Ladies and Gentleman Miss Grace Jones has Arrived!
The “original” Queen of Shock—ICON GRACE JONES is the subject of a new documentary that will be arriving in theaters on Friday, April 13 titled Grace Jones: Bloodlight and Bami.
Larger than life, wild, scary and androgynous – Miss Grace Jones plays all these parts. Yet here we also discover her as a lover, daughter, mother, sister and even grandmother, as she submits herself to our gaze and allows us to understand what constitutes her mask. The stage is where her most extreme embodiments are realized and her theatrical imagination lets loose: this is where the musical of her life is played out.
The film includes Grace’s unique performances singing iconic hits such as “Slave To The Rhythm,” “Pull Up To The Bumper,” as well as the more recent autobiographical tracks “Williams’ Bloods” and “Hurricane.” These personal songs also link to Grace’s family life, as the film takes us on a holiday road trip across Jamaica, where her family roots and the story of her traumatic childhood are uncovered.
In Jamaican patois, ‘Bloodlight’ is the red light that illuminates when an artist is recording and ‘Bami’ means bread, the substance of daily life. Grace Jones: Bloodlight and Bami weaves together the layers of Grace Jones’ public and private life, as she moves effortlessly between different facets: she is gypsy, artist and partying hedonist, warm and funny but also a fierce and tenacious businesswoman.
The performance continues to move thematically though the film, with “Love Is The Drug” acting like an aria, bringing the film to its final and most touching scenes. This is a Grace we have not seen before, someone who reminds us of what it is to dare to be truly alive.

