Tessa Thompson for InStyle US - Dec 2021/Jan 2022!

Actress Tessa Thompson graced the cover of InStyle for their Double Fashion Issue, and we have got to say, she looks absolutely stunning! The Passing actress shined front and center in a Christopher John Rogers gown paired with Jennifer Fisher hoops and Gianvito Rossi sandals.

Thompson, who has starred in a number of roles onscreen including Marvel’s superheroine Valkyrie and fearless civil rights leader Diane Nash in the academy award-nominated film Selma, confessed during her interview with the magazine that although she’s a famous superstar, off-camera she lives a pretty low-key life.

“I love what I do. I don’t like being the center of the discourse when it’s around my personal life or when things are in the press that I know are untrue,” she explained. “But it feels like relatively speaking it’s a small price to pay. I sometimes wish that people would remember that a performer they see in the media might be playing a character at any moment. This idea that they know you is faulty.”

Thompson’s undeniable talent and acting scope can currently be viewed in Netflix’s Passing where the California native plays a fair-skinned Black woman from the 1920s who straddles living between her life in Harlem and inconspicuously blending in with the White community on occasion. The actress said that she’s been happy to take on a variety of roles throughout her career.

“I feel really grateful as a Black woman that I get to play a lot of different parts and change the aperture a little bit around what we can be. But I also acknowledge and respect that there are so many Black women who look at me and don’t feel represented and don’t feel seen,” she added.

Elsewhere in the interview, the 38-year-old shared that she used a majority of her free time to get back in tune with herself during the pandemic. Thompson said her key to success has been getting hours of sleep and ditching her phone and computer for her simpler pleasures like reading at her favorite book store in LA where she grew up.

It’s the simplicity for us!

#RHOA: Should NeNe Leakes Return to Real Housewives of Atlanta? Kenya Moore Weighs In!

Kenya Moore is not only set to return for season 14 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, but she's also starring in Peacock's new Real Housewives spin-off, Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip.

Bravo fans watched the former Miss USA face off with Ramona Singer in the trailer for the highly-anticipated series, and now, Kenya is exclusively revealing what really went down between her and The Real Housewives of New York star.

"I've never spent any real time with Ramona, I've just heard about her," Kenya explained during E! News' Daily Pop on Monday, Nov. 8. "You know, her reputation precedes her. And I just think that I was calling her out a lot about her behavior before we even started the trip."

According to Kenya, this included "exposing the girls to COVID after we were, like, in the bubble."

"I was like, 'Oh, no. You're not going to put my health at risk,'" she added. "I think I just kind of called her out, and she didn't like that."

Regardless of, as Kenya put it, Ramona's "negative influence" on the group—including Cynthia Bailey, Luann de Lesseps, Melissa Gorga, Teresa Guidice and Kyle Richards—she found the rest of the Turks and Caicos trip to be "very interesting."

Kenya even formed a friendship with Ramona's RHONY co-star, Luann.

"I thought Luann would be like very, 'Oh, I'm a countess,' you know, and she wasn't that way," Kenya recalled. "So I was really pleasantly surprised and we got along great. We have a lot of things in common, and she's just one of my favorites."

Speaking of the unexpected, what did Kenya have to say about NeNe Leakes recently revealing she'd be open to returning to RHOA?

"You know, I don't know. I know she has a lot of fans and people love her, and definitely she has made her mark on the show and she made the show what it is," Kenya said on Daily Pop. "I think that interview was from her, you know, wanting to come back."

The interview was featured on The Real, where NeNe explained that if she did come back, it wouldn't be without stipulations—some involving boss Andy Cohen.

Added Kenya, "Whether there's a future for her there in terms of with the network or, you know, the higher-ups, I can't really speak to that."

She can speak on RHOA being nominated for The Reality Show of 2021 at the 2021 People's Choice Awards, though!

"It feels good to be recognized for living your life out loud, being authentic and, you know, just balls to the wall basically," Kenya said of the nomination. "We're really excited. It's the people that are saying that they love our franchise, so that feels better than anything else in the world that we have a universal show that people identify with no matter if you're white, Black, male, female, gay, straight. People love The Real Housewives of Atlanta because we have a different flavor than anyone else."

Now, a security guard who worked the disastrous event is coming out with grievances of his own. The man, Jackson Bush, says the guards were promised a pay rate of $17 an hour to work the festival–set to be paid through Apply Pay rather than a physical check. However, Jackson Bush says no payments have come through yet.

He also dished on the poor planning that went into the event, saying:

Additionally, Jackson Bush went on to reveal that no background checks were conducted, meaning the guards ranged in experience and training with the job.

