#MAGFAB: Ramla Ali For Marie Claire UK(Digital Cover),
Powerhouse boxer, fashion icon and activist Ramla Ali is the embodiment of female strength. Here, the Somali-born British athlete - and face of our Start The Year Strong campaign - talks sparring and sacrifice with Lotte Jeffs
catch Ramla Ali in a moment of calm between storms. Last night she attended The Fashion Awards, where she ate three plates of truffle mac and cheese with fries while the crowd of models, designers and A-listers

quaffed Champagne. “Everyone kept asking, ‘Where do you put it? Can you even eat this stuff?’ When I’m in training ahead of a competition or fight,
I usually watch my diet. But camp doesn’t start until Monday, so I was just enjoying myself.”
Camp sounds cute, but it won’t be: the intensive training regime involves early starts, long days, and relentless drills for speed, power and technique. She’ll be at the peak of her fitness, but the physical and emotional toll will be intense.

For now, the Somali-born British boxer, model, charity-founder and film producer is radiating the kind of relaxed energy that comes from a rare day off. Dressed in a Ralph Lauren sweater, joggers and her beloved pink Crocs, with her hair pulled back into an off-duty bun, it’s hard to reconcile the woman before me with the powerhouse she becomes in the boxing ring.

“I don’t fear getting hurt - it’s the fear of not succeeding,
of my body failing me or not putting into practice everything I’ve learned. I lose sleep over that”
Beneath Ali’s successes lies a story of resilience and rebellion, one that began in Somalia during a civil war that forced her family to flee to the UK. Growing up in east London, she discovered boxing as a teenager but kept it a secret from her devout Muslim family. “Boxing was my secret rebellion,” she recalls. “I told myself it was just about fitness but, even then, I knew it was something deeper.”

Her family’s support came later, but their pride is now unwavering. “I’m hoping the fight in February will be in London,” she says. “I’m fed up with fighting in America. My family didn’t support me competing for a long time, but now they’re Team Ramla. Boxing isn’t forever and I want them to be there to share these moments with me.”

“People think that white women are more marketable and it’s really sad. It takes the fun out of something I love so much”
For Ali, who turned 35 in September, every fight still feels like the first. “It’s anxiety-filled, sleepless nights,” she admits. “I don’t fear getting hurt — it’s the fear of not succeeding, of my body failing me or not putting into practice everything I’ve learned. I lose sleep over that, thinking, ‘Was all this sacrifice worth it?’”

Sacrifice is something she’s familiar with. She’s missed so many family occasions over the years and the guilt lies heavy on her. But she’s always found ways to merge her two personal passions: fashion and sport. Her upcoming fight will see her enter the ring wearing a custom-designed kit by Donatella Versace. “I met her at an event, and I told her, ‘Why don’t you do one better than dress me and design me a fight kit?’ She said yes on the spot. I’ve always believed that if you don’t ask, you don’t get.” Previous kits have been created by Dior, Alexander McQueen and Off-White. “It’s what makes me stand out. How many boxers can say they’ve had custom kits from some of the world’s biggest fashion houses?”

“I’ve always been vocal about sharing my failures because
you don’t know who’s watching; who needs to know that failure is normal and you can come out the other end”
For Ali, fashion represents something far greater than aesthetics. “It can feel like armour,” she explains. “The first time I wore couture was for The Fashion Awards in 2021 and, honestly, I felt unstoppable.” She thinks back to that star-studded night in London — and the Dior atelier-style dress she wore, which featured a breastplate in handmade braided laces and a gold lamé jacquard skirt by Maria Grazia Chiuri. “I’d just competed on the Saturday and then by Monday I was all dolled up. That’s what fashion can do.” It’s transformative, she says. It can’t, however, do anything about how sore her body feels after a fight. “I’ve worked with some incredible make-up artists over the years and they do wonders with my face [if it’s bruised],” she adds.

Now, whenever she competes, Ali always makes sure she has something coming up in the diary, like a fashion party, shoot or a family gathering, to get excited about. “The training camps are so gruelling and brutal that it just makes it bearable, having something to look forward to.”

The fashion world has embraced Ali in a way that the boxing world has struggled to. She’s spent her life breaking barriers, but, I ask, which one has felt the hardest to push through? Without a moment’s hesitation she says, “Seeing how much more white female boxers are marketed compared to me, even when I’m doing so much inside and outside the sport.”

It’s a common story, we agree, noting that Ariana Grande received many front-page splashes for Wicked over Cynthia Erivo, the black woman in the lead role. Ali also recalls the controversy at the Paris Olympics, when the Algerian boxer Imane Khelif knocked out Italy's Angela Carini in 46 seconds — and was subsequently trolled by the media. “If she were white, there wouldn’t have been the same reaction,” Ali says. “It’s like what happened with [South African runner] Caster Semenya. She’s been targeted her whole career and it’s heartbreaking.” She adds: “Honestly, it's just wild to me, but that’s the day and age that we live in. People think that white women are more marketable and it’s really sad. It takes the fun out of something I love so much.”

