#FASHIONFILES: Laverne Cox in Schiaparelli at Paris Fashion Week Hot or Not?
Laverne Cox, who’s taking over as the E! red carpet correspondent AND has the upcoming, highly buzzy Inventing Anna releasing, is taking this moment to parade all over Paris in some of the most outrageous fashion she could snag. We can’t “Attagirl” her loudly enough.
We’re not convinced that the sandals/tights combination works or makes sense, but it’s Schiaparelli and “not making sense” is practically the house aesthetic. Besides, it’s the only critique we have. LOVE the coat, hat and earrings.
So I ask you is she Hot or Not?
#RHOA: Mike Hill Says Marriage to ‘RHOA’ Star Cynthia Bailey ‘Might Not Make It To Year Two’
*Sportscaster and TV personality Mike Hill has dropped some bombshell tea about his marriage to former “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Cynthia Bailey.
Hill revealed in an interview with Behind the Velvet Rope podcast that while celebrating their one-year anniversary, a misunderstanding lead to an argument that left him reconsidering the longevity of their marriage.
“Sunday was our anniversary, and then I took Monday off and had to go back to work on Tuesday. We basically stayed in town and went to this great hotel that’s in town in West Hollywood, and we just chilled, went to dinner, and enjoyed each other’s company,” he said.
“But I’ll say because we are also very transparent…yeah we argue, and I’m going to tell you right now that Sunday was great [but] that Monday, I was like, ‘We might not make it to year two.’ Because it was just something that happened, I don’t go too far into our business – it was nothing malicious. It was just a misunderstanding. A lot of times, it’s just communication.”
Hill recently shot down rumors of infidelity when a woman claimed she had sent nude images to him. When TMZ caught up with Hill and Bailey, he denounced the woman’s allegations and Hill threatened to take legal actions against the woman.
“We’ll take care of it the way it’s supposed to be taken care of,” he said to the news outlet. Hill also admitted he does not have any relationship with his accuser but hoped she would seek psychological help.
According to reports, a Twitter user with the handle @Alist_xo claims Hill hit up her DMs with flirtatious messages and nude pics. Hill denies this.
“Okay well let’s say this for starters. He has sent me nudes I have videos and no it’s not massive but it’s pretty. The nudes I’ll post some snippets of later on but those will cost ya,” the woman wrote.
“Please don’t believe bs,” Mike reportedly said in a statement when contacted via DM after the woman shared the story. “Not exposing me cuz THAT’S not ME.” He hinted that he’s considering to take legal action as adding, “Don’t know this person or why they’re doing this but my lawyer has been contacted.”
When pressed that Cynthia didn’t deserve to be treated poorly like that, Mike added, “I wouldn’t do her like that. That’s dumb. Far from it. Just someone who hates progress or I pissed off making up stuff. Well, not from MY account and that pic is NOT mine. I know that I look like. Thank you.”
Hill said he and Bailey are “good” and that his wife “doesn’t believe” the woman’s tale

#HipHopNews: The Game Is Upset At Being Left Off Top 50 Rappers Of All-Time Lists
The Game thinks he belongs on anyone's top 50 greatest rappers list.
In 2019, many artists and industry figures, from T.I. to Hot 97's Ebro Darden, shared their personal takes on who are the 50 greatest rappers of all time. Lil Durk even posted his own list. Now, nearly two-and-a-half years later, Game is taking issue with being left off Ebro, T.I. and DJ Funkmaster Flex's lists.
"@oldmanebro @funkflex & @troubleman31…… I ain’t forgot about these lists," he wrote yesterday (Jan. 24) on Instagram. "#DRILLMATIC coming soon…. HURRICANE GAME LIVES. y’all shoulda just threw my baby mamas in there too !!!!"
The three lists contain many of the same prerequisite names when discussing the greatest figures in hip-hop, such as The Notorious B.I.G., Tupac Shakur, Jay-Z, Eminem and others. But even modern names like Meek Mill, Big Sean, Young Thug and ASAP Rocky were listed ahead of Game in some instances. You can see the three lists and Game's post at the bottom of this story.
