#MAGFAB: Wicked" Actress Cynthia Erivo For The Ebony 100 The Power Issue
Cynthia Erivo is in a lane of her own and taking the scenic view. She talks with EBONY about how good it feels to live in her own power.
Stepping into your power takes boldness, tenacity and a little faith. Actor, singer and activist Cynthia Erivo, our EBONY Pathbreaker of the Year, exuded those magnetic qualities the moment she stepped onto the set for her POWER 100 cover shoot, her presence eliciting a sharp intake of air from all those around her.

At a gorgeous two-story, post-and-beam home in the Hollywood Hills of California, the award-winning star stood on a high outdoor ledge, her hands sporting her signature nail art from her expert technician, Rose Hackle. She moved rhythmically to music as she settled into each pose. Dressed in Louis Vuitton, Erivo evoked a confident stance with just a turn of the head and her eyes glancing upwards, one that has undoubtedly become even stronger as she lives in her truths.

As we sat down in the living room to talk, her voice was softly animated, sometimes conveying the giddiness of a teenager, though her achievements are those of a woman twice her age. Among the home’s wooden panels and an air of sixties grooviness, she shared what it means to be a pathbreaker in today’s world.

“It means a great deal. It means that you veer away from the ordinary path that is usually set by others, and you can create something of your own,” she told EBONY. “It’s really cool that a path, hopefully, is stretching out behind me for other people to walk, and I’m giving them a different way to walk it.”
Erivo has always been a champion for others and those who feel othered. With her latest role as Elphaba in Wicked, the movie musical adaptation of the hit Broadway musical, out on November 22, she brings a personal connection to the “wicked” witch who was shunned because of her green skin.

“I think most of my life is having to prove myself when I walk in. Though that can be deeply frustrating and hard, I decided it’s my strong suit,” she shared.
“I don’t mind being underestimated because there’s something wonderful about having to watch people eat their words when you prove them wrong. There’s a bit of joy in being able to overcome people’s preconceived notions of what you can and cannot do. I think it’s a bit of my superpower.”

It’s that same superpower she’s brought to playing some of America’s most phenomenal women, fictional and real, from Harriet Tubman and Aretha Franklin on screen to The Color Purple’s Celie on Broadway. While not without critique, and she respects those who feel a way about this, Erivo has turned it into an opportunity to learn from these iconic women who have defined our nation.

“We might come from different places, but we have some of the most similar experiences, that unfortunately, a lot of the world sees us as our skin color first,” she said. “It takes them a second to recognize our humanity. But we can do that for each other.”
In the last year, Cynthia has walked in her power, lived in her truth and advocated for those like her. The biggest honor for her in this part of her beautiful journey has been to see herself and encourage others to do the same.
Here, this bold and brave, petite and powerful being discusses how the roles she’s chosen have enriched her life, why she rejoices in her otherhood and what brings her–and hopefully the rest of the world–joy.
EBONY: Much has been said and written about Elphaba’s story paralleling the plight of the Black woman. How did you relate to that part of her story?

Cynthia Erivo: There is a mirror between Elphaba and Black women being othered and having to prove yourself when you walk into the room. I think, just because of how I walk through the world as a queer Black woman, in this skin, there is an intrinsic knowledge of what that feels like to be the other and not necessarily the norm.

One of the things that stands out in Wicked is that Elphaba wears her hair in braids. Why was that so important for this characterization?

I wanted it to be a bit of a nod and love story to Black women because that is what I am. And it’s such a recognizable thing for us; I don’t even think it was a thought for me. I knew immediately that that’s what I wanted to do. When it came to [Elphaba’s] styling, [director] Jon M. Chu and [producer] Marc Platt, they just went with me. They really gave me the space to express who I wanted her to be on screen.

#RHOA: OH LOOK! Nene Leakes and Kenya Moore Have a Surprise Run-In (and Matching Luggage!) at the Airport
The two Real Housewives of Atlanta alums shocked fans when they unexpectedly ran into each other at an airport on Thursday, Dec. 19. In a video posted to Leakes' Instagram Stories, the 57-year-old documented the hilarious exchange.
"Oh my gosh, you guys! Look at how I ran into," Leakes exclaimed while Moore, 53, laughed and danced in the background. "Not only was she in London, we bumped into each other at the airport."
"Is this enough filter Kenya?" Leakes joked as Moore quipped back, "Relax on those filters!"

In response, the Glee alum revealed that her glam was all-natural, saying, "This is skin! I don't have on any makeup!"
The video ended with Leakes pretending to steal Moore's luggage. The duo both traveled with matching Louis Vuitton suitcases. In the subsequent slide, the Bravolebrities posed for a smiling photo.
Leakes and Moore's happy reunion comes after Moore's unceremonious exit from RHOA in June after she allegedly exposed explicit pictures of new cast member Brittany Eady while filming.

During an appearance on Tamron Hall in November, Moore addressed the controversy and took "full accountability" for her actions.
"Hindsight is always fifty, fifty," she said. "If I could do it all over again, I believe the photos were very distasteful, and I elevated the situation. I've elevated situations before, and I've taken full accountability for the things that I've done."
"I didn't have to take it that far," she continued. "But when I felt threatened, I've never had a child in a situation like this before. So, that's why it escalated to the point where I was protecting not only myself, but my child."
In July, Leakes also commented on Moore's departure from the Bravo show in an interview with E! News.

"I don't know if I was surprised. I know that, over the years, Kenya has always pushed the envelope a little bit,” Leaks told the outlet. "Listen, those girls do a lot of things. I don't think I'm surprised at all."

#HipHopNews: Lil Baby Officially Announces His New Album ‘WHAM’ Will Release On Jan. 3, 2025
Lil Baby’s forthcoming album, WHAM, will be released on Jan. 3, 2025. He announced the release date after his sold-out birthday show on Saturday (Dec. 7) at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. He has been teasing the new LP on social media for a few months.

Lil Baby has been met with a high level of critique since his public feud with Gunna. The “Bigger Picture” track creator seemingly sent multiple shots at his former collaborator after Gunna took a negotiated plea to be released from prison during the YSL RICO trial. Artists like Boosie Badazz, Future, Lil Durk and many others have also distanced themselves from the “HIM ALL ALONG” recording artist.

While he never came out specifically and name-dropped Gunna, fans believed Lil Baby was calling out Gunna on his track “350” when he rapped, “Ain’t never say nothin’ ’bout it, n**ga, you know you a rat.” Gunna shot back on “prada dem” and addressed claims that he snitched when he said, “I set the trend, I'm a trendsetter (Yeah)/ I'm not a rat, still gettin' cheddar (Gettin' cheddar)/ Audemars wrist, timeless (Timeless)/ Certified factory diamonds (Factory diamonds).”

When fans felt as if they needed to choose between the two, some believed that Lil Baby’s music quality had taken a dip while Gunna had grown as an artist. My Turn was regarded as one of the best albums of the year upon its release in 2020, the “We Paid” rapper did not receive the same critical acclaim for his 2022 project, It’s Only Me. While the album is still seen as a commercial success, public interest in Lil Baby has declined over the years.

In a clip of him performing at his birthday show, one fan shared, “If this album ain’t lit, Gunna better. The debate will be over.” Someone else claimed, “This album make or break for his ahh, cause the album his LAST chance.” Another user stated, “Unless he drops a fire single, bruh might do 40k first week.”

On Friday (Dec. 6), Lil Baby unleashed the first single from his new album titled “Touchdown.” The football-themed track is produced by Wheezy, 9Jay and Dez Wright.

