“This Is Us” Star Sterling K. Brown Covers November Issue of Men’s Health Magazine!
Sterling K. Brown, best known for his role as Randall in the hit series “This Is Us,” covers the November issue of Men’s Health. Inside, Sterling opens up about his goal to live to 100, how he coped with his father’s death, and about rejection and success in the acting world.
On his intensity in the gym: “Listen, I have friends that I will enlist to work out with me, and they’ll be like, Yo, Brown, you need to calm down. You know you’re 43 now. And I’m like, Yeah, age ain’t nothin’ but a number.”

On his exercise philosophy: “It’s easier to maintain a level of fitness than it is to lose it and try to get it back. You want to do enough that you feel like you’ve done something, but not so much that you don’t wanna do it again tomorrow. So it’s not about trying to kill yourself. It’s about trying to give yourself the inspiration to continue.”
On reacting to his father, Sterling, passing at age 45 from a diabetes-induced heart attack: “I just cried. I just cried. I miss him. Pops would’ve loved this stuff.” [referring to Sterling K. playing sports and his acting success] “Crying has never been a thing for me, like as a way to not be masculine, because my dad would watch a movie and it was just boo-fuckin’-hoo all the way through the whole thing. We would both be crying together, whether it was an animated movie or whatever. That was never forbidden or taboo. I was allowed to feel, because he felt.”
On how embracing his given name (Sterling K. went by his middle name, Kelby, until his mid-teens) became part of the grieving process: “Sterling always felt like an old man’s name because it was my old man’s name. But now it’s my name.”

On his goal to live to 100, given the fact that black men are in worse health than almost any other demographic in the U.S.: “I think when Pops passed, I had sort of a recognition of the fact that 45 was young…I just don’t want to give in to the statistical analysis that says that is my fate. So I try to do things as proactively as possible to ensure that I’m around to see my children’s children and be of value to them when they come into the world. There’s so much to live for, and I don’t want to sell myself short by thinking I don’t have a right to longevity and vitality any more or less than anyone else.”
On men taking a laissez-faire approach to their health: “Men want to suffer through stuff. It serves us in certain circumstances, and in others we leave well enough alone for too long. I mean, if we’re looking at something as simple as prostate cancer and being able to check oneself, and the sort of fear or discomfort that the community at large may experience due to good old-fashioned homophobia—there’s foolishness that keeps us from living our best lives.”

On how cultural health barriers can be overcome: “So many young black men are into sports. And then for whatever reason [as adults] they see sports as no longer being a part of their life. So when the sport is removed, the tenets for living a physically fit life aren’t necessarily in place. More of us have to learn how to carry the tenets that we learned that made us want to be competitive in that sport to just be competitive in life and maintain fitness. There are benefits beyond the game.”

On how initially, the idea of making a career out of acting was laughable: “I was always good with numbers. I was the AP Econ guy. I thought making money was it. I thought it [acting] was something that only people who didn’t have to make a contribution to their families were allowed to do. I gotta help.”
On landing his first role as the lead in a Stanford school production: “Even though I was spending another two or three hours a night memorizing lines, my grades got better. You know how the work is work but it doesn’t feel arduous? That’s something you have to pay attention to.”

On advice from teachers in his NYU drama grad program, who convinced him to stop lifting, shifting his focus on yoga and cardio: “My teachers told me to stop lifting weights. I was like, ‘What are you talking about?’ And they were like, ‘It’s gonna be hard for things to pass through you with all this musculature. So for emotion, for feelings to flow through, you have to be a vessel, a sieve, rather than something that is heavily armored.’”
On the black males who influenced him in his early theatre days: “There’s a wider breadth of who you can be onstage than was allowed on the camera. Denzel Washington, Sam Jackson, Delroy Lindo, Don Cheadle—all these dudes come from theater, and they weren’t jacked-up, crazy-looking dudes.”

On considering himself lucky to work regularly enough to pay the bills in his 20s: “At any point 90 percent of all the acting-union members are unemployed, and you’re just fighting to be part of the rotating 2 percent. There’s so much rejection that you have to be willing to deal with and let it sort of roll off your back. There are people I know who are absolutely brilliant who had to segue into something else in life.”
On support from his wife, actress Ryan Michelle Bathe: “Ryan celebrates my success. But sometimes it’s like, Damn, bro, when’s it my turn?”

