#HipHopNews: Megan Thee Stallion Returns With ‘MEGAN: ACT II’ Featuring Flo Milli, TWICE And More
Megan Thee Stallion graced the Hotties with her second project of the year, MEGAN: ACT II, on Friday (Oct. 25).
The 13-song collection opened with Megan paying homage to her roots on “Bigger In Texas,” which also arrived with an accompanying visual effort. The track is followed by “Bourbon” and “Number One Rule,” where the Grammy-winning artist showed love to Beyoncé and SZA.
Elsewhere on the body of work, Megan reunited with Flo Milli for “Roc Steady” and girl group TWICE for a remix of “Mamushi.” The latter song originally peaked at No. 36 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Other contributions come from Spiritbox and BTS’ RM, who graced the mixtape’s final cut, “Neva Play.”
During her sit-down with “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” earlier in the week, the Good News rapper explained her reasoning for releasing the LP: “I feel like I have to keep the Hotties fed and keep them stimulated. You have to understand this is the year of Megan Thee Stallion.”
June’s MEGAN landed at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart, making it her second best-selling project with 64,000 album-equivalent units. “I wanted to show people my personal interests and thoughts. I wanted to touch on my love for all things anime, all things Southern, how much I like to have fun, and I wanted to be myself. I feel like I did that,” the Houston native told the publication.
She added, “A lot of people were expecting me to come on this album talking one way, and I wanted to introduce myself — this version of myself that I am right now.” Outside of music, Megan’s upcoming documentary, Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words, will be released on Oct. 31 via Amazon Prime Video. The musician is expected to touch on her mother’s passing, rise to fame and more in the film.

Beyoncé Officially Endorses Kamala Harris At Her Houston Rally
On Friday (Oct. 25) evening, Beyoncé took the stage at Kamala Harris’ Houston rally to speak “as a mother,” not a politician or the globally recognized musician she is. The “BREAK MY SOUL” artist gave an empowering speech before welcoming the VP on stage with Kelly Rowland by her side.
During the event, Beyoncé lauded Harris as “a woman who's been pushing for what this country really needs right now: unity.” She added, “It's impossible not to feel the energy in this room, the positivity, the community, the humanity. We are at the precipice of an incredible shift. The brink of history."
The Texas native further shared, "[I’m here as] a mother who cares deeply about the world my children and all of our children live in. A world where we have the freedom to control our bodies. A world where we're not divided — our past, our present, our future merged to meet us here."
Beyoncé and JAY-Z share three children. Their eldest, Blue Ivy, was born in 2012, while Rumi and Sir — the couple’s twins — were welcomed into the world in 2017.
"Imagine our daughters growing up, seeing what's possible with no ceilings," Beyoncé said to the cheering crowd. "Imagine our grandmothers. Imagine what they feel right now, those who have lived to see this historic day. Even those who are no longer physically with us, imagine all of their sacrifice. The sacrifices made so we can witness the strength of a woman standing in her power, reimagining what leadership is. For all the men and women in this room and watching around the country, we need you."
Beyoncé’s appearance added to the long list of celebrities who’ve spoken or performed at Harris’ rallies. Thus far, celebrities like Lizzo, Megan Thee Stallion, Knowles, Quavo, Halle Bailey and Usher are among the many who have lent their support to the Oakland, California, native.

Angel Reese Asserts She Can “Afford” Her Bills Now With Reebok Contract
The joke comes after she revealed that her WNBA salary barely covers her expenses.
Angel Reese has made it clear that she can pay her monthly bills just fine — especially since she’s now extended her contract with Reebok.
The Chicago Sky star will continue her relationship with the sports apparel brand while also releasing a signature sneaker, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania as of Thursday (Oct. 24). Reese initially signed with Reebok last year while attending LSU.