Karen Huger’s RHOP Return Could Be ‘Impossible’ After Guilty DUI Verdict

Real Housewives of Potomac OG Karen Huger is not only facing a possible jail sentence, but now her job may be at risk. In March 2024, Karen was allegedly speeding in her Maserati when she crashed into two signs and a median. She was charged with DUI; something she decided to take to court. However, the jury didn’t find in Karen’s favor.
Karen was found guilty of driving under the influence, failure to control speed to avoid a collision, negligent driving, and failure to notify authorities of an address change. She was found not guilty of reckless driving.

Right now, Karen’s sentencing date is in January 2025, and she is looking at up to two years in jail. Let’s face it, that bodycam footage was damning. She referred to herself as “Thomas Jefferson’s concubine.” Oof.

Unfortunately, this isn’t Karen’s first DUI. She was reportedly arrested a decade earlier. In that case, Karen received probation after pleading guilty to driving while impaired by alcohol.
So, how will this affect Karen’s role on RHOP? “Shooting for the upcoming [current] season is done,” an insider told Daily Mail. “But after her DUI arrest, Karen Huger will not be asked to return unless she cleans herself up.” The source continued, “Right now, she is on the chopping block. Of course, she may go to jail which would make it impossible for her to return anyway.”

It seems that Karen’s behavior on the police bodycam is a serious issue. “She was obnoxious to police and disrespectful of the law enforcement. This will all be taken into consideration,” the insider stated, “and she is going to have to get sober before any decisions are made.”

Then another insider weighed in. “People feel like she is in so much pain after losing her parents but it is still not an excuse for her behavior,” the source said. “It is sad to watch the bodycam footage. She could have seriously hurt, if not killed someone.”

Daily Mail reached out to Karen’s reps but did not hear back.
Karen’s attorney spoke out after the verdict. “We continue to reserve Mrs. Huger’s right to an appeal and intend to fully pursue justice on her behalf,” A. Scott Bolden said. Meanwhile, Andy Cohen also shared his shock at Karen’s guilty verdict. “I think it’s all sad. I haven’t really processed it yet,” Andy explained. “But I think it’s very sad.”

Only time will tell if Karen will be returning to Potomac as the Grand Dame. It looks like the next move is up to Karen.
Real Housewives of Potomac returns January 5, 2025 on Bravo.

TELL US – SHOULD KAREN RETURN TO RHOP NEXT SEASON? WILL SHE RECEIVE JAIL TIME?

Kirk Franklin Explains How He Landed On GloRilla’s ‘Glorious’ Album
Kirk Franklin joins Rocsi Diaz and Deion Sanders on their weekly We Got Time Today series and explained how he landed a feature on GloRilla‘s Glorious debut album in the song “RAIN DOWN ON ME.” The collaborative track fuses Hip-Hop and gospel and also features Maverick City Music, Kierra Sheard, and Chandler Moore.

“This is what I’m talking about Kirk,” affirms Diaz. “You just take it to the next level. You embrace the younger generation and they love you,” she continued before asking about the collaboration.
The full episode airs on now

“We were at the Grammys two years ago and we ran into each other on the red carpet. She was really excited to meet me and I was shocked that she was excited to meet me,” began the 54-year-old in response
“I was like ‘So what you trynna do you trynna collab?'” to GloRilla’s approval. “They reached out a few months later after that. She had a record she thought I would be cool on and yeah. We shot a video for the song last month. It’ll be coming out real soon.”

Earlier this year, the Memphis rapper also shared her side of the collaboration with Charlamagne Tha God, detailing how the song originally had a Kirk Franklin sample.
“My people had sent it to him,” explained the Grammy-nominated rapper of sharing the idea with the “Stomp” performer. “He did it so quick and so fast. I was so happy.” She continued to elaborate on her longstanding desire to do a gospel record, noting “RAIN DOWN ON ME” was created over a year before the album was released.

“Everything that I said on there, I actually felt… I knew I wanted a gospel record on the album. They helped me come up with the name of the album too… Kirk Franklin brought it together.”
We Got Time Today premiered on Tubi last month and brings the expertise of the two cohosts front and center as they add context to pop culture and trending news with real conversation.

“Everybody that’s on ain’t trying to educate and inform and enhance,” explained the Colorado Buffaloes football head coach. “They just want to be seen. We’re comfortable at our age and stage of life, [and with] who we are, what we are, how we got there, and where we going. Our goal is to uplift you.”
The series is executive produced by Sanders and Jesse Collins Entertainment’s Jesse Collins, Dionne Harmon, Madison Merritt, and Elaine Metaxas. Watch a teaser for We Got Time Today below and tune in every Tuesday on Tubi.

Jay-Z plans to show ‘zero’ loyalty to Diddy as he fights lawsuit
Jay-Z reportedly has “zero” loyalty to embattled music mogul Diddy and will employ whatever tactics necessary to untangle himself from the sexual assault lawsuit.
As reported, Diddy and Jay-Z are co-defendants in a legal filing by a woman, identified as “Jane Doe,” who claims she was drugged and raped by the two at an MTV Video Music Awards afterparty in 2000 when she was 13 years old.

The Daily Mail reports that the Roc Nation founder has already separated himself from the Bad Boy boss in the past year.
Jay-Z is reportedly making it clear that he and Diddy are not friends
“Jay-Z would absolutely throw Diddy under the bus if that is what it took to clear his name and walk away from this,” the newspaper quotes a source. “He has zero loyalty to Diddy.”
Once investigations began focusing on Diddy after the video showing his alleged assault of Cassie and the subsequent raids on his mansions, followed by his indictment and arrest, Jay-Z reportedly made a decision not to defend him.

“The moment Diddy was arrested, Jay-Z scrubbed him from his existence. He is going after [lawyer Tony] Buzbee for himself and not for anyone else,” the newspaper states.
“The only thing that he cares about is him never stepping foot inside a jail cell and his family being safe. Jay-Z is extremely powerful and will deploy any tactic necessary.”

Jay-Z’s legal fight with attorney Tony Buzbee is not to help Diddy
Furthermore, Jay-Z’s legal team’s work to discredit attorney Tony Buzbee, who has filed a class-action lawsuit against Diddy, is not to help Diddy but to vindicate himself.
“Jay-Z is more than ready to throw Diddy under the bus to defend himself if that is what it takes and doesn’t want anything to do with his lawsuits,” the source stated. “Any notion that Jay is trying to help Diddy by going after Tony Buzbee is false. He doesn’t care about Diddy.”

House Ethics Committee releases Matt Gaetz investigation report

The bipartisan House Ethics Committee released its much-anticipated report on ex-congressman Matt Gaetz on Dec. 23, despite his filing of a federal lawsuit to prevent its release, revealing scathing new details, such as:

From at least 2017 to 2020, Representative Gaetz regularly paid women for engaging in sexual activity with him.
In 2017, Representative Gaetz engaged in sexual activity with a 17-year-old girl.
During the period 2017 to 2019, Representative Gaetz used or possessed illegal drugs, including cocaine and ecstasy, on multiple occasions.
Representative Gaetz accepted gifts, including transportation and lodging in connection with a 2018 trip to the Bahamas, in excess of permissible amounts.

In 2018, Representative Gaetz arranged for his Chief of Staff to assist a woman with whom he engaged in sexual activity in obtaining a passport, falsely indicating to the U.S. State Department that she was a constituent.
Representative Gaetz knowingly and willfully sought to impede and obstruct the Committee’s investigation of his conduct.
Representative Gaetz has acted in a manner that reflects discreditably upon the House.

