The legendary supermodel, who recently released a memoir titled “Becoming Cindy Crawford, told Rhapsody magazine she’s enjoyed her role as a professional poser and now she’s ready to move on.
Crawford declared, "I feel like I'm allowing that to have been great, and I'm celebrating it. And I’m sure I'll have my picture taken for 10 more years, but not as a model anymore.

The actor paid a visit to Berston Field House in the Creative Expression Dance Studio where he spoke with folks one-on-one to hear their stories on how they’ve suffered from not having clean drinking water.
The residents seemd super happy to get some star power shining in their town and shining on their situation. After making his rounds, Jussie hopped on Instagram to show love to the people of Flint promising them he would be returning. He said, "On the [plane] back to Chicago but my heart is still in #Flint. In honor of Black History Month, R&B veteran JOE has released a new video for a song he has titled “Our Anthem.”
A soulful and reflective track, with socially conscious visuals, the multi-Grammy nominated artist starts out singing The Star Spangled Banner and later borrows from Otis Redding’s classic, “Try A Little Tenderness.” Taking a stand to help improve our relations with one another, Joe simply asks, “Is this red white and blue, or black brown and white? / Ask yourself, is it wrong, or is it right?”

IOWA CAUCUS: Cruz tops Trump, while Clinton and Sanders are in virtual TIE!
DES MOINES (wp) — Sen. Ted Cruz scored a hard-fought upset win over businessman Donald Trump in the Iowa Republican caucuses Monday night, while former secretary of state Hillary Clinton and Sen. Bernie Sanders were locked in a virtual dead heat on the Democratic side with most of the votes counted.
The Texas senator made good on his bet that a methodical campaign organization would eclipse the New Yorker’s media dominance in the first test of GOP voters. With 99 percent of the precincts reporting, Cruz was besting Trump by more than 5,100 votes, with fellow senator Marco Rubio of Florida a close third.
Cruz appeared to capitalize on deep support from religious and social conservatives and showed that old-fashioned retail politicking could overcome Trump’s massive political rallies in the Hawkeye state.
“God bless the great state of Iowa,” he said. “Tonight is a victory for the grass roots. Tonight is a victory for courageous conservatives across Iowa and all across this great nation. Iowa has sent notice that the Republican nominee and the next president of the United States will not be chosen by the media; will not be chosen by the Washington establishment; will not be chosen by the lobbyists.”
Clinton had been a clear front-runner in Iowa last summer, as she hoped to atone for her loss to Barack Obama in the 2008 Democratic caucuses in the state. But Sanders (I-Vt.), hammering a message about economic inequities for the middle class, narrowed the margin in Iowa into a dead heat in the final days, and the results could presage a long, grueling fight to the nomination. He maintains a polling advantage in New Hampshire, which will hold its primaries next week.
Clinton, joined by her husband, former president Bill Clinton, and daughter Chelsea, addressed before supporters even before the final tally was in, saying she was “breathing a sigh of relief.”
“It is rare that we have the opportunity we have now to have a real contest of ideas, to really think hard about what the Democratic Party stands for,” Clinton said. “I am excited about really getting into the debate with Senator Sanders about the best way forward to fight for us and America.”
Sanders, accompanied by his wife, Jane, appeared in front of a jubilant crowd that chanted “Feel the Bern!” He declared that his showing against Clinton sent a message to the political and media establishment that “given the enormous crises facing our country, it is just too late for establishment politics and establishment economics.”
The night also began to winnow the field on both sides. Former Maryland governor Martin O’Malley, the only other major Democratic candidate, had negligible support and suspended his campaign Monday night, according to a person close to his campaign. Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee also suspended his GOP campaign.
The crowded Republican field and lively debates appeared to boost interest in the race. In all, a record 185,000 people took part in the GOP caucuses, smashing the 2012 turnout by 5.4 percent, according to estimates from Edison Media Research.
Trump had led the Republican polls since last summer, shortly after he declared his candidacy, and he had seemed to rewrite the traditional rules and expectations of national political campaigns. Yet his outsider appeal, which swelled crowds at rallies, failed to translate entirely to the caucus turnout, and some political analysts questioned his decision to drop out of the final GOP debate last week.