Reese reportedly made $73,439 in her rookie season as the No. 7 overall pick of the 2024 WNBA draft. Besides her base pay, the 22-year-old has also signed a slew of endorsements, including Raising Cane’s, Topps, Airbnb, Tampax and Beats by Dre. She also recently dropped her Unapologetically Angel podcast where she’s already seen much traction for her past guests including Kayla Nicole, Shaquille O’Neal, GloRilla and more.
Additionally, with Reese’s sneaker gearing up to release under Reebok, that’s sure to bring in much revenue for the company, as well.
“I’m extremely excited to let you guys know that we are officially coming out with a Reebok by Angel signature shoe,” she said in a statement, per Bleacher Report. “We’ve already kicked off the design process, and it means the world to me to have Reebok’s full support and confidence with this shoe and overall partnership.”

Nicole Murphy opens up about the loss of her boyfriend Warren Braithwaite
Actress and model Nicole Murphy has recently shared her heartfelt reflections on the passing of her boyfriend, Warren Braithwaite, who succumbed in March to a battle with multiple myeloma, a rare form of blood cancer. In an emotional interview on the “Tamron Hall” show aired on Oct. 25, Murphy revealed the challenges they faced during their nearly two-year relationship.
Initially, reports indicated that Braithwaite had died from cancer, but Murphy clarified that his condition was more severe than previously understood. “He had multiple myeloma cancer, it’s blood cancer,” she explained. This type of cancer affects the bone marrow and is often difficult to detect early. Murphy noted that treatment primarily involves chemotherapy, which Braithwaite had undergone.
The impact of illness on their relationship
Murphy shared that Braithwaite had been diagnosed with multiple myeloma long before they met. As a fitness enthusiast, she observed how the disease took a toll on his health. “It’s like when you catch a cold, you get rid of it in maybe four or five days. Him it would take a month, and I just saw the decline,” she recalled. The revelation of his diagnosis initially made her question the future of their relationship, but her feelings deepened as she got to know him better.
Love and support in difficult times
Despite the challenges, Murphy expressed that Braithwaite treated her like a queen and that she had no regrets about caring for him during his illness. She recounted spending nights in the hospital by his side, stating, “I was like, ‘You sick, I’m sick.’” Their bond grew stronger as they navigated the complexities of his health issues together.
Facing the reality of his condition
During the interview, Murphy reflected on a poignant moment when Braithwaite expressed uncertainty about attending the Super Bowl in February 2024, saying, “I don’t know if I’m going to make it.” This foreshadowing was difficult for her to accept, especially as she believed in the power of manifestation. Unfortunately, after returning from the event, Braithwaite’s health deteriorated, leading to a hospital stay where he ultimately contracted COVID-19 alongside pneumonia.
Cherishing memories and moving forward
Murphy described Braithwaite as someone who was dedicated to his health, often going to the gym and maintaining a healthy diet. She fondly recalled moments they shared, including attending her son Myles’ wedding just months after they publicly announced their relationship. Murphy emphasized the importance of living life to the fullest, stating, “Go do it, what you’ve been dreaming about.” This philosophy has become a guiding principle for her following Braithwaite’s passing.
Community support and reflection
After Braithwaite’s death in March, Murphy took a break from social media but eventually returned to share her grief and memories. She expressed her sorrow in a touching tribute, stating, “It’s so hard not hearing your voice or seeing your face. You were my world & my everything.” Fans and followers have rallied around her, offering condolences and support as she navigates this difficult time.

