#RHOA: Cynthia Bailey Is Looking to Transform Her Body in 2025: "I Have a Confession"
Cynthia Bailey is ready to “regain control.” The Real Housewives of Atlanta mom kicked off the new year with an honest message about her health journey and very relatable struggles with self-image. Cynthia posted a January 1 Instagram in which she detailed the factors that led to her weight gain and how she planned to lose the extra pounds in 2025.
“My weight was something I never worried about. As a model for most of my adult life, staying fit came naturally — or at least it felt that way,” she said in a video. “However, turning 50 brought some unexpected changes. Menopause hit hard. My lifestyle became more unpredictable with constant work travel. And, let’s be honest, that happy weight you gain in a new relationship? Well, that didn’t help either. Suddenly, what felt like overnight, I didn’t feel like I looked like myself anymore.”
Cynthia revealed she currently weighs 205 pounds and wants to lose 50 through WeightWatchers, a points-based nutrition program that assists in weight loss. The Alabama native said she tried “to conceal [her] weight” with various modeling “tricks,” like using flattering poses in photos, wearing all black, and tying a jacket around her waist. But as time went on, Cynthia determined those methods were no longer effective, as social media users began to point out her physical changes.
“I have a confession to make: I’ve been deleting comments about my weight,” she explained in the video caption. “The truth is, I’ve put on more pounds than I care to admit, and I’m finally ready to do something about it.”
Cynthia breaks down her ultimate health and fitness goals
Cynthia explained she wasn’t interested in being “skinny,” nor was she “chasing [her] old model weight.” She was, instead, focused on “getting back to a place” where she felt “strong, healthy, and confident.”
The entrepreneur told her fans she tried losing weight on her own but struggled to find a sustainable solution. So, what did she do? She started working with Weight Watchers to develop a nutrition plan suitable for her busy lifestyle. Cynthia said she wanted a diet program that kept her consistent while allowing her to enjoy her favorite foods. She also promised to share her health journey on social media and called on her fans to hold her “accountable.”
“It’s about being able to fit into my clothes again, feeling good in my body, and regaining control,” she said in the video. “This journey isn’t just about looking better, it’s about feeling like myself again. Here’s to taking control and living a healthy lifestyle. Let’s do this!”
Several days into the new year, Cynthia returned to Instagram to share footage of her first 2025 workout session. The January 3 Stories showed the mother of one walking on the treadmill, swinging power ropes, and throwing a medicine ball.
"We are back!! Let’s go 2025!!! The journey begins!" she captioned an Instagram. "Great day 1 of the year workout with my trainer/hypewoman [Tee Caldwell of Lit Fit Nutrition] & the struggle was real."

#HipHopNews: Drake Withdraws Petition Filing Against UMG & Spotify
Drake has voluntarily withdrawn his pre-action filing against UMG and Spotify today (Jan. 15).
Drake shocked the music community after he filed a pre-action case against UMG and Spotify back in November. Drake’s Frozen Moments LLC accused UMG of launching an illegal “scheme” involving bots, payola and other methods to boost Kendrick’s hit song ‘Not Like Us’ which was a diss against Drake.
Rapper Ye Denies Claims of Misconduct in Recent Lawsuit
In a controversial turn of events, rapper Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, is embroiled in a lawsuit filed by his former assistant, Lauren Pisciotta. The lawsuit accuses the rapper of serious misconduct, including drugging, sexual assault, and trafficking women as "sexual gifts" for colleagues. The allegations extend to claims of Ye using job openings as a means to recruit sex partners. This civil case surfaces amidst the federal indictment of another industry giant, Sean Diddy Combs, on charges of conspiracy and drug trafficking. Despite the severity of the accusations, Ye has publicly denied all allegations made against him in the lawsuit. The music industry watches closely as these legal battles unfold, raising questions about the conduct and accountability of high-profile figures within its ranks.
Both UMG and Spotify had released statement denying Drake’s claims. Drizzy had later also filed a second action of defamation against UMG over some of the controversial lyrics on the track.
However, in an interesting turn of events, today (January 14), Drake has voluntarily withdrawn his pre-action filing.
In documents filed with the New York Supreme Court (which you can view here), Drake’s legal team revealed that are withdrawing their pre-action disclosure. There is no confirmation if this involves any out of court settlement between the parties. See their statement below.
“Please take notice that petitioner and movant Frozen Moments, LLC, By its attorneys Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP, hereby withdraws its order to show cause seeking pre-action disclosure and preservation of certain documents and communications from respondent UMG Recordings, Inc. and pre-action disclosure of certain documents and communications from respondent Spotify USA Inc., with exhibits originally filed in New York Supreme Court On November 25, 2024.
Please take further notice that petitioner hereby voluntarily discontinues. This special proceeding as to all respondents without costs to any party. Plaintiffs met and Conferred with respondents on January 14, 2025, regarding this filing. Respondent Spotify, which has filed an opposition to the order to show cause, responded that Spotify has no objection to the Withdrawal and discontinuance. Respondent UMG, which has not yet filed an opposition to the Order to show cause, has reserved its position.”
There is still no word on the pending defamation case filed in Texas.

