Adele for Rolling Stone - December 2021!

Ahead of releasing her “most honest album yet,” Adele opened up to Rolling Stone for its December issue on all things divorce, dating, and fame.

Set to drop on Nov. 19, Adele’s fourth studio album 30 is the culmination of a long personal journey for the singer. “I didn’t really know myself. I thought I did,” she told Rolling Stone. “I don’t know if it was because my Saturn return or if it was because I was well and truly sort of heading into my thirties, but I just didn’t like who I was. I didn’t really know myself. I thought I did. But I just didn’t like who I was.”

Part of that journey involved separating from Simon Konecki, who is father to her 9-year-old son, Angelo. The couple announced their separation in April 2019, before their divorce was finalised in March 2021.

When asked about the divorce in Rolling Stone, Adele spoke of the sadness she felt and explained how being in the public eye made the whole process a lot more difficult. “So many people I don’t know know that I didn’t make that work … It f*cking devastated me” she said. “I was embarrassed. No one made me feel embarrassed, but you feel like you didn’t do a good job.”

Thankfully, it seems the singer is now in a good place personally. “I’m not frightened of loneliness anymore,” she told the magazine. Speaking about the new album, she said “It really did set little me free.” Adele has previously revealed that 30 is also intended to carry a message for Angelo, who also went through her divorce with her. “I wanted to explain to him, through this record, when he’s in his twenties or thirties, who I am and why I voluntarily chose to dismantle his entire life in the pursuit of my own happiness,” she told British Vogue in October. “It made him really unhappy sometimes. And that’s a real wound for me that I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to heal.”

Despite the hardship she felt with the divorce, however, Adele has found love again with American sports agent Rich Paul. She shared their first photo together in September, almost exactly two months after they sparked dating rumours by attending an NBA game together.

Adele explained to Rolling Stone that, at first, she found dating hard – especially because of her celebrity status. In the end, it was a blind date that brought her and Paul together.

“You can’t set me up on a f***ing blind date!” she told her friends at first, per Rolling Stone. “I’m like, ‘How’s that going to work?’ There’ll be paparazzi outside and someone will call DeuxMoi, or whatever it’s f***ing called! It ain’t happening.”

Luckily, it did work. And that might have to do with the amazing support system she’s found after finally making friends with people in the entertainment industry. Speaking about her new friends in LA such as Nicole Richie and Jennifer Lawrence, she told Rolling Stone, “They humanised me.” Before meeting them, she “avoided talking to anyone that was ever famous in any capacity.” In typical Adele manner, the singer simply didn’t think she was that famous to have famous friends. “I’m very British like that,” she said.

Legends Chaka Khan and Stephanie Mills to Face Off in ‘Verzuz’ Holiday Special!

It’s happening. Chaka Khan and Stephanie Mills will go hit-for-hit on the Verzuz stage.

Event organizers confirmed the battle on social media Saturday night, describing the showdown as a “holiday special” for “the queens.”

The announcement comes months after Mills allegedly proposed a battle against Chaka Khan back in spring, but was told there was simply no interest among the Verzuz team.

“We tried. George [Fuller]—who’s Chaka’s manager—and my manager [Amp Harris] reached out to them but they weren’t interested,” she said during an appearance on The Breakfast Club. “Chaka was interested. We were willing to do it. The Verzuz people weren’t interested. Yeah, they weren’t interested.”

Mills said she and her team pitched the idea right before the Xscape and SWV battle.

“But I wouldn’t do it now anyway,” she told host Charlamagne tha God.

Moments later, Harris approached the mic to reveal he and the Verzuz crew had something in the works, but wouldn’t provide details.

Mills, who was seemingly unaware of the discussions, reiterated her refusal to do Verzuz: “Oh now they wanna do it?” she said. “I don’t wanna do it.”

But thankfully for fans, Mills eventually came around to the idea

Britney Spears' mom Lynne shares cryptic message about 'freedom' in wake of the singer's conservatorship ending!

Singer Britney Spears arrives at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards at Madison Square Garden on

Britney Spears’ mother Lynne posted a cryptic message in the wake of the end of her daughter’s more than 13-year long conservatorship.

Spears’ father, Jamie Spears, had the chart-topping artist placed under a conservatorship in 2008 following her public mental health struggles. However, in a June 23 court testimony, the singer spoke out about the lack of control she has over her own personal and financial life, making it explicitly clear for the first time that she wanted the conservatorship — which she claimed was abusive and exploitative — to end.

That’s what happened on November 12, when a judge declared that Spears’ conservatorship was “no longer required.”