Steve Harvey sets the record straight on Bernie Mac rumors
In a recent appearance on the docuseries “Black Comedy in America,” Steve Harvey addressed longstanding rumors regarding his relationship with the late comedian Bernie Mac. The discussion, which included fellow comedians Cedric The Entertainer and D.L. Hughley, sought to clarify misconceptions about their camaraderie and the alleged tensions that have circulated since Mac’s untimely death 16 years ago due to sarcoidosis.
Understanding the legacy of Bernie Mac
Bernie Mac, a beloved figure in the world of comedy, was known for his larger-than-life personality and his ability to connect with audiences. His contributions to the comedy scene, particularly as a member of The Original Kings of Comedy, have left an indelible mark on the industry. However, following his death, rumors began to surface suggesting that there was discord among the Kings of Comedy, particularly regarding how they treated Mac during his career.
Harvey’s perspective
During the interview, Harvey expressed his confusion over the rumors, stating, “When I hear stuff about us and I hear stuff about the dissension, I don’t really know what they talking about.” He emphasized that Bernie Mac was a “man’s man” and that any claims of mistreatment were unfounded. Harvey elaborated, saying, “You mistreat this dude right here? You know the problem you’re going to have instantly? That was an impossibility. That was a man’s man.” This statement underscores the deep respect Harvey and his peers had for Mac, dispelling the notion that there was any animosity within their group.
Fueling the fire: Katt Williams’ comments
The rumors gained traction earlier this year when comedian Katt Williams made comments on the podcast Club Shay Shay. Williams claimed he had been offered a spot on The Kings of Comedy tour but declined due to the alleged mistreatment of Bernie Mac by the group. He stated, “You think I’m gonna let you sh-t on Bernie and then come get me?” This assertion reignited discussions about the dynamics within the Kings of Comedy and their treatment of Mac.
Denial of allegations
In response to Williams’ claims, Harvey, Cedric, and Hughley have categorically denied offering any other comedians Mac’s spot after his passing. Harvey reiterated, “I know the truth,” emphasizing that the bond they shared with Mac was genuine and that they would never disrespect his legacy. The trio’s commitment to honoring Mac’s memory is evident in their refusal to engage in any narrative that suggests otherwise.

Sade Issues Heartfelt Apology To Transgender Son On Moving Song 'Young Lion'
Sade returns with her first song in six years, a heartfelt apology to her transgender son, Isaak Adu. Released as part of an EP featuring songs supporting the transgender community, "Young Lion" is a powerful message to her son, who came out in 2016.
In the song, Sade sings, "Young man/ It's been so heavy for you/ You must have felt so alone," expressing her regret for not realizing his true identity sooner.
Addressing his reaction to the song in an interview with Rolling Stone, Adu said he found her lyrics, "Forgive me, son, I should have known," particularly moving. He emphasized that he had nothing to forgive his mother for, as she had always supported his true self.
However, he recognized the significance of the song for the transgender community. "A song where a parent apologizes for misunderstanding their child can hold immense significance," he said. "It serves as a beacon of hope and a reminder that parents can learn, grow, and accept their children for who they are."
The song is based on a letter Sade wrote to Adu on his 21st birthday. While Adu initially considered it "personal," he later decided that "the world must hear it."

Susan Olsen claims Brady Brunch revival was cancelled because of her anti-trans views
Susan Olsen, the actress best-known for playing youngest child Cindy in the 70s sitcom The Brady Bunch, has said that plans for a revival of the show were cancelled because of her views about the LGBTQ+ community.
In an interview on the conservative podcast WalkAway Campaign, Olsen said development began for a reboot but that it stalled because of her previous support for Donald Trump, questioning COVID-19 vaccines, and her views regarding queer people.
Now 63, the star thought the comments were in keeping with her character, because she wanted to portray a grown-up Cindy as a right-wing podcaster.
“I am what I was going to portray,” she said. “What kind of show would this be if I can’t say anything controversial? Everybody was saying: ‘We’re sorry, but they just won’t budge. They just will not have you in this’.

