#RHOA: Kandi Burruss Dismissed From $200,000 Lawsuit Over Restaurant’s Alleged Unpaid Rent
Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Kandi Burruss had all claims against her dismissed by the landlord suing over alleged unpaid rent owed on her restaurant Blaze, In Touch can exclusively report.
According to court documents obtained by In Touch, on March 16, the landlord, Montego Pacific Inc., informed the court it was no longer pursuing claims against Kandi, 48, individually.

A lawyer for the landlord explained, “The basis for [Montego’s] claims against [Kandi] was that she executed a personal guaranty of a commercial lease in favor of [Montego].”
He added, “After [Montego] filed the complaint, [Kandi’s lawyer] provided documentation showing that [Kandi’s] personal guaranty expired before [Montego] filed its complaint.”

The lawyer ended, “Therefore, because [Kandi’s] liability has expired, her remaining a party defendant in this civil action serves no useful or meaningful purpose, and [Montego] requests that the court enter an order dropping [Kandi] as a party defendant.”
The lawsuit will continue on against Burruss Tucker Restaurant Group, run by Kandi and her husband, Todd Tucker, and Blaze Steakhouse.Montego filed the initial complaint on March 3.

It claimed the defendants owed rent for Blaze. The suit alleged Kandi and the others sued owed a total of $154,139.17 in past due rent and another $56,495.75 for repairs done to the property.
The suit claimed the defendants breached the contract by failing to pay certain monetary charges when they became “due and by failing to keep the premises in good maintenance and repair, when necessitated landlord incurring costs for maintenance and repair that are tenant’s obligations under the lease.”

The lawsuit read, “As a result of Tenant’s breach of the Lease for failure to pay rent and other monetary charges due, landlord has suffered damages in an amount to be proven at trial, but in no event less than the total sum $154,139.17, exclusive of interest, plus additional rent and other charges that accrue under the Lease at the rate of $12,083.50 per month.”
The landlord also demanded the defendants be on the hook for the legal fees racked up to bring the case. Kandi and Todd opened Blaze in Atlanta in 2020.

They also own another restaurant Old Lady Gang, which opened in 2017, and has led to multiple locations.
Earlier this week, Kandi spoke out about the lawsuit. She claimed her name was added for publicity and the claims against her would be dropped shortly.
“It was just a disagreement between us and the landlord,” she said. “But to let you know, they had to drop my name off so…I think they just put my name on there anyway so that they could get publicity for the lawsuit.”
“The rest is being worked out because it really was a disagreement about some repairs that they made and then who would be responsible for it,” she added. Kandi said, “So, we were just going back and forth about that, basically, and that’s why it turned out into what it turned into. But it looks like we’re gonna come to some agreement … so it’ll be fine.”

In 2024, Kandi announced she would not be returning to Real Housewives of Atlanta after 14 seasons.

#HipHopNews: Joe Budden's Nude Pics Surface As Neighbors Sue Him Over Lewd Act
Joe Budden has seen nude pictures of himself surface online after being sued by his neighbors for public lewdness.
In December, the former Slaughterhouse rapper was arrested for allegedly trying to enter his neighbor’s apartment while naked, although he was later cleared of the charges.

Budden has now been sued by his neighbors over the incident, as well as a heated and lengthy dispute over his hit pocast, The Joe Budden Podcast, which he records in the building.

In the lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, John and Yuliya Aksoy accuse Budden, as well as his podcast co-host Melyssa Ford and their condo association, of engaging in a “campaign of intimidation and retribution” after they raised a noise complaint over his podcast.
The neighbors claim they confronted the “Pump It Up” rapper about the excessive noise, as well as him and his team smoking weed in the condo’s common area and creating a hazardous environment for their young daughter.

After filing a complaint with the condo association, the Aksoys claim Budden sought revenge by accusing Yuliya of using racist language toward him. Budden even claims to have audio of these comments, according to the suit, but has yet to produce it.
Regarding his public lewdness, the Aksoys took issue with Budden joking about and downplaying the incident on public platforms.
Included in the lawsuit are screenshots from the neighbor’s door camera showing the 44-year-old stood in the hallway completely nude.

