#RHOA: Kelli Ferrell’s Husband Jailed Over Child Support After Phaedra Parks Takes On Case
On Monday, December 22, a hearing was held as part of Kelli’s lawsuit against Mark over the unpaid support obligations. (Kelli and Mark, who were married from 2011 to 2022, share three minor kids: Chance, born in 2012, and twins Chasiti and Chelsi, born in 2015.)
At the hearing, the judge determined that Mark was in contempt of court for being in arrears to the tune of $61,992. The judge found that Mark’s failure to pay was willful.
The court ordered Mark to be taken into custody until he pays $31,000 of the debt. Following his release, Mark was instructed to pay $1,000 per month to Kelli until the rest of the balance is paid off. In addition, he was ordered to continue paying his $3,991 per month in child support.
Mark’s rep said that their client had “identified and offered immediate access to $74,000 in escrowed funds from the sale of his home to satisfy the obligation in full. [Mark] has never refused to pay child support.”
The rep continued, “On the contrary, he has made repeated, documented efforts to do so. On two separate occasions, Mr. Ferrell submitted partial child support payments in good faith. In both instances, Kelli and her attorneys rejected the payments and returned the funds, explicitly stating that no payments would be accepted unless the full amount was paid at once.”
Mark’s spokesperson said he offered Kelli the $74,000 from the sale of a home that is being held in escrow at the court. A hearing was set to resolve the issue of the funds in the escrow account.
“Despite a January 8 hearing already scheduled specifically to resolve the escrow issue, the court ordered [Mark’s] immediate incarceration — three days before Christmas,” the rep said. “Notably, during the proceedings, Kelli Ferrell declined to explain why her legal team has repeatedly refused to cooperate in releasing the escrowed funds, even as she testified to financial hardship and need.”
“Today, a father sits in jail — not because he refused to support his children, but because the path to payment was blocked,” the rep concluded.
As Us first reported, Kelli and Mark have been going back and forth in court ever since their split.
On October 2, Kelli hired her costar Parks, 52, to file a lawsuit against Mark for attempting to block their children from filming RHOA.
“As a mother, my children are a significant portion of my story line. As such, I consented to their participation in The Real Housewives of Atlanta season 17,” Kelli explained in court docs.
At the time, Mark’s lawyer Latoya Francis-Williams told Us, “And as their father, he has every right to protect their privacy and emotional well-being.”
On December 9, Mark filed a lawsuit against Kelli, claiming she had refused to allow him to exercise his visitation with their kids.
Kelli’s rep told Us, “Kelli finds the claims in her ex’s recent filing both surprising and inaccurate. At no point has she prevented him from seeing their children, and she has consistently complied with court orders while prioritizing their best interests.”

‘Harlequin’ is made up of Gaga’s covers of jazz standards such as ‘Get Happy’, ‘Oh When The Saints’, ‘That’s Entertainment’, ‘Smile’ and ‘That’s Life’, with the entire project inspired by the musical interludes in Todd Phillips’ film, in which Gaga played Harley Quinn.
‘Lady Gaga in Harlequin Live – One Night Only’ received a premiere at the Grammy Museum this week, and now the 51-minute film has been posted to Gaga’s official YouTube account, and you can watch the whole thing here:

It’s kind of a rebellious project. And, by Harlequin standards, Christmas is the perfect time to release something rebellious.”
The ‘Harlequin’ album went on to be nominated for Best Traditional Pop Album at the 2026 Grammys, while Gaga’s more recent studio album ‘Mayhem’ picked up a further seven nominations.
Gaga headlined Coachella 2025 but did not play any of the tracks from ‘Harlequin’, prompting some fans to complain on social media. The singer herself responded to one comment, describing ‘Harlequin’ as “one of my proudest pieces of production”.
NME also gave Joker: Folie à Deux a four-star review, saying that Gaga “shines in a provocative prison musical” and: “[director Todd] Phillips and [co-writer Scott] Silver have delivered the last thing anyone expected: a socially responsible Joker movie that finds an intriguing way to explore the consequences (both on and offscreen) of the first film. Joker fans shouldn’t cry too hard though – Warner Bros. have cleverly found a way to leave the door open a little for the franchise to continue, should the need arise.“
Others were not so complimentary about the film, and Gaga has since said that the negative reaction made her “laugh” because it was “just getting so unhinged”.
‘Mayhem’, meanwhile, was released in March and earned four stars from NME. “There’s a nonchalant confidence in the way Gaga sticks to her maximalist vision without pandering to contemporary pop trends,” the review read. “Most ‘Mayhem’ tracks run close to or over four minutes, making them mini-epics in the TikTok era.”
“Ultimately, ‘Mayhem’ feels like a great Gaga album because it’s just so much fun. At times, it’s a bit like reconnecting with an old friend who makes sense even when they seem to be chatting nonsense. Seventeen years after she broke through with ‘Just Dance’, Lady Gaga remains pop’s foremost agent of impeccably crafted chaos.”
The record landed at number 19 on NME’s list of the best albums of 2025, while ‘Abracadabra’ was named the number 20 song of 2025.

