#FASHIONFAB: Jungjae Lee Stars In New Gucci Valigeria Campaign
When our minds wander to luxury, elegance, and the evolving fashion journey, renowned brands such as Gucci naturally come to the fore. In their most recent endeavor, they’ve spared no effort. Revisiting their roots in the second installment of the Gucci Valigeria campaign, they’re retracing the origins of their brand’s rich heritage. At the center of this captivating narrative? The acclaimed actor and global brand ambassador Jungjae Lee.
Imagine entering the iconic Savoy Hotel in London, buzzing with history and inspiration. That’s precisely what a young Guccio Gucci did. He worked as a porter there, absorbing the sights and sounds of the international jet set, their fine leather suitcases sparking his creativity. Returning to his hometown, Florence, Gucci opened his own shop specializing in English-style luggage in 1921. It was the beginning of a fashion revolution.
Fast forward to today, 102 years later, and Gucci brings this story to life with flair and nostalgia. Jungjae Lee embodies this past-meets-present ethos in the Savoy’s Royal Suite, decked with pieces from the Gucci DΓ©cor collection. He brings to life the original vision of the House, vividly depicting Gucci’s journey from a luggage atelier to a global powerhouse in luxury fashion.
What’s a story without its key characters, right? In this campaign, Lee presents the heritage-rich Gucci Savoy line, a tribute to the very hotel that played such a crucial role in the birth of the brand. But it’s not just about the past.
Gucci, known for its innovation, also introduces the new Gucci Porter line. In addition to luggage dressed in the iconic GG monogram, Gucci collaborates with Italian luxury luggage maker FPM Milano; they’ve created Web-embellished aluminum travel pieces—a surefire hit for the modern traveler.
#RHOA: Kandi Burruss Responds to Sanya Richards-Ross Saying She Would Bring Phaedra Parks Back to RHOA
Season 15 of Real Housewives of Atlanta is delivering the drama. Kandi Burruss is worldwide, so she doesn’t have time for newbie Courtney Rhodes. Kandi felt that Sanya Richards-Ross should have warned her about Courtney’s beef with her.
Then when Marlo Hampton claimed that Kandi didn’t give enough support after her nephew’s death, Sanya sided with Marlo. Marlo’s nephew was a former employee at the OLG restaurant that Kandi and her husband, Todd Tucker, own.
When Carlos King interviewed Sanya, he asked her which five peaches she would like to work with. She mentioned the name Phaedra Parks, which instantly pissed off Kandi.
Sanya’s dream cast is a nightmare for Kandi
Sanya told Carlos that she would keep Marlo and ShereΓ© Whitfield. Duh. “I’ve been on with Kandi and Kenya [Moore] so I’ve experienced them. So do I bring them back or do I bring on somebody new? I always thought Phaedra was a hoot,” Sanya stated. Unless she spread sex dungeon rumors about you. Then she is less comical.
“So, I think it’d be cool to film with Phaedra even though I know Kandi and Phaedra won’t film. That means I have to leave Kandi off one season. I’m a bring her back for Season 20. Bring her back. And Porsha [Williams].” Sanya added Claudia Jordan to round out her cast.
Don’t count Kandi out
Kandi addressed Sanya’s comments on her YouTube show, Speak on It. “And what I was saying before about how Sanya is getting on my nerves on the show and off … yeah, I saw that little clip of her doing an interview saying that she could see me off the show next season, did YOU really say that? You see me off but you don’t see YOU off? Okay, boo boo,” Kandi said.
The singer and actress made no secret of the fact that she will not film with Phaedra. After Phaedra spread that vile rumor in Season 9 about Kandi allegedly planning to drug and assault Porsha, Kandi was done.
Then she commented on the fact that Sanya was choosing people as a RHOA fan. “I’m just really cracking up because you are talking as a fan. And if we wanna talk about what the fans have to say, then you might not want to talk about who shouldn’t be here ’cause I see what the fans be saying online,” Kandi said. “And you gon’ talk about me not being here next year, ma’am? Then you might want to talk about yourself.”
Kandi added, “When it’s whoever’s time to go, it’s gon’ be their time to go. Whether it be me or you.” Bloop!
Real Housewives of Atlanta continues Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo.