“Social media makes it seem like everyone’s life is perfect, but
I don’t want to be part of that. When I’ve been knocked
down - literally or figuratively - I remind myself of why I started”
Ali deleted social media from her phone at the start of last year and she hasn’t looked back. “I was surrounded by all these people, [fellow boxers], that only posted their wins. They’d never post their losses. I’ve always been vocal about sharing my failures because you don’t know who’s watching; who needs to know that failure is normal and you can come out the other end.”

Ali believes that “failure teaches you more than success ever could.” She tells me that “social media makes it seem like everyone’s life is perfect, but I don’t want to be part of that. When I’ve been knocked down — literally or figuratively — I remind myself of why I started. I think about 12-year-old Ramla, walking into a boxing gym for the first time, feeling out of place but determined. I tell myself: show up for her.”

For Ali, success isn’t just about titles or trophies. “It’s about the small wins, like buying my first house. Growing up in a council flat, I never had a garden. Now I do and that feels like proof of what years of hard work can build.”
Her resistance to social media means she misses a post that went viral the week we meet, which champions girls learning self-defence at school. It was reposted with the line: ‘All boys should be taught not to be abusive incels’.
I ask if she agrees.

“Strength isn’t about how much you can lift - it’s about
showing up when you don’t want to. That’s what the
women at Sisters Club have taught me”
“It’s like when a woman has been sexually assaulted and someone’s first instinct is, well, she shouldn’t have worn that. No, I should feel liberated enough to wear whatever the fuck I want. And a man should not feel like he can do whatever he wants because of how I’m dressed.”

She believes women should be taught self-defence because it’s going to build confidence and increase their self-esteem — which is what boxing did for her initially. “But boys should also be taught to be respectful to women. If you start from a young age, you nurture it into kids to develop these good habits into adulthood.”

Through her charity, Sisters Club, Ali provides free self-defence classes to women from underrepresented communities. “Strength isn’t about how much you can lift — it’s about showing up when you don’t want to. That’s what the women at Sisters Club have taught me,” she says. “Many of the women we work with are older or wear hijabs and don’t feel comfortable in traditional gyms. I want to create spaces where they feel safe, seen and celebrated.”

Her production company, 786 Entertainment, is another extension of her mission. It focuses on minority- and female-led narratives. “786 is deeply tied to my faith — it’s the numerical translation of ‘In the name of God’,” she explains. “We’ve already got three films on our slate; it’s exciting to build something meaningful.”

The company was co-founded with her husband and former boxing coach, Richard Moore, who she met at her gym in 2016. He proposed three months later and is now her manager. “I love working with my husband,” she says. “We probably haven’t spent a day apart since we first met. He brings out the best in me and I hope I bring out the best in him. It’s just a great partnership.”
Their relationship — and Moore’s conversion to Islam — is at the heart of
In The Shadows, a biopic based on Ali’s extraordinary life. Filming has just wrapped in London and Kenya (which doubled as Somalia, as it was too dangerous to film in her birthplace). It stars Bafta-winning Top Boy actor Jasmine Jobson as Ali and Finn Cole (Peaky Blinders) as Moore.

“Honestly, I want my face everywhere;
I want people to be sick of seeing me”
“Watching someone play me was surreal,” Ali says. “I saw the rough cut last week and it’s amazing — and I’m not just saying that because it’s about me!”

I ask Moore how the experience was for him? “It felt more weird to see someone play Ramla than [to watch] someone playing me, especially because there’s a younger version of her in the film,” he says. “Obviously I didn’t know her at that time, so it’s like getting a glimpse into the person that I’m married to, and in love with, as a child.”
Ali’s multi-hyphenate career and relentless energy is, she says, inspired by women like Ilwad Elman, who runs the Elman Peace organisation in Somalia. “She’s been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize three times because of her incredible work providing opportunities for women through sports and community initiatives. What she’s doing for Somalia, and for women, is phenomenal.”

As for what’s next? “My biggest goals for 2025 are to become a world champion and see 786 flourish. I want the projects on our slate to move into production — and, honestly, I want my face everywhere; I want people to be sick of seeing me.”
It’s hard to imagine anyone tiring of Ramla Ali. She’s a fighter, a visionary and a voice for change — and she’s just getting started.