On finding success in acting: “For such a long time, you’re waiting and hoping for these crumbs from the table of joy. Then all of a sudden people are like, What do you wanna do? What are you interested in? We wanna work with you!”

On how his own life has inspired plot lines for This Is Us: “I share things from my past that directly impact the way in which young Randall is written.”

On why he’s passionate about what he does: “I want to hopefully give you some sense of inspiration, either to make the world a better place or for you to be a better person. And so when I step into a theater, when I step on set, it is my sanctuary. It’s me and it’s not me. I’m a vessel for a story to be told, for a perspective to be illuminated.”

On launching his production company, Indiana Meadows: “Anytime you step into the unknown, there’s a degree of fear. But I do know that when the desire supersedes the fear, the momentum carries you forward.”

#RHOA: Cynthia Bailey Reveals Where She Stands with NeNe After Massive Fight OnSeason 11 Of ‘RHOA’!
Fans of ‘RHOA’ watched Cynthia Bailey and NeNe Leakes’ friendship crumble last season (11). Now, as they wait for chapter 12, Cynthia tells us where the two stand today, and how their relationship evolves in the coming season.

Where do they stand? Fans have watched The Real Housewives of Atlanta OG’s, Cynthia Bailey and NeNe Leakes go through countless ups and down throughout the show’s 11 seasons. If you’re all caught up, then you’ll know that when we left off last season (11), Cynthia and NeNe’s friendship, or lack there of, was not in a good place, whatsoever.
“The last time you saw us on TV we were in a really bad place,” Cynthia, 52, told HollywoodLife exclusively, in reference to her  season 11 rift with NeNe, 51. Fans will recall that the two butt heads on many occasions — one in particular which occurred at the end of season 11, when NeNe wasn’t happy that Cynthia invited Kenya Moore to her Seagrams party. “Season 12 was tough because we kind of stayed in that really bad place,” Cynthia admitted of the coming season, which premieres November 3 at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.

“Nonetheless, despite their season 12 blues, Cynthia said they made some headway in their rocky relationship. “I’m happy to say we’re in a better place [now]. We’re not in a great place. We’re not in the perfect place, but we are in a way better place by the time we get to the end of the season [12],” she teased of her current relationship with NeNe.
Although their friendship isn’t in an ideal place, Cynthia went on to explain that she’s gotten some piece of mind from the small progress they’ve made. “I definitely have personal closure at this point. I’m evolved and I feel conversations were had,” she said. “I feel I told my truth, and either you accept it or you don’t, but I’m good because there’s nothing else I can do.”
As for what else fans can expect to see in the new season? — For starters, Cynthia’s living her best life.
“I’m going to sum up season 12 with, I’m in a really great place. I’m really happy, I had fun this season,” she gushed, explaining, “When it was good, it was really good, and when it was a nightmare, it was a nightmare.”

She continued by teasing that fans will definitely see a new version of Cynthia in season 12. “This is Cynthia‘s happy and if you’re not bringing me happiness, then you can kiss my ass [season]. I’m not going for it. Like we’re gonna have fun or just leave me alone.”

#Empire: Gabourey Sidibe’s Dramatic Weight Loss has her Fans singing her Praises!
Gabby Sidibe has stepped out and shown out in her latest outfit, and fans are applauding her looks and ever-slimming-down frame.

The “Empire” actress wore a yellow and red African print dress to attend the birthday party of her pal and co-star Nicole Ari Parker this weekend. Perhaps feeling herself in her wear from the motherland, Sidibe played up her look by acting as if she were a gold-digging sugar baby.
“So sorry to hear of your great-granddaddy’s passing…. Might I have a copy of the certificate? I need it for the policy I took out on him….❤️,” read the caption of the Oct. 6 Instagram photo.
And fans eagerly celebrated Sidibe for her appearance.
“Congratulations sweetie on ur weight loss, I’m so PROUD of u, ur so beautiful, n side and outπŸ™πŸΎ
“Love your weight loss. Beautiful as always”
“Come through Gabby! You look amazing!”
“U lookin girl go go go get em girl!(n the dream voice) πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯
“You better do it Gabby!!”
“Hottttt πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

Fans initially began noticing Sidibe’s slimdown in 2016 as she posted a steady stream of Instagram selfies where her followers mentioned she looked smaller than before.
Sidibe has dropped the extra pounds in the three years since she underwent laparoscopic bariatric surgery. The actress, who shot to fame after starring in the 2009 drama “Precious,” opened up about why she chose to go under the knife in her memoir “This Is Just My Face: Try Not to Stare.”

