Sam Smith for Attitude Magazine - November 2019!
Sam Smith is reflecting on their journey of self discovery. The 27-year-old Grammy winner stepped out in a lace, emerald-green outfit as they arrived at the 2019 Attitude Awards on Wednesday (October 9) at The Roundhouse on Wednesday (October 9) in London, England.
During the event, Sam was honored with the publication’s 2019 Person of the Year award and took to the stage to give an emotional speech about their journey as coming out as non-binary and genderqueer.
“This is incredibly overwhelming,” Sam said. “Thank you so much to everyone in this room. Tonight, just watching all of you has just been amazing, and I’m so honored to be in this room with you all.”
Sam then went on to say that 2019 has felt like “a wild ride of self-realization, and has almost felt like a second coming out.”
#RHOA: Save The Date! Cynthia Bailey and FiancΓ© Mike Hill Reveal Their Wedding Date!
Real Housewives Of Atlanta star Cynthia Bailey is looking forward to forever with sportscaster Mike Hill. In a sweet new post, the couple revealed that their roughly one year away from saying “I Do.” With the planning underway, the pair, who affectionately nicknamed themselves “Chill,” announced that their wedding will be on October 10, 2020.
In a recent Instagram photo, Bailey and Hill hold hands in matching black t-shirts and jeans. “This time & day next year 10/10/20, I will officially be Mrs. Cynthia Denise Bailey-Hill!,” the model shared with her followers, adding the hashtags “#CHill #2020 #headoverhillswedding #letschill.”
The couple became engaged back in July at the opening of her new business, the Bailey Wine Cellar. The proposal was reportedly filmed for season 12 of the popular reality series, which airs next month. It has not been confirmed whether or not the wedding will air on RHOA. However, it would be a fitting choice since Bailey debuted the relationship on season 10.
Bailey has previously vowed never to marry again after divorcing ex-husband Peter Thomas in 2017. However, in a previous video interview with ESSENCE, Bailey explains how she came to have a change of heart. “When I first started going through my divorce process, there were times where [I thought] I will never put myself through this,” she said. “But then everyone got mad at me including Steve Harvey that got me together. So my choice now is, I’m always looking for love. If that love ends up being a marriage and if that’s God’s will, I’ll get married again.”
We just know Ms. Bailey will make one beautiful bride!
#Empire: Did 'Empire' Stars Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard Ever Date in Real Life?
Empire actors Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard were first introduced together as the music power couple we never knew we needed in the cult classic, Hustle and Flow.
The two have since starred in several movies together before landing the roles of Cookie and Lucious Lyon, and their on-screen chemistry is undeniable. Did Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard ever date in real life?
Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard have worked together several times
Even though Howard made his film debut in 1993 and Henson made hers five years later, the two didn’t work together until the cult classic Hustle and Flow drama, which premiered on July 22, 2005.
Howard starred as the disgruntled pimp and drug dealer, DJay, who wants to begin making music with Henson’s character, a pregnant prostitute named Shug, his love interest who sings the hooks.
They appeared in another movie together, the late John Singleton’s Four Brothers, which premiered only a month later, and the straight-to-DVD film, Animal, which was released on October 4, 2005.
They also starred in action-drama Term Life together in 2016; however, the movie generated mostly negative reviews. Currently in its sixth and final season, the two star opposite each other as Lucious and Cookie Lyon on Fox’s Empire.
While the Hustle and Flow stars again convincingly act as love interests, Empire is the last time viewers can see their on-screen connection because Howard has announced he is retiring from acting.
Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard’s partners
In 1994, Henson gave birth to her son, Marcell Johnson, as a senior in college. Her high school sweetheart and the father of her child, William Lamar Johnson, was killed in a car accident in 2003.
She has since been romantically linked to a few celebrities, including singer Tyrese Gibson, actor Hill Harper, rapper Common, basketball player Lamar Odom, rapper Drake, and actor Michael Ealy. Henson began dating former NFL star Kelvin Hayden in 2016 and the couple is currently happily engaged.
Howard married his first wife, Lori McCommas, in 1989, and they welcomed three children together, Aubrey, Heaven, and Hunter. They officially divorced in 2007, and he married Michelle Ghent three years later.
