#RHOA: Will Sheree and Drew Return to RHOA for Season 16?
Season 16 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta seems to be having trouble settling on a cast. Of course, Porsha Williams and Kenya Moore are set to return, but so far, they are the only two confirmed cast members. It seems maybe they have already cast some new ladies, but two current cast members might be on the chopping block.

As fans know, Bravo wants to make up for the recent lackluster seasons and is doing a soft reboot for RHOA. It has already been confirmed that Marlo Hamoton, Sanya Ricbards-Ross, and Kandi Burruss will not be returning, with the latter deciding it was time for a break. There are also rumors of what new ladies may be joining.

Now, Radar Online is reporting that some cast members that fans thought could be safe may not be. It has also been rumored that Sheree would be a “friend of” instead of a full-time housewife. However, now it seems that may not be the case, as she could be on the chopping block.

The verdict is still out on Drew. The outlet is reporting that she has more of a chance to return than She By Sheree, but it’s still unclear what will be the final decision regarding casting.
Additionally, it seems that Bravo had more of a plan for the cast. However, Kandi deciding not to return caused them to return to the drawing board and go in other directions. Still, it seems that they are getting closer to determining who will fill out the cast for season 16, as they had Kenya make an official announcement of her return, which you can see below.

Still, fans are anxious about the future of RHOA. Many don’t like that it’s taking so long to actually begin filming. However, the show hasn’t been in the best place for a while, so it makes sense that production would want to ensure they have the right cast(and hopefully producers.) Season 16 of RHOA is a make-or-break season, which means they have to right a ton of wrongs to even come close to restoring the show to its glory days.

Do you want to see Sheree and Drew return? Sheree may not always have the best storylines, but she is funny and brings balance to the show. As for Drew, her storyline with Ralph is yet to be complete.

#MusicNews: Taylor Swift's 'Tortured Poets Department' Sells 1.4M Copies On First Day Of Release

Taylor Swift's latest musical venture, "The Tortured Poets Department", has not just met expectations; it has obliterated them, jetting off to a historic start that has both fans and the music industry buzzing. Released on April 19, the album has already set records, showcasing Swift's unassailable influence in the evolving music landscape.

According to initial reports to Luminate, the album sold a staggering 1.4 million copies in traditional sales on its first day, making it the biggest sales week ever for any of Swift's albums in the U.S. This feat is further highlighted by the album's monumental streaming success.

On Spotify, "The Tortured Poets Department" not only surpassed 300 million streams within a single day but also became Spotify’s first-ever album to achieve such a feat, eclipsing previous records held by Swift herself with her "Midnights" album and even Beyonce Knowles' "Cowboy Carter".
What makes "The Tortured Poets Department" extraordinarily captivating is its mix of collaboration and storytelling depth, attributed to Swift's clever songwriting and notable contributions from Post Malone, Florence and the Machine, Jack Antonoff, and Aaron Dessner.

The album consists of 31 tracks, including its opening hit "Fortnight", which Swift describes as "1989 grown up," detailing her evolution both personally and professionally.
Swift's surprise reveal of the album as a "secret DOUBLE album" just two hours after its initial release added to the frenzy. The deluxe edition encompasses 15 additional songs, offering fans a deep dive into what Swift termed as "tortured poetry" written over the past two years, solidifying the album's place as a storytelling masterpiece.

As the album continues to dominate both sales and streaming charts, it is projected to mark Swift's 14th No. 1 album on the Billboard 200, further securing her record for the most No. 1 albums among women and tying with Jay-Z among soloists. Such achievements not only underscore Swift's enduring appeal and artistic versatility but also reflect her unparalleled ability to connect with a global audience on a profound level.

Amidst this record-breaking journey, "The Tortured Poets Department" stands not just as an album but as a cultural milestone, reinforcing Taylor Swift's legacy as one of the most influential musicians of her generation.

#HipHopNews: Chris Brown PUNISHES With New Quavo Diss Track, "Weakest Link"
Chris Brown is back with smoke for Quavo on his newest response track, “Weakest Link.” The Virginia-raised crooner decided to deliver some bars to follow up on the former Migos member’s latest record, “TENDER.”

On “Weakest Link,” Brown rapped, “Okay, let’s get down to the facts, p**sy, I’m dripped in red (Okay)/ Don’t let this R&B s**t fool you, n**gas get ripped to shreds (Get Down)/ Quavo talkin’ like he a thug, n**ga, you a b**ch with dreads (You a b**ch)/ Can’t wait to see the day that you back up all that s**t you said.”