#HipHopNews: Quando Rondo Indicted On Gang And Drug Possession Charges
Headlines were ablaze last week as Quando Rondo, along with 18 other individuals, found themselves ensnared in a significant legal battle. In a dramatic turn of events on Tuesday (June 20), the curtain was drawn back on a hefty 49-count indictment.
Notably, the legal maelstrom encompasses more than just drug charges. The 24-year-old rapper stands accused of a managerial role in the local faction of the notorious Rollin’ 60s gang.
The exhaustive list of charges was brought forward by the Chatham County District Attorney’s Office, as reported by WJCL. Each of the accused faces a litany of allegations, ranging from using cell phones for illicit activity to overt gang affiliation.
Moreover, the accusations against Rondo narrow down to two counts of conspiracy to violate Georgia’s controlled substances act, one count of engaging in criminal street gang activity, and a single count of using a communication facility in the commission of a felony concerning controlled substances.
A striking detail within the indictment traces back to a supposed event on June 4. The “Imperfect Flower” musician allegedly left his hometown of Savannah to visit Macon, Georgia. Per the citation, the purpose of this trip was to settle a transaction with a marijuana dealer.
For fans of Rondo, his arrest wasn’t entirely a bolt from the blue. The artist turned himself into law enforcement on June 16. Earlier that day, he sent a tweet to his loved ones. “I love you, Paris, Italy, Kiyah, my mama, Tess, my Grandma Freida,” he wrote. “I’ll be back!” The poignant message signaled an impending legal storm.
This latest incident adds to the string of controversies surrounding Rondo. His name hit the headlines in November 2020 when he became entangled in an Atlanta altercation that culminated in the tragic death of Chicago rapper King Von. A known associate of Rondo’s crew, Lul Tim, is allegedly the one who pulled the trigger, ending the life of the 26-year-old musician.
In March, Quando Rondo released his second studio album, Recovery, under Atlantic Records. The 20-song project boasted a lone feature from YoungBoy Never Broke Again in addition to standout tracks like “Me First” and “Where Would I Be.”
The Titan had been projected to run out of its 96-hour supply of breathable air on Thursday morning. And because the door was bolted from the outside, those inside would not have been able to open it on their own even if they were able to reach the surface. Asked about the possibility of recovering remains, Mauger called the conditions “unforgiving” and said there weren’t prospects for doing so at this time.
The Titan, operated by OceanGate, a private exploration company based in Everett, Wash., launched early Sunday morning to tour the Titanic wreckage with five passengers on board: OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush, 61; British billionaire and explorer Hamish Harding, 58; Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood, 48, and his 19-year-old son, Suleman; and Paul-Henri Nargeolet, a 77-year-old French explorer.
The Polar Prince, a Canadian research vessel and support ship for the expedition, lost contact with the submersible about an hour and 45 minutes after launch. OceanGate reported the Titan missing on Sunday evening, triggering a massive international search effort led by the U.S. Coast Guard and assisted by the U.S. Air Force, Navy, Air National Guard, Royal Canadian Navy and Canadian Coast Guard.
A Canadian P-3 aircraft equipped with sonar listening equipment detected underwater “banging noises” on Tuesday and Wednesday, raising hopes that the Titan crew might be found alive. But Coast Guard officials cautioned at the time they were not sure what caused the noises even while remaining adamant that the search remain in the rescue phase.
"This is a search and rescue mission, 100%," Frederick said Wednesday. "We are smack dab in the middle of search and rescue, and we'll continue to put every available asset that we have in an effort to find the Titan and the crew members."
Founded in 2009, OceanGate charges up to $250,000 per person for a chance to visit the remnants of the Titanic, which sank in 1912 on its inaugural trip from England to New York. While Rush stated last year that the submersible had made it down to the wreckage a dozen times over the last two years, there had been a number of red flags about the operation. In 2018, more than three dozen oceanographers and deep-sea explorers wrote a letter to OceanGate warning that its "experimental" approach could lead to "catastrophic" consequences for its Titanic dives.
A 10-minute segment from CBS News Sunday Morning in November 2022 foreshadowed the tragedy. Journalist David Pogue discussed some of the paperwork he had to sign in an almost humorous tone, reading, "This experimental vessel has not been approved or certified by any regulatory body, and could result in physical injury, emotional trauma, or death,” before adding, “Where do I sign?”
