#RHO: Which Real Housewives Got Paid the Most By Bravo
The Real Housewives franchise rakes in millions of views, so it makes sense that their high-ranking talent gets paid accordingly. Between friendships breaking up, cheating scandals and table flips, the best Housewives know exactly what viewers want to see. Even though some of these women started off earning barely minimum wage, they eventually made the jump to the big league, costing Bravo to write some larger-than-life checks. If you ever think you may have gotten into the wrong profession, there is still time to become the best Bravo housewife you can be.

Teresa Giudice – $1M Per Season

The OG of the Real Housewives of New Jersey is said to rake in $62,000 per episode, per Radar Online. The mother of four has shared everything on the series, including the birth of her fourth daughter, her legal issues, time behind bars, and toxic family relations. Teresa Giudice is so popular she was even given a wedding special when she said “I do” to Luis Ruelas.

From Season 1 to Season 14, Teresa has been worth every penny, even if some fans are getting tired of her constant drama and pot-stirring.

Bethenny Frankel – $1M Per Season

As much as Bravo executives may dislike Bethenny Frankel right now, at one point, she was a major cash cow on the Real Housewives of New York City. Viewers forget that during her first season, Bethenny only made $7,250 per episode, as reported by In Style.

However, by the time she left the show, she was earning $1 million dollars a season, according to Page Six. Bethenny gave us iconic moments like “Mention it all” and Scary Island. Even though she is no longer a part of the Big Apple franchise, she was well worth the investment at the time.

Porsha Williams – $1.3M Per Season

Not surprising at all, but Porsha Williams was also paid a hefty amount to share her life on the Real Housewives of Atlanta. Since Season 5, Porsha has been making a major impact on the ladies of Atlanta, making sure to squeeze all the juice from her peach.

Due to her popularity, Radar Online reported that in her last season, Porsha made $1.3 million. It isn’t surprising since Porsha became a fast fan favorite as one half of the Frick and Frack duo.

Cynthia Bailey – $1.8M Per Season

The Real Housewives of Atlanta ladies know how to bring their A game, hence why a lot of the roster is on this particular list. Cynthia Bailey never struck me as the leading lady type, but her large check has definitely put me in my place.

By Cynthia’s last season, she was earning $1.8 million, according to Radar Online. Her courtship with Mike Hill and her televised COVID-19 wedding most certainly helped solidify her big numbers. From day one, fans watched her force NeNe Leakes to sign a friendship contract, her divorce from Peter Thomas, and her friendship with Kenya Moore.

Kandi Burruss – $2.3M Per Season

It’s not just Kandi Coated Nights keeping Kandi Burruss warm at night. It is also her massive payout from the Real Housewives of Atlanta. Kandi is known worldwide mainly for her vocal skills and her ability to read her co-stars.
Since Season 2, Kandi has shared her hustles, her Coming to America Wedding to Todd Tucker, and her semi-toxic relationship with Mama Joyce. No one deserves $2.3 million per season more than Kandi, except perhaps our next lady on the list.

NeNe Leakes – $2.85M Per Season

This Real Housewives star is a rich bit*h and didn’t only have her Trump checks to cash in. Per Radar Online, for her last season NeNe Leakes earned $2.85 million. Throughout her time on the show, NeNe snatched wigs, braved the ghetto for Kenya, threw some pretty physical slumber parties, and never gave off pick-me-girl vibes.

With the series possibly looking at a reboot, fans are hoping Bravo will splash the cash so NeNe can return to her rightful palace on the throne.

DO YOU THINK THE REAL HOUSEWIVES STARS ARE PAID TOO MUCH?

#HipHopNews: Cardi B Previews New Music In Miami
Cardi B brought in 2024 with some old and some new – previewing an unreleased track while also partying with her estranged husband, Offset.
Bardi hit the stage at Miami Beach’s Fontainebleau on Sunday night (December 31), streaming the performance as part of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve broadcast. Following her set, the Bronx native’s DJ shared a snippet of a new song strictly for the club-goers in attendance that night.

In a fan-captured clip, Cardi can be seen energetically rapping along to the song from the side of the stage. “I said my opps linking up/ I’m like what? Give a fuck,” she spits on the track. “If you scared then just say that, hoe/ Enough is enough!”

Also on the night, despite being adamant they were still broken up and even cursing fans out over speculating to the contrary, Cardi was later spotted partying with Offset – who had previously been tapped to perform at the same event prior to their split.

You can check out the new music snippet as well as the estranged couple partying in the footage HERE:

Back in November, Cardi B hinted at the idea of dropping some new music before the year ended — so she kind of made good on her word.
“But I was thinking about, you know, being really quiet, being really private,” she said in a Twitter Space. “But I don’t know. Maybe I should just put a lil’ something something out before the year ends.”

She continued: “It depends, though, because…hmm. Would y’all mind if I just do, like, a video? […] I don’t really have nothing planned for, like, right now. I don’t know. I’ll think about it by the end of the day. I don’t know. I just feel like I gotta talk my shit a little bit. You know what I’m saying?”

While promoting her Megan Thee Stallion-assisted single “Bongos” in September, Cardi B addressed her long-awaited sophomore album and promised she’d put it out “soon.”
“You know what? I was indecisive but I was like, you know what? I should already start talking about the album because I’m going to be putting it out very soon,” she said on Hot 97’s Ebro In The Morning. “But it’s like I have to watch it because I always feel like somebody watching me — it’s going to come out when it’s going to come out.”

