#MAGFAB: Michelle Yeoh 楊紫瓊 for W Magazine China’s ‘The Great Performance’ Issue
WICKED star Michelle Yeoh covers the W Magazine China’s ‘The Great Performance’ issue photographed by Szilveszter Makó and styled by Zipeng Li.
Michelle Yeoh, the first Asian woman to win an Oscar for Best Actress—this award not only recognizes her success in acting but also breaks through all those “established conventions.” This achievement holds significant, cross-generational meaning. Perhaps it can all be traced back to her choices and courage: even when she reaches a high point that others admire, she continues to adhere to her fundamental standards and faces fresh challenges head-on. It may sound like a universal standard goal, grand and lofty enough to seem distant; yet Michelle Yeoh makes it a prominent part of every choice she makes, turning the answer into “yes” and “can.”
“Sometimes people will think for an actress, for an actor, maybe academic award will be the ultimate goal. But i never think I on the peak yet. I’m ready, I’m still climbing because I think always there’s a new challenge. The most important thing is I love what I do, and I do what I suppose to do, that’s it.”

BREAKING: Young Thug to Be Released From Jail After Taking Plea Deal in YSL Case

After being the centerpiece of the longest criminal trial in Georgia history, Young Thug’s legal fate has been determined.
On Thursday afternoon, Judge Paige Reese Whitaker sentenced the 33-year-old to 40 years in prison and 15 years of probation with a “backloaded” 20 years in custody if he fails to complete the probation. Judge Whitaker's sentence stipulated that he serve five years in prison, but she commuted the sentence to time served. That means Young Thug will soon be released from jail.

The judge's sentence came after Thug pleaded guilty to six counts of the RICO case. Those charges include possession of drugs and firearms. He pled no contest to two other counts of conspiracy to violate RICO.
Prosecution recommended a sentence of 45 years, with 20 served in prison and another 20 on probation. As Meghann Cuniff noted, Young Thug could have agreed to their plea deal, but he disagreed with the terms.

This news arrived a little more than a week after a fateful court mishap unfolded on Oct. 22. According to 11Alive, Slimelife Shawty (born Wunnie Lee) read a redacted section from a social media post used as evidence in the trial. Judge Whitaker quickly dismissed the jury and witness.
While Judge Whitaker didn’t say she would consider declaring a mistrial with prejudice — that scenario would mean it could never be retried — she did say she would consider declaring a mistrial with prejudice.

Young Thug has been behind bars since he was arrested on RICO charges on May 9, 2022.

#MusicNews: Mario Announces First Album in 6 Years With ‘Glad You Came’

After delivering an appetizer of a single with his record “Space,” Mario is ready to unveil the entree with his forthcoming album Glad You Came. Releasing Dec. 13 via New Citizen/Epic Records, Mario enlisted songwriter extraordinaire James Fauntleroy as the project’s executive producer.

“My successes and failures in the department of love and my imagination are what helped me to create this body of work,” Mario exclusively tells Billboard. “I had the pleasure of creating alongside James Fauntleroy, who executive-produced this project and wrote multiple songs with me. We have the same mission in our hearts of helping to preserve the art form.”

“Being able to create new textures and ways to invite intimacy and imagination back into R&B, Glad You Came embodies the very essence of the quality of classic R&B and retro-futuristic sound that can be played in any space,” he continues. “There’s a level of vulnerability and confidence that permeates this serving.”

Glad You Came will be Mario’s first album in six years and his first with Epic Records. The singer recently performed at Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday tour stop in Los Angeles, where he rattled off his R&B classic “Let Me Love You.” Shortly after, he served as a surprise guest in Toronto at Nostalgia for Drake, where he performed a medley of hits. Next year, he’ll join Mary J. Blige’s The For My Fans Tour alongside Ne-Yo. The tour will begin in January.

#HipHopNews:Tyler, The Creator Expands Chromakopia Tour With Over A Dozen New Dates
Tyler, The Creator has expanded his forthcoming tour in support of his Chromakopia album, adding an additional 13 dates due to high demand.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday night (October 29), the Odd Future founder announced he’s added three more nights to his hometown of Los Angeles – making for a total of six. He also added a second date in the cities of Seattle, San Diego, Austin, Paris, Chicago, Philly, Boston, NYC and Toronto. And for the Australian leg, he added a third night to both Melbourne and Sydney, as well as a second night in Brisbane.

Pre-sale for the North American leg is available now here, while Paris begins at 10am local time on Thursday (October 31) and 10am local time on Friday (November 1) for Australia.
Lil Yachty and Paris Texas serve as supporting acts. Meanwhile, Chromakopia is poised to make a big splash on next week’s Billboard 200 chart.
Despite it having a shorter tracking window due to it being released on Monday instead of the previous Friday, the album is expected to cruise to number one with the biggest first-week sales of Tyler, The Creator’s career.
According to HITS Daily Double, Chromakopia is on track to earn least 250,000 equivalent units in its opening week, with it being estimated that the number could go as high as 300,000 before final numbers are tallied.

As it stands, Tyler would top the Billboard 200 by a large margin ahead of Halsey’s new album The Great Impersonator, which is projected to move around 90,000 units.
If Chromakopia debuts at number one, it would be the first time in 2024 that one rap album has replaced another at the top of the chart, with Yeat‘s Lifestyle the incumbent chart-topper.

Chromakopia will also become just the sixth Hip Hop album this year to top the Billboard 200 and boast one of the highest first-week sales of any rap album in 2024.

Rihanna Wears Matching Onesies With Riot And RZA In Savage X Fenty's Latest Holiday Campaign

Rihanna is enjoying every ounce of motherhood. On Wednesday (Oct. 30), the “Diamonds” singer shared photos of herself, RZA and Riot wearing matching onesies ahead of the holidays.
The images showed the trio lounging on leopard-print pillows and sheets while wearing the paisley PJs, courtesy of Savage X Fenty, of course. The hooded piece included a kangaroo pocket and front zipper. Per the brand’s website, sizes for toddlers will range from 0M to 5T.
“Yea, I know! We are officially one of those families that match for the holidays,” Rihanna captioned the post alongside a facepalming emoji.
“They’re so cute! It’s giving triplets! I need this onesie with a matching robe,” Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Asiahn shared in the comments section. Presumably referring to RZA, Erykah Badu added, “Lookin’ like his daddy.”

“One baby is [ASAP] Rocky’s face, and the other is you [and] your dad’s face!” another person commented. The Harlem rapper previously joked that their firstborn has “his mom’s forehead, but he got everything else from me” in a sit-down with W Magazine.
“I think RZA is going to keep to himself. He’s an introvert,” he revealed to the publication. “Riot’s an extrovert — he’s just like his mom. RZA is more so like his dad, like me. And he’s my twin… I love my boy’s big forehead! I loved it on his mother.”
The pair welcomed RZA in 2022, then Riot the following year. Before his youngest child’s birth, ASAP Rocky teased his name with "RIOT (Rowdy Pipe'n)," which is expected to appear on his forthcoming album, Don’t Be Dumb.

In July, ASAP Rocky and RZA starred in Savage X Fenty’s Classics campaign, where the two wore matching tank tops and boxer briefs in front of an orange backdrop. The lingerie brand has been on quite the run this year, having teamed up with Diesel for a capsule collection earlier in the month.

