Britain’s biggest pop star says queer youth struggling in unsafe environments during lockdown 'breaks her heart'.
Dua Lipa has already given the gays so much in the shimmying shape of her perfect pop bops – but she is determined to use her platform to fight for the rights of her LGBTQ fans.
As Britain's biggest pop star graces the cover of the Attitude December issue, available to download and to order globally now, the 'Hallucinate' singer insists it is her “duty” to speak up and raise awareness as an ally.
“I have a massive group of friends and [members of] my team who are part of the LGBTQ community, who have inspired me so much and taught me so much – they’re all my role models in life,” she explains.

“It’s entirely a right to be able to love who you want, not just because I have friends in the LGBTQ community, but because we’re all human and we deserve it. It’s something I feel very connected to and will continue to fight for.”
Dua, 25, released her chart-topping album Future Nostalgia at the beginning of lockdown; a flickering light during a dark time for many LGBTQ people, unable to seek out their usual safe spaces, trapped, perhaps, in dangerous environments – the numbers seeking suicide-prevention support rose significantly during this period.
“It really breaks my heart. It’s hard to put into words how that makes me feel, somebody not being able to continue with their life because of what’s going on around them. That makes it difficult to digest. I can only imagine what that must feel like.”
The 'Levitating' singer continues: “To be able to use my platform to spread awareness, show support, talk about it, to make people feel seen, heard and safe, [to] communicate with charities and try to do my part as much as I can… I see that as my duty.”
From speaking out after fans waving rainbow flags were forcibly removed from her show in Shanghai in 2018, to headlining Mardi Gras in Sydney in February, Dua has earned her stripes as a gay icon – but she’s still getting used to the honour.
“It’s really hard to refer to myself as that,” Dua says, modestly. “But I’m trying to channel that energy…
“I’m [just] grateful to have such an incredible community filled with so much love, so much enthusiasm, so much creativity – you know how you go, ‘sugar and spice makes everything nice?’ That’s what the gay community has.”

