#MAGFAB: Cardi B for Vogue Mexico

Cardi B is the cover star for Vogue Mexico’s September 2023 issue, and she celebrated by posting the new cover and three additional pictures to her Instagram on Friday (Aug. 25). The cover story follows the Bronx native addressing critics of her relationship with Offset and her career. She asserted that more people attack her because she isn’t one to back down from confrontation. Cardi also detailed that the hate is what inspired her and her husband, Offset, to release their new single, “Jealousy.”
“There are many female rappers out there who are not as judged as they judge me. I don’t have room to fail, I can’t lose… I think there has been a revolution in social media. People today have become more sensitive, but also more brutal,” she said. “When I started using the internet, I didn’t get so much into the lives of artists, I didn’t want to cancel them, much less hate them or ruin their lives.”
“My husband and I wanted to make a song like this after the haters didn’t stop talking about us,’ she added. “There are many people who always tell us things, that they are attacking us all the time, and we wanted to take all that weight off our shoulders. We were very tired of responding to people on the internet and we decided to better put it in music.”

As the interview continued, the “Hot Sh*t” rapper elaborated on allegations that Offset cheated on her. She expressed how difficult it is to navigate her feelings for him while listening to and seeing her fan’s opinions of him online.
“If you love somebody and you stop being with them, and you’re depressed and social media is telling you not to talk to that person because he cheated, you’re not really happy on the inside until you have the conversation. Then, if you get back with them, it’s like, how could you? You let all of us down,” Cardi elucidated. “People that be in marriages for years, when they say ’til death do us part, they not talking about little arguments like if you leave the fridge open. That’s including everything.”

#RHOA: The Pass, Kandi and Todd’s Movie Starring Drew Sidora, Will Stream Exclusively on Peacock
After becoming a major topic of discussion on The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 15, Todd Tucker and Kandi Burruss’ movie, The Pass, will soon be available to stream exclusively on Peacock.

Watch The Real Housewives of Atlanta on Bravo Sundays at 8/7c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo App.
The film stars Kandi’s RHOA castmate Drew Sidora, who previously teased to People that her role is “spicy” and “challenging.”

“It’s definitely very juicy, very juicy,” she added about the part. And Drew certainly wasn’t fibbing, as viewers saw her filming an intimate love scene in none other than Kandi and Todd’s bedroom.
Per the official press release for the film, The Pass “follows Nina (Drew Sidora) and Maurice (Rob Riley), a married couple who give each other one night off from fidelity — a ‘hall pass’” for their anniversary.

“Their lives quickly turn upside down as the one night of pleasure becomes a tool of deception,” the press release continues.

As viewers saw on RHOA Season 15, Drew plays a character who decides to use her hall pass to have a sexual relationship with a woman. Kandi also appears in the film as one of Nina’s friends. Her character poses the idea of the hall pass, and she asks Nina (aka Drew) if she’s “ready to come to the dark side” in the trailer.

Kandi and Todd’s film, The Pass, will be streaming exclusively on Peacock beginning Sunday, August 27, ahead of The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s season finale at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo.
When producing the film, Todd and Kandi decided to use their own home as a set.

“We actually used a lot of things that we own,” Todd explained in an interview on Episode 15 of RHOA Season 15. “We’re filming at our house. We’re saving at least six figures on location fees.”

Kandi wasn’t thrilled about the prospect of having certain scenes filmed in her space, though.
“We used my house for, like, the main house. Drew had to do some of her sex scenes in my bed!” she told Sanya Richards-Ross at Shereé Whitfield’s sip-and-see party.

“I understand my husband wants to keep the budget down,” she explained in a subsequent interview on the episode. “But in my bed, it’s just…”

Check out the steamy trailer for The Pass HERE
See more from Kandi, Todd, and Drew by tuning in to RHOA Season 15 on Sundays at 8/7c, and stream The Pass on Peacock beginning on August 28.

#HipHopNews: A New Kanye West Album Is Supposedly Coming Soon
Gregor Estevan posted a photo with frequent Kanye West collaborator Ty Dolla $ign, claiming he heard new West music blasting from his hotel room. Estevan captioned his Instagram Story, “At Ye’s hotel and music is blasting from his room while they’re recording their new album. It sounds insane!!”

This post follows a report from NBC News exclaiming that sources close to the “All of the Lights” recording artist will drop a new album soon. One source claimed, “New music is imminent.” This would be his first album available on all streaming sources since his Grammy-nominated album Donda. The release was followed by Donda 2, which was dropped exclusively on his Stem Players.

The news of new Ye music is interesting based on the report’s timing. With Drake’s For All the Dogs lacking an announced timing for the album to come, West added his name to the fold. The two friends or foes have had silent battles surrounding their last major solo album dates.

West has been remotely quiet following many controversial statements and actions that led to him losing his relationship with popular brands like GAP, Balenciaga, and Adidas. More recently, he went viral for coming out to perform alongside his protégé Travis Scott. The multi-faceted rap star brought him out in Italy and showed him love after many music lovers suggested that his newest album, Utopia, sounded similar to West’s Yeezus.

When Scott shared the stage with West, he passionately asserted, “There is no Utopia without Kanye West. There is no Travis Scott without Kanye West. There is no Rome without Kanye West.” With no clear timetable for Ye’s forthcoming project, people will be looking for more information as it comes in. It will be interesting to see how the music performs and where it will be housed.

Bob Barker Remembered As 'Sweet Funny Guy' By Adam Sandler After His Death

Adam Sandler has remembered Bob Barker. The 56-year-old actor starred alongside "The Price Is Right" host Bob - who died on Saturday, August 26 just four months short of his 100th birthday - in a scene in the 1996 comedy "Happy Gilmore" which sees the pair get into an altercation and joked that he "loved" getting beat up by Bob as he noted that the TV host will be "missed" by everyone.

"Such a sweet funny guy to hang out with. Loved talking to him. Loved laughing with him. Loved him kicking the crap out of me. He will be missed by everyone I know!" he wrote on Instagram.

The legendary TV star - who hosted the iconic game show for a total of 35 years - passed away at his LA from natural causes, according to TMZ. His representative confirmed in a statement, "It is with profound sadness that we announce that the World's Greatest MC who ever lived, Bob Barker has left us."

Bob suffered an injury in 2019 after taking a spill in his Hollywood Hills home, where he was treated by paramedics and not taken into hospital. The previous year, Bob was hospitalised in Los Angeles twice within one month because of severe back pain.

The former host also went to the hospital in 2017 after hitting his head in a fall at his home. Speaking about his long career, he admitted that he had "never" studied speech or aimed for a career on camera before he had been working for a local radio station and ended up as an announcer by chance.

He said during a speech at the Emmys in 2000, "I had never studied speech. I'd never studied drama. I had never been in a school play. I had never been before an audience and I was on duty there as an announcer. Ted Tucker, bless him, didn't show up. I didn't even have time to get nervous. I'm out there doing it live."

