Shamea Morton and Her Husband Gerald Are Expecting Their Second Child
A week after her announcement, Shamea revealed on a broadcast of V-103’s The Big Tigger Morning Show that her gestational carrier is Shadina Blunt — whose name may sound familiar to fans of The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
As viewers may remember, Kandi and her husband, Todd Tucker, utilized a surrogate to carry their youngest daughter, Blaze Tucker. Thanks to the guidance of Kandi’s ob-gyn, Married to Medicine’s Dr. Jackie Walters, they met Shadina, who had previously been a carrier for one other baby.
Kandi continued the kindness that Jackie started by introducing Shamea to Shadina. Shadina’s pregnancy with Gerald and Shamea’s baby marks her third time as a surrogate.
The Xscape songstress shared more details about her forever connection to Shamea soon after the two reunited at Porsha Williams and Simon Guobadia’s Thanksgiving weekend weddings(s).
“My girl [Shamea Morton and] I share a bond nobody can break! We got a lot to celebrate. [Porsha] just got married [and] Shamea has a baby on the way via surrogate!” Kandi wrote on Instagram on November 30 alongside a photo of herself and Shamea at the wedding. “[Shadina Blunt] is carrying [Shamea’s] bundle of joy [and] we’re all excited! Blessings on blessings on blessings!”
Shamea posted the same photo on her own Instagram feed and had only positive words for her pal.
“She’s so selfless! Always giving and doing for others,” Shamea wrote in her caption about the mom of three. “She introduced me to my surrogate and any time there’s an opportunity, from hosting gigs to acting, she puts me on… Love you.”
Kandi continued the love in the comments section.
“I love you too!” she replied. “I can’t wait to meet our newest addition to the family!”

#MusicNews: SZA’s ‘Sos’ Spends Second Week Atop Billboard 200 Albums Chart
SZA‘s sophomore album S.O.S. has landed atop the Billboard 200 albums chart for the second week in a row, despite a slight drop in sales figures.
According to Billboard, the project brought in 180,000 equivalent album units for the week ending December 22, marking a 43 percent drop in comparison to its first week sales. With this chart placement, S.O.S. has become the first album by a Black female artist to spend its first two weeks at No. 1 since BeyoncΓ©’s eponymous 2013 album.
The album has also earned SZA her latest Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) plaque, with S.O.S. being certified Gold on December 16, indicating 500,000 units sold.
Since delivering her second LP on December 9, SZA has celebrated a number of career milestones. In addition to becoming her first No. 1 album, S.O.S. landed the TDE songstress at the top of Spotify’s Top Artists Global daily chart on the day it was released. She knocked Bad Bunny out of the spot, becoming the first Black female artist to top the fan-driven chart.
She celebrated the chart victory with a multi-slide post on Instagram that indicated the news had not been well received by all, including a photo that read, “Girl, Fuck you.”
“Thank y’all so much,” she captioned the post. “Speechless and thanking God .. sall I got for rn . Love you all so very much [heart emoji] ps I LOVE BAD BUNNY TO SHARE SPACE W HIM EVEN FOR A SECOND IS ICONIC. Don’t be dense.”
S.O.S. also beat out Bad Bunny’s Un Verano Sin Ti as the most streamed album on Spotify for the week ending December 22.
In addition to its performance as an album, the songs from S.O.S. have also earned SZA some accolades. Twenty of the project’s 22 tracks debuted on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart, with “Kill Bill” and “Nobody Gets Me” landing in the chart’s top ten positions, the outlet reported last week.
“Kill Bill” has emerged as the apparent fan favorite, earning 43.9 million streams to close out last week in the No. 2 position on Spotify’s Weekly Top Songs Global chart behind Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You.”
According to the Spotify Charts website, SZA also landed the most songs on that specific chart last week.
Per Chart Data, another RIAA Gold certification may be right around the corner for SZA as “Kill Bill” has also sold over 500,000 units.
SZA is currently gearing up for her very first arena tour in support of her latest album. The aptly-titled SOS Tour kicks off in Columbus, Ohio on February 21. From there, the New Jersey native will hit 17 other cities including Chicago, Detroit, Toronto, Boston, New York City, Atlanta and Dallas before closing things out in Los Angeles on March 22.