The report went on to discuss in detail how combative Gaetz was with the committee’s investigation efforts, including blowing off depositions and subpoenas. The report also notably discussed that there was simply not enough evidence to find that the ex-congressman participated in sex trafficking under the federal statute.

Gaetz actually admitted earlier this year that the Justice Department launched a separate investigation against him into sex trafficking allegations involving underage girls, but that the investigation quietly ended last year without federal charges, thus implying he was exonerated. However, many people were confused about how such a conclusion could be made since his once-political ally, Josh Greenberg, was charged. The same investigation resulted in a plea deal with Greenberg admitting — as part of a plea deal with prosecutors in 2021 — that he paid women and an underage girl to have sex with him and other men. The men were not identified in court documents when he pleaded guilty. Greenberg was sentenced in late 2022 to 11 years in prison.

Gaetz immediately went on the defense after the report’s release by posting snippets of depositions from committee witnesses he said refuted claims he paid for sex.
“Giving funds to someone you are dating – that they didn’t ask for – and that isn’t “charged” for sex is now prostitution?!?,” he posted Dec. 23 on X. “There is a reason they did this to me in a Christmas Eve-Eve report and not in a courtroom of any kind where I could present evidence and challenge witnesses.”

Continued fallout from the report’s release is expected in the coming days.

Shameik Moore Apologizes After Laura Harrier Calls Him a 'Weirdo'
Shameik Moore has expressed remorse for a misunderstanding between him and Laura Harrier.
On Friday (Dec. 20), the White Men Can't Jump actress posted a TikTok detailing that she once asked the actor-singer to delete a year-old video of them taking pictures together, which suggested that the two were dating. That couldn't be the case, as Harrier is engaged to creative consultant Sam Jarou, which she stressed in the TikTok.

"I texted him, 'Hey, can you take this down? I’m not sure why you would post that. Also, I am literally getting married and I don’t like this insinuation that there’s something going on between us if that was your intention,'" Harrier said of her text message to Moore.
According to Harrier, the Across the Spider-Verse star left the video up, to which she called Moore a "fucking weirdo." "I just wanted to say something, because I don't like that," Moore said, adding that she doesn't like her "marriage being disrespected."

Moore responded in a since-deleted video, claiming that "this is all a misunderstanding." "It's really the fan fiction, man. It's the commentary... that's what's fucking weird," Moore said. He ended by saying that he "means no harm" and that the video was about "art" to him because of the song it included.
"That’s it. It wasn’t insinuating any relationship. I apologize for the misunderstanding. I do," he concluded.

Family Matters Star Jaleel White Responds To Backlash Over ‘Hood’ Comments

Family Matters star Jaleel White is responding to backlash he received for suggesting his sitcom was overlooked by Black fans because it wasn’t “hood.”
White initially made the controversial remark while promoting his memoir “Growing Up Urkel.” During an appearance in Delaware, White suggested that Family Matters isn’t as beloved among Black fans as shows like Living Single and Martin because it wasn’t “hood.”

"If it's not a hood story, it's not a Black story, and sometimes I feel left out of that. If there's ever a poll and they say, 'What are your favorite Black shows"...[if] Martin is in there or Living Single, or any of those kinds [of shows], I already know we're (Family Matters) coming in last,” White previously said.

The former sitcom star faced online criticism over his comments. Social media users said White had mischaracterized other Black shows as “hood.” Others said the actor failed to acknowledge that Family Matters was created by a white person so its stories didn’t resonate as deeply with Black audiences.
White attempted to clarify his comments while recently appearing on the “Higher Learning” podcast.

“I want to say, I misspoke, but I could’ve worded things better if I had known I was speaking on a world stage and not just a small room in Delaware,” White said. “I shouldn’t have invoked the word ‘hood.’ When you say the word ‘hood,’ it makes certain people feel like you’re demeaning them. And that’s not what I meant at all. I conflated a couple of ideas. There’s a lot of good in the hood, and I shouldn’t have generalized. Those are the two mistakes I made in that.”

Several social media users weren’t satisfied with White’s clarification of his controversial comments.

Fans Are Freaking Out Over The Way Rihanna Eats Her Nuggets
Rihanna knows how to relate to the masses. Whether it's through her music, her skincare line, or her bold fashion choices, Riri. just. never. misses. And thanks to her latest Instagram post, we have just a little bit more insight into how the pop star gets through the day-to-day as a mother of two.

It should come as no surprise that Rihanna's food choices are as bold and cutting edge as she is. As you'll see in the video, she doesn't do fast food just like everyone else—in true Riri style, she puts a luxe spin on a classic staple. When ordering takeout for her kids, she makes sure the meal works for all parties involved, herself included. So to make those nuggets more palatable and elevated, she tops them off with a healthy heaping of caviar. That's right, nuggets + caviar = a match made in heaven.
This content is imported from instagram. You may be able to find the same content in another format, or you may be able to find more information, at their web site.

But Rihanna isn't the only celeb in on the trend—on a recent episode of On My Plate taped at Delish Kitchen Studios, Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Meredith Marks revealed she enjoys caviar on pretty much anything..."You can have caviar pasta, caviar pizza, caviar tacos, caviar eggs, caviar everything!" And the love for the high-brow meets low-brow pairing runs in the franchise: Real Housewives of New York star Erin Lichy famously served guests at her Hamptons house Pringles topped with caviar, instantly spawning a new staple to many a girl dinner tableau. Plus, popular New York City speakeasy Please Don't Tell famously serves tater tots with caviar, cementing the fact that caviar can be paired with just about anything. In fact, the more nostalgic of your childhood, the better it seems.

Wendy Williams' Son Says Mom Is 'Sober' And Wants To Come Home Amid Dementia Battle
Wendy Williams' son, Kevin Hunter Jr., has given an update on his mother's health amid her ongoing battle with dementia. Hunter Jr. took to Instagram to reveal that Wendy is "sober and wants to come home." He expressed his determination to facilitate her return, emphasizing that isolation is exacerbating her condition.
Last week, Wendy attended her son's graduation from Florida International University, visibly emotional as she witnessed his academic milestone. Despite her mobility assistance, she appeared cheerful and supportive.

According to Hunter Jr. in her documentary airing early this year, Wendy's health concerns stemmed from alcohol-induced dementia, a condition she developed due to excessive drinking. The former "Wendy Williams Show" host has also been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, primary progressive aphasia, Graves' disease, and lymphedema.
Wendy's guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, has previously stated that she is "permanently incapacitated" due to her dementia. However, her family has expressed concern over limited access to her, citing a lack of communication from her medical team.

Despite challenges, Wendy's family remains hopeful that she is receiving appropriate care and support. Per her medical team, she retains some independence, her sense of humor, and has regular phone conversations with loved ones.
Amidst Wendy's health issues, her guardian waged a legal battle against Lifetime, the network that aired her docuseries. They accused the network of taking advantage of Wendy, citing unfair paycheck from the documentary among other things.

TikTok Prankster Charles Smith Faces Felony Poison Charge After Spraying Bug Killer on Supermarket Produce
TikTok prankster Charles Smith is facing charges including introducing poison, criminal damage and endangerment after filming himself spraying pesticide on fresh produce at an Arizona Walmart store.

