"The Real Housewives of Potomac" star Karen Huger, long revered as the "Grand Dame" of the series, has sought help in rehab following her DUI conviction in December 2024. The announcement was made by her representative, Ryan Tresdale, on Thursday, the same day Bravo released the reunion seating chart where Huger's absence raised eyebrows among fans.
"Karen made the important decision to enter a private recovery program, so [she] was unable to attend the reunion taping today," Tresdale told the Daily Dish. "We stand behind Karen as she embarks on this meaningful journey and are proud of her for taking such a significant step forward in her personal growth."
Huger's decision came just weeks after her conviction on five charges, including DUI and driving while intoxicated, stemming from a high-speed crash in March 2024 in Potomac, Maryland. The crash involved Huger's Maserati impacting multiple street signs and a pole, drawing significant media attention and culminating in a contentious trial.
The police body cam footage revealed Huger's intoxicated state, where she struggled to stand and slurred her words, admitting to officers, "I'm drunk." Her bizarre behavior continued inside the police station, where she made several strange remarks, including, "I'm Thomas Jefferson's concubine."
Tresdale reiterated the support for Huger, stating that the choice to enter a recovery program was fully backed by her team and family. Her attorney, A. Scott Bolden, also mentioned plans to appeal the verdict, despite expressing respect for the jury's decision.
Huger's sentencing is scheduled for January 29, and she faces up to two years in prison.
Executive Producer Andy Cohen commented on the situation, describing it as "very sad" and something he had yet to fully process. The Real Housewives universe is no stranger to drama, but Huger's recent struggles have undeniably cast a somber tone over what is usually a glittering franchise.
This unfolding chapter in Karen Huger's life underscores the complicated realities faced by reality TV stars beyond the screen and highlights the importance of personal accountability and growth.

#MusicNews: Smokey Robinson Readies The ‘Legacy Tour’ To Celebrate The 50th Anniversary Of His 1975 Album ‘A Quiet Storm’
Age ain’t nothing but a number for Smokey Robinson. At 84 years young, he is still one of the hardest-working men in soul business. He has enjoyed an illustrious seven-decade career – from his Motown days to today – and he’s nowhere near retirement. Smokey released his latest album Gasms in May 2023 closely followed by a concert tour to promote it, and now Smokey has a new tour beginning in February that will take him across North America and to the UK.
Entitled the Legacy Tour, Robinson plans to celebrate the 50th anniversary of his third solo album A Quiet Storm on this outing. The album was released in March 1975, and featured the singles “Baby That’s Backatcha,” “The Agony And The Ecstasy” and “Quiet Storm.” The iconic title cut inspired disc jockey Melvin Lindsey of Washington, D.C.’s WHUR-FM to create the R&B slow jam-heavy Quiet Storm radio format in 1976, which still exists to this day on stations around the world.
Smokey Robinson’s legacy is legendary, and he’ll bring his Legacy Tour to 13 cities on this 16-date tour, which will encompass regular shows, a mini-residency and festival performance. He’ll start his journey on February 8th in Rancho Mirage, California before moving on to San Antonio, Atlantic City, three nights at The Venetian in Las Vegas and the UK’s Love Supreme Festival 2025. The tour will end on July 11th with a final concert in London.
“I’m excited and can’t wait to see you at one of my shows this year,” Smokey happily shared on Instagram with the tour flyer shown below. “We will celebrate the 50th anniversary of my album [A] Quiet Storm, along with a trip down memory lane with some of my classic hits from Motown and even some new music I’ve been working on.”
Uncle Smokey already had us with his plan to commemorate 50 years of A Quiet Storm on the Legacy Tour, but knowing that he’ll incorporate more classics from his catalog and preview new music has us completely sold. If you’re as ready to buy tickets to see Smokey Robinson on tour as we are, visit the Concerts page on his website to purchase.