Keke Palmer Celebrates 30th Birthday By Hanging Out With Darius Jackson Amid Breakup Rumors
Keke Palmer has reunited with her baby daddy Darius Jackson. Amid rumors suggesting that they have broken up following the mom-shaming incident, the "Nope" actress and Darius enjoyed a meal together for her 30th birthday.

On Saturday, August 26, Darius went on Instagram Live to document his hangout with Keke. The pair were all smiles as they enjoyed some alcoholic beverages to mark her special day.
In the clip, Keke thanked Darius for taking her out to commemorate her latest milestone. "D, know you've been taking me out on my birthday as always. I mean, it's not always my birthday but you always do take me out," she said. "But I just thank you for making it special for my birthday, that's so sweet."

"I took you out for your birthday, on your birthday, and that's why we're out here on your birthday and having drinks on your birthday," Darius replied. Keke then responded, "I love that you're starting to get it."

The "Alice" star went on to joke about why Darius talks trash about Virgos, which is her astrological sign. "My mom's a Virgo, my brother's a Virgo, my best friend's a Virgo, my grandma's a Virgo,” he said before looking at the actress. "My partner in crime's a Virgo."
"You're obsessed with Virgos so that's ok. It is what it is," Keke then interjected. "Get into the Virgos and admit that Virgos are the one. It's already too late, your Virgo already has you hooked."

Split rumors between Keke and Darius emerged after he shamed her on X (formerly Twitter) for wearing a sexy outfit at Usher's concert. Earlier this month, however, Darius shut down reports saying he has moved on from Keke.

"I haven't spoken to anyone about anything or gave permission to anyone to speak for me," he wrote on X. He then added in the August 17 post, "So all these sites & post about me making any type of statement is false."

Adele Stops Las Vegas Show to Scold Security for “Bothering” a Fan: “Leave Him Alone”

Taylor Swift isn’t the only major musical artist willing to call out security in the middle of a concert.
On Saturday night, Adele stopped her own concert in Las Vegas to stand up for a fan in the crowd who she said was being “bothered” by security.

Multiple videos posted by attendees show the singer pausing the show in the middle of her performance “Water Under the Bridge” to ask security what was going on.

“What is going on there with that young fan who’s been bothered so much, since I came on, for standing up? What’s going on with him?” she asked during her Weekends With Adele show at Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

It took her a moment to get the attention of the person she was addressing, with a little apparently confusion taking place: “Yes, you, with your hand up, yes you! Put your hand up. You, no you, yes, you with the stick in your hand. Yes, him.”

Once she had their attention, she continued: “What are you doing? Why are you all bothering him? Can you leave him alone, please?”
Then, to the fan, she added: “They won’t bother you anymore, darling. You enjoy the show.”
“Leave him alone,” she reiterated to security.

Adele then spoke to the rest of the audience: “Sorry, guys. He’s been bothered the whole show by security and other people sitting behind him. He’s here to have fun. All of you are here to have fun.”

Adele then told her band, “Let’s start again,” and they started playing “Water Under the Bridge” again.
The moment was reminiscent of Swift’s actions in May at a Philadelphia stop on her Eras Tour. During her performance of “Bad Blood,” Swift shouted “She’s fine!” and “She wasn’t doing anything!” to a security guard. (The music didn’t stop, unlike it did during Adele’s interruption.)

R.I.P. Arleen Sorkin, original voice actor (and inspiration) for Harley Quinn and Days of Our Lives

Arleen Sorkin has died. Although she was a veteran actor and performer with a number of credits to her name, Sorkin is most closely associated with a single role: DC Comics character Harley Quinn, who she was originally hired to play, as an unnamed side character, for a single episode of Batman: The Animated Series in 1992—and who she would continue to play for the next 20 years, crafting one of the single most important modern additions to the Batman mythos in the process. Her death was reported tonight by Deadline, after DC Studios co-head James Gunn, and long-time co-star Mark Hamill, both appeared to confirm the news. Sorkin was 67.

Devastated to learn we've lost the brilliant Arleen Sorkin. Not just a wonderful talent, but a truly wonderful person. I'm grateful not only to have worked with her, but to have been her friend. 🙏 Sending my heartfelt condolences to her family & loved ones. 💔 pic.twitter.com/g1Mb3BWoKn
— Mark Hamill (@MarkHamill) August 27, 2023

Born in Washington, D.C. in the 1950s, Sorkin studied theater in college—meeting Batman: TAS writer Paul Dini while the two were both at Emerson. Moving to New York after graduating, she became involved in the city’s comedy scene, booking radio ads and other small parts—including a recurring part as beloved character Calliope Jones on Days Of Our Lives, which, in addition to its own merits, was also destined to be one of the most influential soap opera gigs in all of comic book history.

Outside her voice acting work, Sorkin continued to hold a number of gigs—including a short stint co-hosting America’s Funniest People that ended in an acrimonious lawsuit in the early ’90s. Among her other jobs, she holds a strange position in the mythology of the sitcom Frasier, which was co-created by her husband, prolific TV writer and producer Christopher Lloyd: The show’s regular gag of having celebrities play the callers to Frasier Crane’s radio show was facilitated by Sorkin, who delivered the fill-in dialogue that was later replaced with the recordings from the famous cameos. (Sorkin herself appeared in the show’s final episode.)

In her later years, Sorkin was a regular on the comic convention scene, often teamed up with voice actor Diane Pershing—whose dynamic with Sorkin, as BTAS’ version of Poison Ivy, laid much of the groundwork for the characters’ future relationship. She was also a noted collector of movie and TV memorabilia, owning a hefty collection of Harley Quinn merch amongst her other treasures.

Sorkin is survived by her husband, Christopher Lloyd, and their two sons.

#BoxOfficeNews: ‘Gran Turismo’ is #1 at The Box Office with a $17.3M Opening
Sony’s late-summer event pic Gran Turismo declared victory at the weekend box office race with a $17.3 million domestic opening, a somewhat muted start for a movie based on a popular video game. The hope now is that an A CinemaScore from audiences will provide a turbo boost in the days to come.

Directed by Neill Blomkamp, the racing pic had been set to launch nationwide on Aug. 11 but switched gears because of the actors strike and the resulting prohibition on the cast — led by Orlando Bloom and David Harbour — doing any press. The studio instead hosted two weekends of sneaks and a handful of fan screenings to build buzz before opening the movie everywhere on Aug. 25.

The opening number includes a hefty $3.9 million in grosses from those previous sneaks. It’s hardly the first time that a Hollywood studio has added such grosses to an opening weekend number, but the early Gran Turismo screenings were more robust than is the norm.