The couple divorced in 2013, and later that year, Howard wed his third wife, Mira Pak. They have two children together, Qirin Love and Hero. Although the couple separated in 2015, Howard proposed to her in December 2018, and they seem to be still engaged.
Did Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard ever date in real life?
In a 2015 interview, Henson said when she received the script for Cookie, she asked that Howard play Lucious because they “have a deep love that can’t be explained.”
However, the couple never attempted a romantic relationship, and Howard said it’s because he realized Henson didn’t have romantic feelings for him while they filmed Hustle and Flow.
He explained the two are more like “father and daughter, mother and son, brother and sister” as opposed to lovers. Even though the Empire actors have amazing on-screen chemistry, it’s a testament to their incredible acting skills because there’s never been, and probably never will be, a romantic relationship between the two.

#HipHopNews: Hot 97 To Reportedly Ban Tekashi 6ix9ine's Upcoming Music!
NEW YORK, NY – Tekashi 6ix9ine may be plotting a comeback, but it might not be as simple as he thinks. According to TMZ, the currently incarcerated rapper has lost the support of one of New York City’s biggest Hip Hop radio stations — Hot 97.
A Hot 97 executive reportedly said when 6ix9ine is released from prison, the station likely won’t play any of his new songs and doesn’t “anticipate” supporting his music at all.
The exec reportedly wasn’t a fan to begin with and 6ix9ine’s role as government star witness in the case against alleged Nine Trey gang members Anthony “Harv” Ellison and Aljermiah “Nuke” Mack has made his reputation with the station worse.
6ix9ine has been behind bars since last November. During his testimony last month, he admitted he’d agreed to cooperate with the feds only one day after his arrest in hopes of a lighter sentence. Although he was originally facing at least 47 years in prison, his cooperation could get him out as soon as early 2020.
The rap community is not amused. Snoop Dogg, The Game and Ice-T are among the many who have criticized the 23-year-old for “snitching.”
6ix9ine is expected to be sentenced on December 18.
Fort Worth police officer who fatally shot Atatiana Jefferson charged with murder!
The Fort Worth, Texas, police officer who fatally shot a woman babysitting her nephew over the weekend has been charged with murder. Aaron Dean was booked into the Tarrant County Corrections Center and later released on a $200,000 bond, according to jail officials.
Fort Worth police Sgt. Chris Daniels acknowledged the outrage that the killing of Atatiana Jefferson, 28, has sparked.
"To the citizens and residents of our city, we feel and understand your anger and your disappointment, and we stand by you as we work together to make Fort Worth a better place for us all,” he said.

The arrest came just hours after Dean's resignation from the police force. Interim police Chief Ed Kraus said during a press conference earlier that he intended to end Officer Aaron Dean's employment, but that Dean tendered his resignation first.
Dean, who joined the department in April 2018, still faces possible civil rights violations, Kraus said.
"Had the officer not resigned, I would have fired him for violations for several policies, including our use of force policy, our de-escalation policy and unprofessional conduct," Kraus added.
Dean was initially placed on administrative leave after he shot Jefferson to death. He has not been cooperating with investigators in the case, Kraus said.
It wasn't clear if Dean has a lawyer. The Fort Worth Police Officers Association did not immediately respond to a request for a comment.
A lawyer for Jefferson's family, Lee Merritt, said her relatives were "relieved" over the arrest.
"We need to see this through to a vigorous prosecution & appropriate sentencing," he tweeted. "The City of Fort Worth has much work to do to reform a brutal culture of policing."
In a separate news conference earlier Monday, Jefferson's family demanded an outside investigation into her death.
"This man murdered someone," Darius Carr, Jefferson's brother, told reporters.
Kraus brought the case to the Texas Rangers, who he said were not inclined to take it up at that point, and to the FBI, which did not immediately say whether it would review it.
Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price said she was "heartbroken" by the killing and said she asked City Manager David Cooke to hire a third-party panel of national experts to review the city's police department — "everything from top to bottom."
"This is a pivotal moment in our city, and we will act swiftly with transparency," she wrote in an open letter to the community.