Budden, through his attorney, dismissed the suit as “a money grab attempt by a person we believe to be a racist.”
In an episode of his self-titled pocast in January, Budden revealed that he had been cleared of any wrongdoing in his lewdness and stalking case
He claimed that the multi-day trial began with his neighbor “immediately” crying “white woman tears” upon taking the stand.

Budden, who previously blamed the incident on his sleepwalking, also denied allegations that he was masturbating while stood outside his neighbor’s apartment.
The judge ultimately sided with the Hip Hop media figure, allegedly telling the courtroom: “Mr. Budden was not erect. He was not masturbating. The one time that he touched his penis, he appeared to be trying to cover himself. Mr. Budden was not trying to forcibly enter.”

Budden praised the judge by saying: “She was fair, reasonable, heard all the testimony, was attentive, [and] wasn’t on no bullshit.”

Oprah Winfrey Subpoenaed By Russell Simmons Rape Accuser
Oprah Winfrey has been dragged into the Russell Simmons rape case by way of a subpoena. According to Page Six, Drew Dixon has subpoenaed the former talk show host, pressuring Winfrey to present evidence supporting her claims in a defamation suit against the Def Jam mogul.
The legal document obtained by the outlet details information that Dixon and her legal team are requesting from Winfrey, including “all other tangible things” that corroborate her claims. Dixon’s docs also demand that the Color Purple entertainer appear in court to testify in her rape case against Simmons.

The subpoena stems from the former Def Jam executive Drew Dixon previously accusing Simmons in a New York Times piece of raping her in his apartment back in 1995. Simmons would respond to the claims in an interview with Graham Besinger in 2024, during which he was asked about Dixon’s claims. The Queens native asserted that he had “never been forceful in any of my relationships” and labeled every encounter he has had with women as “consensual.” Simmons then pondered rhetorically, “Could someone want notoriety in a market where people thirst for fame?”

Later in the interview, Simmons spoke about Oprah’s involvement in a documentary called On The Record. The documentary was set to explore various women’s sexual assault accusations levied at Russell, but Winfrey dropped out of the project as producer after claiming she found “inconsistencies” in their allegations. The embattled mogul claimed that Winfrey even had “recordings of conversations with accusers that revealed those alleged inconsistencies.”

Dixon would retaliate with a February 2024 defamation lawsuit against Simmons for his comments. The legal documents claimed that Simmons “has gone on a concerted and malicious campaign to discredit Ms. Dixon and to so damage her reputation” and “this defamation has exacerbated the paralyzation of Ms. Dixon professionally.”
After quitting the project, Oprah later spoke with the New York Times and told them that she believed Dixon’s accusations to be true. But Winfrey didn’t budge on her belief that her and other women’s accounts involved inconsistencies. However, the publication reported, “the filmmakers say they have voluminous research files corroborating all the women’s accounts” — which led directly to Dixon’s most recent subpoena against the millionaire.
“You are hereby commanded… to produce the books, records, papers, data, documents, evidences, writings, and all other tangible things as described more fully in the attached Schedule A at [law firm] Boies Schiller Flexner LLP, 55 Hudson Yards, New York, New York 10001, or electronically to undersigned counsel, on or before March 18, 2025,” the subpoena reads.

“You are further commanded to… to appear and attend before a notary public or other person authorized by law to administer oaths… and at any recessed or adjourned date, to testify and give evidence, as a witness on an examination before trial by deposition upon oral questions.”
Russell Simmons has never been arrested or charged as a result of Drew Dixon’s claims.

Kansas City Chiefs' Xavier Worthy sues ex-fiancée, alleges extortion, abuse
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy is suing his former fiancée in Williamson County, Texas, alleging she stole and destroyed more than $150,000 in cash and property belonging to Worthy and assaulted him.
Worthy was arrested early this month in Texas on a charge of assault of a family or house member by impeding the breathing or circulation. Soon after, the Williamson County District Attorney said no charges would be filed against Worthy.
Worthy is seeking an amount between $250,000 and $1 million for damages, including punitive and exemplary damages.