When asked whether the disc would drop before the close of the year, prior to Christmas, the “Drip” rapper continued to play coy revealing: “I can say that; it’s not going to come out this year.”
In a separate interview with DJ Whoo Kid, Cardi revealed that while she has a date and title in mind she’s “keeping it under wraps.”

“I’m kinda still working but I have a date in mind,” she began. Before addressing whether Beyoncé previously sending her flowers on her birthday was any indication she’d be on the album.
“It’s not coming out on my birthday. Matter fact, I don’t want nothing coming out in the month of October. October is my month. I don’t want no shit related to work in October, okay,” she concluded.

Cardi B hasn’t released a full body of work since her debut LP in April 2018, Invasion of Privacy. Since then she’s released a handful of singles, including the chart-topping 2020 song with Megan Thee Stallion, “WAP.”

Monica Ignores Fans' Concerns After Appearing To Faint During Houston Concert

Monica remains mum on her condition after sparking concerns about her health following her concert over the weekend. The singer has not publicly addressed her health scare after she appeared to pass out during her show in Houston.
On Saturday night, December 30, the 43-year-old was in the middle of performing in The Bayou City, Texas when she seemingly passed out at the side of the stage. A video circulating online, which was obtained by TMZ, saw a woman with bleach blonde hair being carried away by a crew member.

Some people on X, formerly Twitter, claimed that they saw Monica being taken away in an ambulance. "They're saying Monica left in an ambulance after passing out by the stairs," an X user tweeted along with a fan-taken video from the show. "They say she came out late; 10:35 and people were walking out by 11:05..concert goers do say something seemed off."

To complete the look, the "If I Were a Boy" songstress put on a pair of white pointed-toe strappy high heels and carried a small matching handbag with a short strap. She covered her eyes with a pair of white-framed black sunglasses. In addition, her long platinum tresses were styled into waves and parted in the middle.

Beyonce accessorized herself with a silver necklace that came with sparkling small diamonds and a huge one, which was placed on its pendant. She also added a pair of silver earrings and decorated her long fingernails with nail arts featuring Santa Claus hats.

Another joined in, "Alright now! It's about how Beyonce stole the Visuals! Happy New Year Bey!!!" A third noted, "2023 was definitely Beyonce year because she made so much history in one year."

Former Baltimore Prosecutor In Freddie Gray Case Marilyn Mosby Faces Law License Suspension

The Maryland bar counsel is currently pursuing the suspension of the law license of Baltimore City’s former chief prosecutor, ex-State Attorney Marilyn Mosby. This action follows her conviction on two federal perjury charges in November.

If the petition goes through she might never have the credentials to serve as a lawyer again.
The Attorney Grievance Commission of Maryland filed its 28-page petition on Friday, Dec. 22, and hopes a decision to suspend her law license comes swiftly. The document detailed the many ways that Mosby violated the Attorneys’ Rules of Professional Conduct.

“There is no doubt that at some point this proceeding was going to take place, it was just a question of when,” Baltimore attorney Adam Ruther said, according to CBS News.
Thomas M. DeGonia, the state’s recently appointed bar counsel, and Assistant Bar Counsel Leonard H. Addison IV said because she was convicted of a “serious crime” under the state’s Rules of Professional Conduct for attorneys, Mosby qualified for discipline from the state’s high court, according to the Baltimore Sun.

The petition submits that Mosby committed one or more criminal acts that reflected “adversely on the attorney’s honesty, trustworthiness or fitness as an attorney in other respects.”
It also added that she engaged “in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation” and  “in conduct that is prejudicial to the administration of justice.” This was supported by her November 2023 conviction.

In her recent trial, jurors found that Mosby had made false statements regarding her Mahogany Elite travel business, asserting that the company experienced numerous COVID-19 related hardships that resulted in substantial loss so that she could withdraw funds from her retirement account on two separate occasions.

Previously, she told the public not to “be fooled” by her indictment, however, the prosecution was able to prove their case against her.
The jury noted how, despite her saying she took a loss, the top lawyer made more money in 2020 than she did in 2019.

It was also discovered that she used the withdrawals to purchase two vacation homes in Florida.
Mosby is accused of doing more improper business related to the vacation properties.
In an ongoing federal case, she is tasked with defending herself against two charges accusing her of submitting false mortgage applications related to the purchase of two vacation homes in Florida. Federal prosecutors assert that Mosby neglected to disclose a $45,000 federal tax lien on her Baltimore home when acquiring the two Florida properties. Additionally, prosecutors accuse the former Baltimore City State’s Attorney of improperly indicating that the homes in Florida would serve as primary residences.

The jury selection for this trial is set to begin on Jan. 16. The trial is predicted to start on Jan. 18.
The courts have decided that Mosby will not be sentenced until after the conclusion of her second federal trial.

As she prepares for the new trial, she has 15 days from the date the commission filed to submit a written appeal. Should she not enter an appeal, her license will be suspended.
The news of the possible suspension came just days after she celebrated her 17th anniversary of being admitted to the bar. Legal experts believe that this will cause her to permanently lose her license to practice law.

Mosby’s chief counsel has not responded publicly to the petition.

Rasheeda Frost Says She Refuses to Apologize to K. Michelle Again Over Memphitz Drama After👀👀
Over the years, “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” star Rasheeda Frost has avoided K. Michelle‘s many attempts to bait he into an apology after Rasheeda cast doubt on the singer’s story about being physically abused by her ex-boyfriend and music producer, Memphitz Wright.
The “Can’t Raise a Man” singer spoke about the incident on the show during a sit-down with Frost, who called her a liar at the time, adding that she was friends with Michelle’s ex.

