#RHOA: Kandi Burruss Talks Rumored RHOA Exit — and Her Thoughts on a Potential Phaedra Parks Return
Kandi Burruss is staying real, whether that means she's a Housewife or not.
Amid a wave of renewed fan interest into Phaedra Parks possibly returning to The Real Housewives of Atlanta after a standout turn on Peacock's Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Ex-Wives Club, the Grammy winner exclusively tells PEOPLE she doesn't want to reunite with her former bestie in any capacity.
"No, no," Burruss, 46, says when asked during a discussion about her new single if she'd want to be a part of another season of RHOA featuring Parks. "I mean, I'm just being honest."
Though Burruss has long been adamant that she would exit RHOA if Parks, 48, were invited back, she continues, "I understand the fans want to support her, and I say, 'Sure, support her.' "
"She's on Bravo," Burruss adds, pointing to Ultimate Girls Trip, which is expected to air on the network this fall. "Support her!"
Parks was on RHOA from season 3 through 9, department when her once-close relationship with Burruss imploded. At the time, Parks admitted to spreading rumors that Burruss and her husband Todd Tucker allegedly planned to drug costar Porsha Williams and their mutual friend Shamea Morton in order to take advantage of them sexually. (Burruss and Tucker have vehemently and consistently denied those claims).
Since then, Parks — who shares sons Ayden, 12, and Dylan, 9, with ex-husband Apollo Nida — has made appearances on a number of other television projects, including Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Hop Edition. She returned to the Housewives universe on Peacock's Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip Ex-Wives Club this summer, where she classified her exit from RHOA as "B.S." and insisted "there are two sides to every story."
Though Parks didn't appeared to tell hers, she claimed to Entertainment Tonight in July that she did and Peacock "chose not to air" her side, citing possible legal issues that might prevent her account from ever surfacing.
Asked if she would ever return to RHOA, Parks — who in June had told PEOPLE "you can never say never" — said to ET that it wasn't on her radar. "I've made it very clear, that's not what I want to do," she said. "No. I will be yachting. Let them continue to sail away on the Titanic, okay?"
She did tease that she had her sights on another Bravo series — The Real Housewives of Dubai — and insisted that there was no bad blood between her and the network. "Obviously I'm back in the Bravo family, so that speaks volumes, shall we say," she said. "If obviously there was this whole issue with me and they didn't want to be bothered with me, you wouldn't see me popping up at every event. Because I didn't invite myself, baby."
As for Burruss, despite fans speculation that she might be exiting RHOA after this season, the "No Scrubs" songwriter tells PEOPLE that she's not sweating whether there will be a RHOA peach in her hand in the future.
"I don't really think about it," says the reality star, who has played a key role in at least five RHOA spinoffs over her 12 seasons on the show. "It's going to be what it's going to be. I enjoy being a part of the Bravo family. Regardless of whatever, I'm still part of it."
The mother of four is currently filming her latest spinoff, which features members of '90s R&B trio SWV and her own girl group Xscape. The new show, inspired by the groups' Verzuz battle in May, follows Burruss's appearances in Xscape: Still Kickin' It, as well as her other series Kandi & the Gang, Kandi Factory, Kandi Koated Nights, Kandi's Wedding and Kandi's Ski Trip.
"For everybody who speculates if they're going to see me on Bravo, they're going to see me on Bravo," Burruss says. "One way or the other, I'll be here."
Fans can see Burruss next in the upcoming RHOA reunion. Asked if the reunion was going to be spicy, Burruss says, "Yeah can bet everything you got on it. It's definitely spicy."
I'll tell you a little tidbit," she continues. "I arrived and I was like, 'Who did this damn seating lineup?' Because usually they sit you across from the person you're feuding with. But there are a couple of people who were definitely not getting along during the season, and they sat them right next to each other! I was like, 'Who came up with this? I always thought the point was to separate us!' I came into the room and was like, 'Ummm I don't know if this is a good idea!' "

It was a big week for DJ Khaled, who dropped his new album “God Did” on Friday, ahead of attending the MTV VMAs on Sunday.
He opened up to “Extra’s” Rachel Lindsay about his new music, revealing he’s open to a collab with Britney Spears.
Khaled shared, “To be able to drop an album and come touch the VMAs at the same time is a blessing… I feel the love from the whole globe.”
According to Khaled, JAY-Z called Khaled’s new work his best yet! “I played JAY-Z my album,” Khaled reported. “He said it was my best album and I was blessed for him to get on a record that I produced, called ‘God Did.’”