“The Hunger Games” Stars Cover Entertainment Weekly Magazine!
While the end of the “Hunger Games” franchise is bittersweet, fans are getting pumped for the November 20th release of “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2.”
To that end, Entertainment Weekly is featuring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth on the latest cover, and Lionsgate just released a handful of new still images from the forthcoming flick.
Of the way he’s greeted in public, Hutcherson shares, “When you see the tons of people screaming and going crazy… I have the same problem that Peeta does of distinguishing reality from not reality. So for me, that’s not real. It seems so strange.” Lawrence adds, “It’s like you’re an avatar of yourself,” and Liam chimes in, “You get back in to the car after a premiere and it’s dead silent and you’re like… ahhhh.”
TRUE or FALSE? A Real-Life BEEF At EMPIRE? Taraji P. Henson & Terrence Howard ALLEGEDLY BEEFING On the Set of "Empire" ?!
While Taraji P. Henson famously lobbied Lee Daniels to hire Terrence for the lead role on "Empire," one insider claims the two are not getting along.
The source opened up to In Touch magazine, revealing Taraji and Terrence constantly bicker back and forth, and it makes everyone on set uncomfortable. The relationship has become sour, allegedly. According to the source:
“It’s gotten so bad that Taraji can’t be on set for more than 30 seconds without staring daggers at him,” the source said. She’s irritated by the pompous, bigheaded braggart that Terrence has become.”
While Taraji and Terrence have been close friends since their Hustle & Flow days, insiders say the success of the show might be getting the best of Terrence. And ya'll know Terrence has anger issues and doesn't do well around powerful women!
“In the beginning, Taraji was the key supporter and apologist for his behavior. But as his arrogance increased, she began to get annoyed."
Within all this rumor and speculation, it's also being alleged that "Empire" producers think tension between Taraji and Terrence will “prompt some amazing, volatile scenes between them. The animosity is working to the show’s advantage.” #Messy
Meanwhile, Taraji’s rep shot down any reports that she and Terrence are beefing. In fact, the rep says the two “are the best of friends and professional colleagues … always."
Do we believe it? Or are rumors like this expected to be concocted when a hit show has an ensemble cast? Whatever the case may be the execs at FOX still seem pleased with how the show is going.
In R.H.o.A News: Kim Field speaks on how it’s like being an Atlanta Housewife!
Lil Tootie, from ‘Facts of Life’ or Regine Hunter from ‘living Single’ but she’s just Kim Fields and she has made the foray into the reality world by becoming a cast member of Bravo's #1 rated Housewives franchise, The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Fields will be joining the cast of: Kandi Burruss, Cynthia Bailey, Kenya Moore, Phaedra Parks and Porsha Williams. Noticeably missing from the lineup is Nene Leakes who announced that she would not be coming back to the reality show that turned her into a celebrity.
Fields is most recognized as roller-skating Tootie from the 1970's mega-hit show, Facts of Life and as the super, sassy Regine Hunter from the 1990's hit Living Single. Fields has been in front of the camera since she was 7 years old and continues to hone her craft as an actor. Her most recent acting credits are a Hallmark TV movie, For Better or for Worse, and motion picture, What to Expect when you are Expecting, starring Cameron Diaz. She has also been very busy behind the scenes as a sought after director and producer. She has directed successful televisions shows on TBS, BET and TVOne. Fields said, "I'm an actor, director, producer, entrepreneur, mom and wife."
It's because of Field's celebrated history as a "legit" actor and director that many have questioned her choice to join a sometimes tasteless, oftentimes embarrassing, generally degrading and always controversial reality show like the The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Fields said, "When there were rumors about me joining the The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast I was intrigued by how much chatter there was. I was humbled by how many fans were protective of me. Not the brand, but of me."
In an interview with Tanya Young Williams for The Huffington Post, she gave a very candid and humorous Kim Fields opens up about her entertainment career, her decision to join The Real Housewives of Atlanta, The Real Housewives of Atlanta drama, and her family.
Tanya: Over the past few years you have taken on more directing jobs than acting. Are you still passionate about acting?
Acting is my first love. There are still so many characters inside of me that are waiting to come out.
You are married and have two children. How do you balance your career and family?
Yes, my husband's name is Christopher Morgan and we met in Atlanta. My two children are Sebastian and Quincy. I am 46 with a two year old and an eight year old. You'd think I would be a size two running after my kids like a do. There is no nanny. We have the occasional sitter. If my work causes me to be gone more than 2 days, the kids come with me. My husband and I are involved in school activities. Again this year, I am the Chair of the Black History Month events. The kids have lots of extracurricular activities too. We are 1000 percent hands on. We just make it work.
What made you decide to sign on to The Real Housewives of Atlanta?
I've been asked for years to do a reality show. One of my criteria is that I would be given the opportunity to show a strong family unit. When they came to me to do the show, they said, "We love you. We love your light and we love your opinions and you can give them in your way." So far they have been great in letting me be me.
In order to be a part of the Housewives of Atlanta cast, the ladies live in the Atlanta area. What brought you to Atlanta from California?
There has been a tremendous growth in the entertainment industry throughout Atlanta. There are many opportunities in film, television and theatre. I was offered an opportunity to direct Tyler Perry's Meet the Browns. It was a time when I was thinking about leaving California anyway so it was a great fit.
How has your experience been during taping The Real Housewives of Atlanta?
Overall, its been an quite the adventure. Let me just say, it's been "different". But at this stage of my life I welcome - "different". This experience has awakened many creative voices in me. I love that I get to be me and not play a character. It has been an eye-opening experience to say the least.
How has it been working with the ladies in the cast?
For 14 years I was in an ensemble cast filled with women. I can surely navigate my way through this. Throughout the process, I've gleaned a little something from each lady. A pinch of each of them is in me. Kenya is very girly, ultra famine - in terms of her exterior. I say, yeah, I can do more of that. Kandi is straight forward - all the time. I'm a bit more diplomatic - sometimes to a fault. Yet I say, how can I use some of her candid style. Going out with ladies and having ladies night out has been very healthy for me. I give and give and sometimes I can't find me. I'm sure many moms and wives go down that same rabbit hole. I realized that I hadn't really had "me" time since 1998. Living Single was ending and I was going through a divorce, contemplating a move from Los Angeles, so I thought that since I was by myself I was having "me" time. But my sister said, "healing time" is not "me time". I realize that I was healing from a lot of pain and my faith was shaken. So I was just going through the motions of being happy. Hanging with the ladies helps me see that "me time" doesn't mean I'm a bad mom or wife. If fact, it recharges my battery to be a better mom and wife.
Are you prepared to deal with the attacking and controversial conversations that are the breeding grounds for high drama on all of the reality shows?
I don't have the brain space to worry about, or strategize what I'm going to say in an upcoming conversation. I'm too busy worrying if I've missed my son's appointment, making sure by boobs aren't hanging to low, or what I will I feed my family for dinner. I don't have time to prepare for pettiness. What you see is what you get. My faith keeps me grounded. My faith causes me to hold myself to a higher standard. It takes a lot for me to reach my tipping point. Also, I don't take for granted the love and respect the public has for me. They've invited me into their living rooms for many years. They've experienced the highs and lows of my life. They don't view me as a stranger, they see me as their sister, niece or cousin and so, I will always be the Kim they know and respect.
Well just hang on and see how she will fair in the new season of R.H.o.A when it premieres on Sunday, November 8 at 8/7c.