“You’re playing the public trying to make them think you were abused but we know that story has a lot of holes in it,” the rapper tweeted back in 2012. “So, the police came to the hotel and seen you beat and abused like you telling the world and didn’t lock up a Black man in Memphis, TN????…You claiming you didn’t want to press charges, but they would of took that into there own hands by law.”

Wright later sued his ex, “LHH: ATL,” and the show’s executive producer Mona Scott-Young for defamation.
However, court records from the defamation suit presented by The Atlanta-Journal-Constitution reveal that a physical altercation did take place between the two at a Memphis hotel in 2009. He reportedly attempted to quiet Michelle by putting a pillow over her mouth, which the court found to be an act of violence. The documents also reveal that Wright later sent her text messages threatening to murder K. Michelle’s son. Wright lost his suit.

K. Michelle and fans have encouraged Rasheeda to publically apologize for her remarks but she stubbornly avoided the topic altogether until now.
“I’m not apologizing, I’m not doing none of that,” Rasheeda said to her husband, Kirk Frost, in a video on Instagram Live.

Kirk said his wife already apologized to K. Michelle during the reunion episode. “Go look and shut up,” he exclaimed. “Go look and see that s—t happened 12 years ago.
Rasheeda decided to give fans more clarity about her remarks in a YouTube video, stating that what she initially said, “came out the wrong way.”

“I’ve had conversations and I’m sorry that you guys don’t know that I’ve actually had conversations with that young lady and we’ve spoken and I’ve apologized on that same platform that you’ve seen everything else.”

She continued, “She and I had conversations. I wished her well. I told K. Michelle and I apologized to her and wished her the best, we wished each other well. I always told her, I was like, ‘Girl you can sing your ass off. No matter if we getting along or not.'”
“Once we had that conversation and spoke again after …around the same time again. And then after that, we said that you know, ‘everything was cool.’ We apologized and everybody wished each other the best.”

The serial business owner added that she intentionally “chose not to comment” on other things that have been said on the internet over the years. But she wanted to address the false “narrative” that she doesn’t support women who have suffered from domestic violence.
“Me not being supportive of women who have been through domestic violence or anything like that, that is not who I am at all. Never not that,” she said.

Kirk later joined his wife in the video, reiterating that Rasheeda and K. Michelle talked during season 2 of “L&HH: ATL.”
“Rasheeda been apologized. Carter is 10, Carter was in her belly when she apologized,” he stated about their youngest son.
The “Marry Me” singer explained that she cannot take back what she said but she wants to continue moving forward with life.

K. Michelle recently spoke about their drama in August during an interview with The Shade Room. She accused Rasheeda of blocking her from “getting her hair” or doing anything in the city of Atlanta. “And then gone sit on panels of women empowerment and sit up there adn always attacking a woman.”
She clearly did not accept Rasheeda’s apology because she told the reporter, “It’s up for forever.”

Oprah Winfrey Explains Why She Does Not Appear In ‘The Color Purple’ Musical

Oprah Winfrey details why she opted to not make a surprise appearance in the 2023 The Color Purple musical despite a full-circle cameo from another actress. Speaking with Nekesa Mumbi Moody at The Hollywood Reporter, the media mogul elaborated on Whoopi Goldberg‘s brief appearance in the Blitz Bazawule-directed film.

“[We] just thought it was a wonderful Easter egg for audiences who have appreciated the film over the years, for the diehards,” detailed the 69-year-old. “And we also thought it was a lovely homage to Whoopi.”

She continued to elaborate on why she remained off camera, only acting as one of The Color Purple‘s producers.
“Dear God”: ‘The Color Purple’ Cast’s Intimate Reflection On The Musical Remake
“Actually, I thought about it, it would’ve been good in the church scene, but I thought it would also be distracting when Sofia is getting married that if the old original Sofia was just one of the people in the church, and then they were shooting that in the middle of Georgia when COVID was [spreading] like, ‘OK, well I ain’t sitting in that church all day anyway,’” explained Winfrey through laughter.

“And also I just think it’s more special that it’s just Whoopi.”
The Color Purple, which has already earned Golden Globe nominations, stars Fantasia Barrino as the adult Celie, Danielle Brooks as Sofia, Taraji P. Henson as Shug Avery, and Colman Domingo as Mister. H.E.R., Ciara, Halle Bailey, Deon Cole, David Alan Grier, and Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor all have roles in the remake.

Released on Christmas Day, the movie dominated the box office, with its $18 million profit domestically, making it the highest-grossing Christmas Day opening since 2009 and the second-biggest debut ever. Sherlock Holmes still holds the record with $24.6 million.

Washington Will Face Michigan In The National Championship🏈🏆🏈
New Year’s Day brought a pair of highly anticipated 2024 College Football Playoff semifinals, with the first game featuring a thrilling Michigan victory over Alabama in overtime. In the nightcap, the Washington Huskies and Texas Longhorns squared off in a Sugar Bowl tilt in New Orleans, and the game was riveting from start to finish. Though the Huskies never trailed, the game was close-fought throughout, including a 21-21 score at halftime and a one-possession margin for large swaths of the second half. In the end, however, standout quarterback Michael Penix and Washington’s offense did enough to secure a 37-31 victory and a meeting with Michigan for the national title.