#HipHopNews: Snoop Dogg Hailed a ‘True Hero’ for ‘Generous’ Response to LA Wildfires
Fans are heaping praise on Snoop Dogg after learning about his response to the wildfires that began causing chaos in Los Angeles earlier this week.
The “Drop It Like It’s Hot” rapper revealed in a Thursday, Jan. 9, post on Instagram that Snoop Dogg’s Clothing, his clothing store in Inglewood, Calif., is providing clothes to people impacted by the wildfires.
“We are devastated and send our condolences to those who have been affected by these fires 💙💙💙🙏🏾,” his shop wrote to caption the Thursday post. “Please stop by and pick up some clothing that we have available to get you and your family through these trying times free of charge. ID/address requested.”
The store said it would be open through 7 p.m. local time on Friday, Jan. 10, to assist wildfire survivors. Clothing was available for both adults and kids, the post added.
In addition to Snoop Dogg’s own clothing store, the business flagged a few other locations nearby that were “temporarily accepting and distributing donations” as part of ongoing efforts to help people impacted by the fires.
“Thank you, @snoopdogg for your generous support,” one fan applauded the 16-time Grammy nominee.
“You are a true hero Snoop 🙏❤️,” another fan commented as a third agreed, calling the 53-year-old rapper “our super hero 🦸🏾 🙌🏼♥️♥️♥️.”
Thousands of people were forced to evacuate this week as multiple blazes popped up around Los Angeles County. Many residents—including several celebrities—later learned that they had lost their homes. While the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire) reported that more than 90 wildfires had ignited across the state in the first 10 days of 2025, there were two large fires in particular that continued plaguing the Los Angeles area Friday evening.
The Palisades Fire, which tore through Los Angeles’ Pacific Palisades neighborhood after igniting on Tuesday, Jan. 7, had burned more than 21,300 acres and was 8 percent contained as of 5:30 p.m. local time on Friday, according to Cal Fire. Nearby in Altadena, the Eaton Fire also began on Tuesday and burned more than 13,600 acres with 3 percent containment achieved shortly after 4 p.m. on Friday, the state agency reported.

Beyoncé’s BeyGOOD Donates $2.5M To LA Fire Relief Funds
Beyoncé‘s BeyGOOD has donated $2.5 million to those impacted by the Los Angeles fires. On Sunday (Jan. 12), the official Instagram account for the foundation announced their efforts, explaining what the money would be used for.
“Los Angeles we stand with you,” the caption read. “BeyGOOD is taking action by announcing the LA Fire Relief Fund with a donation of 2.5 million dollars. The fund is earmarked to aid families in the Altadena/Pasadena area who lost their homes, and to churches and community centers to address the immediate needs of those affected by the wildfires.”
BeyGOOD was first established in 2013, the mission statement for the foundation states that it “serves people and develop impactful partnership programs through organizations assisting marginalized people and communities,” with their intention to change the narrative “because we can all BeyGOOD.”
Throughout its history, BeyGOOD has given back to Haiti in 2015 during its continued efforts and aid to those affected by the devastating 2015 earthquakes, donated $82K in a continued effort to “combat” the Flint Water Crisis in 2016, and various other efforts over the past decade.
According to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, the Los Angeles wildfires began as a brush fire in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood at approximately 10:30 AM on Tuesday (Jan. 7). NBC reports that almost 180,000 people were initially ordered to evacuate their premises after the devastating spread of the Eaton, Hurst, and Lidia fires in Los Angeles County. As of Sunday (Jan. 12), 24 people have died from the fires, per The Los Angeles Times.

On a quiet weekend in movie theaters, while much of Hollywood’s attention was on the wildfires that continue to rage in Los Angeles, Lionsgate’s “Den of Thieves 2: Pantera” debuted atop the box office with $15.5 million, according to studio estimates Sunday.
Mid-January is often a slow moviegoing period, and that was slightly exacerbated by the closures of about 10 theaters in Los Angeles, the country’s top box-office market.
A sequel to the Gerard Butler 2018 heist thriller, “Den of Thieves 2” performed similarly to the original. The first installment, released by STX, opened with $15.2 million seven years ago. O’Shea Jackson Jr. co-stars in the sequel, which debuted in 3,008 North American theaters.
Butler's films are becoming something of a regular feature in January. He also starred in “Plane,” which managed $32.1 million after launching on Jan. 13 in 2023.
“Den of Thieves 2,” made for about $40 million, was a bit more costly to make. Audiences liked it well enough, giving it a “B+” CinemaScore. Reviews (58% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes) weren’t particularly good. But it counted as Lionsgate’s first No.1 opening since “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” in November 2023.

