Serena is flossing that bangin’ body of hers in SELF magazine’s September 2016 issue in an AllSisters bikini.
The No. 1 women’s tennis player receives hate on the daily about her body. Her take on the haters?
“I love my body, and I would never change anything about it,” she says. “I’m not asking you to like my body. I’m just asking you to let me be me. Because I’m going to influence a girl who does look like me, and I want her to feel good about herself.”
As an African-American woman at the top of a historically white sport, Serena continues to pave the way for the younger generation of athletes.
“I can’t say I am the pioneer because it was Althea Gibson, it was Zina Garrison, it was Arthur Ashe, it was so many people before me,” she said, referring to some of the first black professional tennis players. But, she adds proudly, “I appreciate being in a position where I was chosen to be a role model. Obviously, being black in tennis wasn’t easy, even in the ’90s.”
Outside of being a pioneer for the younger generation, she’s also very vocal when it comes to gender inequality. You’ll recall back in March, Indian Wells CEO Raymond Moore made a comment about women tennis players “riding on the coattails of the men.” While Raymond has since stepped down from his position for his comments, Rena had another response to his ignorant remarks.
“Last year, the women’s final at the U.S. Open sold out well before the men’s,” she said at the time, pointing to a competition in which she was vying for a rare sweep of the season’s Grand Slams. “Did Roger play in that final, or Rafa, or any man? I think not.”
Serena said, “All this is a bonus. I’m happy to even be alive right now. I win a Grand Slam, and I’m more appreciative about it. I’m not like, on to the next….OK, I still am! But I at least take five minutes to be in the moment.”

Is the drama between Kenya Moore and Matt Jordan still going strong in front of Bravo's 'The Real Housewives of Atlanta' cameras?
Kenya Moore of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta might have reunited with her longtime boyfriend Matt Jordan after an ugly split. But based on his latest social media activity, it’s safe to say they still have a few things to work out.
Jordan seemed to blast the pageant queen turned reality star Monday night on Instagram.
He shared a photo of Moore’s home, Moore Manor, and revealed in the caption that they had decided to have a talk to speak on the status of their relationship as well as celebrate his birthday. But when he arrived, he was met with cameras and a television crew; he hinted that Moore left out the fact that they would be filming for the show during their time together.
“I know I wasn’t the best man all the time,” he wrote. “I told myself I wasn’t going to leave LA but my queen asked me to come back, So we can celebrate my birthday and work out our relationship issues together. And I pull up to the crib whole freaking production team cameras and microphones everywhere I think at some point we have to separate reality and reality TV.”
He later deleted the post and followed it up with another one; making it clear he was not trying to call out Moore. He defended her against fans who insulted her under his post and added, “She made a mistake as all we have.

#EMPIRE: Terrence Howard Sued by Talent Manager Over 'Empire' Money
His terminated management firm asserts entitlement to 10 percent of his earnings during a seven-year contract to star on 'Empire.'
Terrence Howard is being hauled to court by a talent management firm that claims the actor has breached an oral contract by failing to pay over post-termination commissions.
In a complaint filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, Authentic Talent and Literary Management says Howard now owes several hundreds of thousands of dollars with the payment allegedly due likely to rise.
Authentic Talent was hired by the actor in 2013, and according to the lawsuit, it helped play "a key role in the resurgence of Howard's career. In addition to defending Howard and providing professional, personal, and other advice and career guidance to him, along with Howard's talent agents at the preeminent talent agency CAA, Plaintiff was an integral part of many discussions with Howard that led to his acceptance of the starring role of 'Lucious Lyon' on EMPIRE that had previously been procured for him by CAA."
Howard fired Authentic, but the firm now asserts entitlement to 10 percent of all gross revenue he received from entertainment industry employment obtained during the time of representation.
Most notably, that covers Fox's hit drama Empire.
According to the complaint, Howard has a contract to star on the show for seven seasons. Authentic wants a cut for the full term of this deal pursuant to promises as well as "custom, usage, and practice in the entertainment industry."
Howard's rep couldn't immediately be reached for comment. The lawsuit states that the actor confirmed multiple times, including in a September 2014 email, that he would be paying post-termination commissions. Howard and his loan-out company are said to now dispute that they owe any further commissions in connection with Empire.
Authentic retained Mathew Rosengart, who also could not be reached for comment. The attorney previously represented Sean Penn in a defamation lawsuit against Empire co-creator Lee Daniels over comments comparing Penn to Howard. In that case, Penn took issue with the fact that he was being likened to a reported domestic abuser. Rosengart also previously represented Julianna Margulies' ex-manager in a since-settled lawsuit over The Good Wife commissions.
This time, Rosengart wants to impose a constructive trust on all payments received by Howard and, besides alleged breach of an oral contract, is asserting on behalf of his client claims of quantum meruit and unjust enrichment.
In support of the latter claim, Authentic alleges that it intervened and saved Howard's job when executives at Imagine Entertainment wanted to terminate the actor from Empire. No details there are given.