Sidibe’s weight loss was not about vanity, either. She disclosed to People magazine that after losing the 60 pounds and gaining it all back before, the final straw in her weight loss journey was her older brother Ahmed’s Type 2 diabetes diagnosis.

“My surgeon said they’d cut my stomach in half,” she wrote about the preparations for the surgery in her book. “This would limit my hunger and capacity to eat. My brain chemistry would change and I’d want to eat healthier. I’ll take it! My lifelong relationship with food had to change. The surgery wasn’t the easy way out. I wasn’t cheating by getting it done. I wouldn’t have been able to lose as much as I’ve lost without it.”

“I just didn’t want to worry,” Sidibe said to People. “I truly didn’t want to worry about all the effects that go along with diabetes. I genuinely [would] worry all the time about losing my toes.”

#HipHopNews: Nas Is Tired Of "Illmatic" Nostalgia: "I'm Done"!
When Nas unleashed his debut album Illmatic in 1994, he could’ve never predicted the lasting impact it would have on Hip Hop culture. Twenty-five years later, the album is still one of the most revered pieces of Hip Hop music of all time.

But Nas has evidently had enough. During an interview with Haute Living, the celebrated MC admitted the nostalgia has worn thin.

“I’m tired of celebrating it,” he said. “I’m grateful, but it has started to take on a life of its own. I just did the 20th anniversary with the National Symphony Orchestra five years ago and, the next thing you know, five years go by and it’s a calendar that I didn’t ask for showing me how fast time moves.”
Nas also noted he performed another National Symphony Orchestra show this year to again commemorate Illmatic. While he’s appreciative his seminal album means so much to so many people, he has no plans to continue celebrating it.
“Twenty-five years is a lifetime,” he continued. “So I did another Symphony Orchestra show for Illmatic this year; I got another plaque for it. I’m very grateful — it’s so crazy — but to celebrate one album when I’ve made over 10, all the things I’ve worked on — and I’ve been working for so long — to celebrate one album over all else is corny to me.

“I don’t want to celebrate another Illmatic anything. I’m done. Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for appreciating that record, but it’s over.”

Nas’ latest album, The Lost Tapes 2, arrived in July.

After having a 'Very Tough Year' Wendy Williams Accepts Star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame!
As she accepted a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame on Thursday, the beloved talk show host couldn’t hold back the tears as she posed for photos with her 19-year-old son, Kevin Jr.
“He’s always encouraged me to keep it going,” she told PEOPLE at the ceremony. “And never asks me to pull back from anything that I say or that I wear or anything like that. He’s always been very encouraging.”

“So now, it’s just the two of us against the world,” added Williams, 55.
Along with thanking her son and the crew on The Wendy Williams Show, the host addressed her tumultuous year after splitting from her ex-husband Kevin Hunter in April. (At the end of August, Williams confirmed that she decided to divorce Hunter, her husband of 21 years, once she learned that he’d impregnated a woman with whom he was having an affair.)

“The elephant in the room is that I’ve been having a very, very tough year. But slowly but surely, I’m climbing out of the pit,” she told the crowd. “And this is one of those monumental days, that, you say, ‘if you don’t believe in yourself, who’s going to believe in you?’ “

“Sometimes life is a very, very lonely path,” she continued. “You just have to make some hard decisions.”
Williams also recognized that moving up in the entertainment business has proven to be a challenge, admitting that it’s “twice as tough” as a woman.
“I will recognize when it’s time to give up, but I’ve only been unemployed for two months out of 30-something years,” she said. “I’m not one to give up.”
Williams explained that when she transitioned from radio to television, “everyone was looking for the next Oprah,” but she knew she would make her own mark and build her own show.

