#RHOA: Kim Zolciak denies husband’s claim she violated court order by going on Andy Cohen show
The divorce between Kim Zolciak and soon-to-be ex-husband Kroy Biermann is getting more and more bitter by the day.
In recent court filings between the two, Zolciak denies accusations by Biermann that she violated a court order when she talked about the divorce and her relationship with her new boyfriend with Bravo TV host Andy Cohen on an episode of his show, “Watch What Happens Live!”
“She discussed the divorce, referenced the children, shared the news of her new boyfriend, and beamed over her brand new gorgeous $1 million home,” Bierman said in his filing in October.
Biermann also went after Zolciak after an appearance on “Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour.”
“Approximately two days after this court restrained the parties from discussing the divorce, Respondent made her appearance on ‘Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour.’ Respondent’s lack of ability to understand or provide for the best interests of the children border on unbelievable.
“Petitioner incorporates his previously filed Motion for Immediate Change in Custody by reference. Respondent’s contemptuous behavior is a direct harm to the children and their well-being,” the court document said.
Zolciak also denied she did anything wrong, saying, “It is extremely telling that despite [Biermann’s] constant claims [Zolciak] is acting contrary to the best interests of the children … at no point has the appointed guardian … indicated support for [Biermann’s] claims, or that this honorable Court should hold a hearing to address such claims.”
Zolciak is also demanding that Biermann cover the legal fees over the contempt claims.
Biermann also accused Zolciak of failing to turn over financial documents he requested by a March 31 deadline.
All this comes after Zolciak accused Biermann of stalking over the summer.
The couple has been involved in a bitter divorce for years now, with them filing for divorce at least three times before deciding to go through with the process.
The couple were married in 2011 and first filed for divorce in May 2023, but was then called off shortly after. The couple filed for divorce again in August 2023, saying the marriage was “irrevocably broken.”
In June, we reported the two were forced out of their Milton mansion. Deputy marshals visited the couple’s home in April to remove them and their property.
Court documents show four marshals spent just over three hours at the home. The document showed the status as “ejected.”
The couple’s home was sold earlier this year after it was foreclosed on. Its price had been reduced several times, and the home had been scheduled for auction.

#MusicNews: Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ Notches Record-Tying 19th Week At No. 1 On Billboard Hot 100

Mariah Carey‘s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” jingles all the way back to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, jumping four spots for a record-tying 19th total week atop the chart. It matches the reigns of two hits that led over one release cycle each — Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” in 2024, and Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road,” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, in 2019 — for the longest command over the chart’s 67-year history.
The carol rules the Hot 100 in a record-extending seventh holiday season. It was originally released on Carey’s album Merry Christmas in November 1994 and, as streaming has grown and holiday music has become more prominent on streaming services’ playlists, it hit the top 10 for the first time in December 2017 and the top five for the first time in the 2018 holiday season. It led at last, prior to this week, over the holidays in 2019 (for three weeks), 2020 (two), 2021 (three), 2022 (four), 2023 (two) and 2024 (four).
“When I wrote [it], I had absolutely no idea the impact the song would eventually have worldwide,” Carey marveled in 2021. “I’m so full of gratitude that so many people enjoy it with me every year.”
“All I Want for Christmas Is You” became Carey’s 19th Hot 100 No. 1, the most among soloists and one away from the Beatles’ overall record 20. It also made Carey the first artist to have ranked at No. 1 on the chart in four distinct decades (1990s, 2000s, ‘10s and ‘20s).
Holiday hits decorate seven of the Hot 100’s top 10 spots, including the top four. Most notably, Wham!’s “Last Christmas” dashes 6-2, as the 1984 single hits a new high.