The 27-year-old allegedly entered a Walmart and stole a can of pesticide. He then sprayed it across fresh produce, including vegetables, fruit, and rotisserie chickens. Smith filmed the incident and posted it on TikTok, but later deleted it.
According to court documents, Smith returned to the store to collect the items after receiving negative comments online. Detectives identified Smith as the suspect and arrested him on December 21. “Once he left, he began to see comments online saying how horrible the act was, and he decided to return and collect the items,” the documents state.

During an interview, Smith admitted to stealing and spraying the pesticide. He now faces charges of criminal damage, endangerment, theft, and introducing poison.

Smith’s TikTok videos often feature provocative pranks that aim to cause controversy. He earns between $6,000 and $10,000 per month from TikTok.
Walmart removed all affected products and thoroughly cleaned the area. The Mesa Police Department emphasized the dangers of reckless social media pranks and the consequences of such actions.

In his TikTok bio, Smith calls himself a “tycoon creator” and “supreme villain.” His videos regularly garner more than one million views, with some clocking as many as 12 million views.
Recent videos on Smith’s page include pranks in which he uses a bike lock or bungee cord to lock customers inside open businesses while he stands outside the doors, as well as places raw bacon inside a laundromat washing machine being used by a stranger.

According to The Republic, Smith later uploaded two videos that showed removing produce from the shelves and relocating them within the Walmart store.
The TikToker told the outlet that all of the produce was “thrown away right after.” He added that “no one was poisoned.”

#FASHIONFILES: Gucci Pre-Fall 2025 Collection has a ’70s Flow to it!

Gucci’s pre-fall 2025 collection taps into the liberated ethos of the 1970s, reworking house codes with a modern ease. The decade’s hedonistic charm appears in subtle details: exaggerated collars peek beneath jackets, while cropped wool shorts and patterned socks set a relaxed tone.

There’s a sense of control in the tailoring—oversized suit jackets and wide-leg trousers channel clean minimalism, while shirts with neck bows add a romantic edge
Outerwear takes prominence, playing with textures and volume. A shaved velvet-effect hoodie skews tactile, its ribbed construction recalling retro sportswear with a plush upgrade. Meanwhile, a grained leather jacket thrown over sharp-cut shorts nods to defiant styling—equal parts punk and prep.
Oversized coats lean dramatic, cinched at the throat with high-gloss collars that twist tradition into something contemporary. It’s confident. It’s wearable.
Accessories provide the finishing exclamation. Flora prints, long a Gucci signature, find new life knotted into scarves worn as head wraps or neck adornments. Meanwhile, loafers deliver impact with stud embellishments and penny inserts.
Altogether, Gucci’s take on the 1970s provides an evolution—a wardrobe for those who move forward but keep one eye on where style has been.

#RHOA: Alum Peter Thomas Reacts To 18-Month Prison Sentence: “See You Guys Soon”
Peter Thomas is ready to “face the music” in his tax fraud case, as the former Real Housewives of Atlanta star pleaded guilty to the offense this week, and has been sentenced to 18-months behind bars.
Confirmed by TNT, the 64-year-old restauranteur will also undergo two years of supervised release and pay $2.5 million in restitution after doing his time.

The Bar One owner was accused of failing to pay employee business taxes while blowing just under $375,000 on travel and ride-sharing services and $250,000 on luxury goods, including designer duds from Prada, Louis Vuitton, and more. “Thomas’s flagrant violation of his federal payroll tax obligations over many years that served to unjustly enrich his companies and himself by more than $2.5 million and deprive the federal government funds used to provide important retirement and disability benefits to employees,” the memo reportedly read, People reports.

In a reaction post to the news of his sentencing, Thomas shared his appreciation for his attorney, as well as the prosecutor and judge, calling them “fair people” despite the outcome. He adds that he is “grateful” for the overall outcome before telling his Instagram followers, “I’ll see you guys soon.” He later added that the judge has allowed him time to get his business affairs in order before turning himself in, and that the entire situation isn’t as bad as it may seem. Hear him out below.

Ahead of the sentencing, Thomas shared a video explaining his decision to plead guilty, confessing, “I’ll be making an appearance in the United States government federal courthouse here in Charlotte, North Carolina, to face the music. The music of … consistently withholding taxes for [my] businesses [for] over 10 years…I thought it was something that I could rectify by getting on that payment plan and paying it. But it doesn’t work like that.”

He then offered a warning within the clip’s caption, writing, “Public announcement, most people are confused when it come to paying withholding taxes, I am here to set the record straight, yes you will go to jail, test you still have to pay the taxes also, jail don’t mean that the taxes is forgiven. All young business owner, please learn for my mistake. Have a bless day, happy holidays.”

#MusicNews: Robert Glasper Releases New Holiday Album “In December”
Five-time Grammy award-winning pianist and composer Robert Glasper shares a stunning live session of “December” featuring Andra Day from his acclaimed holiday album, In December—out now across all platforms via Loma Vista Recordings. The video made its broadcast debut on BET Soul, BET.com, and Paramount’s Times Square billboard in New York City yesterday. Set in a cozy, candlelit room, the soul-stirring collaboration captures the essence of the holidays with an evocative, timeless energy. As Glasper’s fingers dance across the piano keys, Day’s powerful voice fills the space with raw emotion, creating a feeling of being nestled by the fire, surrounded by the glow of the season. With every note and every lyric, “December” is the perfect soundtrack for cozy nights, reflecting on the past year, or simply enjoying the magic of the holidays.

In addition to “December”, Glasper released an Apple Music 4-song set, recorded live at New York’s famed Electric Lady Studios in October with his longtime collaborators Justin Tyson (drums), Burniss Travis (bass), and Jahi Sundance (DJ). Featuring “Going Home, “Never Too Late”, “Madiba”, and “Let Go”, the live recording features one-of-a-kind renditions of songs and heaps the charm that has kept Glasper selling out shows around the world for decades. Apple Music subscribers can watch and listen to the special Apple Music Sessions: Robert Glasper audio and visual collection exclusively on Apple Music HERE.

The eight-track project finds Glasper’s unique approach to contemporary R&B and jazz, encapsulated in his famed Black Radio series, applied to what is a sonically unique take on holiday music. This non-traditional holiday release brings a weight and musical funkiness to a genre and time of year that is often seeped in campy or classic holiday motifs. Speaking on In December, Robert Glasper says, “I’m excited to drop my first holiday record. I hope it brings as much joy as I had making it. Sip some eggnog and enjoy.”

Arriving as a bookend to another monumental year for Glasper, In December preceded the closing of the 6th year of the exceptional artist’s world renowned ROBTOBER residency at Blue Note in NYC, featuring special guest performances by RAYE, Questlove, Common, Andra Day, Marsha Ambrosius, Doobie Powell, Little Brother, Chris Dave, Derrick Hodge, DJ Jahi Sundance, Stokley, and more.

Glasper also recently released his third project of 2024, the Apple Music exclusive Keys to the City: Volume 1. A monumental testament to the magic of collaboration and improvisation, the album finds Glasper in his element featuring live recordings from his annual residency, providing listeners with a glimpse of the magic that audiences have come to cherish over the last six years. In October, Robert Glasper launched his new Apple Music radio show, “In My Element,” on Apple Music’s global live-streaming radio station, giving fans an opportunity to explore the inner workings of the acclaimed pianist and composer.

Earlier this year, Robert released two more Apple Music exclusive projects. In June, he shared Let Go, a serene 13-track listening experience that emerged from fans sharing their different uses for his music. In August, he followed up with Code Derivation, a sonic experimentation splitting the difference between jazz and hip-hop, and emphasizing their shared genetics. Code Derivation is largely composed of two versions of the same track, one played live in studio by Glasper’s band and a version “flipped” by a producer of his choosing.