#HipHopNews: 21 Savage Extends No. 1 Streak On Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart
21 Savage banks his fifth overall – and consecutive – No. 1 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart as What Happened to the Streets? starts atop the list dated Dec. 27. The set, on Slaughter Gang/Epic Records, earned 73,000 equivalent album units in the United States for the Dec. 12-18 tracking week, according to Luminate.
What Happened to the Streets? was a semi-surprise from 21 Savage, with its official announcement on Dec. 8, four days before its release. Its track list contains features from major hip-hop stars including familiar collaborators Drake, Lil Baby and Metro Boomin as well as G Herbo, GloRilla and Latto.
Of the first-week total for What Happened to the Streets?, streaming activity contributed 48,000 units, representing 65.8 million official on-demand audio and video streams of the album’s songs. 25,000 units came from traditional album sales, while a negligible amount of track-equivalent album units. (One unit equals the following levels of consumption: one album sale, 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 1,250 paid/subscription tier or 3,750 ad-supported tier of official on-demand audio and video streams for a song on the album.)
With his new album, 21 Savage achieves his fifth No. 1 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, encompassing his last five appearances on the list for a streak-extending stretch. He first ruled with I Am > I Was, a two-week leader in January 2019, returned to the summit via collaborative projects with Metro Boomin (Savage Mode II, a one-week leader in October 2020) and Drake (Her Loss – four weeks on top in November – December 2022), and logged the three-week solo champ American Dream in January-February 2024.
Elsewhere, What Happened to the Streets? arrives as 21 Savage’s sixth No. 1 on the Top Rap Albums chart and at No. 3 on the all-genre Billboard 200.
In addition to the album’s win, 13 of its tracks crash onto the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, led by the Drake teamup “Mr Recoup” at No. 4. Its entrance secures 21 Savage’s 37th top 10 on the ranking, while Drake extends his all-time record to 143 in the top tier.
Diddy Seeks Immediate Release From Prison In Appeals Argument
Lawyers for hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs urged a federal appeals court in New York late Tuesday (Dec. 23) to order his immediate release from prison and reverse his conviction on prostitution-related charges or direct his trial judge to lighten his four-year sentence.
The lawyers said in a filing with the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan that Combs was treated harshly at sentencing by a federal judge who let evidence surrounding charges he was acquitted of unjustly influence the punishment.
Combs, 56, incarcerated at a federal prison in New Jersey and scheduled for release in May 2028, was acquitted of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking at a trial that ended in July. Combs was convicted under the Mann Act, which bans transporting people across state lines for any sexual crime.
Lawyers for Combs said Judge Arun Subramanian acted like a “thirteenth juror” in October when he sentenced Combs to four years and two months in prison. They said he erred by letting evidence surrounding the acquitted charges influence the sentence he imposed.
They noted that Combs was convicted of two lesser counts, prostitution offenses that didn’t require force, fraud, or coercion. They asked the appeals court, which has not yet heard oral arguments, to acquit Combs, order his immediate release from prison or direct Subramanian to reduce his sentence.
“Defendants typically get sentenced to less than 15 months for these offenses — even when coercion, which the jury didn’t find here, is involved,” the lawyers wrote.
“The judge defied the jury’s verdict and found Combs ‘coerced,’ ‘exploited,’ and ‘forced’ his girlfriends to have sex and led a criminal conspiracy. These judicial findings trumped the verdict and led to the highest sentence ever imposed for any remotely similar defendant,” the lawyers wrote.
At sentencing, Subramanian said that when calculating the prison term, he considered Combs’ treatment of two former girlfriends who testified that the Bad Boy Records founder beat them and coerced them into having sex with male sex workers while he watched and filmed the encounters, sometimes masturbating.
At the trial, former girlfriend Casandra “Cassie” Ventura testified that Combs ordered her to have “disgusting” sex with strangers hundreds of times during their decade-long relationship that ended in 2018. Jurors saw video of him dragging and beating her in a Los Angeles hotel hallway after one such multiday “freak-off.”
The second former girlfriend, who testified under the pseudonym “ Jane,” said she was pressured into sex with male workers during what Combs called “hotel nights,” drug-fueled sexual encounters from 2021 to 2024 that also could last days.
At sentencing, Subramanian said he “rejects the defense’s attempt to characterize what happened here as merely intimate, consensual experiences, or just a sex, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll story.”
He added: “You abused the power and control that you had over the lives of women you professed to love dearly. You abused them physically, emotionally, and psychologically. And you used that abuse to get your way, especially when it came to freak-offs and hotel nights.”