Jay-Z Doesn’t Have To Pay Up In Perfume Company’s $68M Breach Of Contract Suit!

A Manhattan jury Wednesday decided that Jay-Z shouldn’t have to pay up in a $68 million lawsuit accusing him of failing to uphold his end of a deal to promote his eponymous fragrance.

The jury found that damages shouldn’t be paid on either side of the dispute between the 51-year-old “Empire State of Mind” rapper and perfume company Parlux over allegations that Jay-Z breached a 2012 contract in failing to promote cologne Gold Jay Z.

Jay-Z — dressed in a black suit, black tie and sun glasses — took off his mask and left the courtroom while smiling and raising his hands happily.

Parlux had been seeking $68 million in damages while Jay-Z brought counterclaims for over $2.7 million in royalties. But the jury found that neither side should have to pay the other.

Justice Andrew Borrok told lawyers on both sides, “You failed to prove your case, they failed to prove their case. That’s the outcome.”

The jurors — four men and two women — delivered the verdict after just over two hours of deliberations at the third week of trial in Manhattan Supreme Court where the “Dirt Off Your Shoulder” rhymer testified for two days.

“I’d like to express my gratitude to the jury, especially during these difficult times,” Jay-Z told The Post through a rep after.

The decision comes after Jay-Z lost his bid Monday to start an online sports betting company with Fanatics and Barstool Sports after allegations surfaced against Barstool founder David Portnoy of unwanted and violent sex. The state gaming commission said the rejection of Jay-Z’s bid was unrelated to the accusations against Portnoy.

During closing arguments Tuesday, Parlux lawyer Anthony Viola told jurors that, “Parlux ended up with a celebrity fragrance line where the celebrity disappeared.”

Parlux sued in 2016 claiming that Jay-Z — whose real name is Shawn Carter — and his company S. Carter Enterprises LLC broke their agreement when he failed to show up for the 2014 Gold Jay Z launch at Macy’s and failed to make promotional spots on “Good Morning America” and in Women’s Wear Daily.

Carter countersued, claiming he is still owed $2.7 million by Parlux in the deal.

“Parlux invested $29 million into that venture. It upheld its end of the bargain,” Viola argued. “The defendants didn’t uphold their end of the bargain.”

“If the defendants had fulfilled the contract, if they have upheld their end of the bargain, Parlux would have had a runaway success,” Viola said. “We would have netter $67.6 million in net profits.”

Jay-Z’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, told jurors during his closing arguments that his client didn’t want the cologne to fail noting that he had a year to make promotional appearances and that showing up to the launch wasn’t required under the agreement.

“Why on Earth would Jay-z put his name on one product and only one product in his entire career if he wanted that product to fail? Why? And that’s a question they will never be able to answer because there is no answer.”

Spiro told jurors that while Jay-Z may not have remembered everything during his testimony “but he was truthful and raw and he passed the truthfulness test.”

Spiro said his client had his guard up because “He didn’t like getting sued, he didn’t like what they did to his products…, he didn’t like what he felt was a shakedown, he didn’t like being called a defendant, he didn’t like being put in that box, he didn’t like the way he was being spoken to and he didn’t like what he felt were tricks.”

The Brooklyn-born “99 Problems” rapper — who married music superstar Beyoncé in 2008 — repeatedly exchanged barbs with Viola during questioning when Jay-Z admitted that he hadn’t read the contract that he signed with Parlux.

“Hey man, I’m not a lawyer,” the hip hop star said to Viola when asked about the contract that he personally signed twice.

“At the time you signed this contract, you did not know that you personally would have obligations separate and distinct of your company?” Viola asked.

“I’m not a lawyer,” Jay-Z repeated. “All I can say is I have creative control over what I do with myself and my body. No, I did not read the contract.”

When questioned by his own lawyer Jay-Z disputed the notion by Viola that he “constantly threw sand in the gears” when it came to the success of the cologne.

“If I hurt Parlux and I hurt Gold Jay Z — they are in my name.”

“I’m not going to cut off my nose to spite my face,” Jay-Z said.

“It was a tough relationship but I was still trying to create something amazing.”

Terrence J escapes attempted robbery outside his Los Angeles home!

Terrence J is lucky to be alive after he was the victim of an attempted home burglary early Wednesday morning (Nov. 10).

According to Fox 11, the former “106 & Park” host, whose real name is Terrence Jenkins, and a passenger were returning to his home in Sherman Oaks from Hollywood. Suddenly, the pair found themselves blocked in by an SUV that was filled with masked men. One of the burglars ordered Jenkins to get out of the car at gunpoint, however, he managed to drive off. The suspects followed him and began shooting at the Think Like A Man actor’s vehicle.