#RHOA: Porsha Williams Makes Surprising Reveal About RHOA Season 16
Porsha Williams is admitting that she was just a little nervous to film The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 16.
The mom of one was previously on RHOA from Seasons 5 through 13, and in spite of her experience with being in front of the cameras, she admitted that she was just a little rusty to be back in front of them after her two year hiatus. Porsha caught up with People at Bravo Fan Fest on Nov. 23, where she opened up about how hard this had been for her.

"The first day of filming, I kid you not, I felt like a rookie," she explained. "I promise you, I stopped midway, and I was like, 'Am I supposed to be looking this way?' It took me a minute to recalibrate and make the cameras invisible again."

Porsha Williams says she put up boundaries while filming RHOA Season 16
Once she got used to the cameras being there, Porsha was able to then allow herself to be vulnerable in front of her fellow RHOA Season 16 cast members, but she was also firm with her boundaries. She told the publication that she was selective with what she talked about with her cast members — like her ongoing divorce from Simon Guobadia.

Porsha Williams attends her Pampered By Porsha Sheets X Bloomingdale's meet & greet at Bloomingdale's Lenox Square on May 17, 2024 in Atlanta, Georgia.
"I really got into therapy and a big part of therapy was her suggesting self-preservation, which is hard to do when you're in an ensemble cast and you have to speak about your life," she explained. "But I really had boundaries about what I would open up to with some of the other girls and what I would not. So just kind of like being and protecting myself, but also being with everyone else has been a good thing for me."

An unseen clip from RHOA Season 16, released during Bravo Fan Fest and posted to Bravo's Instagram account, revealed that Porsha will be talking about her divorcefrom Simon on the show. In the clip, Porsha can be seen heading to her lawyer's office to discuss her divorce.

"In my relationship with Simon, I felt like that if I had him by my side, we would conquer anything," she explained during a confessional. "However, I started just realizing a lot of different things that turned out to be untruth."
During the #NoFilter panel at Bravo Fan Fest, Porsha also admitted that she feels at home being back in front of the cameras. "Maybe I'm just made for this," she said. "I wanted to be unfiltered this season."

#HipHopNews: Rakim’s new fintech platform reshapes music industry future
Hip-hop pioneer Rakim is revolutionizing the intersection of music and finance with his latest venture: Notes, a fintech platform designed to empower independent artists in the urban music space. The platform addresses long-standing industry challenges that have historically limited creative control and financial independence for musicians.

Notes, according to several sources, represents a significant shift in how independent artists can approach their careers, offering comprehensive solutions that go beyond traditional banking services. The platform’s foundation rests on three core pillars: capital access, financial education and business development.
Independent artists often face substantial barriers when seeking funding for their projects. Notes provides alternative financing options that don’t require artists to surrender creative control or ownership rights. This approach marks a departure from traditional industry practices where creators often trade autonomy for financial support.

The platform’s educational component focuses on essential financial principles that are often overlooked in artistic development. Artists gain access to resources covering investment strategies, revenue stream diversification and long-term wealth building. This knowledge proves particularly valuable in an era where streaming platforms have dramatically altered income patterns for musicians.

Notes arrives at a crucial moment in the music industry’s evolution. The digital revolution has democratized music distribution, but many artists still struggle with the business aspects of their careers. The platform addresses this gap by providing tools that help creators understand and navigate the complex relationship between artistic expression and financial success.

The initiative draws from Rakim‘s decades of industry experience and his understanding of the challenges independent artists face. By combining cutting-edge technology with practical industry knowledge, Notes creates an ecosystem where artists can develop sustainable careers while maintaining their creative integrity.
The platform’s approach to artist development extends beyond immediate financial needs, focusing on building generational wealth through music. This long-term perspective includes guidance on intellectual property management, licensing opportunities and investment strategies specific to the entertainment industry.

Notes also emphasizes the importance of financial literacy in achieving creative independence. The platform provides tools for budget management, tour planning and project funding that help artists make informed decisions about their careers. This comprehensive approach addresses both the creative and business aspects of music careers.
As the music industry continues to evolve, platforms like Notes play an increasingly crucial role in artist development. The initiative represents a significant step toward creating a more equitable music industry where independent artists have the resources and knowledge needed to build sustainable careers.

This innovative approach to artist empowerment could potentially reshape how future generations approach their music careers. By providing both financial tools and educational resources, Notes helps bridge the gap between artistic vision and business success, creating new possibilities for independent artists in the digital age.

The platform’s launch signals a new chapter in the relationship between artists and the music business, one where financial empowerment and creative independence go hand in hand. As the industry continues to transform, Notes stands as a testament to the possibility of building successful, independent careers in music while maintaining artistic integrity and financial independence.

There are no survivors after midair collision between passenger jet and military helicopter

A regional American Airlines passenger jet and a Black Hawk military helicopter collided over Washington, D.C., on Wednesday night in the nation's first major commercial airline crash since 2009.
President Donald Trump said there were no survivors from the crash in remarks Thursday morning, calling the crash a "tragedy of terrible proportions."