#HipHopNews: Snoop Dogg Threatens To ‘F*ck’ Daz Dillinger Up Over Death Row Claims
Snoop Dogg and Daz Dillinger‘s tense relationship has taken yet another twist, with Tha Doggfather warning his cousin and longtime collaborator that he will “fuck him up” — financially, speaking.
The latest spat was sparked by recent comments made by Daz, who claimed that Snoop blocked him from producing songs on Tha Dogg Pound‘s 2024 album W.A.W.G. (We All We Got) — which was released through the Snoop-owned Death Row Records — for his own personal financial gain.
“Snoop didn’t want me to produce anything on that album because he had a deal with all the producers where he got half of what he gave them,” he said in a video posted to his Instagram Stories.
“[Snoop was like] ‘I don’t want Daz producing this, I just want him to be an artist.’ That’s what he wanted me to be on Death Row. He wanted to do a solo album [with me on it] but he didn’t want me to produce it. I mean, God damn! Death Row records stole from me!”
Daz continued to air out his grievances in an interview clip uploaded to his YouTube channel, accusing Snoop Dogg of trying to trademark his intellectual property and sell it as part of an alleged 10-figure deal involving the rights to Death Row’s catalog.
“The paw is trademarked,” he said, referencing Tha Dogg Pound’s pawprint logo. “Like I told Snoop, you gotta reject it and I gotta accept it. That was the money maker. The paw is like the Apple sign.
“They tried to go behind my back and trademark all my work and then flaunt it in my face like, ‘Yeah, n-gga. We got it, n-gga. That’s all we wanted ’cause I’m finna sell everything for a billion dollars to Universal.’ But shit, don’t be selling my shit.”
Daz continued: “The muthafucka’s cashing n-ggas out for their catalog … He said, ‘I’ma give everybody back their publishing.’ You lied. You ain’t paid nobody since [you bought Death Row]. You trying to starve n-ggas out, but you can’t starve me out. I just want what’s mine.”
After catching wind of his cousin’s explosive claims, Snoop Dogg barked back in a video posted to social media.
“I see you ain’t got shit to do but hate on me, huh?” he snapped. “In a minute I’ma fuck you up, cuz! On some real shit. Not physically, but business wise. ‘Cause you broke as a muthafucka right now so I’m a fuck you up in a minute, cuz. Leave me alone. Leave me the fuck alone!”
Daz Dillinger responded on Instagram, writing: “HE MAD NOW …NOW HE WANNA FUC ME UP BIZNIZ WISE BY TRYNA STEAL EVERYTHING I OWN THAT WAS ON DEATHROW. BY FORGED SIGNITURE & NOT PAYING ROYALTIES SINCE HE HAD THE LABEL USING OUR ROYALTIES TO PAY HIS STAFF. THEY MAKIN MORE THEN THE ARTIST.

US Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett enters Democratic primary for U.S. Senate