Responding to the claim that Quavo dated Karrueche Tran, Brown stated, “You f**ked my ex-h**, that’s cool, I don’t give no f**k, lil’ n**ga (Still a b**ch)/ ‘Cause I f**ked yo’ ex when you were still with her, b**ch, I’m up, lil’ n**ga (I’m up).”
Without confirming or denying the claims, Saweetie tweeted, “Let me go rewrite these nani verses,” and “WHEW! CHILE.”

While those verses were pretty harsh, many believe the most vicious part of the track was when Brown claimed, “RIP Takeoff, he the only real one that got true respect/ Crazy how when he died, everybody really wished it was you instead (Oh s**t! Brr)/ You trippin’, Chris, don’t say that, don’t lose your head (D**n).”

Brown continued his furious claims rapping, “Stop talkin’ ’bout beatin’ girls, you was beatin’ b**ches on the elevator/ We seen the tapes, that’s devastatin’ (Brr, bow, bow)/ You doin’ bad, you a b**ch and your music trash (Yeah yeah, yeah)/ Fashion week, they sat me next to your lame a**, I was truly mad (What?)/ All I kept thinkin’ ’bout was breakin’ your face, but I gave you a pass (What?)/ You lucky I ain’t wanna f**k the money up, boy, I would’ve broke you in half (Brrah, bow).”

LISTEN HERE:

This was a direct allusion to a fashion show that placed Chris Brown and Quavo side by side for the duration of the show in the front row. Fans on social media applauded both parties for not causing a scene and getting to the bag.

Quavo’s diss “TENDER” was an instant reaction to Brown seemingly taking shots at Quavo on the 11:11 (Deluxe) standout cut, “Freak.” On the track, Brown rapped, “Okay, now f**kin’ my old b**ches ain’t gon’ make us equal/ Sippin’ that 1942 ’cause I don’t do no Cuervo/ Freak b**ch, she like Casamigos, not the Migos.”

The “Cuervo” in Jose Cuervo, a tequila brand, is similar to the pronunciation of Quavo. Brown appeared to mention Migos outright in the subsequent line

The fashion and beauty mogul celebrated the launch of the newest earth-tone iteration of the bestselling sneaker in London on Wednesday (April 17) alongside some of the U.K.’s most regard influencers and public figures, including Arya Starr, Mahalia, Bree Runway, and more.

Brian McKnight Faces Backlash For Calling His Estranged Children 'Product Of Sin'
Brian McKnight, the 54-year-old Grammy-nominated R&B legend, is facing intense criticism for his comments regarding his four eldest biological children. In a recent Instagram Q&A session, McKnight stated that he no longer claims these children - Brian Jr., Niko, Briana, and Clyde - because they are "the product of sin."

McKnight's comments sparked outrage among fans and followers. One fan defended his decision, writing, "In order to live a life that you love, you have to get rid of the evil and the negativity - even if that evil and negativity is related [to you]." McKnight responded by saying, "I wanna big up my man right here. He gets it."

However, other fans challenged McKnight's stance, but he fired back, "God wasn't talking about children that are the product of sin which these are 2. I didn't raise them their mothers did 3. Know the whole story before quoting the Bible 4. Take your inaccurate negativity off my page and try being happy."

McKnight has been estranged from his four eldest children for years. In 2019, he referred to them as "entitled" in a video he shared online.
McKnight is now married to Leilani Mendoza and has a newborn son with her. He refers to his stepchildren, Julie and Jack, and his infant son as his only children.

In October 2023, he changed his name to become a senior after naming his baby with Mendoza, Brian Jr. "To the world with the release of my new album lovingly created for him. JR. because I am also proud to officially announce that I have legally changed my name to exactly match my legacy's," he introduced his youngest offspring.

He was soon blasted by fans for his move for dismissing his eldest son, who is also named Brian Jr.

Ncuti Gatwa Laments 'White Mediocrity' Celebration And Lack Of Recognition For Black Talents

In an illuminative conversation with Attitude magazine for its May/June issue, Ncuti Gatwa, an LGBTQ Rwandan immigrant to the U.K. and the first Black actor to take on the iconic role of "Doctor Who", sheds light on the ongoing struggle for acceptance and representation in the entertainment industry and beyond.