Keke Palmer’s shocking revelation on ‘Scream Queens’ set
Keke Palmer‘s new memoir “Master of Me” pulls back the curtain on a troubling incident that occurred during her time on the hit series “Scream Queens.” The multifaceted entertainer reveals a moment where a white cast member made an inappropriate comparison between Palmer and civil rights icon Martin Luther King Jr., highlighting ongoing issues of racial insensitivity in Hollywood.
Behind the scenes tension
The incident unfolded when Palmer attempted to mediate a disagreement on set. Her well-intentioned intervention was met with resistance when her co-star reportedly responded with the jarring question, “Who do you think you are? Martin f—ing Luther King?” The exchange showcases the unique challenges Black performers often face in predominantly white spaces, where their authority can be undermined through racially charged comments.
Moving forward without closure
In her memoir, Palmer discusses how the incident, while hurtful, didn’t diminish her spirit or professional drive. The actress notes that despite her co-star’s recent social media engagement, including congratulatory messages about the book’s release, no private apology has been extended regarding the racial comment. Palmer’s pointed observation that “She knows what she did” speaks volumes about the complicated dynamics of accountability in Hollywood.
Breaking the silence
Palmer’s decision to share this experience arrives at a crucial moment in entertainment industry discourse. Her story adds to the growing collection of voices addressing the subtle and overt ways racism manifests in professional settings. The actress’s candid revelation serves as a reminder that even in seemingly progressive spaces, microaggressions continue to impact performers of color.
The legacy of perseverance

From her early days as a child actor to her current status as a multifaceted entertainment powerhouse, she has navigated the complexities of Hollywood while maintaining her authenticity. By sharing her experience, Palmer contributes to a larger dialogue about creating more inclusive and equitable work environments across all industries.

Sheinelle Jones Takes Leave of Absence From NBC’s ‘Today’ Show to Deal With Family Health Matter
NBC Today co-anchor Sheinelle Jones says that she is taking leave from the show as she deals with a family health matter. Jones announced the news on Instagram Wednesday morning, with co-anchors Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin addressing it at the top of the 8 a.m. hour.
“We know so many of you have been asking about Sheinelle and missing her and we miss her too,” Guthrie said. “Sheinelle, we all love you and we are so looking forward to having you back,” Melvin added.
Jones has been with the Today show for more than a decade, joining the morning program’s weekend edition in 2014. She was named co-host of the show’s third hour in 2019, where she worked alongside Dylan Dreyer, Melvin, and other talent from the program and NBC News.
She has not been on the program over the past few weeks, prompting some fans to speculate why she was absent.
Her absence also came as the Today show has been undergoing significant changes in recent weeks.
Monday marked the first official day as lead co-anchor for Craig Melvin, who joined Savannah Guthrie behind the Today anchor desk.
Melvin succeeded Hoda Kotb, who announced her plan to depart last year and had her last day on Friday. Kotb will shift to another role at NBC News.
Kotb’s exit also shook up the fourth hour of Today, which she had co-hosted alongside Jenna Bush Hager. The program was renamed Today with Jenna & Friends for the time being, with rotating guest hosts until NBC could find a permanent co-host for Bush Hager.