The star added, “It feels amazing because this is my 13th album and to name my 13th album ‘God Did’ and to make my best album on my 13th album, that’s a blessing. I am just grateful… When you love something so much… I blocked out all distortion and was just dialed in and God took over and he’s like, ‘Yo, go do God’s work.’ They didn’t believe in us, God did.”
DJ Khaled is known for his collaborations, and Rachel brought up the new collab that Elton John and Britney just dropped called “Hold Me Closer.”
Lindsay asked if Khaled would ever collab with Elton or Britney. He said, “I would collaborate with anyone that’s representing the love of the music… Collaborating is a beautiful thing. It is important that we come together and make great songs.”

#HipHopNews: Jay-Z Recorded His ‘God Did’ Verse In One Take, Says Engineer Young Guru
JAY-Z rapped his almost four-minute verse on DJ Khaled‘s “GOD DID” in one take, according to his longtime engineer Young Guru.
Hov delivered a masterclass in MCing on the title track from Khaled’s new album that dropped on Friday (August 26), with Guru revealing his amazement about him recording the verse in one go. Despite their long history of working together, Guru had never seen anything like it before.
“People think I’m still not amazed when he walk in and do these verses,” he told Genius’ Rob Markman and GQ’s Frazier Tharpe. “And this one was different because normally, we’ll sit down, we’ll do a song, three verses, two verses or whatever, and he’ll have a verse and then we’ll figure out what’s next.
“No, he walked in and this was completely, he’s spitting the verse to me. One take. He’s literally asking me, ‘Guru, put the beat on.’ I’m like, ‘Khaled didn’t send me the beat, you didn’t send me the beat. Send me the beat.’ So then he sends me the joint and I started trying to loop it, and he was just like, ‘No, no, no, hit Khaled and get the whole instrumental,’ so he could spit the whole verse.”
He continued: “I didn’t know he had almost four minutes and how many bars or whatever ready, so I’m just in amazement of watching him do this again at 52 years old. It’s like, I never stop being amazed. That’s why I tweeted ’cause it’s just like, ‘Yo, I don’t really wanna have a conversation after this.'”
The tweet Young Guru referenced saw him praising JAY-Z’s verse weeks before “GOD DID” was released: “HOV is the greatest of all time. This can’t be debated anymore!!!”
Ludacris, Lil Rel Howery, Teyonah Parris to Star in Disney+ Holiday Comedy
Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Lil Rel Howery, and Teyonah Parris are set to star in the upcoming Disney holiday comedy Dashing Through the Snow, according to Deadline.
The film is set to be directed by Tim Story, who is perhaps best known for helming the 2002 comedy Barbershop, before also going on to direct the two Fantastic Four films in the 2000s.
Alongside Story, Will Packer and John Jacobs will join as producers on the project, with Deadline noting that production is already underway in Atlanta, with the film set to release sometime later this holiday season on the Disney+ streaming service.
Dashing Through the Snow will tell the story of a divorced social worker in the Atlanta police department, who does not like Christmas at all due to a childhood memory involving the holiday. However, while out on a call on Christmas Eve, he not only gets on the bad side of a local politician but “meets a man who helps him understand the joy and magic of Christmas.”
Chris “Ludacris” Bridges is best known for his career as a rapper but has been no stranger to the world of film. Recently, the actor has mostly starred in the Fast & Furious franchise, with the actor set to appear in Fast X and the second part of the film in 2023 and 2024, respectively. Comedian Lil Rel Howery is best known for his television series Rel, as well as his appearance in Jordan Peele’s 2017 film Get Out, while Teyonah Parris is currently set to star in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film The Marvels as Monica Rambeau.
DaBaby Concert Canceled Due To Low Ticket Sales
A DaBaby concert scheduled for Friday, Sept. 2 at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans has been canceled.
According to reports, Ticketmaster’s seating chart for the concert was deactivated Tuesday. Apparently, it showed that hardly any advance tickets had been sold, even though they were priced as low as $35.
The number of tickets sold appeared to be fewer than 500 for an arena with a concert capacity of 14,000 or more, according to reports.
No word on if the show will be rescheduled for another date.
Chris Rock In Hot Water for Joke About Nicole Brown Simpson’s Murder
Chris Rock is in hot water for comparing a return to the Oscars stage with the late Nicole Brown Simpson’s murder.
During a stand-up show in Phoenix on Sunday, the comedian, 57, revealed that he was asked to host next year’s Oscars after Will Smith infamously slapped him at the 2022 show.