Put another way: Warner Bros. and Greta Gerwig’s mega-blockbuster Barbie — which has now earned an estimated $594.9 million domestically — would have been assured of topping the weekend chart. Saturday estimates showed Barbie earning $15.7 million from 3,736 locations in its sixth weekend, but Warners bumped up that number to $17.1 million by Sunday morning. (The Barbie team was none too pleased about the Gran Turismo situation.)

Monday actuals will determine the official order. Box office analysts caution that numbers for all films could shift between now and then because of Sunday’s second annual National Cinema Day when tickets will cost $4 for any film in any format at thousands of cinemas across the country. “It will be a wild day in theaters,” says one Hollywood studio distribution chief. (As of early Sunday morning, analytics firm EntTelligence reported that Barbie was in the lead in terms of ticket sales.)

Overseas, Gran Turismo grew its foreign tally to a sluggish $36.5 million from 61 markets for an early global cume of $53.8 million, while Barbie earned another $18.2 million from 75 markets for a foreign tally of $745.5 million and a stunning $1.34 billion globally.

DC’s Blue Beetle slotted third place in North America with an estimated $12.8 million from 3,871 locations in its second outing for a domestic total of $46.3 million. If these estimates hold, that’s a decline of just 49 percent. Overseas, the superhero pic earned another $10 million from 70 markets for a foreign tally of $35.5 million and a disappointing $81.8 million globally.

Taking fourth place is Universal’s summer sensation Oppenheimer, which earned an estimated $9 million from 2,872 cinemas for a domestic total of $300 million. In yet another milestone, Oppenheimer has passed up Inception to become Christopher Nolan’s third-highest-grossing film at the domestic box office behind The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises, not adjusted for inflation.
Oppenheimer also continues to do big business overseas, grossing another $29.1 million for a foreign total of $477.1 million — that’s ahead of The Dark Knight‘s $471 million — and a global haul of $777.1 million.

In addition to Gran Turismo, a number of indie titles made a play this weekend at the U.S. box office as summer speeds toward the finish line. (The hope is that domestic revenue for the season will hit the $4 billion mark in a return to pre-pandemic levels.)

Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions’ Retribution, the latest action pic from Liam Neeson, placed No. 8 with an estimated $3.3 million from 1,750 theaters, in line with already lowered expectations. The pic could make up ground on premium VOD, although it got slapped with a C CinemaScore from audiences
Briarcliff/Open Road opened The Hill, an inspirational sports drama starring Dennis Quaid, in 1,570 locations. The movie took in an estimated $2.5 million from 1,570 locations.

Bleecker Street’s specialty film Golda, starring Helen Mirren as former Israeli prime minister Golda Meir, is looking to take in $2 million despite playing in far fewer theaters than The Hill, or 883 locations.
At the specialty box office, MGM and Amazon’s critically acclaimed Bottoms, a teen sex comedy directed by Emma Seligman, is off to an impressive start as it launches in 10 locations. The film’s location average for the weekend is $51,600, the best average for a film starting off in 10 locations since before the pandemic.

Several high-profile rereleases were also on the marquee timed to National Cinema Day, including Jurassic Park and American Graffiti. Jurassic Park stomped to an estimated $1.7 million.

'DWTS' judge Derek Hough marries partner Hayley Erbert in fairytale redwood forest wedding

"Dancing With the Stars" judge Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert, longtime partners in life and on the ballroom dance floor, are married.
Hough, 38, and "DWTS" pro dancer Erbert, 28, married Saturday in front of family and friends in a redwood forest in Northern California’s Monterey County, People magazine reported. Hough’s publicist Susan Madore confirmed the wedding to USA TODAY.

"It's one of the most breathtaking places," Hough told People. "It's like a fairytale."
"We're in a redwood forest, but we got married right in front of this mother tree that's surrounded by all these smaller trees," Erbert said. "They drop all the seeds, and it plants kind of like an army of children to protect the mother. The symbolism of it was beautiful. We're here, planting our seeds to grow our family.

After the nuptials, guests headed to the reception, which was held in a 100-year-old barn.
The couple began dating in 2015 after meeting on "DWTS": Erbert was a dancer on the show for seven seasons and four tours. Before joining the judge’s table, Hough, the younger brother of Julianne Hough, was a "DWTS" pro dancer, winning the coveted Mirrorball Trophy a record-breaking six times in the televised dance competition.

The couple announced their engagement on June 2, 2022, with joint Instagram posts featuring a perfectly lit dancers' embrace amid white flower petals, 250 oversized candles and white feathers. The whole surprise engagement was set up by Hough, transforming the couple’s Los Angeles home.
"It’s only the beginning … the beginning of forever," the Instagram caption read.

Hough telegraphed the weekend wedding with an Instagram post Wednesday of a romantic song he had written called "Hold Back Time" featuring an animated video of a bride and groom jumping into a lake from a dock.

In the song, Hough intones, "Don’t be nervous about the future / We’ve go love and we won’t let it go."
The couple are due to dance together in their "Symphony of Dance" national tour kicking off Sept. 28 and Hough will take up judging duties for ABC’s "DWTS" this fall.
As for their first dance at the wedding, Erbert told Brides magazine the moment would be a personal one amid a professional career.

"We perform for a living, so we just want this dance to be for us," she said. "We don't want to perform for anyone else."
"We want to feel good and comfortable, but we don't need to be perfect," Hough added to Brides. "That's a lot less important to me than just looking into her eyes as we're rocking back and forth. I want to feel truly present in that moment."

People reported the couple's first dance was to "Fall Into Me" by Forest Blakk, which took place on an antique mirrored floor with a fog machine.

The WNBA Raised The Stakes At 2023 All-Star Weekend In Las Vegas
Anyone who says that the WNBA isn’t entertaining simply isn’t watching. This season alone, fans have witnessed the dominance of defending champions Las Vegas Aces, the rise of the New York Liberty’s elite trio of Breanna Stewart, Sabrina Ionescu, and Courtney Vandersloot, and the exciting return of Phoenix Mercury star Brittney Griner.

The league expanded its regular season to 40 games after previously only hosting 36. With the presence of more stars who have branched beyond the confines of the hardwood, more eyes are on the WNBA than ever before. Viewership and social media impressions have increased significantly and contributed to the longstanding fight for higher wages, proper treatment, and equal consideration to the NBA.
With so much excitement for the 2023 WNBA season, there was much intrigue going into All-Star Weekend at the Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas. Stewart captained her own team, and reigning

WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson led the opposing side. Team Stewart took the 143-127 victory and the Seattle Storm’s Jewell Loyd earned the MVP trophy after racking up 31 points, six assists and four rebounds.
LeBron James in-game, wearing the purple and gold Los Angeles Lakers uniform.; A'ja Wilson in-game, wearing the Black and gold Las Vegas Aces uniform.