U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Dallas, on Monday filed to run for U.S. Senate, scrambling the Democratic field after teasing her potential entry for months.
Crockett, a second-term congresswoman, has skyrocketed to fame through viral spats with Republicans and as a frequent presence in the Democratic media ecosystem. The 44-year-old’s fiery clashes with Republicans have earned her legions of social media followers and donors, turning her into one of the party’s most prolific fundraisers even as she has been passed up for multiple House leadership roles.
“There are a lot of people that said, you’ve got to stay in the House — we need our voice, we need you there,” Crockett said at a Monday campaign launch event in Dallas. “And I understand. But what we need is for me to have a bigger voice. What we need is not only a voice, but we need to make sure that we are going to stop all the hell that is raining down on all of our people.”
Crockett is joining a field that already includes Austin state Rep. James Talarico, also known as a strong communicator and for his progressive brand of Christianity. But her path was made easier by fellow Dallasite Colin Allred’s decision to exit the Senate race, which he announced early Monday morning. Both Allred, the 2024 Democratic nominee, and Talarico had been running for months, with Allred launching his campaign in July, followed by Talarico in September. The primary is March 3.
But as Crockett began to move closer to a bid, she called both Allred and Talarico to discuss her internal polling of the race, and the prospect of forming a slate. That did not pan out; a similar effort to divide up the marquee statewide offices over the summer also failed, with too many candidates drawn to the Senate race over other contests such as governor and attorney general.
Crockett formally announced her Senate campaign at an event late Monday afternoon, where she was introduced by a succession of local officials and other supporters, including a rapper who performed a verse about her.
More than 200 people, including some Dallas-area elected officials and candidates, sat or stood in a roomy gymnasium situated in Crockett’s southern Dallas district, a predominantly Black and Hispanic part of the state’s third-largest city.
Despite joining the field late, Crockett poses a clear threat to Talarico, having outperformed him in public polling of the Democratic electorate this fall. She had $4.6 million in cash on hand at last count.
In a statement, Talarico welcomed Crockett to the race while insisting that his campaign remained well-positioned to win.
“We’re building a movement in Texas — fueled by record-breaking grassroots fundraising and 10,000 volunteers who are putting in the work to defeat the billionaire mega-donors and puppet politicians who have taken over our state,” Talarico said. “Our movement is rooted in unity over division — so we welcome Congresswoman Crockett into this race.”
Crockett had discussed the possibility of a Senate bid in recent weeks, especially after Republicans’ mid-decade redistricting changed the contours of her Dallas-based district. In an October interview on SiriusXM, she said she was testing whether her candidacy could expand the Texas electorate by incentivizing infrequent voters to turn out.
In a November interview with Politico, Crockett said she would only run for Senate if the data from her internal campaign polling showed that she could win a general election.
More recently, she has said her internal polling has shown she can win a general election. Crockett also publicly discussed her desire to form a winning slate of Democratic candidates for statewide offices. While the Senate candidates ultimately did not work out a statewide slate, Allred’s exit leaves only two high-profile candidates vying for the nomination, lowering the chances of a May runoff.
So far, no public poll has shown Crockett winning a general election against Sen. John Cornyn, Attorney General Ken Paxton or Rep. Wesley Hunt of Houston, each of whom are running for the GOP nomination.
In her speech Monday, Crockett addressed the Democratic handwringing about her viability in a general election, underlining that nobody from her party has won a statewide election in Texas this century. If anyone had a “blueprint” or “recipe,” she argued, “they would have already won.”
The path to victory, Crockett said, was to improve Texas’ chronically low voter turnout by energizing Texans who feel their vote does not matter.
“There are those that say, ‘Ain’t no way; we done tried it 50 kinds of ways,'” Crockett said. “Let me be clear. Y’all ain’t never tried it the J.C. way.”
For some attendees, Crockett and her confrontational and assertive style presents an opportunity to try out a different approach after decades of defeat for Democrats.
“People get nervous because we’re not used to seeing Democrats be bolder in that way, but I think this is a time where we need that,” said Sophia Anwar, a former Texas House staffer running for justice of the peace in Denton County. “We have tried being cordial. Sometimes you have to hit bullies by speaking louder.”
For Nicole Booker, a Dallas real estate agent, there’s hope that Democratic anger toward Trump in his second term — paired with outrage over Texas’ redrawn congressional maps — will fuel turnout that finally flips the state blue. As a Black woman, potentially electing the first Black woman to represent Texas in the U.S. Senate is exciting and overdue, Booker said.
“I have three adult children and seven grandchildren,” Booker said while waiting in line to meet Crockett. “My grandchildren need to see this.”
A lawyer and former public defender, Crockett first entered politics in 2020, when she won a seat in the Texas House of Representatives. After serving one term in the Legislature, she made the jump to Congress in 2022, when she ran for Dallas Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson’s seat after the longtime Democratic congresswoman announced her retirement and subsequently endorsed Crockett.
Her quick-witted, alliterative communication style has earned her viral fame, including when she first rose to national prominence after saying Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Georgia, had a “bleach blonde, bad built, butch body,” a phrase that quickly popped up on Crockett’s campaign merchandise. Her comments have also landed her in hot water at times, such as when she referred to Gov. Greg Abbott, who uses a wheelchair, as “Governor Hot Wheels.”
Crockett has also been a regular target of President Donald Trump, who disparages her more often than nearly any other House Democrat, further heightening her profile.
In her speech, Crockett said she would be the candidate best positioned to stand up to Trump on issues including tariffs, rural health care, gun violence and affordability. And she noted she is the only candidate, presumably on the Democratic side, to have served at the federal level and taken on Trump in Washington.
Crockett had harsh words for Cornyn, though she joked about being his “buddy and dancing partner”, a reference the Paxton campaign has capitalized on. She attacked Cornyn for the length of his political career, saying he capitulates to Trump and serves the top 1% of earners.
“Cornyn used to actually try and help Texas,” Crockett said. “He used to speak out against Trump the candidate and denounce the border wall. What happened, Big John? Because now, all you’re doing is bending the knee, kissing the ring, and running ads about how you vote 99% of the time with Trump.”
Republicans in Texas and Washington have made little secret of their preference for Crockett, convinced she would be a weak general election candidate — though each Republican campaign filtered the news through the strength of their own candidate.
The National Republican Senatorial Committee, the Senate GOP’s campaign arm and a Cornyn backer, has been needling Crockett for months, including putting out a poll of the Democratic primary in July that had her leading.
“Jasmine Crockett leading her primary is the latest sign that the Democrat Party is being run by radical leftists,” NRSC spokesperson Joanna Rodriguez said in a statement Monday. “Crockett said herself no Texas Democrat is beating John Cornyn, and the threat of her in the U.S. Senate makes it clearer now than ever that Cornyn is the only conservative who will keep Texas red and safeguard President Trump’s Senate Majority.”
Cornyn said in a statement that Crockett is “radical, theatrical and ineffective” and argued that his campaign is best positioned to help other Republicans capitalize on her presence in the race.
“As the GOP nominee for U.S. Senate, our campaign will make sure every Texas voter knows how absurd her candidacy is, and in the process provide up-ballot support to down-ballot Republicans, including the five new Congressional seats that President Trump has made a priority,” Cornyn said.
Paxton turned her entry into the race into an attack on Cornyn, saying on X that “everyone knows Crockett will be soundly defeated” and that the national GOP’s continued spending to boost Cornyn in the Republican primary would be better used in more competitive states.
In a statement, the Paxton campaign pointed out that Cornyn called Crockett his legislative “dance partner” in early 2024. And the attorney general predicted the Dallas congresswoman would lose by “double digits” next year.
Texas’ 2026 U.S. Senate race has attracted widespread interest from ambitious Democrats, even though the state has not elected a Democrat to the upper chamber since 1988. The party is optimistic about the combination of a midterm election while Trump is president — which produced Democrats’ closest statewide margin in decades in 2018 — and the prospect of facing Paxton, a Republican candidate with legal and ethical baggage.
Crockett has said as much, previously telling Politico she did not think any Democrat would be able to take out Cornyn, the incumbent, if he weathers his competitive primary.
But on Monday, she trained most of her ire on Cornyn and Trump, neglecting to mention Paxton or Hunt.
Crockett’s entry into the Senate race also somewhat resolves a redistricting dilemma among Democrats in North Texas. Republicans redrew the congressional map over the summer to shrink the number of blue-leaning seats in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex from three to two, meaning at least one of the region’s Democrats would be out of Congress come 2027.
But with Crockett running for Senate, the path is now clear for Reps. Julie Johnson, D-Farmers Branch, and Marc Veasey, D-Fort Worth, to run as incumbents without facing one another.
However, Allred has filed to run in the 33rd Congressional District, pitting him against Johnson — his successor in Congress in the Democratic primary for the Dallas-based House district. And Veasey decided to run for Tarrant County judge, leaving Crockett’s old district open. Crockett’s pastor, Frederick Haynes III, who introduced her at Monday’s event, filed to succeed her.