Tyla, Halle Bailey And Coi Leray Dress As Iconic Halle Berry Movie Characters For Halloween
Halle Berry is getting plenty of love leading up to Halloween (Oct. 31). Tyla, Halle Bailey and Coi Leray all paid tribute to the Emmy Award-winning actress’ iconic film roles in their costume reveals on Wednesday (Oct. 30).
Tyla dressed as The Flintstones character Sharon Stone, whom Berry played in the franchise's 1994 live-action film. The “Water” hitmaker wore a tiger-print skirt set — a fitting decision, considering she calls her fanbase the Tygers. “Well, I’ve been a very bad girl, but you have to admit… I was very, very good at it,” she wrote in a nod to one of the Cleveland native’s lines from the movie.

Bailey, on the other hand, recreated Giacinta "Jinx" Johnson from 2002’s Die Another Day. Her costume consisted of an orange bikini and a white “J” belt with a knife holstered in it. Berry, who portrayed the NSA agent during the aforementioned James Bond series installment, reacted via her Instagram Story: “You did that. Love you, angel.”

For Leray’s outfit, she chose to transform into Catwoman. While numerous actresses have played the DC Comics character throughout the decade, none have come remotely close to the impact of Berry’s take in the 2004 movie. “Killed it!” the mother of two penned on social media.

Bailey previously spoke about the similarities between her and the legendary actress’ names on "LIVE with Kelly and Mark." Per REVOLT, she explained, "Well, my family, we've always loved Halle Berry. I mean, she's amazing.”
"Originally, when I was a baby, they wanted to name me Hailey, but my last name is Bailey. So that wouldn't have worked," the “Angel” artist continued. “They ultimately decided [on] Halle, and it's very similar to Halle Berry, but there's no one else I would rather have a similar name than her ‘cause she's so cool.”

The two also attended the LA Galaxy versus Inter Miami opener in February, where they took photos together for the first time.

Blair Underwood Says Missed ‘Dreamgirls’ Role Is “The One That Got Away”

Blair Underwood almost landed a starring role in Dreamgirls. During the Emmy winner’s recent appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, he confessed that missing out on Dreamgirls was the role “that got away.” Underwood first expressed how “it’s not right” that he’s just meeting Hudson for the first time. “I’ve been a fan of yours for so long,” he gushed.

However, it’s not right because he was being considered as her costar in the 2006 film, which gave her an Oscar win. “Let me tell you something—for me, that was the role that got away. Jamie Foxx’s character, the one she was in love with. I wanted so badly to do that movie,” said the 60-year-old.

He explained how Dreamgirls‘ director Bill Condon came to see him in the Broadway production of Purlie! Anika Noni Rose also starred in the stage play at the time and she wound up landing a role in the film as Lorrell Robinson.

However, Underwood nearly snagged Foxx’s role, Curtis Taylor Jr., due to a conflict the singer had with his record label. “There was a conflict with the soundtrack. So for a week, [Condon] said if it doesn’t happen, the role is yours,” the Set It Off heartthrob added.
Gleefully, he reflected, “Ah, I’m gonna be in Dreamgirls with Jennifer Hudson.” The latter said it would’ve been an honor to work with him, but “Jamie is Jamie.” Funny enough, Underwood quipped, “I can’t sing, though. That’s the thing. I can carry a tune, but I can’t sing like Jamie.”

In a New Interview Kalenna Harper Accuses Cassie Of Using Drugs, Calls Dawn Richard A “Weird Bi**h”

Kalenna Harper is best known as one third of Bad Boy group Diddy-Dirty Money, alongside Sean “Diddy” Combs and former Danity Kane member, Dawn Richard. In a new interview, the singer speaks on her relationship both Diddy and Dawn, as well as Cassie, whom she says “liked getting high” during her tenure on the label.

During the chat with Breakbeat Media, uploaded to YouTube Wednesday (Oct. 30), Harper shares that she always admired Diddy, saying he’s someone she’s “always wanted to be like,” while calling Cassie — who sued Diddy for sexual abuse and was seen being assaulted by the mogul on camera — a naive woman who used drugs and had no problem handing out lap dances at parties.

“Love her to death. Naive. Liked getting high. She likes partying,” Harper described of the “Long Way 2 Go” singer. “I saw Cassie grow up from a little girl that was willing to, like, give everybody motherf**king, you know, lap dances, basically. You know, get drunk and just have a good, like, model time.”

When it comes to Dawn, Kalenna didn’t hold back, calling her former group mate a “weird bi**h.”
“I don’t f**k with Dawn like that,” Harper revealed, adding that she never witnessed the questionable behavior from Diddy that Richard described in her own lawsuit against him. “And I’m going to f**king stand on business, I didn’t see any of that. What I saw was, ‘what the f**k is going on with you, because you’re acting weird, you’re a weird bi**h,’ is what I see. And it’s a list of ni**as, where y’all at, talk about it. Dawn’s a weird motherf**ker, man!”

This isn’t the first time Harper has spoken up in defense of Diddy as the locked-up businessman faces several accusations of assault, sexual abuse and more. The singer also denied the claims raised in Richard’s lawsuit back in September, sharing on Instagram, “I, acknowledge the recent lawsuit filed by Dawn Richard in which my name has been mentioned 33 times. While I fully respect Dawn’s right to recount her experiences, l want to emphasize that her account reflects her personal perspective and should not be interpreted as a universal truth applicable to everyone involved.”

Diddy also defending himself following the suit, calling out Richard for seeking a “pay day.”

“Mr. Combs is shocked and disappointed by this lawsuit,” the statement from Puff’s attorney read. “In an attempt to rewrite history, Dawn Richard has now manufactured a series of false claims all in the hopes of trying to get a pay day — conveniently timed to coincide with her album release and press tour.”

Montel Williams Shuts Down Rumors of Alleged Kamala Harris “Tape”

Just over a week before the upcoming election, a baseless rumor about Vice President Kamala Harris and former talk show host Montel Williams began circulating on social media, with the potential to stir up controversy. Right-wing influencer Matt Wallace took to Twitter, claiming that a supposed “sex tape” involving Harris and Williams was being “shopped around” and could “break the internet.” Wallace suggested that the alleged tape could harm Harris’s campaign just days before the election.

The tweet quickly gained traction, attracting millions of views and sparking debate online. But Montel Williams wasted no time in responding to the rumors, delivering a calm yet pointed response that quickly set the record straight. “Wow, I hear a blogger I’ve never heard of got millions of views claiming someone is ‘shopping’ a sex tape of me that will ‘break the internet,’” Williams tweeted. He went on to state plainly, “Let’s ‘break the internet’ w/ truth – there is no tape. Kamala Harris’s surge clearly has some people worried.”

Williams’s response not only dismissed the rumor but also suggested that Harris’ rising momentum in the polls may be causing concern among some critics. Harris and Williams were once romantically linked in the early 2000s, but there’s no evidence of any video as Wallace claimed.