That day, Lynne took to her Instagram Story to share a cryptic quote, reading, “Where the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” While it’s unclear if Lynne’s message is about Spears, the word choice “freedom” raised eyebrows, as the movement to end Spears’ conservatorship has long been called “Free Britney.”

The “Oops! I Did It Again” singer, however, has spoken out against her mother in recent weeks. In a since-deleted Instagram post, the Crossroads actress wrote, “My dad may have started the conservatorship 13 years ago … but what people don’t know is that my mom is the one who gave him the idea.”

Spears added, “She secretly ruined my life … so take your whole ‘I have NO IDEA what’s going on’ attitude and go f–k yourself!!!!”

On the day of her conservatorship dissolvement, the pop star took to Instagram to express her gratitude for her fans, sharing video from a Free Britney rally outside of the court.

"Good God I love my fans so much it’s crazy," she captioned the post. "I think I’m gonna cry the rest of the day !!!! Best day ever … praise the Lord … can I get an Amen."

The 25-year-old was found at her home in Fentress County, Tenn. on Friday, Nov. 12, and was pronounced dead at the scene, the singer's rep said in a statement to E! News on Saturday, Nov. 13, adding that local authorities are still investigating her death. Police and the coroner's office had no immediate comment when reached by E! News.

Following Hannah's passing, her parents paid tribute to her on Instagram. Deanna wrote on her page, "My first born. I love you endlessly Hannah. Our family would like to thank you all for the outpouring of love as we grieve the loss of my daughter Hannah."

Deanna continued, "We are awaiting the autopsy results to determine how Hannah sustained the injuries that caused her death. Our hearts are broken."

The statement continued, "The Daughtry family thanks you for your understanding and respectfully asks for privacy during this very difficult time. Further details will be made available at a later date. The investigation into this tragic death is still on going."

Chris later shared on his own Instagram page a personal tribute of his own. "I am still processing the last 24 hours," he wrote, alongside a photo of Hannah. "I am absolutely devastated and heartbroken. I just recently lost my mother to cancer but I was blessed with the chance to say goodbye and I was processing it privately. We never got to say goodbye to our precious Hannah and it's another huge hit to our family."

He continued, "Thank you all for your kind words and condolences. They are truly felt and appreciated. I am now taking time be present with my family as we attempt to heal from this devastating loss. Hannah, I love you. I miss you. I wish I could hold you. This hurts so deeply."

Hannah and her brother Griffin, 23, are Deanna's children from a previous relationship. Chris, 41, and Deanna, 48, who married in 2000, are also parents to 10-year-old twins Adalynn Rose and Noah James. Hannah is also survived by her children, Liam, 7, and 20-month-old daughter Lily. In their statement, the family made no mention of the kids. Over the past few years, Deanna has shared on Instagram many pics of Liam at home with her and Chris' twins.

In March, Hannah wrote on her own feed, "I'm so blessed to have my mother, who has taught me so much & has been by my side through thick and thin. She has shown me what true love is and True love requires a lot of sacrifice...my mother is the reason for so many blessings in my life.. including my children having the best lives I could possibly give them. I am also grateful for the two beautiful souls, and very close family friends, who chose to take on my daughter as their own and who are taking the absolute best care of her."

Chris, who rose to fame as frontman of the rock band Daughtry after being a finalist on American Idol's fifth season in 2006, has halted his group's tour through Nov. 16.

"Due to the unexpected death of Chris and Deanna Daughtry's daughter, Hannah, all currently scheduled shows for the coming week for Daughtry have been cancelled or postponed," the couple said in a statement to E! News.

Scores of people, including music colleagues, expressed their condolences to the Daughtrys over their daughter's death.

"Love you brother," fellow American Idol alum and Broadway performer Constantine Maroulis commented on Chris' post. "All my deepest sympathies."

Daughtry bassist Josh Paul wrote, "Love you man."

On Deanna's tribute post to Hannah," singer Lee Ann Womack commented, "Beautiful Hannah and Deanna…I love you both."

SAY WHAT? Lil Nas X to appear on “Maury”!

Lil Nas X is headed to daytime television next week in a scheduled appearance on “Maury.” T he tabloid talk show released a wild, drama-filled teaser featuring the 22-year-old artist ahead of his upcoming episode.

Within the 40-second clip, Lil Nas X appears to confront his ex-boyfriend Yai Ariza about a secret he’s been keeping from him. Ariza, who played Lil Nas’s lover in the “That’s What I Want” music video is apparently married to a woman.