U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Dallas, on Monday filed to run for U.S. Senate, scrambling the Democratic field after teasing her potential entry for months.

Jimmy Kimmel extends contract with ABC, will host late-night show through May 2027
Jimmy Kimmel has renewed his contract with Disney-owned ABC to continue hosting “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” for another year.
A source familiar with the deal told CNN that Kimmel has signed a one-year extension to take his late-night show through May 2027.
“I am pleased to announce another no-talent year!” Kimmel said in an Instagram post on Monday night.
Kimmel was caught in the middle of the country’s political divide earlier this year, when ABC executives temporarily yanked his show off the air in the fall after his comments during a monologue about Charlie Kirk’s suspected killer.
But CNN had reported that Disney was always “hopeful” to bring to show back, citing Kimmel’s close relationship with many key executives at the company.
Kimmel, who at times has been a lightning rod for ABC given his unfiltered stance on President Donald Trump, has a beloved reputation in the industry as the sole late-night comedian to host a show in Los Angeles, where he is friendly with many celebrity guests who frequently visit his show. When his show was temporarily pulled, Hollywood rallied around Kimmel and boycotted Disney.
Kimmel’s current contract is up at the end of the season running him through May 2026. For years, Kimmel has contended with whether to continue his show, making public comments over the years about when he might call it quits.
Kimmel is marquee talent for Disney, with a decades-long relationship as the face of ABC. Aside from hosting “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” he has also hosted the Oscars numerous times and recently won an Emmy for hosting the network’s “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?”