"Our hearts are shattered," Trump said in a press briefing at the White House, after holding a moment of silence. "Our prayers are with you now and in the days to come."
Crews have switched from a search and rescue operation to a recovery mission.
Twenty-eight bodies have been recovered, including 27 from the plane and one from the Black Hawk helicopter, Donnelly said.

Runway operations at the airport resumed around 11 a.m. Thursday.
There were 60 passengers and four crew members aboard the American Airlines flight 5342, which can hold up to 70 passengers. It departed from Wichita, Kansas, according to the FAA.

The Army helicopter, which had three soldiers on board, was on an "annual proficiency training flight" at the time of the crash, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth said in a video message.
"It was a fairly experienced crew that was doing a required annual night evaluation," Hegseth said. "They did have night vision goggles."
It was based at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, according to an Army official. "We are working with local officials and will provide additional information once it becomes available," the official said.

The Federal Aviation Administration said preliminary information indicates that a PSA Airlines Bombardier CRJ700 regional jet collided in midair with a Sikorsky H-60 helicopter while on approach to the airport.
Officials said the American Airlines aircraft's fuselage has been located in three difference sections of the river in waist-deep water. It was found "inverted."

The black boxes from the plane have not been recovered, a source with direct knowledge told ABC News.

Rihanna Sits With A$AP Rocky’s Mom And Sister During His Criminal Trial
Reports that Rihanna would be in attendance for her partner, A$AP Rocky’s, criminal trial have proven themselves accurate, as court reporter Meghann Cuniff has revealed that the singer is, indeed, in the courtroom gallery, seated beside family members.

“I just sat down in the courtroom for A$AP Rocky‘s gun assault trial, and Rihanna is sitting in the gallery with Rocky’s mother and sister,” Cuniff shared via X/Twitter Wednesday afternoon.
TMZ reported yesterday that the Caribbean artist had plans to support her partner in person, and that she would likely sit “in the gallery with the regular folks.”

The sighting comes on day three of Rocky’s — born Rakim Mayers — Los Angeles trial, where he is charged with two felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm in connection with an incident involving former friend and A$AP Mob member, A$AP Relli, whose birth name is Terrell Ephron.
Ephron testified against Mayers during day two of the trial, claiming the “Fashion Killa” rapper threatened his life before showing up to his hotel with “two goons” and letting off a shot that “grazed his knuckles.”  The former A$AP Mob member claimed that he was “willing to die for my respect. If this is what you want to do, I still have my dignity,” after Rocky pulled out the gun.

Rocky has been adamant in declaring his innocence, refusing what many considered a decent plea deal before the trial got underway.

“[A$AP Rocky’s] eager to tell his story and would love the opportunity to do so…He’s very articulate and intelligent, he’s a good human being and that will come out if he testifies,” his attorney Joe Tacopina stated. “But that decision isn’t going to be made yet. And it depends on how the case goes.”

Male Sex Worker Details Alleged Experience At Diddy “Freak-Off” Parties

Another exposé on the alleged heinous actions of Sean “Diddy” Combs has been published by Rolling Stone, where they interviewed a number of figures previously associated with the mogul. One of whom, a male sex worker using the pseudonym Nathan, shared his alleged experience of being paid by Puff for his services during the mogul’s much-discussed “freak-off” parties.

Nathan claims that Diddy last reached out to him for a “freak-off” in 2019, hoping to set up a threesome at 1 Hotel in Miami between the two men and a woman flying in from Hawaii. While that particular plan never came to fruition, Nathan claims he was paid anywhere between $2,000 and $5,000 for each sexual encounter, adding that the freak-offs were “ritualistic,” involving the Bad Boy founder “choreographing every movement” until he was no longer sober enough to do so.

“I think he would try to regulate her pleasure,” Nathan said of Puff directing their sex sessions.
He also claims he was often summoned to “lavish” hotel rooms in Miami, New York City, and Los Angeles, and was forced to surrender his phone before undressing and grabbing a bottle of baby oil that was warmed in a tub of hot water.

“I don’t use baby oil to this day because of all the baby oil I used to put on me,” he told the publication. “The hotel rooms were freezing. The baby oil was warm, so if you were cold and your clothes were locked in another room, the baby oil kept you warm.”
In addition to participating, Nathan alleged that Puff also enjoyed playing the voyeur, standing in the shadows while watching him have sex with female guests — including Diddy’s various girlfriends.

“He would pretend to leave the room but, like, go around the corner and crawl in the room on the floor and peek around the corner or use the mirrors,” Nathan claimed. “Really creepy sh*t, obviously. Because it’s, like, your girlfriend. Why do you even have to do that?