In the first half, Penix connected on 11-of-14 passes for 255 yards and a touchdown, illustrating his efficient brilliance for all to see. Still, Texas managed to stay stride-for-stride with Washington, with the two teams effectively trading touchdowns all the way to the end of the second quarter.

Coming out of halftime, Washington asserted control with a touchdown drive. Penix found Jalen McMillan with a pinpoint strike from 19 yards out to put the Huskies in front by a 28-21 margin.
Texas then fumbled on the first play of the ensuing possession, setting up Washington for a field goal to give the Huskies a two-score advantage at 31-21. By the first minute of the fourth quarter, the Huskies were tacking on another field goal to take a 34-21 lead that they would never relinquish, though more fireworks did transpire.

After the two teams exchanged empty offensive possessions, Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers found Adonai Mitchell for a touchdown with 7:23 remaining. That brought the Longhorns within six and put the pressure back on Washington.
Up to the task as usual, Penix engineered a methodical drive that proved to be pivotal. The Huskies covered 65 yards on 10 plays and, while Washington did ultimately settle for a field goal, that put Washington up by nine points with fewer than three minutes remaining.

Texas zoomed into the red zone in a hurry, though, picking up a field goal to set up an onside kick attempt that was the team’s final gasp. When Washington secured it, the game was all but over. The Huskies could not simply kneel the game out, with Texas still possessing two timeouts, and Washington faced potential disaster after an injury when running back Dillon Johnson went down after a third down carry.

Not only was that an unfortunate injury for Johnson and the Huskies, but it also gave the Longhorns more time for a last-second comeback bid. Washington did not execute its clock management in flawless fashion before the ensuing punt, and the Huskies also committed kick catch interference to gift 15 free yards to the Longhorns. That allowed Texas to take over at the 31-yard line with 45 seconds remaining, and the Longhorns threatened in a real way.

First, Ewers connected with Jordan Whittington on third down for a 41-yard gain to move Texas into striking distance.
Texas running back Jaydon Blue also made an impressive sideline catch to accrue 16 more yards and set up another first down at the 12-yard line with 15 seconds remaining. However, the Longhorns stalled from there, failing to score on the next four downs, including a throw into the end zone that got batted away as time expired.

Throughout the season, Washington’s passing game has been heavily responsible for its success and what is now a 14-0 record. That continued on this night, with Penix racking up 430 yards on 38 attempts (11.3 per attempt) without committing a turnover. That was nothing new for the quarterback who was the runner-up in 2023 Heisman Trophy voting, but Washington also has top-flight pass-catchers. Five players had at least 48 receiving yards for Washington in the game, headlined by projected first round pick Rome Odunze, who had six receptions for 125 yards in the game. Though the ending was a bit of a mess for Washington, in part due to mismanagement from head coach Kalen DeBoer, the Huskies played a fantastic offensive game and, as they have all season, made a few defensive plays to form the winning recipe.

Washington and Michigan will now meet at NRG Stadium in Houston on Monday, Jan. 8 with a national title in the balance. Both teams will enter with perfect 14-0 records and each program will be seeking its first national championship in more than 25 years. That matchup will be appetizing, especially with Michigan’s vaunted defense attempting to slow Washington’s potent offense, but both teams can celebrate impressive semifinal victories as they face a relatively quick week of preparation for the sport’s biggest night.

Ian Ziering speaks out after ‘alarming’ fight with biker gang on New Year’s Eve😲😲

Ian Ziering has finally spoken out after he was viciously attacked by a group of bikers in Los Angeles on New Year’s Eve.
“Yesterday, I experienced an alarming incident involving a group of individuals on mini bikes,” the “Beverly Hills, 90210” alum, 59, wrote via Instagram on Monday.

“While stuck in traffic, my car was approached aggressively by one of these riders leading to an unsettling confrontation. In an attempt to assess any damage I exited my car. This action, unfortunately, escalated into a physical altercation, which I navigated to protect myself.”

TMZ obtained a video of the incident that occurred on Hollywood Blvd. and it showed the actor getting into a fight with several bikers on Sunday.
The “Sharknado” star was later seen consoling his crying daughter Mia, 12, who was in the car with him at the time of the incident.
“Yesterday, I experienced an alarming incident involving a group of individuals on mini bikes,” he wrote on Instagram Monday.

“While stuck in traffic, my car was approached aggressively by one of these riders leading to an unsettling confrontation. In an attempt to assess any damage I exited my car. This action, unfortunately, escalated into a physical altercation, which I navigated to protect myself.”
In his lengthy statement, Ziering revealed they were both unharmed.

“I am relieved to report that my daughter and I are both completely unscathed, but the incident has left me deeply concerned about the growing boldness of such groups who disrupt public safety and peace,” the 59-year-old actor said.
After the fight, Ziering was pictured consoling his 12-year-old daughter, who was with him at the time of the incident.

In his statement, he further said, “I am relieved to report that my daughter and I are both completely unscathed, but the incident has left me deeply concerned about the growing boldness of such groups who disrupt public safety and peace.
“This situation highlights a larger issue of hooliganism on our streets and the need for effective law enforcement responses to such behavior. As a citizen and a parent, I find it unacceptable that groups can freely engage in this kind of behavior, causing fear and chaos, while the response from authorities seems insufficient.”