The Game has never shied from conversations involving rapper rankings. Last year, he offered his list of top 10 living rappers, in which he included Jay-Z, Nas, Lil Wayne and others, but also added that he could go "bar for bar" with anyone on his list. Additionally, a few months before that, he claimed he is the best rapper from Compton and was the one who showed Kendrick Lamar the ropes.
Game is currently enjoying the success of his new single "Eazy" with Kanye West. The track, which dropped on Sat., Jan. 15, debuted at No. 49 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This marked Game's highest-charting song since "My Life" featuring Lil Wayne in 2008.
His new album Drillmatic is expected to drop later this year.
Jussie Smollett Sentencing Hearing Scheduled For March 10
A sentencing date has been determined for Jussie Smollett! Just one month after the former ‘Empire’ star was was convicted of five of six counts in his hate crime hoax case, he is now set to be sentenced on March 10. As previously reported, the 39-year-old actor was charged on December 9 with five counts of felony disorderly conduct related to false statements given to Chicago police about an alleged 2019 hate crime against him. In 2019, Smollett claimed that two white men attacked him, yelled racist and homophobic slurs at him, poured bleach on him and wrapped a noose around his neck.
However, after an investigation took place, a few holes were found in Jussie Smollett’s story and law enforcement accused him of staging the attack. Nigerian brothers Abimbola and Olabinjo Osundairo eventually came forward and claimed that the assault was fake and Smollett paid them to “attack” him, in an attempt to get media attention.
Jussie Smollett later testified in his own defense and said he paid the brothers only for training advice and nutritional tips. He expressed doubt on their true motive and even admitted to having a sexual relationship with one of the brothers.
According to reports, a disorderly conduct charge for a false crime report is a Class 4 felony and punishable by up to three years in prison and a $25,000 fine. Experts have previously expressed that Jussie Smollett probably won’t serve anytime behind bars and instead will likely be placed on probation and ordered to perform community service.
Only time will tell! Reportedly, a hearing for post-trial motions is scheduled for January 27 and the sentencing date is set for March 10.

Dolly Parton Opens Up About The Rumors That Her Breasts Are Insured
Dolly Parton is clearing up a big rumor about her.
It’s been rumored for some time that the 76-year-old musician’s breasts are insured, and now, she’s putting all the questions to rest.
The rumor that her breasts were insured started years ago after she personally heard that Betty Grable‘s legs were also insured, however, Dolly says it was all a joke for her and she did not insure her breasts.
“It’s not true,” she shared while speaking to Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager on Today. “Years ago, was it [actress] Betty Grable, or one of the great famous stars that was famous also for her legs? At that time, I said ‘Well maybe I should get my boobs insured since I’m famous for them.’ ”
Dolly added that “it was just a joke. I didn’t do that.”
Tasha K slams ‘machine’ on YouTube after court loss to Cardi B
Tasha K promised to fight her $3 million court loss to Cardi B this week in a discursive statement Wednesday that railed against “the machine” and “corporate interests,” while gassing up her own media company.
Sighing heavily before beginning her statement, Tasha, née Kebe, started, “These last four years fighting this conspiracy case, have been extremely challenging … The verdict handed down on Monday was no shock to myself, my husband or my legal team.
“We called bluff against a machine that wanted to bully me for not wavering from my personal beliefs,” Kebe continued. “A machine that has corporate interests to protect prostitution, drug use, promiscuity and to glorify the violence that wreaks havoc in our society and in our neighborhood.” Later, she claimed said machine threatened her life.
Calling the verdict “extremely prejudicial,” based “solely off sympathy and payola,” Kebe said the trial “[made] me out to be an angry and malicious woman,” and repeatedly invoked her First Amendment rights, positing at one point, “my case will set a precedent for all future media.”
“There was no defamation, no invasion of privacy, and suicidal thoughts,” she said, — referencing Cardi’s testimony that Kebe’s allegations drove her to a dark place mentally — before adding, “and we proved that with sufficient, factual evidence,” without specifying exactly what that was.
“We will fight, no matter the cost or length, even if this takes years,” Kebe continued, adding later, “all the way up to the Supreme Court if need be.” She also said that while the court did not ask her to remove the videos that were part of the trial, she did so anyway “to show good faith to the courts.”