Megan Thee Stallion files lawsuit against blogger

Megan Thee Stallion is the latest cultural icon to file a lawsuit against a blogger for allegedly disseminating false and injurious information about them
The 29-year-old San Antonio-born rapper, whose real name is Megan Jovon Ruth Pete, filed the legal documents that were obtained by Billboard where Megan accuses YouTuber Milagro Gramz of being a “mouthpiece and puppet” for Megan’s ex-boyfriend Tony Lanez. The Canadian producer is serving up to 10 years in prison for, among other transgressions, firing the shots that injured Megan’s feet in the summer of 2020.

Megan Thee Stallion believes Tory Lanez is behind blogger’s inflammatory posts
Megan accuses the imprisoned rapper of using Gramz to unleash a campaign designed to “denigrate, belittle, insult, and spread false statements” to hurt Megan Thee Stallion. Specifically, Gramz posted a story that falsely claimed that an appeals court had declared Lanez “innocent” and repeatedly questioned whether Megan was even shot. The last straw came when Grams said Megan was “caught trying to deceive the courts,” and promoted the “outlandish claim” that the gun used in the 2020 shooting in Los Angeles had disappeared.

The vlogger, whose legal name is Milagro Elizabeth Cooper, is also being sued for cyberstalking, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and invasion of privacy.
“Enough is enough,” the lawsuit reads, according to the music-based publication. “Ms. Pete—a victim of violent crime and champion of women’s rights to her millions of fans worldwide—will no longer stand for [the] defendant’s campaign of harassment.”

Gramz responded. On X, she wrote that she’s “been informed that I’m being sued by Alex Spiro on behalf of his client Megan Thee Stallion.”
“Of course we’ll chat about it. They threw in the tape too,” Gramz added.
Through her attorneys, Megan said, “Defendant Cooper’s statements recklessly disregarded the truth and suggested that the firearm was never presented in court because it had allegedly disappeared. It has not … ”

Megan’s lawyers wrote. “The firearm remains in the custody of the Los Angeles Police Department.”
Megan is reportedly making an example of the blogger, stating that it is “time to hold bloggers accountable” who deliberately or recklessly promulgate erroneous and libelous information.

“I’ve endured countless attacks on my character based on false narratives from social media bloggers misrepresenting themselves as journalists,” she said in the statement. “It’s unacceptable behavior and these individuals need to understand there will be repercussions for recklessly posting lies and defamatory falsehoods.”

Dwyane Wade Sends Wife Gabrielle Union Flirty Message On Her Birthday
Dwyane Wade shows his deep affection for Gabrielle Union in an Instagram post that leaves fans swooning. Discover the touching and passionate gesture from the former NBA star on his wife's 52nd birthday.
Dwyane Wade has definitely got at least 10 things he loves about wife Gabrielle Union. The former NBA player not only had a sweet message for the "Bring It On" star's 52nd birthday on Oct. 29, but he also gave fans a peek into the not-so-entirely safe for work passion the couple share.

"Mrs. Wade," Dwyane wrote on his Instagram Stories alongside a photo of him and Gabrielle cuddling up together, with her wearing a sparkly black dress, "Happy Birthday!" The former Miami Heat player—who recently celebrated 10 years of marriage with Gabrielle—added a smaller message in the corner of the photo, writing, "That dress didn't last much long after this." Gabrielle agreed, sharing the photo to her own Instagram and adding, "That dress didn't stand a chance" along with several laughing crying emojis.

But Dwyane's birthday message wasn't just in Stories, as he also posted a montage of the two to his Instagram, set to a voice-over of the 42-year-old professing his love for Gabrielle. And of course, the "10 Things I Hate About You" alum was overwhelmed by the tribute.

Nicky Jam Renounces Donald Trump Endorsement Over Puerto Rico Slur

Puerto Rican reggaeton singer Nicky Jam has retracted his endorsement of Donald Trump for the 2024 presidential election. The move comes after a month-long association between the two sparked controversy.
The catalyst for Jam's reversal was a joke made by comedian Tony Hinchcliffe at a Trump rally in New York. Hinchcliffe referred to Puerto Rico as "garbage," offending Jam and many Puerto Rican celebrities.

In a video statement posted on Instagram, Jam explained his initial support for Trump stemmed from his belief that a businessman would be best for the U.S. economy, where many Latinos live. However, after Hinchcliffe's "disrespectful" comments, Jam said he felt compelled to renounce his support.
"Puerto Rico deserves respect," Jam said. "I'm stepping away from any political situation."

Jam's decision follows a wave of outrage among Puerto Rican celebrities over Hinchcliffe's remarks. Grammy Award winner Bad Bunny endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris shortly after, while actress Aubrey Plaza condemned the joke at a recent award ceremony.
Jam's previous appearance at a Trump rally drew attention after Trump introduced him as a "hot" woman. The Mexican pop-rock band Mana has since removed its 2016 collaboration with Jam from online platforms in solidarity with Puerto Rico.

Despite being U.S. citizens, Puerto Ricans cannot vote in general elections. However, their influence on mainland relatives remains potent. Bad Bunny's support for Harris is seen as a way of harnessing this power.
Jam's withdrawal from Trump's camp highlights the divide between the former president and the Puerto Rican community, particularly over issues of respect and cultural sensitivity.

Keke Palmer Breaks Her Silence on ‘Unhealthy’ Relationship with Ex Darius Jackson: ‘Hardest Thing I Ever Had to Go Through’
Keke Palmer is getting real about her tumultuous relationship with ex Darius Jackson, saying she had to turn to the courts in a desperate attempt to bring back order when things spiraled out of control.
Last year, a few months after the Nope star welcomed son Leo, with then-boyfriend Darius Jackson, 30, their seemingly happy relationship imploded after Jackson’s social media post criticizing a dress she wore to an Usher concert kicked off a viral firestorm. Then came allegations of domestic violence and a custody battle.
In all, “It was the hardest thing I ever had to go through,” she writes in her book. Now, after settling their disputes and reaching a good place with her ex, she’s finally ready to reflect.

Thinking back to when the relationship first started out, “It was like, not only is this the person, but this is the time. It felt very spiritual for Darius and I,” she says. “We had separate lonelinesses, and we created a space for us to exist in that loneliness together. And then we wanted to have a son. Leo was very planned.”

The pair appeared every bit the happy couple throughout her pregnancy and just after Leo was born in February 2023. But behind the scenes, “There was a lot going on,” she says, even before Jackson took to social media with a gripe that July.
“It’s the outfit tho . . . you a mom,” he wrote in response to a video showing Palmer wearing a sheer dress as she danced with Usher at his concert. Fans immediately came to her defense online, but Palmer writes that the relationship had already grown “unhappy and unhealthy.”

It had also become violent. In her request for a temporary restraining order granted by a court that November, she detailed multiple allegations of domestic violence, including when she says Jackson broke into her home and attempted to strangle her, an incident caught on video. He responded in court with his own accusations and alleged evidence that she abused him as they clashed over custody of Leo.

“It got so out of control,” she says. “The only way I knew how to bring order was through the court.” As for what initially went wrong between them, “having a baby was a big stressor,” she says, as was fame: “Not just with my romantic relationships, but with family and friends, it’s always become a burden. Too many voices get in. It can make everybody else not trust you. It’s hard to explain.”
Six months later, after court-ordered mediation, Palmer and Jackson settled amicably on a joint custody agreement. Looking back on the relationship, she writes, “I wish I could say he was terrible the entire time or that I was … but it wasn’t that black-and-white and that was the problem.” She continues, “I didn’t want my son to think his father is a monster, because I don’t.”