While the “Swamp Thing” actor was seen throwing punches at a few of the bikers during the terrifying incident, he was listed as the victim of the brawl on a police report.
At this time, no arrests have been made, but Ziering wants to see “decisive action” from police following the incident. An investigation is still underway, according to TMZ.
“I have always been an advocate for standing up against intimidation and misconduct, and this incident reinforces my belief in the importance of personal and community safety,” Ziering added.

“We must address the underlying issues that lead to such disruptive behavior and ensure that our streets are safe for everyone. I urge city officials and law enforcement to take decisive action against such lawlessness and provide the necessary resources to prevent future occurrences.”

He concluded, “I am thankful for the support of my family, friends, and fans during this time. It’s in challenging moments like these that the strength and unity of our community are most vital. Happy new year.”
Ziering shares Mia and daughter Penna with ex-wife Erin Ludwig. They split in November 2019 after nine years of marriage and finalized their divorce in October 2022.

Tamar Braxton Slams Whoever Leaked Video Of Chrisean Rock Crashing Her Prayer Circle,
Tamar Braxton took to Twitter on New Year’s Day to address something we thought we left in 2024.
The singer and reality TV personality was disgusted after someone leaked a video of Chrisean Rock walking into her dressing room and crashing her pre-performance prayer circle.

Toni Braxton, who was also a part of the prayer circle, was visibly taken aback.
When Chrisean tried to grab Toni’s hand, the R&B diva kept it behind her back.
The video was taken on the same night of Tamar Braxton’s “Love and War Tour” where Chrisean allegedly assaulted James Wright Chanel and damaged his teeth.

Tamar took to Twitter and she was hot as fish grease when she wrote:
I wasn’t going to say anything because I think that at this point y’all are going to believe whatever you want. And ALL the events that happened was unfortunate.

But what is truly DISGUSTING is that my dressing room and prayer is a sacred place and whomever released that can go straight to hell.
This clip has also sparked a secondary conversation about whether or not Toni Braxton was wrong for the way she reacted to Chrisean Rock joining their prayer circle.

One person tweeted, “Some of y’all saying Toni Braxton was wrong in how she reacted to Chrisean. First of all, Chrisean should’ve STAYED where she was and STILL receive the prayer. She had no business interrupting the prayer just to go in between Tamar & Toni. Y’all not gonna judge legend Braxton now.”
Someone else commented on the leaked video writing, “Sum about a MF putting their hand behind their back so you can’t join in a prayer is NASTY SPIRITED AS F—, & said WAYYYYY more about Toni in this situation. And this was before it even got rowdy rowdy. HOW YOU TOO GOOD TO FELLOWSHIP?”

Do you think Toni Braxton was wrong for her reaction to Chrisean Rock interrupting Tamar’s prayer circle?

Oprah Winfrey Rings in the New Year with Epic Party Featuring Gayle King and David Oyelowo
Oprah Winfrey kicked off the new year with some of her closest friends! The media mogul, 69, rang in 2024 with a New Year's Eve party on Sunday night. Winfrey's BFF Gayle King and David Oyelowo — whom she starred opposite in The Butler — attended the bash, according to a post shared on Instagram by King, also 69.

In an image featured in the carousel of photos in the post, Winfrey poses beside King and Oyelowo, 47 — all three wearing gold 2024 glasses.
King, who opted to wear her themed shades upside down, wore a black shirt with gold embellishments to the NYE party, while Winfrey wore a multicolored striped sweater.
In the photo, Oyelowo stands between the CBS Mornings anchor and The Color Purple producer, smiling in a green shirt.

In the same post, King shared other photos and videos from the New Year's Eve event, including a clip of Oyelowo and other guests dancing to Burna Boy's "It's Plenty" and a sweet shot of herself with her family.

"Family pictures! Dinner! Dancing! New year off to a great start so here's to more in 20-24!!!" she wrote in the caption of her post.
Winfrey similarly documented the fun event on her Instagram page, sharing a video of the group posing outdoors. In the middle of the group, Winfrey poses beside her longtime partner, Stedman Graham.
"Wishing everyone a happy and blessed 2024 🥳🙏🏽," Winfrey captioned her post.

In December, Oyelowo told PEOPLE that the talk show icon had become "like a mother" to him since the pair first shared the screen in 2013.
"She's like a mother to me and has been since we did The Butler, where we actually played mother and son," Oyelowo said at a special event in Los Angeles celebrating his Paramount+ miniseries, Lawmen: Bass Reeves.

"She's just been so supportive with advice, practically speaking, spiritually speaking, emotionally speaking," Oyelowo continued of Winfrey.
"She has been with me on this journey, this eight-year journey to getting not only Bass Reeves made, but Selma made. She's one of the reasons that show, that film, exists," he added.

Oyelowo also credited Winfrey with inspiring him to take a stand for himself and the things he believes in, explaining, "She taught me what advocacy looks like because she has advocated for me enormously, and that's something I'm now trying to carry into my own life as well."

#MusicNews: Cynthia Erivo, Chlöe, Gladys Knight & More Pay Homage To Dionne Warwick At The 46th Kennedy Center Honors

The 46th Kennedy Center Honors aired this week on CBS, and the broadcast was filled with entertaining speeches and tribute performances paying homage to the five honorees. This year’s class included legendary pop/R&B hitmaker Dionne Warwick, British singer/songwriter/musician Barry Gibb, comedian/actor Billy Crystal, rapper/singer/actress Queen Latifah and opera singer Renée Fleming. Each artist had already received their medallions during a separate ceremony at the White House, and on this night, they received their flowers from an array of artists at the Kennedy Center.