Miss Jamaica suffered intracranial hemorrhage after fall

Dr. Gabrielle Henry suffered an intracranial hemorrhage when she fell from the stage as Miss Jamaica during preliminary competition of the Miss Universe pageant last month.
The Miss Universe Organization gave an update Monday in a news release, saying she suffered loss of consciousness, a fracture, facial lacerations "and other significant injuries" on Nov. 19.
That day, Miss Universe Jamaica posted on Facebook she was "not suffering any life-threatening injuries; however they continue to conduct tests to ensure her full recovery."
The 28-year-old physician was caught on video in the fall while wearing a long, flowing orange dress on Nov. 19. She was admitted in intensive care at a hospital Bangkok, according the the release.
"Certain media reports suggesting that Dr. Henry contributed in any way to the incident are entirely inaccurate," the organization said. "The Miss Universe Organization has never attributed blame to Dr. Henry and confirms that those suggestions are unfounded and do not reflect the facts."
Henry has remained in critical condition under neurological monitoring and requires 24-hour specialist supervision, the organization said.
"From the time the incident took place, the Miss Universe Organization has stood beside Gabrielle and her family as if she were their own, assuming full and immediate responsibility without hesitation," the release read.
In a few days, Henry will return to Jamaica with a full medical escort team and transferred directly to a hospital in her home country for continued treatment and recovery, the organization said.
The organization has covered all hospital, medical and rehabilitation expenses in Thailand, as well as the accommodation and living costs for her mother and sister.
The organization also said it's paying for Henry's medically escorted flight home to Jamaica and has committed to covering all future medical expenses from this incident.
"The Henry family is deeply grateful to the Miss Universe Organization for their unwavering compassion, presence and love shown," the release said. "Their response so far has gone beyond professional responsibility and reflected devotion and protection of the family."
The release ended: "Dr. Henry and her family extend their heartfelt thanks to the people of Jamaica, the Miss Universe community, and supporters worldwide for the overwhelming outpouring of love, prayers, and encouragement."
In early November, Miss Universe Thailand director Nawat Itsaragrisil called her "stupid" during a livestreamed speech to contestants on Nov. 4. Several contestants walked out after the comments.
The pageant has been marred by other controversies: Jakkaphong "Anne" Jakrajutatip of Thailandout as CEO, financial instability, accusations of rigged judging and resignations by two of them, and protests by several contestants.
The co-owners of the Miss Universe Organization are facing charges: Jakkaphong with failing to appear at a hearing involving fraud and Rocha Cantu of Mexico on accusations that include drug and fuel trafficking.
Thai police investigated allegations that event publicity included illegal promotion of online casinos.
Brigitta Schaback, who represented Estonia, announced that she was stepping down from her title.
The next day, Olivia Yace, who was the pageant's fourth runner-up as Miss African and Oceania, also resigned. She added that she was also removing herself from "any future affiliation with the Miss Universe Committee."
Days before the pageant began on Nov. 2, Mario Bucaro of Guatemala succeeded Jakrajutatip, who resigned from the position on June 20.

Mike Tyson announces he will Fight Floyd Mayweather: “It will break all records”
Mike Tyson has provided a major update on his proposed fight with Floyd Mayweather.
It was announced in September that the two boxing legends were set to meet in an exhibition, but any details regarding the bout have been limited since then.
‘Iron Mike’ last competed in November 2024 when he took part in a controversial clash with YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul. It was Tyson’s first professional contest for nearly 20 years, and resulted in him suffering a unanimous decision defeat to ‘The Problem Child.’
As for Mayweather, he has been involved in a number of exhibitions over the years since he retired from professional boxing with a perfect 50-0 record back in 2017, taking on the likes of Logan Paul, Aaron Chalmers and John Gotti III in non-scored bouts.
Mayweather has also recently been linked to a rematch with Manny Pacquiao, 10 years on from their battle in May 2015, leading some to believe that the fight with Tyson may no longer be happening.
Tyson has now insisted it will still go ahead though, as the heavyweight legend has revealed during an on-stage interview that the date and location for the showdown has been decided.
“It’s going to be in March and it’s going to be in Africa. This is going to be incredible. We’re going to break all the records. It’s going to be one of the biggest events in the history of the sport.”
Tyson is now 59 while Mayweather is 48, but despite their advancing ages, it would still likely be a huge spectacle if it does indeed go ahead.