In the 2022 piece, Pogue noted that while he was on the expedition the submersible never made it to the wreck site because of communications errors. He quoted one passenger as saying, "We were lost for two and a half hours." Pogue's own scheduled trip to the Titanic was canceled due to poor weather, and a back-up excursion to the trip to a Continental Shelf was called off due to technical difficulties after 37 feet of descent.
In a tweet Monday, Pogue said the craft was, in fact, lost for five hours and that adding an emergency locator beacon was discussed. Pogue added, “They could still send short texts to the sub, but did not know where it was. It was quiet and very tense, and they shut off the ship’s internet to prevent us from tweeting.” The company cited the need to keep “all channels open” as a reason for cutting off internet access, he said.
Another former passenger on the Titan told the BBC on Tuesday said he had to sign a "death waiver" that "lists one way after another that you could die on the trip," including "[mentioning] death three times on page one, and so it's never far from your mind."
Stepson Of Billionaire In Missing Titanic Submarine Defends Attending Blink-182 Show Amid Search
The stepson of British billionaire Hamish Harding is not apologetic for attending a Blink-182 concert amid the uncertainty surrounding his stepfather's fate. Brian Szasz has defended his decision to go to the show during the high-stake rescue mission to find his stepfather and other four passengers onboard the missing Titanic submarine.
"Yes I went to @blink-182 last night," Brian posted on his Instagram Story on Tuesday, June 20 along with a photo of him at the venue. "What am I supposed to do sit at home and watch the news? Not sorry this band has helped me through hard times since 1998."
Brian Szasz is 'not sorry' for attending Blink-182 concert while search for his stepfather Hamish Harding is currently underway.
Brian revealed he went to the concert just hours after he shared on Facebook that his stepfather is one of the passengers onboard the missing submersible. "Hamish my stepdad is lost in a submarine thoughts and prayers that the rescue mission will be successful," so he posted on Monday.
In another post uploaded hours later, he shared a picture of him smiling while posing at the concert venue. "It might be distasteful being here but my family would want me to be at the blink-182 show as it's my favorite band and music helps me in difficult times!" so he claimed.
He, however, later deleted the post, noting that his mom Linda "asked me to delete all related posts. Thanks for the support."
Taking to Twitter, the audio engineer based in San Diego credited the band members, Tom DeLonge, Travis Barker and Mark Hoppus, for cheering him up during this difficult time. "My stepdad Hamish is on this submarine lost at sea," he tweeted on Monday night. "I'm devastated but coming to the San Diego show tonight so you guys can give me hope and cheer me up."
The Titanic tourist submarine was carrying five people when it went missing on Sunday, June 18. OceanGate lost communication with the submersible named Titan almost 2 hours into its journey down to the wreckage of the iconic boat that sank in 1912 in the North Atlantic Ocean.
The Titan was roughly 900 miles east of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and around 13,000 feet deep in the water, when it disappeared. It has a 96-hour emergency supply of oxygen onboard, which has likely dwindled to about 40 hours remaining. The U.S. Coast Guard has begun a search for the missing vessel and the passengers onboard.
"Our entire focus is on the crew members in the submersible and their families," OceanGate said in a statement. "We are deeply thankful for the extensive assistance we have received from several government agencies and deep sea companies in our efforts to reestablish contact with the submersible."
Other four passengers onboard the vessel are identified as CEO Stockton Rush, French explorer Paul-Henri Nargeolet, Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood and his 19-year-old son Suleman Dawood.
Jazmine Sullivan Cancels Her Set At Leimert Park Juneteenth Festival Following Stampedes
Jazmine Sullivan left fans disappointed as she was forced to cancel her set at Leimert Park Juneteenth Festival. Things were okay until it was time for the R&B star to perform as social media users suggested that multiple crowd stampedes caused disruption at the festival, which was hosted by Amazon Music Live.
Following the cancellation, Jazmine took to her Instagram account to address the matter without revealing why her set was called off. "I hope everyone made it home to their loved ones tonight!" so the "In Love With Another Man" hitmaker wrote. "I'm so disappointed we couldn't come together and celebrate Juneteenth!"
The acclaimed singer went on to urge fans to leave the venue as she said, "If you're still at the park please leave. The show is cancelled."
It's currently still unknown what caused the stampedes. Some accounts on Twitter claimed that there was a shooting, while some others said that people panicked over "fireworks." Some people, however, called it misinformation, stating that there was poor crowd control and two shoving incidents.