Appearing before supporters at his Iowa headquarters, Trump congratulated Cruz, but he reminded his audience of how far he had come.
“On June 16, when I started this journey, there were 17 candidates. I was told by everybody, ‘Do not go to Iowa. You could never finish even in the top 10,’” Trump said. “We finished second. . . . We will go on to get the Republican nomination, and we will go on to beat Hillary or Bernie or whoever they throw up there.”
Cruz, who had surged to a polling lead in Iowa by December but fell behind again to Trump in the final days, outperformed his final polling results in Iowa. Aides touted a strong ground game in which the senator appeared at events in all 99 counties. Cruz had 28 percent of the vote, with Trump at 24 percent and Rubio at 23.
Supporters at Cruz headquarters cheered loudly when their candidate was shown on a giant video screen. A cover band played songs of Patsy Cline and Johnny Cash, as the audience exchanged hi-fives and hoisted drinks.
“That’s priceless. You’re fired!” said Cruz precinct captain Ted Sturgill, using Trump’s catch-phrase from “The Apprentice” television show against him.
Whether Cruz can translate the win into similar success in New Hampshire is uncertain, as the past two Iowa winners, Pennsylvania’s Rick Santorum in 2012 and Huckabee in 2008, each failed to win the nomination.
Rubio did far better than expected, with a late rally of support as he sought to consolidate support among establishment Republicans who have doubted Trump and Cruz. Former Florida governor Jeb Bush, who started the campaign as a prohibitive front-runner and a massive campaign warchest, finished way back in the pack. Bush wasn’t even in the state on Monday, campaigning instead in New Hampshire, whose primaries will be held next week.
“They told me I needed to wait my turn, that I needed to wait in line,” Rubio told an enthusiastic crowd at his Iowa headquarters.
“This is your turn!” a supporter responded.
“Tonight here in Iowa, the people in this great state sent a very clear message that after seven years of Barack Obama, we are not waiting any longer to take our country back,” Rubio said.
Voters gathered at caucus sites in 99 counties around the state. The last-minute lobbying officially began at 7 p.m. Central time, with votes following. Political operatives predicted a high turnout--and there were reports that some sites were so packed that officials had trouble closing the doors--despite a significant snowstorm that was bearing down on the state. Forecasters said the storm would likely hit after the caucuses were closed.
“I pray we will win,” Cruz said during a stop at a Baptist Church in Marion, Iowa.
Trump and Sanders made their final pushes Monday to coax non-traditional voters to the caucuses here, even as their chief rivals suggested well-tested organizing tactics would give them the crucial margin of victory instead.
Television networks showed Trump, in a solid red tie, visiting a caucus site in West Des Moines with wife, Melania, in a matching all-red ensemble, and taking a seat in the front row. One woman approached and posed with him for a selfie photo on her mobile phone.
“We are going to bring our country back,” Trump told the caucus crowd, speaking into a microphone. Reflecting on a campaign that was dismissed early on by the political establishment in Washington, Trump said: “It’s really been a journey, an amazing journey. I’m a messenger. We’re going to run it the way it’s supposed to be run--as a great, great country.”
Other candidates also visited live caucus locations, including Republican business woman Carly Fiorina, who was at the same event as Trump. Cruz and Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) both visited the large Linn County caucus in Cedar Rapids. Rubio was scheduled to visit three caucus sites, according to his staff.
Cruz and his team spent the day rallying their supporters to get out to the caucus sites. Cruz appeared at a community center in Jefferson, Iowa, to complete a tour of all of the state’s 99 counties, a strategy his aides believe will pay off.
“This race is a statistical tie between me and Donald Trump,” Cruz said. “It all comes down to turnout, who shows up at 7 p.m.”
Cruz’s Iowa director, Bryan English, said many of the senator’s 12,000 volunteers here are calling their friends and neighbors who may be on the fence for Cruz, hoping the personal touch persuades them to caucus for him Monday night.
There was little question that the lack of an incumbent candidate, coupled with the unconventional style of several candidates, has sparked Iowans’ interest in the race this year. Jeff Kaufmann, who chairs the Iowa Republican Party, said his office has been receiving five to six times as many calls compared to past years.