Rock then joked that he would not go back to the Academy Awards because it would be like asking Simpson “to go back to the restaurant” where she left her eyeglasses before she was killed, according to the Arizona Republic.
Simpson was stabbed to death in 1994, and her ex-husband, O.J. Simpson, stood trial for murder in one of the most highly-publicized cases in history. He was acquitted, but the verdict was controversial.
People on social media slammed Rock for likening the two incidents, and are now saying perhaps he deserved to get assaulted by Smith, 53, for making a “G.I. Jane” joke about Jada Pinkett Smith, who suffers from alopecia, for being bald.
“The more Chris Rock talks, the more you begin to see why Will Smith smacked fire outta him,” one person, receiving more than 14,000 “likes,” tweeted.
Another sarcastically added, “Yeah chris rock – you getting slapped for talking s–t and nicole brown simpson’s brutal murder are totally comparable events. great analogy. you totally care about violence against women. fully clear to us now.”
Photojournalist Gregory Anderson agreed, pointing out that perhaps Fred Goldman, the father of Ron Goldman, who was killed alongside Nicole, should have the “honor” of slapping Rock now for the bad joke.
“Comparing what happened to him to what happened to Nicole Brown Simpson is truly tasteless and not at all funny,” he added.
However, others called out the fact that the general public were not as harsh on Rock when the butt of his joke was Pinkett-Smith, and claimed it’s because she’s a “black woman.”
One user tweeted, “Disrespect the Black woman, & that’s okay. But dammit, disrespect a dead White woman & he’s hated.”
Another wrote, “So you [white women] who ran to Chris Rock’s defense after Will slapped the ?out of him, for insulting and offending Jada, still on Chris Rocks side? I know you didn’t care about Jada’s feelings cause she’s a [black woman], but will you say ‘It was only a joke’ now that he’s offended Nicole’s Family?”
A rep for Rock did not immediately return Page Six’s request for comment on the criticism.
MC Lyte And Grandmaster Flash To Be Celebrated At RIAA Honors
Grandmaster Flash, MC Lyte, Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, and Universal Music Group general counsel Jeffrey Harleston will be among this year’s RIAA honorees to celebrate their new headquarters in Washington D.C.
“I don’t think there has ever been a time in music history when the influence of hip-hop has been more evident…. Streaming is the biggest revenue generator for the industry, and hip-hop accounts for a huge percentage of those streams,” said RIAA chairman/CEO Mitch Glazier to Billboard. In light of Hip-Hop’s dominance, Glazier feels “now is exactly the right time to look back” to celebrate rap’s pioneers.
“It’s an honor to be recognized, but also to be in great company with artists that have touched millions of fans as I have in my career. We artists do this to touch our fans, and the RIAA makes sure it’s counted,” shared Grandmaster Flash.
On MC Lyte, Glazier considered the Lyte as a Rock rapper “was an innovator in the art of singles and collaborations and made sure that collaboration in the hip-hop community was the key element of the art going forward.” He added, “She has also evolved into all aspects of hip-hop, not just being an MC but also in fashion, acting, art, and other parts of the culture.”
She chimed in, stating, “It is an amazing honor to receive such an acknowledgment from the RIAA. They’ve watched my maturation from adolescence into adulthood and witnessed every musical release. I’m excited and inspired to do more, and thank you to the RIAA for recognizing me and the body of work I’ve created with an amazing and talented group of music makers.”
The RIAA Honors returns after being postponed for two years and takes place on Sept. 14 at the new RIAA headquarters on F Street NW at the East End of Washington, D.C. They’ve also partnered with the National Museum of African American Music to create content with the National Recording Registry in conjunction with the RIAA Honors, including coverage on the museum’s podcast The State of Black Music. Video interviews will also be conducted to tell the story of its pioneers for the Library of Congress.
Joe Budden Accuses YouTuber Adam22 Of Capitalizing Off Kevin Samuels’ Death
Rapper and host Joe Budden took it upon himself to confront YouTuber Adam22 about reposting content of image-consultant Kevin Samuels in a recent episode of his self-titled podcast.
On Monday (Aug. 29), Budden posted a video clip where he and the No Jumper host engaged in a heated discussion surrounding Adam’s timely intent for reposting clips of Samuels. The controversial social media consultant allegedly died from hypertension.
“I got some smoke for you,” Budden began speaking while looking stoically at Adam. “Rest In Peace to the Good father, Kevin Samuels,” he continued. “I don’t like what you did after he died.”