"Was headed home from the Juneteenth celebration in Leimert Park when I saw people running away from the park as if a shooting had occured. So I walked back to the park and everything was fine. Then it happened again. But someone on stage said there was nothing to worry about," a fan tweeted.
"Saw one person in tears afterwards and a few young kids with terrified looks on their faces. Lotta people left afterwards. 'Well that was traumatizing,' I overheard a woman say. 'For the kids.' Everyone walking away from the park seemed to be processing what happened," the person added.
Another concertgoer said, "Everyone was pushed and shoved right before Jazmin was supposed to come out! Apparently a tent fell down so that's why everyone started running??" Echoing the sentiment, one other user wrote, "N***a a tent fell, n***as start running like they was shooting. Jazmine Sullivan said f**k it and they shut it down. It was almost over anyway."
There's no official statement regarding the matter or whether there's a victim in the incident just yet.
Ryan Murphy leaving Netflix, reportedly heading to Disney
Producer Ryan Murphy will leave Netflix when his five-year deal expires and reportedly head back to Disney. The Yahoo Finance Live team discusses what these entertainment deals with big-name talent mean for the media industry.
- But speaking of shopping, one high profile producer is looking for his next big deal. That is Ryan Murphy. He is the producer behind big shows like "Dahmer", "American Horror Story", "The Watcher". He is leaving his five year deal with Netflix and reportedly is going to Disney World. He'll be reunited with Dana Waldman. She's the co-chairman of Entertainment, close friend and confidante of Murphy.
From what I've read, it's not super surprising that Murphy is reportedly going to Disney considering he has ties to that company through 20th Century Fox, FX, but it does signal to me a new era for Netflix, because Murphy was one of those creators early on who scored these big huge deals-- a reported $300 million for five years. Shonda Rhimes, another one of those-- $100 million multi-year deal as well.
So you wonder if Netflix is going to continue that approach or if they're going to be a little more selective and pull back.
- So that's my big question here. Would you invest in writers or actors, if you're trying to attract people to your streaming service right now, right? Because I looked it up, the reports for Adam Sandler's deal for four movies was $250 million. Obviously, Adam Sandler's huge. I was a big Adam Sandler fan when Adam Sandler made the more popular movies over 15 years ago now.
I haven't loved the Netflix movies, and I would not get Netflix to watch those movies, so I don't know if that's the play versus having a writer that's going to write something like "Dahmer", writw one of those TV series that we talk about a lot. It seems like that makes more sense to me than just getting a big name actor.
- I mean, back in-- it was three years ago when he signed the deal-- Murphy--
- Five years.
- Five years ago. That was like the heyday of Hollywood showrunners making tons of money. The streaming money was coming out the wazoo. We all three could have pitched a show and made some money off it--
- It's sort of an arms race, really, across all the streaming services--
Shonda Rhimes. They said Murphy. Huge guns that they brought into Netflix to sort of boost their offerings, and now it's like maybe that wasn't so worth it. Plus because there's a mixed track record there, right? Murphy and Netflix. So now he's going back to where he was very successful working with Dana Waldman, right? So we'll see if that works out. But I think you're right. I think it's the actors versus the showrunners.
- Oh, no, see, I would take the-- I would take the writer.
- No, that's the debate. I think it's a show runners that are the ones you want.
- I think it's risky in general because just because you invest in a really popular writer, producer, actor, that doesn't necessarily mean that their content, that their shows are going to explode, and we saw that with Murphy. Really, his only two shows that took off in Netflix were "The Watcher" and "Dahmer". He had a lot of other shows-- "Hollywood", "The Politician". They just did not do that well. And "Dahmer", that was towards the end of his five year deal.
- So was "The Watcher".
- So was "The Watcher". So you have to wonder that it's more so the show and whether or not that can take off in a certain way rather than--
- You were hitting on what it means for Netflix. I'm curious what it means for Disney though too when you think about would they let him write a "Watcher" style show or a "Dahmer" style show that goes on Disney plus. So then you're getting more of the adult side of Disney plus, maybe you put it in-- I'm totally spitballing here now, right? I'm going down-- down that rabbit hole but then you get more of an adult side of Disney Plus and you get the parents to actually want to use Disney plus more rather than just being mainly for your kids and for like superhero movies and stuff.