The fête began with host Gloria Estefan and Sheila E. performing Miami Sound Machine’s “Conga” and Estefan’s solo jam “Get On Your Feet.” After that rousing medley, the first honoree to be celebrated was Dionne Warwick and showstopping performances followed.
Debbie Allen appeared on stage for Warwick’s segment and spoke about her legacy, accomplishments and accolades. She then welcomed the first performers to the stage, Mickey Guyton and The Spinners who sang “Then Came You,” her 1974 hit with the group. The country star was in her R&B and soul bag and sounded fabulous with The Spinners’ current lineup.

After a career retrospective narrated by Jennifer Hudson, Allen returned to introduce Cynthia Erivo. The British singer and actress sang “Alfie,” one of Warwick’s many hit songs that were crafted with Burt Bacharach and Hal David during their creative partnership. Dionne smiled and looked on approvingly from the balcony as Cynthia sang to the rafters and the heavens. With her powerful, effortless vocals backed by an orchestra, she turned “Alfie” from a mere song into a spine-tingling moment when she hit the final notes.

Cynthia Erivo was a tough act to follow, but Chlöe did her absolute best after Saturday Night Live’s Ego Nwodim brought a little comic relief to the proceedings. Chlöe performed “Walk On By,” and she brought the drama and her operatic vocal acrobatics for her live rendition.
Before the final musical tribute, Clive Davis then came out to share some remarks. The founder and president of Arista Records signed Dionne to the label in 1979 and is often credited with reviving her career at the time. He might have had the hookup, but Dionne had the talent.

It could be said that they saved the best for last by enlisting fellow music royalty Gladys Knight to sing “Say A Little Prayer” in her friend’s honor. Gladys sounded incredible, which is her default setting, and Dionne grinned and rocked in her seat, feeling it as much as everyone else who was there to witness this greatness.
Kennedy Center Honors did right by Dionne Warwick. This was a tribute befitting an icon. View performances by Cynthia Erivo, Chlöe and Gladys Knight below, or watch the complete tribute and entire 46th Kennedy Center Honors special streaming now on Paramount+.

#HipHopNews: Nicki Minaj's New Year's Resolution Goes Viral
On New Year’s Eve (Dec. 31), Nicki Minaj was spotted performing songs from her Billboard chart-topping album, Pink Friday 2, at E11EVEN Miami in Florida. While she was getting to a bag in the “Magic City,” a previously recorded clip of her New Year’s resolution was aired on CNN’s “New Year’s Eve Live” show hosted by famed producers and media personalities Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper.

When asked what her New Year’s resolution was by Cohen, the storied Queens emcee stated, “My New Year’s resolution is to keep my foot on these b**ches’ necks.” When the clip aired on CNN, Cooper hilariously responded, “Well, wow, who is she referring to?” before Cohen jokingly answered, “These b**ches.”

The comical back and forth further proved that CNN allowing booze back into the New Year’s Eve broadcast would let the hosts be more at ease during the end-of-the-year celebration. This was their first year reintroducing alcohol after taking a year off following some mixed reviews of Don Lemon’s last appearance on the show.

After seeing the clip, fans had a field day on social media. One user stated, “Andy totally understands dealing with all those d**n housewives; Anderson, on the other hand, is like ‘what now?'” While another commenter said, “Andy and Anderson are on the opposite spectrum of gay, and it’s hilarious to see together.” One more serious fan stated, “Going into 2024 still pressed by other females at her age is not a good look for the Barbz.”

Minaj has recently made headlines immediately following the release of her album, as fans believe that she may have dissed Megan Thee Stallion and Latto on her new LP. In the track “FTCU,” Minaj rapped, “Stay in your Tory lane, b**ch, I’m not Iggy,” which some listeners interpret as a reference to Megan’s past conflict with Tory Lanez. Notably, the Toronto rapper was sentenced to 10 years in prison for shooting the Houston native in the foot in 2020.

She addressed the bars during an exclusive sit-down with Joe Budden. During the interview, she stated, “Well, without thinking about it being shade to a few people, what do you think the line itself means?” The former emcee-turned-media personality closed the conversation by saying, “‘I’m not one of them,’ and I think it was a clever way to say that.”

Amidst all the noise, it is clear that Nicki Minaj bodied 2023 and is prepared for a big 2024 as she embarks on an international tour.

Lee Sun-Kyun's Funeral Held Without Autopsy Being Performed On Him

Lee Sun-kyun's funeral took place without an autopsy being performed on the tragic "Parasite" actor's body. The 48-year-old star was discovered unconscious in a car in a central Seoul park on Wednesday, December 27, with the country's Yonhap news agency reporting his remains were found after his wife Jeon Hye-jin alerted police to what appeared to be a suicide note she had found from her husband as he was facing a drugs probe by authorities.

According to report, he may have died from carbon monoxide poisoning - with officials also saying no autopsy was performed on him. They said the examination was not carried out as per Lee's family's wishes.
Lee's wife was seen weeping at his funeral on Friday, December 29, with Jeon sobbing heavily as her late husband's farewell procession was led by their oldest son, who carried a portrait of his dad.

Lee's other son returned from his studies abroad to attend the ceremony. The private funeral was held at the Seoul National University Hospital, and was attended by many of the actor's colleagues including Gong Hyo-jin, Ryu Seung-ryong, and Lee Sung-min.
Police reportedly believe Sun-kyun took his life. Lee reportedly begged police not to announce his last appearance for questioning over an alleged blackmail plot days before his apparent suicide.