Kathy Griffin is back on the singles scene after finalizing her divorce from Randy Bick. The 64-year-old comedian and the 45-year-old marketing executive settled their divorce on January 13 in Los Angeles County Superior Court.
As reported by multiple sources, the divorce was relatively straightforward thanks to a prenuptial agreement signed in December 2019. This agreement ensured that there was no community property to split and both parties waived spousal support.
Griffin had filed for divorce in December 2023, just days before their fourth wedding anniversary. According to TMZ, she cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.
"The divorce is what's kicking my ass mentally," Griffin shared in October, admitting she was "heartbroken" over the end of her nearly four-year marriage. Despite her heartbreak, she expressed no ill will toward Bick, saying, "I know it's cliché [but] I wish him the best. He just wasn't the right guy for me. But he'll be good for somebody else."
The couple's relationship began at a food festival in 2011 and, despite a brief separation, they reunited and tied the knot on New Year's Eve in 2019, officiated by Lily Tomlin. However, personal differences eventually drove them apart. An insider revealed to DailyMail.com that Bick had become a homebody, which led to their emotional growing apart.
Griffin struggled with the emotional toll of the divorce, expressing the need for support from close friends like Jane Fonda. She also channeled her feelings into her "My Life on the PTSD-List" stand-up tour, stating, "If anything can restore my broken heart, it's hearing the laughter from the audiences all over America and Canada."
Despite the challenges, Griffin remains optimistic and open to what the future holds. Reflecting on a saying by the late Joan Rivers, she remarked that difficult times can enhance one's humor. With resilience and her characteristic sense of humor, Griffin continues to navigate life post-divorce, focusing on her career and personal well-being.
As she succinctly put it, "I am open to darn near anything. Do you not know me? That's how I get in trouble."

Prison Drama Sing Sing to Screen in Over 1,000 Actual Prisons
The post Prison Drama Sing Sing to Screen in Over 1,000 Actual Prisons appeared first on Consequence.
As awards season continues to churn, this year’s movies are finding unique ways to get the word out. For the Colman Domingo-starring Sing Sing, A24 is taking an approach very true to the message of the prison-set drama: Not only will the film be re-released in over 500 theaters on January 17th, but additionally, almost one million incarcerated people in the United States will be able to watch the movie this weekend.
The film, according to The Hollywood Reporter, will screen in correctional facilities across 46 states, as part of a collaboration between A24, RTA, and the nonprofit Edovo.
Directed by Greg Kwedar and Clint Bentley and currently available on VOD, Sing Sing stars Domingo as John “Divine G” Whitfield, who leads a troupe of his fellow inmates as they attempt to stage Breakin’ the Mummy’s Code, an original play written by their director Brent Buell (played by Paul Raci). Aside from Domingo, the cast features many actors who were formerly incarcerated and participated in the non-profit program Rehabilitation Through the Arts (RTA), including supporting actor contender Clarence “Divine Eye” Maclin.
Said cast will be reuniting soon in New York for a special performance of Breakin’ the Mummy’s Code, which will take place at the New York Theater Workshop on February 3rd. J. Cameron-Smith (Succession) is hosting the closed event, which will include a Q&A with the cast and the real-life Brent Buell.
Sing Sing held its premiere inside the correctional facility that gave it its name back in June, and also screened for an incarcerated audience at the San Quentin Film Festival last October. In addition to numerous critics groups honors, Domingo and Maclin have both won Gotham Awards for their performances, and the film received multiple nominations at the upcoming Indie Spirits. Consequence also ranked it as one of the best films of 2024