Her advice to anyone dealing with a similar situation: “Walking away is the only way.”
These days she’s found forgiveness and peace. In fact, “I’m so proud of him and happy for him,” she says of Jackson, who recently entered the military. “I feel very at ease now knowing things are under control.”
Master of Me: The Secret to Controlling Your Narrative by Keke Palmer comes out Nov. 19 and is available for preorder now, wherever books are sold.

Beyoncé fans organize national 'Beyhive for Kamala' call ahead of presidential election

Beyoncé fans are rallying behind Vice President Kamala Harris in the final days before the election and on the heels of an endorsement from the Grammy Award-winning singer.
Fans across the country joined together Tuesday evening for a national call, "Beyhive for Kamala," hours before presidential nominee Harris spoke at a rally in the nation's capital and one week before the next U.S. president is elected.

"Our love for (Beyoncé) brought us together and allows us to support each other through every struggle," said 28-year-old Earline Johnson who joined the call from Atlanta.
In hopes of getting fans "in formation" to vote for Harris on Election Day, the national call was organized by Kimberly C. Ellis, who goes by Dr. Goddess; Lakesha Cole, creator of the Beyhive for Kamala coalition; and Courtney Savoy Harper, creator of Clubhouse Beyhive, which is a room made within the popular audio app.

During the live stream, Ellis added that she looked forward to "voting out 45," in reference to Beyoncé's lyric from her 2022 song "Energy," where she sang about voting out the 45th president (aka Donald Trump).

"We've hosted many rooms on social issues important to Bey and our community. Her music continues to inspire us to fight for the change we want. Beyoncé always gives me the energy to fight for my rights," since her Destiny's Child era, said Johnson.

Rashad Trent, 28, who streamed from Charlotte, North Carolina, echoed those sentiments.
"This call is so important to me because I believe it's one of the first times I feel compelled to make a change," he said. "A lot of basic and essential human rights are at stake and with so many youth at arm's reach, (and) it's our job to create that village and spread the word."

On the call, speakers took the virtual stage including LGBTQ+ rights and culture activist Anthony Washington, reproductive health advocate Dr. Keisha Davis-King, LaTosha Brown of Black Voters Matter and founder of Win with Black Women Jotaka Eaddy.
Confirmed speakers who weren't able to attend the call included Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, and Rep. Summer Lee, D-Pa.

Beyoncé recently endorsed and joined Harris at a rally in the singer's hometown of Houston where she declared onstage, "I'm not here as a celebrity … but as a mother."
Months prior, Beyoncé and her family showed their support for the presidential nominee in other ways, including clearing the usage of her 2016 song "Freedom" as Harris' campaign song.

"The moment Beyoncé allowed VP Harris to use her song 'Freedom' as her campaign song and theme, was all the endorsement the Beyhive needed. This national call has been in planning since then, it was just even more fitting to have the call after Beyoncé attended the rally in Houston," 33-year-old Niguel Anthony, who is based in Atlanta, told USA TODAY after attending the national call.

And many Beyhive members felt inspired by the singer even outside this election cycle.
"Beyoncé’s music and the powerful themes in her lyrics act as a bridge, connecting us through shared stories of resilience, pride, and activism. By analyzing her lyrics and following her own journey in social justice, we find ourselves equipped to have dialogues that challenge, educate, and inspire," says Mary Samoa, 40, who attended the call from California.

Regina Hall Set To Produce A ‘Girls Trip’-Inspired Competition Show
Regina Hall is taking her talents to unscripted television. Hall and her production company, Rh Negative, scored a first-look deal with MGM Alternative — the unscripted division of Amazon MGM Studios — to develop and produce shows across a range of unscripted genres, including game shows, true crime, and docuseries’, per The Hollywood Reporter.

The first project is Squad Games, a competition show “loosely inspired” by the 2017 film Girls Trip that centers around “celebrities and their real-life BFFs on an exotic getaway where they compete in wild challenges.”
“I’m so excited for this new partnership with MGM,” Hall shared in a statement. “I’m positive that the relationship between Rh Negative and their team will be an incredibly supportive and productive one and I’m thrilled about what we have in the works.”

Barry Poznick, general manager of MGM Alternative, added, “Ever since we saw Regina Hall co-hosting the Academy Awards two years ago, we knew she had something special that would resonate with reality fans. Her humor, honesty, creativity and style of storytelling make her a perfect partner as we continue to expand MGM Alternative’s slate of premium unscripted programming.”

The announcement comes the day after Marlon Wayans revealed that he and his brothers, Shawn and Keenen Ivory, are returning to the Scary Movie franchise.
Paramount Pictures first confirmed the reboot this past April. Two months later, Anna Faris said she’d only consider reprising her role if Hall did the same.

Faris starred as Cindy Campbell in four installments of the infamous satirical parody with Hall as her best friend, Brenda.

Jaywalking Officially Legalized in NYC

New York City has officially legalized jaywalking, allowing pedestrians to cross streets without fear of being ticketed by police.
The City Council passed the bill back in February, and after Mayor Eric Adams failed to take action within the 30-day window, the legislation automatically became law as of late October.

The bill, sponsored by Brooklyn Council Member Mercedes Narcisse, aims to end racial disparities in jaywalking enforcement, a concern that has been building for years. Narcisse highlighted that over 90% of jaywalking tickets last year were issued to Black and Latino New Yorkers, emphasizing that laws penalizing common behaviors often unfairly impact communities of color. “Let’s be real, every New Yorker jaywalks. People are simply trying to get where they need to go,” she said in a statement.

For decades, NYPD has faced criticism for disproportionately issuing jaywalking tickets to minority communities. Streetsblog NYC reported that out of 467 jaywalking tickets given last year, 92% went to Black or Latino pedestrians.

The Legal Aid Society applauded the decision, stating that decriminalizing jaywalking removes a longstanding practice used as “a pretext to stop, question, and frisk New Yorkers, especially those from communities of color.” The organization hopes this will inspire further legislative efforts to eliminate laws that, it argues, only serve to entangle people in the criminal justice system without enhancing public safety.

Minneapolis Police Arrest Man in Neighbor’s Shooting, Admits “We Failed This Victim” After Months of Threats Reported
Almost a week after a Minneapolis man allegedly shot his neighbor, Davis Moturi, in the neck, the alleged shooter, John Sawchak, is in custody. This arrest follows a lengthy period of reported racial harassment and threats against Moturi, according to local reports and court documents. Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara admitted police failed to act quickly on nearly 20 complaints made by Moturi before the incident.

“We failed this victim 100%,” O’Hara stated. Video footage from a neighbor’s security camera reportedly shows Moturi, who was outside trimming a tree, suddenly collapsing to the ground. The shooting left Moturi hospitalized with serious injuries, including a fractured spine, two broken ribs, and a concussion.
Sawchak was arrested early Monday morning following an hourslong standoff with police. He now faces multiple charges, including attempted murder, felony assault, and stalking, per the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office. Sawchak’s lawyer stated he denies the allegations.