Only Grace! Grace Jones Flashes Full Boobs During Book Signing
The legendary model hit the red carpet for her I’ll Never Write My Memoirs book signing on Thursday night in New York and spiced things up when she not only showed up two horse late, but when she flashed everyone in the room. Photographers had a field day and of course, the photos hit social media in a blink of a nipple eye.
The 67-year-old’s body, however, looked amazing. What’s ironic about this entire situation is that Jones’ flash session was during the promotion for her book where she calls out Rihanna, Kanye West, Beyonce, Miley Cyrus and other world renown pop stars for being “copycats” and following trends.
“Trends come along and people say, ‘Follow that trend’. There’s a lot of that around at the moment: ‘Be like Sasha Fierce. Be like Miley Cyrus. Be like Rihanna. Be like Lady Gaga. Be like Rita Ora and Si. Be like Madonna.’ I cannot be like them – except to the extent that they are already being like me,” she wrote.
Jones continued, “I have been so copied by those people who have made fortunes that people assume I am that rich. But I did things for the excitement, the dare, the fact that it was new, not for the money, and too many times I was the first, not the beneficiary.”
Showing off nipples in 2015 isn’t exactly what we would call out the box, but it is very … Grace.
The Festival of Praise Fall Tour 2015 is Coming to a City Near You
The biggest Gospel tour of the year – The Festival of Praise International Tour – is coming to a city near you.
Festival of Praise, a 50-city concert tour features some of the best names in Gospel music including multiple GRAMMY®, Dove and Stellar Award-winning recording artists Fred Hammond, Donnie McClurkin, Kim Burrell, with Hezekiah Walker (in concert 9/30-10/31) and Israel Houghton (in concert 11/1-11/29). The tour also features Isaac Carree, Jessica Reedy and Zacardi Cortez.
Marcus Wiley of the “Yolanda Adams Morning Show” will be this year’s festival host. The national tour kicks-off at Fallbrook Church in Houston, TX today, September 30, and runs through November 29. The Festival of Praise International Tour will kick off in the first quarter of 2016.
Festival of Praise Tour 2015 will be held at arenas, performing arts centers and theaters, across the country. The family style tour, a phrase coined by Hammond and McClurkin, is a platform to uplift, motivate, encourage, inspire and entertain. The tour will feature some of Gospel’s biggest and brightest on the same stage with ensemble performances and music by each artist highlighting their classic hits and most memorable anthems.
In conjunction with this year’s theme, Hammond produced “Trying to Make It Home,” a song which features vocal performances by Hammond, McClurkin, Burrell, Walker, Carree, Reedy and Cortez. The single is co-written by Hammond, Burrell, Carree, Reedy, Calvin Rodgers, and Phillip Feaster.
“The concept of ‘Trying to Make it Home,” is a collaborative effort by the artists on this tour and ties in perfectly with our purpose,” says Hammond, the co-creator of Festival of Praise. “With all the discourse, upheaval and negativity happening around the world, we all agreed that there’s one common thread that people are searching to find. People are trying to reach a safe place and home represents that for many people.
Many of us are trying to make it home to family, trying to make it home from college, trying to make it home to a better marriage, trying to make it home from sickness and disease, and ultimately, all of us are trying to make it home to heaven.”
The Festival of Praise Tour 2014 was overwhelmingly successful, “We were blessed,” continues Hammond. “But we are back bigger and better. It will be an awesome evening of inspiration filled with a message of hope and restoration.”