“I was like: ‘Wow, I’ve been cancelled’. A role I’ve played for over 50 years, I can’t play it now because I’m too dangerous. I was like. ‘OK guys, good luck, I hope you can sell it’.”
Susan Olsen went on to point out that people are legally protecting from being fired for their political views but not if they hadn’t been hired in the first place and revealed that she had a call with the showrunner and producer to discuss moving forward with the reboot, even offering to take a course in “political correctness”.
They diagreed with her opinions and had “drank every drop of the Kool-Aid”, she added.
During the call, the subject of vaccines and transgender children came up.
Olsen claimed she was told she could not say that “the vaccine was not safe or effective” and that the production team spoke about the high suicide rates among trans children who don’t receive gender-affirming medical treatment.
According to Olsen, the reboot was set to include one of Cindy’s sister Jan’s kids being trans. She asked if the show could “show both sides” with her being the aunt “talking them out of doing something permanent” but this was not welcomed by the studio.
“There was also a Black spouse. To that I was like: ‘Come on, let’s not be so obvious… let’s make this spouse somebody who has a really close relationship with another Brady, and that’s how this Brady met them. Give them a foundation so this isn’t a token position’,” Olsen added.
“How many times have I watched something on TV and I’ve read the book and am thinking: ‘Wait a minute, that character wasn’t gay, that character wasn’t trans?’ Come on…”
Olsen dismissed the question of systemic racism in the US by pointing to the fact that voters “elected a Black president twice”.
The producers apparently suggested that Cindy’s political views could work if it became “a teaching moment”, with the younger members of her family telling her “gay people are OK”, but Olsen rejected the idea.
“I will not let you make Cindy a bigot. That is not a teaching moment, that is a ‘Cindy is an a**hole moment’. I don’t own the rights to the character, they can write her any way they want, but I don’t want to play her that way,” she said.
This is not the first time Olsen has lost out on a job because of her views. She was fired from LA Talk Radio’s Two Chicks Talkin’ Politics in 2016 after sharing anti-LGBTQ+ views on social media. Bosses announced her departure by saying they would “not tolerate hateful speech by anyone associated with our radio station”.

Actor James Franco admits he is still estranged with his old friend and collaborator Seth Rogen, but “not for lack of trying” on his part.
“No. I haven’t talked to Seth,” Franco told Variety while promoting his latest film, “Hey Joe,” at the Rome Film Festival. “I love Seth, we had 20 great years together, but I guess it’s over. And not for lack of trying. I’ve told him how much he’s meant to me.”
Still, Franco isn’t crying foul that he was “canceled” by Rogen or the rest of Hollywood.
“I mean, it is what it is. I’ve honestly moved past it,” Franco said. ”[The legal issues were] dealt with, and I got to change. So that’s it, it’s over.”
Franco and Rogen worked on various projects together over their decades in Hollywood, including the “Freaks And Geeks” TV series and movies like “Pineapple Express” and “The Interview.” But Franco’s career took a nosedive in 2021 amid allegations he engaged in sexual misconduct with two students in his acting class.
Franco agreed to pay $2.2 million to settle the resulting lawsuit, but the accusations put a damper on his relationship with Rogen. In 2018, in the immediate aftermath of the allegations, Rogen had said he’d stick by Franco, but by 2021 he said he was no longer working with his friend.
“The truth is that I have not and I do not plan to right now,” Rogen told told the Sunday Times.
In that interview, he admitted the accusations against Franco had impacted their friendship, but he also refused to flat out say the relationship was over.
“I don’t know if I can define that right now during this interview. I can say it ...has changed many things in our relationship and our dynamic,” Rogen said.

Woman Accuses Chris Brown of Drugging Her on Diddy’s Yacht in Upcoming Documentary
Chris Brown and Diddy are no strangers to legal troubles and it seems that their troublesome paths may have converged as an unnamed woman has accused Brown of drugging her on Diddy’s yacht in 2020.
The anonymous woman (who is referred to only as Jane Doe) made the allegations in the Investigation Discovery Documentary, Chris Brown: A History of Violence, which is set to debut on October 27. She alleges that she was living in Los Angeles at the time and had taken a trip to Miami where a friend invited her to a party on Diddy’s yacht in late December.
The woman, an aspiring dancer, claims that she briefly spoke with Brown before he gave her a drink. According to People, the woman claims that she had little memory of what happened next, saying, “I’m not even sure… this is when my memory starts getting a little bit weird….I don’t remember if I saw him pour it, but I just drank it and he just hands me another drink. As I’m standing there, I did start to feel tired and my body was feeling a little heavy.” She claims that the singer raped her and did not use protection. The two apparently communicated via text message following the incident.
According to People, Doe claims that she worked with a legal team to attempt to prosecute the case, but a judge ultimately dismissed the case “without prejudice” in 2022, citing “lack of prosecution,” according to court documents. Her lawyers dropped her as a client when police uncovered the text messages between her and Brown.
However, Doe is apparently now pursuing charges again via other avenues. She is represented by attorney Ariel Mitchell, who said in a statement: “I adore my client and I believe what happened to her is 100% true. I feel that I failed her as an attorney because I couldn’t make her comfortable enough with me in such a short period of time where she felt 100% comfortable being forthcoming with me.”
Meanwhile, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is currently being held in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center on racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution charges. Neither Combs nor Brown’s representatives have commented on the most recent allegations.
The documentary, which explores Brown’s past allegations of abuse and run-ins with the law, is set to premier on October 27 on ID. It was made by the same production company that produced the docuseries Quiet On Set about the Nickelodeon child abuse scandal. Both pieces are part of the production company’s “No Excuse for Abuse” campaign.