“Everybody kind of squinted. It was just difficult to see the lone black girl on TV,” she told the crowd. “Oprah had just left and that’s all we could think about was the next Oprah. And I’m like, ‘No, I’m no Oprah.’ My spirit can’t sit in and talk about the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) all day.”
“I like to have fun,” she continued. “And 11 years later I still like to have fun. And when I don’t like to have fun, you’ll see those double doors open. I’m still having fun doing this.”
The “king of all radio” Elvis Duran — as Williams described him — presented the New Jersey-born star with the award.

“She gives us the courage to share our opinions,” he said on stage. “We learn from you. You know what, sometimes we live in a world where people don’t agree with everything you say. Fine, but I have a right to say what I want to say and I gotta tell you, you have swayed a lot of people your direction and your opinions. Everyone loves you.”
Earlier this month, Williams said she couldn’t “breathe” as she reminded her fans of the big day.

“Here’s the thing. It’ll be the — and we’ve counted it down to set the 2677th star,” Williams said. “Now in the bigger scheme of Hollywood, I would have thought that there were way more than that. I mean, have you ever walked out? Have you ever been outside and on the sidewalk and walk that? Like I’ve walked it before. It just seems impossible.”
Williams added that she was excited to get her star in “a good neighborhood” next to Ryan Murphy and Jason Bateman, adding that “you don’t want to be in the way dead zone [with] people who have been dead for 100 years.”
On the show, she announced that Duran and FOX Television Stations CEO Jack Abernethy would speak on her behalf.
“I wanted to get some heavy hitters, man,” she said. ”So I reached out, like on a wing and a prayer. And I’m glad they both said yes.”
Williams invited her fans to “please report to the dance floor of the star” to celebrate the recognition.

“I want to feel it. Feel it. Feel it,” she said.
The New Jersey native has been in media for over 30 years. Recently, The Wendy Williams Show was extended through 2022. Williams has been nominated as outstanding entertainment talk show host four times at the Daytime Emmys, while the show itself has received nods twice.
Before joining the small screen, Williams hosted her radio show “The Wendy Williams Experience” for 23 years, reaching an audience of over 12 million people. She’s also made appearances on 30 Rock, Dancing with the Stars and hosted the Game Show Network’s Love Triangle.

Along with TV and radio hosting, Williams has written seven books. She’s also developing a documentary and biopic for Lifetime about her ascent from radio to television.

Elton John Calls Out Tina Turner’s Alleged Diva Behavior In The 90s ‘I’ve Thrown Plenty Of Tantrums In My Time, But There Are Limits’!
Elton John’s memoir “Me” is one for the books. He had no trouble coming for his fellow icons Michael Jackson (read about that here) and Tina Turner.
In an excerpt from the memoir that was released on Oct. 15, John details his experience of going on tour with the “Proud Mary” singer in 1997.
He first described how he was optimistic about going on tour with Turner, but that changed after Turner allegedly tried to come for John before the tour even began.
“The idea of doing a joint tour with Tina Turner in 1997 was a nice idea that quickly turned into a disaster.

While it was at the planning stage, she rang me up at home, apparently with the express intention of telling me how awful I was and how I had to change before we could work together.

She didn’t like my hair, she didn’t like the colour of my piano, and she didn’t like my clothes. ‘You wear too much Versace, and it makes you look fat — you have to wear Armani,’ she announced. I could hear poor old Gianni turning in his grave at the very idea: the houses of Versace and Armani cordially hated each other. Armani said Versace made really vulgar clothes, and Gianni thought Armani was unbelievably beige and boring.”

And according to John, that was just the beginning of a downward spiral for him and Turner.
“Incredibly, our working relationship got worse. In rehearsals, Tina wouldn’t address any of the musicians in my band by name — she just pointed and bellowed ‘Hey, you!’ We started playing Proud Mary. It sounded great. Tina stopped the song, unhappy. ‘It’s you,’ she shouted, pointing at my bass player, Bob Birch. ‘You’re doing it wrong.’ He assured her he wasn’t and we started the song again. Once more, Tina yelled for us to stop. This time, it was supposed to be my drummer’s fault.”

Interestingly enough, she took her blame from his drummer to John himself. Which, of course, made what was left of their working relationship take a turn for the worst.
“It went on like this for a while, every member of the band being accused of messing up in turn, until Tina finally discovered the real source of the problem.
This time, her finger was pointed in my direction. ‘It’s you! You’re not playing it right!’