RiRi is busy hopping all over the world shooting her MAC campaigns, DIOR campaigns, PUMA campaigns and the list goes on. So one may think being #Booked is the reason there's no accompanying cover story like Drake had.
The pop star did, however, rock a photoshoot that lasted from morning through night. Oh, and she even turned the camera on herself while in a studio beneath the iconic Hollywood sign. FADER says:
...Contributing photographer Renata Raksha set up a series of shots that would capture Rihanna in ways that showcase the superstar as she sees herself. For a selection of images, and for the first time in The FADER's history, Raksha handed Rihanna the shutter release, giving the artist the opportunity to collaborate with the photographer, and snap the second cover of the publication's 100th issue.
As for her cover story, the story is that there isn't one. It seems as though RiRi has gone the BeyBey route when it comes to being radio silent when it comes to formal interviews.
FADER explained:
If this were a normal story, I’d tell you what she ordered if we’d gone to Giorgio Baldis, her favorite L.A. restaurant, even though she pretty much always gets the same thing (fried calamari and pasta with tomato sauce). I’d tell you if she smelled like Reb’l Fleur, her old fragrance, or, if she’s wearing RiRi, and what that smells like. The story wouldn’t be so much about what she said in response to my questions—Rihanna is media-trained—it would be about registering any silences. Or flickers of eyelid. Or churlishness. Or evasiveness. It would be reading tea leaves. It makes you wonder why any savvy celebrity would ever agree to an interview, and understand why in this case Rihanna did not.
FADER said they did email Rihanna 5 accompanying questions, but she didn't answer them. Why? Because she doesn't have to.

Beyonce Blasts Singer Accusing Her of Stealing Music for ‘Drunk in Love’
Beyonce is fighting back against a singer who accused her of stealing her vocals and illegally sampling it in the hit song “Drunk in Love”, with the music mogul saying she never even heard of the woman and is demanding the entire lawsuit be thrown out of court ASAP.
A woman named Monika Miczura (aka Mitsou)- who describes herself as a Hungarian singer of considerable international acclaim – filed suit earlier this year against Beyonce and Jay-Z over their hit song “Drunk in Love”.
The woman claimed that Beyonce stole a sample of her voice from a 1995 song “Bajba, Bajba Pelem” … without her permission or consent. She explained the sample was used to “evoke foreign eroticism alongside the sexually intense lyrics” of Beyonce’s song
Mitsou explains the first 13 seconds of “Drunk in Love” are her vocals. She also states that her vocals also appear on various occasions throughout the song. She claimed all together the song featured her voice for one and half minutes (aka 29% of the song). The singer said she never gave Beyonce permission to use her music nor was she paid for the superstars hit song. She filed suit demanding an injunction against “Drunk in Love” from continuing to be distributed and damages for the illegal use of her track along with money for her emotional distress.
Then on September 25th, Beyonce and Jay-Z fired back at the Hungarian singer’s lawsuit accusing them of ripping off her music. Beyonce explains that her song and music video are protected under the constitution since they are her artistic expression.
Further, she says that she has no idea who this Hungarian woman is who filed the legal battle. She explains that she didn’t use her voice for “Drunk in Love”, but rather the vocals are her own but were digitally altered using a software in the studio.
She adds that the woman never even explained if she owns a copyright for the song she alleges the samples were ripped off from for Bey’s hit song. The music mogul is demanding the woman’s entire lawsuit be thrown out of court and she be awarded nothing from her complaint.

