#HipHopNews: J. Cole Reveals ‘The Fall-Off’ Album Release Date & Artwork
J. Cole‘s new album The Fall-Off is officially around the corner.
Catching the hip-hop world by surprise on Wednesday (January 14), the Dreamville rap star announced that his long-awaited seventh album will be released on February 6 — just over three weeks away.

The news came via a short cinematic trailer that narrates the concept behind the title and also includes a snippet of an unreleased song.
“Everything is supposed to go away eventually,” a voice says over shots of J. Cole cleaning his Lamborghini at a car wash and eating a meal on his own at a diner. “You see this especially in show business with famous actors or musicians. And it’s like, ‘Oh, this guy used to be famous and then he ‘fell off.’ What happened?’

“And they want to point to, ‘They did this and this and they made some sort of mistake.’ Instead of thinking that, look, it’s kinda crazy they got famous in the first place. So few people reach that level that yes, of course, it’s not gonna last forever because somebody else has to take that spot.

“And that’s how show business has been since forever. But no, they always want to say, ‘That guy fell off.’ They want to look down on him for just going through the natural cycle of rising and falling.”
The video closes out with a 30-second preview of a hard-hitting, southern-flavored track on which Cole raps: “Picture my soul climbing out of the infinite hole / Where n*ggas die over pride and live for the” — before it cuts off in a flurry of gunshot sounds.

Jay-Z Awarded $120k In Paternity Case Against Rymir Satterthwaite

Jay-Z has scored a victory in the years-long legal battle against Rymir Satterthwaite and his godmother, Lillie Coley.
In an exclusive report with AllHipHop, a federal judge has ordered the godmother of Rymir Satterthwaite to pay Jay-Z over $100,000 in attorney fees.

The amount, roughly $119,235.45, brings the long-running paternity dispute to a definitive close. Under California’s anti-SLAPP statute, Coley  “shall take nothing” from Jay-Z.
The six-figure payout arrives after years of Satterthwaite and his legal guardian and godmother, Lillie Coley, seeking a DNA test from Jay-Z.
In the lawsuit, both Coley and Satterthwaite alleged that JAY-Z impregnated Wanda Satterthwaite in the 1990s. Wanda Satterthwaite originally filed her lawsuit for child support in New Jersey in 2010, but Coley took over for Satterthwaite after she became terminally ill.

The lawsuit was dismissed in 2012 after a judge determined it was filed in the wrong state. Coley and Rymir refiled in 2014 but the case became public in 2015 after they claimed Hov lied in order to get out of taking a DNA test.
Coley alleged that Hov suppressed evidence, stole records, and “negligently” concealed and misrepresented “material facts concerning his minimum contacts with the State of New Jersey.”

The legal battle continued for ten years with several motions to dismiss and amend the legal complaint. In 2023, Satterthwaite filed a federal paternity lawsuit against Hov but later withdrew for reasons unknown.
“I have not stopped my fight, I did withdraw my case, but it’s for a reason,” he said at the time. “I have not gotten a settlement. It is not over.” The legal battle didn’t end there, however.”

Jay-Z’s attorney’s responded to the motion writing, “The fabricated allegations and claims have been addressed—and rejected—in multiple other courts.” They continued, “Plaintiff’s continued harassment of Defendant and disregard of those orders has already resulted in a contempt order.”

My advice is always just to find what nobody else is doing and what space you’re filling. And to also think about yourself because it really does start with you. Then find the community to build around that.”

Gervonta Davis Wanted By Police Over Alleged Domestic V!olence Incident; Ex Claims He Attacked Her At Club & Dragged Her To Parking Garage In Kidnapping Attempt
Authorities in Miami are searching for Gervonta Davis. Miami Gardens Police issued an arrest warrant for the WBA lightweight champion on Wednesday (Jan. 14) in connection with an alleged dome$tic v!olence incident that reportedly occurred on Oct. 27, 2025. According to authorities, Davis is wanted on charges including battery, false imprisonment, and attempted kidnapping.

Police say the alleged incident took place at a gentlemen’s club in #Miami Gardens, where the woman told officers Davis beat her in a back room before dragging her against her will into a parking garage, where the a$$ault allegedly continued. Officials say the woman was ultimately able to escape before being forced to leave with Davis, and security footage reportedly corroborates her account.