The gossip maven, born Tasha Kebe, was ordered last week to pay Cardi $1 million in punitive damages after the “I Like It” rapper accused the social media star of defamation.
Tasha’s company, Kebe Studios LLC, was also ordered to pay an additional $500,000 and reimburse Cardi’s legal fees, which added up to $1,338,753.47. Added in with the $1.25 million Kebe was ordered to pay Monday, the total comes out to more than $4 million.
Cardi’s legal win came after she took to the stand last week to explain that Tasha’s “lies” made the rapper “extremely suicidal.”
“I felt defeated and depressed and I didn’t want to sleep with my husband,” Cardi told jurors, also detailing the fatigue, weight loss, migraine headaches and anxiety that forced her to seek therapy.
Cardi claimed that Tasha told her followers that the Grammy winner contracted herpes and spread more untruths — including that she cheated on her husband (fellow rapper Offset), used cocaine, worked as a prostitute and she “f–ked herself with beer bottles on f–king stripper stages.”
Cardi’s legal team claimed that Tasha knowingly published lies about the musician for her own gain, though the vlogger has denied any wrongdoing.
Earlier this week, Cardi told Page Six in a statement that she is filled with “great happiness” to walk away from the contentious court battle.
“After almost four years of repeated libel and slander against me, being able to walk away from this victorious brings me great happiness,” she said, in part. “I appreciate Judge Ray for conducting a fair and impartial trial.”

Janet Jackson Denies Having Secret Baby with Ex-Husband James DeBarge
Janet Jackson is once-and-for-all putting long-standing rumors that she secretly had a baby with ex-husband James DeBarge to rest in her upcoming documentary.
via Page Six:
“I could never keep a child away from James. How could I keep a child from their father? I could never do that. That’s not right,” Jackson, 55, says in the upcoming two-night Lifetime and A&E special.
The “Control” singer remembers the chatter first starting to spread in 1984 on the Season 4 set of NBC’s “Fame,” in which she played Cleo Hewitt.
“A lot of the kids thought I was pregnant ’cause I had gained weight and I had started taking birth control pills,” she says.
“And back then, you could pick up weight taking them, and that’s what happened to me, so that rumor started going around.”
Debbie Allen, who led the TV series as Lydia Grant, remembers being taken aback by their co-stars’ speculation, too.
“These were rumors that were just flying around, honey, like hash in a diner,” Allen, 72, says. “Where was the baby? Nobody saw a baby. I mean, she was there with us all day, every day. Where was the baby?”
The gossip really got out of hand, though, when people dragged Jackson’s family into it.
“First they were saying my niece Brandi was my daughter and that I gave her to [my brother] Jackie to raise,” she recalls. “And then because [my brother] Randy’s daughter looks so much like me, they started saying it was Stevanna.”
Even DeBarge, 58, himself has claimed over the years that he and his ex-wife had a child.
“I was under the impression that there was no baby, and I wanted to believe it’s not true. But it is,” he told his daughter Kristinia DeBarge in a November 2016 episode of the WE tv series “Growing Up Hip Hop.”
Jackson eloped with James in September 1984 when they were 18 and 21, respectively. She had already released two albums to middling success by that point and wanted to independence from her notoriously controlling father and manager, Joe Jackson.
But the couple’s marriage was short-lived, ending in an annulment in November 1985 after Janet found out that the “Rhythm of the Night” crooner had been using drugs.
“I was just incredibly innocent,” she says with tears in her eyes in the documentary. “It’s just, to me, hurtful for someone to see that and just try to take advantage of it.”
Janet did become a mother decades later when she and her third husband, billionaire businessman Wissam Al Mana, welcomed a son, Eissa, in January 2017. The pair separated only three months later.
‘Janet Jackson’ airs Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. ET on Lifetime and A&E.
Memorial/Statue of Kobe & Gianna Bryant Erected At Crash Site on 2nd Anniv. of Their Deaths
(January 26, 2022) is the second observance of the tragic death of NBA superstar Kobe Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna. To honor them and the seven others who lost their lives in a helicopter crash in Southern California on Jan. 26, 2020, a temporary statue of Kobe and Gianna has been erected at the crash site by Dan Medina, an LA-based sculptor.