“The phone calls at the Republican Party of Iowa headquarters are absolutely unprecedented. I mean, we’re looking at 100 an hour, literally,” he said. “Now, obviously, not all of that is tied to Donald Trump. There’s also a lot of these calls that are going to a variety of candidates. But I think that’s a sign of the enthusiasm.”
Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad (R) echoed that assessment in an interview, saying Trump has “turned out bigger crowds than we’ve ever seen before.”
“I know everybody is saying, ‘Are they just coming for curiosity?’ But I think they’re for real; they’re committed and will show up for caucuses. I do,” Branstad said. “I’ve been pretty impressed with what they’ve done.
“Of course we saw this phenomenon eight years ago with Obama,” he said, referring to President Obama’s first White House bid. “It was beyond what anyone could have imagined, and I think Trump is a phenomenon, too.”
The Democratic field was much smaller but no less competitive. Clinton, whose comfortable lead in Iowa evaporated earlier this year, has scrambled to try to fend off Sanders, who has attracted massive crowds and an intense grass-roots following that has put an Iowa upset within reach.
Sanders was encircled by volunteers and a crush of reporters as he arrived late Monday morning at his Iowa headquarters in a strip shopping center outside downtown Des Moines.
“We have come a long, long way in the last nine months,” the Vermont senator told his supporters. “You’ve got a tied ball game, that’s where we are.”
Sanders also pushed back against critics who’ve suggested his agenda is too radical. “Our platform, our agenda, is precisely what the American people want,” he said.
R.I.P Michael Feeney, 'Tenacious Journalist,' Dies at 32
Michael J. Feeney, a former reporter for The New York Daily News and former president of the New York Association of Black Journalists, died Sunday. He was 32.
Feeney's mother, Reba Willis, told The Daily News that her son died of complications from a staph infection of the kidneys. She said he'd been in Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck, New Jersey, since Tuesday.
Feeney was past president of the New York Association of Black Journalists and the recipient of the national organization's Emerging Journalist of the Year Award in 2010.
"He was a tenacious journalist who possessed a passion and energy for telling stories reflective of diverse communities — stories which otherwise might not have been told," NABJ President Sarah Glover said on the group's website.
"He was an immensely talented young black man for whom — like far too many of our young black men — death came way too early," said NABJ founder DeWayne Wickham, who taught Feeney journalism at Delaware State University. Feeney graduated from the university in 2005.
The Teaneck native joined The Daily News in 2009 where he covered crime and later neighborhoods in upper Manhattan, including Harlem. He worked as an entertainment and culture reporter for The Record in New Jersey, and as a reporter for The Associated Press in Detroit and an AP intern in Baltimore. He also was a freelancer writer.
His mother said he was about to begin a job as an entertainment reporter at CNN.com when he became ill.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a sister, Maria Feeney, and a twin brother, Anthony Feeney.

Drake Drops New Single ‘Summer Sixteen’ + Announces Release Date For ‘Views From The 6’
Over the weekend, Drake unleashed a new single, “Summer Sixteen,” from his upcoming album, Views From the 6. The track made its debut on Drizzy’s Beats 1 show, OVO Sound Radio, and finds him taking shots at a few people – including Meek Mill.
In the first verse, it’s said that he’s addressing Meek about a night he happened to stay at the same Four Seasons hotel as him and Nicki Minaj, and decided to let his dis track roll. He raps:
I let the diss record drop, you was staying right below me, n**ga. We must have played it a hundred times, you was going to bed. Why would I put on a vest I expect you to aim for the head? I coulda killed you the first time. You don’t have to try to say it louder n**ga. Trust, we heard you the first time. It’s nothing personal I would have done it to anyone.
He also mentions Jay Z and Kanye West: “I used to wanna be on Roc-A-Fella then I turned into Jay,” he raps. “Now I got a house in LA, now I got a bigger pool than Ye. And look man, Ye’s pool is nice, mine’s just big is what I’m saying.”
Fans were also able to get a release date for “Views.” In addition to dropping the track, Drake announced that the album will see its release in April.

Jay Z’s Roc Nation Suing Rita Ora For $2.4 million
Jay Z’s music label, Roc Nation, is suing Rita Ora for breaking her recording contract and failing to deliver promised albums — according to Page Six.