Omar Apollo is set to join her on the road as the tour’s opening act.
#HipHopNews: Tory Lanez Fans Start Three Petitions To Appeal Verdict
Tory Lanez‘s fans have launched multiple petitions to appeal his conviction on three felony charges in connection to Megan Thee Stallion‘s 2020 shooting.
At least three such petitions have been created on Change.org since a Los Angeles grand jury returned the guilty verdict on Friday (December 23). The petition with the most signatures, created on the same day Tory Lanez was remanded into custody, was rapidly approaching its goal of 25,000 signatures, with over 24,600 collected at press time.
The campaign was accompanied by a lengthy argument calling multiple aspects of the trial into question, including the jury selection process, the charges levied against Tory, and Megan Thee Stallion and Kelsey Harris’ “drunken memories.”
“Tory Lanez was found Guilty of all charges and it is a true miscarriage of justice!,” petitioner Yasin TourΓ© wrote. “The state did not prove that Lanez undoubtedly committed any crime. Reasonable doubt loomed over a 10 day trial as the prosecution was unable to show us that there were not alternative explanations of the events. A circus of speculation, insufficient evidence, inconsistencies, and drunken memories left us without much moral certainty of any truth.”
The petition went on to call Megan Thee Stallion’s honesty into question, asking why she did not originally identify Tory Lanez as her shooter and also pointing to past interviews where she denied having had an intimate relationship with the Canadian singer.
Towards the end of the statement, TourΓ© also suggested, as Tory Lanez’s father had, that JAY-Z had somehow influenced the jury’s decision.
“This case is also about branding, marketing, label heads and a music industry that pushes narratives based on who they have personally invested millions into. Could Jay-Z or RocNation be involved?? The justice I want for Megan is for the full truth to come out, rather than the scrambled truth we are left with. Who really hurt Meg?
He continued: “Was this case taken because of a political pressure to fake protect black women? African-Americans went along with hashtags that didn’t protect anyone & instead caused divison between black women and black men. A trick that we so easily fall for. This petition is not to tear down nor chatise Megan Thee Stallion, but it is about asking our justice system to do the right thing. An the injustice for one of us is an injustice for us all. Simply, the case against Tory Lanez deserves a more thorough investigation.”
In addition to Yasin Toure’s petition, a second petition created on December 24 has collected 118 signatures, at the time of this writing; with a third post-verdict petition created on the same day carrying less than 100 supporters.
Tory Lanez was found guilty of felony assault with a semiautomatic firearm, possession of a concealed, unregistered firearm and discharging a firearm with gross negligence. He now faces a maximum of 22 years in prison and deportation to his native Canada.
His sentencing hearing has yet to be scheduled.
Diddy Debuts Newborn Daughter On Instagram
On Sunday (Dec. 25) rapper and music producer Diddy, real name Sean Combs, took to Instagram to share an image of himself enjoying fatherhood during the holidays with his children: Quincy Combs, King Combs, Chance Combs, Jessie Combs, D’Lila Combs. The picture, which featured the famed family rocking matching pajama sets, gave a sneak peek of Diddy’s newborn daughter, Love Sean Combs.
Diddy’s eldest biological child, Justin Combs, seemed to be missing from the Christmas photo shoot, however, it’s unsure if he missed the holiday fun with his family altogether. The 53-year-old, known by monikers such as Puff Daddy, Puffy, P. Diddy, and Love, captioned the photo:
“Merry Christmas from my family to yours! LOVE”
As previously reported, 28-year-old cyber security specialist, Dana Tran, gave birth to Diddy’s seventh child back in October. He announced the news to the world on Saturday (Dec. 10). He tweeted:
“I’m so blessed to welcome my baby girl Love Sean Combs to the world. Mama Combs, Quincy, Justin, Christian, Chance, D’Lila, Jessie and myself all love you so much! God is the Greatest!”