#HipHopNews: Ye Wears Jesus Mask And Praises His Mental Genius In Odd Lawsuit Deposition Video
On Wednesday (Dec. 18), A&E shared a trailer for their new series Interrogation Raw: Celebrity Under Oath, an extension of their show Interrogation Raw. The sneak peek for the new version features Ye sitting for a deposition in 2021 after he was sued in 2020 by MyChannel for allegedly stealing technology for his Yeezy brand. In the video, which can be seen below, Ye is on a Zoom call. He is first sworn in before being asked to refrain from using his phone during the deposition.

"Due to my mental geniusness, in order to focus on this bullish*t, I need to be on a phone," Ye counters.
After agreeing to get off the phone, Ye immediartly puts on a mask that has an image of Jesus on it. He is again questioned about the odd move.

"Because you don't have the right to see my face," Ye responds.
In August of 2020, MyChannel sued Ye for breach of a mutual non-disclosure agreement, unjust enrichment, breach of fiduciary duties and more. MyChannel claims that Ye promised to invest millions into their company to help upgrade the e-commerce side of his Yeezy brand. However, the lawsuit claims, Ye never made good on his promises and instead used the company's technology to promote his Sunday Service launch. In September of 2021, both parties decided to dismiss the case.

Denzel Washington gets Baptized and receives his Ministry License at Kelly Temple COGIC

On (12-21-24), Denzel Washington took a profound step in his spiritual journey by being baptized at Kelly Temple Church of God in Christ (COGIC) in New York City, officially receiving his ministry license.
Growing up in a robust Christian household, with his father serving as a Pentecostal minister, Washington’s early life was deeply rooted in faith. This foundation has undoubtedly influenced his worldview, shaping his character both on and off the screen.

Having attended church as a child, Washington has often discussed a more personal faith that blossomed later in life. Currently a member of the West Angeles Church of God in Christ in Los Angeles, his baptism at Kelly Temple marked what he termed his “greatest accomplishment.”

“It took a while, but I’m finally here… If [God] can do this for me, there’s nothing He can’t do for you. The sky literally is the limit,” Denzel declared in an emotional address during the baptism ceremony.
His words resonated with those present, reflecting the transformative power of faith and redemption. The event was notable not only for Washington’s personal declaration but also for the broader implications of his ministry journey, as he sought to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

WATCH:

The baptism quickly became a trending topic on social media, eliciting a range of reactions. Some users applauded Washington’s decision to choose a smaller church for such a monumental event, with one comment saying, “I love that he’s at a small church, instead of some mega-church signing autographs every Sunday like some folks.” Others expressed skepticism about the fast-tracking of celebrity ministries, questioning the authenticity of the process.

In a separate but related revelation, Washington discussed a slip in mentioning his involvement with the upcoming “Black Panther 3” Apologizing for revealing too much during an interview, he shared his conversation with director Ryan Coogler, emphasizing their close relationship and collaborative spirit. “I called him to apologize,” Washington recounted, laughing off any concern about the untimely reveal.

As Denzel Washington embarks on this new chapter of faith, he remains a pivotal figure not only in Hollywood but also as a growing presence in ministry.
His baptism serves as an inspiring reminder of personal transformation, illustrating how one’s journey can resonate profoundly with a diverse audience.
With a career filled with accolades, Washington’s dedication to his faith highlights a deeper commitment that many hope will continue to inspire both fans and followers alike.

Wendy Williams Makes Appearance At Son’s College Graduation Amid Health Issues
Wendy Williams was spotted at her son Kevin Hunter Jr.’s college graduation on Thursday (Dec. 19) as she continues her battle with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) and primary progressive aphasia (PPA).
In photographs obtained and shared by The U.S. Sun, the former television host attended the commencement ceremony at Florida International University, using a mobility scooter among the crowd. According to the outlet, additional family members were in attendance at the milestone event including her father Thomas Williams Sr., 93, who was escorted via wheelchair by her sister Wanda Finnie.

The appearance comes days after the 60-year-old was seen enjoying time with family and picking up an order from the Sisa Sara’s Shonuff Oysters restaurant in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Both moments are after her court-appointed guardian, Sabrina E. Morrissey claimed the famed broadcaster is “cognitively impaired, permanently disabled, and legally incapacitated,” last month.

Williams’ ex-husband has countered Morrisey in a separate filing. According to The Root, earlier this week, Kevin Hunter filed a Grievance Committee complaint against Morrisey alleging that Morrissey has been purporting herself to be his ex-wife’s legal guardian but has also allegedly been practicing law in the state of New Jersey without having a license.

“Ms. Morrissey is not and has not been legally appointed as Guardian of my ex-wife in New Jersey, yet Ms. Morrissey has filed motions, cross-motions, and responses to motions, as well as testified in court in a jurisdiction that she has no legal standing,” assert the documents. “Ms. Morrissey is practicing law without a license in the State of New Jersey.”
In response, Morrisey explained that she was granted the role of guardianship through a New York Supreme Court judge, per The Root, declaring, “I have never appeared as an attorney in any Court for my ward, Wendy Williams Hunter.”

BMF Co-Founder Terry ‘Southwest T’ Flenory Granted Clemency By President Joe Biden

Terry “Southwest T” Flenory, the co-founder of the infamous Black Mafia Family (BMF), is officially free.
President Joe Biden granted him clemency as part of an initiative focused on granting relief to those released to home confinement during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2008, Terry and his brother Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory were sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for running a massive international drug trafficking operation.

However, the pandemic led to a turning point for Terry, who was released to house arrest in 2020 due to the heightened health risks in prison.
Now, with a commuted sentence, he’s celebrating a second chance.
Terry marked the milestone with an Instagram post, sharing his clemency affidavit alongside a heartfelt message:
It’s been a journey, but prayer and unwavering faith beyond mere human comprehension got us to this point.

Never once acted in my own ability nor doing anything to anyone to help myself.
So the gloves are off 🏴🏴🏴 the gag orders are up 😂 and all the naysayers have to suck it up. 👀 #godisgood
He even posted a video of himself cutting off his house arrest monitor—signaling the end of an era.

While Terry is now free, his brother Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory is still serving out his sentence.
However, there’s light at the end of the tunnel.
In October, Big Meech was moved to a residential reentry program in Miami—a step closer to freedom.

A Quick Legal Breakdown
For those wondering, clemency and a pardon aren’t the same. Clemency refers to reducing a punishment, which can happen in two forms:
Commutation: Cuts the sentence short but doesn’t erase the conviction.
Pardon: Fully absolves the person of guilt.
In Southwest T’s case, his sentence was commuted, meaning he’s no longer serving time but remains convicted.

Her message resonated deeply with the graduates, encouraging them to embrace their roles as change-makers in society.

Community engagement and support
MC Lyte is not only known for her music but also for her commitment to community service. Recent appearances and continued influence
Earlier in December, MC Lyte made headlines by attending music producer and art curator Salaam Remi’s art installation, MuseZeuM, during Art Basel weekend in Miami. The event showcased an art unveiling featuring her alongside Brand Nubian’s frontman, Grand Puba, further solidifying her influence in both the music and art communities.

Oh My, Oprah Winfrey Dragged Into Mariah Carey Defamation Lawsuit
Three years ago Mariah Carey's brother, Morgan Carey, filed a defamation of character lawsuit against her claiming she lied about him in her memoir
Now Morgan wants to subpoena Oprah Winfrey in an effort to prove his claims...