Nathan also spoke of Combs’ alleged drug use, saying the “All About The Benjamins” artist preferred ecstasy and ketamine, claiming they gave Combs “that ecstatic feeling he needs for sex.”  He also suspects Combs drugged him at a “freak-off” giving him a “horrible reaction.”
“This stuff had me so out of my mind,” he shared of the experience before describing the New Yorker as “entrenched” in his compulsions. “He’s a sex addict….  He’s an obsessive drug addict. That’s a major part of his problem.”

Combs’ legal team has made an effort to frame Diddy as “reformed” following the 2016 incident where he was seen abusing then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura. They cited his willingness to come to NYC knowing he’d be arrested — rather than resist or go on the run — as a demonstration of his “trustworthiness,” hoping it would lead to the producer being released on bond.

“It’s bullsh*t,” Nathan proclaimed. “He’s not reformed. He just wanted to get out of jail. He’s the same person.”
While Combs’ lawyers declined to address Nathan’s claims, lead attorney Marc Agnifilo says that the defense in this case interviewed six male sex workers connected to Combs last September.
“I have asked all the questions I could think of: Was anybody too drunk? Was anybody too high? Did anyone express any hesitation? Was there the slightest inkling that possibly, possibly the woman wasn’t consenting?…No. No. No. No.”

Combs is currently awaiting trial at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center on charges of racketeering conspiracy; sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion; and transportation to engage in prostitution.

Latto Accused Of Ordering Beatdown Of Pregnant Woman That Caused Miscarriage

Latto has been accused of ordering the beatdown of a female social media influencer, resulting in the alleged pregnant victim suffering a miscarriage.
The explosive claim against the “Big Energy” rapper came from a woman known as Gorgeous Doll, who claims she was jumped outside of an Atlanta club at Latto’s behest.

Gorgeous Doll’s accusation was in response to Latto warning another social media user of repercussions from discussing her alleged relationship with rap star 21 Savage.
“Last btch spoke on my man on tik tok got whooped outside the club in the A u read that too?” Latto wrote in a previous post addressing a famous eyelash technician, clarifying that she’s a “multimillionaire,” as opposed to merely being worth seven figures alone.
Gorgeous Doll uploaded her own post, claiming to be the victim in question while accusing Latto of knowingly facilitating the assault despite having knowledge of her pregnancy.

“You admitted to having me jumped when you knew I was pregnant, causing a miscarriage,” Gorgeous Doll alleged. “You just said that the last person who spoke on your man—and who did we say your man was—got jumped outside of a club in Atlanta.”

The alleged victim continued, reiterating Latto’s seeming admission of guilt. “You literally just told the whole world that you’re in a relationship with a married man,” Gorgeous Doll added. “Because the only person that I ever brought up was Savage.”

Gorgeous Doll’s claim against Latto comes amid speculation that 21 Savage is the “man” that the 26-year-old has been gushing over since 2023.
While Latto, nor 21 Savage, have confirmed their relationship, internet sleuths seem to believe the pair are an item, pointing to numerous occasions in which they were in the same setting at the same time as clues to their romance.

Latto’s camp has yet to respond to a request for a statement regarding the allegation.

She will be presented with the honor on Saturday (Feb. 1) at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre ahead of the 2025 Grammy Awards the following day.
Speaking with Gayle King on CBS Mornings, the Queens native discussed her career beginnings and passion for rap.

“It’s literally a second language to me,” explained the 55-year-old of freestyling before hitting an impromptu rhyme. “It was just as easy as breathing.”
She continued to detail, “I felt like my life was just a musical. Every block had music, everywhere you went there was a DJ,” adding, “One thing about Queensbridge is you always heard a way out… I did get out but it’s never gonna get out of me. I’m going to be QB till the day I die.”
Roxanne Shante is among an esteemed group of musicians to be honored with Lifetime Achievement Awards this year. Frankie Beverly, The Clash, Dr. Bobby Jones, Taj Mahal, Prince, and Frankie Valli will also receive special recognition. Additionally, Erroll Garner, Glyn Johns, and Tania León are the Trustees Award recipients; and Dr. Leo Beranek is the Technical GRAMMY Award honoree.

“It’s an amazing privilege to honor this eclectic group of music icons during the year’s biggest week in music,” detailed Harvey Mason jr., CEO of the Recording Academy in a statement. “Each of this year’s Special Merit Award recipients has left an indelible mark on music, from paving the way for others to innovation that forever has changed the trajectory of the musical landscape. We can’t wait to celebrate this group and their achievements in February.”

Wendy Williams Reportedly Fires Lawyer For Failing To Challenge Guardianship

Wendy Williams is desperate to end her guardianship, firing her court-appointed attorney, Linda Redlisky, for failing to push her case to trial.
According to TMZ, Wendy Williams reportedly wanted Redlisky to file paperwork challenging the guardianship but was frustrated when nothing happened.