Court records show Sawchak has a documented history of harassment and had three outstanding warrants, including one for threats against Moturi. Moturi had made multiple 911 calls since last year reporting racially charged threats and behavior, yet Sawchak evaded arrest by refusing to answer his door. Chief O’Hara noted that police were cautious due to Sawchak’s past mental health issues, history of violence, and potential access to firearms.

Sawchak’s arraignment was held Tuesday, where bail was set at $1 million or $600,000 with supervised conditions. Sawchak remains in custody, with his next court date scheduled for November.

#FASHIONFAB: In or Out? CFDA Fashion Awards 2024 Da’Vine Joy Randolph in Wiederhoeft
Jackson Wiederhoeft brought their signature flair and storytelling approach to the 2024 CFDA Fashion Awards, dressing not only notable guests but also themself for the evening at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. The artist, designer, and visionary made his mark with bold, corset-inspired looks that leaned into both romance and theatricality.
Da’Vine Joy Randolph, who’s been delivering memorable red carpet moments this year, donned a Wiederhoeft corseted gown adorned with tulle accents. While the gown’s structure and detail aligned perfectly with Wiederhoeft’s design ethos, the color seemed a touch muted. This may have been due to the lighting, as on the runway, the color appeared far more vibrant.

I like it but do you think its IN or OUT?

#RHOA: Nene Leakes is Deemed “Unrecognizable” After New Photo Goes Viral and Prompts Plastic Surgery Rumors
There’s no denying that Nene Leakes is one of the most iconic reality stars in history. After all, she helped put The Real Housewives of Atlanta on the map. In the years since she was on the show, there have been quite a few discussions about what work she may or may not have done to her face. Of course, adults are allowed to alter their appearances however they feel, but fans are saying Nene is no longer recognizable.

It should also be noted that Nene has had a rough go of things lately. Sadly, her longtime husband, Gregg Leakes, passed away in 2021. Additionally, one of her sons, Brentt, has had major health issues, and the other one, Bryson, has been in trouble with the law. Also, Nene’s career hasn’t come close to the heights she experienced while on RHOA. Perhaps she feels the pressure to alter herself after experiencing tragedy as well as to get her entertainment career back on track.

Recently, the RHOA OG took to her Instagram Story to show off her looks, and The Neighborhood Talk was able to capture it. Specifically, it looks like she had just gotten her hair and makeup done and wanted to show it online. Her original post says she was in London. The social media blog captioned the photo, “Yesss 😍 Nene coming through the Neighborhood with a fresh beat! 🔥”

However, despite The Neighborhood Talk’s kind commentary, the fans highlighted how different she looks from the Nene that viewers grew to love and hate. The post also includes an older picture of the RHOA alum.

One fan commented and said, “She has to stop. This is getting weird.” Someone else wrote, “She got a new face every 3-5 business days 😳”
Some people pointed out that she’s still using FaceTune. They wrote, “Getting a whole new face just to STILL use a filter is crazy 😩”
Highlighting the drastic change, another person wrote, “Thank God for captions cause I had no clue who that was 🤦🏽‍♀️”

Finally, another person complimented and shaded her in the same sentence, writing, “Love me some Nene, but lord knows I didn’t recognize her.”
Of course, Nene looks gorgeous either way, and she still has a huge fan base that hopes to see her back on television in a significant way.

#MusicNews: Lady Gaga Goes Presents her 'Disease' Music Video:

Lady Gaga is gifting fans with a double feature, including the music video for her LG7 lead single – “Disease!”
On Tuesday (October 29), the hitmaker rolled out the visual for the stormy single, which arrived last week. Like the song, it signifies a return to a darker and weirder aesthetic that fans know and love.

WATCH:
She paired the video with a live performance of her Bruno Mars duet “Die With a Smile.”
Gaga reflected on the meaning of “Disease” and its accompanying video with a post on Instagram.
“I think a lot about the relationship I have with my own inner demons. It’s never been easy for me to face how I get seduced by chaos and turmoil. It makes me feel claustrophobic,” she wrote.
She continued, explaining, “Disease is about facing that fear, facing myself and my inner darkness, and realizing that sometimes I can’t win or escape the parts of myself that scare me. That I can try and run from them but they are still part of me and I can run and run but eventually I’ll meet that part of myself again, even if only for a moment.”

“Dancing, morphing, running, purging. Again and again, back with myself. This integration is ultimately beautiful to me because it’s mine and I’ve learned to handle it. I am the conductor of my own symphony. I am every actor in the plays that are my art and my life. No matter how scary the question, the answers are inside of me. Essential, inextricable parts of what makes me me. I save myself by keeping going. I am the whole me, I am strong, and I am up for the challenge. Happy Halloween,” she concluded.

#HipHopNews: Ye And Adidas Reach Settlement After Ending Yeezy Deal
Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, and Adidas have reached a settlement in their long, drawn-out legal battle. On Tuesday (Oct. 29), the footwear giant’s CEO, Bjørn Gulden, revealed that all claims were dropped, with neither party owing the other any financial retribution.
“Both parties said we don’t need to fight anymore and withdrew all the claims,” Gulden shared, per Bloomberg. “No one owes anybody anything anymore. So, whatever was is history.”

Adidas terminated its partnership with Ye in 2022 following his anti-Semitic remarks, which included the “All Falls Down” rapper saying he would go “[DEFCON] 3 on Jewish people.” The German label issued a statement: “Ye’s recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful and dangerous, and they violate the company’s values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness.”

Since then, the rapper has addressed his controversial remarks on songs like “VULTURES” and “KING,” both of which appeared on VULTURES 1.
Gulden broke his silence about their partnership coming to a close during the “In Good Company with Nicolai Tangen” podcast, where he described Ye as “one of the most creative people in the world.” The CEO shared, “That caused [Adidas] to break that contract and withdraw the product. [It’s] very unfortunate because I don’t think he meant what he said, and I don’t think he’s a bad person. It just came across that way.”

The situation dealt a financial blow to Adidas, which saw a $655 million drop in sales during the last quarter of 2022. It also left the company with a net loss of around $551 million that year.
The Ye and Adidas settlement arrived months after the Grammy Award winner called them out for selling “non-approved” Yeezy 350 V2s in a “Steel Grey” colorway. He called out other celebrities for remaining silent while an “actual Fortune 500 company [rapes] one of your heroes in real life.”

Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans Reunite For ‘Scary Movie’ Reboot: “WE’RE BACK!!!”

Whazzzzzzzuppppp! Marlon, Shawn, and Keenen Ivory Wayans are officially back on Scary Movie, with the pair set to reboot the stalled franchise.
Deadline reports that the pair is back in the world of the parody slasher after 18 years away from the movies. A Scary Movie reboot was previously announced at CinemaCon back in April, with Rick Alvarez attached to the project as a writer. It’s been reported now that the film is set to shoot in 2025 and is planned for a theatrical release through Miramax and Paramount.

Marlon took to Instagram to reveal the news with a picture showing himself posing in a pair of Air Jordans alongside the killer, Ghostface, in some Rick Owens boots. “Last week, I said I had a HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT to make. Well, here it is… WE’RE BACK!!! After nearly 20 years, the Wayans brothers are finally going to give the fans what they’ve been asking for…a return to the SCARY MOVIE franchise! We’re looking forward to having fun on the big screen again,” he captioned the post.