You get those kind of drama TV shows--
- Or Hulu, right? Like maybe--
- --out on Disney plus there. You put it on Hulu. I think that'd be an interesting side that I'm not sure Disney really has as a consumer--
- And real quickly here, "Dahmer" is going to have a season two. There's a season two iteration of that and Ryan Murphy is still going to produce that for Netflix even though he's reportedly going over to Disney. So perhaps, that's something that's worked into his contract.
A$AP Rocky Calls Pregnant Rihanna His ‘Wife’ As She Dances At His Concert In A Sheer Dress
A power couple through and through! While performing at the Spotify Beach at Cannes Lions event on Jun. 21, rapper A$AP Rocky, 34, made sure to shout out his leading lady, Rihanna, 35, who was in the audience (watch the video here). Not only did he call the pregnant songstress his “wife,” but he also dedicated his song “Sundress” to her. “I’d like to dedicate this song to my beautiful wife in the motherf****** building!”, he shouted, per Page Six.
While in the audience, Riri rocked a sexy sheer black dress complete with a sequined bikini underneath. The 35-year-old opted to tie her raven-hued tresses back in an elegant low ponytail and was even seen caressing her growing baby bump several times. Later, while the “Fashion Killa” hitmaker was performing, the Fenty Beauty founder was pictured grooving along to the music and moving her head along to the beat. The outlet reported that other A-listers at the concert included comedian Tiffany Haddish, Bachelorette alum Dale Moss and influencers David Dobrik and Cameron Dallas.
Soon after videos of Rihanna and A$AP Rocky landed online, many of the brunette beauty’s fans took to the comments to react. “RIHANNA IS DAMN FINE!”, one admirer tweeted, along with a video of Riri shouting “Oh my f****** song!” Meanwhile, in a separate thread one fan couldn’t help but gush over the expecting mom’s look. “she looks so gorgeous omg,” they wrote, while a third quipped, “She’s always looking good.” A$AP Rocky also had one of the fans shout him out in the comments too adding that he is “so fine.”
Rihanna’s night out watching her man sing comes just one day after the couple turned heads in matching denim outfits while at the Louis Vuitton show amid Paris Fashion Week. The billionaire paired her checkered denim jumpsuit with a matching bra top and silver hoop earrings, meanwhile the 34-year-old rocked a denim LV jacket with matching LV jeans. Riri and the father of her children made sure to rock similar beanies and were also seen cheering Pharrell Williams on at the end of his debut show.
The New York native and Riri welcomed a son, RZA, 1, in May 2022, and later announced they were expecting their second child together in Feb. 2023. Rihanna announced her pregnancy while performing at the Super Bowl Halftime show on Feb. 12, by rubbing her growing belly on stage. Since then, the makeup maven has gushed over her family and motherhood in recent months, including on Jun. 18, when she took to A$AP Rocky’s Father’s Day post to wish him the best. “The Mayers boys stole my whole heart! Happy Father’s Day nerd,” she joked in the caption of the adorable family photos.
Kevin Costner’s Estranged Wife Christine Baumgartner Is ‘So Angry,’ Duo Could Face ‘Bitter Court Battle’
Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner's divorce battle has gotten heated over the past few weeks — and it could get worse.
"For Kevin, it's pretty cut-and-dried," an insider exclusively reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly. "Christine wanted this split, so she should abide by the terms of their prenup [stating that she] had 30 days to move out after filing for divorce."
Baumgartner, 49, filed for divorce from the Yellowstone actor, 68, in May after 19 years of marriage. One month later, their split has gotten messy, with Costner alleging that Baumgartner refuses to leave their shared home. In court docs obtained by Us, Costner noted that estranged duo's prenuptial agreement states that Baumgartner had 30 days to move out after filing the divorce paperwork.
Baumgartner, meanwhile, claimed that her ex has no "legal" right to kick her off the property. “This RFO (request for order) seeks to kick Christine and their three children out of the house that the children have lived in for their entire lives,” John Rydell, Baumgartner’s lawyer, wrote in court documents obtained by Insider earlier this month. “Although the legal basis for Kevin’s request to kick his wife and children out of their home is all but nonexistent, this is still a matter of critical importance for Christine.”