The subsequent debate about whether I knew how to play Proud Mary became quite heated, before I brought it to a conclusion by telling Tina Turner to stick her f*****g song up her a**e and stormed off. I’ve thrown plenty of tantrums in my time, but there are limits: there’s an unspoken rule that musicians don’t treat their fellow musicians like s***.”

John then suggested that the ups and downs of Turner’s career and personal life (including being a victim of domestic violence by the hands of her then-husband Ike Turner), caused her to be insecure and lash out at others.
“Maybe it was insecurity on her part. She’d been treated appallingly earlier in her career, suffered years and years of being ripped off, beaten up and pushed around. Maybe that had an effect on how she behaved towards people.
I went to her dressing-room and apologised. She told me that the problem was that I was improvising too much — adding in little fills and runs on the piano.

That’s how I’ve always performed — it’s part of what I love about playing live. But Tina didn’t think that way. Everything had to be exactly the same every time; it was all rehearsed down to the slightest movement.”
While they weren’t the best fit for what could have been an iconic tour, they were later able to settle their differences.
“That made it obvious the tour wasn’t going to work, although we made up later: she came for dinner and left a big lipstick kiss in the visitors’ book.”

Do you think Elton John should have called out Tina Turner?

Frank Ocean Hits Back At Criticism Over His Queer Club Night PrEP+!
Frank Ocean's first installment of his new queer club night in New York City called PrEP+ featured new music from the elusive R&B luminary. However, that wasn't enough to please some attendees, who were quick to criticize the invite-only event as one sponsored by Gilead, the company that produces the drug, its security and even general theme. While Thursday night (October 17) was meant to portray a world where the HIV/AID preventative drug had existed in the 1980s, Ocean took to his Tumblr to explain his vision.

To kick things off, Ocean went straight to the point, declaring that the event was funded by "Blonded, independently" and not Gilead. "Club culture around late 70s and 80s nightlife in NYC was a special, much talked about and written about thing. From the star studded midtown clubs like studio 54 and the first danceteria to the downtown clubs like Mudd + paradise garage. The figures, the music, the looks, the lack of regulation haha," he wrote in the lengthy message. "I recognize NY wasn’t all lasers and disco lighting and that simultaneously, there was a lot of crime and poverty and that a huge part of club culture, the gay community, at that time were being wiped out by HIV + AIDS."

Ocean went on to deem the pricing strategy behind the pill "malicious," admitting "that despite price being a very real barrier to this potentially life saving drug for some, the other very real barrier is awareness." The singer continued his note, explaining that he wanted to name the night after the drug because so may folks still don't know what it is. "A couple days before we threw the party, I was discussing this subject with my team and one of the architects I work with thought that PrEP as a drug had reached '100% saturation' so far as awareness," he continued. "I thought he was dead wrong so I asked a friend (who I won’t name haha) if he knew what PrEP was and his response was ‘isn’t that some type of viagra or something’. My ex who I was with for several years didn’t know about it when we first met at a gay club in LA. Awareness isn’t always what we’d hope it would be."

As for those who thought the night was simply a publicity stunt, Ocean had some words to share. "Bitch pls come get a drink next time and I’ll put several barstools out so you can have as many seats as you need," he concluded the note.

While the no photography or video rule was made crystal clear, a few snippets of Ocean’s new music still arrived via the blogosphere and heard the star dip his toes into "spacier, club ready" territory, as per Brooklyn Vegan. While the location of the party was a secret, the festivities ended up going down at the the techno club, Basement, which is part of the Queens' Knockdown Center. Outside of new Ocean music, Bouffant Bouffant, Sango, Justice and Sherelle also treated the crowd to DJ sets.

Lady Gaga Needed Her 'Entire Body' X-Rayed After Falling Off Stage!
Lady Gaga is feeling "OK" after falling off stage a few days ago. On Friday (October 18), the pop star provided a health update on how she’s doing after suffering a nasty spill during her Las Vegas residency show, Enigma, last night. In one post, the “Born This Way” musician shares an image of her hand under an X-ray machine, informing fans that she’s been cleared by doctors despite tumbling off the stage during Thursday’s show (October 17) at the Park Theater at Park MGM.
"When they have to X-Ray almost your entire body...Just Dance. Gonna be okπŸ‘Œ," the 33-year-old captioned the X-ray image, assuring fans she was doing all right. In a previous post-performance post, Gaga showed an image of herself recovering from the incident with an ice bath., writing, ”Post show routine: ice bath for 5-10 min, hot bath for 20, then compression suit packed with ice packs for 20.”