Caitlin Clark's Alleged Stalker Says He's 'Guilty as Charged' in Court
The man that is accused of stalking Caitlin Clark appeared in court on Tuesday (Jan. 14) and proclaimed that he was “guilty as charged” before the proceedings even began.
Just two days after Michael Lewis was arrested in Indianapolis for allegedly sending Clark harassing and disturbing messages in December and January, the 55-year-old suspect appeared in court and yelled out loud that he was “guilty as charged” as he sat down.
Caitlin Clark's stalkers first words to the judge when he entered the courtroom: Guilty as charged
No surprise he’s insane 😭
The surprised judge then told him that saying that was unnecessary. "You have a right to remain silent, and I expect you to exercise that, OK? This is just telling you what the charges are," he can be heard saying.
Lewis apparently didn’t care. He even urged the judge to “throw me the booky.” He also complained about his medication afterward.
Lewis eventually received a public defender and entered his official plea as “not guilty.” He’s currently facing a felony charge for stalking — and is accused of “conduct involving repeated or continuing harassment of Clark that would cause a reasonable person to feel terrorized” — that could potentially net him six years behind bars and an order to stay away from Clark. Charges that were reportedly read in court described that Lewis “terrorized, frightened, or threatened” Clark while also causing a "reasonable fear of sexual battery.”
Lewis also signed court orders that require him to not be near the Indiana Fever’s home arena, Gainbridge Fieldhouse, and to not have any contact with Clark at all. Additionally, he must also stay away from Hinkle Fieldhouse where Clark’s boyfriend, Conor McCaffery, is employed as the assistant basketball coach for Butler University.
His bail is currently set at $50,000 and he will appear before a judge again in March. If he pays the bond, he’ll have to stay in Indiana and wear a GPS monitor — but Lewis said in court that, “I don’t want bond, bail, whatever. I’m here. I’m staying.”

O’Shea Jackson Says He Has to 'Mentally Work Harder' As Ice Cube's Son
It took more than being Ice Cube's son for O'Shea Jackson Jr. to become an actor.
The Den of Thieves 2: Pantera star was on radio program Sway's Universe on Monday (January 13), when he explained why having a famous father didn't result in him being favored as an actor. The 33-year-old began his career by portraying Cube in the 2015 biopic, Straight Outta Compton.
"There's already a concept and an ideology of what type of person I'm going to be before people even meet me because of how they might have views of my father," Jackson told Sway.
Jackson added that people believe that he's "entitled" or "not ready to work" before meeting him. "But I come from a family that prides themselves on being ready to work," he added. "I mean, as a second-generation in any sense or form, you mentally work harder, for sure."
"You are given blessings that put you in positions that people don't get at certain points the same way you did. But it is a mental battle that you have to have," Jackson admitted
Comparing his journey to his father's, Jackson shared that he doesn't have an "internal battle" of wanting to escape his lifestyle. But in his sophomore year of college, he was given the nudge by Cube to portray him in Straight Outta Compton, which resulted in him dropping out.
When Cube suggested to director F. Gary Gray that Jackson play him, the filmmaker initially thought it was "a joke."
"He didn't tell me during that 'cause [my father] knew that would have just pissed me off," Jackson recalled. "But it's just little things that I had to use to build my fire. I left school, so it took me two years to get the part for Straight Out of Compton."
After pressure from his college friends, who'd already graduated, and family members who were depending on him, Straight Outta Compton became a success, although Jackson wouldn't be offered a role for another year.
Backlash over being cast as Cube led to claims of nepotism online, prompting Jackson to meet with his team about starring in films from different genres, such as the action-adventure Godzilla: King of the Monsters and the black comedy Ingrid Goes West.
"So it was just constantly showing versatility so they couldn't put me in the box," Jackson said.
Jackson expressed a similar sentiment in an interview with Complex's Jacob Kramer last September. "When I did my first film, many tried to downplay my accomplishments by saying it was easy because I played my father," he said at the time. "So I had a meeting with my team to make sure every role was different from the last. It has led me to an amazing life so far. And it has also allowed me to sharpen my acting blade."