Music legend Clive Davis opens up about Whitney Houston: "She was loyal, devoted"
Last Friday (Dec. 23), moviegoers headed into theaters to check out I Wanna Dance with Somebody, a new biopic about legendary singer Whitney Houston. In promotion of the film, music mogul, and longtime Houston collaborator, Clive Davis sat down with CNN’s Don Lemon to talk about the project that he helped to produce. He also revealed the moment when he met Houston for the first time:
“The first time I met Whitney was really at her audition for me. She had been doing background singing in her mother’s [Emily ‘Cissy’ Houston] act. Cissy was playing Sweetwaters, a club, and Whitney sang two songs that night. One was ‘Home’ from The Wiz and the other was ‘The Greatest Love Of All.'”
He continued: “Now, she didn’t know — I don’t know how many people know — I had commissioned the song, ‘The Greatest Love Of All,’ eight years earlier for [the Muhammad Ali film, The Greatest]. And I got Michael Masser and Linda Creed, they wrote ‘The Greatest Love Of All.’ I had recorded it with George Benson. We had a top 10 R&B hit, and then this beautiful, 19-year-old girl gets to the microphone, and as soon as she started singing that song, I was stunned.”
The music legend also stated that he was slow to realize Houston faced issues with drug abuse:
“She was loyal, devoted. She always was on when she was with me. So, admittedly, I didn’t see the sign early on… Clearly, unmistakably, the lowest, if you ask me, the lowest would be the Michael Jackson concert at Madison Square Garden. She walks out on stage and I can’t believe my eyes… I never saw her looking like that. I was scared stiff. I wrote her a letter… She didn’t listen, or never replied to the letter.”
Jhene Aiko’s Dad, 78, Welcomes 9th Child 1 Month After Singer Gave Birth to Son Noah
Jhene Aiko's Dad, 78, Welcomes His 9th Child 1 Month After She Gave Birth to Son Noah
A growing family! JhenΓ© Aiko’s father, Dr. Karamo Chilombo, welcomed his ninth child one month after the singer gave birth to her son.
“He is here,” the pediatrician, 78, shared via Instagram on Sunday, December 25, alongside a slideshow of photos depicting his newborn, Aiko’s half-sibling, accompanied by Bible verses. “JahSeh- Miyagi, 12/16/22.”
In another snap, Chilombo recalled meeting his baby boy for the first time. “THE FIRST MEETING OF FATHER AND SUN/SON ON THAT SPECIAL DAY AND HE WAS ALREADY VERY HUNGRYππ♐️,” he captioned the sweet picture.
In July, the Dr. Chill OG performer, who has eight other children, announced that he had another little one on the way with his partner when he posted a video of the gender reveal results. The “Wrap Me Up” singer, 34, shared her well-wishes with her dad at the time.
“Congratulations π,” Aiko commented on the clip.
The Grammy nominated singer, whose mom is Christina Yamamoto, is the youngest of Yamamoto and Chilombo’s five children together. In addition to Aiko, her parents also raised son Jahi and daughters Jamila and Miyoko. Aiko’s other brother, Miyagi, died in 2012 after being diagnosed with a brain tumor. He was 26.
In November, the “Sunshine” songstress welcomed her second child, son Noah, whom she shares with Big Sean. (Aiko is also mom to 14-year-old daughter Namiko, with whom she shares with ex O’Ryan.)
“After 24 hours of Labor, A Lunar Eclipse, with rain from the beginning of labor til he was born, he’s here safe and sound,” Sean, 34, announced via Instagram at the time of the arrival of the pair’s first child together. “Happy, Healthy and everything we could ever ask for and more.”
The couple have been together on and off since 2016, the year they released their joint album Twenty88. Though Aiko and Sean split two years later, they reconciled in early 2020.
“We’re just so close, I don’t know,” Aiko exclusively told Us Weekly about her relationship with the “Bounce Back” artist in 2019. “We’re definitely, we’re actually a lot alike. We’re a lot alike, so it is really easy for us to collaborate. … We’re constantly just feeding off each other, or, giving each other little ideas, little bars here and there, and like, ‘Oh, maybe you shouldn’t say that. Maybe you should say it a little more like this.’”
In 2016, “The Worst” artist opened up about her experience of being a mother to Namiko during an episode of Vice Autobiographies.
“In 2008, I got pregnant with my daughter. She made me feel fearless,” she shared at the time. “I never doubted that something good would come from it. If anything, it was inspiring and it just gave me this extra, extra drive.”