Insisting Budden was referring to him re-uploading content about Samuels, Adam said, “What? Re-uploading the videos?” Budden cut him off with, “It’s disgusting. Disgusting. Disgusting. The nastiest performance I’ve ever seen. Why do y’all do that?”
“That’s an insane position for someone who’s in media to hold,” Adam responded. “What is your job as a content creator? Your job is to make content and get that content out to the people who want to see it.”
“False,” Budden immediately replied. “[If] someone dies, there is a huge demand for that content,” Adam explained. “You re-upload it, people see it on their subscription feed, they click on it because [it’s] a very talked-about thing. Give me a coherent argument against re-uploading content when that person is extremely newsworthy.”
Adam also explained that video clips hadn’t been edited and posted until at least a day after he died.
Both Budden and Adam agreed that the content Adam reposted didn’t shed a negative light on Samuels or slander his name. Both kept their positions on the topic.
Budden then went on to argue that Adam’s reasoning for posting the content was to capitalize off Samuels’ death monetarily. “Then turn off monetization,” Budden suggested counteracting Adam’s claims that he isn’t capitalizing on Samuels’ death. Adam then justified monetizing it because he believed it would “stop it [the interview] from spreading on the platform,” if he didn’t.
Adam later compared reposting the content to how the radio stations still play Pop Smoke’s music after his death. He then chalked up sharing the Samuels’ content as “a celebration of Samuels,” just as listening to Pop’s music after he died is a way to celebrate the rapper’s life. Budden and his cohosts considered the two instances completely different situations that are incomparable.
Budden and Adam never did come to a common ground in the debate.
Sony sues Triller for missed payments following $28 million Verzuz suit
Triller is facing more legal problems as Sony Music Entertainment has filed a lawsuit against the company for alleged missed payments. According to the lawsuit filed on Monday (Aug. 29), Triller failed to fulfill its obligations on time, totaling millions of dollars. The company has not yet paid the outstanding fees.
Billboard has reported that Sony sent several requests for payment to Triller but received “near-total radio silence” in response. Finally, in July, Triller was notified of the material breach in its agreement, and on Aug. 8, the deal between the companies was effectively terminated.
Sony is also suing the company for copyright infringement, damages, and an injunction. The lawsuit states that “Triller has continued to reproduce, distribute, publicly perform, display, create derivative works, and otherwise exploit the valuable Sony Music Content in connection with the Triller App.”
In 2016, Sony signed a licensing agreement with Triller that changed several times, with the most recent agreement – titled “the Eleventh Amendment”- taking effect on Dec. 1, 2020. In the “Eleventh Amendment,” Sony was to receive an initial payment followed by several more payments from March. 1 through Nov. 1. Triller allegedly never sent the monthly payments or interest accrued on overdue fees.
Triller already has an ongoing lawsuit against Swizz Beatz, Timbaland, and their battle platform Verzuz. The duo is suing Triller for breach of contract, claiming it owes them more than $28 million after acquiring their live-streaming music series Verzuz.
In the lawsuit, Swizz Beatz and Timbaland claim the company failed to deliver a large settlement promised in March 2022 after they agreed to sell Verzuz to Triller in Jan. 2021. They were supposed to be paid $9 million each by March. 17, as stipulated in the contract. After that, Triller would pay each of them $500,000 on the first of every month for 10 months.
Currently, the lawsuit is in progress.
Laverne Cox was flattered to be mistaken for Beyoncé during U.S. Open
As Serena Williams embarked on what is possibly her last pro tournament on Monday (Aug. 30) night, she brought a star-studded group of spectators, including award-winning actress Laverne Cox.
From Coco Gauff to Queen Latifah, the stars were in the building during last night’s U.S. Open event so it doesn’t come as a complete surprise that fans thought Beyoncé was also in attendance. While people thought they may have spotted the Renaissance creator in the crowd, it was actually Cox. “#Beyonce at the #USOpen,” wrote a Twitter user in a caption accompanied by a video of a Black woman sporting hoop earrings and a face mask. It just so happened that this person was the former “Orange is the New Black” star.
Cox has never shied away from her love of Beyoncé. In fact, just hours ahead of the matchup, she shared a video of her getting ready with none other than the Houston native herself playing in the background. “Everybody knows that I live for Beyoncé,” said Cox in a previous interview with “Entertainment Tonight.” “I try not to worship gods on earth, or goddesses, but I worship Beyoncé.” Furthermore, the 50-year-old entertainer poked fun at the hilarious case of mistaken identity by sharing some of the reactions across social media to her Instagram profile. “Not me getting mistaken for @Beyonce at the #USOpen tonight then trending on Twitter as the internet cackles over the mistaken identity,” wrote Cox in a caption. “These tweets are funny as hell. Enjoy!!!”