The $2.4 million civil suit was filed in Manhattan by Roc Nation. Just last month, Ora sued the label in California, claiming record execs pushed her aside when they started representing professional athletes.
Page Six Reports, In the new suit, Roc Nation counters that it’s spent over $2 million developing and marketing the British pop singer’s still-unreleased second album. The label says the ?British ??”?X Factor?”? judge was supposed to deliver a total of five albums when she signed with Roc Nation in 2008, but has only put out one. Roc Nation says it scooped up Ora, 25, when she was an “unknown singer” and “has tirelessly promoted [her] career, investing millions of dollars in marketing, recording and other costs, which was instrumental in guiding Ms. Ora to her current level of success and fame.”
The Los Angeles suit is still pending. Roc Nation says it filed the countersuit in Manhattan because Ora’s contact specifies that any litigation between the parties must take place in New York. Ora’s attorney, Howard King, said, “Jay Z has personally and graciously promised Rita complete freedom from Roc Nation, the details of which are now being finalized. “We believe that Roc Nation’s distributor, Sony Music, has required Roc Nation to file this action to preserve whatever rights Sony might have pending resolution,” King said.

Race Matters: Howard Grad Briggitta Hardin Wins Racial Discrimination Case Against Redline Bar DC Bar For $687K In Racial Discrimination Case
A Howard grad by the name of Briggitta Hardin has won a racial discrimination case following a job interview at a sports bar where she claims she was fired for her skin color. According to The Washington Post the DC Bar has been accused of discrimination in the past:
Hardin, who is African American, said that when Dadlani met her, he refused to shake her hand or speak with her and that she was fired within an hour.
According to court records from a seven-day trial this month before U.S. District Judge Reggie B. Walton of the District, eight current or former employees, including four managers at the time of the bar’s launch, were called by both sides to testify about their experiences working at the bar and with Dadlani.
Testimony by several white ex-employees noted the absence at the time of black bartenders and Dadlani’s racially charged hiring preferences, according to Hardin’s lead attorney, Megan Cacace, of the Relman, Dane & Colfax law firm in Washington.
“Witnesses testified at trial that he wanted to hire white blonde chicks or girls” as bartenders, Cacace said.
Cacace said that African Americans have been hired as bartenders at the bar since the lawsuit was filed in November 2011.
The website for Redline describes the venue as a luxury or upscale “gastrolounge and bar” featuring at-table beer taps in an 86-seat restaurant and a 130-seat sports pub next to Verizon Center.

Adele Addresses Use of Her Music by Donald Trump’s Campaign
*Sarah Palin took the stage at a Donald Trump rally in Oklahoma to Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep,” which was bad enough for her fans. But when the Donald, himself, began using Adele’s “Skyfall” at rallies, her faithful took to Twitter.
The Republican presidential candidate, an Adele fan who attended her New York concert last year, has reportedly been playing the James Bond “Skyfall” theme, which has the line (“when it crumbles, we will stand tall, face it all together”).
Fans tweeted their outrage, urging the British singer to ban Palin and Trump from using her music.
Her response?
“Adele has not given permission for her music to be used for any political campaigning,” Adele’s spokesperson told the Independent.
Adele is not the only artist to ask Trump’s campaign not to use their music. After Trump blasted “Dream On” at one of his rallies, Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler’s lawyers sent the mogul cease-and-desist letters saying he did “not have our client’s permission” to use the song.
REM lead singer Michael Stipe also released a statement after one of his band’s songs was used at a Trump rally without their permission. The statement included: “Go f**k yourselves, the lot of you — you sad, attention-grabbing, power-hungry little men. Do not use our music or my voice for your moronic charade of a campaign.”
The Misunderstanding of Cam Newton!
Cam Newton, Brian Urlacher & The Double Standards Of Race
Around the 2-minute mark in the above video, Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton responds to a question of why he’s become such a point of contention among reporters and sports fans. Unabashed and fearless, Newton said what white America and football fans probably didn’t expect to hear.
“I’ve said this since day one. I’m an African-American quarterback that may scare a lot of people because they haven’t seen nothing that they can compare me to,” fired back Newton. And with that statement, the looming specter of race landed squarely over Super Bowl 50.