The bronze statue shows Kobe Bryant dressed in his Los Angeles Lakers uniform and putting his arm around Gianna, who’s looking up at him while holding a basketball. Gianna Bryant, who was traveling to a youth basketball tournament with her father before their deaths, is also wearing hoops gear, reports CBS Sports.
Medina added the names of Kobe and Gianna Bryant, plus the seven others who died in the crash, to the statue’s base. The statue’s base also reads “Heroes come and go, but legends are forever.”
The Kobe and Gianna Bryant statue reportedly weighs 160 pounds, and Medina hauled it uphill with a wagon on Wednesday. Medina plans to remove it by sunset, however, as he’s lobbying for an opportunity to build a larger, permanent version.

As the CBS Sports article notes, a large statue would be fitting for Kobe Bryant, who had a larger-than-life NBA career. The former Lakers star won five championships, claimed the scoring title twice, made 12 All-Defensive teams and earned 18 All-Star selections over his two-decade career in Los Angeles.
Jeopardy!' champion Amy Schneider's 40-game winning streak comes to an end
Jeopardy! viewers knew it would happen eventually, and it finally did on Wednesday's show: Amy Schneider's long run has ended.
While Schneider, an engineering manager from Oakland, Calif., was leading by $10,000 as the contestants headed into the all-important "Final Jeopardy!" category, she failed to answer the clue. It was, "The only nation in the world whose name in English ends in an H, it's also one of the 10 most populous." Contestant Rhone Talsma, a librarian from Chicago, managed to overtake Schneider when she answered, "What is Bangladesh?" the correct response. Schneider ended up with $19,600 versus Talsma's $29,600.
"I had thought that Rhone was going to be tough going into it," Schneider said in a news release from the show that was embargoed until 7:30 p.m. ET. "I loved hanging out with him, we had great conversation before the taping, but I could tell that he was here to play and that he was going to be good. I still came very close to winning, but I did feel like maybe I was slipping a little bit. And once it was clear that he was fast on the buzzer, I knew it was going to be a battle all the way."
But Schneider did not walk away empty-handed. Far from it. She won $1,382,800 in her 40-game streak as champion and broke several records. Her hefty payday ranks fourth on the list of regular season winnings. Only Matt Amodio ($1,518,601), James Holzhauer ($2,462,216) and Ken Jennings ($2,520,700) won more. She reigned as champion longer than any other player, with the exception of Jennings, who had 74 wins. In addition, Schneider became the woman with the highest winnings ever and the highest number of games won ever. She also became the first transgender contestant to qualify for the annual Tournament of Champions, back in November.
"It's really been an honor," Schneider said after her loss. "To know that I'm one of the most successful people at a game I've loved since I was a kid and to know that I'm a part of its history now, I just don't know how to process it."
The famed player has mentioned before that her parents introduced her to the game show that they had enjoyed so much, and she'd long aspired to appear.
Although Schneider was a fierce contestant, she was also a friendly one, swapping kind messages on social media with or about others who've competed on the quiz show. She complimented their performance or their sense of fashion.
Schneider seemed to feel at home there.
"I think that the best part for me has been being on TV as my true self, expressing myself and representing the entire community of trans people," Schneider told Good Morning America this week. "And just kind of showing a different thing than maybe some people have seen, of just being a smart, confident woman and just doing something super normal, like being on Jeopardy!."
Mary J. Blige says she had to pay herself 'the highest compliments' in order to get her confidence back
Even music superstars like Mary J. Blige need tricks to boost their confidence.
The "Family Affair" singer, who will perform on stage at the Super Bowl Halftime Show on Feb. 13, spoke to ELLE about how during her tumultuous marriage to Kendu Isaacs, she often relied on positive self-talk in order to stay comfortable in her own skin.
"If you've been beat down mentally by someone, you're never pretty enough," she explained of her relationship with her former manager Isaacs, which ended in 2016 after Blige filed for divorce. "You're never smart enough. Nothing’s ever good enough."
Blige admitted that during that point in her life, she was feeling "so low" that she had to find a strategy to feel good again.
"I had to pay myself the highest compliments, even if I didn’t believe it, just so I could build myself up," Blige told the magazine. "I would do it in the morning, because that's the time when your hair is not done and you don't have on makeup. You're just kind of dealing with yourself for real."