From The Sun
The U.S. Sun obtained court papers, filed in Los Angeles on December 13, which demand that the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) hand over all communications, emails, unedited videos, and documents relating to Mariah, any interviews she has given, and the book.
It states: "Plaintiff Morgan Carey in his lawsuit against Mariah Carey requests that the non-party OWN; The Oprah Winfrey Network LLC produce all documents responsive to these requests... no later than January 16, 2025."
Mariah has given several TV interviews to Oprah over the years, including to promote The Meaning of Mariah Carey.
In September 2020, Oprah wrote on X, then known as Twitter, "I may not have known the words back then but after 10 interviews together, I now know the FULL meaning of@MariahCarey.

"On this episode of #TheOprahConversation, the world’s most fascinating star speaks her truth for the first time in her memoir #TheMeaningOfMariahCarey.
"We talk about the real meanings behind her songs, her famous marriages, and the lasting imprint her traumatic childhood has on her own life."

She also appeared on Oprah's show in 1999 with her mother, Patricia, where she spoke about her childhood and her relationship with Morgan and Alison.
The latest court paper requests "documents and communications that refer or relate to agreements by, among, or between any of the following: You [OWN], defendant [Mariah Carey], or Micaela Angela Davis, Andrew Cohen, or Tyler Perry."
It also requests: "Documents and communications that identify services performed by OWN for defendant [Mariah Carey]."
It says the deposition topics will include "the authenticity and source of all documents" and "OWN's promotion of the book."
Morgan filed a suit in 2021 alleging that claims Mariah had made in the autobiography were "false and defamatory" and had caused "damage to his reputation."

Corey Holcomb Accused of Punching Female Comic

Back in February comedian Donell Rawlings confronted comedian Corey Holcomb in the middle of his set at the Laugh Factory
This week Corey got into it with a female comedian and punched her in the face...

According to TMZ: Comedian Corey Holcomb is being accused of punching another comic in the face outside a club earlier this month ... and, it's apparently all over a longstanding feud.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... comedian Cristina Payne was hanging outside the Hollywood Improv comedy club earlier this month when witnesses say Corey came up and started screaming at her and her friend.
Our sources say they were told Corey threatened to punch Cristina in the face ... so a man at the club that night got in between the two. Corey then allegedly swung over the man and hit Payne square in the face.
Witnesses say multiple people and Corey tackled the man who got in between him and Cristina ... before Corey ran off. We're told police officers took a battery report.

We're told paramedics came out to check on Cristina and the other man -- though the two were not taken to a hospital.
Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ ... this feud dates back to July when they say Corey told people he was going to "super sock" Cristina -- adding "somebody come get this bitch before I f*** her up."
We're told that, when Corey saw her earlier this month, he got in her face ... saying he was ready for anything and everything to pop off -- before they say he tried to punch her.
Sources close to Cristina tell us Corey is trying to use his podcast and influence to make it seem like he didn't hit Cristina ... though they say there are numerous people willing to testify against Corey should he be arrested and face charges.

Bishop T.D. Jakes Files Motion Over Diddy A.I. Misinformation on YouTube
The lawyer for Bishop T.D. Jakes wants the court to intervene in the misinformation related to Sean “Diddy” Combs that his client is said to be experiencing because of YouTube.
On Thursday, Dustin Pusch, an attorney for Jakes, filed a motion in the Northern District of California seeking to subpoena Google, YouTube’s parent company, to share information concerning the identities of four YouTube account holders. They are purportedly located in Pakistan, South Africa, the Philippines and Kenya, according to the accounts’ “About” sections on YouTube.

The motion said these accounts made false claims about Jakes, citing previous NBC News reporting about AI-generated misinformation on YouTube, and added that elements of the videos were likely created with AI tools, including images used in thumbnails and voice-overs. YouTube videos utilizing AI have been popular for years, and YouTube recently introduced AI initiatives to dramatically increase the amount of AI-generated content and material on the platform.

But AI elements have also been used to spread misinformation on videos that have the potential to make a large profit for both YouTube and their creators, by monetizing them with ads. The motion filed by Jakes’ lawyer is a significant development in efforts to combat viral AI-generated misinformation on the platform, being one of the first of its kind attempting to unmask the creators behind it. In previous reporting, a YouTube creator behind similar content previously confirmed their use of AI tools to NBC News, and AI detection experts found a high likelihood of similar content involving AI-generated images and audio.

In the last year, Jakes has been the subject of hundreds of YouTube videos that have received millions of views, part of a torrent of misinformation that stemmed from speculation surrounding allegations made about Sean “Diddy” Combs, with whom Jakes has been associated in the past.
Since 2021, he hosts a sermon series on Revolt, a media company Combs started in 2013; the rapper stepped down from Revolt last year, selling his stake in March. In 2022, Jakes made a brief stop at Combs’ birthday party. In a 2024 lawsuit, music producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones alleged that Combs planned to “leverage his relationship” with Jakes to “soften the impact” of Ventura’s lawsuit. Combs has not addressed the claim.

Jakes has not defended Combs in the wake of Ventura’s lawsuit, but he has defended himself from an avalanche of “false and absurd videos” about him, Combs and other Black celebrities, the motion said.
“These YouTubers are purportedly using the sordid and sensational allegations revolving around Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs to attack, humiliate, degrade, and defame Bishop Jakes—and many other prominent black celebrities—with manufactured claims that he is guilty of the same crimes and other lewd and repulsive conduct as Mr. Combs,” the motion said. “In other words, YouTubers are using Bishop Jakes’s prominence as clickbait to attract unwitting users to view their knowingly false videos for their (and possibly other foreign companies’) financial gain.”

As described in the motion and in screenshots of YouTube video titles and thumbnails viewed by NBC News, fake images show Jakes in a prison jumpsuit, in handcuffs and in sexual scenarios with other male celebrities. Video titles falsely claim that Jakes was arrested, came out as gay and stepped down from his position at The Potter’s House.
The motion said Jakes’ legal action follows a yearlong attempt to engage with YouTube’s legal counsel on the issue, as well as report videos that violate YouTube’s community guidelines around misleading thumbnails, spam, misinformation and lewd sexual imagery. YouTube has removed some of the videos, but left a majority up, the motion said.

An NBC News review of YouTube search results for “td jakes” and “td jakes diddy” on Wednesday surfaced more than two dozen videos, some with over 1 million views, with titles and thumbnails containing false information, doctored photos and lurid claims about Jakes. Some of the videos connected Combs to Jakes’ recent onstage health incident.
If the motion and subpoena are successful, upon receiving information like IP addresses and email addresses, Jakes may pursue defamation litigation against the people behind the YouTube channels, the motion said. In November, Jakes filed a defamation suit against a man who claimed Jakes sexually assaulted him. The man made the claim on a podcast and no charges were ever filed.

Dennis Rodman's Daughter Calls His Apology 'A Joke' After She Slammed Him For Leaving Her Homeless
Trinity Rodman has publicly declared that she is "done" with her father, Dennis Rodman, following his apology on social media. The shocking announcement came after her revealing interview on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast, where she discussed their strained relationship and challenging upbringing.

"He's a person. He's not a dad. Maybe by blood, but nothing else," Trinity, 22, said during the interview on December 18. She recounted how she and her mother became homeless after her parents divorced in 2004, with her family sometimes living out of an SUV because her dad barely gave them money to pay rent.