Person of interest in shooting of New York Jets CB Kris Boyd taken into custody
A person connected to last month's shooting of New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd was taken into custody in Buffalo, law enforcement sources said Monday.
The U.S. Marshals Service and the New York Police Department were involved in apprehending a "person of interest," three sources familiar with the matter told NBC News.
Boyd was critically wounded early Nov. 16 near Seventh Avenue and West 38th Street, officials had said.
A few days after he was shot in the abdomen, Boyd posted on social media from his hospital bed saying he was "coming along."
Boyd had logged time with the Minnesota Vikings, the Houston Texans and the Arizona Cardinals before he signed with the Jets this season. But he has spent this entire campaign on the injured reserve list because of a shoulder injury.
He made a surprise visit to the team's training facility last week in Florham Park, New Jersey.

Smokey Robinson Lawsuit Takes Shocking Turn—Court Demands Accusers’ Phones After Alleged Evidence Tampering

The lawsuit against Smokey Robinson has reached a critical turning point now that a judge has ordered the accusers to surrender their cell phones.
This ruling came after Robinson’s legal team expressed serious concerns that the plaintiffs were withholding or deleting important information. Court documents obtained by TMZ show that the defense argued the accusers had avoided complying with multiple requests for their phone records.
According to Robinson’s attorneys, the plaintiffs identified as several Jane Does were served with formal discovery demands but repeatedly failed to cooperate. On Wednesday, Robinson asked the court to step in. By Friday, December 5, the judge agreed and issued a direct order requiring the accusers to turn over their devices within ten days. The ruling grants the defense access to messages, call logs, and other phone data that could influence the case or reveal how the allegations were coordinated.
Robinson has denied all accusations from the beginning, and his legal team welcomed the judge’s decision. Attorney Christopher Frost released a statement responding to the ruling.
“We are pleased with the Court’s ruling,” Frost told TMZ. “Plaintiffs’ motives have been clear all along. File a vile and salacious complaint and then bring these plaintiffs out a handful at a time so it looks like there are new and independent allegations, when the truth is that these people all worked together to contrive this lawsuit.”
Frost also criticized the plaintiffs for staying anonymous while resisting discovery.
“They are now keeping the public in the dark about the truth by hiding behind a confidentiality order and refusing to produce any documents at all,” he said. “We know the types of communications these plaintiffs had with our clients prior to deciding to sue them, so we are pleased to finally be able to access information that will help the court, a jury, and the public know the truth.”
The lawsuit was originally filed in May by four Jane Does who claimed they worked as housekeepers for Robinson and his wife, Frances Gladney Robinson. Additional accusers later sought to join the case, including a male plaintiff identified as John Doe who alleged unwanted contact, sexual remarks, and indecent exposure.
Another Jane Doe described repeated unwanted physical contact. Robinson’s team has dismissed every accusation and argued that the lawsuit is a coordinated attempt to force a financial settlement.

Apple Sounds the Alarm: Why iPhone Users Are Being Told to Ditch Google Chrome Immediately
Apple has strongly advised iPhone users to stop using Google Chrome, citing serious privacy concerns.
The company explained that Safari provides protections Chrome cannot match, stating, “Unlike Chrome, Safari truly helps protect your privacy.”
Safari prevents advertisers and websites from collecting device details to create a digital fingerprint. Safari achieves this by simplifying device setups so that many iPhones appear identical to trackers.
Apple noted, “Safari works to prevent advertisers and websites from using the unique combination of characteristics of your device to create a fingerprint to track you.” Presenting a generic “phone” identity makes it difficult for companies to single out individual users.
The risk of digital fingerprinting has increased after Google lifted its previous ban on this method. This tracking technique combines data such as browser type, operating system, fonts, and hardware details to create a unique identifier for monitoring user activity.
Apple joins Mozilla, which has added similar protections in Firefox, in taking steps to counter fingerprinting. Safari also incorporates AI-based tracking prevention, location-harvesting defenses, and strong private browsing protections. According to Apple, these features are not available in Chrome.
Additionally, Safari supports Google Sheets, Google Slides, and Google Docs, meaning users can access these services without relying on Chrome. Apple clarified that the warning applies not only to Chrome but also to other Google apps on the iPhone.
Apple further cautioned users about Google’s ability to collect data even when using Safari. A prominent blue button on the Google search page, labeled “Try Google App,” can lead to unintended tracking.
Apple warned, “If a user clicks that button by mistake, the Google app opens and collects even more personal data, more than Chrome, and links it to your identity.” Users are advised to avoid clicking this button to maintain privacy.
Despite Chrome still having over three billion users worldwide, Apple recommends a simple solution: switch to Safari or avoid Google apps on iPhone to ensure safer and more private browsing.