Amid the property battle, Costner also accused Baumgartner of using his credit card to fund divorce expenses without his knowledge. In court docs obtained by Us earlier this month, Costner claimed that his estranged wife “has withdrawn from my bank account and charged on my credit card a total of $95,000, payable to her divorce attorneys and forensic accountant” since April.
"This could be a bitter court battle," the source tells Us. "Kevin's a man of strong conviction and stubborn to the bone."
A second insider, meanwhile, tells Us that Baumgartner thinks Costner should leave the property. "Christine feels he should be the one to go," the second source says. "She's so angry with Kevin for what she feels led to the end of their marriage — him putting work ahead of the family."
Last month, an insider told Us that Baumgartner wasn't pleased by Costner's filming schedule for Yellowstone. The show is in production on the second half of its fifth season, which was originally set to air this summer before delays pushed back the premiere date.
“Christine wasn’t happy with Yellowstone's schedule delays because it caused him to miss so much time with his family,” the source explained, calling it “one of the reasons” for the couple’s split.
The cowboy drama films in Utah and Montana, while Costner lives in California with Baumgartner and their three children: sons Cayden, 16, and Hayes, 14, and daughter Grace, 13. (Costner also shares daughters Annie, 39, and Lily, 36, and son Joe, 35, with ex-wife Cindy Silva and son Liam, 27, with ex Bridget Rooney.)
“He was on the fence about doing the show from the beginning. He had to be convinced to do the project,” the source explained in May, noting that Costner was always concerned about how often he'd be away from home while filming. “There were months of discussions with Kevin and his family before he did it. He didn’t want do the show without their input.”
Paramount Network, meanwhile, has since announced that Yellowstone will end with season 5 after months of speculation about where Costner stands with cocreator Taylor Sheridan. The saga will pick up with a new sequel that is currently in development.
Billy Porter strikes a “Pose” with new Madame Tussauds wax figure
Billy Porter had fans seeing double. The two-time Tony, Grammy, Emmy and NAACP Award winner attended his Madame Tussauds wax figure reveal in New York City. The celebration was held just days ahead of NYC Pride.
“She’s interactive, dahlings! When my manager Bill Butler told me that Madame Tussauds called, I screamed! Madame Tussauds is known all over the world. I am Black first and Queer second. Representation is really important for our kids and for our adults, too! And for folks to come in and to see this type of representation of themselves in the world? This is bigger than me,” Porter captioned an Instagram video upload of yesterday’s unveiling.
In the video, the “Pose” star raved over the result. “They have the lipstick right. They have the makeup right. Well, I did have them sculpt a little bit of cleavage,” Porter said of his low-cut turquoise look. The “American Horror Story” actor’s chic ensemble was a replica of his 2020 Grammys red carpet glam. “Baby, Billy is in a league [of] his own,” a fan wrote on a video of him shared by Entertainment Tonight from that evening. According to the outlet, the 53-year-old wore a custom Baja East jumpsuit by Scott Studenberg, and his head-turning hat was courtesy of Sarah Sokol Millinery.
Today (June 21), Porter continued to show appreciation for his perfectly chiseled sculpture. “I may have teared up in that photo with my mama! Madame Tussauds wax figure REALNESS. Thank you to all my friends and family who came out to be a part of this moment,” he captioned a series of social media snaps. To finish off the recap was a shot of what was served up at the bar. “Baby Was a Dancer” and “Black Mona Lisa” (both songs by the entertainer) were the specialty cocktails for the event.
Exonerated 5's Yusef Salaam is a candidate for a New York City Council seat
A man once wrongfully incarcerated is now running for office to join a city’s power structure that helped put him behind bars.
On Wednesday (June 21), The Associated Press revealed that Yusef Salaam, 49, is campaigning for a New York City Council seat. He is already well-known in the state for an incident that significantly altered his life’s trajectory.
In 1989, police arrested a young Salaam and four other Black teens, known to many as the Central Park Five. They were wrongfully accused and convicted of raping and beating a white woman in Central Park on April 19 of that year. “I’ve often said that those who have been close to the pain should have a seat at the table,” the politician shared during an interview at his campaign office. At the time of his arrest, Salaam was 15. He served almost seven years locked up. The four others, Antron McCray, Kevin Richardson, Raymond Santana, and Korey Wise, served between five and 12 years behind bars. Although, in 2002, a judge vacated their convictions after a reexamination of the case.