His death came as cops were quizzing him over allegations of illegal drug use, accused of using marijuana and other substances at the home of a hostess from a local bar - though Lee insisted she had tricked him into taking the drugs and he had no idea what he was taking, and insisted she had tried to blackmail him.

The Daily Mail reported Lee's lawyer asked police to close the latest questioning round over the incident on Saturday, December 23 to the media, but police rejected the request.

Dave Chappelle Makes Another Transphobic Joke In New Netflix Special 'The Dreamer'
Dave Chappelle seemingly didn't learn his lesson. Despite getting backlash in the past over his transphobic remarks, the comedian continued making fun of trans people in his Netflix special, "The Dreamer".
The 50-year-old opened the set by telling a story about visiting the "Man on the Moon" set to meet Jim Carrey. "I wanted to meet Jim Carrey [who was method acting], but I had to pretend this n***a was Andy Kaufman. All afternoon," he recalled in the special, which was dropped on Sunday, December 31.

"I could look at him and I could see that he was Jim Carrey," he added. "Anyway, I say all that to say: That's how trans people make me feel."
Not stopping there, Deve also took aim at people with disabilities. "Tonight, I'm doing all handicapped jokes," he stated. "They're not as organized as the gays, and I love punching down."
controversial special, he said, "Gender is a fact. Every human being in this room, every human being on earth, had to pass through the legs of a woman to be on earth. That is a fact."
"Now, I am not saying that to say trans women aren't women, I am just saying that those p***ies that they got… you know what I mean?" he continued. "I'm not saying it's not p***y, but it's Beyond P***y or Impossible P***y. It tastes like p***y, but that's not quite what it is, is it? That's not blood. That's beet juice."

Andy Cohen Was Scammed Out of 'A Lot of Money' by Someone Pretending to be His Bank

Andy Cohen has been the victim of fraud. During a recent episode of his Daddy Diaries podcast, the 55-year-old TV personality revealed how he was scammed out of “a lot of money.”
“Someone called saying they were fraud alert from my bank,” Andy started.
When he got the call, Andy remembered that he had recently lost his debit card and believed that the two were related, so he shared his information with the person he thought was an employee of the bank.

“Then it asked for my Apple ID and password,” Andy said. “And I was like… ‘OK, this never happens.’”
Andy said he “bailed out” after that, but it was unfortunately too late.
“I had already logged into my bank app, and I think somehow, my logging in through whatever this site was gave them access to my bank app,” Andy said.

Andy noted that the scam callers hacked the caller ID system so the name of his bank appeared on his phone when they called. At the time, Andy said that he thought they were a legitimate fraud alert team calling about the earlier hacking, but he didn’t realize that it was the same callers.

“They were naming credits that I had made — the charges — because they clearly had access to my account,” Andy recalled, before admitting, “what I should have said is, ‘Can I call you back?’ Or what I should have maybe said is, ‘I’m gonna go to my bank and handle this.’”

Although he realized his mistake, he wasn’t able to stop the hackers from gaining access to his money.
Andy said he stayed “on the line with this woman for an hour and 10 minutes,” and later noticed that “these people wired out of two accounts that I have a lot of money.”

The fraudsters also talked Andy into unknowingly set call forwarding, meaning that when the bank called him about the large sums of money being transferred, he was unaware.
Now that he was able to figure out the scam, Andy says he’s “in the process of trying to get my money back.”

Tom Wilkinson, Star of ‘The Full Monty’ and Two-Time Oscar Nominee, Dies at 75
Tom Wilkinson, the British actor who appeared in films including “The Full Monty,” “Shakespeare in Love” and “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel,” died Saturday in the U.K., the BBC reported. He was 75.
“It is with great sadness that the family of Tom Wilkinson announce that he died suddenly at home on December 30. His wife and family were with him,” the statement from his family to the BBC read.

He won a BAFTA for supporting actor for “The Full Monty,” in which he plays an unemployed steel worker who joins a male striptease dance group who decide to strip completely — “go the full Monty” — in order to make money. Wilkinson reprised his role as Gerald in “The Full Monty” for the recent Disney+ series which revisited the characters 26 years later.

Wilkinson was Oscar-nominated for his roles in “Michael Clayton,” in which he played an attorney who has a manic episode; and Todd Field’s “In the Bedroom,” as the doctor husband to Sissy Spacek’s character.
Variety‘s Todd McCarthy wrote about his “In the Bedroom” role in a 2001 review, saying, “In an about-face from his fine turn as the arrogant Gen. Cornwallis in ‘The Patriot,’ Wilkinson gives enormously sympathetic shadings to Matt, who comes off as an ideal father and quite a good husband, Ruth’s later objections notwithstanding; it’s a large, warm-blooded performance.”

George Clooney, who starred with Wilkinson in the intense 2007 drama “Michael Clayton,” directed by Tony Gilroy, was quick to praise the actor, calling him “the epitome of elegance” and skilled as a thespian.
“Tom made every project better. Made every actor better,” Clooney told Variety. “He was the epitome of elegance and he will be dearly missed by all of us.”

Wilkinson also appeared in films such as “Rush Hour,” in which he played the evil British ambassador, and “The Grand Budapest Hotel.” He also had roles in “The Green Hornet,” “Batman Begins,” “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” and “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol.”
On television, he played Benjamin Franklin in “John Adams,” James A. Baker in “Recount,” for which he was Emmy-nominated and Joseph P. Kennedy, Sr. in “The Kennedys.”