New Music: Action Bronson, Mark Ronson, & Dan Auerbach – ‘Standing in the Rain’
The Suicide Squad soundtrack delivers another banger.
Beats 1 debuts Action Bronson, Mark Ronson, and Dan Auerbach’s collaboration “Standing in the Rain.”
For his part, Bronson raps about “pillow fights with Dominican mothers” and how cash impacts the world.
“The money eases everybody’s mind,” he raps. “Put kids through school, new tits on wives / New tits for the mistress/ New shit for everybody, it’s Christmas.”
Meanwhile, Ronson provides the beat and The Black Keys’ Auerbach handles the hook, which borrows from Oran “Juice” Jones’ ’80s hit “The Rain.”
“I love the way Bronson sounds when he sings,” explained Ronson. “He’s always singing little Billie Joel melodies or old songs from the ’80s. He was singing [‘The Rain’] in the studio one time. I was like, ‘We should do something with that.'”
The star-studded Suicide Squad soundtrack is set to drop Friday when the film hits theaters. It will feature “Sucker for Pain” by Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, Logic, Ty Dolla $ign, X Ambassadors, and Imagine Dragons, as well as “Purple Lamborghini” by Rick Ross and Skrillex.

BeyHive TV? Beyonce To Create Her Own Network
Rumor has it, Beyonce might be pulling an Oprah Winfrey. According to the Sun, the mega story has plans of creating her own TV network. Partnering with her management firm Parkwood, Beyonce allegedly has plans to create TV content with an educational focus.
A music insider revealed: "Beyonce replaced her management earlier this year with a super team including JP Morgan’s Steve Pamon. There were a number of reasons for doing so but one was because she intends to create her own TV network just like Oprah."
The source adds,"Her entertainment company Parkwood is doing very well and her desire is to create a network so she can have the freedom to bring the ideas of her closest creative friends to life. The plan is to develop it within the next decade. It sounds like a great deal of the network’s plan will be based around education, such as docu-series’ about African and American history."

Yay! Chaka Khan is out of rehab. She entered rehab last month after she had to cancel her appearance at the California State Fair. She had a addiction to prescription drugs. She and her sister entered together and through hard work and prayer it looks like Chaka found success.
She is scheduled to appear at at Cobb Enery PAC on Aug 5 and Verizon Theater next weekend August 13th, at the Smooth R &B “All White Party” with Raheem DeVaughn and of course Maze featuring Frankie Beverly.

Chris Brown Sued Over His Gang Affiliation by 1 OAK Shooting Victim
Chris Brown is being sued for his gang affiliation by a man who says it’s partly the reason why he got shot at 1 OAK back in 2014.
via TMZ: Ginja Elms says he was among those shot in 2014 at 1 OAK on Sunset — the same nightSuge Knight got popped 7 times. In a lawsuit he’s filed against Brown, Elms says the nightclub was well aware of the singer’s gang affiliation, and as a result it should have patted down every single person entering that night … including celebs and their crews.
He’s also suing singer Pia Mia, who co-hosted the event with Brown. You’ll recall Suge already filed a very similar suit against Brown, Mia and 1 OAK.
Aside from the obvious gunshot wound, Elms says he’s suffered “disruption in his relationship with his wife.”
He’s suing for damages in excess of $750k.
Hmm…we’re not sure if the lawsuit against Chris will hold up. It’s not his fault the club security didn’t do their job!

Brandy, Anthony Hamilton To Sing At Ray J & Princess Love’s Wedding
Brandy will be serenading her brother, Ray J, and his bride-to-be, Princess Love, to Etta James‘ “At Last,” during their first dance at their wedding next week.
The songstress will not only perform, but will be a part of the wedding party as a bridesmaid. Additionally, according to reports, Princess will walk down the aisle to Anthony Hamilton singing, “The Point of It All.”
The couple will tie the knot in a black-tie affair at a historical venue in Los Angeles next Friday, August 12th.