Today, living legend/icon Grace Jones heads into book stores with her autobiography, "Ill Never Write My Memoirs", where she recounts stories of an abusive childhood in Jamaica, modeling in Paris with Jerry Hall, doing drugs at Studio 54 and being one of the first Black women to land a leading role in a "Bond" film.
Throughout the candid book, Miss Grace Jones does not hold back her feelings when it comes to the numerous pop starlets who've followed in her footsteps (without giving her proper credit). In a previous post, we reprinted an except where Grace SPRAYED everyone including Nicki Minaj, Miley Cyrus, Beyonce and the biggest culprit, Lady Gaga.
Now that the book is in stores, we've learned that Kim Kardashian got sprayed too. In fact, Grace used the word "basic".
Remember when Kim allegedly broke the internet by showing us her T&A (again)? Grace was unimpressed. Mainly because Grace broke the "art galleries" with an almost exact shoot back in the late 70's with the same photographer Kim used, the famed Jean Paul Goude.
Grace and Jean Paul are ex-lovers and they share a son together. It seems Grace was a bit P.O.'d that he would compromise his artistic integrity and work with Kim....recreating ish he'd ALREADY created. Where's the "art" in that? Here's what she says in her book,
“When he took a photograph of Kim Kardashian with a champagne glass perched on her ass in an impossible pose like the ones he did with me over thirty-five years ago, I asked him why he was giving her – a basic commercial product – his ideas? This seemed to contradict his spirit of integrity, which he has protected for so long. Why was he repeating himself, just to give her a little flare of publicity, quickly absorbed by the next puff of self-promotion?”
Well, he replied, ‘I got the feeling that if I didn’t do that photograph, she would have simply copied the idea anyway. I might as well copy myself.’ His ideas are are so powerful that repeating them decades later still causes a hell of a fuss, however temporary...He might have done it to wind me up a little as well. Which he did."

Nicki Minaj To Executive Produce & Appear In New Comedy Series
Looks like Nicki Minaj can add executive producer to her growing resume as the Trinidad rapper has reportedly snagged a scripted comedy series on ABC Family.
Reports flew as Karey Burke, Executive Vice President of Programming and Development at ABC Family, released a statement today regarding the series.
“Nicki Minaj is a force to be reckoned with at everything she touches. We’re beyond thrilled to bring her one-of-a-kind story to our channel. Nicki is an international superstar, yet not everyone knows how inspiring and hilarious her true story is, and we can’t wait to share it with the world.”
The half-hour comedy series is set to begin shooting this winter in Queens and will be based on Nicki and her family’s life after migrating to from Trinidad to the United States in the early 1990’s. It will also focus on her upbringing in Queens, her family, and her music career that has spawned to make her a household name. Nicki will also appear in the series.
Nicki seems pretty excited as well as she released this statement:
“This is one of the most unique adventures I’ve ever embarked on. I couldn’t be more proud and excited to team up with an amazing group of people to give the world something really special.”

Kandi Burruss Flaunts Baby Bump And Reveals Her Baby’s Due Date!
During the summer, Kandi Burruss revealed that she is expecting her first child with husband Todd Tucker! “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” season eight is currently filming, so viewers will be able to see Kandi’s pregnancy journey on the show’s upcoming season. Kandi’s due date may be sooner than we think, because she just updated fans as to when we can expect to see her baby!
Kandi took to her Instagram to flaunt her growing baby bump. “My #Babybump is getting out there now! Can’t wait to meet you #BabyTucker!,” Kandi captioned the photo. “My baby is suppose to be a #Capricorn.” Check out Kandi’s post below.
Kandi did not reveal the exact due date, but she did say her baby will be a Capricorn. Capricorns are born between the dates of Dec. 22 and Jan. 19. Kandi also said in the Instagram post that they will be bringing 2016 in with a bang, so we can expect to meet Kandi and Todd’s baby some time in January!

