Maxwell for V Magazine - Georgia Edition 2021!

Thirteen-time Grammy-nominated musician Maxwell, discusses voter suppression, systemic racism, and the organizations he’s partnered with to ignite change.

“I can’t overstate how important the Georgia Senate Runoffs are. We need to take those two senate seats so we can pass policy that is so desperately needed for marginalized communities in our country. I’m exhausted with the systemic racism that still plagues Black, brown, and indigenous people. I’m very focused on [the] Black Lives Matter [movement]; It’s a constant issue for anyone my age, and across [all] generations. We need to end racism now, and move towards being the melting pot that America promised. Other key social justice issues we need to [push] for include equal pay for women, a living wage, and equal opportunity so that everyone has a fighting chance.

“I want Reverend Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff to win in Georgia because we can begin to address [major] issues with a Democratic majority in congress. I’m from New York City, so it’s not in my hands, but I can make a few calls and nag the fuck out of anyone who is able to vote there! We all have to raise our voice and do what we can to get [everyone] out to vote in Georgia. Your vote is your voice. The more you use your voice, the more beautiful it will sound when you see your vote working for you. Black people have tried to use their voices to vote to no avail in the past, silenced through voter suppression, but we can take action and change that.

“There are some important organizations that are working to make it impossible for your vote to be suppressed. I’ve been working with a nonprofit organization, Plus1Vote. They have tirelessly extended an incredible opportunity to voters to offer free rides to the polls during the last presidential election and are now partnering with Uber to provide free rides for the current Georgia senate runoffs. I’ve also worked with IC2020, aka influence Change 2020, which facilitated a #ThankYouGA and #LiveFromGA Instagram live marathon. I had the opportunity to speak with Felicia Davis from the HBCU Green Fund; She has been leading work on the ground with other Black women in Georgia, and I was honored to speak with her and give her the platform she deserves.

“2020 was the game changer due to the pandemic. This year was about survival and showed how much impact our representatives have on our lives. You need to make sure your local representatives are pushing issues that matter to you, and more importantly to your community. We have to [get out and] vote to make sure our officials are not there to fatten their own pockets as we pay taxes for their cushy lives. We need to leave a better world for the young [generation] that will one day take the wheel when their time has come.”

#RHOA: Porsha’s Sister Lauren Add Fuel to The Fire Kenya Feud After Disinviting Her From A Party!

Uh oh! Even though Kenya was planning on inviting Porsha to a surprise event for Cynthia, Porsha’s sister Lauren didn’t extend Kenya the same courtesy when it came to throwing a party of her own.

Kenya Moore became furious during the Jan. 3 episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, after Porsha Williams‘ sister Lauren disinvited her from a surprise party for Porsha. Lauren claimed that she didn’t want to risk a fight happening — especially because Kenya and Porsha aren’t exactly best friends — but Kenya was still pissed.

What’s funny, though, is that Lauren didn’t even want to invite Kenya in the first place. Cynthia Bailey was the one who asked Lauren if she could bring Kenya as her “plus one”. So, obviously, Lauren was put on the spot and happily obliged, but after giving it a second thought, she decided to rescind Kenya’s invite. And Kenya didn’t find out until she had already done her hair and makeup.

Cynthia was the one to deliver the bad news to Kenya, and Kenya almost flipped out when she thought production knew about the situation before her, but they insisted that they were just finding out about it like she was. Cynthia begged Kenya not to shoot the messenger, so she didn’t, but she did say someone would be refunding her for her hair and makeup.

Later, at the surprise party, which was thrown in Porsha’s honor to celebrate her protesting and fighting for social justice, Cynthia delivered a birthday gift for Pilar — and it was purchased by Kenya. Porsha thought it was sweet, but at the same time, she also agreed that Kenya didn’t really need to be at her party.

And Kandi Burruss agreed because after Kenya found out that she was disinvited from the party, she called Kandi and trash-talked Porsha, accusing her of protesting only for the photo-ops. “Why does she only get arrested while on camera?” Kenya asked..

#NewMusic from H.E.R. ‘Hold Us Together’

H.E.R. has contributed a brand-new track to the soundtrack for the heartwarming Disney+ film Safety with her song "Hold Us Together."H.E.R. goes full-on inspirational for the occasion. That means she not only brings her trusty guitar, but we're also treated to strings, keys, a choir and bombastic drums — all the hallmarks of an inspirational anthem that will undoubtedly play over the end credits of a film.

While the verses speak to trusting in an unnamed figure, it's the song's pre-chorus that speaks to the blind faith of which she's invoking. "Even in the darkness, you will be my light / Even when I'm hopeless, you will be my guide," she sings. "I will not be shaken, I will not be moved / Even in the chaos, I know that you're good." These lyrics speak to the film, which finds a college football player going above and beyond to protect and provide for his little brother. However, the song could easily double as a gospel number.