Denzel Washington is still not a BAFTA nominee after ‘Gladiator II’ snub
Another year, another BAFTA snub for Denzel Washington.
The two-time Oscar winner has never been nominated by the British Academy and was snubbed again on Wednesday, missing out on a nomination in Best Supporting Actor for Gladiator II. The nominees were Yura Borisov (Anora), Kieran Culkin (A Real Pain), Clarence Maclin (Sing Sing), Edward Norton (A Complete Unknown), Guy Pearce (The Brutalist), and Jeremy Strong (The Apprentice).
Washington’s shutout at BAFTA has been one of the most curious and high-profile slights in the group’s history. Over his nearly 50-year career, the actor has accrued nine acting Oscar nominations, winning Best Supporting Actor for 1989’s Glory and Best Actor for 2001’s Training Day, the latter of which made him the second Black man to prevail in lead. His first Oscar bid was for his supporting turn in Cry Freedom (1987), and his other nominations were in lead for Malcolm X (1992), The Hurricane (2001), Flight (2012), Fences (2016), Roman J. Israel, Esq. (2017), and The Tragedy of Macbeth (2021). He is the most-nominated Black performer in Oscar history and owns a 10th nomination as a producer on Best Picture nominee Fences.
Some of the screen legend’s BAFTA snubs for his Oscar-nominated performances could be chalked up to release dates as several films, including Glory, Malcolm X, and The Hurricane, missed the eligibility period and had to compete the following year. This has affected other Oscar nominees and winners, like Halle Berry (Monster’s Ball) and Charlize Theron (Monster), both of whom were nominated at BAFTA the year after their Oscar victories. Other times, BAFTA just overlooked Washington while nominating other aspects of his films. Cry Freedom received seven BAFTA bids, including Best Picture, Best Director for Richard Attenborough, and Best Supporting Actor for John Thaw, and won Best Sound. Fences got just one nomination, for Viola Davis, who won Best Supporting Actress during her Oscar season sweep. The Tragedy of Macbeth was nominated for cinematography.
Many thought Washington would break his duck three years ago with Macbeth — he was third in the odds and was doing Shakespeare after all. After coming under fire for its lack of diversity, BAFTA implemented a new voting system four years ago that involved jury intervention in the acting and directing categories, which were also expanded to fields of six. At the time, the top two vote-getters in the first round of voting by the acting branch were automatic acting nominees, while a jury filled in the remaining four slots from the longlist. Washington was snubbed in favor of Adeel Akhtar (Ali & Ava), Mahershala Ali (Swan Song), Benedict Cumberbatch (The Power of the Dog), Leonardo DiCaprio (Don’t Look Up), Stephen Graham (Boiling Point), and Will Smith (King Richard). Smith triumphed, becoming the category’s fourth Black winner.
The juries were eliminated this year, so all acting nominees were determined by the acting branch from the longlist of 10 per category, which Washington made. He was in sixth place in the supporting actor odds for his scene-stealing turn as Macrinus in the Gladiator sequel. He’d also been having one of his best precursor runs in years, having won two critics awards and received his maiden London Film Critics Circle nomination, along with a Golden Globe bid.
But that momentum hit a major speed bump last Wednesday when he was was surprisingly snubbed by the Screen Actors Guild Awards, where a beloved icon like him usually thrives. He won SAG for Fences, denying Casey Affleck a perfect sweep for Manchester of the Sea, and was nominated for little-seen fare like Roman J. Israel, Esq. Since the SAG Awards were established in 1995, Washington, who is in fifth place in the Oscar odds, has always been shortlisted by the guild en route to an Oscar nomination. He has obviously never needed BAFTA to collect an Oscar nomination, but now missing both SAG and BAFTA is ominous.