In case you missed it, the tumble transpired after Gaga invited a fan onstage at the gig to join in on her performance. Apparently, the man she welcomed to take the stage with her attempted to pick her up as they were dancing until he lost his balance, sending them both over the stage.
While the accident sounds as painful as it looked on camera, per fan-shot videos, Gaga was back on her feet in no time to complete the remainder of the show.

Felicity Huffman spotted in green prison uniform in first photos since sentencing!
Khaki green is the new orange for Felicity Huffman — at least until she’s sprung a week from Sunday.
These exclusive first prison photos show the previously glamorous former “Desperate Housewives” star in drab captivity on Saturday at the Federal Correctional Institution in Dublin, Calif.

She’s serving out a 14-day sentence for her role in the national college admissions scandal.
Huffman pleaded guilty in May to paying admissions-fixing mastermind Rick Singer $15,000 to hike the SAT scores of Sophia Grace, her daughter with actor husband William H. Macy.
In the snaps, Huffman, 56, wears sneakers and a prison-issue blouse and pants, with her hair bundled under a plain white baseball cap, as she walks between buildings on family visiting day.

Her blouse bears a white tag marked with her name and inmate number,  77806-112.
She’s wearing prescription glasses and what may be a watch or monitoring bracelet on her right wrist — and a care-worn expression.
Macy, her husband of 22 years, came to visit Saturday with the couple’s younger daughter, Georgia, 17.
Huffman is one of some 1,230 inmates at the all-female, minimum security facility in northern California, located east of San Francisco. It’s the closest minimum security jail to the family’s Los Angeles home.
Huffman is a short-timer at the lockup, where the average stay is five years. She reported to the facility on Oct. 15, and is set to be released on Oct. 27.
Notable previous inmates there include “Hollywood Madam Heidi Fleis (who served 20 months ending in 1998) and publishing heiress-turned-terrorist Patricia Hearst (who served 21 months until President Jimmy Carter commuted her seven-year sentence in 1979.)

Huffman and actress Lori Loughlin are the most high-profile parents ensnared in the admissions scandal.
Loughlin, 55, and her fashion-designer hubby, Mossimo Giannulli, have pleaded not guilty to charges they forked over $500,000 to bribe their two daughters’ way into the University of Southern California as bogus rowing recruits. Their trials are expected to begin in 2020.

LisaRaye Says Duane Martin Encouraged Her Ex-Husband To Cheat On Her!
Nicole Murphy was not the only person who reportedly played a part in dissolving LisaRaye's marriage to former chief minister of the Turks and Caicos, Michael Misick. According to the actress, her former All of Us co-star Duane Martin also got close to Misick with the intent on ruining their marriage.
In a recently released teaser from her forthcoming episode of TV One's Uncensored, LisaRaye — along with her mentor Lynn Jeter and friend Kym Whitley — explained how the actor introduced women to her husband in hope that he would cheat.

"As my reign as First Lady [of Turks and Caicos] became busier and busier and I found my position, then he was doing a lot more traveling by himself. And I was staying home, speaking at a school or having an appearance or something," she prefaced her story. "And [claps hands] really, to be quite honest, then he became friends with Duane Martin, which used to be one of my friends on All of Us. When I introduced them, that was one of the worst things I ever did."
The actress explained that "somehow within that relationship, I lost my husband to Duane Martin and they became better friends than what me and my husband did and I couldn't understand that for the love of God."

Whitley echoed her sentiment, adding that while Martin "was her brother, best friend," he "went dirty on her."
"He became disrespectful with introducing my husband to different women and women that we actually knew as friends and associates," LisaRaye added. "Yes, you know my dirt as my brother, my friend. But you my friend. I introduced you to him. What are you doing? I’m still kind of confused about that one."
The clip ended with the Players Club star sharing where she and Martin stand today: "Needless to say, me and Duane don't f**k with each other at all. F**k him. F**k him."

LisaRaye's episode of Uncensored airs on Sunday, October 20, at 9:00 p.m. ET on TV One.