#HipHopNews: L.A. Rapper 03 Greedo Tests Positive For Covid-19 Inside A Texas Prison!

03 Greedo has spent two years locked behind bars in a Texas prison for drugs and weapon charges. Now he’s joined thousands of incarcerated individuals in Texas who’ve tested positive for COVID-19.

A message was shared on Greedo’s Instagram account on Friday (January 1) asking for prayers.

“Please keep, 03 Greedo in your prayers,” the message reads. “He just tested positive for COVID. He is doing well. Currently he is having flu like symptoms. Thank you!”

In 2018, Greedo pled guilty and was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison on drug trafficking and possession of firearm charges. The L.A. rapper was originally charged in 2016 with possession of more than 400 grams of methamphetamine and unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

In Texas, over 27,000 incarcerated individuals have tested positive for COVID-19 with 177 individuals losing their lives. Additionally, over 7,700 staffers in prisons across the state have tested positive and 31 staffers have died.

Greedo’s positive test adds his name to a lengthy list of those in Hip Hop who’ve contracted the virus. Singer Jeremih endured a life-changing battle with the virus in November, nearly losing his life in the process.

“My whole insides, all my organs became inflamed,” he told Sway In The Morning. “It was going down, my heart went out, stopped beating and started beating irregularly, and my kidneys went out, my liver started to fail and go bad. Now I know all that now, mind you I didn’t know what was gong on at the time. I was out.”

Trump's 'Less-Than-Perfect' Call To Georgia Officials Could Also Be A Crime!

As word spread Sunday of President Trump’s astonishing phone conversation with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger the day before, there was widespread speculation that the president had committed one or more crimes in his effort to overturn the results of the election in Georgia, including extortion and, ironically, election fraud.

A recording of the one-hour call was released Sunday by the Washington Post. The president is heard pressuring Raffensperger to “find 11,780 votes” that would put him in the lead over President-elect Joe Biden in Georgia, which has already certified its results.

Trump also threatens Raffensperger with the possibility of criminal charges unless he comes up with the votes to overturn the election results.

“You know, that’s a criminal — that’s a criminal offense. And you know, you can’t let that happen,” Trump says on the call. “That’s a big risk to you and to Ryan, your lawyer. That’s a big risk.”

The Post did not say who recorded the call or how it obtained the tape.

Trump offered no direct evidence of voter fraud in Georgia, instead offering second-hand conspiracy theories about manipulated voting machines, ballots being scanned multiple times and votes simply being thrown out — all of which were investigated by Georgia law enforcement and the FBI, and found to be untrue. But Trump went beyond trying to prove that he won the state by “hundreds of thousands of votes,” pressuring Raffensperger to simply announce a new vote total showing him beating Biden.

“There’s nothing wrong with saying that, you know, that you’ve recalculated,” the president said.

Joined on the call by his general counsel, Ryan Germany, Raffensperger calmly and methodically disputes Trump’s election theories.

“Well, Mr. President, the challenge that you have is the data you have is wrong,” Raffensperger said.

Trump’s actions could constitute election fraud. Section 52 of the U.S. Code concerns voting and elections, and provides for a sentence of up to five years for:

“A person, including an election official, who in any election for Federal office

(1) knowingly and willfully intimidates, threatens, or coerces, or attempts to intimidate, threaten, or coerce, any person for-

(A) registering to vote, or voting, or attempting to register or vote;

(B) urging or aiding any person to register to vote, to vote, or to attempt to register or vote; or

(C) exercising any right under this chapter; or

(2) knowingly and willfully deprives, defrauds, or attempts to deprive or defraud the residents of a State of a fair and impartially conducted election process, by

(A) the procurement or submission of voter registration applications that are known by the person to be materially false, fictitious, or fraudulent under the laws of the State in which the election is held; or

(B) the procurement, casting, or tabulation of ballots that are known by the person to be materially false, fictitious, or fraudulent under the laws of the State in which the election is held.”

Trump’s citing possible criminal charges for Raffensperger unless he produces a different election result in Georgia could be seen as extortion, which section 18, chapter 41 of the U.S. code expressly prohibits.

The former lead counsel in Trump’s impeachment trial — which was predicated on what Trump called his “perfect phone call” to the president of Ukraine — agreed that this was also a less-than-perfect call by the president.

NYU law professor and former DOJ lawyer Andrew Weissmann also noted the similarity with Trump’s attempts to pressure Ukraine’s government to investigate Joe and Hunter Biden.