Currently in an NYC assisted-living facility she calls a “luxury prison,” Wendy Williams has no access to incoming calls or smart devices. Despite claims of dementia, Wendy has sounded lucid in recent interviews.
She hopes to travel to Florida for her father’s 94th birthday and is doing everything possible to regain her independence. Redlisky has yet to comment.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver Advocates For Shorter Games w/ 10-Minute Quarters
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver recently shared his thoughts on potentially shortening NBA games, suggesting the idea of four 10-minute quarters instead of the current 12-minute format. “I’m a fan of four 10-minute quarters… I think a two-hour format for a game is more consistent with modern television habits,” Adam Silver explained during his appearance on the “Dan Patrick Show.”

While this idea may seem radical, Adam Silver pointed out that it aligns more closely with the structure of international basketball and college games. He compared it to baseball’s pitch clock, which has successfully shortened the length of games. While Silver admitted that this shift would drastically alter the game, he believes it might improve the overall viewing experience. Though not on the immediate horizon, the conversation signals the NBA’s openness to evolving the game to better fit the fast-paced media consumption habits of today’s fans.

Grammys to feature star-studded salute to Quincy Jones

The Grammy Awards will feature a tribute to late music icon Quincy Jones. As well as the In Memoriam segment, the prestigious music ceremony will see “a star-studded salute to the life and legacy of Quincy Jones, and touching tributes celebrating the spirit of the city of Los Angeles.”

The legendary producer died in November 2024, at the age of 91, and his life and legacy will be reflected upon at the awards bash at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on February 2, the Recording Academy confirmed.
Stevie Wonder, ‘Wicked’ star Cynthia Erivo and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin are among new names confirmed to perform tributes.

Plus, Brad Paisley, Janelle Monáe, Lainey Wilson, John Legend, Sheryl Crow, Herbie Hancock, St. Vincent, Jacob Collier and Alabama Shakes’ Brittany Howard.
They join previously confirmed performers Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, Charli XCX, Doechii, RAYE, Sabrina Carpenter, Shakira, Benson Boone and Teddy Swims, all of whom are nominees.

The tributes to the city of Los Angeles comes amid the ongoing wildfires in the California, which forced more than 100,000 people to flee their homes, including famous musicians, and killed at least 29 people.

Grammys bosses said the ceremony is going ahead with a “renewed sense of purpose” with a focus on fundraising.
Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. said: “The upcoming Grammy Awards won’t just be about celebrating and honouring the best in music this year.

“They will also show how the power of music can help rebuild, uplift and support those in need. We are thrilled that so many artists in our community are banding together at this time to show support for their fellow music makers and others impacted by the recent wildfires.”
Comedian Trevor Noah is hosting the ceremony for the fifth consecutive year.

Too Short’s Brother, Wayne Shaw, Tragically Killed In Oakland Robbery
In a tragic event that has rocked the Oakland community, Wayne Shaw, the older brother of iconic West Coast rapper Too Short, was fatally shot during a botched robbery attempt early Wednesday morning in the 1200 block of 49th Avenue.

According to reports from The Mercury News and ABC7, multiple suspects attempted to break into a building, believed to be a marijuana grow house, by ramming a vehicle into the property.
Wayne Shaw, 61, reportedly stepped outside during the attempted robbery and was confronted by the suspects.
Tragically, Shaw was shot multiple times. Police and emergency responders transported Shaw to Highland Hospital in Oakland.
Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries a few hours later.

Oakland Police Lt. Gloria Beltran confirmed that the suspects fled the scene in an unidentified vehicle.
Investigators are currently trying to determine whether Shaw was specifically targeted or if the crime was random.
Authorities are also examining the nature of the building and Shaw’s connection to it.

The Oakland Police Department urges anyone with information to contact their Homicide Section at (510) 238-3821 or submit tips anonymously at (510) 238-7950.

Wayne Shaw’s death marks a significant personal loss for Too Short, whose real name is Todd Anthony Shaw.
A pioneer in West Coast hip-hop, Too Short grew up in Oakland and began his illustrious recording career in the 1980s.
The city honored his legacy by naming a street in East Oakland after him in 2022.
Too Short, known for his groundbreaking music and contributions to hip-hop culture, has not yet publicly addressed his brother’s death.

The Oakland community, however, has already expressed grief and solidarity, mourning the loss of a respected figure in the neighborhood.
This tragic incident highlights the ongoing concerns about crime in Oakland.
Despite various efforts by law enforcement, the city continues to grapple with issues surrounding violence and property crimes.