Jefferson was playing video games with her nephew early Saturday morning when a neighbor noticed the front door of the house ajar. Concerned, the neighbor called the Fort Worth police department's nonemergency line to request a wellness check.
Body camera shows that when police arrived, an officer shined a flashlight through Jefferson's window and yelled, "Put your hands up — show me your hands," before firing a single shot at Jefferson seconds later.
Merritt called the Fort Worth police department's response to the situation "absurd" and said he was asking the U.S. Department of Justice to "come in and take a conscious look at the policies and procedures that allow something like this to happen."
The response to the wellness check by Fort Worth police, Merritt added, was "the equivalent of SWAT" — involving several officers "prowling" around the property before opening fire without ever identifying themselves as police.
The killing comes less than two weeks after Amber Guyger, a former police officer in nearby Dallas, was convicted of murder for fatally shooting a man in his home that she mistook for her own last year. In both instances, the officer is white and the victim was black.
Jefferson was staying at her mother's house in Fort Worth to help her recover from an injury when the shooting happened at about 2:25 a.m. Saturday.
Merritt said she had been playing video games with her 8-year-old nephew and lost track of time. Earlier that night, he said, the family had opened the front door to allow crisp fall air inside to cool down the house.
The Fort Worth Police Department quickly released bodycam footage from the shooting. The video did not include the interior of the house, except to show a blurry image of the gun officers found after the shooting. Lt. Brandon O'Neil declined to answer questions about why police released the images of the gun; in her open letter Monday, Price called the gun "irrelevant."
Jefferson's family described her as an ambitious and kind person, with a college degree in biology who wanted to further her education.
Jefferson was "simply going on along with her life, living a law-abiding citizen's peaceful life, and she was killed by a reckless act of a Fort Worth police officer," an older sister, Ashley Carr, said. "There is simply no justification for his actions."
The Fort-Worth Police Department has come under scrutiny in the past. This year alone, there have been at least four other fatal police shootings involving officers; in three of those cases, police said the suspect was armed, but in the fourth, it was later discovered the man who was shot was holding a flashlight, not a weapon.
"I want to go ahead and dispel the myth that this is somehow a one-off, that this is just a bad luck incident from an otherwise sound department," Merritt said. "Fort Worth is one of the deadliest police departments in the United States. They are in need of serious systematic reform."
Jefferson's death prompted outrage in Fort Worth and across social media.
"This life mattered. This family matters. And we're demanding justice," Cory Hughes, a local activist, said Monday.
Amber Carr, Jefferson's sister and the mother of the boy who Jefferson was with when she was killed, said her son was helping her to stay strong.
"He's my motivation. He's my biggest encourager. In the middle of the night, when I'm crying, he tells me to breathe through my nose and out my mouth," she said. "He holds me, he hugs me."
In her letter, Price apologized on behalf of the city to Jefferson's family, and said, "To Atatiana's nephew, who has witnessed an unspeakable loss — sorry doesn't really cut it. This entire city needs to surround him with prayers, support and anything his family needs."
Netflix & Ava DuVernay Sued Over “When They See Us” By Police Interrogation Firm!
Netflix and “When They See Us” creator Ava Duvernay are reportedly facing a lawsuit. The streaming service and director/producer are being sued over the scene surrounding the police interrogation technique depicted in the film.
The scene takes place in the fourth episode of the series. A character confronts NYPD detective Michael Sheehan with allegations that he coerced a confession out of the five original defendants, who were later exonerated.
The company behind a controversial police interrogation technique filed the federal lawsuit. They claim that it was defamed by the series.
John E. Reid and Associates developed the Reid Technique and they claim that it is the most widely used interrogation method by police agencies worldwide. But critics have alleged that its approach can result in false confessions.
The lawsuit claims that this dialogue mischaracterizes the Reid Technique. The suit states,
“Defendants intended to incite an audience reaction against Reid for what occurred in the Central Park Jogger Case and for the coercive interrogation tactics that continue to be used today. Defendants published the statements in ‘When They See Us’ in an effort to cause a condemnation of the Reid Technique.”