Trump’s call also raised the question of sedition, which is defined as “conduct or speech inciting people to rebel against the authority of a state or monarch.”

In a statement Sunday, Biden senior adviser Bob Bauer made many of those same points.

“We now have irrefutable proof of a president pressuring and threatening an official of his own party to get him to rescind a state’s lawful, certified vote count and fabricate another in its place,” Bauer said in his statement.

While flipping Georgia’s 16 electoral votes would not, by itself, change the outcome of the presidential election, it would be an important symbolic victory for Trump as he fights to overturn the results in several other swing states, including Michigan and Pennsylvania.

Trump did more than threaten Raffensperger; at several points he was reduced to pleading.

“Fellas, I need 11,000 votes, give me a break,” he says near the end of the call.

Whether Trump’s words result in legal troubles for the 45th president once he leaves office remains to be seen. If it does, though, Michael Bromwich, former Department of Justice inspector general and former assistant U.S. attorney suggested one possible defense.

Pelosi Re-Elected As U.S. House Speaker Amid Political Uncertainty!

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -Nancy Pelosi was narrowly re-elected speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives on Sunday, as a new Congress took office amid political uncertainty, with Senate control undecided and a Republican fight looming over presidential election results.

The House voted 216-209 to reinstate Pelosi, after Democrats lost 11 seats in the November elections to command a narrower 222-212 majority. Five Democrats chose not to support her - two voted for Democratic lawmakers who were not running, while three others simply voted “present.”

“As we are sworn in today, we accept a responsibility as daunting and demanding as any that previous generations of leadership have faced. We begin the new Congress during a time of extraordinary difficulty,” Pelosi said in a floor speech that noted the deaths of more than 350,000 Americans from the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Now is a time for our nation to heal. Our most urgent priority will continue to be defeating the coronavirus. And defeat it, we will,” she added, pledging that further aid would follow the latest $892 billion package that Congress passed in December.

The Senate remains Republican run ahead of twin elections in Georgia on Tuesday, giving its members a platform to again air President Donald Trump’s baseless claims that his loss to Democratic President-elect Joe Biden was the result of fraud.

Multiple state and federal reviews have found no evidence of the sort of widespread fraud Trump claims, but Republican senators and House members plan to challenge the election result when Congress certifies it on Wednesday.

A Republican push led by Senator Ted Cruz for an emergency 10-day audit of election results in contested battleground states drew criticism on Sunday from Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, a staunch Trump ally.

“It appears to be more of a political dodge than an effective remedy,” Graham said in a statement. “I will listen closely. But they have a high bar to clear.”

The narrower balance of power in both chambers this year could also encourage moderates from each party to flex their political muscles, especially after Trump leaves the White House on Jan. 20 and Biden, who ran as a centrist, takes office.

But leaders in both the House and Senate tried to sound optimistic despite mounting challenges.

“From political division to a deadly pandemic to adversaries around the world, the hurdles before us are many and they are serious,” Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said on the Senate floor.

“But there is also plenty of reason for hope,” the Kentucky Republican added, citing the ongoing rollout of coronavirus vaccine. “I’d say 2021 looks bright already.”

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, the chamber’s No. 2 Democrat, also said in a statement he hoped the new Congress would “turn the page” on partisan division “and begin a new chapter of cooperation among Democrats and Republicans.”

But the smaller Democratic majority and the still-raging coronavirus pandemic made re-election as speaker trickier for Pelosi, the only woman ever to hold the job.

“It’s not personal. It’s not malicious. It just represents a feeling in my district,” Democratic Representative Elissa Slotkin of Michigan told reporters before voting “present.”

“We need a different crop (of leaders) that represents a broader swath of the country,” Slotkin said.

The smaller caucus meant less room for dissident Democrats to vote against Pelosi without risking a possible win for Republican leader Kevin McCarthy, who opposed her.

“We are just (an) extremely slim amount of votes away from risking the speakership to the Republican Party,” said Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a progressive who wants new leadership but still backed Pelosi.

“It’s bigger than any one of us. And that is consequential,” she added.

In the Senate, Vice President Mike Pence swore in 32 senators on Sunday, administering the oath of office in pairs due to COVID-19 restrictions.

A Republican win of one or both Georgia Senate seats up for election on Tuesday would cement the Republican majority led by McConnell.

Twin Democratic wins in Georgia would produce a 50-50 Senate, where Democratic Vice President-elect Kamala Harris would hold the tie-breaking vote once she is sworn in on Jan. 20.

50 Cent Reacts To Nicki Minaj’s Newborn Son with a New Nick Name!

50 Cent has said a lot of distasteful things regarding his opinion in the media industry. The rapper is notoriously known for his trolling and sometimes offensive jokes. This time, something must have softened the rapper’s heart because his comments were far from his usual.