Tearful Kim Kardashian Says Co-Parenting With Kanye West Is “Really F--king Hard”
Kim Kardashian is opening up about the complexities of co-parenting with ex Kanye West.
Nearly one month after the former couple finalized their divorce, the SKIMS founder—who shares kids North, 9, Saint, 7, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 3, with the Yeezy designer—is giving her thoughts on their dynamic when it comes to their four children.
"I definitely protected him and I still will in the eyes of my kids, for my kids," she said during the Dec. 26 episode of Angie Martinez's IRL podcast. "So, in my home, my kids don't know anything that goes on in the outside world."
Adding that she will continue to protect her kids "for as long as I can," Kim broke down in tears, noting, "It's hard. S—t like co-parenting, it's really f—king hard."
During their sit-down, the Kardashians star also reflected on the impact of her own relationship with her late father, Robert Kardashian, Sr.
"I had the best dad," she continued. "And I had the best memories and the greatest experience and that's all I want for my kids. As long as they can have that, that's what I want for them."
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Finalize Divorce Nearly 2 Years After Breakup
"So, if they don't know things that are being said, or what's happening in the world, why would I ever bring that energy to them?" Kim added. "That's real heavy, heavy grown-up s—t. And they're not ready to deal with it, and when they are, we'll have those conversations."
Kim's latest interview comes nearly three weeks after a source also shared insight into their co-parenting relationship, noting that Kim is making sure Kanye remains involved in their kids' lives.
"All the kids are very bonded to Kanye and adore him despite what's going on," the insider told E! News in early December. "Kim is doing a great job of not letting that change their relationship."
As the source noted, "He will always be a part of their lives and she will help facilitate that. She absolutely wants to include him in important events in the kids' lives and makes every effort."
#TRAGIC At least 27 confirmed deaths in New York snowstorm
A deadly snowstorm hit New York over the holiday weekend that killed more than two dozen people and left thousands without power. According to The Buffalo News, city officials confirmed at least 27 deaths in Erie and Niagara counties due to the blizzard.
Buffalo police spokesperson Michael J. DeGeorge said at 8:45 a.m. this morning (Dec. 26), the death toll in Buffalo had risen to 20 people due to the snowstorm. Erie County executive Mark Poloncarz confirmed three deaths each in Amherst and Cheektowaga. And Niagara County on Sunday (Dec. 25) reported one confirmed storm death; a 27-year-old Lockport man who passed on Sunday from apparent carbon monoxide poisoning.
“We have many more 911 calls regarding dead bodies that we are also working diligently to get to to confirm and recover,” Buffalo Police Commissioner Joseph Gramaglia said. “We are also working very hard to complete welfare checks in an effort to reduce potential deaths,” he added.
He said the deaths were of people found outside and in cars and from individuals who had “cardiac-related events” while removing snow from outside of their homes and businesses. Both Poloncarz and Buffalo Mayor Byron W. Brown said on Sunday that they expect the number of deaths to rise.
“We can see, sort of, the light at the end of the tunnel. But this is not the end yet. We are not there,” said Poloncarz.
According to Jon Hitchcock, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Buffalo, the snowstorm is expected to end tomorrow morning, with between four and eight more inches expected to fall in parts of the region.
He added that the snow is anticipated to be “very fluffy” with very little wind in the forecast. Hitchcock also said Buffalo shouldn’t expect the same level of blizzard-like conditions it experienced over the weekend.
Today (Dec. 26), the Weather Service said more than 49 inches of snow was recorded over three days at Buffalo Niagara International Airport, the highest total in Erie County. Jefferson County received between 22 and 41 inches, Niagara County recorded up to 24 inches and Lewis County saw up to 30 inches of snow over the same period.
More than 12,000 customers remained without power in Erie County. Mr. Poloncarz said electricity “might not get restored until Tuesday (Dec. 27)” because of damage to utilities from the storm. Officials announced the Buffalo airport would remain closed until Tuesday morning.
Usher Remembers His Grandma Tina In Heartfelt Tribute After Her Death - 'She Will Be Missed Very Much'
Usher paid tribute to his Grandma Tina after her death. The 44-year-old musician took to social media to confirm that his beloved grandma had sadly passed away and to remember her with a heartfelt message.