Newton has endured a season-long string of criticism for his brash celebrations, the dabbbin’ dance (that got a white mother all in her feelings), his high-octane style of play, and handling it all with ease with a flash of his million-megawatt smile. Online racists cowering behind the glare of the computer screens gleefully dropped slurs and offensive names to describe Newton, knowing that they don’t possess the courage to step from behind the anonymity the Internet affords them.
“Johnny Manziel will never know what it’s like to be disliked because he’s Black and having a good time on the field.”
While folks online went just a step short of dropping the “N-Word” bomb and began referring to Newton as a “thug,” the race narrative had shifted into an ugly fifth gear by this point. Yet, it seems like people on all sides are taking certain liberties to swipe at Newton, calling him “corny” or “exaggerated” but never able to truly articulate why it is they don’t like him.
So how does this all tie in with race? It’s simple.
Football is the top sport in the United States and enjoys one of the most rabid fan bases outside of global soccer fans. This year’s Super Bowl is a face-off of the old and the new: the Denver Broncos, led by talented white veteran QB Peyton Manning vs his younger, Black rival in Newton. Manning, entering his twilight as an elite football player, has been a media darling and pitch man for varying products for years.
It has been well-documented that Newton is everything Manning is not, and that includes the product on the field as well. Newton is handsome, outspoken, jovial, uncontained. Along with being fleet of foot, he can sling the ball well and isn’t gifted with a corp of receivers that fans would consider top-level which also speaks to his talents.
The divide in what’s expected in the quarterback position and the historical racial context of those team leaders who have made it to the NFL championship stage is something that also can’t be ignored. Newton is just the sixth Black QB in 50 years of the big game to make it to this level. This might be signaling a shift that the Black quarterback who wins isn’t just a mere novelty, but actually a viable reality.
Newton hasn’t quite achieved the star power reach that Manning has, and it doesn’t appear companies are banging down his door yet either. With a 17-1 record, which includes playoffs, one would imagine that is merit enough for advertisers to start signing checks and put Newton in front of a camera. Coupled with the fact he’s ignited a post-touchdown dance craze that’s crossed over and hands out footballs to children at the games, what’s there to dislike?
Simple answer: He’s Black. It’s the gigantic pink elephant in the room everyone tries to look past.
If the beloved but troubled Johnny Manziel made it to the Super Bowl by some miracle, could you imagine the frenzy of reporters and news outlets fawning over that kid? On paper, he has a similar skill set to Newton but with twice the legal problems.
Manziel will never know what it’s like to be disliked simply because he’s Black and having a good time on the field. Instead, Manziel gets the benefit of white media outlets writing stories about how they feel sorry for him and his inability to get his stuff together.
Newton has kept free of scandal as a professional, is a self-professed Christian, and got his degree in sociology in 2015. Yes, there’s the infamous stolen laptop story but it isn’t like Newton avoids questions about it. In fact, he owned up to his stupidity as a young man and has been working on himself since. Yet, Newton can’t even blow his nose without people saying “There he goes again being annoying and extra!”
Retired Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher joined the chorus of naysayers, saying to USA Today that he isn’t a fan of the “dancing and stuff” and prefers Manning’s low key touchdown celebrations. To be fair, Urlacher was a great defensive star and went about his business in a similar workmanlike fashion but he’s definitely celebrated loudly after a big hit a few times.
Of course, Urlacher isn’t going to waste any time on facts and that the game is built on passion and energy. Instead, he’ll pretend like the rest of the world that Newton’s celebrations are extreme but would he have said the same if the Green Bay Packers and their hard-celebrating white quarterback Aaron Rodgers made it to the Super Bowl this year?
The media has placed the bull’s eye on Newton’s back after his podium comments this week, and best believe everything he says from this point will be dissected and broken down to the finest grain. But it’s a non-issue and an unfair focus path to take considering we in the media usually ridicule athletes for their typically canned answers during large events.
Newton spoke from an honest place, all while knowing how detrimental it could have been, and stood up for himself as he and his team prepare for the biggest game of their lives.
But what might be an even grander mission is a chance to show the world that NFL players, despite their race, deserve the same respect and the same right to exist on their terms afforded to anyone else.