After Nicki Minaj revealed her baby boy to the internet. 50 was one of the many people to adore the pictures of the beautiful new born. “Look at them cheeks, we got another I would say south side but this baby rich. Look at him I think he know he rich already,” the rapper wrote.

When Minaj posted the pictures of her son she also revealed that his nickname is “Papabear” but 50 seemed to have a different idea. “Y’all can call him papa bear but I’m calling him Richie Rich.”

50 could be referring to the Fendi prints that Nicki Minaj had her son dripped out in. “Just so happens that I already had the exact same stroller. It’s my fave. Love you, Silvia. Thank you for everything #FendiPrintsOnMySonToo,” Minaj wrote on IG.

Congratulations to Nicki Minaj on her baby boy…..and to 50 … for finally being nice on his social media.

Alex Trebek’s Final Five ‘Jeopardy!’ Episodes To Air This Week!

The final five episodes that Alex Trebek taped as the beloved longtime host of “Jeopardy!” will air starting Monday.

Trebek, who lost his battle with pancreatic cancer in November, will be honored during the showing of his final episode Friday with “a special tribute to the life and work of the man who captained America’s Favorite Quiz Show with skill, style, and sophistication for 36+ years,” according to a statement from “Jeopardy!” producer Sony Pictures Television.

Trebek’s final episodes were originally slated to air during the week of Christmas, but producers pushed the showtimes back because they said the holidays might be too chaotic for viewers to tune in.

The Canadian-American game-show host announced his cancer diagnosis in March 2019 but powered through to tape episodes for the 2020-21 season before passing away at the age of 80.

Producers say he did not know that what ended up being his final show would in fact be his last.

“Jeopardy!” will continue airing new episodes starting Jan. 11 with guest host and $4,370,700 lifetime show winner Ken Jennings at the helm.

The show has not named a new permanent host to replace Trebek, but bookmakers are already taking bets on his successor, with Jennings, George Stephanopoulos, LeVar Burton, Neil deGrasse Tyson and Pat Sajak among the frontrunners.

#RHOP: Robyn Dixon Slams Trolls Spreading Rumors She’s Been Fired, Said They Come From ‘Non-Credible Sources’!

Robyn Dixon from The Real Housewives of Potomac has had enough of the rumors that she’s been fired from the show. She shot back at trolls saying their gossip was nonsense.

Dixon shared a screenshot of comments she’s received and had a sharp response to each remark. “Fired.” One person wrote. Dixon replied, “Sorry you get your news from non-credible sources.”

When another person expressed happiness they thought Dixon was fired, she responded with, “Don’t get too excited.” Other comments were hateful and extremely offensive. Dixon did not specifically state that she was not fired. She also did not confirm she was leaving or remaining on the series.

Monique Samuels made huge news when she first shared she was not fired from the show, but later revealed she had quit. Dixon’s rumor came to light after Wendy Osefo was on the Behind the Velvet Rope with David Yontef podcast and the podcast Instagram feed blew up about the interview.

Podcast host David Yontef hinted that his sources indicated Dixon was leaving the show in an Instagram thread after a commenter wondered if Dixon was staying or leaving.

“Well the thing is that’s the rumor but is it confirmed – personally we don’t think so,” Yontef wrote. “It seems that way but according to us – it’s NOT yet confirmed – but yea we think so. It kinda makes sense. Think about it – Gizelle without Robin? GAME F’ing ON!!”

Playboi Carti Lands First No. 1 on Billboard 200 With ‘Whole Lotta Red’!

Playboi Carti’s latest album Whole Lotta Red is Billboard 200's first No. 1 album of 2021—and also the rapper’s first-ever No. 1.

Billboard reports Whole Lotta Red moved 100,000 equivalent album units in its first week, with 10,000 from album sales and 90,000 from streaming, which comes out to 126.43 million on-demand streams. The album performed below HitsDailyDouble projections, which were 125,000-135,000 on Dec. 26. Carti expressed his appreciation for his fans after it became official that Red snagged the top spot.

Whole Lotta Red was the follow-up to Carti’s 2018 debut studio album Die Lit with the new offering boasting features from Kanye West, Kid Cudi, and Future, and production from Pi'erre Bourne.

Carti was able to dethrone Taylor Swift, who held down the No. 1 spot in back-to-back weeks with Evermore. While Swift was able to finish second, she was nearly bumped to third, thanks to a surge up the Billboard 200 chart by Lil Durk's The Voice, soaring from No. 46 to No. 3. The leap was due to the Dec. 24 release date of The Voice, which amassed 23,000 units in the only day of activity that Billboard could count towards the week.