Luckily, Jenkins was able to flag down a nearby California Highway Patrol car for help. Los Angeles Police Department officers feared that more suspects could be inside of his home. They searched the premises, but no burglars were found in the house. Authorities did find a woman who was locked inside her bedroom, dreading that she would be the victim of a home invasion. She was also uninjured.

Jenkins described the robbers as four Black men who were dressed in all black. He also said that they were driving a silver Jeep Cherokee.

Earlier this week, the LAPD warned people about “follow-home robberies,” in which victims are being targeted as they leave fancy restaurants and nightclubs. The suspects then follow them home and attempt to rob the victim for their jewelry and designer handbags.

“People need to be aware of the surroundings, especially leaving nightclubs, restaurants and what have you,” said LAPD Sgt. Hector Olivera.

“It seems that the suspects are targeting individuals that either have expensive jewelry, expensive cars, and things of that nature,” he added.

The LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide Division has taken over the case and is now examining surveillance video in the area. Jenkins has not commented about the incident publicly.

Snoop Dogg talks Death Row Records: ‘I should be running that s–t’!

We are past apologies for booking historically vulgar stars

Super Bowl 2022’s hip-hop halftime: Kendrick, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, Snoop, Dr. Dre

NJ’s Nicole Byer has a Netflix hour special in the mix

Snoop Dogg implies he smoked weed with Obama in new song

The “CEO” rapper has an eye for Death Row Records’ corner office.

Snoop Dogg sat down with the hosts of Barstool Sports’ Million Dollaz Worth Of Game to discuss the hip hop legend’s current and future ventures — in particular, with the record label that launched his career back in 1992.

In June, Death Row Records made Snoop their new Executive Creative and Strategic Consultant, a role that gives the 17-time Grammy nominee a chance to discover and shepherd promising new acts through the label, as reported by Complex this week.

“I think all of Death Row should be in my hands,” Snoop told mic jockeys Gillie Da Kid and Wallo. “I should be running that s–t. Just like I’m [in] a position at Def Jam, Death Row means more to me because I helped create that.”

Had “The Voice” judge been in control of the label, artists such as YG, Ty Dolla $ign, Roddy Ricch and “anything coming out the West,” Snoop claimed, would be on their roster.

Snoop got his start as a featured artist on 1992’s “The Chronic” alongside Death Row co-founder Dr. Dre in the early ’90s, and released some of the West Coast rapper’s most notable and beloved hits to this day, including “Gin and Juice” and “Lodi Dodi.”

Following the murder of fellow label-mate Tupac Shakur in 1996 and the subsequent jailing of Death Row co-founder Suge Knight, Snoop would part ways with the group in 1998 and sign with Master P’s No Limit Records.

The iconic MC then eluded to movement up top, referring to Death Row’s current ownership, private equity firm Blackstone, which acquired the label’s parent company Entertainment One in April.

“It’s just a lot of heat over there and it’s not being handled right,” he said. “But a little birdie told me it may fly my way and if it do, you’ll get everything that I told you … If I can get Def Jam poppin’, what could I do with Death Row? Just imagine that.”

Michael Rapaport Slammed as Guest Host of ‘Wendy Williams Show’!

*Fans of “The Wendy Williams Show” are not impressed with Michael Rapaport’s guest-hosting duties.

The actor is filling in this week for Wendy Williams amid her hiatus for health-related issues. “I’m so glad to be here, I am so excited to be here,” Rapaport told the audience on Monday. “Wendy, thank you so much for trusting me with your show.”

Viewers quickly took to social media to express their displeasure with him.

One Twitter user wrote, “Giving michael rapaport a platform is gross enough, but to let him stand on a Black woman’s stage (Wendy Williams) and disrespect another Black woman (Candiace) is an anger inducing level of disrespect. Especially given his history of racism/microaggression against Black women.”

Another commented, “Michael Rapaport hosting Wendy Williams show is perfect, because he’s a messy bitch too.”

A third added, “please stop inviting Michael Rapaport to do sh*t. he should be in hell, where he belongs. invite him to THAT.“

The new season premiered on Oct. 18 with guest hosts Devyn Simone, Bevy Smith, Elizabeth Wagmeister, and Michael Yo. Leah Remini also hosted for four days.

Sherri Shepherd was tapped to guest host the daytime program from Nov. 1 – Nov. 5.

Wendy Williams is not expected to return to her beloved daytime talk show anytime soon – and insiders claim she’ll be out for the entire month of November.