Per AP News, DNA evidence linked a man revealed as a serial rapist to the 1989 attack. For what they endured, the city agreed to pay the Exonerated Five a settlement of $41 million. Salaam is now one of three candidates in a tight June 27 Democratic primary to determine who will represent the Harlem district, the outlet noted.
“When people look at me, and they know my story, they resonate with it,” Salaam shared. “But now, here we are 34 years later, and I’m able to use that platform that I have and repurpose the pain, help people as we climb out of despair.” The New York native revealed he’s eager to address some of Harlem’s biggest crises, including poverty, homeless children, and rent issues.
Bad Bunny’s Spider-Man Spinoff ‘El Muerto’ Taken Off Sony Release Calendar
Sony’s “El Muerto,” a superhero spinoff starring Bad Bunny, no longer has a release date.
The film, originally scheduled for Jan. 12, 2024, has been removed from the studio’s calendar. As part of the announcement, Sony shifted around the dates for “Dumb Money,” inspired by the GameStop sock frenzy, which will open on Sept. 22 instead of Oct. 20; as well as the LaKeith Stanfield-led biblical epic “The Book of Clarence,” which took the place of “El Muerto” after moving from Sept. 22 to the mid-January slot.
“El Muerto,” set in Sony’s Universe of Marvel Characters, is the studio’s first live-action superhero movie to star a Latino actor. Known in the comics as Juan-Carlos Estrada Sanchez, El Muerto is a wrestler whose superhuman powers stem from a special mask that’s been passed down through generations. It’s not clear if Spider-Man will appear in the film, but El Muerto once faced the web-slinger (on the pages of Marvel Comics) in the hopes of unmasking the vigilante before the two ended up joining forces.
“To bring El Muerto to life is just incredible… so exciting,” Bad Bunny told audiences at CinemaCon in 2022, when the project was first announced.
“El Muerto” is one of several Spider-Man-related spinoffs in the works from Sony. So far, the studio has mined its arsenal of Marvel characters to mixed results. “Venom” and its 2021 sequel “Let There Be Carnage” scored with $1.3 billion combined, but neither were critical darlings. Ditto for Jared Leto’s vampire-inspired “Morbius,” which failed to charm audiences and ended its theatrical run with $167 million.
Up next, Sony has “Kraven the Hunter,” starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, on Oct. 6 and “Madame Web,” featuring Dakota Johnson, on Feb. 16, 2024.

Stage Crew Visibly Upsets BeyoncΓ© During Amsterdam ‘Renaissance Tour’ Stop
Michael Jackson and BeyoncΓ© both have something very important in common—they are both Virgos. Essentially that means they are hard-working perfectionists that stand for nothing less. This past weekend, Queen Bey herself, Mrs. Carter, got visibly upset at her Renaissance Tour stage crew during her show in Amsterdam.
Beyonce’s glitter ball horse usually elevates during this part of the show, but this time it didn’t. The crew seemed unsure of what to do next, and BeyoncΓ© was seen slapping a man’s hand away and mouthing ‘Oh My God!’ Not many people have seen Beyonce break character, so everyone anticipates boss lady will be laying down the law following this onstage fiasco.

Titanic submersible: All five people aboard the Titan submersible are believed to be dead, following 'catastrophic implosion'
The Coast Guard announced Thursday that it believed the five passengers who disappeared while attempting to explore the Titanic shipwreck were likely lost due to a “catastrophic implosion” of their vessel.
U.S. Coast Guard Rear Adm. John Mauger announced at a press conference that on Thursday morning, five major pieces of debris had been found on the seafloor about 1,600 feet from the site of the Titanic, a finding “consistent with the catastrophic loss of the pressure chamber.” Mauger said they then notified the families and offered their condolences.
Shortly before Mauger’s comments, the company running the expedition, OceanGate, announced that the five passengers “have sadly been lost.”
"These men were true explorers who shared a distinct spirit of adventure, and a deep passion for exploring and protecting the world's oceans," read the statement. "Our hearts are with these five souls and every member of their families during this tragic time."
The grim announcement came four days after a 21-foot tourist submersible named the Titan was reported missing approximately 900 miles east of Cape Cod, triggering a massive search to find the vessel before its occupants ran out of oxygen.