Lil Durk earned his third top 10 finish, but his latest project fell just short of matching his best Billboard 200 outcome. That honor still belongs to Just Cause Y’all Waited 2, which peaked at No. 2.

Asian Doll Sits Down With Taraji P. Henson To Discuss King Von’s Passing!

In the year 2020, we have lost so many creative minds and artists on the rise. One of the lives the industry lost in 2020 was Chicago rapper, King Von, who was murdered outside of an Atlanta nightclub after a dispute with another rapper.

Since his passing, Asian Doll has been very vocal about her pain and grief at the loss of her ex-boyfriend. In an upcoming episode of Peace of Mind with Taraji Asian Doll shares what it was like once she heard that the love of her life passed away. In the 20 second clip, Asian Doll explains that once she found out about the passing of King Von her “whole world just crashed.”

“I had never felt a feeling like that. It’s like I was just broken,” she stated.

Asian Doll then describes her and King Von’s relationship prior to his passing. She explains that at the time, her and the rapper weren’t on the best of terms at the moment. I want to say like six days before he passed away, we had broken up and I was real hard on him. I was not trying to see him. I did not want to see him at all.”

In the preview of the episode, Asian Doll describes King Von as her soulmate. “It was more like a soulmate. It’s like dang I met you before, like how I feel so connected to you?” She also tells Taraji that Von was her first real boyfriend, her first love.

“It is ok to feel. You loved that man and he died suddenly. He was taken in a senseless murder. You know that’s not something you just push through and try to cope with,” Taraji said to Asian to comfort her.

If anyone can relate to Asian Doll it would be Taraji P. Henson, who lost the father of her son, Marcel, to murder back in 2003.

You can catch the full episode between Asian Doll and Taraji P. Henson on January 4th at 12 PM EST on Facebook Watch.

Tanya Roberts, 'Bond' Girl And 'That '70s Show' Actress, Dead At 65!

Tanya Roberts, who starred as the Bond girl Stacey Sutton in A View to Kill and played Lara Prepon's on-screen mother in That '70s Show, died suddenly on Sunday. She was 65. Roberts' representative told TMZ the actress collapsed after walking her dog on Christmas Eve and was on a ventilator at a hospital for the past week. Her death was not coronavirus related.

Roberts' representative said she collapsed at home after walking her dog. She was rushed to a hospital, where she was put on a ventilator. She died on Sunday. In the days before her death, she was "perfectly healthy," sources told TMZ, even sharing video chats with fans. Roberts was married to Barry Roberts from 1974 until his death in 2006. They did not have any children. She is survived by her second husband, Lance, and sister Barbara Chase.

Roberts was born Victoria Leigh Blum in New York City and started her acting career in New York before moving to Hollywood with her husband in the late 1970s. Her breakthrough role came in 1980 when she was cast to play Julie Rogers in the fifth and final season of Charlie's Angels. She was cast in several cult classics throughout the 1980s and starred opposite Roger Moore in his final James Bond movie, A View to Kill.

She continued appearing in movies and television regularly through the 1990s. Some of her movie credits include The Beastmaster (1982), Hearts and Armour (1983), Sheena (1984), Night Eyes (1990), and Inner Sanctum (1991). Aside from Charlie's Angels, she was seen in episodes of The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, Hot Line, and Silk Stalkings.

For many, Roberts is best known for playing Midge Pinciotti on That '70s Show from 1998 until 2001. Midge was the mother of Prepon's Donna and married to Don Pinciotti, played by Don Stark. Although Roberts left after the show's first three seasons, she returned for guest appearances in Seasons 6 and 7. According to Us Weekly, Roberts left the show to be with her husband as his health declined.

Roberts happily called the Hollywood Hills her home. In a 2015 interview with Closer Weekly, she said living there was "like being in the country, but civilization isn't far away when I need it." She and Barry bought the home just before his death and were surprised to see it up for sale when they drove past it. "Barry said, 'There’s no way that house can be for sale,'" Roberts recalled. "I called the realtor, found out that it was in escrow, and the next day, she called to say the would-be owner used a check they wouldn’t accept — so I got it!"

Meghan Markle's Estranged Half-Sister Samantha to Release Memoir About Royal Member With 'Hidden Truths'!

Meghan Markle's estranged half-sister Samantha Markle has been teasing a memoir that would pull back the curtain on her difficult relationship with the Duchess of Sussex, and now the book is finally coming. Barnes & Noble will publish The Diary of Princess Pushy's Sister Part 1 on Jan. 17 and listed the book for pre-order. Samantha, 56, announced the memoir in 2016 and has reportedly not seen Markle since 2008.