Now, her daily morning affirmations include telling herself, "Good morning, Gorgeous. I love you. I got you. I need you."
This isn’t the only time that the Mudbound actress has spoken about dealing with low self-esteem. In December 2020, she appeared on Taraji P. Henson’s Facebook Watch show Peace of Mind to talk about combating "stinkin' thinking" — her term for the negative thoughts about herself she has inside her head.
"The negative thought life creates a bad day because if you don't get a hold to what you thinkin', everything you do is gonna be what you thinkin'," she told Henson at the time. "So, every single day, every second of the day, we are fighting our thought, but I'm gonna try my hardest to not lie to myself about anything because when we lie to ourselves that’s a form of insanity. You just can't do it ... you've gotta teach that other side that you can't win."

A Travis Scott Petition Has Nearly 70,000 Signatures In Favor Of Him Performing At Coachella In 2023
Travis Scott fans are rallying behind the rapper, demanding he performs at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in 2023.
via: Uproxx: Coachella’s 2022 festival is set to kick off in less than three months, with Kanye West, Billie Eilish, and Harry Styles serving as headliners. It’ll be the festival’s first iteration since 2019, after they were forced to cancel the ones set for 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic. When first announced in 2020, Travis Scott, Frank Ocean, and Rage Against The Machine were announced as the headliners. It was originally believed that the trio would headline his year’s show, but Frank’s set was postponed until 2023 while Scott and Rage Against The Machine were dropped from the lineup.
Many Travis Scott supporters are upset that he won’t be there, which most likely came as a result of the tragedy at his 2021 Astroworld Festival. So they’ve taken matters into their own hands. A petition calling for the rapper’s appearance at Coachella next year currently has nearly 70,000 signatures, with the goal of obtaining at least 75,000. It also calls for Kanye West to help deliver a Scott performance at Coachella.
“Book Travis for 2023 or have Ye bring him out!” a statement on the petition reads. “After Coachella unfairly removed Travis Scott for Harry Styles, they need to do the right thing and rebook him immediately.” It continues, “Coachella switched Travis and Frank for Harry Styles and Billie Eilish? What kind of message does that send? Fans are demanding refunds and selling their tickets. Coachella needs to fix this asap.” The statement concludes, “We all know Astroworld tragedy wasn’t Travis fault. Let him get back to performing on the biggest stages!”
It should be noted that Coachella did not intentionally switch either Frank Ocean for either Harry Styles or Billie Eilish. Back in August, months before either the two were announced as headliners, Coachella’s co-founder said Frank would miss the 2022 festival because he was unavailable for the rescheduled dates. Frank will instead perform in 2023.

Spirit Airlines Employee Arrested for Stealing from Passengers’ Luggage
*A 25-year-old Spirit Airlines employee was arrested after stealing passengers’ belongings from their luggage at Fort Lauderdale- Hollywood International Airport.
Black Enterprise reports that Cush Karlson Joseph Vengeto was arrested while on the job on January 18. The charges against him come after Broward County Deputies and Spirit Airlines launched a probe after complaints of “thefts of personal items from the interior of luggage which belonged to customers who flew on Spirit Airlines.”
Vengeto was released from Broward County Jail after his $1,000 bond was paid by Hailey Johnson on January 19. According to the bond release report, Johnson has the same home address as Vengeto.
Read the arrest report here.
He is reportedly charged with third-degree felony theft of more than $750 and less than $5,000.
Spirit has suspended Vengeto without pay.
Spirit Airlines told Local 10 News that another employee is also under investigation, and noted that “[b]oth employees were promptly suspended without pay. We do not tolerate this behavior, and we are performing a thorough investigation…”
Currently, which personal items were stolen from travelers’ luggage remains unknown. It’s also unclear whether the unnamed employee has been also been charged with a crime.
Asian Cashier Caught On Camera Digging Through Black Customer’s Pockets In ‘Alleged’ Racial Profiling Incident
If you’re Black in America, there’s a likelihood that you’ve been followed around grocery stores, bodegas, department stores and the like by racists of multiple races because, unfortunately, anti-Blackness is a global phenomenon. But back in the day (I’m not old, you’re old…shut up) we didn’t have readily available cameras to record racial profiling incidents and businesses didn’t have to fear review sites that were open to the public.