Gatwa's pioneering casting is more than a personal triumph; it symbolizes a broader shift within the cultural landscape towards greater inclusivity.
During the interview, Gatwa did not hold back on his views about the backlash he has received since assuming the role. "We do see a shift happening in casting, in positions of power, and in the status quo. I mean, not a fast shift, things could tip over the other way a little bit quicker. But you see people kind of malfunctioning because things are changing," he remarked.

Gatwa also addressed the disproportionate expectations placed on Black individuals in the entertainment sector and beyond. "There's so much White mediocrity that gets celebrated, and Black people, we have to be absolutely flawless to get half of [that] anyway," he stated, voicing a powerful call to arms against racial inequity and the pressure to be perfect.

The conversation then navigated towards the U.K.'s handling of gender diversity and trans identities. Gatwa criticized the country's political climate for fostering an environment where attacking marginalized communities has become normalized.
"Everything trickles down from the top, and when you see politicians openly attacking marginalized communities, when you see our politicians openly attacking trans people, it makes it OK for everyone else," he explained. According to Gatwa, these actions not only perpetuate division but also obscure the government's failures by shifting blame onto the most vulnerable.

Concluding his powerful commentary, Gatwa emphasized the critical need for more diversity and inclusion within media representation. "We've got to keep pushing for more. Lots and lots and lots and lots more diversity, lots more inclusion on our screen. Lots and lots and lots of it for all you male gamons out there!" he passionately stated, challenging both the industry and audiences to embrace and demand change.

As an advocate and trailblazer, Gatwa's words are a clarion call for a more equitable and representative entertainment landscape.

Chingy Recalls How Sidney Starr’s Lie Derailed His Career
Rapper Chingy will be featured on the upcoming episode of TV One’s hit series, “Unsung,” and he recalls how Sidney Starr’s lie about them dating derailed his career.
Allow me to Pull You Back to 2009 when the rapper snapped a photo with transgender model Sidney Starr and it went viral.

The photo sparked a crockpot of controversy and rumors for Chingy, whose real name is Howard Earl Bailey Jr.
Sidney Starr added all-purpose seasoning to the pot when she claimed she and Chingy dated “on and off” for “a nice little minute” and that they were involved in a sexual relationship.

As a result of the controversy, Chingy’s career and reputation sank faster than the Titanic.
I was in the works with Interscope on a record deal.
That lie was so big on social media I lost a whole record deal and so much other stuff from that.
And I said something about it then.
But, for some reason, nobody took my side, and everybody just ran with that…without talking to me.

Sidney Starr later admitted that she lied about her relationship with Chingy, but the damage was already done and irreversible.
The rapper told TV One, “Couple of months later, same individual go crying on camera talking about how they lied for 15 minutes of fame because they wanted a reality show.”

Sidney Starr got what she wanted, but Chingy paid the ultimate price for it.
“These things that they wanted happened, while things I was doing…died. It was a heavy blow. It took years to recover from. I’m talking about years, probably over a decade.”

Catch Chingy’s captivating story, his way, on a new Unsung exclusively on TV One.

Former NBA star Stephen Jackson called Gayle on the carpet for disrespecting Dawn Staley.
“You cannot demean Dawn Staley like that,” Stephen said.
You talking to her about winning the championship…about going undefeated and you have the nerve to get on there and say, ‘Well, we were rooting for Caitlin Clark and you broke everybody’s heart.’

Who is we?!? Who is we?!
All the Black people I know was rooting for Dawn Staley.
We’re all fans of Caitlin Clark, but the way you put it…that s— was trash!

LAPD Officer Won’t Face Criminal Charges in Killing of 14-year-old Girl At Store During Police Confrontation with Suspect

A Los Angeles Police Department officer (William Jones Jr.) will not face criminal charges in the 2021 fatal shooting of a 14-year-old girl killed inside a department store when police fired at a man suspected of attacking a woman, California prosecutors said Wednesday.

Valentina Orellana-Peralta and her mother were holding one another and praying in the dressing room of the Burlington Coat Factory in North Hollywood, California, after a man began attacking customers in the store on December 23, 2021, police previously said.

When police arrived and confronted the suspect with gunfire, an officer’s bullet pierced through the wall and fatally struck Valentina, who was pronounced dead on scene.
Police also fatally shot 24-year-old suspect Daniel Elena-Lopez.

The California Department of Justice released a report Wednesday detailing the findings of its investigation into the shooting, which determined that no criminal charges will be filed against (Officer Jones) who killed the teenager.
“We conclude that no criminal charges will be filed because the evidence is insufficient to prove that [the officer] committed a crime,” the California Department of Justice said in its investigative report.