The book's synopsis promises "the truth" about Samanta's family "against all odds and ultimatums, as a royal fairy tale plummets from the tea towels. Sometimes the truth really is stranger than fiction. Samantha's author bio notes that she has battled multiple sclerosis, so she is "no stranger to challenges or tenacity." The bio notes, "With one screenplay in pre-production and her first book completed, she continues to roll uphill as a 'squeaky wheel,' inspiring others and defending truth, despite stereotypes and 'fake news.'"

Samantha has been talking about writing a memoir since before Prince Harry and Markle were even engaged, notes The Daily Mail. She announced the book in April 2016, when reports of the royal couple's romance surfaced. Harry and Markle did not announce their engagement until November 2017.

In February 2019, a close friend of Markle's told The Daily Mail the former Suits actress felt she was being "taken advantage of" by her older half-sister. At that time, Markle was seven months pregnant with her and Harry's first child, Archie, and Samantha was targeting an April 2019 release date for her book.

Markle's friend said she stopped reading interviews with her family after hearing about Samantha's literary plans. "She cried when she found out about it," the friend told the Daily Mail. "Out of everything that's been said, the one thing that really upset her was that [the book]. She and Samantha never had a very good relationship and she feels her sister is using her position for profit."

The "Part 1" subtitle for Samantha's book suggests she plans to write another volume. In February 2019, she told the Daily Star she was already working on a second book under the title In the Shadows of the Duchess. She planned to "cover everything from behind the scenes that the world does not know about... And trust me, there is a lot." Samantha, who lives in Florida, told the outlet that she has a "very big mouth and speak my mind – as the world can see – at any cost, even if it makes me unpopular, but I tell the truth even if it makes me unpopular."

#RHOA: Kenya Moore & Daughter Brooklyn Posed for a Luxe Pink Parisian Fashion Shoot!

Kenya Moore and her mini me, daughter Brooklyn Daly, are making an adorable habit of turning heads in high fashion. The Real Housewives of Atlanta entrepreneur and her precious tot have doubled our fun in coordinating outfits including a set of fabulous fringe dresses. But in a recent Instagram post, Kenya shared that they have a stunning series of photos headed our way that will be trés chic.

Perhaps they were inspired by Kenya's recent admission that little Brooklyn is already hard at work on becoming fluent in French? Or maybe they both just have a penchant for la belle jolie? Either way, on December 29, Kenya revealed a behind the scenes clip as the mother-daughter-duo posed in Parisian-inspired looks set against an impressive Eiffel Tower statue.

Kenya donned an embellished, white bustier top with a frilly, black, tulle maxi skirt and blush, pink, leather moto jacket in the snippet captioned "Oh la la". Meanwhile, little Brooklyn looked every bit the Paris transplant in a super sweet, light pink, pointelle skirt (meep) with a matching, itty bitty jacket. And yes, we spotted the teeny Chanel crossbody bag as well.

It doesn't get any cuter than this.

#MusicNews: Rihanna Responds to Fan Asking for 'R9' Album: '2021 Energy'!

It’s only been 2021 for a few hours, but a Rihanna fan already has their foot on the singer's neck for her dangerously anticipated next music project.

RiRi took to Instagram to celebrate the new year, posting a selfie with the caption, “new year’s resolution: apply the pressure.”

User @sgggbrina immediately swooped in and wrote, “Resolution should be releasing the album.” Rihanna returned with a memo for the fan: “this comment is sooo 2019. grow up.”

The singer’s long-rumored and now-infamous album R9 has been in the works for some time. Our most recent glimpse at the project-to-be was in September when Skylar Grey shared a snippet of a song she'd revealed that she worked on with Diplo for Rihanna’s album. She and Diplo reportedly collaborated on the song “when Rihanna was supposedly doing some kind of reggae album,” according to Grey.

And just a year ago, in late December 2019, Rihanna shared a mysterious video on IG where she appeared to hint at the project. “Update: me listening to R9 by myself and refusing to release it,” she wrote, with a clip of a small white dog energetically head-banging to House of Pain’s classic cut “Jump Around.”

Beyoncé Shares Unseen Footage of Blue Ivy, Rumi & Sir as She Celebrates the End of 2020!

While 2020 will go down as one of the worst years in recent memory for many, Beyoncé has managed to give her fans plenty of things to smile about. From the release of Black Is King on Disney+ to performing on the "Savage" remix with Megan Thee Stallion to her charity BEYGOOD offering grants to those impacted by the eviction crisis, Beyoncé has continually shown she is there for people.