“It’s awesome,” Loyd shared about appearing in her fifth All-Star game ahead of taking the MVP trophy home. “People want to say, ‘You’ve been here so many times’ but it’s still a great experience. You never know, right? You want to play ball and you never know until your name is actually called. For me, it’s super important to make sure I focus on my family and everyone who’s going to help me out the right way. I take this honor to think it’s not really about me.”

Loyd’s humility was aligned with her teammate, Minnesota Lynx’s Napheesa Collier, who was the second-leading scorer for Team Stewart with 20 points. Collier and Stewart recently partnered to create Unrivaled, a U.S.-based women’s league that will provide an alternative to top WNBA players who would normally resort to playing overseas.

“We’ve been planning [this league] for about seven or eight months now,” Collier said. “Time is flying. We’re just really excited to offer an opportunity where the women can stay in the States, not have to leave their families and go overseas, but still be able to increase our visibility. [Playing] overseas we’d basically go black, content-wise. You never see us until we’re back in the [WNBA].”

Collier beamed with pride upon letting it sink in that Unrivaled could be a catalyst for other women’s leagues to follow suit. “Then, it’s also just capitalizing on women profiting from what we’re putting on the court or on the field or whatever your sport may be and just taking the reins and then taking a little bit [of] control of our futures in that way,” she said with enthusiasm.

Chicago Sky’s Allie Quigley was also enthusiastic about All-Star Weekend and the WNBA as a whole. She holds the unique title of being the only player—NBA or WNBA—to win the 3-Point Contest four times. Even her massive achievements couldn’t stop her from being in awe of what Sabrina Ionescu accomplished during the Starry 3-Point Contest this year, scoring an NBA and WNBA record-breaking 37 points in the final round of the competition to seal her victory.

“It was [like] watching a video game,” Quigley said. “It was insane. I was like everybody else– just in awe, amazed, just very impressed that she did that. That’s never going to be touched again. That’s one of the best shooting performances that I’ve ever seen in my life.”

Naturally, there was some curiosity as to what would happen if Quigley and Ionescu ever went head-to-head in a long-range shootout. “Well, if it was yesterday, it would’ve been her,” the former WNBA champion said with a laugh. “Because I don’t think anyone’s touching that, but she’s an amazing shooter. I’ve had a front-row seat all season being able to watch her, and she’s unbelievable. It would be a tough one.”

Ionescu’s victory came after a tough loss in the Skills Challenge alongside her Liberty teammate Courtney Vandersloot. They faced off against the Las Vegas Aces’ Chelsea Gray and Kelsey Plum in the final round, who completed their round in 45 seconds, the day’s best time, to the Liberty’s 58. While the competition may not have gone Vandersloot’s way, she was very happy with the way the Liberty has been playing this season and the reception she has received after spending the last 11 years with the Chicago Sky.

“It is so fun to play in front of the [Barclay’s Center] crowd. They just really love us, ” Vandersloot said. “To get that support, and to only have been there for half a season, it just means [the] world to me. I was nervous about that because Chicago’s tough [but] they invested in me from the beginning. [So for New York] to just welcome me like this, it’s been amazing. I’m honored to be playing in front of them every night.”

Vandersloot won a championship with the Chicago Sky in 2021 and brought that experience with her to New York, along with a few of the team’s new additions. As a result, the New York Liberty have set a franchise record this season with 25 wins—and the season isn’t even over. Fans anticipate seeing them match up against the Las Vegas Aces in the WNBA Finals.

Aces guard Jackie Young made 15 shots before being eliminated in the first round of the Starry 3-Point contest, though she could have made more if not for an unfortunate mishap. The contest featured two Starry Balls which were worth three points each, and Young skipped an entire rack in the midst of the competition.
“Yeah, I don’t know,” Young said with a laugh when asked what happened during that moment. “[I was] locked in, my teammates [were] talking to me on the side.” While the 3-Point Contest didn’t go her way, she was happy to be part of All-Star Weekend for the second time in her career and that the Aces were able to host it.

“It’s an honor because we haven’t played here,” Jackie said. “[I’m just] having fun, playing my game.” Young ascended to 19 points per game this season, a career-high, and understands how important she and the other young players are for the Aces to go back-to-back in the WNBA Finals. “A lot of us are young so we don’t exactly know everything that comes with repeating,” she said. “We do have some [veterans] on our team that have been to the [WNBA Finals] before, so we just try to take as much advice from them as we can.”

While conversations were mostly about the Las Vegas Aces and New York Liberty, the Connecticut Sun cannot be overlooked. They are the third-best team in the WNBA, with a 23-10 record and victories over both teams ahead of them in the league standings. “We’re still adjusting without [Brionna Jones], that was a huge loss for us,” forward Alyssa Thomas said. “We’re still working out kinks, but so far [I’m] just happy with how my team has responded [to] her injury. Everybody’s really stepped up and helped a lot.”

Thomas has had a very well-rounded season. She is the league’s third-best rebounder, second-best passer, and is second in steals. She is one of just two players to average eight assists per game and two steals per game. For her though, there’s nothing like a smooth pass leading to a three-pointer.

“Oh, I love it,” she said. “It’s something that I really live for. I love to push tempo. I love to get my teammate [an] easy open bucket. So for me, it’s fun being able to give an assist, especially at the three-point location.” Thomas is an unselfish player who says defense is her identity and prioritizes doing whatever the team needs to get a win.

There are just a few weeks left before the WNBA Playoffs begin. Given what the players have accomplished so far both on and off the court, one can only expect the postseason to overdeliver. It’s not too late to start watching The W and be as entertained as the rabid fans who fill up each arena on a nearly nightly basis.

Steve Harvey Addresses Divorce Rumors, “I Don’t Know What Y’all Doing, But Find Something Else To Do”

Steve Harvey took the stage at Earn Your Leisure’s “Invest Fest,” where he addressed the rumors that his marriage to wife Marjorie Harvey is in trouble
“I don’t know what y’all doing, but find something else to do,” the comedian said, “‘cause we fine.”Earlier this week, rumors surfaced that the couple was headed for divorce after Marjorie reportedly cheated on the television personality. Nigerian Senator Ned Nwoko previously claimed that the rumors were untrue and that he confirmed that with Harvey directly.

“When we read about our friend Steve Harvey and his lovely wife having issues, we had to contact him, and he confirmed that he and his wife are very much okay and it’s all fake news and should be disregarded,” he said on Instagram. “The family is happy together, and we wish them all the best.”

Judge Refuses To Dismiss Rudolph Isley Lawsuit Againt Brother Ronald Isley, Case Could Go To Trial
The Isley Brothers will likely battle it out in court over the group’s name trademark, a judge has ruled.
On Wednesday, the nasty case between Rudolph and Ronald Isley took a turn in Rudolph’s favor when U.S. District Judge Thomas M. Durkin ruled that he would not dismiss Rudolph’s lawsuit against his brother. Ronald previously asked the courts to toss the suit since Rudolph had left the group in 1986, thus relinquishing all control over the group.