Rapaport will fill in for the week of Nov. 8, and a new panel will take over for just Nov. 15. Comedian Bill Bellamy will host for two days followed by famed talk show host Jerry Springer will guest co-host with Steve Wilkos, Page Six reports.

According to show producers, guest hosts will continue to fill in while Williams takes time off to focus on her health.

Williams broke her silence and issued a statement on November 8, but remained coy about her health status.

“HOW YOU DOIN’? I MISS YOU ALL!,” she began her statement via Instagram. “As everyone knows, my health has been a hot topic. I’m making progress but it’s just one of those things that’s taking longer than we expected.”

Williams then praised her guest hosts, saying, “I want to thank all of my staff and our guest hosts for stepping up and stepping in while I can’t be there.

Speaking directly to her fans, Williams added, “I have heard your prayers and comments and feel all the love! You are everything to me. I’m doing everything I can to get back to work,” she continued, adding that however, right now, “Wendy has to focus on Wendy.”

Nicki Minaj’s Husband Kenneth Petty Claims Rape Accuser Was a ‘Willing Participant’!

According to court documents reviewed by Complex, the 43-year-old Queens native admitted to having sex with Jennifer Hough in 1994, but insists their encounter was completely consensual.

“I never raped the Plaintiff and I deny her accusations of rape contained in the Amended Complaint,” he said, per the court filing. “I also deny all of Plaintiff’s allegations in the Amended Complaint that I committed any improper conduct, sexual abuse and/or sexual assault. The sexual encounter between Plaintiff and I, which occurred 27 years ago, was consensual and Plaintiff was a willing participant. I did not force Plaintiff into a house, I did not force Plaintiff to have sex with me and I did not sexually or physically assault Plaintiff in any way. Nor did I ever threaten Plaintiff.”

Petty spent four years behind bars after pleading guilty to attempted rape charges stemming from Hough’s allegations; however, he told the court he took the plea out of fear.

“I pled guilty to attempted rape, despite my innocence, because I was a scared 16 year old kid and was told that my sentence would be 20 years to life if I did not plead guilty to attempted rape,” he continued.

Hough filed a civil lawsuit against Petty and Minaj earlier this year, claiming she was harassed and threatened by the couple’s associates after refusing to recant her rape allegations. Hough said she and her family were offered tens of thousands of dollars to publicly walk back the claims, but after they rejected the offer, they were subjected to direct and indirect threats from the couple’s camp.

During an interview on The Real, Hough recalled an alleged phone conversation she had with Nicki in March 2020.

“She called me and she said that she got word that I was willing to help them out in the situation. I didn’t understand what she was referring to. She offered to fly me and my family to L.A. I turned it down and I told her, woman to woman, ‘This happened.’ I haven’t talked to her since.”

Hough’s attorney, Tyrone A. Blackburn, addressed Petty’s latest claims in a statement to XXL magazine.

“A willing participant would not run 20 blocks to school after a sexual encounter and tell the school security/police that she was raped,” Blackburn told the outlet. “If Petty believed Ms. Hough was a willing participant he should have never plead guilty to attempted rape.”

Minnesota High School Responds After Video Surfaces of Student Using Racial Slurs and Harrassing Black Student!

A Minnesota high school has launched an investigation after what they call a “serious and disturbing racist video” featuring a student surfaced online.

Social media users identified the girl in the video as Jaelyn Crooks of Prior Lake High School. In the video, which has been shared across social media, the girl can be heard repeatedly using the N-word and harassing a black student who allegedly is suicidal.

“You dark ass n**ger,” the student says in the video. “You dark ass chocolate bar. Get the f*ck out of here. No one likes n**gers. No one likes them. F*cking kill yourself right this time. Do it f*cking right. Cut deep enough this time, or f*cking tie the rope higher. Like, what the f*ck.”

School officials were alerted about the disturbing video and in a letter to parents, the school’s principal John Bezek expressed that the school does not tolerate this sort of behavior.

“I’m writing to inform you that a serious and disturbing racist video was posted on social media by one of our students,” Bizek said. “This morning we received several reports regarding the video, which goes against everything for which our school stands. To be clear, our school does not tolerate racism or hate speech.”

“Racist messages like the ones in the video create an environment that is hostile to learning. I want to assure students and staff that we are committed to their safety and emotional well-being,” Bizek continued.

The local police department is investigating this matter.

“The Savage Police Department is aware of the posted video and is working with administration at Prior Lake High School to investigate the matter,”  Savage Det. Sgt. Mike Schiltz said Tuesday