She cited Dennis Rodman's issues with substance abuse and his partying lifestyle as major disruptions during her childhood. She also criticized Dennis' parenting, claiming he only showed up to her game just for the camera.
The Washington Spirit star further revealed how her father's erratic presence and substance issues affected her and her brother, DJ. "Before the divorce happened, my dad was actually helping money wise. …When the divorce happened, it was just like, 'F*** you guys.' … We're getting enough money to pay rent, barely," she explained during the podcast.

Trinity also talked about the emotional toll her father's lifestyle took on her, describing him bluntly as "an alcoholic." She mentioned only answering his calls now out of a sense of duty for her conscience, should something happen to him. "I want to know that I did that. Or if he needed to hear my voice before anything happens," she said. "That's why I answer the phone, not for me."
Following her interview, Dennis Rodman, 63, issued a lengthy Instagram apology, expressing regret for not meeting her expectations as a father. "Sorry I wasn't the Dad you wanted me to be but either way I still tried and I still try and never will stop," he wrote, sharing a video montage of photos from different years.

However, Trinity was unimpressed. "A joke. The response alone. And the attention. Wiping my hands with it and I'm done. Thank you," she responded on her Instagram Stories, making it clear that she had lost hope for reconciliation.
Dennis Rodman, known for his flamboyant personality and turbulent personal life, expressed his ongoing efforts to connect with his daughter despite the obstacles. "I will try even when it's difficult and if it takes a long time. I'm always here... Hopefully one day I can get that...Dennis RODMAN- Dad," he concluded in his heartfelt post.

As this emotional saga continues to unfold publicly, it sheds light on the challenges many families face and the complexities of forgiveness and reconciliation.

Drake Claps Back At Spotify After Streaming Giant Denied Manipulating Kendrick Lamar's Streaming Numbers
Drake reacts after Spotify denied manipulating the streams of his rival Kendrick Lamar's diss track "Not Like Us" amid ongoing lawsuit launched by the Canadian rapper. His legal team hits back at the streaming giant in their new statement.
The rapper has filed a motion requesting access to data from Universal Music Group (UMG) and Spotify, claiming that the label and streaming platform conspired to artificially boost the streams of Kendrick Lamar's track "Not Like Us" after the track dominated multiple charts and streaming platforms. Despite the gravity of these allegations, Spotify has dismissed Drake's assertions and issued a comprehensive denial.

According to Spotify, they lack any "economic incentive" to prioritize Kendrick Lamar's song over a track by Drake. Additionally, the streaming giant also refuted Drake's claims about bots being used to inflate the streams for "Not Like Us," boosting it by 30 million plays. Furthermore, Spotify denied the allegation that UMG had offered them a 30% reduction in licensing rates to favor Lamar's diss track.

Drake's legal team responded swiftly to Spotify's denial. "It is not surprising that Spotify is trying to distance themselves from UMG's allegedly manipulative practices to artificially inflate streaming numbers on behalf of one of its other artists. If Spotify and UMG have nothing to hide then they should be perfectly fine complying with this basic discovery request," stated his representatives.

They emphasized their primary objective: to gain access to the streaming data and set the record straight. As far as Drake is concerned, if UMG and Spotify are innocent, they should have no objections to sharing this information.
Despite the critical tone and ridicule from fellow rap artists like Snoop Dogg, the rapper remains steadfast in his legal pursuit. This ongoing saga might see Drake's supporters and critics splitting into camps, but the legal proceedings will continue.

For those missing his music amidst the drama, there's some good news: Drake is back in the studio. He posted a photo the night before his response to Spotify, showing his producer, 40, working on a new track. This development suggests that although he's entangled in a legal battle, Drake is still dedicated to creating new music.

The outcome of this dispute could have significant ramifications for the music industry, especially concerning transparency in streaming data and ethical practices. Until then, fans and industry insiders alike will be watching closely as Drake takes on some of the biggest names in music business.

Michael B. Jordan Calls Cop On Intruder Pretending To Be His Security Guard
Michael B. Jordan had an unnerving experience when a man claiming to be a member of his security team trespassed on his property in Los Angeles. According to TMZ, the incident occurred on a Wednesday afternoon, December 18 when the intruder was spotted in Jordan's front yard.

Despite the intruder's assertions of being part of the security detail, Jordan's actual security team swiftly escorted him off the premises before calling the police.
When the authorities arrived, the suspect continued to insist that he was part of Jordan's security. Although Jordan's team initially wanted the trespasser merely removed, they eventually decided to press charges against the individual.

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) took a trespassing report and forwarded the case to prosecutors for potential charges. The intruder did not have any known history of approaching Jordan's home, and the actor did not come face-to-face with the man.

This incident comes on the heels of another challenge for Jordan. Just a week earlier, he accidentally crashed his $429,000 Ferrari into a parked car, reportedly due to pressing the gas pedal instead of the brake. Although the actor was embarrassed by the accident, no charges were filed, and police did not conduct a field sobriety test. A source mentioned that Jordan was primarily frustrated about damaging his car but acknowledged that it was a fixable issue.
Amid these events, Jordan has also been candid about his struggles with loneliness. In an interview with Jay Shetty, he revealed how the responsibilities and multitasking aspects of his career often leave him feeling isolated.

"I love multitasking; I love juggling, the balancing act that I do. The worst part is the loneliness that comes with that," he said. The actor described how the weight of his responsibilities can sometimes make him feel misunderstood and alone.
Jordan, who broke up with Lori Harvey in 2022, admitted that finding a partner who can navigate his demanding lifestyle is challenging. He voiced concerns about the complexities of integrating someone into his world.

Despite these challenges, Jordan remains optimistic about the future. He hopes to take more time for himself and possibly find a meaningful connection. "I'm looking forward to that part of my life. I think the last couple of years I'm starting to get to a place where I have to start living," he shared.

Laura Harrier Blasts 'Weirdo' Shameik Moore for Insinuating That They're Dating
Laura Harrier is calling out Shameik Moore. The 34-year-old Doctor Odyssey actress recently took to TikTok to share a video blasting the 29-year-old Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse actor after he shared a post insinuating that they’re dating, even though she’s happily engaged to someone else.
“I keep seeing all these videos that I am being tagged in with another actor and people speculating, what that is, it’s really annoying me because I’m literally engaged,” Laura started. “That’s important to me, and you know, I’m in Hollywood, I get it. People do PR stunts, whatever, people like to get attention.”

Laura‘s comments come after Shameik posted a video on X of the two of them posing together at an event along with the caption, “coming soon” with the musical notes emoji. Laura says that the video was taken a year ago when “someone asked them” to take photos together.

Laura went on to explain that she usually keeps her personal life out of the spotlight, but reiterated that she is happily engaged to creative consultant Sam Jarou, but many questioned if something was going on between she and Shameik.
“Not sure why you would post that now. And so I texted him, we’re not close, like I know him just from around,” Laura said. “And I texted him, ‘Hey, can you take this down? Not sure why you would post that. Also I’m literally getting married and I don’t like this insinuation that there is something going on between us if that was your intention.’”

“It’s still up, which is f–king weird,” she continued. “You’re a f–king weirdo. I’m sorry. You’re a f–king weirdo. And I’m f–king annoyed.”
“I just wanted to say something because I don’t like that,” Laura said, before adding that she “doesn’t like” her “marriage” or herself “being disrespected.”
She then went on to call out Shameik for using her “image to get attention with.”
After Laura shared the TikTok, Shameik has taken down the post and deleted his X account.