Netflix and DuVernay are being sued for defamation. The suit alleges that the series has damaged the company’s reputation, and seeks actual and punitive damages. The suit also seeks an injunction barring Netflix from distributing the series in its current form, and a disgorgement of Netflix’s profits from the show.
When They See Us is a is a television miniseries created, co-written, and directed by Ava DuVernay for Netflix, that premiered in four parts on May 31, 2019. It is based on events of the 1989 Central Park jogger case and explores the lives and families of the five male suspects who were prosecuted on charges related to the rape and assault of a woman in Central Park, New York City. The series features an ensemble cast, including Jharrel Jerome, Asante Blackk, Jovan Adepo, Michael K. Williams, Logan Marshall-Green, Joshua Jackson, Blair Underwood, Vera Farmiga, John Leguizamo, Felicity Huffman, Niecy Nash, Aunjanue Ellis, Marsha Stephanie Blake, and Kylie Bunbury. When They See Us received acclaim for its performances and casting.

Zoe Kravitz Cast as Catwoman in Matt Reeves’ ‘The Batman’!
Zoe Kravitz has been cast as Selina Kyle, a.k.a. Catwoman, in Matt Reeves’ “The Batman,” Robert Pattinson will play the Dark Knight in the upcoming Warner Bros. film. Reeves and Mattson Tomlin wrote the screenplay, and the film is being produced by Reeves and Dylan Clark. Michael E. Uslan is executive producing. It is set to start filming in January in the U.K.4
Reeves took over as director after Ben Affleck stepped away from both that position and as the film’s star, saying that he would be hanging up the cape for good. Reeves has since described the film as a “defining” and “very personal” story about the Dark Knight, rather than an origin story in the vein of Frank Miller’s beloved “Year One” series.
Jonah Hill was most recently reported to have been talks to play The Riddler, while Jeffrey Wright was in negotiations to star as Commissioner Gordon.
“The Batman” will be released on June 25, 2021.
Actor Cuba Gooding Jr pleads not guilty to pinching woman's buttocks in club!
Actor Cuba Gooding Jr. pleaded not guilty on Tuesday to pinching a woman’s buttocks in a nightclub last October, four months after he was charged with groping a woman in a separate incident.
Manhattan prosecutors said Gooding pinched the woman at Manhattan’s Tao nightclub after making a sexually suggestive remark to her earlier in the evening, and denied it when she confronted him.
Gooding was accused in June of touching a woman’s breasts at the Magic Hour Rooftop Bar in Manhattan, a charge he has denied. Both alleged incidents are part of the same criminal case.
He is charged with one count of forcible touching and one count of sexual abuse, which are misdemeanors, in connection with each alleged incident.
Gooding, 51, won a best supporting actor Oscar in 1997 for the film “Jerry Maguire” and is known for roles in movies including “A Few Good Men” and “The Butler” and in the television miniseries “The People v. O.J. Simpson.”
Prosecutors said at a hearing in Manhattan Supreme Court on Tuesday that they hope to establish a pattern of behavior at Gooding’s trial using testimony from 12 additional women who have said they were subjected to unwanted touching and advances by the actor in bars and clubs. No criminal charges have been brought in connection with those women.
Mark Heller, Gooding’s attorney, told reporters outside the courthouse on Tuesday that he would seek to have the two alleged groping incidents tried separately. Heller expressed confidence that his client would not be convicted, and said prosecutors had brought the new indictment because they were not ready to go to trial with their original case.
Gooding had been scheduled to go to trial on the original charges on Thursday, but the additional charges mean the trial will be delayed. No new trial date has been set.
Gooding, who is divorced, is one of dozens of men in politics, entertainment, sports and the business world who have been accused of sexual misconduct since allegations against movie producer Harvey Weinstein triggered the #MeToo movement.
Weinstein is scheduled to stand trial in New York in January on charges of rape and assault involving two women. He has denied any non-consensual sex.

The case is ongoing.
Elton John Says Michael Jackson Was A 'Mentally Ill,' 'Disturbing Person'!
Elton John is gearing up to publish his memoir Me on Tuesday (October 15) and on the eve of its release the pop icon shared an excerpt with The Independent, detailing his friendship with Michael Jackson and how that relationship changed later in life.