In March, Rudolph filed the claim, slamming Ronald for registering the Isley Brother’s name as an individual trademark back in 2021. It was approved last year. Since then, Rudolph argues his brother has been making various money moves. The men stipulated that they would equally divide all proceeds from the singing group, according to the retired Isley sibling. This was supposedly put in place after their other brother and group member, O’Kelly, died the same year Rudolph exited the group.

Rudolph is seeking full transparency of Ronald’s accounting and at least 50 percent of the money generated from music and other Isley Brothers endeavors. Since Ronald’s motion to dismiss was denied, both sides will collect evidence, and a jury trial could happen in the future. Judge Durkin ruled that if Rudolph’s claims are proven valid in court, then he is entitled to the rights to the name, Billboard confirmed. As of now, only Ronald and brother Ernie continue touring and performing as the Isley Brothers.

After this week’s development, Rudolph’s attorney, Brian Caplan, told Billboard that he was “happy that the court denied his brother’s motion to dismiss his complaint” and looks forward to receiving his rightful compensation.

#RHOA: Eva Marcille finalizes divorce from Michael Sterling
According to court documents obtained by Radar Online, the former “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star and the attorney signed their settlement agreement on Aug. 3.
Both parties reportedly waived their right to alimony or spousal support. Additionally, Marcille, 38, did not ask Sterling, 39, to pay her child support.

“The parties agree that each has ample income and assets to support the Children in their respective homes,” read the doc per the outlet.
“Accordingly, the parties agree that neither shall pay direct child support to the other.”

The exes were also reportedly awarded their own respective retirement and bank accounts and worked on a private custody agreement for their two children – sons Michael, 5, and Maverick, 3.
It’s unclear whether that agreement included Marcille’s daughter, Marley Rae, 9, whom she shares with ex Kevin McCall. Sterling gave her his last name and helped raise her since she was 15 months old.
The model filed for divorce from Sterling in March after less than five years of marriage.

Marcille claimed their union was “irretrievably broken” and that “there are no prospects for a reconciliation,” per court documents obtained by Page Six at the time.
“This has been one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make, but sometimes life takes your journey in a direction you were not expecting,” she told People in a statement.

“Our children remain our biggest priority, and the eight and half years we have spent together will always be cherished. We ask that you respect our privacy at this time.”
After the divorce news surfaced, Sterling vowed to win his wife back.

“I am not going to lose my wife. I am going to fight for her with every fiber in my being,” the lawyer wrote in a statement obtained by Page Six.
“I love her and I plan to show her how much I love her and that our love is strong enough to get to the other side.”
Sterling concluded, “I am not going to lose my wife. I am going to win her back.”

The former Bravo star and Sterling got engaged on Christmas Day 2017 and tied the knot one year later in October 2018

While she has mostly kept mum about her split, she did recently open up about getting back into the dating pool.
“It is new, I’m almost a decade off the market, so it’s different, but my focus [is] my kids,” she shared on the “Big Tigger Morning Show” earlier this month.

“My focus is on me and doing me, and I like a little sprinkle of gifts and things too.”

#HipHopNews: Cardi B Says She's Going To Release Her Next Solo Single "Very Soon"
Vogue México revealed the cover feature for its September 2023 issue starring Cardi B. The Bronx-born rapper spoke about a multitude of subjects, including her Caribbean roots, the complexities of being a woman in the rap industry, foraying into fashion, and more.

In her conversation with the publication, Cardi opened up about the growing anticipation for her next project. She said, “I’m not going to release any more collaborations, I’m going to release my next solo single. Right now, I’m working on the cover art and ideas for the next record because it’s definitely coming up. Everyone always tells me I should put the record out now.”

She added, “They did when I released ‘WAP’ [with Megan Thee Stallion] and when I released ‘Up,’ but I always let them know I’m not going to wait long after all these singles. So stay tuned because it’s coming out very soon. I also have plans in the world of cinema. In fact, I have plans to do as much as I can: Fashion, branding… I want to do it all, honey.”

Following the announcement post on her Instagram, support poured in from fans and celebrities alike. Ice Spice commented heart-eye emojis, while Jason Lee, Rubi Rose, and more congratulated the “Hot S**t” artist.

Elsewhere in the interview, Cardi talked about working with designers such as Thom Browne, Thierry Mugler, and Michael Kors. The musician noted, “I’ve always felt that being a woman of color, and being someone who doesn’t come from a wealthy family or not being a nepobaby, it’s always going to be harder to get into the spaces that I want to be in. But I’m thankful that my love of fashion has taken me to all those places.”

She continued, “I have worked on myself to the point of constantly sitting next to Anna Wintour and having conversations with her. It’s an amazing thing. It’s something that’s in you, so when you do it right, you’re rewarded.”

Multiple people killed in 'racially motivated' shooting at Dollar General in Jacksonville Florida.
Shooter and Victims identified

Three people were killed in a "racially motivated" shooting at a Dollar General in Jacksonville, Florida, on Saturday, authorities said.

Authorities on Sunday identified the three victims shot and killed a day earlier in Jacksonville, Florida, in attack that is being investigated as a hate crime.
The victims were identified as Angela Carr, 52, Anolt Laguerre, Jr., 19 and Jerrald De'Shaun Gallion, 29.

Jacksonville Sheriff TK Waters on Sunday identified the shooter as 21-year-old Ryan Palmeter, a White man who authorities say took his life. Waters said that the gunman fired 11 rounds into a car, killing Carr. He then entered Dollar General and shot and killed Laguerre, before exiting and returning to kill Gallion.

The gunman was armed with an AR-15-style rifle and a handgun and outfitted in a tactical vest when he shot three people -- two men and a woman -- before turning the gun on himself, according to Waters. No other injuries were reported in the shooting.

"This is a dark day in Jacksonville's history," Waters said. "As a member of this Jacksonville community, I am sickened by this cowardly shooter's personal ideology of hate."

The suspect has not been officially identified at this time, Waters said, who described him as a white man in his early 20s. He acted alone and there is no evidence he was part of any group, the sheriff said.

The sheriff shared photos of the guns used in the shooting, one of which appeared to have swastikas on it

"We must do everything that we can to dissuade this type of hate," Jacksonville Mayor Donna Deegan told reporters. "I can't even be able to tell you how frustrating this is for all of us because we've seen it too much."
The suspect is believed to have lived in Clay County with his parents and texted his father before the shooting, the sheriff said.

"At 1:18 p.m. he texted his father and told his father to check his computer," Waters said. "At 1:53 p.m. the shooter's family members called the Clay County Sheriff's Office. By that time, he had already began shooting in Jacksonville."