Nick Young Said He Turned Down A Shot At Rihanna Because He Was With Iggy Azalea!
#NickYoung said he tried to get at #Rihanna but missed his shot because of his ex #IggyAzalea.
The Los Angeles Lakers player says he saw Rih at one of his games back in 2014 but decided to stay faithful to his relationship with the pop star. During an interview with the “Certified Buckets” podcast, Young said he was ready to put on a show for Rih Rih. “I had a good game, so [the reporters] asked me why … and I said, you know, Rihanna was there.”

Young says the shout out caught the attention of the Fenty owner, who he claims ended up DM’ing him later that day. The player said he couldn’t go through with the potential fling because he was committed to Azalea. “She hit me back, but I couldn’t go full throttle with it because I was like, in the beginning stages of my relationship with [Iggy].”

The hosts of the podcasts immediately blurted out in confusion. “Wrong one, man,” Sarunas J. Jackson, “You coulda been King of Barbados! You could have been first man of Barbados right now!” Nick replied, “I think I did pretty good, though. It worked out for a little bit.”

The publication detailed the role of Wayans, who will play Ted White, Franklin’s first husband, whom she married when she was 19 and endured a volatile relationship with.
McDonald will stand as her mother. Sengbloh will play her elder sister, Erma, while Kilgore will play her sister Carolyn.
Blige will play Dinah Washington, as Burgess plays Reverend Dr. James Cleveland and Marlon as the legendary Atlantic Records music producer Jerry Wexler, according to reports.

Turner, who also was cast as Young Anna Mae in Tina: The Tina Turner Musical on Broadway will play young Aretha.
“I am thrilled with the incredibly talented cast we have assembled for our film, and I’m so proud that Ms. Franklin entrusted us to tell her story and to share it with the world,” Tommy says of her cast. “As a storyteller, hers is the kind of story we all dream of telling. Her music has inspired me since I was a little girl, and the milestones of her life and career have shown us all how to strive and thrive. To have this powerhouse group of actors, and the phenomenal talent of Jennifer Hudson in this iconic role, means we have the chance of making this film as transcendent as her glorious life and legacy.”

Producers will be Tradecrafts’ Scott Bernstein (Straight Outta Compton) and Harvey Mason Jr., a music producer who has worked with both Hudson and the late great Aretha Franklin.
Featured songs will be “Respect,” “I Say a Little Prayer,” “Think,” “(You Make Me Feel Like A) Natural Woman,” “You’ve Got a Friend,” “Dr. Feelgood,” “Do Right Woman, Do Right Man,” “Spanish Harlem” and “Young, Gifted and Black.” Others will be, “Ain’t No Way;” “Precious Lord,” “There’s a Fountain Filled With Blood,” “Amazing Grace” and “Chain of Fools.”

The Hollywood Reporter adds Jonathan Glickman and Adam Rosenberg are overseeing the project on behalf of the MGM studio.

Chrisette Michele Opens Up About Her Divorce “I Think I Got Married To Try Adulting On For Size.”!
In 2016, after we learned that a businessman turned reality tv star would be our president, many of us were hurt, to say the least. We were angry, disappointed and confused. And the thought that someone we had supported would embrace the new president was unconscionable. So when Chrisette Michele performed at one of the balls for Donald Trump’s inauguration, Black folks across this country swiftly canceled her.

And they were loud about it. Fast forward a couple of years later, artists and entertainers associate even more closely with Trump than Chrisette did and somehow they’ve never left the good graces of Black people. (See: Steve Harvey, Jim Brown and most famously Kanye West.)

Smells like sexism. For the past several years, Chrisette’s name has been tied to her decision to sing at that event. But in that time, she’s lived quite a bit of life. She got married, had a miscarriage (spawned she believed by the stress of the inauguration drama), was dropped from her record label and in a recent blog post, she revealed the reasons why she got a divorce from her manager turned husband Doug “Biggs” Ellison.

Check out a few excerpts from the post below.
“Aston Martin Music drops. I’m in LA, a small-time millionaire, Grammy award winning, and happily dating “grown ups” but… I’m a child. A very successful… kid. Aaaaand, it literally never occurred to me that I’d missed a step until… Wedding Bells in Vegas (circa: 2016-2018). I walked down the aisle to “Love You Like A Love Song”, a techno club record TOTALLY meant for high heeled, couch dancing at LIV in Miami (or maybe Lavo in Vegas). Childish.