He admitted that it took him “a few days to come to grips” with the loss and said that he felt “a bit lost right now.”
“It’s taken me a few days to come to grips with the fact that my Grandma Tina is no longer with me. I’m praying for clarity and strength for all whom relied on her. Her daily devotion was to help those in need and she did just that. It was her life’s work. She was truly a prayer warrior for me and so many others. I feel a bit lost right now,” the star wrote alongside a post on Instagram.
“Part of me is trying to be strong, for others,” he said. “The other half of me continues to break silently. We were just laughing days ago … I really thought we had more time.”
Usher described a grandma who was “always there when I called on her, no matter the hour or how long it took.”
“When I was broken, confused, lost and most vulnerable. She saw something else…and was there to remind me of purpose, and that no matter what I was facing. I love u more, she would say,” he said of his “earth angel.”
“GOD answered her prayers…and now I know he has called her home. I just wasn’t ready,” he wrote. “Her last words to me were, ‘There’s a time for everything son …there’s a time to laugh, a time to cry…there’s a time to live and a time to die.’”
He signed off with an anecdote: “Someone told me just today, ‘Keep in mind that it’s only sad b/c we miss them and that’s us being selfish and rightfully so but it’s really a congratulatory celebration b/c they’re at the ultimate place forever!’ I believe that… she will be missed very much.”
Our thoughts go out to Usher and everyone else who is missing Grandma Tina right now.

Tia Mowry Celebrates Christmas with Ex Cory Hardrict and Kids: 'Family Will Always Be Family'
Tia Mowry is sharing her gratitude for new beginnings on her first Christmas since her divorce.
On Sunday, the actress shared a series of photos from her holiday celebrations with her daughter Cairo, 4, and son Cree, 11. The three spent the holiday with Cory Hardrict, 43, as the former couple commits to co-parenting their two children.
"Family will ALWAYS be Family," said Mowry, 44, in the caption of the heartwarming pics on Instagram. "Merry Christmas from our family to yours."
In the photos, the family sits near a white fireplace decorated with a garland and wreath set full of red and gold ornaments. They joyfully pose for the camera as Cree shows off a broad smile in one sweet snap and makes a nervous gesture in another as his mom leans in to kiss him on the cheek.
Cairo stood out in a light pink ruffle top dress matched with white tights opposite her family's gray and white outfits. In one photo, she was given a sweet embrace by her parents and then played with a red stuffed animal in another as she smiled next to her dad.
Mowry previously expressed similar feelings about uniting as a family, telling TMZ earlier this month, "Yes, we are going to be spending the holidays with him, which we're really excited about, with the whole family."
Asked if she thinks more families should put aside their differences to be together during the holidays, Mowry responded, "I mean, family is family no matter what happens, and that's what's important to me. We will always be family."
The parents of two called it quits after 14 years of marriage in October. While chatting with PEOPLE about her partnership with Lactaid earlier this month, Mowry noted how she is "really learning how to really be present" in her new parental role.
"I feel like, especially as a mom wearing so many different hats, I'm always in survival mode,"
"I'm always making sure everybody is okay, everybody's alive, everybody's healthy, everybody's fed," she continues, "and making sure everybody's fine, they have no holes in their socks, et cetera."
"But for me," Mowry added, "it's about learning how to be aware and present with myself, and tapping in and making sure I too am taken care of. [Because] how can you take care of other people if your cup isn't filled?"
The Game alum announced her separation from Hardrict on Oct. 4, saying that the decision was not "easy and not without sadness."
"We will maintain a friendship as we co-parent our beautiful children," she said. "I am grateful for all the happy times we had together and want to thank my friends, family and fans for your love and support as we start this new chapter moving forward in our lives."
In her divorce filing, Mowry cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. They also requested joint physical and legal custody of their children.
Chaka Khan Was Sued Over Son’s 2004 Murder Case
*Chaka Khan was once forced to cough up some money in a wrongful death lawsuit involving the singer’s son.
As I Love Old School Music reports, Chaka’s son Damien Holland was 25 years old when he allegedly accidentally killed his friend, Christopher Bailey, 17, in 2004.