Deegan noted the shooting comes exactly five years after a mass shooting that occurred at a video game tournament in Jacksonville, in which a gunman shot and killed two people and injured nearly a dozen others before killing himself. The suspect in the Dollar General shooting reportedly referenced that incident in his writings, the mayor said.

"This was a hate-filled crime. And we just shouldn't have that kind of hate in Jacksonville," Deegan said.
The incident prompted a heavy police presence on the city's westside.

Edward Waters University, a private historically Black Christian university, confirmed that a security officer engaged the suspect prior to the shooting when he appeared in the vicinity of the Centennial Library on campus. The suspect refused to identify themselves and was asked to leave, EWU said. The incident was reported to Jacksonville Sheriff's office by EWU.

EWU issued a public safety alert alerting students to the shooting, which occurred near its campus. Students were kept in their residence halls until the scene was cleared, the alert said.
The university also expressed its condolences over the shooting.

"EWU stands in opposition to hate-filled crimes against minorities and other targeted groups, and we are deeply impacted and will not condone these types of actions in our community," EWU said in a statement.

Jacksonville Councilwoman Ju'Coby Pittman told ABC Jacksonville affiliate WJXX how the tragedy impacted the community.
"This is a tragic moment. My heart is heavy," Pittman said. "The people in this community, they're hurting -- and they have every right to. This makes no sense. I am very, very angry right now."

"It's unjust that we can't even walk on the sidewalk because we're not safe in any stores," she continued.

The FBI Jacksonville field office is assisting, according to an FBI Jacksonville spokesperson. The incident is being investigated by the FBI as a hate crime, an official said.
"The FBI Jacksonville Field Office is coordinating with the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida on the tragic shooting in Jacksonville, Florida. The FBI has opened a federal civil rights investigation and we will pursue this incident as a hate crime. The FBI will bring every resource to bear in this investigation. As this is an ongoing matter, we are not able to provide additional information at this time," the FBI said in a statement.

Homeland security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said he's spoken to the Mayor of Jacksonville and has offered resources to the city.
"Too many Americans – in Jacksonville and across our country – have lost a loved one because of racially-motivated violence. The Department of Homeland Security is committed to working with our state and local partners to help prevent another such abhorrent, tragic event from occurring," Mayorkas said in a statement.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis called the shooting a "very cowardly act."
"This shooting based on the manifesto that they discovered from the scumbag that did this was racially motivated," he said in a video statement. "He was targeting people based on their race. That is totally unacceptable."

The Anti-Defamation League condemned the attack, which occurred as the 60th anniversary of the March on Washington, a prominent moment in the Civil Rights Movement, was being marked in Washington, D.C.

"That this attack occurred while tens of thousands gathered in our nation's capital for the 60th anniversary of the March on Washington, serves as a painful reminder of how much work needs to be done to realize Dr. King's Dream," the ADL said in a statement.

Rev. Al Sharpton, Martin Luther King, III, Arndrea Waters King issued a joint statement with Jonathan Greenblatt, CEO of ADL.
"This hate is abhorrent, detestable, beyond humanity, and must be condemned by all. We all need to come together in solidarity in standing up to the evils of white supremacy and intolerance of all forms. Such bigotry should have no place in our society. And it is a reminder that the hate-fueled violence that Dr. King called out sixty years ago and that we condemned today from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, aren't antiquated concerns, but remain a clear and present danger that threatens us all," the statement said.

#RIP: Bob Barker, The Price Is Right Legend, Has DIED at 99
Bob Barker, legendary The Price Is Right host, has died at the age of 99, confirmed by his publicist Roger Neal to Vulture. Neal released a statement reflecting on Barker’s legacy in American television, “It is with profound sadness that we announce that the World’s Greatest MC who ever lived, Bob Barker has left us.” CBS remembered Barker as a “beloved member” of their broadcast family in a statement to Vulture: “During his 35 years as host of The Price Is Right, Bob made countless people’s dreams come true and everyone feel like a winner when they were called to ‘come on down.’ In addition to his legendary 50-year career in broadcasting, Bob will be remembered as a dedicated animal rights activist. Daytime television has lost one of its most iconic stars.”

Barker first began his career in radio, working in Missouri and Florida before eventually finding his way to California to host The Bob Barker Show in Burbank. After hearing Barker’s unique ability to connect with his listeners on the air, game show producer Ralph Edwards hired him to pivot to on-screen work and host Truth or Consequences in 1956, paving the way for the rest of his career. It wasn’t until 1972 when he joined his most notable project that made him a game show legend: the revival of The Price Is Right. As host for 35 years, Barker was welcomed into the televisions of millions of Americans — especially those who were sick at home — and helped shape the program into becoming one of the most beloved game shows of all time.

Not every experience on The Price Is Right was a positive one. In 1994, long-time model Dian Parkinson sued Barker for sexual harassment and alleged she was forced to have sex with Barker out of fear of losing her job. She eventually dropped the suit in 1995, explaining that it was too costly and took a toll on her mental health. Barker did admit to the relationship by describing it as engaging in “hanky panky” but claimed it was consensual.

After hosting 6,586 episodes (and only missing one day of taping in his career as host), Barker retired from the program in 2007, with Drew Carey succeeding him. During his time on The Price Is Right, Barker publicly renounced hair dye, becoming one of the few television hosts with naturally gray hair. Inspired by his late wife and high school sweetheart Dorothy Jo Gideon, he was a vegetarian and an advocate for animal rights, ending every episode with “This is Bob Barker reminding you to help control the pet population — have your pets spayed or neutered.” He made several appearances since his departure, including an April Fools prank in 2015.

Barker never remarried after the death of his wife in 1981. However, he did find companionship again with his friend Nancy Burnet, and were together for 40 years. In a statement, Burnet said, “I am so proud of the trailblazing work Barker, and I did together to expose the cruelty to animals in the entertainment industry and including working to improve the plight of abused and exploited animals in the United States and internationally.  We were great friends over these 40 yrs. he will be missed.”

Beyonce Stops Show Due To Audio Snafu At 'Renaissance' Tour's Arizona Stop

Beyonce Knowles has stopped her show due to technical problems. During her "Renaissance" tour stop in Arizona, the "Break My Soul" hitmaker left her fans amazed as she handled the audio snafu like a pro.

In the middle of her performance onstage at State Farm Stadium in Glendale on Thursday, August 24, the 41-year-old songstress decided to leave the stage and paused her performance for a few minutes after learning there were technical problems with the audio. Not long after that, the lights in the stadium were off and a number of her backup dancers followed her backstage.

Before the audio snafu, Queen Bey, who looked stunning in a sparkling silver outfit, was dancing on the stage along with the group of dancers. Once she started holding her microphone close to her mouth and singing, the mic stopped working. Her fans could not hear her voice and they began to mumble. Despite the difficulties, she handled the situation professionally by making her way out of the stage with a few dance moves.