In the lawsuit, Worthy said his former fiancée, Tia Jones, "schemed to extort a home, money, cars, and other valuables from Plaintiff by concocting false stories of domestic violence and leaking the same to the press to professionally and personally assassinate Plaintiff's character and reputation.''
Worthy said that in February he asked Jones multiple times over a 12-day period to leave a residence he had purchased after he had discovered she had been "unfaithful." Worthy said that he offered to find Jones an apartment nearby but that the offer was refused.

"Rather than leave and separate amicably, Defendant Jones became enraged and engaged in a series of abusive, extortive efforts against Plaintiff and destroyed his game room, including his gaming desk and console [a PlayStation 5], and the key to his Rolls Royce,'' the lawsuit said. "Defendant Jones began physically assaulting Plaintiff by scratching his face and ripping parts of his hair out, causing him pain and injury.''

Worthy included photos of what he said were the game room damage and where hair had been torn out of his head.

Worthy alleged in the lawsuit that property missing from his game room included $30,000 in cash that was in a closet and a handgun that was on a couch.
Earlier this month, Jones was granted a protective order against Worthy by a Texas judge.

Cardi B discovers daughter’s artwork on $60K Birkin bag

Cardi B recently shared a parenting moment that resonated with mothers everywhere, though with a significantly higher price tag attached. The Grammy-winning artist took to Instagram to reveal her dismay after discovering her 6-year-old daughter Kulture had transformed her $60,000 crocodile skin Birkin bag into a personal art canvas, drawing a heart with marker on the luxury accessory.

The rapper’s visible frustration came through clearly in her Instagram Story as she repeatedly pointed to the impromptu artwork on the designer bag. Cardi emphasized that she literally spent $60,000 on this purse, highlighting the significant investment now featuring her daughter’s creative addition. The moment captured the universal parenting experience of children innocently damaging valuable possessions, albeit with a luxury fashion twist.

The incident bridges the gap between celebrity extravagance and everyday parenting challenges. While most parents might worry about crayon on walls or marker on furniture, Cardi’s situation involves a handbag worth more than many Americans’ annual salary. Yet her reaction — a mixture of disbelief and resignation — reflects a relatable parenting moment that transcends economic differences.

Luxury gift background
The Birkin in question wasn’t just any designer accessory in Cardi’s extensive collection. The bag holds particular significance as one of three Birkins given to her by Offset, her estranged husband, for her 31st birthday celebration in 2023. The extravagant gift represented not only remarkable luxury but also became entangled in broader ethical debates.

The use of exotic animal skin in the bag’s construction drew significant criticism from animal welfare advocates. PETA condemned the purchase as supporting an industry they characterize as unnecessarily cruel, stating that such purchases funnel money into practices that harm animals. The organization specifically highlighted concerns about the treatment of crocodiles in the creation of such luxury goods.

Shifting family dynamics
The designer bag incident comes amid significant changes in Cardi’s personal life. She and Offset are currently navigating divorce proceedings, with the rapper and Migos member recently filing legal documentation seeking joint custody arrangements for their three children. According to these filings, Offset has requested that Cardi’s residence serve as the children’s primary home while proposing an equitable division of their joint assets.

Despite the formal legal proceedings, both artists continue their creative pursuits independently. Offset recently released “Ten,” a track that appears to reference their relationship’s end. The lyrics suggest he has moved forward emotionally, with references to dating and emotional distance that indicate his perspective on their separation.

For her part, Cardi has maintained focus on both her professional obligations and parenting responsibilities. She recently reached resolution on a significant legal matter, finalizing arrangements to satisfy a $3.9 million judgment against Tasha K, demonstrating her commitment to addressing outstanding issues systematically.