“We couldn’t be more excited to be a part of the new Scary Movie and work with each other again. This is a franchise we created more than 20 years ago. We remember people laughing in the aisles and hope to see that happen again,” Marlon, Shawn, and Keenen said in a statement. “We look forward to working with Jonathan Glickman and his team at the new Miramax to bring these laughs to theaters, where they belong. It’s a double reunion.”

Jonathan Glickman, Miramax’s boss, released a statement following the announcement. Glickman also referenced a return to Scary Movie glory in his remarks, explaining that their decision to tap the Wayans Bros. was based on bringing back their “unique comedic vision” to the franchise.

50 Cent Says He & Omari Hardwick Aren’t Cool Anymore: ‘He Overvalues Himself’
50 Cent recently discussed his strained friendship with former “Power” star Omari Hardwick, revealing that the two are no longer on good terms.
If you’ve been following, you know Omari has voiced frustrations about his “Power” character, James “Ghost” St. Patrick, being killed off after six seasons.

He’s also been outspoken about his pay on the show, even claiming that his role provided the proof of concept that led to four “Power” spinoffs. Unfortunately, these unresolved issues seem to have affected their friendship.
While chatting with “The Breakfast Club”, 50 Cent confirmed the fallout, saying, “I think he overvalues himself.
50 also felt slighted by Omari’s comments about his pay, which he interpreted as a personal attack.
“He leaves it like it’s me not giving you the money,” 50 explained.
“If he’s saying it and he’s going, ‘Courtney and 50 know.’ You’re saying that – they don’t know who TF Courtney is – I introduced people to her. They don’t know who she is. So, you’re leaving it, ‘50 didn’t make sure I got paid.’”

Omari Hardwick is the only cast member from the “Power” universe that has openly complained about his pay.
Do you think it is because he was underpaid or do you agree with 50 Cent that he “overvalues” himself?

Skai Jackson sparks pregnancy rumors during recent outing

In a surprising turn of events, actress Skai Jackson has seemingly confirmed pregnancy rumors that have circulated for months. The Disney star was recently spotted by paparazzi, and the images suggest that she is indeed expecting a child. This revelation comes on the heels of a tumultuous period in her life, including a recent arrest.

Jackson, known for her role in Disney Channel’s “Jessie,” has been the subject of speculation regarding her personal life, particularly concerning her potential pregnancy. The recent paparazzi photos have reignited these discussions, as fans and followers eagerly try to piece together the details of her situation.
The images have been featured in various media outlets, further fueling the conversation around her pregnancy. This comes after a notable incident in August 2024, when Jackson was arrested for domestic battery. During that incident, she reportedly claimed to be expecting a child, although the charges were later dismissed.

Skai Jackson’s personal challenges
Jackson’s recent arrest and the subsequent rumors about her pregnancy have undoubtedly placed her in the public eye. Despite the challenges she has faced, including legal troubles and personal scrutiny, she has managed to maintain a level of privacy regarding her pregnancy status. As of now, she has not publicly confirmed her pregnancy, leaving fans to speculate about her future.

In addition to the rumors surrounding her pregnancy, there have been reports that Jackson was engaged at one point. However, details about her engagement remain unclear, and it is uncertain how these personal developments may impact her life moving forward.

Public reaction and support
Fans of Jackson have taken to social media to express their support and excitement regarding the possibility of her becoming a mother. Many have shared messages of congratulations, hoping for the best for the young actress during this transformative time in her life.

In the meantime, it’s essential to respect her privacy as she deals with these significant life changes. The entertainment industry can be unforgiving, and public figures often face immense pressure to share their personal lives with the world. For now, congratulations are in order for  Jackson as she embarks on this new journey, whether she chooses to share it publicly or not.

Tekashi 6ix9ine arrested by federal authorities
Tekashi, whose birth name is Daniel Hernandez, allegedly violated the terms of his supervised release from prison on three occasions, according to the court order obtained by TMZ.
Tekashi allegedly violated his probation multiple times
The court docs state that a federal judge wants Tekashi, 28, to appear before him for three reasons: performing in Las Vegas without notifying probation authorities in advance, failing a drug test, and failing to appear for a drug test on another occasion.

Tekashi’s attorney, Lance Lazzaro, said the drug test was most likely a false positive for methamphetamines. Tekashi has been taking Adderall.
According to Lazzaro, the court notified Tekashi two weeks ago that he needed to turn himself in and gave him a specific date. When Tekashi was an hour late for his mandatory court appearance, the judge reportedly dispatched U.S. Marshals to snatch him up.
However, Tekashi turned himself in without incident on Tuesday morning, Lazzaro informed TMZ. He was scheduled to be arraigned the same afternoon.

Tekashi is disliked by most hip-hop fans for being a rat
As most pop culture fans know, Tekashi evaded a nearly 50-year prison sentence in 2019 by turning state’s evidence on a notoriously violent street gang, the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods, that he was affiliated with. He was even reportedly confronted by Crips while jailed inside the Metropolitan Correctional Facility in Brooklyn in late 2018, the same jail that Sean “Diddy” Combs is now housed in for sex trafficking and racketeering charges.

Channing Tatum And Zoe Kravitz Break Up, Call Off Engagement After 3 Years Of Dating
Channing Tatum and Zoe Kravitz have called it quits. According to a new report, the "Magic Mike" actor and the "Big Little Lies" star called off their engagement after three years of dating.
Multiple sources told PEOPLE on Tuesday, October 29 that the pair decided to go separate ways. The outlet, however, didn't reveal the reason behind the couple's split as reps for both stars have yet to comment on the matter.

Prior to this, Zoe appeared to hint at their separation. The daughter of Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet had been featured ditching her engagement ring during recent outings, including one where she joined her "Big Little Lies" co-star Shailene Woodley at Buvette in New York City.

Channing and Zoe started dating after working together in Zoe's feature directorial debut "Blink Twice". The two fueled dating rumors when they were seen on several dates in New York City in the summer of 2021.
The couple took their relationship to another level when they got engaged in October 2023. The "High Fidelity" star showed off her 7-carat diamond engagement ring when they stepped out on Halloween weekend.
At the time, the couple was snapped making their way to Kendall Jenner's Halloween party. For the occasion, Zoe opted to dress as Rosemary Woodhouse from the 1968 horror movie "Rosemary's Baby". Channing, meanwhile, transformed into the baby.

The pair additionally put a united front at the premiere of "Blink Twice" in Los Angeles in August of this year. Zoe even wrote a gushing letter to the "She's the Man" actor which read, "From producing to performing to the pep talks to holding my head or my feet while I cried on the bathroom floor because I thought I f**ked it all up, thank you for letting me be a complete OCD psycho control freak. Thank you for your patience."
"Making this film with you has been an awfully great adventure. Thank you for trusting me to female direct you," Zoe added, before concluding, "It's really very cool to get to make a movie, but when you get to do it with the love of your life, it's even cooler."