Bailey was staying at the home Holland shared at the time with his mother, his girlfriend, and his young daughter. Holland reportedly shot Bailey in the face with an M-16 assault rifle as the two sparred over an affair the victim claimed to have had with Holland’s girlfriend. Damian was ultimately charged with murder.
“It was like something out of a nightmare,” Khan testified during the 2016 trial.
According to TODAY, Khan said the victim “could have survived the shooting had police permitted emergency medical workers to enter her home sooner,” the outlet writes.
Per ILOSM, Holland reportedly told his attorneys that he lied about the gun going off during a struggle with Bailey. “Holland also said he persuaded friends to lie to the police and had a friend punch him in the face to make it appear he had fought with Bailey,” the outlet writes.
“I didn’t see any way out of the situation,” Holland reportedly said. “I felt terrible.”
Damien was ultimately acquitted of all charges after the jury heard testimony from his mother and other close friends and relatives.
Khan and many of the witnesses are suspected of lying during the trial about the circumstances surrounding Bailey’s death, The DailyBreeze reported.
Christopher’s parents ultimately filed and won a $1.3 million wrongful death lawsuit against Chaka as well as her son and Chaka’s mother, according to ILOSM.

Shaquille O’Neal reveals 40-pound weight loss: It ‘just fell off’
The ex NBA player spoke to Entertainment Tonight on Monday about his diet and exercise plan, saying the weight “just fell off” after he instituted certain lifestyle changes.
“A friend of mine called me and said, ‘You’re fat,’ and she gave me this guy’s name, and he did some blood work,” the retired athlete recalled. “He was saying, ‘You can do this, you can’t do that, [eat] more vegetables, [your] iron’s low.’
“Once I just started changing those certain things, it dropped,” the 50-year-old continued. “It’s all about eating right.”
O’Neal noted that he wasn’t “a salad eater” before but now takes supplements, drinks shakes and avoids soda.
He noted his plans to also eliminate bread from his routine, explaining, “I think I could get the Marky Wahlberg look. I want to be known as the Black Mark Wahlberg.”
The interview comes two months after O’Neal’s “Impaulsive” appearance, during which he told Logan Paul that he had dropped from 401 pounds to 365.
The Olympian shaded fellow sports analyst Charles Barkley at the time, saying the 59-year-old was his “motivation” to have a different “retirement body.”
O’Neal, who wants to “become a sex symbol,” added, “I didn’t want my stomach to be over the belt anymore. So I was just like, ‘Let me go ahead and get slim.'”
In September, the rapper wowed his Instagram followers with a now-viral shirtless video taken mid-workout.
“Do I see a 6 pack?” one social media user asked in the comments, while another joked, “Shaq with the ab implants.”
When O’Neal spoke to Men’s Journal about his weight loss in November 2021, he joked that he hadn’t seen his abs since his pro basketball days.
Since he was “was starting to look old and didn’t want to,” O’Neal hit the gym and cut out late-night Oreos and Entenmann’s cakes for his desired results.

Delta Air Lines is bringing Cuba back. Starting April 10, 2023, flights from Miami to Cuba will resume following a three-year hiatus.
The flights were suspended in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But coupled with the lift of travel restrictions and the Biden administration’s plans to offer travel between the two countries easier after the Trump administration made severe travel restrictions between them, it will be possible once again.
According to Travel Noire, Delta customers traveling through Miami can choose between 203 weekly nonstop flights departing from 10 U.S. airports.
There will be two daily nonstop flights from Miami International Airport to the JosΓ© MartΓ International Airport in Havana, Cuba.
Before 2016, there was a 55-year suspension for Delta to fly to Cuba. But the US carrier acknowledged the high demand and announced in its September quarter 2022 financial results that they are fully committed to restoring its network by next summer.
“The flights will operate on an Airbus A320 aircraft with a choice of First Class, Delta Comfort+, or Main Cabin. First Class customers will enjoy treats and beverages, including unique products from small and diverse brands like Kate’s Real Food Lemon Coconut bars, Thrive Farmers Tea, and Du Nord vodka. Comfort+ and Main Cabin customers will also enjoy a tasty snack like Biscoff cookies,” Delta’s website reads.