And now, as she reflects on the year, Beyoncé has posted oodles of unseen footage on Instagram in her "Cheers to 2020" video. "Cheers to a New Year Beehive!! ðŸŽ†ðŸŽŠ," the singer captioned her video compilation. "2020 divided us and united us. Most could not see loved ones and we felt too many loses, but we were united by our humanity." She continued, "This year for me has been about celebrating joy, chasing happiness, and living in love."

From footage of her children to previously unseen outfits, Beyoncé really spoiled us with her end of year drop. The superstar shared a clip of her daughter, Rumi, rapping, before Beyoncé asked the little girl if she'd had a good summer. The exchange was too cute.

Rumi and Sir even posed together wearing pieces from Ivy Park's collaboration with Adidas.

She also shared photos and footage captured on New Year's Eve last year, as the family celebrated the end of 2019. Blue Ivy looked so grown up in the snaps.

Beyoncé's end of year video even included a montage of her dancing to Megan Thee Stallion's "Savage Remix" which featured the one and only Queen Bey. Beyoncé opted to wear only animal-print looks while dancing, singing, and posing to the hit track, and she looked absolutely stunning in every single outfit. Fans were quick to point out the epic segment, and its accompanying wardrobe.

IRS Accuses Prince’s Estate Of Undervaluing Worth: Report!

You could buy a fleet of little red Corvettes, and plenty of rasberry berets with the money from Prince‘s estate, if the IRS is to be believed.

The Internal Revenue Service insists the singer’s estate is worth a whopping $163.2 million and is accusing administrators of undervaluing his assets by $80 million, according to a report.

The singer died in his Minnesota home in April 2016. He was 57, and left no will.

Comerica Bank & Trust, which oversees the estate, has pegged its value at $82.3 million, but the IRS has said in federal tax court document’s the “Purple Rain” singer’s estate is so much larger, they’re owed another $32.4 million in taxes, according to the Star Tribune.

The dispute has led Comerica to ask the tax court for a trial, which could drag out the estate battle for years and generate legal fees to drain the estate even more.

'Power' Star Naturi Naughton Got Engaged For Christmas!

Actress Naturi Naughton’s holiday season came with an extra sparkle. Two days before Christmas, the Power Book II: Ghost star got engaged. Now she’s sharing her love story and engagement photos exclusively with ESSENCE.

“I’m still floating from my engagement,” shared Naughton, 36, of her news. The actress, who has been very private about her personal life, isn’t quite ready to share which lucky guy will have the honor of meeting her at the altar, but she did open up about how it all went down.

Just days before Christmas, Naughton thought she and her daughter Zuri, 3, were showing up for a princess-themed photo shoot arranged by her love. She thought the plan was to take family photos for the holidays. He’d taken care of everything. “This amazing man of mine planned this whole photoshoot, complete with my glam team and stylist might I add, for me and my daughter with matching princess dresses. All I had to do was show up!” Then something unexpected happened. “We are all just taking pictures as normal, then the music changes to a song called ‘Looking For Love’ by Mul-Ty,” Naughton shared. “Out of nowhere I see Mickey, Minnie, and the whole Disney crew walk in, and then I see my parents and one of my best friends walk in behind them—all wearing their masks. I was in shock! When I turned around, my now fiancé was down on one knee! Ahhhhh!”

Her fiancé had planned a special proposal for Naturi and her daughter. “He promised to take care of me and my daughter,” said Naughton. “Then he asked would I ‘do life with him forever’ and I said, ‘YES!’ The most beautiful part of the proposal is that he gave Zuri a ring too, with her birthstone (Ruby) in it. My fiancé said that his commitment to me is also a lifetime commitment to her. Zuri admired her ring, then said, ‘Oh For me?’ She was so happy.

For Naughton, her fiancé also including her daughter in the magic moment really sealed the deal. “It makes me happy that they have a great bond as well,” she said. “Any man that I would choose would have to know that Zuri and I are a package deal!”

Finding true love has double meaning for Naughton, she said that it wasn’t always something she saw in her future. “Three years ago, I gave birth to a beautiful Black princess and then suddenly I became a single mother overnight, all while shooting a hit show,” she recalled. “But underneath the makeup of Tasha St. Patrick, Naturi was dealing with a plethora of emotional bruises and scars. To be honest, I wasn’t sure if my heart could mend from the pain of past relationships, but won’t He do it? Today I am overcome with gratitude. I feel so blessed that God sent me a man who values me, my daughter, my family and has his own close relationship with God.”

So how exactly did Naughton and her mystery man meet? She has her TV husband to thank for introducing her to the love of her life.

“I never imagined that one random night in NY would change my life so much,” Naughton recalls. “I had no idea I was about to meet the best teammate ever. Omari Hardwick and I were recording a song together and Omari was like, ‘oh you gotta meet my people’. On that night, I met this kind, handsome, southern gentleman who would love me like I’ve never been loved. From that point on, we talked every day, quietly dated and fell in love. Thank you, TV hubby, for introducing me to my future hubby!”