OWN has officially renewed Greenleaf for season 2
OWN has officially renewed the series Greenleaf for another season. Greenleaf is a new US scripted drama television series that premiered on OWN on June 21, 2016. Craig Wright (Lost, Six Feet Under) is the creator of the series, he also executive produces alongside Oprah Winfrey and Clement Virgo, who is the director. Greenleaf is a Lionsgate Television production.
At the center of the plot is the Greenleaf family that heads a Memphis-based megachurch with mostly an African-American following. Keith David and Emmy Award winner Lynn Whitfield play Bishop James Greenleaf and his power hungry wife Lady Mae Greenleaf, and Merle Dandridge reprises the role of their daughter Grace Greenwald, the protagonist. The scandals, secrets and mysteries that stem from the past and come back to haunt them are abundant in this soapy mystery that is set against thel megachurch background, unusual for a series and curious to observe.
Excellent ratings and early renewal
The series has been well received by viewers and critics alike, with praise particularly plentiful for the three leads' performances. Greenleaf has premiered to an excellent 3.04 million viewers, which made it OWN's most-watched premiere ever. However, viewership subsequently dropped to an average of 2 million viewers per episode. The series has already been renewed for a second season ahead of the first season premiere, so fans can be looking forward to another chapter of secrets, lies and re-examination of family values. Attorneys For Dylann Roof Challenge The Constitutionality of Capital Punishment
The lawyers of 22-year old #DylannRoof have filed a 34-page motion Monday to prevent the federal prosecution from seeking the death penalty in his trial citing it violated both the eighth and fifth amendments. Roof is responsible for murdering nine black parishioners in Charleston, South Carolina. On June 17 of 2015, a then 21-year old Roof drove more than one hundred miles from his home in Columbia to the historical Emmanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church. He sat in on the routine bible study with the unsuspecting members that welcomed him. While they prayed, Roof began shooting. He killed nine people, deliberately leaving a female survivor so that she could tell everyone what happened. When interrogated, Roof acknowledged his actions were intended to start a race war.
Roof's attorneys admitted "the facts of this case are indisputably grave". However, they contended that "this Court should rule that the federal death penalty constitutes a legally prohibited, arbitrary, cruel and unusual punishment prohibited by both the Fifth and Eighth Amendments." The lawyers continued, "no one can be lawfully sentenced to death or executed under it, no matter what his crimes.” The attorneys also stated in the motion that if the government would remove the death penalty in the near future, Roof would "plead guilty as charged to all counts in the indictment".
This isn't the first time Roof's attorneys have filed a motion. On June 13 of this year, a filing by Roof's attorneys was reviewed. The motion requested to have Roof's trial go before a judge instead of jury. U.S. District Judge Richard Gergel decided that Roof will stand trial before a jury and if convicted of capital crimes, the jury will hear arguments for a possible death sentence.

Nick Cannon in ‘best’ place with Mariah Carey
Nick Cannon admitted he agrees with Mariah Carey that he never expected for them to divorce but says things are “the best” they possibly could be.
The “America’s Got Talent” host admitted he agrees with his estranged wife — the mother of his 5-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe — after she said last week she “never thought” she’d get divorced from someone she had children with, and insisted they are doing their best with the situation.
“I think we have the same sentiments when it comes to that. We’re working it out, and it’s the best it possibly could be,” He told E! News.
Nick recently insisted he is very happy for Carey, who is now engaged to billionaire businessman James Packer.
“My ex and I are in a great place and are diligently moving things along so we both can continue to be happy. I am happy for her and all her new endeavors, both personal ones and professional ones,” he said.
And although Cannon was recently romantically linked with TLC singer Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas, he has vowed that Carey will “always be the love of his life.”
“It’s one of those things, I’m a hopeless romantic too. Through this learning process, you never say never. To me one thing I know, that will always be the love of my life, always be my family and that’s never going to change,” he said.
“It’s extremely disappointing when you see that people just want to perpetuate negativity when there is no negativity even involved,” he said.
The 35-year-old star won’t confirm whether or not he’s dating Chilli.
“I have no right to speak about [this] out of respect for her and everybody in the situation. You’ve got to ask her. It’s not my place as a man,” he said.