#RIP: Condolences Legendary Jeopardy! Host Alex Trebek Dead at 80
Longtime Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek died Sunday after a battle with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer, TMZ has confirmed. He was 80.
The show released a brief statement via Twitter, saying: “Jeopardy! is saddened to share that Alex Trebek passed away peacefully at home early this morning, surrounded by family and friends. Thank you, Alex.”
Trebek first revealed his cancer diagnosis in March 2019 via a video announcement. Though he acknowledged that the prognosis for his illness was “not very encouraging,” Trebek said at the time that he planned “to fight this, and I’m going to keep working.” Throughout his struggle with the disease, he continued to host Jeopardy! (which then went on hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic), and he offered frequent health updates to fans while undergoing treatment.
In a July 2020 interview with Good Morning America, Trebek said he wouldn’t “go to any extraordinary measures to ensure my survival” if his experimental immunotherapy treatment proved unsuccessful: “If the quality of life is not there, it’s hard sometimes to push and just say, ‘Well, I’m going to keep going, even though I’m miserable.'”
That said, he dreamed to make it to the two-year survival mark, which would have come in February 2021. “My doctor has told me that he is counting on me celebrating two years of survivorship past the diagnosis of Stage 4 pancreatic cancer, and that two years happens in February,” he said. “So I expect to be around — because he said I will be around — and I expect to be hosting the show if I am around.”
After emceeing several programs in his native Canada, Trebek made his American hosting debut in 1973 on the short-lived NBC game show The Wizard of Odds. He went on to host several other variety programs and game shows in the late ’70s and early ’80s, including Double Dare and High Rollers.
But Trebek was best known for his role behind the podium on the long-running quiz show Jeopardy!, which he began hosting in 1984 when its daily syndicated version launched. At the time of his death, Trebek had presided over more than 8,000 episodes of the beloved program, and he had planned to remain host of Jeopardy! until at least 2022, when his new contract expired.
Trebek chose to have “no say” in any discussions about his eventual Jeopardy! successor, but outside of tendering a formal recommendation, he offered a dream pick: “When people ask me who I’d like to see replace me, I say, ‘Well, it’s probably going to be a woman, and she’ll have to be bright, she’ll have to have a good sense of humor…’ Uhhhh, let’s see…. Betty White! Betty White is my choice.”
Throughout his three-plus decades as Jeopardy! host, Trebek racked up a whopping 28 Daytime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Game Show Host, an award he ultimately won seven times. He also received the Daytime Emmys’ Lifetime Achievement Award in 2011.
Trebek also made guest appearances as himself on numerous TV shows throughout the years. His credits included How I Met Your Mother, Hot in Cleveland and The Colbert Report, and he was famously imitated by Will Ferrell during Saturday Night Live‘s Jeopardy! sketches.
#RHOA: Cynthia Bailey Talks Newlywed Life, Dishes on the New Season and Relationship!
Cynthia Bailey is loving life as a newlywed after marrying Mike Hill in a stunning ceremony last month. Ahead of the Dec. 6 return of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Bailey said in a into PopCulture.com about the first month of married life, what they can expect in the new season and where her relationship stands with NeNe Leakes after their fallout.
"[Newlywed life is] great. It’s really great," she told PopCulture. "I have to say, Mike and I are very happy, and I actually feel married. I was a fiancée for a while, and people keep asking, 'Do you feel different?' I do. I feel like I have a partner. I feel like we’re in this together."
While Hill "agonized" over writing his vows to his new wife, Bailey admits she got so busy with wedding planning and COVID-19 precautions that she only had time to jot down a few bullet points before walking down the aisle. It wasn't hard to express her love for the Fox Sports commentator, she noted. It came down to sentiments such as, "I like you. You're my best friend. When I hear you laughing downstairs doing your show, it makes me smile."
While Bravo wasn't able to film the ceremony itself due to a last-minute indoor venue change forced by a hurricane, Bailey assured fans that there will be plenty of wedding footage to show them the ins and outs of her special day, as well as all the planning and preparations leading up to it. She's looking forward to seeing the footage herself, as she was so busy the day of that she didn't even get to cut the wedding cake!
Bailey was disappointed to miss out on the sweet treats on her wedding day, but got to indulge in a delicious McDonald's apple fritter, blueberry muffin and cinnamon roll during a virtual Instagram Live brunch with former co-star Eva Marcille earlier this week. Marcille made her exit from RHOA after Season 12 shortly before Leakes would also announce she would not be returning for Season 13. "I'm not saying we have to be best friends again," the model noted. "You don't fall out of love with people if there was ever love for them." Of extending an olive branch, the newlywed added, "Wherever that leads, it leads. I'm not gonna force anything, and she’s not gonna force anything. My heart is full of love."
Filming this season was "different" for many reasons, not just the exits of Marcille and Leakes. "I knew this season would be a little different because the world is changed. We’ve all changed," the Bravo star reflected, joking that with all the filming the cast had to do in their homes amid COVID-19 filming precautions, they would be "literally Housewives for real."
Spending so much time at home, Bailey said she and Hill managed to weather the tests of the "pandemic relationship crisis" experienced by so many couples suddenly spending more time together than ever before. The Bailey Wine Cellar had to shut down for three months during the early days of the pandemic as well, and while employees were still kept on the payroll, the experience opened the reality star's eyes to the plight of small Black-owned businesses in her community. Moving forward, Bailey vowed to use her platform to help these businesses get back on their feet, urging fans to keep their eyes out for pop-up shops and other efforts on her social media to give back. The Real Housewives of Atlanta returns for Season 13 on Sunday, Dec. 6 at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.

Chris Brown and Drake are up to something big. The superstar duo is reportedly working on a joint album. Speaking with Fat Joe’s “Joprah Show” on Instagram Live, Chris was asked if he would ever do a “collaboration album, like a Best of Both Worlds” with Drake.
“Yeah…” replied Chris. “We definitely got some songs.”
Brown said he and Drake are working on “timeless” music. “It’s definitely gonna be something that we working on… That’s gonna be crazy,” he added.
Fat Joe couldn’t contain his excitement about the potential pairing. “It’s gonna be bigger than any album made in history, bigger than the Beatles,” said Joe. “I’m so happy that the fans is able to see Drake and Chris Brown put together a whole album.”
The two are no strangers to collaborating. They worked together in the past on songs including “Only,” “Deuces (Remix),” “Not You Too,” and “No Guidance,” which peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100. Prior to that, they had beef over their mutual relationship with Rihanna, but they were able to squash their differences and reunite onstage during Drake’s “Aubrey and the Three Migos Tour” in L.A. in 2018.
Chris is also working on his solo album Breezy, which he announced back in July. Drake’s long-awaited album Certified Lover Boy is due in January.

The President-Elect and Vice President-Elect took to the stage to give victory speeches after winning the 2020 Election on Saturday night (November 7) in Wilmington, Delaware.
First up, Kamala spoke to supporters, while acknowledging that she is the first woman, and person of color, to hold the position of Vice President
“But while I may be the first woman in this office, I will not be the last,” Kamala said. “Because every little girl watching tonight sees that this is a country of possibilities and to the children of our country regardless of your gender, our country has sent you a clear message: dream with ambition, lead with conviction and see yourselves in a way that others may not simply because they’ve never seen it before.”
Joe then took the stage to deliver his own speech, to share a message with those who voted for Donald Trump.
“For all those of you who voted for President Trump, I understand the disappointment tonight. I’ve lost a couple of times myself. But now, let’s give each other a chance,” Joe said. “It’s time to put away the harsh rhetoric, lower the temperature, see each other again, listen to each other again. And to make progress we have to stop treating our opponents as enemies.”
After their speeches, Joe and Kamala were joined on stage by their families, including Joe‘s wife Dr. Jill Biden and Kamala‘s husband Douglas Emhoff.

