two Iraqis and one passenger each from Algeria, Belgium, Canada, Chad, Kuwait, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Sudan and the UK.

In March, an EgyptAir flight with 81 people flying from Alexandria, Egypt to Cairo was hijacked and forced to land in Cyprus by a man with fake suicide belt. No one was harmed. The man, who a Cyprus official said seemed unstable, was arrested. Authorities didn’t classify the incident as terrorism.
In 1999, EgyptAir Flight 990 crashed off New England, killing 217 people. Investigators said the first officer likely intentionally crashed the airliner.
Big Freedia Headed to Rehab Prior to Sentencing for Welfare Fraud
Big Freedia is managing to avoid prison for the time being while she awaits being sentenced for welfare fraud by going to drug rehab.
According to Bossip, Freedia has agreed to attend rehab for substance abuse and will submit drug tests to her probation officer as part of a modification of the terms of her bail.
As you may know, Freedia pled guilty in March to one count of theft after stealing almost $35,000 in government funds by illegally collecting Section 8 benefits.
It’s unclear what drug(s) she’s entering treatment for.
Freedia is facing up to a decade behind bars and up to a $250,000 fine. Sentencing is scheduled for June 16.

According to Swedish website The Local, a producer for the show had taken to the stage to alert the screaming audience that there had been some issues on the stage.
Speaking to local paper Expressen, an member of the audience explained what had happened.
'The producer stepped up and said that they had 'some problems on stage'. A bit later Kravitz came out wearing other trousers. He said 'sorry, I ripped my trousers',' the fan said.
Ever the consummate performer, though, Lenny carried on with his gig, performing his greatest hits as he continued his globe-trotting tour, in line with his latest album, Strut.

#TEAMEMPIRE Is This The Real Cookie Lyon? Meet The Woman Suing ‘Empire’
#TEAMEMPIRE and Cookie Lyon fans Meet Sophia Eggleston.
This is the Detroit woman who claims she is the real-life Cookie Lyon. Sophia is now suing Empire co-creators Lee Daniels, Danny Strong and FOX for $300 million. She’s accusing them of ripping of her life to create Taraji P. Henson’s character.
According to Page Six, Eggleston, who used to be a “drug kingpin”, says there are many similarities between she and Cookie.
The suit alleges specific similarities to Eggleston’s life: “Cookie was a drug kingpin that went to jail. So did plaintiff Eggleston. Cookie is released from jail confinement and immediately places a hit on a certain individual. Plaintiff . . . actually was jailed for doing the actual hit on a man.”
In addition to her shady past, Sophia also says she enjoys rocking mink coats like Cookie and even has a gay family member, just like Lady Lyon’s son, Jamal.
After Eggleston did her bid in the pin, she wrote a book about her life called “The Hidden Hand”. Sophia claims she traveled to LA in 2011 to meet with screenwriter Rita Miller and gave Miller a copy of her book. Page Six reports that, “her copyright suit, filed in US District Court in Michigan, says she got a call from Miller several months later saying she was going to pitch her story to Daniels.”
Well, fast-forward to 2015 when Empire premiered and Eggleston got no credit. Call us crazy, but if she really did get her book to Mr. Daniels she could have a case on her hands.

It comes as no surprise that Nick was not allowed to attend Bobbi Kristina’s homegoing service. Last month, it was reported that a $10 million lawsuit had been filed by her conservators, accusing him of physical abuse and stealing money.
Joe Jackson Out of the Hospital After Stroke
*Joe Jackson has been discharged from the Brazilian hospital where he was treated after he had a stroke in late July while visiting Brazil.
The Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo said Tuesday that the Jackson family patriarch, 87, was discharged Monday. The hospital gave no further details.
Paulo Andre Silva – a partner at Nexxing, the company that invited Jackson to Brazil – says Jackson is resting in a Sao Paulo apartment and is expected to return to the U.S. on Saturday. His daughter Janet and his son Jermaine are with him.
Jackson was in Brazil to celebrate his 87th birthday. He was diagnosed with a stroke associated with cardiac arrhythmia and hospitalized on July 26
Secret Service Expert ‘Outs’ Hillary Clinton’s Marriage as ‘Fake’
*If the first thought that comes to mind after reading the headline is “Say it ain’t so!” you are probably not alone. Yet according to a Secret Service expert, Hillary Clinton’s 40-year marriage to former President Bill Clinton is nothing more than a business arrangement. He claims Bill and Hillary Clinton are faking their relationship and keeping it up for the sake of her presidential campaign.
Author and investigative journalist Robert Kessler has written 20 books about the Secret Service, the FBI and the CIA. He claims to have behind-the-scenes knowledge about government agencies, including the Secret Service, who have called Hillary Clinton’s marriage fake and strictly a “business relationship.”
“Agents say that it’s a business relationship. It’s not a marriage at all. It’s a total fake, like everything else about Hillary. It’s just a big show and a scam,” he explained, according to the Daily Mail.
He also claims that the 2016 U.S. presidential candidate believes average citizens are beneath her.
“Hillary Clinton pretends to be this champion of the little people — she’s gonna help the middle class, she’s compassionate,” Kessler argues. “But the reality behind the scenes is she treats her agents and others less powerful than she is with contempt.”
Kessler, a regular contributor to The Washington Post, is no stranger to exposing secrets about politicians and government agencies. In 2012, he exposed the Secret Service, saying they hired prostitutes while in Columbia. And in his latest book released early this year, he writes that Bill Clinton has a blonde mistress who goes by the code name “Energizer.”
Dr Dre to release “Compton : A Dr Soundtrack
Dr. Dre revealed this past Saturday on his Beats 1 Radio show The Pharmacy, that he’s releasing a new album Aug. 7th. It’s called “Compton : A Soundtrack. He states that he was so inspired by the the movie “Straight Outta Compton,” that he decided to release an album to coincide with the movie. The last album Dre dropped was 16 years ago, entitled “The Chronic : 2001. “Straight Outta Compton” is slated to be released Aug. 14th in theaters. Check out the tracklisting below, it features various artists by the likes of Kendrick Lamar and Ice Cube.
With all the remakes out now I suppose it was just a matter of time before they redid Curious George and the Man in the Yellow Hat…Looks like they’re targeting a more urban audience this time. I’m just saying it’s gonna be harder to keep up with George when you’re tripping over your pants.