Balancing fame and motherhood
Throughout her career, Cardi has been remarkably transparent about the challenges of balancing her public persona with private family responsibilities. Her willingness to share unfiltered moments—including this expensive mishap—contributes to her authenticity in an industry often characterized by carefully curated images.

This incident, while seemingly minor in the context of her high-profile divorce and successful music career, offers a glimpse into the everyday reality of her life as a mother. For fans, these moments humanize celebrities, revealing that despite vast differences in resources and lifestyles, certain parenting experiences remain universal.

Cultural significance of luxury items
The Birkin bag itself represents more than just an expensive accessory in celebrity culture. These handcrafted items from Hermès have become significant status symbols, with waiting lists and highly restricted availability adding to their mystique. The bags frequently appreciate in value, functioning simultaneously as fashion statements and investment pieces.

For many celebrities, displaying these accessories signals achievement and financial success. That Cardi would own multiple such items reflects her career accomplishments and position within the entertainment industry. That her daughter would see it simply as another surface for creative expression highlights the contrast between adult valuation systems and children’s innocent perspectives.

Moving forward
As Cardi navigates this transitional period in her personal life, small moments like her daughter’s artistic expression on a luxury item provide continuity amid change. Parenting remains constant even as relationships evolve and career demands fluctuate.
While the fate of the decorated Birkin remains unknown — whether it will be professionally restored or kept as a unique, if unintentional, customized piece — the incident has already secured its place in the ongoing narrative of Cardi’s public life. It serves as a reminder that even in celebrity households with seemingly unlimited resources, children remain wonderfully unpredictable forces of nature.

For fans who follow Cardi’s career and personal journey, this moment reinforces her relatability despite her extraordinary success. The intersection of extreme luxury with everyday parenting challenges creates a uniquely compelling glimpse into the complexities of modern celebrity life.

Wendy Williams Needs a New Cognitive Test

Two weeks ago Wendy Williams' team announced she had taken a cognitive test and passed with flying colors in her effort to be released from her court ordered guardianship

Turns out the test Wendy took cannot be used for her case...Wendy Williams still has a mountain to climb as far as being released from her court-ordered guardianship as she awaits a new cognitive health test.
“It’s [a] frustrating and long running process, she’s been told she has to be patient, which is hard but she’s staying positive,” a source dishes.
“A new evaluation will have to take place, it’s at the discretion of her guardians but eventually it does have to happen, they can only hold out for so long and she’s been promised it will happen in due time.”

Dawn Robinson's Mother Calls Her Situation Hard to Watch
Dawn Robinson’s mother said in an interview that the revelation about her estranged daughter had been hard to take but if she could see her now “I would grab her, I would hug her.”
Dawn Robinson, a founding member of the ’90s R&B group En Vogue, said this week that she had been living in her car for roughly three years after several living arrangements fell through.

In a nearly 20-minute video that was posted to her official YouTube channel March 11, Robinson said that she did not want anyone’s pity and that she was comfortable with the decision she had made. Although she said she would rather have her own apartment, she put somewhat of a positive spin on her circumstances.
“I’m glad that I made this choice because I needed to go through this fire,” Robinson said in the video, adding that she was in the middle of a spiritual journey involving a period of isolation from family and friends. “I’m in the trenches of this right now and I’m like, ‘I wouldn’t trade my experiences and what I’ve gone through for the world.’”

A representative for En Vogue, which is still active without Robinson, declined to comment beyond saying that the group had not been in contact with her in more than five years. Robinson could not immediately be reached for comment and did not say in her video where her vehicle is.
Barbara Alexander, Robinson’s mother, said by phone from her home in Las Vegas on Thursday afternoon that she was first alerted to the video Wednesday.
“It’s kind of hard to watch because that’s my daughter,” Alexander said. “I feel bad with her situation, but Dawn doesn’t have to be in that situation, that’s what she choose to be in.”

Robinson said in her video that she had lived with her mother and stepfather for a few years in Las Vegas before relocating to Los Angeles with her manager at the time, saying that she and her mother had often butted heads. Alexander described similar struggles and that she was not sure where her daughter was now living.