Apple Cuts Production of $3,500 Vision Pro Headset Amidst Lackluster Demand
Apple’s Vision Pro headset, initially launched in early 2023 at a premium price point of $3,500, is reportedly facing a series of production and demand challenges less than a year after its debut.
Sources indicate to tech platform The Information that Apple has scaled back production since mid-2023, with some insiders suggesting that the tech giant may even pause manufacturing of this inaugural version by the end of the year. Reports from Luxshare, Apple’s assembly partner in China, also reveal that production has been halved from 2,000 units per day to around 1,000, highlighting a noticeable shift in output.
Limited consumer demand for the Vision Pro’s high-end model, attributed to both its steep price and slow app adoption, appears to have played a significant role in this recalibration. While Apple has managed to sell around 370,000 units within the first three quarters of 2023, this falls significantly short of broader market expectations, especially when contrasted with Meta’s more affordable Quest series, which dominates sales at a $300 price point.
This initial response is prompting Apple to rethink its AR product strategy. Speculation is growing that a more budget-friendly version of the Vision Pro may be in the works, potentially launching in 2025. Such a pivot would align with Apple’s broader ambitions in augmented reality, with rumors circulating about several other AR initiatives, including smart glasses and AirPods equipped with camera capabilities.
While the launch of the Vision Pro didn’t capture a wide consumer base, Apple appears to be playing a long game. CEO Tim Cook acknowledged that the Vision Pro was intended for early adopters, or “people who want tomorrow’s technology today.” Analysts view Apple’s measured production cut as a strategic pause, giving the company time to recalibrate for a more inclusive lineup that could make Apple’s AR vision accessible to a broader audience.

Composer Sues Kanye West for Misleading Contracts and Unpaid Work on Opera Project
Kanye West is facing more legal trouble. New York composer Willie Alexander has filed a lawsuit against the producer and his companies, alleging unpaid work and misleading practices. According to court documents, Alexander claims Kanye, along with Very Good Touring, Inc., Yeezy LLC, and Access Opera, misrepresented their intentions and misused his likeness. The dispute began when Kanye’s team contacted Alexander in September 2019 through mutual friend Charles Carter to compose music for Kanye’s opera, “Nebuchadnezzar.”
Alexander asserts he was urged to fly to Cody, Wyoming, on short notice, leaving behind existing commitments. He initially requested $15,000 due to the abrupt schedule, but Kanye’s team countered with $6,000, which Alexander reluctantly accepted. On arrival, Alexander discovered that “Nebuchadnezzar” was unwritten, and he was expected to complete the composition in four days. He continued to work on the project until the performance day and was then enlisted to work on Kanye’s next opera, “Mary,” without receiving payment for his work on “Nebuchadnezzar.”
Further complications arose when “Nebuchadnezzar” was streamed on Tidal, a detail Alexander alleges Kanye’s team withheld from him. Alexander’s lawsuit argues that Kanye’s companies earned $4 million from the Tidal stream despite Alexander’s work going unpaid.
“[Kanye’s associate] misrepresented… a ‘reasonable rate’… and failed to inform [Charles] that “Nebuchadnezzar” was unfinished,” Alexander’s lawyer stated.
The lawsuit also claims Alexander suffered missed job opportunities and financial harm due to Kanye’s team’s alleged misrepresentations. Alexander is seeking unspecified damages, with Kanye yet to respond to the allegations. This suit adds to other recent legal troubles for Kanye, who was previously sued by a former assistant over alleged misconduct.