Greg Meyer, a law enforcement expert who reviewed the case, concluded that there was not enough time for the officer “or any other officer to attempt de-escalation tactics in this situation,” according to the report. Meyer noted Valentina’s fatal shooting “was a tragic but unforeseeable accident,” according to the report.

“Due to pending civil litigation, the Los Angeles Police Department cannot comment on this matter,” Drake Madison, an LAPD officer, said Thursday.
“This case was a particularly challenging one to process as this involved the loss of two lives,” California Attorney General Rob Bonta said in a statement. “Any loss of life is a tragedy, and my heart goes out, especially to the family of Valentina Orellana Peralta, who tragically lost her life and whose only involvement in this incident was by being at the wrong place at the wrong time.”

How the shooting unfolded
At the time of the incident in December 2021, police were responding to multiple calls of suspected assault and a possible shooting unfolding inside Burlington Coat Factory.

Police released edited surveillance camera footage and police body camera videos showing events leading to the teenager’s killing.
A video shows Daniel Elena-Lopez, the suspect, entering a department store with his bike and wearing a tank top and shorts. He then takes the escalator upstairs with his bike.

Shortly after, he returned to the escalators wearing a multicolored jacket and long pants before swinging his bike lock at customers, police said at the time. He is also seen attacking several customers.
Several body camera videos released by police show a woman on the floor covered in blood as officers arrive and try to find the suspect, who was a short distance away, police said.

Elena-Lopez was at the end of an aisle about 12 feet from the bloodied woman and holding a “dark object” in his hand when the officer stepped into the aisle, according to the newly released California Department of Justice report.
An officer can be heard on the body camera footage firing three bullets toward the suspect, who later falls to the ground. The officer had fired a Colt AR-15 patrol rifle, according to the justice department report.

A bullet aimed at the suspect passed through the wall, striking Valentina in the chest and killing her, coroner records show.
The bullet had hit the floor and changed direction before entering the wall of a fitting room, according to the report.

Meyer, the law enforcement expert, concluded that time and circumstances “did not allow for planning and assessment of such factors as the potential for an unseen innocent person being in the background, rifle bullet penetration capability, or assessment of the physical structure of the walls behind the suspect,” according to the report.

“The evidence does not show, beyond a reasonable doubt, that [the officer] acted without the intent to defend himself and others from what he reasonably believed to be imminent death or serious bodily injury,” the Department of Justice said in the report.

U.S. House of Representatives backs proposed TikTok ban, next up is the Senate's vote

The U.S. is inching closer toward a nationwide ban on TikTok. On Saturday (April 20), the House voted 360-58 in support of a pivotal Republican-backed bill regarding aid for Ukraine and Israel.

A measure addressing the forced sale of the video app from its China-based owner, ByteDance Ltd., was included in the modified proposal. The Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act mirrors similar concerns about the platform's ownership that were presented to lawmakers in March.
If approved by the Senate, TikTok would have to acquire a new owner within a year, reported NPR. In the event that progress toward new ownership is observed as the deadline passes, the White House can extend it by 90 days, allowing for the deal to be finalized.

Prior to the vote, the media platform issued a statement about the ban being lumped into legislation regarding a foreign aid package. In an April 17 tweet, it said, “It is unfortunate that the House of Representatives is using the cover of important foreign and humanitarian assistance to once again jam through a ban bill that would trample the free speech rights of 170 million Americans, devastate 7 million businesses, and shutter a platform that contributes $24 billion to the U.S. economy, annually.

The widely popular app has been criticized as “China’s backdoor into Americans' lives” by Missouri Senator Josh Hawley, whose bill to ban TikTok was blocked by the Senate last November. President Joe Biden has been a staunch supporter of proposed legislation that would require ByteDance Ltd. to divest from the social juggernaut. Last month, when asked about the recent bill, Biden told reporters, “If they pass it, I’ll sign it.”

TikTok CEO Shou Chew spoke in March when the House passed the Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act, claiming there had been a lot of misinformation about the company and others being able to manipulate user information and content shared on the app.

“We will not stop advocating for you, and we will continue to do all we can, including exercising our legal rights to protect this amazing platform we have built for you,” he said to its millions of users. The app’s fate could be somewhat determined as soon as in the next two weeks, when the Senate is expected to vote on the bill.