“I have not actually spoken to Dawn in almost three years,” she said, adding that she planned to call her soon.
“Dawn does not have to be living in her car,” she said, noting her musical talents. “That’s just ridiculous. She doesn’t have to be living like that. Dawn has got music that she could pass on to Taylor Swift. That’s how great she is. So I just wish that she would get her life together and leave all her demons, or whatever she’s fighting, and move on.”

Alexander said that she would like to reconcile with her daughter. “If she was to knock on my door right now, I would grab her, I would hug her, and I would not even talk about what is out there right now. I’d move on past because it’s done,” she said.
En Vogue was founded in the late 1980s with Robinson, Terry Ellis, Cindy Herron and Maxine Jones and climbed the charts in the 1990s with songs like “Hold On,” “Free Your Mind” and “Giving Him Something He Can Feel.” A New York Times review of one of their concerts in 1992 praised the members’ vocal skills and said, “There’s not a weak voice in the group.”

Robinson left the group in 1997 but made reunion appearances in 2005 and 2009, according to Billboard. Its current members — Ellis, Herron, Jones and Rhona Bennett — performed at the NBA All-Star Game in February.
Robinson, who was also in the music group Lucy Pearl with singer-songwriter Raphael Saadiq, said friends had warned her not to share the details of her living circumstances. “My aim is to inspire,” she said. “And to let people know that you’re capable of anything, no matter what the odds are against you.”

Robinson said that it was in March 2022, after she had lived with her mother and stepfather, that she took a different approach. She said that she decided to try living in her car after researching “van life,” a trend that surged during the coronavirus pandemic in which people permanently live in a vehicle.

“I loved what I was seeing,” Robinson said. “I just thought, ‘I could do that, I can do this.’”
Robinson said that over the years she had developed a careful routine that included caring for her car, covering her windows when necessary and not talking to certain people. She also has a membership at a gym where she showers. “I’m a funky diva, but I’m not funky,” she said.
Toward the end of the video, Robinson said her career would bounce back and addressed concerns that she might be sharing the information for publicity.

“There are many things that people have done for publicity stunts,” she said. “Saying that I’m living in my car and actually not living in my car would be a stupid publicity stunt. But this is not publicity. I have all the footage from Vegas to L.A. to prove that.”

Lady GaGa Hit With Lawsuit Over 'Mayhem' Logo
Lady Gaga is facing legal action from surfboard company Lost International, which alleges she misappropriated its logo for her newly released album "Mayhem." The surfboard company, known for its various merchandise emblazoned with the word "Mayhem," asserts that Gaga's album art bears an uncanny resemblance to its own stylized text.

Lost International claims they have held the copyright to their version of the "Mayhem" logo since 2015. According to TMZ, the surfboard firm reached out to Gaga, birth name Stefani Germanotta, to address their concerns about the similarity. However, despite these attempts, Gaga purportedly proceeded with using the contested logo.
The lawsuit filed by Lost International includes side-by-side images to highlight the similarities between their merchandise and Gaga's album cover. The company demands damages, including any profits Gaga has made from the logo, and seeks legal intervention to prevent her from continuing its use.

"Mayhem," released on March 7, is Gaga's first full-length pop studio album since her 2020 effort "Chromatica." The album has already achieved significant commercial success, debuting at the top of the Billboard 200 and ranking number one in 21 countries. Critics have warmly received the album, with Variety praising the return of "dance floor Gaga" and Paste magazine calling it a "fun, spry record."
Gaga's Grammy-winning duet with Bruno Mars, "Die With A Smile," along with popular singles "Disease" and "Abracadabra," feature on "Mayhem." The album's critical and financial success has set the stage for her upcoming tour, including two headlining nights at Coachella next month.

Amidst the album's success, the lawsuit casts a shadow over Gaga's recent accomplishments. Young listeners and fans of Gaga are closely watching how this legal battle unfolds, who will be the ultimate victor in the clash over the "Mayhem" logo.