After the problems were taken care of, the Billboard Music Award winner left the concertgoers amazed by appearing back on stage with a whole different get-up. "You know, there's certain nights when the crowd is so loud that so much charge makes the power go out," she told the concertgoers, prompting them to applaud.

About what happened later on, one of the concertgoers recalled in a tweet, "After an audio issue stopped the show, Beyonce has returned to perform 'ALIEN SUPERSTAR' again AND has also completed a costume change, debuting a brand new look!" In the clip that was attached in it, Beyonce could be seen sporting a different silver ensemble that came with a pair of butterfly wings on her back.

It did not take long for the tweet to be flooded with online responses. In the replies section, one X user suggested, "This makes me think it was part of the show and not an actual mishap since she changed into another outfit from the previous one. If she didn't come back with the new outfit it would have been an actual mishap."

Sandra Bullock So Thankful For 'Incredible' Support After Bryan Randall's Death
Sandra Bullock thanks for the outpouring of support following the death of her long-time partner Bryan Randall. The photographer died on August 5, aged 57, after a three-year battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and Sandra has been overwhelmed by the recent support.

The Hollywood star has "seen the incredible outpouring of support toward ALS research since Bryan's passing," a source told PEOPLE.

The insider added, "It was very important to her that when she and his family made the initial statement of Bryan's passing, those who were on this journey with her and Bryan, from the beginning, were recognised - with the Healey Center at Mass General leading the way. She is so grateful to all those who have donated and is happy that out of something so heartbreaking came something so positive for others."

Randall's family announced his death earlier this month. They said at the time, "It is with great sadness that we share that on August 5, Bryan Randall passed away peacefully after a three-year battle with ALS. Bryan chose early to keep his journey with ALS private and those of us who cared for him did our best to honour his request."

ALS is a type of motor neuron disease, and is also known as Lou Gehrig's disease.
Randall's family added, "We are immensely grateful to the tireless doctors who navigated the landscape of this illness with us and to the astounding nurses who became our roommates, often sacrificing their own families to be with ours. At this time we ask for privacy to grieve and to come to terms with the impossibility of saying goodbye to Bryan."

Steve Harvey seemingly fires social media manager amid divorce rumors

He seemingly fired his social media manager over a negative tweet regarding comedians and is now having to hear rumors about wife Marjorie Bridges cheating on him.
Harvey, 66, shared a video Friday night suggesting he fired his social media manager after they posted a tweet urging followers to name a comedian that does not make them laugh.

"Somebody that works for me on my Twitter put a statement out that was totally negative. I gotta take responsibility for it 'cause they work for me, but the engagement was talking about 'name a comedian you don't think is funny.' Why would I do something like that?" Harvey said. "That don't even make no damn sense.

"My whole brand is to be motivational, and I'mma turn around a say something like that? You don't know where these young people [are] at in they career, man. They could be coming up or anything. I'm all about positivity; I would've never done nothing like that."

Harvey confronted the employee, who told him he needed more engagement, and the comedian joked that now somebody needs "employment."
Steve Harvey's wife cheated on him?

The following morning, false reports about Bridges "seeking divorce after she was reportedly caught having an extramarital affair with their chef and bodyguard" flooded the internet.

Ned Nwoko, a Nigerian businessman who described himself as Harvey's friend, dispelled the cheating rumors, saying the TV personality told him they were false.

"Fake news has been taken to new heights all over the world and this is so unfortunate," Nwoko wrote. "We experience this practically everyday and so when we read about our friend Steve Harvey and his lovely wife having issues, we had to contact Him and He confirmed that he and his wife are very much okay and it's all fake news and should be disregarded. The family is happy together and we wish them all the best."

Steve and Marjorie married in 2007. Neither party has yet to publicly address the baseless allegations.

Luis Rubiales suspended by FIFA for 90 days, pending full investigation, for actions at World Cup
FIFA announced Saturday, after he forcibly kissed Jenni Hermoso at the 2023 Women's World Cup last Sunday. Rubiales won't be allowed to partake in any football-related activities at the national and international levels during his initial suspension, which is still pending a full disciplinary investigation that began Friday.

FIFA also ordered Rubiales and the Spanish soccer federation (RFEF) to not contact — either personally or through a third party — Hermoso.
"FIFA reiterates its absolute commitment to respect the integrity of all persons and therefore condemns with the utmost vigour any behaviour to the contrary," FIFA said in a statement.

Rubiales kissed Hermoso on the lips soon after Spain won the World Cup last week, an act that Hermoso said was nonconsensual. Rubiales was also seen grabbing his crotch after the final whistle blew. Rubiales later apologized for his actions, though he said the kiss with Hermoso was mutual and not malicious.

He then told an emergency federation session Friday he would not resign from his position despite multiple calls for him to step down. One Spanish men's national team player announced he wouldn't play for his country until Rubiales faced punishment, and the entire Spanish women's team said it wouldn't play until Rubiales resigned.

The RFEF, meanwhile, claim Hermoso lied about her actions that day and did consent to the kiss.
"The RFEF and Mr. President will demonstrate each of the lies that are spread either by someone on behalf of the player or, if applicable, by the player herself," the federation said in a statement. "The RFEF and the President, given the seriousness of the content of the press release from the Futpro union, will initiate the corresponding legal actions."

But for now, Rubiales will be away from Spanish soccer for a few months while FIFA continues its investigation.

Bill Murray and Kelis Have Broken Up: Report

Ah, as summer comes to a close, so do its flings. Or at least that’s the lesson Bill Murray is learning, according to a new report from The Sun, which claims that the 72-year-old actor has been “dumped” by his 44-year-old summer lover, Kelis.

News that Murray and Kelis were dating first broke earlier this summer, when The Sun reported in June that the two had been “getting close for a while.” Now, though, their romance has come to an end, with a source telling The Sun that “things just ran their course.”

Thankfully though, the Ghostbusters star and the “Milkshake” singer are keeping things amicable. The source clarified that they “were — and still are — very fond of each other,” but the logistics of their lives and careers made things too difficult to keep up. “They both have busy schedules and, after a whirlwind romance, decided to go their separate ways,” the source said. “They hope to remain friends, but also plan to get on with their lives.”

The two first connected after a chance encounter, and reportedly bonded following the death of Kelis’ second husband, photographer Mike Mora, who passed away from stomach cancer in March 2022.

After getting together, Murray was spotted at Kelis’ shows in London, with sources claiming that they were sharing hotel rooms. Both have been hesitant to confirm anything to the public, though, with Kelis only making allusions to the affair online… until recently, that is.

When one fan asked if Kelis “would care to address” the dating rumors, she replied: “lol no babe, I wouldn’t bother at all.” In another reply, Kelis furthered the ambiguity, writing: “Everyone’s dumb and will believe anything, but the best part is we are both blessed, rich, and happy.”