Also entering wide release over the weekend was the Robbie Williams movie “Better Man,” one of the more audacious spins on the music biopic in recent years. Rather than going the more tradition routes of Elton John (“Rocketman”) or Elvis Presley (“Elvis”), the British popstar is portrayed by a CGI chimpanzee in Michael Gracey’s film.
The Paramount Pictures release, produced for $110 million and acquired by Paramount for $25 million, didn’t catch on much better than Williams’ previous forays into the United States. It tanked, with $1.1 million in ticket sales from 1,291 locations. Gracey’s previous feature, 2017’s “The Greatest Showman” ($459 million worldwide), fared far better in theaters. Reviews, however, have been very good for “Better Man.”
It was bested by “The Last Showgirl,” the Las Vegas drama starring Pamela Anderson. The Roadside Attractions release expanded to 870 theaters and collected $1.5 million.
Also outdoing “Better Man” was Brady Corbet’s “The Brutalist.” Coming off winning best drama at the Golden Globes, the A24 postwar epic grossed a hefty $1.4 million from just 68 locations. It expands wider in the coming weeks.
The weekend's lion share of business went to holiday holdovers, including “Mufasa: The Lion King,” “Sonic the Hedgehog 3,” “Nosferatu” and “Moana 2.”
In its fourth week of release, Barry Jenkins “Mufasa” continued to do well, adding $13.2 million to bring its total to $539.7 million worldwide. Also on its fourth weekend, “Sonic the Hedgehog 3” padded its $384.8 million global total with $11 million. Robert Eggers’ “Nosferatu,” the surprise hit of the Christmas period, collected $6.8 million in ticket sales, bringing the vampire tale to $81.1 million domestically.
The Walt Disney Co.’s “Moana 2,” in its seventh week of release, added $6.5 million to bring its global tally to $989.8 million. In the coming days, it will become the third Disney film released in 2024 to notch $1 billion, joining “Inside Out 2” and “Deadpool and Wolverine.”
Final domestic figures will be released Monday. Estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at U.S. and Canadian theaters, according to Comscore:
1. “Den of Thieves 2: Pantera,” $15.5 million.
2. “Mufasa: The Lion King,” $13.2 million.
3. “Sonic the Hedgehog 3,” $11 million.
4. “Nosferatu,” $6.8 million.
5. “Moana 2,” $6.5 million.
6. “A Complete Unknown,” $5 million.
7. “Wicked,” $5 million.
8. “Babygirl,” $3.1 million.
9. “Game Changer,” $1.9 million.
10. “The Last Showgirl,” $1.5 million.

Tyler Perry Slams Insurance Companies For Canceling Policies During California Wildfire Crisis
Tyler Perry is calling out insurance companies for attempting to drop clients amid the devastating California wildfires.
The filmmaker voiced his frustrations on Instagram, writing: “Does anyone else find it appalling that insurance companies can take billions of dollars from communities for years and then, all of a sudden, be allowed to cancel millions of policies for the very people they became rich off of? People who have paid premiums all their lives are left with nothing because of pure greed.”
Tyler also expressed his well wishes to those affected by the fires, noting that he’s working on steps he can take to help.
According to a recent update from NBC News, the fires have left at least 16 people de*d and have swept through 37,000 acres, destroying entire communities and over 12,000 structures.
A report from NBC stated that many private insurers, such as State Farm, have been scaling back coverage in high-risk areas. State Farm specifically dropped 1,600 policies in Pacific Palisades this July, according to the California Department of Insurance. A previous analysis also revealed the company had canceled over 2,000 policies in other Los Angeles neighborhoods, including Brentwood, Calabasas, and Hidden Hills.
While State Farm emphasized its commitment to customer safety and support during the fires, its decision reflects a growing trend among insurers like Allstate and Farmers Insurance, which have reduced coverage or halted new policies in wildfire-prone regions. This shift has left many homeowners with limited options, including the state-mandated California FAIR Plan, which offers basic fire insurance for properties in high-risk zones.

Mary J. Blige Reportedly Spotted Getting Cozy w/ Off-Duty Bodyguard While On Vacation
Over the weekend Mary J. Blige was spotted vacationing in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, looking stunning in a black-and-white two-piece, with her off-duty bodyguard in red swim trunks, relaxing beside her.