As the culture prepares for what the sport of tennis will look like now that Williams has announced plans for retirement, tributes have flooded the media, including a Gatorade ad narrated by Beyoncé. “When the world writes her down in history, we’ll begin where she started: at love,” said the “Alien Superstar” songstress in the commercial. “No points, zero score – just love. Leonardo DiCaprio & Camila Morrone Split After 4 Years of Dating
Leonardo DiCaprio and Camila Morrone are going their separate ways.
The 47-year-old Academy Award-winning actor and the 25-year-old model and actress have ended their relationship after four years, People reported on Tuesday (August 30).
The couple, who kept their relationship largely private, had been linked since being spotted together in Aspen, Col. in January of 2018, and they made their official debut as a couple at the Oscars in 2020.
The last time they were spotted out together was over the Fourth of July weekend, in Malibu, Calif. Earlier this summer, Leo vacationed around Europe on a yacht where he was spotted hanging out with a fellow Oscar-winning actor.
Camila was recently seen on vacation with her mother in St. Tropez.
A few years ago, she addressed their much-buzzed about age gap: “There’s so many relationships in Hollywood — and in the history of the world — where people have large age gaps. I just think anyone should be able to date who they want to date,” she said at the time.
‘The Conners’ Star Michael Fishman Addresses Series Exit: ‘I Was Told I Would Not Be Returning’
Michael Fishman has released a statement regarding his departure from ABC’s “The Conners” ahead of the show’s fifth season.
“It has been my honor to play D.J. Conner,” Fishman said in a statement to People. “It’s every actors dream to be a series regular, especially on a groundbreaking show, where we tackle significant topics.”

“While I was told I would not be returning for season 5, Lanford was a valuable place to grow up, learn and develop,” Fishman concluded. “I was incredibly lucky to return home and demonstrate my expansion. As I venture into the world to build the future, I send tremendous love and success to everyone involved in production.”
Fishman played D.J. Conner in the series, reprising the role he played for 10 seasons on “Roseanne.” Exact details on how Fishman will be written out of the show are currently under wraps, but it will supposedly leave the door open for him to return in future episodes if he wishes. Jayden Rey, who plays DJ’s daughter Mary in the show, will be back as a series regular.
Cast members John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, Lecy Goranson, Emma Kenney, Ames McNamara, Jay R. Ferguson, and Katey Sagal will all return for the new season. Sagal joined the show in its first season as Louise, a former high school classmate of Dan, Roseanne, and Jackie who eventually becomes Dan’s new wife.
Fishman first began playing D.J. Conner in 1988 in the second episode of “Roseanne.” He stayed with the show throughout its first nine seasons, returning along with the rest of the original cast for the 2018 revival. He has also directed five episodes of “The Conners” since 2020, most recently directing the Season 4 episode “Messy Situation, Miscommunication and Academic Probation.”

Meghan Markle Tells Mariah Carey She Was Not Treated as a 'Black Woman' Until She Started Dating Prince Harry
Meghan Markle released the second episode of her Spotify podcast Archetypes Tuesday, this time welcoming singer Mariah Carey as her guest.
The Duchess of Sussex, 41, chatted with the 53-year-old singer for a conversation titled "The Duality of Diva," where they spoke about the modern interpretation's negative connotations of the word "diva" and being biracial.
Mariah touched on how she moved over a dozen times during her youth and grew up without much, struggling to fit in with each new start.
"I didn't fit in. I didn't fit in. You know, it would be more of the Black area of town or then you could be where my mom chose to live, were the more, the white neighborhoods. And I didn't fit in anywhere at all," she began.
"Yeah, I understand that," Meghan echoed, adding that she had looked forward to welcoming the pop icon on Archetypes for much more than her music.
"You were so formative for me. Representation matters so much," she said. "But when you are a woman and you don't see a woman who looks like you somewhere in a position of power or influence, or even just on the screen — because we know how influential media is — you came onto the scene, I was like 'Oh, my gosh. Someone kind of looks like me. ' "
Alluding to another trailblazing woman in Hollywood, Meghan continued, "I had read this article about Halle Berry, and they were asking her how she felt being treated as a mixed-race woman in the world. And her response was her saying, 'Well, your experience through the world is how people view you." So she said because she was darker in color, she was being treated as a Black woman, not as a mixed woman."