“I’d known Michael since he was 13 or 14,” the excerpt reads.“He was just the most adorable kid you could imagine. But at some point in the intervening years, he started sequestering himself away from the world, and away from reality the way Elvis Presley did.”
“God knows what was going on in his head, and God knows what prescription drugs he was being pumped full of, but every time I saw him in his later years I came away thinking the poor guy had totally lost his marbles. I don’t mean that in the light-hearted way. He was genuinely mentally ill, a disturbing person to be around,” it continues. “It was incredibly sad, but he was someone you couldn’t help: he was just gone, off in a world of his own, surrounded by people who only told him what he wanted to hear.”
John went on to recall a dinner party he invited Jackson to, where he "looked awful" and wouldn't eat a thing.
“After a while, he got up from the table without a word and disappeared. We finally found him, two hours later, in a cottage in the grounds of Woodside where my housekeeper lived: she was sitting there, watching Michael Jackson quietly playing video games with her 11-year-old son," he wrote. "For whatever reason, he couldn’t seem to cope with adult company at all.”
LeBron James PUNKED out to China over Hong Kong protesters!
When the ball smashed into a photo of LeBron James’ face stuck above the hoop and dropped into the basket, the Hong Kong protesters cheered.
They also trampled on jerseys bearing his name and gathered in a semicircle to watch one burn.
James’ standing among basketball fans in Hong Kong took a hit because of comments the NBA star made about free speech. Fans gathered on courts amid Hong Kong’s high-rise buildings Tuesday to vent their anger.
The player for the Los Angeles Lakers touched a nerve among protesters for suggesting that free speech can have negative consequences. They have been protesting for months in defense of the same freedom that James said can carry “a lot of negative.”
The protesters chanted support for Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey, something of a hero among demonstrators in the semi-autonomous Chinese territory for having tweeted on Oct. 4 in support of their struggle, infuriating authorities in China.
What the crowd of approximately 200 people chanted about James wasn’t printable.
“People are angry,” said James Lo, a web designer who runs a Hong Kong basketball fan page on Facebook. He said he’s already received a video from a protester that showed him burning a No. 23 jersey bearing James’ name.
He expects more, given the backlash from protesters who’ve been regularly hitting the streets of Hong Kong and battling police because of concerns that the international business hub is slowly losing its freedoms, which are unique in China.
“Students, they come out like every weekend. They’ve got tear gassed and then they got gun-shot, like every weekend. Police beating students and then innocent people, like every day. And then he (James) just comes up with something (like) that. We just can’t accept that.”
James made his comments in response to a question about whether Morey should be punished for his tweet that reverberated in China and had consequences for the NBA.
“Yes, we do have freedom of speech,” James said. “But at times, there are ramifications for the negative that can happen when you’re not thinking about others, when you only think about yourself.”
He added: “So many people could have been harmed, not only financially but physically, emotionally, spiritually. So just be careful what we tweet and what we say and what we do. Even though yes, we do have freedom of speech, it can be a lot of negative that comes with it.”
NBA players weren’t made available before or after games in China, which CCTV didn’t broadcast, and several companies and state-run offices reportedly severed their ties with the NBA over Morey’s tweet and the league’s response to it.
Protesters said James’ comments smacked of a double-standard, because he’s used his clout as a sports headliner to press for social causes in the United States.
“Please remember, all NBA players, what you said before: ‘Black lives matter.’ Hong Kong lives also matter!” one of the protesters, 36-year-old office worker William Mok, said in addressing the applauding crowd.
Others said LeBron’s comments made it seem that he’s more worried about money than people.
“James was trying, you know, to take a side, on the China side, which is like ridiculous,” said Aaron Lee, a 36-year-old marketing director. “He was being honest, financially. Financial is money. Simple as that. LeBron James stands for money. Period.”
Justin Timberlake Says The Music He Worked On With Lizzo Is 'Flames'!
When Justin Timberlake shared a video of him collaborating in the studio with Lizzo back in August, fans didn't know what to think. Now, several months have passed and we can't say we know any more about what exactly the two artists have planned. What we do know, however, is that the music they've been working on is "flames." And those are Timberlake's words, not ours.