YAY! A ‘Soul Food’ Sequel Is Reportedly in the Works!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, a Soul Food sequel is reportedly in the works.
Tentatively titled More Soul Food, the sequel will center on the millennial generation of the Joseph family, which has lost its way due to the advent and proliferation of cell phones and social media.
Soul Food screenwriter and director George Tillman Jr. will collaborate with Nathan Skulnik to pen the new script, while Tracey and Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds will serve as producers.
It’s currently unknown whether anyone from the original film will appear in the sequel, but we’re crossing our fingers in hopes that at least one member of the first ensemble cast will sign on to star.

Uh Oh? LL Cool J’s Son Arrested
LL Cool J‘s only son was arrested after a bar clearing brawl at Catch Restaurant in the trendy Meatpacking district of New York.
Najee Smith, 26, was arrested after he refused to leave the bar located on the 2nd floor at 21 Ninth Ave early Tuesday. Investigators believe Smith was drunk when he started a fight with security at the trendy nightspot.
Security called police, according to CNN.com. Smith is being held in jail on a charge of criminal trespass.
Smith is the eldest of LL’s 4 children.

Jim Carrey's on-off girlfriend reportedly commits suicide in LA *FILE PHOTOS*
Actor Jim Carrey‘s on again, off-again girlfriend, Cathriona White, committed suicide after breaking up with Carrey.
White, 28, reportedly killed herself on Sept. 24.
In her last tweet, she wrote: “Signing off Twitter, I hope I have been a light to my nearest and dearest. [Love] to [you] all.” Carrey, 53, and White dated on and off after they first met in 2012.
According to gossip tabloid TMZ.com White left a suicide note, mentioning that she and Carrey had broken up. A bottle of pills was found near her body. White’s death was ruled a suicide.
Last week White shared an Instagram photo with her followers. In the caption, she wrote a poem by Irish poet W.B. Yeats:

Billboard Names Lady Gaga 2015 Woman Of The Year!
No stranger to all kinds of accolades, Lady Gaga added the 2015 Billboard Woman of the Year title to her resume
The “Edge of Glory” songstress will receive the honor at the annual Women in Music event on December 13th, and the shindig will air on December 18th on the Lifetime Network.

Derrick Rose STRIKES BACK! Says Alleged Gang Rape Victim CONSENTED To Group Sex
There are new developments in the gang rape case against Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose. A few weeks ago, we told you an anonymous woman who we’ll call “Jane Doe” filed a lawsuit against the NBA baller accusing him and his friends. She alleged that in 2013 they drugged her, broke into her L.A. apartment and then gang raped her while she was passed out.
The Bulls' star has presumed his innocence releasing a statement to refute the claims, and now he's filing legal docs in his defense. Derrick claims she's telling a lie and that she gave them consent to have sex. Matter of fact, she was one who allegedly buzzed them into her apartment to do so. TMZ got a hold of new court documents filed by Derrick that claim “Jane Doe” consented to sexual interactions on the day in question AND she also invited the defendants into her apartment.
The court docs also reveal the alleged victim met up with a friend the next day for a cup of coffee and went to work for a full shift. He’s hoping this would prove that she wasn’t victimized like she claims, despite the fact that rape victims all handle the situation differently
Oh…and get this. Derrick even offers up an interesting reason as to WHY she decided to press charges. He reportedly did not reimburse her for one of the sex toys used that night and he started ignoring her texts. He believes this set her off and caused her to take legal action.
She’s seeking unspecified damages.
Meanwhile, Derrick doesn’t seem to be letting this situation get to him. He’s still active on his social media accounts. Last week, he was spotted attending/supporting his baby's mother Mieka during New York Fashion Week along with their son PJ.