"And I think for us, it's very different because we're light-skinned," she said. "You're not treated as a Black woman. You're not treated as a white woman. You sort of fit in between.
"I mean, if there's any time in my life that it's been more focused on my race, it's only once I started dating my husband. Then I started to understand what it was like to be treated like a Black woman," Meghan said, referencing her relationship with Prince Harry. "Because up until then, I had been treated like a mixed woman. And things really shifted."
In reply, the "Obsessed" singer said that feeling forced to choose between identifying as Black or white was an "interesting thing."
"As mixed woman, because I always thought it should be okay to say I'm mixed. Like it should be okay to say that. But people want you to choose," she said, to which Meghan agreed.

Meghan and Prince Harry first announced a "multi-year partnership" between Spotify and their production company Archewell Audio in 2020. According to a previously shared press release, Archetypes intends to "investigate the labels that try to hold women back.
Speaking with historians and experts, Meghan will "uncover the origin of these stereotypes and have uncensored conversations with women who know all too well how these typecasts shape narratives."

Fans on Twitter expressed there excitement for Richardson after the news broke that she won Tuesday with one user saying, “Shacarri Richardson beat the fastest girl in the world today and aint getting no love for it…Thats crazy.”
As we previously reported, Richardson wasn’t able to run in the Tokyo Olympics after she made national news for failing a drug test for marijuana after she qualified first at the U.S Olympic trials back in June of 2021. Which caused her to be suspended for a month.
Richardson also faced off against face off against Jamaica’s sprinters Elaine Thompson-Herah, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Sherika Jackson who swept the competition in the 100-meter sprint at the University of Oregon’s Hayward Field. Woman Gets Knocked Unconscious During Scary Brawl At Chris Brown Concert
What was supposed to be a fun time at Chris Brown’s concert at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, CA on Friday turned out to be a freighting experience for a few fans.
According to @tmz_tv, a crazy fight broke out during the Aug. 26 show where rapper Lil Baby also performed. In a video obtained by the news outlet shows a woman laid out unconscious on the ground while two men are going at it around her. It was said that the brawl started between two women in the front section of the Kia Forum near the end of Breezy’s set. Apparently, two men jumped into the fight and one of them socked one of the women, knocking her unconscious.
The clip shows fans dragging the woman to the side of the arena and trying to help her but she wouldn’t move. Unfortunately, the scary scene didn’t stop the fight as the men continued to square off on the other side. Bystanders eventually broke up the fight after about three minutes while security guards didn’t seem to do much. So was Chris Brown aware at the time? The news site notes that he didn’t seem to know what was going down and continued his performance for the rest of his fans.
So far, he has yet to speak out on this wild altercation that went down at his show. As for the condition of the injured woman, that is currently unknown. It’s also unclear what precipitated the fight or how the parties knew each other … if it all.
Aside from the drama that Chris Brown wasn’t involved in, the singer has been praised online for his great shows and backstage experience with fans.

Knicks Agree To Four-Year Extension With Rj Barrett Worth $120M
After what has already been a busy summer for the New York Knicks, the franchise has made another move. On Tuesday, the Knicks and swingman RJ Barrett agreed to a four-year rookie extension that could bring the player $120 million.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the agreement complicates the pursuit of Utah Jazz All-Star Donovan Mitchell. He has long been considered a lock to make a new backcourt in Madison Square Garden with newly acquired free agent Jalen Brunson.
RJ Barrett is now the youngest $100 million player in Knicks history at just 22 years old. The deal came after president of basketball operations Leon Rose reportedly made a Monday night deadline to get the Mitchell job done.
Headed into Monday, discussions around Mitchell were believed to have progressed, but there were still hurdles in getting the job done.
Last season, Barrett averaged 20 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3 assists.

Reebok has officially announced a September 1 release date for the brand-new LX2200, a contemporary take on one of its most recognizable running shoes, the LX8500.
In 1985, Reebok released the LX8500, a high-end runner. NFL Rookie Brian Robinson Jr. Out of Hospital After Shooting – Pics of Suspects Released
*(CNN) — Washington Commanders rookie running back Brian Robinson Jr. says his “surgery went well” after he was shot Sunday in Washington, DC, in what police say may have been an attempted robbery or carjacking.
Robinson shared the news in a brief message on his Instagram stories on Monday, writing, “Thanks for the prayers! God is Great!”