And if that isn’t shocking enough, Ariza’s wife, Ashley, is the mother of a four-year-old child named Noah, whom she says also belongs to Ariza. Maury, of course, will determine on the show whether Ariza is or is not the father of the child.

Ariza can also be seen asking Lil Nas X, whose real name is Montero Lamar Hill, to marry him. The “Old Town Road” rapper responds by running off the set.

The TV listing for the episode reads: “On today’s all-new exclusive Maury, Montero and Yai are football teammates who quickly became lovers. Montero was shocked to discover soon after that Yai was married with a child. Now, Montero is here to tell Yai’s wife, Ashley, about their secret love affair. Montero also needs to know if Yai is the father of Ashley’s child. Maury will get the answers they need. Will Montero get exactly what he wants?”

While it’s a bit unclear whether this is an actual Maury episode or if Lil Nas X is just trolling us all, a rep. from “Maury” did confirm to Today.com that Lil Nas X will appear on the show.

Whether or not the scenario is fictitious or real, Lil Nas X and Ariza’s relationship, however, is legitimate. In October, Lil Nas X revealed during an interview with SiriusXM’s Hits 1 LA that he was in a relationship with his music video co-star Ariza. The two ended their relationship on “very good terms,” Lil Nas said at the time and he hoped that they could figure out their differences “in the future.”

Tune in Wednesday (Nov. 17) to see Lil Nas X on “Maury.”

Newton was selected No. 1 overall in the 2011 NFL Draft by the Panthers and spent the first nine years of his NFL career with the franchise. He was released in 2019 after a years-long struggle with shoulder and foot injuries.

The 32-year-old QB went on to play the 2020 season with the New England Patriots. However, he remained unsigned this season after being released in August.

Wait! There’s more … Today (11-12-21), Newton took part in his first practice with Panthers since 2019 and will be heading to Arizona with the team for Sunday’s road game against the Cardinals.

Look for P.J. Walker to be the starting QB for the Panthers, but they aren’t going to eliminate the possibility that Newton will see the field for the first time in the 2021 season. Offensive coordinator Joe Brady left the door open for Newton to take some snaps in Week 10 when he spoke to reporters on Friday, according to NBC Sports.

Duke Ellington School of the Arts Postpones Dave Chappelle Fundraiser!

Outrage stemming from the Dave Chappelle Netflix comedy special continues to interfere with the comedian’s life. This time, an event honoring him has been pushed back.

The Duke Ellington School of the Arts, located in Washington D.C., was set to honor Chappelle on November 23rd during a fundraiser. The event was going to be raising money for a theater that was to be named after Chappelle. However, student uproar led the school to postpone the event until April 22nd. Many students said they were uncomfortable supporting the actor after his LGTBQ+ jokes during his “The Closer” special.

Though they’ve agreed to push the fundraiser back, the school, which is Chappelle’s alma mater, slammed cancel culture in a statement issued to students.

“We recognize that not everyone will accept or welcome a particular artist’s point of view, product or craft, but reject the notion that a ‘cancel culture is a healthy or constructive means to teach our students how society should balance creative freedom with protecting the right and dignity of all of its members,” it read.

The school hopes that Chappelle’s comments will be used as a “teachable moment” among students and create meaningful conversations.

Since the comedy special arrived on Netflix, Chappelle has faced mounting backlash. Staff members with the streaming platform protested while film festivals began “disinviting” him and refusing to show his documentary.

Coronji Calhoun, who played Halle Berry and Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ son in Monster’s Ball, has passed from congestive heart failure.

News of Coronji’s passing spread after his mother started a GoFundMe campaign to assist with his burial.

On a GoFundMe organized by the late actor’s mother she posted:

Hello community, family, and friends, I know this is a trying time for everyone, however I am inclined to ask for your help because my son is in need of his community’s support. Coronji Calhoun Sr. recently joined the ancestors in watching over me and our family on October 13, 2021. At the age of ten, he portrayed Tyrell, son of Lawrence (Sean “P. Diddy” Combs) and Leticia Musgrove (Halle Berry) in the 2001 Academy Award winning film, Monster’s Ball.  Unfortunately, we did not have any life insurance policy on him (as we never expected this tragedy to befall us) before he transitioned. Now we ask for generosity in your donations as we prepare to give Coronji a sacred celebration of life.

Thank you for your prayers, calls, texts, and selfless support!

Both Halle Berry and Monster’s Ball producer Lee Daniels have both contributed to the fundraiser.

In a statement of his own, David Coulter, the chair of the CMU Board of Trustees, said, "Glen loved Carnegie Mellon, and believed with every fiber of his being in the important work being done here.