Cardi B Says Trump Supporters Harassed Her And Threatened To Burn Her House Down!
Like many others, Cardi B is celebrating the news of Joe Biden winning the 2020 presidential election and becoming the 46th President of the U.S. In a two-video post, Cardi B took to Instagram to show her excitement and also reflect on the harassment she has received from Donald Trump supporters during his presidency. She begins by saying that she knew Joe Biden was going to win.
“I knew who was going to win. God knows better. You know why God put Joe Biden in place? Cos you Trump supporters were getting out of line. Ya’ll were becoming real bullies.”
She goes on to talk about the mis-treatment she has received from Trump supporters and states that it began when she was supporting Senator Bernie Sanders. Cardi says,

Dave Chappelle got very real during his Saturday Night Live monologue.While hosting the show on Saturday (November 7), the 47-year-old comedian addressed Donald Trump‘s White supporters who don’t wear masks during the coronavirus pandemic, while giving them a lesson in Black history.

Al Roker Has Been Diagnosed With Prostate Cancer, Says 'It's A Little Aggressive'!
Al Roker has revealed he has prostate cancer.
The Today show weatherman, 66, made the announcement Friday on the morning show. He said he will be undergoing surgery next week to have his prostate removed.
“After a routine checkup in September, turns out I have prostate cancer,” Roker shared. “It’s a good news, bad news kind of thing. Good news is, we caught it early. Not great news is that it’s a little aggressive.”
He said he will be taking some time off to “take care of this,” having the surgery next week at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC, but will be sharing his journey with viewers. He felt it especially important to share publicly because 1 in 9 men will be diagnosed with the cancer in their lifetime while 1 in 7 African-American men will be, but it’s very treatable if detected early.
Roker has long shone a spotlight on early detection of prostate cancer, even getting a prostate exam on the show.
His physician Dr. Vincent Laudone said on the show, "Fortunately his cancer appears somewhat limited or confined to the prostate, but because it's more aggressive, we wanted to treat it, and after discussion regarding all of the different options — surgery, radiation, focal therapy — we settled on removing the prostate.”
And Roker is positive about what’s ahead, saying, “I don't want people thinking, ‘Oh, poor Al,’ because I’m gonna be OK.”
After the segment, Roker took to social media to people for their well wishes.
Lori Loughlin Could Get Early Prison Release Date Due To The Holidays!
Lori Loughlin could be home for the holidays. It’s been reported that the Full House alum may be released from prison a few days early, just in time to reunite with her loved ones for Christmas.
On Friday (November 6), TMZ reported that Loughlin — who is currently serving a two-month prison sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution in Dublin, California, for her involvement in the infamous college admissions scandal — will supposedly be released from prison on Sunday, December 27, according to the Bureau of Prisons. The celebrity gossip outlet indicates, however, that if an inmate’s release date falls on a weekend or legal holiday, they can be released on the last preceding weekday.
Felicity Huffman, who was also involved in the scam, served 11 days of her 14-day sentence at the same facility in 2019.
This means it’s quite likely Loughlin could be let go on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. Additionally, the site notes that the actress may be granted an “early compassionate release” should her facility suffer an outbreak of COVID-19.
Even with an early release, though, Loughlin will still have two years of supervised release once she’s out from behind bars.
As fans know, the 56-year-old began her sentence on October 30. Her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, 57, was given a five-month sentence for his involvement in the scandal.
The couple pleaded guilty to charges involving paying $500,000 to bribe their daughter’s way into the University of Southern California.
Despite her short sentence, Loughlin has reportedly been a "wreck" and is "dreading" the rest of her time there.
Man Arrested and Charged With Murder in King Von’s Shooting Death!
Earlier this week, 26-year-old rapper King Von was killed outside of a hookah lounge in Atlanta, Georgia. Today (November 7), Atlanta police have arrested 22-year-old Timothy Leeks and charged him with the rapper’s murder, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Marla Jean Rooker, a spokesperson for the Atlanta Police Department, told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that Leeks was in custody at Grady Hospital, adding that the Chicago-born rapper’s homicide case “is closed with this arrest.” During the incident, one other person was killed, three others were injured, and another remains in critical condition. Their names have not been released. After King Von’s death was confirmed on Friday, Chance the Rapper, YG, and more shared their remembrances of the late rapper online, with LeBron James writing, “The kid had a damn good future ahead of him.”
Pioneering Black Doll Baby Nancy Enters Toy Hall Of Fame!
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Baby Nancy, the first Black baby doll to have an Afro and other authentic features, was inducted into the National Toy Hall of Fame on Thursday, along with sidewalk chalk and the wooden block game Jenga.
The 2020 honorees were recognized for their creativity and popularity over time.
They were chosen by a panel of experts from among 12 finalists that also included bingo, Breyer Horses, Lite-Brite, Masters of the Universe, My Little Pony, Risk, Sorry!, Tamagotchi, and Yahtzee.
Baby Nancy was the inaugural doll for Shindana Toys, a California company launched in 1968 by Operation Bootstrap Inc., the not-for-profit Black community self-help organization that emerged in the aftermath of the Watts riots in Los Angeles.
By Thanksgiving, Baby Nancy was the bestselling Black doll in Los Angeles, and before Christmas, she was selling nationwide. The toy exposed a long-standing demand for ethnically correct Black dolls, according to the National Toy Hall of Fame, located in The Strong museum in Rochester, New York.
Shindana Toys folded amid financial problems in 1983, but Baby Nancy “still stands as a landmark doll that made commercial and cultural breakthoughs,” curator Michelle Parnett-Dwyer said in a news release.
Another inductee, sidewalk chalk, traces its roots all the way back to Paleolithic cave art found throughout the world, hall officials said.