Nelly Married Ashanti Because He Didn't Want Her To Be 'Baby Mama'
In a candid conversation on "The Bootleg Kev Podcast", Nelly opened up about the whirlwind events that led to his marriage to Ashanti. The couple, who rekindled their romance in 2023 after nearly a decade apart, made the quick decision to marry as soon as they learned Ashanti was pregnant with their first child together.
Nelly shared that there had been no initial discussions about marriage, but the news of the pregnancy catalyzed their plans. "I was like, 'Yo, you know what? Let's just knock this out because we're going to be doing so much and everything's moving so fast.' I didn't want her to be a baby mama, you know what I mean?" said Nelly.

Ashanti and Nelly tied the knot on December 2023 in a secret ceremony, merely three months after confirming their relationship was back on track. Ashanti revealed her pregnancy in an April 2024 interview with Essence, and their son, Kareem Kenkaide Hayes, known as KK, was born in July 2024.

Reflecting on their rekindled romance, Nelly described how the reunion began with a simple hug at the 2021 Verzuz battle between Fat Joe and Ja Rule. "We didn't even talk. I just went over, got a hug [to] break the ice. We didn't talk for another almost eight to nine months to a year. We didn't have a conversation," Nelly recounted.

Nelly's three biological children and the niece and nephew he adopted after his sister's death in 2005 now have a new addition to their family. But the couple is not stopping there; Ashanti recently told E! News that she wants to have "one or two more" children, expressing a desire for a daughter to "balance it out."
The 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards marked another milestone for the couple, with Ashanti presenting Nelly the Landmark Award. Nelly praised his wife for the surprise presentation, saying, "That's my baby, man. She did her thing."

The award honors artists whose album releases have inspired and shaped culture over multiple decades, a fitting accolade for Nelly's impactful career.

And, now, at least one Philly will display the mark that Smith has left on the city as it will soon bear his name.
On Wednesday, city officials gathered along the 2000 block of North 59th Street in Philadelphia's Overbrook section, to dedicate the street there in honor of the rapper, actor and icon, Will Smith.
In talking about the renaming effort during the morning, Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker said that Smith carries his love for the city everywhere he goes.

"With all of his accomplishments and success, wherever you see him in the world, he is unapologetic about letting you know that 'I'm Will Smith, in West Philadelphia born and raised," she said.
Smith, himself, seemed to enjoy the day, taking time to hug and get photos with old friends and fans as he smiled throughout the event.

"This is amazing," said a smiling Smith when he stepped to the podium.
He also donned a jacket and hat emblazoned with the name of his alma mater, Overbrook High School.
In taking a time to address the audiance, he remembered walking the streets of Philadelphia in his youth.
"I walked across this bridge for my whole high school career in snow and rain,' he recalled.

And, in talking about the renaming effort, Smith said that ahead of the day, he found himself wondering "what is the Will Smith Way?" and, in the end, he said the answer laid in his parents and grandmother and the impact they had on his life.
"The Will Smith Way is encompassed in the lessons I got from my father, my mother and my grandmother," he said.
Smith said that his father taught him you need to be disciplined, suffer and work for your dreams.
"Nobody gets an easy ride and that's one of the things these streets of Philadelphia taught me is that there is nothing wrong with a hard day's work," said Smith.

Also, during the day, Smith recalled the origin of his nick name, "the fresh prince," saying he got it from Ms. Brown, his tenth grade teacher, who often called him "prince charming."
"Philly, I love you. I am yours, you are mine," he said.
Smith promised he would return to the city later this year to celebrate the Fourth of July.

Philadelphia's City Council approved a measure to rename the roadway for Smith recently, saying at the time that the city wanted to recognize Smith's accomplishments in the entertainment industry along with his charitable contributions and advocacy for social justice and equality.
Also, Smith has headed back to the studio following his infamous incident at the 2022 Oscars Awards and he's planning to release three albums this year, each representing what he calls "seasons."