While catching up with ET for Monday's (October 14) episode, the "Can't Stop the Feeling" crooner opened up about wanting to work with newer artists who've really made a splash in the industry in a relatively short amount of time. "I just called my publishers and I said, 'You know, I just want to work with young, fresh people, and I want to collaborate more," he said. "I've been songwriting and producing for so long — I want to experience that energy, and I want to work with people that I think are truly amazing."
First on his list? Lizzo. And when he approached the "Truth Hurts" songstress when they met at the Songwriter's Hall of Fame about potentially working together on a song, the two brainstormed. "I think she thought I was lying, but we got in and we got a couple of ideas," he said, remaining generally tight-lipped about the project. "I'm not going to tell you too much about what we did together in the studio. If she wants to tell you she can, but it's flames. It is so good. I am so excited about it."
Timberlake isn't the only one who's stoked about their collab. Lizzo is, too. After Timberlake posted the clip of them in the studio together, the "Good As Hell" singer opened up to ET in August about what it was like working with the pop icon. "I had fun doing it," she said. "Collaborations, for me, is about the energy and the relationship. I mean, it is Justin Timberlake, so I am not trying to be like, 'Ahh, I didn't have a good vibe with Justin Timberlake.'"
From the sound of it, though, it doesn't seem possible to not vibe with Timberlake in such a creative space. "We had a lot of fun, we laughed a lot, he's got great energy," she said. "And so do I, and so, hmm, whatever we do will be made from love and made from fun. He gets lit in the studio. He goes crazy. He was like, 'Turn up!' It's his world, we're all kind of living in it."
As for what else Timberlake has up his sleeve, well, let's just say Lizzo isn't the only musician he's collaborated with recently. "I worked with SZA the other day and just worked with Meek Mill," he said. "I'm having these experiences that are fueling me in such a different way and, again, I think it was really birthed out of feeling like, what can I do right now to just be a part of my community and integrate." Sounds like we have a lot to look forward to!

White Middle School Teacher Who Called Black Parent The N-Word Placed On Leave Without Pay!
A white female teacher at a Pennsylvania middle school is on administrative leave without pay after a video of her calling a Black parent racial slurs was posted online.
The white, female teacher at Drexel Hill Middle School was recorded calling a Black father racial slurs and other racist language after the two reportedly got into a fender bender in the school’s parking lot.
The video that was posted on Facebook seems to begin after the accident with the man saying, “I guess she’s done cursing and screaming.” The woman then turns to him as she rubs the bumper of the truck she was driving. The woman can then be heard saying the man is “probably on welfare too.” In turn, The man says, “Not even a little bit. Six figures a year, ma’am.” The teacher then says, that’s BS. “It’s because I’m young and I’m black, the reason why you would say that,” he says. “That’s right, because you’re black,” she replies, as she continues to rub the bumper. “Probably on welfare,” he says, repeating her words. “That’s right,” she answers. “Always looking to milk the system. And you see me, a white woman, so you think I got money.” “Not even a little bit. Don’t even look like you got it,” he says. “Not even a little bit.” “Go back to your welfare, to your Section 8 house,” she responds.
The woman then insults the man’s car, and he tells her the size of his home. The two share more back and forth, and then the man says she’s “mad and nervous.” Immediately after, the woman calls the man the N-word, to which the man questions the woman to repeat what she said. “I’m sorry?” “You heard me,” she says.”This situation can change real quick,” he says. The woman then says, “Oh yeah?” and begins to walk towards him and tells him to “Bring it on.” After a few steps, the woman turns back to her car, and the video ends after 99 seconds, with the woman calling him a “freaking f*g.”
Upper Darby School District Superintendent Daniel McGarry said the teacher’s remarks were “deeply, deeply troubling.” The woman who has not been identified has served the school for eight years. “Right now, this person is on administrative leave without pay,” McGarry told CNN. “We’re going to pursue it vigorously. The next steps are the staff member can elect arbitration.” McGarry said he has met with the teacher, her representation, and the parent. “My recommendation is that we shouldn’t tolerate this in our school and in our district, I can’t go into more detail than that,” he said. He has not confirmed if the teacher will be fired.