It appears that Kelis has become more willing to discuss the “romance” this week, though, perhaps because of its termination. When asked by an Instagram user on Friday, August 25th, if she was “really dating” Murray, she replied: “ugh, no!”

So, were they even together in the first place? We might not ever know. But what we do know is that they’re both single, and could maybe get some use out of Selena Gomez’ new single, “Single Soon.”

ASAP Rocky teases name of second child with Rihanna
ASAP Rocky is excited to reveal the name of his second child, reportedly a baby boy, with Rihanna. However, he is not ready to share the moniker with the world just yet.

The rapper was seen leaving a restaurant in West Hollywood earlier this week. He was displaying his stylish wardrobe and looked to be in a great mood as he got into the back of his car. When asked about the baby’s name on Wednesday (Aug. 23) night by TMZ, the famous artist stopped himself from letting the secret slip. He smiled and stated that the moniker would be revealed soon.

Rocky and Rihanna reportedly welcomed their second baby boy on Aug. 3 in Los Angeles, but kept the newborn’s name under wraps. All fans know is that it is rumored to start with an “R,” showcasing a theme. Their first son is RZA Athelston Mayers, born on May 13, 2022. He is named after the famous Wu-Tang Clan member.

Baby RZA’s name was kept a secret for nearly a year before it was revealed in early May. When the Wu-Tang icon was asked how he felt about the namesake, he stated that it was a “great honor.”
Rihanna broke the news of her second pregnancy on the Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show when she showed her baby bump to the world. Fans were both surprised and excited by the news of tiny tot number two.

The Grammy Award-winning artist was asked about her journey through motherhood in an interview with British Vogue earlier this year. She responded by saying the first nine months were “legendary.”
“It’s everything. You really don’t remember life before; that’s the craziest thing ever… You literally try to remember it — and there are photos of my life before — but the feeling, the desires, the things that you enjoy, everything, you just don’t identify with it because you don’t even allow yourself mentally to get that far because … it doesn’t matter,” she told the publication.

'The Blind Side' producers reveal payments to Tuohys and Michael Oher

The Blind Side producers are speaking out for the first time since Michael Oher accused the Tuohys of withholding his portion of earnings from the film.
The payouts to Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy and Oher were detailed by the co-founders and co-CEOs of Alcon Entertainment, Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove, “Today” reports.

The co-founders denied the accusations that they paid the Tuohys millions for the film. It was stated that the family was paid approximately $700,000 to be split among themselves. This was reportedly after Alcon Entertainment paid the talent agency of the Tuohy family and Oher $767,000. Presumably, Oher received his commission before the payment went through to the agency.

Oher filed a petition to end his conservatorship on Monday, Aug. 14, claiming he signed because he thought they were adoption papers. The former NFL star said he found out six months ago that the papers made the Tuohys his conservators rather than his adoptive parents.
However, the Tuohys’ lawyers claimed he was always aware it was not a legal adoption, as he mentioned the conservatorship in his 2011 memoir, “I Beat The Odds: From Homelessness, to The Blind Side, and Beyond.”

During a new Aug. 21 court filing, Oher accused the Tuohys of keeping almost 20 years worth of financial information from him. He asked that they provide a full accounting of their earnings from the 2009 movie.

Johnson and Kosove are speaking out because they feel Oher’s lawsuit caused media reports to mislead others about the film. They stated that many trustworthy individuals have spoken about the Tuohys raising and loving Oher as their own son.

Per the outlet, the pair also shared that the deal with Twentieth Century Fox was tailored to the rights at the time of the film. It did not include any notable payouts in the event of the movie’s possible success. Therefore, the Tuohys were not paid millions over Oher.

The producers stated that Michael Oher and the Tuohy family will continue to receive contractual payments for the movie.

Cause Of Bronny James’ Cardiac Arrest Revealed
The cause of Bronny James’ sudden and scary cardiac arrest incident last month has been revealed
A spokesperson for the James family spoke to People, revealing that the 18-year-old son of NBA star LeBron James has a Congenital Heart Defect. According to a statement, the defect is treatable.

“After a comprehensive initial evaluation at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center led by Dr. Merije Chukumerije and follow-up evaluations at the Mayo Clinic led by Dr. Michael J. Ackerman and Atlantic Health/Morristown Medical Center led by Dr. Matthew W. Martinez, the probable cause of Mr. James’ sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) has been identified,” the statement read.

Bronny is expected to make a full recovery and continue his basketball career.
“We are very confident in Bronny’s full recovery and return to basketball in the very near future,” it continued. “We will continue to provide updates to media and respectfully reiterate the family’s request for privacy.”

The basketball star went into cardiac arrest during a basketball workout at the University of Southern California’s Galen Center last month. He was released from Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles three days later.

Carlos Santana Apologizes for Anti-trans Comments – Next Minute He Deletes Apology

Carlos Santana faced criticism on Thursday when a video of the musician making anti-transgender comments during a concert in New Jersey in July resurfaced on social media.
“When God made you and me, before we came out of the womb, you know who you are and what you are,” the guitarist is seen saying in the clip.

He continued, “Later on when you grow up, and you see things and you start believing that you could be something that sounds good but you know it ain’t right because a woman is a woman and a man is a man — that’s it.”

“Whatever you wanna do in the closet, that’s your business, I’m OK with that,” Santana added, before mentioning his closeness to his “brother Dave Chapelle,” who also faced criticism for anti-LGBTQ comments made in his 2021 Netflix comedy special “The Closer.”

The criticism Santana faced on Thursday prompted the “Smooth” musician to release a statement on his Facebook page, where he wrote, “I am sorry for my insensitive comments.”

“They don’t reflect that I want to honor and respect all person’s (sic) ideals and beliefs. I realize that what I said hurt people and that was not my intent. I sincerely apologize to the transgender community and everyone I offended,” his statement continued.

Santana went on to mention that his “personal goal” is to “honor and respect all person’s (sic) ideals and beliefs whether they are LGBTQ or not. This is the planet of free will and we have all been given this gift. I will now pursue this goal to be happy and have fun, and for everyone to believe what they want and follow in your hearts without fear.”
“It takes courage to grow and glow in the light that you are and to be true, genuine, and authentic. We grow and learn to shine our light with Love and compliments,” he concluded.

HOWEVER … on Friday, Santana replaced his apology post with another one that read, “The energy of consciousness generates its own kind. hate begets hate love begets love.”

Santana’s controversial comments come during a record-shattering year for anti-LGBTQ legislation in the United States, with over 400 bills having been introduced in state legislatures since the start of the year – a new record, according to American Civil Liberties Union data as of April.

Education and healthcare-related bills, in particular, have swept through state legislatures at unprecedented levels, with a renewed push to ban access to gender-affirming health care for transgender youth and a heavy focus on regulating curriculum in public schools, including discussions around gender identity and sexuality.