The community is calling for increased security measures and collaborative efforts to address these challenges.
This case serves as a reminder of the importance of coming together to seek justice and create safer environments for all residents.

Madonna Surprises Crowd With Stand-Up Set At Comedy Cellar With Amy Schumer
Madonna dropped by the Comedy Cellar this weekend, joining her pal Amy Schumer. The singer performed an impromptu comedy set, surprising the audience with her unexpected appearance.
Schumer shared an Instagram photo of herself sitting next to Madonna at a table reserved for Comedy Cellar comedians. Another viral photo captured Madonna on stage, reading jokes from a notebook placed on a stool.

According to sources, Madonna's set lasted 30 minutes and featured jokes about Donald Trump's deportation policies, her staff shortages, and cursing. Despite not having a strong comedic background, she reportedly got laughs with her profanities and political humor.
This is not Madonna's first foray into comedy. In 2017, she participated in a Comedy Cellar showcase with Schumer and has also displayed her comedic skills on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon."

Madonna, 66, is currently working on new music and has been documenting her creative process on Instagram. She has also teased a biopic about her life and career and opened up about facing roadblock in her latest update.

Bob the Drag Queen to Host 13th Annual Queerties
The 2025 Queerties Awards will have one badass emcee front and center when Bob the Drag Queen hosts the March 11 ceremony,
And being a badass pop culture icon means unflinchingly holding truth to power — or in this case, calling out President Donald Trump’s effort to limit the rights of transgender people, from banning gender-affirming care for teens to blocking trans folks from serving in the military.

“The Trump administration has gone full-scorched Earth in an attempt to dismantle queerness from every aspect, from trans to nonbinary; people trying to make our existence seem perverse and perverted, when in reality, queer people have been here as long as our cis, straight and hetero counterparts,” Bob told TheWrap in an exclusive interview.

Now more than ever, it is important for the LGBTQ+ community to celebrate its achievements and one another, the performer said: “Engaging with queer content builds community. It does more than you could imagine.”

As a nine-time Queerties nominee and the 2023 winner of Best Podcast for “Sibling Rivalry” with fellow “RuPaul’s Drag Race” alum Monét X Change (in addition to their Peabody, Emmy and GLAAD Media Awards), Bob is excited to step up to lead the live event in Los Angeles.
“I wanted to be there to work craft services, but I said, ‘Are there any hosting options available?’ They said, ‘Oh, we were going to have Beyoncé do it,’ but they asked her to step down. She did not want to at first, but when she heard it was me, she said, ‘Well, that makes the most sense.’ No, do not write that — actually, you can write that if you want,” they joked. “I have been to The Queerties and I have been a recipient several times, so it seemed really exciting to get an opportunity to host the show.”

And while Gabby Windey can probably expect an invite to the awards show since she did not vote them out on “The Traitors” Season 3, will Bob’s queer peers like Bob Harper, Carolyn Wiger, Chrishell Stause and Lord Ivar Mountbatten who did vote against them be as lucky?

“I am going to go ahead and extend an invite: The entire cast is welcome to join, even Boston Rob,” Bob shared. “I have no hard feelings toward anyone at ‘The Traitors.’ I think Lord Ivar is in the U.K., so I do not know if he will be, you know, spending time in the States. He is quite a prestigious man.”

In addition to “Drag Race,” “The Traitors” and “Sibling Rivalry,” Bob the Drag Queen is also known for HBO’s “We’re Here,” Dropout’s “Dimension 20: Dungeons and Drag Queens,” their current “This Is Wild!” world tour and their upcoming book “Harriet Tubman: Live in Concert,” out March 27.

One final note from Bob: “Trump for prison 2025. Let’s make it happen.”
You can vote for your favorite 2025 Queerties nominees through Feb. 25. The 13th Annual Queerties Awards will then be held on March 11 and will begin streaming on WOW Presents Plus on March 18.

Jamie Foxx's Alleged Son Accuses Him Of Being A Deadbeat Dad

Jamie Foxx has spoken out a lot about his life as of late, especially given his recent Netflix special, his health scare, and a lot of other circumstances. But one thing that some fans still have questions for are some allegations from a man who claims to be the actor and musician's illegitimate son, alleging that they haven't spoken to each other in three years. Basically, the man claims that Foxx never supported him and that he left him to live in a car despite his riches and being born with "a silver spoon" in his mouth. We'll see if he responds to these allegations, although they seem easy to dismiss given many folks' skepticism over the matter.

Nevertheless, Jamie Foxx has other pieces of drama and potential contention to address, such as what many people interpreted as a Katt Williams diss during an episode of Complex's "GOAT Talk" series. "My favorite GOAT cuss word is a sentence," Jamie remarked. "B***h made a** n***a… for me [it’s] actually scientific. Because when I see a guy that I’m talking about, he’s usually small, he’s 128 pounds. B***h made. A lot of comedians. I’ll leave it at that… a lot of little motherf*****g comedians. B***h made a** n***as. F**k out of here, man… tiny motherf****r." Of course, no one really knows what he mean here, but folks connected the dots they saw.