Chris Brown broke up Halloween party fight between Diddy Sons and Ray J
At a Halloween party, Diddy’s sons nearly fought Ray J over his remarks about their father. Chris Brown stepped in to cool tensions.
Things got tense at a Halloween bash in Los Angeles when Diddy’s sons and Ray J clashed in a heated exchange, ready to fistfight each at the parking lot, PageSix reports. Report states that after the party, Diddy’s sons Quincy, Justin, and Christian confronted Ray J over his recent comments about their father, leading to an intense face-off outside. Meanwhile, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs remains in jail after his bail was denied twice with a trial date set for 2025.

The incident, which nearly escalated into violence, was thankfully defused by Chris Brown, who intervened to prevent a physical clash.
The alleged heated altercation between the Combs brothers and William Ray Norwood Jr., aka Ray J, occurred outside Unruly Agency CEO Tara Electra’s Halloween party. The American R&B star had recently made some controversial comments about the disgraced music mogul, which didn’t sit well with Diddy’s sons, who were also guests at the event. The brothers reportedly surrounded Ray J — who was with Amber Rose and his manager, David Weintraub — as they headed toward the parking area.

Ray J has been openly critical of Diddy since a CNN video surfaced showing the music mogul physically abusing Cassie. During an interview with Shannon Sharpe on the Club Shay Shay podcast, Ray J a longtime friend of the Bad Boy records producer acknowledged Diddy's past mistakes but stated that their relationship could not be repaired due to the severity of the incident.

The men reportedly confronted each other aggressively, even chest-bumping in the heat of the moment. Luckily, Chris Brown was driving by and caught everything happening. He quickly got out and got involved to cool things off and stop it from turning worse.
This wasn't the first time Diddy's sons had a run-in with Ray J. It seems like Christian, Quincy, and Justin have been trying to talk to him about his comments a bunch of times. They even tried to stand up to Ray J three times in different places, the outlet reported. However, a source said, “Ray J is always going to stand his ground on what he says, but he has never said anything negative about Diddy’s situation.”

Ryan Murphy's '9-1-1' Franchise Expands To Hawaii
Ryan Murphy and Tim Minear's untitled "9-1-1" spin-off is reportedly eyeing Hawai'i as its backdrop. Despite initially considering Las Vegas, the 50th state has become the top contender due to its tropical allure and cultural charm.
The franchise's other installments, "9-1-1" and "9-1-1: Lone Star", have been set in Los Angeles and Austin, respectively. Hawai'i would join a long list of shows set in the islands, including "Rescue: HI-Surf, "Gilligan's Island" and "Magnum P.I."

However, filming in Hawai'i is not without its financial challenges. First responder dramas, such as the "9-1-1" shows, are among the most expensive to produce, often featuring star-studded casts and elaborate effects. The cancellation of "Lone Star" and "NCIS: Hawai'i" underscores the financial constraints in producing such shows in Hawai'i.

ABC may need to explore options to mitigate these costs, such as hiring less expensive actors or reducing production quality. However, this could potentially compromise the show's familiarity and appeal to viewers.

Despite the challenges, Hawai'i's unique tropical setting fits well with the aspirational tone of Murphy's recent productions, such as "Doctor Odyssey" for ABC. The island's allure is undeniable, but its high production costs remain a concern.
Meanwhile, the flagship "9-1-1" series continues on ABC, with "9-1-1: Lone Star" concluding its fifth and final season on FOX. Discussions are underway for a potential spin-off to launch in the 2025/2026 TV season, though no official announcement has been made.

VP Harris Holds a rally speech at The Ellipse in DC with 75,000 attending!
This election is still a dead heat, according to most polls. In a fight with such wafer-thin margins, we need reporters on the ground talking to the people Trump and Harris are courting. Your support allows us to keep sending journalists to the story.
Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign claimed she drew a crowd of more than 75,000 people in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday to hear her speech at the Ellipse, the site of Donald Trump’s infamous 2021 speech exhorting supporters to “fight like hell” in the moments just before the January 6 Capitol riot.

If its own early estimate is to be believed, the Harris event drew about 22,000 more people than the Trump speech, whose crowd was estimated by the House committee investigating the Capitol riot to be about 53,000 people.
Trump routinely exaggerates his crowd, with January 6 2021 being no exception. He has claimed that he had as many people in attendance that day as Martin Luther King Jr attracted for his “I Have a Dream” speech near the Lincoln Memorial, on August 28 1968.

Speaking at the Ellipse, a park between the White House and the National Mall, Harris sought to paint a clear contrast between herself and her Republican opponent and offer a “closing argument” to voters.
“America, we know what Donald Trump has in mind. More chaos. More division. And policies that help those at the very top and hurt everyone else. I offer a different path. And I ask for your vote,” Harris told the crowd.

“And here is my pledge to you: I pledge to seek common ground and common sense solutions to make your lives better,” she added. “I am not looking to score political points. I am looking to make progress.”
The message could not be more different than Trump’s speech at the site, where he made false claims about the election and railed against Republicans who would not go along with his plan to halt the congressional certification of Joe Biden’s 2020 win.

Musiq Soulchild and Hit-Boy Announce ‘Victims & Villains 2’

Victims & Villains 2 is set to release on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, 2025. The first single, “October 31st,” featuring rapper Dave East, drops on Halloween this Thursday, Oct. 31.
“Get ready to dive into this chilling vibe! Because Relationships Can Be Scary!” Musiq Soulchild posted to his 648,000 Instagram followers.

“October 31st” is available for pre-save/pre-add on major streaming services such as Amazon Music, Apple Music, and Spotify.
Soulchild and Hit-Boy released the first installment of Victims & Villains on March 10, 2023. The 10-song offering, ranked No. 7 on Rated R&B’s 25 Best R&B Albums of 2023 list, included the popular tracks “white rice déjà vu” and “beat of a slow dance.”

In a 2023 interview with Rated R&B, Soulchild explained how Victims & Villains came about. “It was an opportunity that presented itself, and I just leaned into it. I got in contact with Hit-Boy, picked some beats [and] came up with some cool concepts with my writing partner,” he shared.
“I didn’t originally set out to write an album. I was just recording songs to kind of keep myself busy long enough to — you kind of lose it a little bit… lose the passion, lose the fire. But I was like, ‘Why not? It’s been a minute. It’ll be cool to put something fresh out in the streets.'”

Beyoncé Honors 'National Treasure' Willie Nelson Alongside Photos from Kamala Harris Campaign Event: 'I Admire You'
Beyoncé is paying tribute to one of the greats! The singer, 43, shared photos of herself and her Cowboy Carter collaborator Willie Nelson to Instagram on Monday, Oct. 28, showing the pair posing together at Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign event in Houston on Oct. 25.

Nelson, 91, took the stage to perform at the event, before his fellow Texas native Beyoncé introduced the presidential hopeful, 60, in an impassioned speech.
"The Great Willie! You are the coolest!" Beyoncé captioned her photo gallery, which also included shots with mom Tina Knowles. "I admire you, and I sincerely thank you for being the pioneer you are."

The "Texas Hold 'Em" singer continued to address Nelson, "Thanks for your impactful music, your advocacy, and the gracious way you appreciate and celebrate other artists! You are 1 of 1."
"You were so kind to me and the girls of Destiny’s Child when we fanned out meeting you years ago.
And you greeted me with the same kindness 20 years later!" Beyoncé wrote. "You are one of our national treasures."

