The Daily Buzz For May 8

Chris Rock Opens Up About His Affairs & Why He Wouldn't Marry Again
Chris Rock appears on the cover of Rolling Stone's latest issue, and the comedian has a lot to say. Throughout the lengthy profile, Rock discusses his respect for Prince, and his love of U2 and Richard Pryor's stand-up. But the most interesting parts of the interview are Rock's honest statements about his divorce.
Rock's divorce from Malaak Compton Rock was finalized last year, after 18 years of marriage, as Rolling Stone notes. And during a stand-up set at New York City's Comedy Cellar last October, Rock got surprisingly candid about the split.

Apparently, the comedian told the crowd that he'd slept with three women while on a comedy tour during his marriage. Rolling Stone writer Stephen Rodrick described the Comedy Cellar appearance as resembling a "therapy session."
"Would I ever get married again?" Rock said during the set. "Not if it would cure AIDS."
Rock apparently discussed custody of his and Compton Rock's two daughters, Zahara and Lola, while on stage, too. "If someone wants 52% custody, you know they want to kill you," he told the crowd. Rock also made jokes about his alimony payments, and he referred to his Total Blackout tour as "the alimony tour" during the Rolling Stone interview.
"I was a piece of shit," Rock said of himself at a different show, before launching into detail about the three women with whom he had affairs. Rodrick describes the women as "one famous, one semifamous, and one a member of the retail class."
"Getting divorced, you have to fucking start over," Rock told Rolling Stone. "You get to reset. It's not a breakdown, but something in your life broke down." For the comedian, part of that starting-over process includes his latest comedy tour and a $40 million Netflix deal.

Rock also recognized the challenges that face a relationship when one partner (in this case, Rock) is much more famous than the other. "My faults are magnified," the comedian told the magazine, addressing the idea that he could be unfaithful to his wife because of his status. "Your significant other, if they really love you, has a high opinion of you," Rock added. "And you let them down."

#RHoA: Former ‘Rhoa’ Kim Zolciak Trashes Her Co-Stars Before She Returns For Season 10
Kim Zolciak hasn’t been a part of the Real Housewives of Atlanta for five years, but she’s already trashing her co-stars ahead of Season 10. Radar Online reports that the Don’t Be Tardy star slammed the other women for not doing much with their lives over the past five years.
“I really call people like they are, I think. I’m very psychic, very intuitive,” Zolciak shared. “No one has really grown in five years, except Kandi. She had a baby, got married.”

Zolciak added that while her co-stars haven’t changed much, she’s had a few babies. She’s also been starring in Don’t Be Tardy for six seasons and doesn’t feel as though any of the other ladies have accomplished anything. She may have been out of the game for five years, but Zolciak clearly isn’t afraid to throw some shade.
Of course, Bravo hasn’t confirmed Zolciak’s return for the upcoming season. Radar Online reports that Zolciak is willing to return to the reality series, but only if the paycheck is right. Zolciak revealed that she would appear in Season 10 if producers offered her enough money and inside sources claim that her comeback is likely.

“That idea certainly isn’t far-fetched,” an insider noted. “The door is always open for Kim. She’s been part of the Bravo family for a long time.”

Zolciak hasn’t confirmed her return to the hit series. Given how she is already drumming up drama with her co-stars, there’s a good chance that Zolciak will be back when the cameras start rolling. Zolciak left the show after an explosive fight with her longtime nemesis NeNe Leakes in Season 5. Leakes is also rumored to be making a return next year but hasn’t confirmed the news.
According to People, Kim Zolciak was scheduled to make an appearance with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live but was forced to cancel after a dog bit her son. The reality star shared a photo of her 4-year-old boy, Kash, in the hospital after surgery.