I’m divorced now. I think I got married to try adulting on for size. Didn’t fit. My ex had latched onto the idea that adulting was a “thing”, and I’d never gotten the memo. Sure I brought home fairly large slabs of bacon, made up the bed and opened a few businesses but… it wasn’t until after we divorced that I realized he had the intentions of living in the same city, raising small opinionated beasts who would grow IN MY STOMACH, and eating at the same restaurant every Sunday.

Apparently this soul quelling idea is called … “settling down”. Eeek… I just threw up in my mouth a little.
One of my girlfriends text me. She said, “I’m still hoping for magic for you.” She was talking about love. I wanted to say, “Is it ok for a woman not to be thinking about marriage for the same amount of time as any given man?”. I wanted to ask, “Is it enough for me to love traveling, meeting new people and long lavish walks thru Whole Foods?”. Am I “not grown-up”, if I’m not constantly wondering about love and a home for 2? To avoid experiencing normal “Yes I’m Judging You” thoughts from my home gurl, I said, “I’m not pressed”. To recreate my whole existence to fit into someone else’s? And then be stuck in one place forever? Yeah. No. Not right now.

Ok, ok, ok. In all seriousness, maybe someone will sweep me off my feet. Maybe I’ll be SHOCKED into a Couple of Forevers. My love language is touch and I love to cuddle. Love is…nice. I’m open minded. I’ll try new things… but ummm… it’s quite likely too late that I’ll ever grow up. I skipped over that part of my twenties and I’m not sure you ever get that back. I’m “humaning” (stole that ”word” from a pal). This is MY human experience. I’m patient enough to watch my life unfold, trust God to forgive, reveal and restore and move forward. I fall. I get embarrassed. I stay at moms, eat good, then take my vitamins and get back out there. Am I “on the market”? You can’t buy me. Am I “single”? I’m complete. Loving me is complicated, mostly because I’m content. Kids don’t love people because they have a nice house and diamonds. Kids love people because they smile, laugh at their jokes, spend time on the couch and at the movies. I’m a kid that way… don’t need anything but the simple, beautiful, present human.”

Barneys may double store footprint with $271M investment plan!
Barneys could double its store footprint next year if a $271 million stalking-horse bid to acquire the luxury department store is approved in bankruptcy court next week.

Licensing firm Authentic Brands Group, whose $271 million offer was approved by Barneys lenders on Wednesday, plans to launch 41 Barneys stores inside of Saks stores across the US and Canada, according to sources with knowledge of the plans.
The new “Barneys at Saks” stores would not be small either — ranging in size from 10,000 to 50,000 square feet.

Barneys had 22 stores when it filed for bankruptcy protection on Aug. 6 and had announced plans to close 14 of its stores.
“The point is that Barneys will have many more locations than it’s had,” a source told The Post.
ABG, which owns 50 brands, including Frederick’s of Hollywood and Juicy Couture, also plans to open a new, free-standing Barneys in Greenwich, Conn., sources said. And it aims to maintain several existing Barneys stores, including its flagship Manhattan store on Madison Avenue — if it can renegotiate leases at those locations, sources said.
Saks Fifth Avenue, which has a licensing deal with ABG, could also convert some of its stores to Barneys, according to the sources.

Before moving forward with its plan, ABG’s $271 million offer needs to prove the top bid at next week’s bankruptcy auction. Barneys is hoping that trade show executive Sam Ben-Avraham will be able to beat ABG because his plan to acquire Barneys along with some existing stores would guarantee they remain open.
If ABG wins, it will keep Barneys’ top seven performing stores open through the holidays, sources say. ABG could also keep open Barneys’ flagship store on Madison Avenue, its store in Beverly Hills, and a Boston store if it can negotiate better lease terms with landlords.

ABG has already told the landlord at the Beverly Hills location that it would agree to pay the newly increased rent at that store, according to a source with knowledge of the discussions.

Kanye West Sunday Service Trademark Has been Rejected!
Kanye West may have to look for another name for his latest incarnation after his Sunday Service trademark request is rejected...
According to reports Kanye's request was denied because the trademark was already registered back in 2014 by a person who owns an event planning company.

Kanye, who was registering the trademark for merchandise and music, may contest the decision.