He once again played a historical American in Ava DuVernay’s feature “Selma.”
Born Yorkshire, Wilkinson attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and then began acting on TV in programs including “Martin Chuzzlewit,” with a small part in “Sense and Sensibility” in 1995.

Wilkinson is survived by his wife, actor Diana Hardcastle, and two daughters.

Box Office: ‘Wonka’ Pulls Ahead of ‘Aquaman 2’ and ‘Color Purple’ Over New Year’s Weekend

Warner Bros. is continuing to beat out Warner Bros. and Warner Bros. over the New Year’s holiday weekend, with “Wonka” now rising above “The Color Purple” and “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.” With that trifecta, the studio has laid claim to the three of the top five slots at the domestic box office throughout the holiday season.

The Timothée Chalamet-starring musical added another $8.6 million on Friday, up 32% from one week ago. The Paul King film has emerged as the theatrical favorite for the holidays, crossing $100 million domestically earlier this week. With a $119 million cume to date, the film continues to show strength and will reach $300 million globally before the calendar turns.

Though it slid into second place for Friday with $6.75 million, Warner Bros.’ “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” fell 51% from its opening day last week. The latest and final entry in the current continuity of DC Comics adaptations has struggled for air, only reaching $65 million in its first week of release. The first “Aquaman,” released in 2018, surpassed that figure in its opening weekend alone. Bad reviews and superhero fatigue have plagued “Lost Kingdom,” which more than likely won’t even reach half the $335 million domestic total of its predecessor, much less justify a $205 million production budget.

Taking a close third place, Illumination and Universal’s “Migration” is maintaining its footing with $6.7 Friday after a muted $12 million debut last weekend. “Migration” has underwhelmed so far, but its 17% increase over last Friday remains encouraging, especially for an original animated film with a production budget of only $70 million.

“The Color Purple” is likely settling into fourth place after its impressive Christmas Day opening. The period musical earned $4.1 million on Friday to boost its domestic tally to $36.4 million. The film looks to add another $20 million or so through the four-day holiday weekend frame, ahead of what it hopes will be a healthy run through January as awards season kicks into high-gear.

Sony’s Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell starrer “Anyone but You” looks to round out the top five with $3.3 million on Friday. The romantic comedy has seen an uptick in business each day of the week. It will likely clear more than $26 million domestic gross through the New Year — not exactly a dazzling figure, but well on its way to justifying its $25 million production budget.

Dj Akademiks Accused Of Sexual Assault By His Ex-Gf
DJ Akademiks trended over the weekend after his ex-girlfriend accused him of sexual assault. During an Instagram Live session, the woman, Ziya Abashae, stated Ak and two of his friends allegedly committed the crime.

According to HipHopDX, a rape kit was conducted, and she shunned the claims by the controversial personality who stated she engaged in an orgy with his friends.
“For you to pretend you didn’t do anything? That I just went to your house, and I’m some thot, like we didn’t know each other for two years,” Abashae said. “You tried to save yourself after your friends assaulted me. Whether or not you got drunk or not, I know that when you woke up, you were on top of me too. You raped me too.”

Additional claims online feature a woman stating that Akademiks engaged in communication with her until she was 18 before he attempted to have sex with her and a video surfacing with a woman screaming in the background.

Driver Who Was Involved In Crash That Killed Laura Lynch May Be Charged

The driver behind the truck that fatally struck Dixie Chicks founding member Laura Lynch last week might get criminally charged for the incident.
Texas Department of Public Safety PIO Sgt. Eliot Torres told TMZ that because Lynch died, they’re investigating whether the driver was under the influence at the time of the accident.

Authorities say the driver had their blood drawn at the hospital for drug and alcohol testing but the results will only be released by the hospital once a judge signs off on the subpoena.
The driver could also be charged with other traffic offenses, such as reckless driving or unsafe lane changes.

An eye witness spoke about the tragic incident, saying the truck entered Lynch’s lane while trying to go around 2 other cars and struck her vehicle head-on on Highway 62 outside of El Paso.

Florida Woman Files Lawsuit Against Hershey Over Lack Of Design on Reese’s Holiday-Themed Candy
A Florida woman was apparently so upset with candy maker Hershey’s that she filed a lawsuit seeking $5 million.
Cynthia Kelly filed a federal class-action lawsuit Thursday in the U.S. District Court in the Middle District of Florida, alleging several Reese’s products don’t match their photos as depicted on the wrappers, specifically the parent brand’s Reese’s holiday-themed peanut butter candy.

The woman’s lawsuit claims Reese’s peanut butter pumpkins are merely pumpkin-shaped hunks of peanut-butter-stuffed chocolate, and says that the actual product has no Jack O’lantern-style carvings as the wrapper depicts.
She added the same for the brand’s peanut butter footballs and bats, as well as the white chocolate ghosts.

The suit says Kelly purchased a bag of peanut butter pumpkins for $4.49 at an Aldi in late October 2023 under the belief “that the product contained a cute-looking carving of a pumpkin’s mouth and eyes as pictured on the product packaging,” according to the suit.

Another photo in the suit shows a candy football with no carved lines for football stitching, CBS News reported.
“Looks like eggs,” words on the picture read.

“Plaintiff and the members of the Class have been aggrieved by Defendant’s unfair and deceptive practices,” the suit reads. “They purchased the Products with the reasonable expectation that the Products would look similar to the pictures displayed on the Products’ packaging.”