“I don’t know where to start. The last 14hrs of our lives has been a living nightmare. My sweet @kashbiermann was bit by a dog and had very traumatic injuries. I’ve never prayed so hard, or been so scared in my life,” she captioned the image. “My husband, our daughters, Kj, Tracey, his nanny, Michael Beck and everyone close to us all pulled together and held each other up. Kash was in the operating room for a couple hours and now we are praying for a quick speedy recovery.”
In addition to her son’s accident, Daily Mail is reporting that Zolciak is fighting rumors about a recent plastic surgery procedure gone wrong. The reality star was spotted at LAX last week and tried her best to conceal her swollen lips as she made her way through the airport.

Zolciak is usually ready to smile for the camera but instead elected to keep her head down and hide her mouth with her cell phone. The reality star has talked about her regular lip injections in the past, but it looks like her latest filling may have gone wrong.
As fans are well aware, Zolciak has undergone numerous plastic surgery procedures over the course of her life. Apart from the multiple lip injections, Zolciak has gotten Botox since she was a young girl, had her boobs done, skin tightened, and tummy tucked. She also wears a wig on a regular basis because she doesn’t like wasting time getting ready.

Bravo hasn’t revealed the official premiere date for the new season of the Real Housewives of Atlanta.
Tell us! Are you excited that Kim Zolciak is returning for Season 10 of RHOA?

#EMPIRE: Empire Recap: Drop It Like It’s Hot
How is it possible that Snoop Dogg hasn’t appeared on this show before? Is it possible that Snoop Dogg doesn’t know that there’s a show called Empire and legitimately believed he was in a business deal with Lucious Lyon? I think so and I hope so. The episode opens with Lucious and Jamal in their separate studios working on their questionable masterpieces. Both of them hate what they’re working on, so Cookie decides to get some inspiration to help Jamal while Lucious kicks all of Snoop Dogg’s friends out of the studio for eating his food and that was the break into the opening credits! No joke. No big reveal. No plot to speak of. Empire, I’m going to need you to follow some basic screenwriting tenets for me.

Cookie runs into Lucious while she is fetching records for inspiration and decides to tell him the big news about her and Angelo’s breakup, but before she can tell him the (awful, life-ruining) reason, Nia Long slinks in to call Lucious “Darling” and get him back into the studio. Snoop Dogg isn’t quite so ready to invest in Inferno Vegas and Lucious tells him black people spend a lot of money in Vegas so it only makes sense. Snoop is only willing to invest if Jamal is part of Inferno the album. There’s gotta be another word Lucious can use for his creative projects.
Cookie shows up to the laundromat where Andre is hiding out, plotting a hit on his father. He doesn’t have access to some nonpublic place to have everyone load way too many guns? Cookie doesn’t think it’s such a smart idea to start a war with Lucious and she also diffuses the situation by being best friends with everyone Andre hired to murder his father. She invites them all to her house for “a comfort meal.” Who wrote this?

Hakeem is walking with Lucious and he says he’s ready to finally have his name listed on Bella’s birth certificate. Okay. How would this work? Suddenly, he’s supposed to claim his half-sister as his daughter and everyone — and by everyone I mean society — will be okay with that? The associated scandal wouldn’t destroy everyone’s careers and possibly reopen cases against the Lyonses? Oh, it does? I can’t wait. When Hakeem and Lucious arrive at Leviticus, the whole place is being emptied out by the fire marshall. Apparently the fire alarm went off and well, well, well, Angelo and his nerds are sitting in the VIP section and smoking cigars. That’s pretty fun. Cookie tells Lucious he shouldn’t do anything to make things worse, so maybe they should fix it. Lucious and Cookie. Maybe they can, like, go get ice cream after and talk about their feelings, too. Whatever, NBD. Lucious is leaving a trail of heartbroken women behind him because Boo Boo Kitty is staying in a hotel since Nia Long has come into the picture.
Hakeems spends 90 percent of the episode on whatever generic version of Instagram Stories exists in this world and the other 10 percent watching Tiana and Tori make out in a hot tub. When did Tiana become involved with Tori? When did this happen? They look VERY into each other and very happy to have threesomes on demand with Hakeem. Who was asking for this development? Where is Eva Longoria?