Anyway, (in my best Nina Simone voice) It’s a new dawn, it’s a new day, it’s a new life for racist business owners and employees because, in the digital age, bigots are getting put on full blast.
According to International Business Times, an incident between a Black woman model and an Asian cashier ended in yet another viral altercation involving a negro minding her own business and a non-negro…also minding the Black person’s own business.
It all started when model Megan Milan was shopping at a beauty store in Los Angeles’ Santee Alley called Remy’s, and an Asian cashier started rifling through her coat pockets presumably looking for stolen items, which she did not find.
If you didn’t think non-white people were capable of this level of caucasity, you haven’t been Black in this world for long enough.
I mean, WT holy F?
First of all, Asian Karen (that’s what the internet has been calling her) needs to learn to respect boundaries. Even racial profiling cops have the decency to stop a Black person and warn them they’re about to violate their civil liberties as opposed to just walking up to them and putting their hands in our pockets. But for a civilian to just walk up on a Black person and start invading her personal space and property—nah, bruh, Asian Karen is lucky she didn’t catch Black hands.
“I was going to spend money with her but she decided to racially profile me,” Milan said as she filmed the cashier silently rummaging through her pockets and then walking away looking at her tablet like nothing happened.
“Only Black person in the store and you decided to check my pockets,” she said to the out-of-her-damn-mind cashier. “I’m the only Black person. And you dug your hands in my pockets.”
For whatever reason, the cashier repeatedly informs her racial profiling victim that “I’m Asian too” as if that has anything to do with the Black woman she just treated like a criminal on sight. Then the cashier dismissively said, “I’m sorry. I don’t care. I really don’t care.”
Yeah, we know you don’t, non-sis’, but a coalition of Yelp reviewers who weren’t here for anyone’s blatant racism did care.
“The owner said ‘I’m Asian too’ after discriminating against the only Black woman in the store, as if that’s any excuse or justification. Don’t spend your hard-earned money here. Disgusting behavior and I hope she realizes that what she did was wrong and illegal,” one Yelp review wrote, according to IBT.
Another user wrote, “The owner of the store is RACIST. An Asian woman who illegally searched a customer’s pockets and personal belongings with absolutely no probable cause other than she was black and the only black individual in the store. Complete violation and zero remorse afterwards claiming that she’s a minority as well.”
The page got bombarded with unflattering reviews and 1-star ratings before Yelp temporarily disabled users from leaving reviews on Hi Fashions’ page while the site admins “investigate the content.” The page currently has a Public Attention Alert.
It’s wild that in 2022, racists still don’t know how easily their livelihoods can be f***ed with when everyone has a camera in their pocket.
Meanwhile, all Black people can do is decline to spend our coins where we’re not wanted.
Brothers Kill Stepfather After Learning He Molested Their Sister; Man Had Active Child Sex Abuse Warrant
Social media calls for the vindication of two brothers and their friend who fatally beat their stepfather with brass knuckles for sexually abusing their sister.
Texas brothers Alejandro and Christian Trevino face a mountain of charges, and their friend, Juan Eduardo Melendez, who helped them orchestrate the killing of 42-year-old Gabriel Quintanilla.
Before his death, 18-year-old Alejandro and 17-year-old Christian confronted Quintanilla for molesting his 9-year-old daughter, who is their half-sister. A fight ensued, and Quintanilla attempted to flee on foot. Christian chased him down in a nearby apartment complex in Pharr, where he was assaulted again, this time with Alejandro and Melendez also beating him. The three teens left the location, switched cars, and drove back, where they discovered Quintanilla walking along the street, badly battered. They beat him up again and then loaded him in the back of a truck before dumping his body in the pasture. Authorities say he may have been alive when his body was discarded. A farmer discovered him on January 20th.
Police have confirmed that Quintanilla did have an active warrant for continuous sexual abuse of a child at the time of his death. His daughter told her mother and brothers about Quintanilla touching her inappropriately.
Christian Trevino and Melendez have been charged with capital murder, aggravated assault, and engaging in organized criminal activity. Alejandro Trevino is charged with engaging in organized criminal activity and aggravated assault.