She concluded, "Sending my love to you ❤️🐝🇨🇱🤠."
The 32-time Grammy winner was joined by her longtime friend and Destiny's Child bandmate Kelly Rowland at the Harris event in Houston.
As Beyoncé took the stage to introduce Harris, she made it clear that as a mother of three, she is concerned about the future of America. (The singer shares daughter Blue Ivy, 11, plus 7-year-old twins Rumi and Sir, with husband JAY-Z.)

She also urged those who were tuning in to cast their vote, telling them their voices and votes matter. "Your freedom is your God-given right, your human right."
Beyoncé continued by pointing out that Texans, specifically those from Houston, "play a pivotal role to change the course of our future."
"We must vote. And we need you. It's time to sing a new song," the Lemonade artist added.

Beyoncé’s appearance came months after she allowed Harris’ first campaign video to feature her song “Freedom” in July, shortly after the vice president entered the presidential race.

SAG-AFTRA Reaches Deal on AI Protections With Digital Replica Company Ethovox

As part of its efforts to build industry standards around artificial intelligence protections for actors, SAG-AFTRA announced a deal with AI company Ethovox on Monday as it creates a “foundational voice model” that serves as the basis for digital replicas.
As part of the contract with Ethovox, which was founded by video game voice actor Cissy Jones, SAG-AFTRA members who lend their voices to the development of the model will receive both session fees and ongoing revenue sharing for the life of the foundational model.
In addition, no single actor will have their voice recognizably replicated by the model, as it requires volumes of voice samples to build a foundation.

The Ethovox model will not be user-facing, and the voices included in the model will not be identifiable in any of the speech generated.
“Ethovox is the only voice AI company owned and managed by voice actors, and we are pleased to be partnering with SAG-AFTRA on building a foundational voice AI model that prioritizes the interests of voice actors,” Jones said in a statement. “AI should be a choice. For that reason, we have reached out to the voice actor community throughout this process. Ethovox will continue to do so as we demonstrate that artists can, and should, be compensated for contributing to ethical AI development while also maintaining consent and control over their voice data.”

The Ethovox deal joins those made by SAG-AFTRA with other AI companies, including Narrativ, which will allow members to license their digital voice replica for use in audio ads, and video game voice company Replica Studios.

While the deals have been met with some pushback from SAG-AFTRA members who see any use of AI as a threat to their livelihoods, national executive director Duncan Crabtree-Ireland has stressed the importance of building a standard of ethical AI use to counter exploitation of actors’ performance and likenesses without their consent or compensation.
“What will safeguard voice actors’ livelihoods in the AI age is more contractual protection, not less,” Crabtree-Ireland said. “That’s why SAG-AFTRA will continue to recognize AI companies, like Ethovox, that agree with our union’s AI guidelines. Not everyone will want to work with an AI company, and that’s understandable. But for those who intend to utilize the opportunities AI offers, it’s important that agreements require companies to secure informed consent and provide fair compensation. Without informed consent and fair compensation, this new era will become a ‘Wild West’ of AI misuse and exploitation.”

Meanwhile, SAG-AFTRA is scheduling a new round of negotiations with video game companies signed to the Interactive Media Agreement, looking to reach a deal after going on strike this past July over what the union says are inadequate proposed AI protections.

Australia Denies Entry to Candace Owens Over Controversial Nazi Comments
*Australia has denied entry to right-wing influencer Candace Owens due to her controversial comments about Nazi medical experiments and the Holocaust.
“From downplaying the impact of the Holocaust with comments about [Nazi doctor Josef] Mengele through to claims that Muslims started slavery, Candace Owens has the capacity to incite discord in almost every direction,” Immigration Minister Tony Burke told Australian outlets.

“Australia’s national interest is best served when Candace Owens is somewhere else,” Burke added.
Owens was set to kick off her speaking tour on Nov. 17 in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, and Adelaide. She was also slated to speak in Auckland on Nov. 14.

“Tickets to these events are selling for $100,” Burke told in The Sydney Morning Herald. “I hope she has a good refunds policy.”
In July, Owens suggested on her podcast that Mengele’s experiments on twins at Holocaust death camps “sounds like bizarre propaganda.” Several local leaders reportedly began campaigning this summer for Australia to reject her visa.

“Australia has no place for those who mock the suffering of genocide survivors and insult the memories of the 6 million Jews who perished,” Dvir Abramovich, chairman of the Anti-Defamation Commission, told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.
Owens spoke to Sydney radio station 2GB about the ban.
“It’s kind of incredible to think people could be so fearful of just speech and conversation,” she said. “I was quite surprised to see that: they were like ‘Don’t give her a visa, she’s a bad person’. But I promise you it is not going to harm you to hear different ideas.”

Marlon Jackson On the Last Moments With His Brother, Tito Jackson

Marlon Jackson is finally opening up about the death of his brother Tito Jackson.
In a video posted to TikTok during one of The Jacksons’ latest performance in Atlantic City over the weekend, Marlon detailed his last moments with his late brother and explained the heartbreaking moment he found out his brother passed. As previously reported, the beloved member of The Jackson 5 and elder sibling to Michael and Janet Jackson, died at age 70 after suffering a heart attack.

Speaking to the crowd over the weekend, Marlon said:
“The thing about it is that, Tito had called me and we were on the phone laughing and joking, cracking jokes. An hour later, I got a phone call, I talked to the doctor and they told me he didn’t make it. I said what do you mean? His friend called me and told me ‘Tito is in the hospital and they’re working on him.’”

Marlon went on to say how doctor’s put in a breathing tube to help his brother but it was ultimately to no avail. What’s more, Marlon then panned to a part of the stage that held a microphone stand that was adorned with one of Tito’s jackets and his bowl hat and asked the crowd to engage in a moment of silence while his brother Jackie and nephew Taryll quietly held back their emotions behind him.
“On Sept. 10, 2001, we had our last show with our brother Michael. On Sept 10, 2024 -last show with Tito,” Marlon said before breaking down into tears.

TGI Fridays Shuts Down Nearly 50 Locations in Recent Days Signaling a Possible Bankruptcy Filing

Beloved casual dining chain TGI Fridays is facing some serious challenges, with its future hanging in the balance.
The restaurant, which has been a staple in America for nearly six decades, has closed almost 50 locations over the past few days. Now, the company has just 164 locations left in the U.S., down from 270 at the start of 2024. The shutters are taking place as the company nears what appears to be an inevitable bankruptcy filing. These closures have occurred in cities such as Columbus, Ohio, and Buffalo, New York. In January alone, 36 underperforming establishments from coast to coast were shut down.

In recent years, TGI Fridays has struggled to keep the lights on. Faced with high inflation and a shift in consumer habits that favors home-cooked meals over eating out, the chain that once stood for everyday indulgence has had a hard time finding its footing in the changing food industry.  Chapter 11 bankruptcy could enable the company to shed unprofitable leases, restructure its debt, and possibly emerge with a smaller, sustainable presence. Still, even such measures may mean more closures and much-diminished Fridays.

The company’s plight mirrors other well-loved restaurants, including Red Lobster, Buca di Beppo, and BurgerFi, which have recently sought bankruptcy protection.