Robinson suffered two gunshot wounds to his lower extremities and was taken to a local hospital, Metropolitan Police Department spokesperson Dustin Sternbeck said. The shooting happened in the 1000 block of H Street NE, police said. Two suspects fled the scene, and officers recovered a firearm nearby, Sternbeck said.
The Commanders confirmed the incident in a statement Sunday evening.
“He sustained non-life-threatening injuries and is currently being treated at the hospital, where Team officials are on-site with him. We ask that you please respect Brian’s privacy at this time,” the Commanders said.
The shooters allegedly approached Robinson around 5:30 p.m. Sunday with a gun and tried to rob him, DC Metropolitan Police said in a statement late Monday.
“During the robbery attempt, the suspects fired their handguns, striking the victim. The suspects fled the scene in a vehicle without obtaining any property,” police said.
Police released a surveillance photo of two suspects as well as of the car they allegedly used to flee the scene.
Commanders head coach Ron Rivera visited with Robinson, who he said was in “good spirits.”
“He wants his teammates to know he appreciates them all for reaching out and he loves them all & will be back soon doing what he does best,” Rivera said on Twitter.
Robinson Jr. was drafted in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of the University of Alabama. He did not play in the team’s final preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens Saturday night.
South Dakota School Calls for Black Student to Cut Dreadlocks or Leave
*A South Dakota High School has allegedly threatened a Black student with expulsion if the doesn’t cut his dreadlocks.
According to the Argus Leader, O’Gorman High School administrators warned the parents of 14-year-old freshman Braxton Schafer that he must cut his hair or leave the school.
Braxton’s mother Toni Schafer told the publication that her son has been in the Bishop O’Gorman Catholic Schools system since sixth grade and his hair has not been an issue until now.
The current uniform policy specifies that boys’ hair length must be above the collar. Braxton’s hair is longer and his parents are defending his right to retain the length of his locks.
“We don’t necessarily agree with the rule,” Derrick Schafer, Braxton’s father said. “We think it’s culturally biased.”
“Can students wear dreadlocks? Yes, they can,” Bishop O’Gorman Catholic Schools president Kyle Groos told the Argus Leader. “We simply want the length of the hair to be at the collar or right above the collar. Right there is what we ask for. To be clean, neat and well-cared for.”
Braxton is among about 20 male students asked to comply with the hair policy, according to Chloe Goldade, public information officer for the Bishop O’Gorman Catholic Schools system.
“Obviously, some people may or may not agree with (the policy),” Groos said. “But as for us as a Catholic school, we have our expectations as parents when they enroll, understanding what our handbook and what it expresses on dress code. It’s not like it hasn’t been reviewed.”
Toni said this situation has been very stressful for her son.
“It’s incredibly stressful, and he feels kind of like an outsider anyways, because when you’re one of very few (Black students), and I think he might be the only one there with locs, he’s devastated, basically,” Toni said. “He wanted to stay because he likes his friends.”
“It was always cultural,” Derrick said. “We were concerned with the timing of them bringing this up, because the school year had already started. When this was being discussed with us, it seemed like there were a lot of other opportunities to have that discussion.”
Toni noted that the length of the locks is “actually the important piece to the whole style.”
“It’s not the actual loc itself; it’s the length, and the strength, spirituality and power, it’s all in the length,” Toni said.
Administrators have been unmoved by the cultural significance of locks, so the parents requested that Braxton be allowed to finish the fall semester with his hair as is, and then he will transfer to another school.
“The problem is, it’s being arbitrarily applied,” Derrick said. “He’s been in the system for three years with the same length hair. We’re confused on why it’s become an issue now. Why? They’ve had plenty of chances to discuss it with us.”
“They’ve made it so we don’t have options,” Toni added.
The Ashes Of ‘Star Trek’ Actress Nichelle Nichols Will Be Launched Into Space
The remains of iconic Star Trek actress Nichelle Nichols will be launched into space.
Last month, 89-year-old Nichelle Nichols, who played Nyota Uhura in the 1960s Star Trek series, passed away. But her soul will live on just as her legendary character did — in space.
PC Mag reports her ashes will join others on a U.S.S. Enterprise trip to space, where her ashes will be released into the galactic abyss. Her remains will first be taken onto the Vulcan Centaur rocket as part of a joint partnership with United Launch Alliance and Lockheed Martin.
Nichols’ ashes will join those of the Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry’s Majel Barrett-Roddenberry. “It’s a wonderful memorial for her, an eternal one,” Nichols’ son Kyle Johnson said during an interview with Reuters.