Naughton hasn’t revealed her wedding plans or date but for now she’s content living in the moment and celebrating this new chapter.

“I know it sounds cheesy, but I truly feel like a Princess who has finally found her Prince.”

Malachi Love-Robinson, who spent time in prison as a teen for posing as a doctor, is accused of taking more than $10,000 from his employer. He reportedly had clients send money to him directly rather than to the shipping company where he worked.

Wisconsin Police Arrest Pharmacist Accused Of Leaving COVID-19 Vaccines Out Of Refrigerator!

Wisconsin police have arrested a pharmacist accused of removing 57 vials of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine from the refrigerator at a local hospital.

CNN reports that the man left the vaccine out, “knowing it would not be usable,” police said in a press release on Thursday. The pharmacist, identified by The Daily Mail as Steven Brandenburg, said in a written statement to Aurora Medical Center in Grafton that he intentionally removed the vials knowing the doses would be ineffective.

“Based on information available, (we) determined that the vaccine was still able to be administered on the morning of December 26, given the 12-hour period of viability after removal of refrigeration,” Dr. Jeff Bahr said, president of the facility, said. According to Moderna, the vaccine can last up to 12 hours outside of a refrigerator.

However, based on the pharmacist’s additional information in his statement, the vials were also left out of the refrigerator for some time on December 24 and 25. The 57 vaccinations that were found setting out by a pharmacy tech and given on December 26 are now thought to be less effective or ineffective. The hospital system has not said how much time the vials spent sitting out.

The pharmacist is being held at Ozaukee County Jail and could be charged with felony first-degree recklessly endangering safety, adultering a prescription drug, and criminal damage to property.

In total, more than 500 doses were lost. Hospital officials are partnering with Moderna and the US Food and Drug Administration to figure out an approach on how to handle those who received the 57 doses.

“This matter is being actively investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Food and Drug Administration, and the Grafton Police Department,” Grafton police said in a statement. As a result of the ongoing investigation, no other information is being released by officials.

The pharmacist’s name has not been released.

Vandals target homes of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell!

Vandals went on a spray-painting spree at the homes of Congress’ top two leaders in separate graffiti blitzes that appeared to target Capitol Hill’s failure to send out fatter stimulus checks.

The Louisville, Ky., home of GOP Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and the San Francisco residence of Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi were both splattered with angry messaging — and at Pelosi’s home, a severed pig’s head, according to reports.

On Saturday morning, a misspelled “where’s my money” and expletives were splashed across the front door and bricks of McConnell’s residence, the Courier-Journal reported.

Graffiti reading, "Were's my money" is seen on a door of the home of Senate Majority Leader Mitch

“I’ve spent my career fighting for the First Amendment and defending peaceful protest. I appreciate every Kentuckian who has engaged in the democratic process whether they agree with me or not,” McConnell said.

“This is different. Vandalism and the politics of fear have no place in our society,” he said, adding he has “never been been intimidated by this toxic playbook. We just hope our neighbors in Louisville aren’t too inconvenienced by this radical tantrum.”

A day earlier, Pelosi’s house was blitzed, a CBS affiliate reported.

About 2 a.m. on Friday, vandals painted “Cancel rent” and “We want everything” and then left a a severed pig’s head in a pool of red paint in front of her garage, the news outlet reported.

“I don’t think that this is a useful way to go about it and it’s a terrible start to this new year, when we are hoping for less anger and hatred than we’ve had to deal with for the last year,” Pelosi neighbor Audrey Carlson told KPIX.

Pelosi, who helped spearhead passage of a bill to increase $600 stimulus checks to $2,000, was in Washington, D.C., at the time of the spree.

But on Saturday, McConnell wouldn’t allow a vote on the proposed hike in direct cash payments to American households that qualify, called the CASH Act.

And time’s running out.The current session of Congress ends at noon Sunday. At that point, all pending bills will expire.

Those who’ve groused about the $2,000 relief checks say it doesn’t go to people who need the money the most. Chief among those with a dim view is McConnell himself, who’s called the measure an effort to “send thousands of dollars to people who don’t need the help.”

The Senate’s second-ranking Republican, Sen. John Thune of South Dakota, also is no fan, deriding the CASH Act as “a shotgun approach where a rifle makes a lot more sense.”

Uncle Sam has already started sending out the $600 stimulus checks that Congress approved on Dec. 21, and which President Trump signed off on last week.

In the long-shot chance a deal to increase payments to $2,000 is reached, the IRS has said it would send another payment for the additional amount to anyone who already received a $600 check.