Cookie holds her comfort-food meeting with Xzibit and her big plan is just to let Lucious go set up in Vegas and take everything from him while his back is turned and he’s distracted with Nia Long. Of all the plans on this show, it’s the least violent and therefore most plausible. Meanwhile, Lucious is meeting with Snoop Dogg in a scene where he says, “It’s official like a referee’s whistle,” which made my boyfriend leave the room. Apparently, Snoop’s financial adviser, Ezekiel DuBois, thinks the deal is a bad idea. Lucious rushes to see Cookie to tell her he’s going to mess Angelo up.

Cookie tries to patch things up with Angelo and offers to make a public statement or throw a fundraiser. Angelo says that she destroyed generations of hard work to put him where he is today. I’m not trying to hate, but you don’t seem to have all that much going on for you, Angelo. Phylicia Rashad comes up and pulls Cookie off Angelo. She warns Cookie that when her family decides to go after someone, Phylicia Rashad will burn everything to the ground. Cookie calls a family meeting to decide what to do about the DuBoises. Jamal decides that he’s going to be the peacemaker in the family and try to make amends. Then Cookie calls her a “fake-ass Claire Huxtable” in a line that truly breaks all logic and sanity left in the show. Jamal manages to make up with Angelo using a $5 million check.

Later, Jamal is in the studio and he just can’t get the final song right. Cookie gives him a pep talk and takes him to hear Lucious’s beat. He sneaks into Lucious’s studio while Lucious is working with America’s pitchiest singer and whisper sings over everything and Lucious is stunned. They decide to collaborate on this song to make Snoop Dogg happy and it’s going on both albums and they’re going to perform together in Vegas. It’s the song that might solve all the world’s problems. (It’s okay.)

Finally, the whole Lyon family sits down for a dinner to wrap up all those loose threads with some papers ex machina from Lucious’s desk. He puts Hakeem on Bella’s birth certificate because he saw his Snapchats, then he serves Boo Boo Kitty divorce papers in return for all of her hard work. Suddenly, Child and Family Services are at the door to take Bella away. One lady in a pantsuit and an actual SWAT team are there. It is the most excessive way to remove a child from a home and it’s utterly unreasonable. Where is Eva Longoria?!

Another day, another Beyonce controversy. Superstar Beyonce was seen during ‘Cinco DeMayo looing cute but for some reason folks are noticing the fullness of her lips. Could she have had them filled with fillers?
Well her folks responded “Why the lip injections?” another follower commented. However, Bey’s rep reportedly quickly fired back at her haters with a statement: “Did you know that in addition to weight gain there is often a dramatic change in the blood flow in the system and increased fluid causing swelling? “Do you know that often women’s gums get swollen? Do you know that it sometimes affects our speech, our ability to chew intently and a host of other things?” her rep said.
However, despite the superstar's discomfort, she still looked like she was going strong during her night out with Rowland.

Former Balch Springs police officer Roy Oliver, 37, turned himself into the Parker County Sheriff’s Office, a spokesman for the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department said Friday evening.

Oliver allegedly fired into a car full of teenagers leaving a party on Saturday night. Jordan Edwards, 15, was shot in the head and later died. Oliver was fired by the police department on Tuesday.

Texas Police Officer Who Shot Young Black Teenager Jordan Edwards has been Fired!

Texas Police Officer Who Shot Teenager Is Fired!
BALCH SPRINGS, Texas (AP) — Police in suburban Dallas fired the officer Tuesday who shot and killed a black 15-year-old boy riding in a vehicle leaving a chaotic house party, taking the swift action sought by the teenager’s family and protesters who link the case to other deaths of African-Americans at the hands of law enforcement.
The Balch Springs, Texas, officer, identified as Roy Oliver, was terminated for violating department policies in the shooting death of Jordan Edwards, police chief Jonathan Haber said.
Edwards, a high school freshman, was leaving the party with his two brothers and two other teenagers Saturday night. Police arrived at the scene to investigate an underage drinking complaint and spotted the vehicle leaving. Oliver opened fire as the teenagers were driving away.