“There are few limits to what kids can do with chalk. Every sidewalk square, patio, and driveway holds the potential for a work of art, a winning game of strategy and cleverness, or a demonstration of physical agility, poise, and balance,” chief curator Christopher Bensch said.
Jenga, the creation of Englishwoman Leslie Scott, was honored for its simplicity and ability to be played by almost anyone. Players take turns removing wooden blocks from a rectangular tower until it collapses. Its name comes from the Swahili verb, kujenga, which means to build.
“It is one of the rare games that’s equally fun for two people or a bigger crowd. It’s perfect for a game party with a group or something more intimate, but either way, it’s always sure to make instant memories,” curator Nicolas Ricketts said.
The three new inductees will be on permanent display at the National Toy Hall of Fame, alongside previous winners that include Barbie and the Hula Hoop. The hall takes nominations from anyone year-round and has inducted a new class each year since 1998.

Nevada Votes To Lift 18-Year Ban On Same Sex Marriages!
While Nevada may be taking a while to reveal its presidential results, one victory that was announced was the decision to overturn the state’s 18-year ban on same-sex marriage. This decision makes Nevada the first state to recognize gay marriage in its constitution.
The right to same-sex marriage was Question 2 on the ballot. This was one of four new amendments to the state constitution that citizens could vote on during this election. The amendment’s passage guaranteed same-sex marriage legalization even if the U.S. Supreme Court decides to overturns its 2015 decision that made gay marriage legal throughout the country.
LGBTQ activists praised the state’s decision to overturn the ban.
“This overwhelming majority should be a reminder that LGBTQ equality is not just the right thing to do, it is exactly what Nevadans want,” said Briana Escamilla, director of Human Rights Campaign’s Nevada.
Question 2 passed with 62 percent of voters in favor of same-sex marriage and 38 percent against it, according to the Nevada secretary of state.
“It feels good that we let the voters decide,” Equality Nevada President Chris Davin said. “The people said this, not judges or lawmakers. This was direct democracy — it’s how everything should be.”
André Wade, Head of Silver State Equality, which heavily promoted Question 2, said that the decision was one that demonstrated how progressive the state of Nevada is.
“It’s the fix we need to make here. We have discriminatory language in the constitution, and we need to take it out. We know Nevadans value equality, and we want our constitution to mirror that.”
A report published in June by 24/7WallSt.com declared Nevada as the best state for LGBTQ people. Now they have the laws to back it up.
Jacob Blake Reaches Plea Deal In Domestic Case!
Jacob Blake, the man shot seven times by a Kenosha police officer, has reached a plea deal stemming from a domestic incident in May that occurred prior to the shooting last August.
According to CNN, Blake made his court appearance for that case from a hospital bed via Zoom back in September and court records detailed that he plead guilty to two counts of disorderly conduct and domestic abuse while a third-degree sexual assault charge against him was dismissed.
A trial had initially been set for November 9th, after Blake had been accused of unlawfully entering a home on May 3rd and sexually assaulting a woman in her bedroom before taking off with her vehicle, according to the criminal complaint obtained by CNN.
Judge Bruce Schroeder ordered Blake’s sentence be withheld and that he be placed on probation for a period two years.