Dwight Howard Is Engaged to Rapper Amy Luciani: Says he's‘ Thankful and Happy.

Wedding bells are ringing for basketball star Dwight Howard! The former NBA player, 39, and rapper Amy Luciani, 34, announced their engagement on Instagram on Friday, Dec. 20, while sharing several loving photos and videos of their time together.
In her post, Luciani — known for her appearance on season 11 of the MTV reality show Love & Hip Hop Atlanta —  shared a clip of Howard holding her left hand, which was adorned with a diamond engagement ring.

Howard could be seen smiling up at her as he grazed the ring, which appears to be square-cut and is set on top of several smaller stones. The camera then pans to a large diamond ring on Howard's finger, though it is currently unclear whether the ring is related to the engagement.
In the same post, the musician shared videos of herself and the Dancing with the Stars alum having fun together, dancing and celebrating his recent birthday on Dec. 8. She also shared snaps of the pair posing side-by-side and smiling at events and on shopping trips.

“I was enjoying you so much out of the public eye but here we are,” Luciani captioned the post. “Thank you for bringing me back to the word. Anything I say or fuss about, first thing you say is “Did you pray about it?” Then I realized I hadn’t being praying much lately at all.”

“I’m just thankful, happy and ready for everything that’s coming our way. I prayed reallllll deep on a Thursday not knowing 2 days later God would send me a Bible totin, tattood giant with the same heart as me. Thank you,” she added.
Howard responded in the comments section of the post, sending an infinity emoji, a red heart emoji and a lock and key emoji.
The athlete posted his own post on the same day, alluding to the engagement and writing, “Happy 😅♾️❤️ #blacklove #prayedforthis.” He shared a trio of photos of the couple from the Den of Thieves 2 premiere in Atlanta premiere on Dec. 18, including a sweet snap of him grinning widely.

The couple has kept their relationship relatively private up to this point. However, they have been spotted out at events together in recent months.

#RIP: MLB Legend Rickey Henderson, The ‘Man of Steal,’ Dies at Age 65
*Rickey Henderson, famously known as baseball’s “Man of Steal,” has sadly passed away at the age of 65 due to complications from pneumonia.
Henderson’s journey in the sport spanned an impressive 24 seasons, and his legacy as one of baseball’s greatest players is firmly cemented.

Henderson died on Friday in the Oakland area after receiving treatment at a local hospital. His passing has sent shockwaves throughout the baseball community, eliciting heartfelt tributes from former teammates and baseball legends, including Dave Winfield and Ozzie Guillen, according to TMZ Sports.

Throughout his illustrious career, Rickey Henderson dazzled fans and opponents alike with his remarkable speed and agility. He holds the all-time Major League Baseball (MLB) record for stolen bases with an astonishing 1,406. To put this in perspective, no other player has even reached the 1,000 stolen base mark, a testament to Henderson’s extraordinary talent.
Debuting with the Oakland Athletics in 1979, Henderson became synonymous with the franchise. He played for nine teams throughout his career, including notable stints with the New York Yankees, Toronto Blue Jays, and the Los Angeles Dodgers, with whom he concluded his career in 2003. His accolades include being a 10-time All-Star, a two-time World Series Champion (with the A’s in 1989 and the Blue Jays in 1993), and an induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2009.

With a career batting average of .279, Henderson accumulated over 3,055 hits and 297 home runs, but his influence extended beyond statistics. His philosophy of being a leadoff hitter revolutionized the way teams approached offensive play, prompting pitchers to alter their strategies to counter his base-stealing threat.

Rickey Henderson was not just a player but a phenomenon, with stories of his antics on and off the field becoming the stuff of baseball legend. His carefree and electrifying style made him a fan favorite and a source of inspiration for aspiring players.
The loss of Rickey Henderson leaves a significant void in the hearts of baseball enthusiasts around the world. His unique blend of talent, charisma, and contributions to the sport will not be forgotten, and as tributes flow in, his legacy continues to inspire future generations.

Lizzo Says She Was ‘Completely Surprised’ by Sexual Harassment Lawsuit

*Lizzo has opened up about the sexual harassment lawsuit filed against her last year by three of her backup dancers.
The singer scored a legal victory recently when she was dismissed from the case but her company, Big Grrrl Big Touring, Inc., is still named in the lawsuit. According to PEOPLE, Lizzo addressed the legal issue during an episode of “Baby, This Is Keke Palmer” on Thursday, saying she was “completely surprised” when she learned the dancers were suing her.

“I was literally living in my dream, and then the tour ended, and three ex-dancers just completely, like, blindsided me with a lawsuit,” Lizzo said.
“I was very deeply hurt because these were three ex-dancers, so they weren’t on the tour. They didn’t, like, finish the tour out with us. But even regardless of that, these were people that I gave opportunities to,” she added.

The “Truth Hurts” singer has been accused of harassment by Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez. The dancers allege that Lizzo pressured them to touch nude performers and eat bananas from the performers’ v-ginas” at the Bananenbar club in Amsterdam during a tour. Lizzo claims she didn’t invite the dancers to the bar.

“I didn’t take them anywhere. They came to the club I was at, and it was no mandatory invitation,” she said on the podcast.
“I didn’t even know that those two particular dancers were coming mind, you. Only two of them came, even though all three of them said they did, it was only two I didn’t even know they were coming,” Lizzo continued.
She noted that “everything was consensual” at the bar, making clear that she did “nothing wrong.”
“These were people that — I liked them and appreciated them as dancers, respected them as dancers,” Lizzo said.

“So I was like, what? But then I heard all the other things like sexual harassment, and I was like, they’re trying well, I don’t know what they’re trying to do, but these are the types of things that the media can turn into something that it’s not… Let’s be clear, I did nothing wrong.”

Party City to close: All Stores to Close in the Coming Months
In a heartbreaking announcement, Party City has revealed its decision to close all of its stores, marking the end of nearly 40 years in business.
CEO Barry Litwin shared the devastating news during a video conference call with corporate employees on Friday.
“That is without question the most difficult message that I’ve ever had to deliver,” Litwin said, his voice breaking, as he announced that today would be their last day of employment.
“Party City’s very best efforts have not been enough to overcome our financial challenges,” Litwin admitted during the meeting. “It’s really important for you to know that we’ve done everything possible that we could to try to avoid this outcome. Unfortunately, it’s necessary to commence a winddown process immediately.”

The New Jersey-based company named Litwin its new CEO just four months ago. In a LinkedIn post when he was hired, he stated that the company’s “main priority is to strengthen our financial health, and there is work ahead of us.” However, the challenges proved insurmountable. Party City declared bankruptcy in January 2023, struggling with a $1.7 billion debt load. Going bankrupt allowed it to cancel nearly $1 billion in debt and keep most of its more than 800 stores open. Yet, the company closed over 80 locations from the end of 2022 to August 2024, according to its most recent financial documents.

“It’s a heartbreaking moment for all of us,” Litwin continued, his voice choked with emotion. “Party City has been a part of so many lives, creating memories at birthdays, Halloween, and celebrations of all kinds. To see it come to an end is incredibly difficult for me personally and professionally.”
The company’s struggles were compounded by intense competition from e-commerce sites, pop-up concepts like Spirit Halloween, and big-box retailers such as Amazon, Walmart, and Costco. The challenges of the pandemic, coupled with a helium shortage, also significantly impacted its balloon business. As Party City winds down its operations, it marks the end of an era for the largest party supply store in the United States.