Shots from his rifle pierced the front side passenger window, hitting Edwards in the front seat, according to Edwards’ family attorneys, Lee Merritt and Jasmine Crockett. His 16-year-old brother was driving.
Haber said Oliver, who joined the department in 2011, had committed “several” violations of policy, but wouldn’t say what they were because Oliver is entitled to appeal his firing. The Dallas County district attorney and the Dallas County sheriff’s office are investigating the case. The race of the fired officer was not revealed.

Police originally said the teenagers’ vehicle was reversing “in an aggressive manner” toward officers, but Haber said Monday that video taken at the scene proved the vehicle was actually driving away.
The police department’s latest statement, released Tuesday night, says officers entering the house heard gunshots ring out during a “chaotic scene with numerous people running away from the location.” As officers exited the house, they encountered the vehicle backing out onto a main road and driving away despite their attempts to tell the driver to stop, the new statement said.

The Dallas County medical examiner ruled Edwards’ death a homicide.
Thousands of Facebook and Twitter users have posted about the case in recent days with the hashtag “#jordanedwards,” some comparing his death to other police shootings of young black men, such as 12-year-old Tamir Rice in Cleveland, who was fatally shot in November 2014 as he held a pellet gun.

Edwards’ family had called for the officer to be fired and criminally charged. Both Merritt and Crockett have credited Haber for correcting the mistaken statement and moving quickly to fire Oliver.
“No other city has moved at the rate Balch Springs has,” Crockett told The Associated Press on Tuesday night. “It’s just unbelievable. It’s absolutely unbelievable that a department did what a department should do.”

But a family statement released Tuesday night called for disciplinary action against other officers who “extended this nightmare for those children.”
“Our family is working hard to deal with both the loss of our beloved Jordan and the lingering trauma it has caused our boys,” the family statement said.
Cindy Stormer, an attorney for Oliver, issued a statement saying the shooting was “recent and still being investigated.”

“Everyone should wait until the facts come out and we know more,” she said, according to the Dallas Morning News.
Friends have described Edwards as a good student and popular athlete. Edwards and the four people with him decided to leave what was becoming an unruly party as they heard gunfire and police were arriving, Merritt said, citing what witnesses had told lawyers.

As they drove away from the party, Crockett said, the brother driving the vehicle heard multiple gunshots that were close enough to leave his ears ringing. It took a few moments before the people inside in the car noticed Edwards slumped over, she said. They couldn’t tell if he was already dead.

The brother who was driving pulled over and tried to motion to police for help, she said. Instead, Crockett said, he was detained and handcuffed. Crockett said the driver wasn’t formally arrested, but a separate statement from the family released through Merritt says the two brothers were arrested.
Based on what the video captured, Haber said previously that he questioned whether what he saw was “consistent with the policies and core values” of his department. Haber wouldn’t say what problems he saw, but Balch Springs’ official use-of-force policy encourages officers facing an oncoming vehicle to “attempt to move out of its path, if possible, instead of discharging a firearm at it or any of its occupants.” The video has not been released......YET!

Michael Dunn found GUILTY of 1st-degree murder of Jordan Davis!

Michael Dunn found guilty of 1st-degree murder in loud-music trial
Michael Dunn found guilty of murder in 2012 shooting death of Jordan Davis, 17
Dunn killed Davis after an argument over loud music coming from Davis' friend's SUV
4 counts on which Dunn was convicted in February command at least 60 years in prison
He said he fired 10 shots in self-defense; prosecutors called Dunn aggressor

Jacksonville, Florida -- Jurors found Michael Dunn guilty of first-degree murder Wednesday in the 2012 shooting death 17-year-old Jordan Davis.
Dunn's parents were in the courtroom for the verdict. Davis' parents, Ron Davis and Lucia MacBath, both let out a quiet gasp upon hearing the jury forewoman's words and then hung their heads and cried. Dunn did not appear to have an immediate reaction, but later, he turned around and somberly shook his head toward his father.
Duval County Judge Russell Healey set a tentative sentencing hearing for October 17 but said he would wait until Tuesday to ensure the date worked for Dunn's defense attorneys.
"This has been going on for two years, and everyone has acted graciously. I ask that you continue to do that," Healey said before the verdict was read. "Remember, we must respect the verdict of the jury. They did not volunteer to do this."