Macy Gray Storms Off Stage After Being Eliminated on UK’s ‘The Masked Singer’
*Macy Gray stormed off the stage after the judges of the UK version of “The Masked Singer” decided not to save her during the sing-off.
The judges instead chose fellow contestant Bear, leaving the audience shocked. After the broadcast, host Joel Dommett opened up about the incident, stating that Gray’s reaction was because she felt “blindsided” by her early elimination, Too Fab reports.
Judge Maya Jama shared a clip of the moment Gray, performing as Toad in the Hole, walked off stage, captioning it, “Me at any minor inconvenience.”
After the broadcast, Dommett opened up to The Daily Mail about what happened. “This is why The Masked Singer is so good, it doesn’t matter if you’re a good singer or if you’re not, the show doesn’t sit in either camp,” he said.
“The case with Macy is she is a legend, she has a recognizable voice and she might as well go because we all know it is her, and they put the other person through because we still don’t know who they are,” the host added.
Gray, who has previously appeared on both the US and Australian versions of “The Masked Singer,” was eliminated in the third week of the new UK competition. As for storming off the set, Dommett said, “You can’t be vexed when you’re dressed as a toad. In my professional career — I love Macy, she is incredible, great voice —- but I have never witnessed anything more funny than a 6ft toad storming off,” he told The Daily Mail. “It’s the funniest thing I’ve ever seen in my life.”

Gray felt “totally blindsided” by her early elimination, so she stormed off the stage, The Sun reports. Although the singer returned for her unmasking, the process behind the scenes to convince her to do so took an hour.
Many social media users criticized Macy for her messy reaction. One person wrote on X: “The #macygray reveal was so awkward! She was seething! I mean it was so uncomfortable to watch,” user @@hayleybethyoung wrote. “It was a crap reason to vote her off… yeah, we all knew it was her… but it’s Macy Gray (she CAN sing) and so much better than loads of others.”

On Sunday, Geragos sent a letter to American Transit’s lawyers, threating to countersue for $5 million if the company did not withdraw its case and issue an apology.
Sunny — who is also an attorney — said in her statement that the $5 million figure is “an amount that is likely to increase as the reputational damage that American Transit has intentionally caused is difficult to quantify at this time.”
The ABC host also accused the insurer of using her celebrity status on the daytime talk show to “start a disgusting media smear campaign against my husband, which included me and our children.”
“American Transit is harassing me and my family in a frantic attempt to not pay its bills. Our family will not be intimidated and harassed. We remain unbowed,” she said in the statement.
Jimmy Butler Embroiled In Heated Financial Battle With Mother Of His 3 Children
NBA star Jimmy Butler has found himself in a different kind of court battle. Daily Mail reported on Friday (Jan. 10) that Butler, is 35, has entered into a financial battle with Kaitlin Nowak, his former flame and mother of his three children, over child support.
Legal papers obtained by the outlet state that Butler is currently paying Nowak $55,000 a month in child support. Butler previously came to a partial agreement with Nowak on their three children in December 2023, stating that the athlete would temporarily pay for a nanny. Now, Nowak is asking for an additional $10,000 per month in support for a nanny, which has Butler scratching his head. The child support was sealed and confidential until the Miami Heat player opted for a court hearing to challenge the nanny motion.
“It must be pointed out that the Father and Mother were never married,” the court filing reads. “Mother is not entitled to live as if she is married to a National Basketball Association (NBA) player… Mother is unemployed and refuses to seek employment. With one child in preschool and Father exercising equal timesharing with the older children, there is no legitimate reason for Mother to insist both on a nanny and that Father pay for that nanny.”
“The parties have attended mediation in an effort to resolve all outstanding issues, but the mother refuses to waive her demands that the father pay for the nanny on top of the tremendous amount of child support he is paying.”
Jimmy Butler and Kaitlin Nowak began their relationship in 2019. From there, the two welcomed three children into the world: Rylee was born in October 2019, Bryan was born in 2022, and then 2023 saw the birth of their third child, Kian.
Kaitlin Nowak has since responded to the news in a roundabout way. As the news spread across social media, there have been criticisms of both Butler and Nowak, with Kaitlin’s most recent post on Instagram becoming a hotspot for netizens decrying the woman’s child support requests. Some accounts dragged the woman for asking more money while “flying on private jets,” while other posts insisted that Butler was to blame for picking someone who seemingly saw him as a meal ticket.
Nowak addressed the comments with a snarky post to her IG Stories, stating, “Despite the really thought-provoking discussion taking place in my comments, let’s move that to literally any photo other than the ones with our children in them. Better yet, you can join the men in my DMs expressing their grievances. Keep up the great work, guys; loving the energy!”
Jimmy Butler has yet to acknowledge or address the news publicly.