Lil TJay and Cardi B Put Offset on Blast Over Finances and Family Drama
Offset found himself in the hot seat this week as Lil TJay and his estranged wife, Cardi B, publicly called him out over money and personal grievances.
Last week, Lil TJay took to social media to accuse the Migos rapper of owing him $10,000 and implied that Offset might be struggling with a gambling addiction. While Offset has yet to respond to these allegations directly, the drama has fueled speculation among fans and industry insiders.
Things escalated further today when Cardi B aired their family issues online, accusing Offset of neglecting their children during the holiday season. According to a now-viral post, Cardi alleged that Offset didn’t buy Christmas gifts for their kids and accused him and his mother of stealing from her. The tweet, shared widely, included a link to a screenshot of her claims, sparking heated debates on social media.
Cardi’s comments have added another layer to the ongoing tensions in her and Offset’s public relationship, which has seen its ups and downs. Fans of the WAP rapper are rallying behind her, while others are waiting to see if Offset will address the allegations.
Offset has remained silent on both fronts, leaving many to wonder how he’ll respond to the accusations from Lil TJay and Cardi B. With the drama unfolding so publicly, it’s clear the spotlight on Offset isn’t dimming anytime soon.

The outlet cited an insider source to claim that Lopez was “still laser focused” on Affleck, so Costner had “his work cut out for him,” but that didn’t apparently mean it was “an impossible situation.” The source explained that Costner had many qualities that Lopez would be looking for in a relationship with after Affleck. They added, “He’s incredibly successful and he’s someone that commands a huge amount of respect in the industry and among all their peers. Having him on her arm would make a big statement – and it doesn’t hurt that Ben has always spoken very highly of Kevin.”
The source reportedly told Closer Online UK that Lopez was drawn to Costner’s passion for making movies and music. The source elaborated, “So they actually have a lot in common and a lot of things to talk about.” Costner is the founder and frontman of the country rock band Kevin Costner & Modern West.
Costner turns 70 this January, whereas Lopez is 55. The insider source claimed that Costner had been showering Lopez with praises about her work ethic and her career as an actor. They noted that Lopez wasn’t “ready to rush into anything right now but she does seem excited about the potential.” The source stated, “Even if they wind up just connecting as friends, it’s still a massive ego boost to have him falling all over her like this.”
11-Year-Old Black Girl Handcuffed in Case of Mistaken Identity by Syracuse Deputies
The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that two deputies stopped the young girl on the street, claiming she matched the description of a suspect involved in a car theft earlier that day.
The deputies stated the suspect was a girl wearing a pink coat and camouflage-style pants, a description they believed fit the detained girl. Cell phone footage, posted online by the girl’s mother, shows the child standing in the snow, visibly shaken, as deputies question her and insist she resembles the person they were looking for.
After being held for over six minutes, deputies ultimately determined the young girl was not the suspect and released her, but not before an emotional exchange that sparked outrage in the community.
The incident was captured on two cell phone videos, reportedly filmed by a friend of the detained girl. In the video, the girl and her friends are heard telling deputies they had been playing in the snow after school and had no involvement in any crime. They also explained that the 11-year-old could not have stolen a car because she had just returned from a school field trip earlier that day.
Despite their pleas, one of the deputies insisted that the detained girl fit the description. At one point, the deputy even showed a dashcam photo of the actual suspect and accused the girl of lying about her identity.
“You’re going to tell me this isn’t you?” the deputy asked, holding the photo. However, the girl’s friends quickly pointed out key differences, such as the shoes and skin tone of the girl in the photo compared to their friend.
Even with these clear differences, another deputy arrived on the scene and falsely identified the girl as the suspect. The 11-year-old began crying as the officers prepared to take her to a police cruiser, but after further review, the deputies realized she was not the person they were looking for.
The video ends with the girl’s friends hugging her as she cries, visibly shaken by the encounter. The children, understandably upset, called the incident unfair and pointed out the racial dynamics at play.
Thomas Newton, a spokesperson for the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office, declined to comment on the incident, stating a formal press release would be issued later.