Florida 'loud music' case back on trial Jurors speak out on 'loud music' verdict Juror breaks her silence on Dunn trial Juror: Dunn trial wasn't about race
Dunn, 47, was charged with murder after shooting into an SUV full of teenagers at a Jacksonville, Florida, gas station following a squabble over the music emanating from the teens' vehicle.
Dunn has said he shot at the vehicle because he thought Davis had a weapon and feared for his life, but the prosecution has alleged Dunn was the aggressor and pointed out he kept firing even after the teens fled.
Three of the 10 shots that Dunn fired struck Davis, one of them cutting through his liver, a lung and his aorta.
Investigators say Davis never had a weapon, nor was one found in the teens' SUV or the surrounding area.
A jury found Dunn guilty of four charges in February, commanding at least 60 years in prison, but the jury was hung on the murder charge related to Davis' November 2012 death.
Jurors began deliberating on the new charges just before 10 a.m. ET on Wednesday, after Healey dismissed two of the three alternates and provided instructions for the charges jurors were to consider.
The first charge to consider, Healey said, was first-degree murder, which would require that Dunn premeditated killing Davis.
If the jury didn't feel the state proved first-degree murder, it was instructed to move on to second-degree, which would mean Dunn killed Davis via a criminal or depraved act.
The third charge was manslaughter, which would require a finding that Dunn unlawfully caused Davis' death.

Killing Davis was lawful, Healey told the jury, if Dunn acted in the heat of passion or if he unintentionally caused Davis' death. The jury could also find Dunn not guilty if he was in danger, acted in self-defense and exacted a justifiable use of force, the judge instructed.
Dunn was convicted in February on one count of shooting into a vehicle and three counts of attempted second-degree murder -- one each for Davis' friends, Leland Brunson, Tommie Stornes and Tevin Thompson, who were in the Dodge Durango with Davis that day.
The Satellite Beach, Florida, man hasn't been sentenced on those charges, but prosecutor Eric Wolfson said at the time of the conviction that each attempted second-degree murder charge carries a minimum sentence of at least 20 years. There's also a 15-year sentence possible on the conviction for shooting at the teenager's vehicle, Wolfson said.

THANK GOD!!! JUSTICE WAS FINALLY SERVED!

EXCLUSIVE: One of The Jordan Davis JURORS Speaks Out!

EXCLUSIVE: One of The Jordan Davis JURORS Speaks Out!
On Nightline..."Valerie", one of the jurors from the Jordan Davis trial, spoke to Nightline, revealing that the group knew within the first hour that they would be unable to reach a unanimous decision.  For the first vote, it ended up being 9 in favor of a guilty verdict, and 3 in favor of a not guilty verdict.  In a second vote after over nearly 30 hours of deliberations, the vote became 9-3.
"It said if he believed that he had an eminent threat to himself or his fiancee, so that was a thing that those two folks believed – he was frightened and there was no other option for him in regards to Mr. Davis. The rest of us were 100 percent sure, you didn't have to react [with gunfire], you could have had another option.

"We looked at a lot of evidence – and myself, it was where the gunshots were, the
timing. Could he have had other options? To me, [the shooting] was unnecessary."

WATCH:

She also said she hopes Jordan's parents do not feel they did a complete disservice in justice with this case, as Michael Dunn was convicted of attempted murder of the others in the car, and other charges.