“Nichelle Nichols was a trailblazing actress, advocate, and dear friend to NASA,” NASA Administrator Bill Nelson said in a statement following the actress’s death, PC Mag reports.” Nichelle’s advocacy transcended television and transformed NASA. After Apollo 11, Nichelle made it her mission to inspire women and people of color to join this agency, change the face of STEM, and explore the cosmos.”
State Of Emergency In Jackson, Mississippi Due To Low Water Pressure After Heavy Rains
Jackson, Miss. — Mississippi's capital city is grappling with multiple water problems. Tens of thousands of Jackson residents were without running water Tuesday after flooding exacerbated longstanding problems in one of two water-treatment plants.
Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves said late Monday that he's declaring a state of emergency for Jackson's water system, and he issued the proclamation Tuesday. The state will try to help resolve problems by hiring contractors to work at the treatment plant, which was operating at diminished capacity with backup pumps after the main pumps failed "some time ago," Reeves said.
The White House announced late Tuesday night that President Biden had approved Reeves' request for a federal emergency declaration.
The declaration authorizes the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency to "coordinate all disaster relief efforts which have the purpose of alleviating the hardship and suffering caused by the emergency on the local population, and to provide appropriate assistance for required emergency measures," the White House said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Reeves also said the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency will start distributing both drinking water and non-potable water, and he activated the National Guard to help.
The city of 150,000 had already been under a boil-water notice for a month because the Health Department found cloudy water that could cause digestive problems.
During a Tuesday press conference, Jackson Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba said that the city is thrilled to be getting support from the state after battling "the Jackson water crisis" alone for the past two years. He said it had been a matter of when the system would fail — not if.
Lumumba expressed frustration that there was no previous long-term commitment from officials to replace or upgrade Jackson's water system. He estimated that it would take about $1 billion to fully improve the system.
Lumumba, a Democrat who wasn't invited to the Republican governor's news conference, said Monday that low water pressure could last a few days, but by Tuesday he said some customers were regaining service.
"We have seen steady improvements in the system," Lumumba said.
Meanwhile, the governor said Monday he understands people in Jackson are unhappy with the water system problems.
"I get it. I live in the city. It's not news that I want to hear," Reeves said. "But we are going to be there for you."
The low pressure raised concerns about firefighting and people's ability to take showers or flush toilets. However, Lumumba said Tuesday they have received no reports of firefighters having issues with water supplies.
A swollen Pearl River flooded streets and at least one home in Jackson on Monday, days after storms dumped heavy rain, but water levels were starting to recede. Lumumba said the water didn't rise as high as expected. Earlier projections showed about 100 to 150 buildings in the Jackson area faced the possibility of flooding.
The National Weather Service said the Pearl River had crested at about 35.4 feet, short of the major flood stage level of 36 feet.
Jackson has two water treatment plants and the larger one is near a reservoir that provides most of the city's water supply. The reservoir also has a role in flood control.
State Health Officer Dr. Daniel Edney said neighbors should boil their water for one minute before drinking it, the station notes.
Jackson public schools switched to remote learning Tuesday as a result of the water problems, WJTV reported.
Jackson has had longstanding problems with its water system. A cold snap in 2021 left a significant number of people without running water after pipes froze. Similar problems happened again early this year, on a smaller scale. The city has been under a boil-water notice since late July because tests found a cloudy quality to the water that could lead to health problems.
Legislative leaders reacted with alarm to Jackson's latest water system problems.
"We have grave concerns for citizens' health and safety," Republican Lt. Gov. Delbert Hosemann said in a statement Monday, suggesting the state take a role in trying to solve the issue.
The Republican House speaker, Philip Gunn, said he has been contacted by hospitals, businesses and schools "pleading that something be done to address the water crisis in Jackson."
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters Tuesday that the federal government is prepared to help Mississippi respond to the water crisis.
"We stand ready and we are eager to assist further as soon as we receive an official request from the state," she told reporters aboard Air Force One. She said the state has not asked FEMA for help with trucking in drinking water, and declined to say why.
"I cannot speak for the state of Mississippi. You would have to ask them," she said. Jean-Pierre said White House officials have been in contact with local officials and the state Health Department, but had no details about calls between President Joe Biden and local or state officials.
The Mississippi flooding was less severe than flooding that caused death and destruction in Kentucky last month. Those floods left at least 39 dead and robbed thousands of families of all their possessions. Nearly a month later, residents are wrestling with whether to rebuild at the place they call home or to start over somewhere else.