NYC Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani to be sworn in by Letitia James, Bernie Sanders
New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani will be sworn in by two prominent Democrats on New Year's Day.
New York Attorney General Letitia James will deliver the oath of office to Mamdani at midnight on Jan. 1, joined by Mamdani's family.
"It's an honor to swear in Zohran alongside his family," James said. "He ran a campaign that brought together New Yorkers around the universal idea that we should all be able to afford to live in our city. I look forward to working with him and his administration to deliver on that vision as we keep all New Yorkers safe."
Sen. Bernie Sanders will then give the oath of office at Mamdani's public swearing-in ceremony, which starts at 1 p.m. on New Year's Day and takes place at City Hall. CBS News New York will stream the ceremony live.

Dubbed the "Inauguration of a New Era," it will take place in the Canyon of Heroes, from Liberty Street to Murray Street -- a historical stretch along Broadway in Lower Manhattan. The route is famous for ticker-tape parades that have honored athletes, astronauts, politicians and New York heroes.
The celebration will include music, performances and interfaith elements, Mamdani's transition team said.
At a news conference on Monday, Mamdani told reporters security will be tight at City Hall Plaza and along the block party route.
"We're already so heartened with the response from New Yorkers who understand it's not my success, it's our success. It's not my administration, it's our administration. Similarly, it's not my inauguration, it's for all of us," Mamdani said.
Mamdani's team anticipate tens of thousands of people will be able to attend the block party. Anyone interested in attending has to RSVP online first.

Serena Williams spared no expense when it came to her sister, Venus's second wedding to Andrea Preti.
The multiple Olympian and Grand Slam winner married her husband during a five-day celebration at their Palm Beach home, three months after their first wedding in Italy.
Venus revealed that they "didn't have enough time to do the paperwork" in Italy, so they "decided to have a second wedding" in Florida instead to make their marriage official.
One wedding gift the newlyweds won't forget is the incredibly generous one given to them by Serena – a luxury yacht.
"Serena gave us this gift of a beautiful yacht, and she arranged all the food, everything," Venus told Vogue, although it's unclear whether the yacht is a permanent gift or was just a rental for the wedding.
"We had 10 to 12 of our closest family and friends who were in town on the boat," she added. "We were singing, dancing, gossiping, and just enjoying each other."
Following the nuptials, Serena paid a touching tribute to her sister, sharing stunning photos of the bridal party, all decked out in white, on Instagram.
"My sister's keeper. Venus, where do I even begin? From the backyard courts to the biggest stages in the world, you've always led with grace, strength, and a heart bigger than any trophy," Serena began.

By the time Austin and Chilli's relationship was over, the singer notified Austin that she'd been doing a music video with Usher, although he didn't specify if it was "U Remind Me" or "U Got It Bad."
"I was like, 'You should go do it.' And she's like, 'See, you just don't care. You just throw me out to the woods and everything,'" Austin recalled.
Austin added that he and Usher were "tight" before his relationship with Chilli and have become friendly in the years since.

Craig Mack’s Ex-Wife Claims Rapper Was Deliberately Infected with HIV
*The former spouse of Craig Mack has come forward with allegations that the deceased rapper’s HIV infection was no accident.
Roxanne Alexis Hill-Johnson, who shares two children with the late artist, expressed her conviction that Mack’s contraction of AIDS resulted from intentional harm. During a conversation with The Art of Dialogue, Hill-Johnson revealed that she learned about his AIDS diagnosis two weeks before his death.
“The kids knew he had been sick, but no one told them what was wrong,” Hill-Johnson said, adding that the coroner informed her that the “Flava In Ya Ear” rapper was probably sick for a decade. She explained that Mack went “unmedicated, all those years. Why? I don’t know. So, if you do the math, that puts him back in New York when he got sick.”
“I believe him getting sick was something that was intentional,” Hill-Johnson explained in the clip above. “Craig was a very heterosexual man. He liked women. He liked the company of women. So when people were saying, ‘Oh, he was gay.’ He wasn’t gay. Someone got to him.”
She also recalled an incident where Mack advised a fellow male artist to exercise caution within the music business, alerting him that someone might try to “poison” him with an STI (sexually transmitted infection).