For those unaware, Katt Williams has made a lot of recent jokes about Jamie Foxx that possibly rubbed him the wrong way, although we suppose that comedians eventually bond over that type of commentary. Nevertheless, some folks took particular note of Williams' jabs at Foxx's wealth, the accusations and conspiracy theories that he's a clone, and playing "butt-naked basketball."

Elsewhere, Jamie Foxx's story crossed over with some more bizarre and unexpected territories, especially when his pursuit of assault charges reportedly involved Odd Future's Jasper Dolphin for questioning. Definitely not the celebrity match-up that we expected, but a notable one nonetheless. We'll see if he ever addresses these rumors and allegations concerning this supposed secret son and if more conspiracy theories emerge around his many current storylines.

Jennifer Aniston Denies Rumors About Dating Former President Barack Obama
*Rumors are swirling that Jennifer Aniston is dating former President Barack Obama, fueling speculation that his marriage to Michelle Obama is over.
Insiders claim it’s an “open secret” in Washington, D.C., that the former first couple has quietly separated and is waiting until after the election cycle to announce their divorce.

Now, Aniston is addressing the dating rumors, firmly denying any romantic involvement with Obama. However, social media users remain unconvinced, with the gossip gaining traction online.
With Michelle Obama’s recent absences from high-profile events—such as Jimmy Carter’s funeral and Donald Trump’s inauguration—many are reading into the situation. While the supposed connection between Aniston and Obama seems far-fetched, the internet is buzzing with theories.

The speculation has even resurfaced in a past interview where Aniston reacted to the claims. The actress said: “Of all the calls you get from your publicist where you’re just like, ‘Oh no, what’s it gonna be?’ or you get an email saying some cheesy tabloid is gonna make up a story – and then it’s that…”
She told Kimmel that “I was not mad at it,” referring to the rumors, but emphasized that it was “absolutely untrue”.
“I’ve met [Barack] once. I know Michelle more than him,” she added (watch the X clip above).

Adding to the speculation is a supposedly leaked DM from Aniston’s inner circle, hinting at a possible romance with Obama, along with claims of his alleged separation from Michelle—see the post below.
Meanwhile, in the X clip below, Megyn Kelly breaks down the rumors that Barack and Michelle are separating along with some juicy tea that seems to confirm the Aniston dating rumors are true. However, the former FOX host noted that it would be a “political earthquake” if the Obamas divorced.

Black-Owned Brand Oh Happy Dani Pulls Products from Target Amid Retailer’s Rollback on DEI Initiatives

Black-owned stationery and lifestyle brand Oh Happy Dani has officially started removing its products from Target shelves, following the retailer’s decision to roll back its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives. The company announced the move on social media, stating that staying in the retailer no longer aligned with its core values.
“Oh Happy Dani has always been built on the very principles that have recently been rolled back by this company,” the brand shared in a statement. “Staying true to our mission means moving forward in a way that aligns with our values.
While acknowledging that not all businesses have the ability to sever ties with major retailers so quickly, Oh Happy Dani urged consumers to actively support Black-owned brands as they navigate this changing landscape.

This decision follows Target’s announcement last week that it would be dissolving its DEI goals, ending external DEI reporting, and scaling back programs supporting Black and minority-owned businesses. The retailer originally committed to expanding diversity efforts following the murder of George Floyd in 2020, pledging to increase Black employee representation, invest in Black entrepreneurs, and spend $2 billion with Black-owned businesses by 2025.
Target’s shift mirrors a growing trend among corporations stepping away from DEI initiatives due to political pressure, legal challenges, and financial concerns. Companies like Meta, McDonald’s, Walmart, and Tractor Supply have made similar moves, citing various reasons including the Supreme Court’s ruling on affirmative action and pushback from conservative activists.

Despite Target CEO Brian Cornell’s previous statements supporting diversity efforts, the retailer has been facing criticism from both sides of the political spectrum. In 2023, Target faced backlash from conservative groups over its Pride Month collection, leading the company to pull certain LGBTQ+ items from stores. That controversy was later cited as a contributing factor to weaker sales.

For brands like Oh Happy Dani, Target’s latest decision represents a step away from progress, prompting them to reconsider their partnerships. The company stated that while its journals and planners may remain in stores for a short time, it has begun the process of phasing them out entirely.
“Oh Happy Dani was discovered by so many in Target aisles, and this decision wasn’t made lightly,” the brand shared. “But our good work is far from over.”