Tyler Perry’s ‘Joe’s College Road Trip’ trailer sets up a wild Madea universe detour
Joe steps into the spotlight for the first time in Joe’s College Road Trip, a Netflix comedy premiering Feb. 13.
The film pairs Joe with his grandson B.J. for a cross-country college tour that quickly unravels into chaos.
Perry continues his Netflix streak following previous releases like Madea’s Destination Wedding, and Straw.

Tyler Perry is putting the spotlight on one of the Madea universe’s loudest scene-stealers. On Tuesday (Jan. 13), Netflix unveiled the first trailer for Joe’s College Road Trip. The new comedy follows Madea’s infamous brother, Joe, as he turns a simple campus visit into a full-blown disaster.

Set to premiere Feb. 13, the film finally gives Joe a leading role after stealing scenes in several others. Perry once again plays the character, pairing him with Joe’s sheltered grandson B.J. (Jermaine Harris) for a cross-country trek that quickly swerves off course. In the trailer, Joe’s unfiltered mouth and zero-plan decision-making collide with B.J.’s nerves, creating a string of detours, mishaps, and escalating tension that plays like a road-trip comedy with no brakes.

Joe’s College Road Trip continues Perry’s ongoing partnership with Netflix, where he writes, directs, and produces projects that move between comedy, drama, and thrillers. The collaboration has already delivered major streaming wins: Madea’s Destination Wedding spent four weeks on Netflix’s Global Top 10 Movies (English) list, while Straw, starring Taraji P. Henson, ranked in the Top 10 in 93 countries and hit No. 1 in 62.

Perry directs and writes Joe’s College Road Trip and also produces alongside Angi Bones. Amber Reign Smith and Ms. Pat co-star. According to the official logline, Joe takes the trip to teach B.J. about “the real world,” but tensions rise as the miles stack up and the lessons come the hard way.

While Joe gets the starring lane this time, the pending release further solidifies Perry’s long-running impact as a franchise builder. Madea first hit the big screen in 2005, and the character’s extended family has since powered a comedy empire across film, TV, and stage, with Perry serving as both the face and the engine behind it.

Brian Austin Green Reveals Private Romance With Tichina Arnold, Shares How Their Secrecy Impacted Him

Brian Austin Green is opening up about an private romance he had with Martin actress Tichina Arnold.
He spoke out about her wanting to keep their relationship a secret, and his feelings about this, on a new podcast episode. He was allegedly in his early 20s at the time. Today, Brian is 52 and Tichina is 56.

“Tichina, she was doing Martin at the time when I was doing 90210. She was singing. I was producing. So, I became friends with her and Tisha [Campbell] quick. That was an easy friendship. Tisha’s amazing also,” he said on Dean Cole’s Funny Knowing You podcast. “So then Tichina started coming by the house and I was just playing beats, and I was like ‘Oh yeah, let’s work on some stuff.’ And we were doing that and then we ended up, because we were working together, we were around each other all the time, we just got along really well. So we ended up fooling around and kind of dating.”

“I think coming from Martin, she was very clear…she was very clear on day one that, ‘Nobody can know about this.’ So… I was in my early 20s, I was living in a culture that wasn’t accepting of me but there was no way to get out of it because that was just where my brain and my heart were,” he continued.

He said, “So I was really insecure and then I have someone who I’m really attracted to who’s telling me like, ‘you can’t tell anybody.’ I think for me it really triggered something, like, ‘I’m not really good enough for any of this. You don’t even want your friends to know that you’re hanging out with me.’”

About if he wanted to go public with it, he said, “I wanted to in the beginning for sure and then I quickly felt like, ‘Oh okay….I have to shut the f— up, you know, and sit in the back of the car like I’m happy to be in the car.”

He added that she and him attended Regina King‘s wedding together in Jamaica, but he still felt insecure. “And I then still felt insecure and weird out with her, and I had that thing of like people are looking at me funny, or they’re wondering, ‘Why the f— am I here or who does this guy think he is?’ So I was mind-f—ing myself during that time period.”

Tichina actually spoke out on an earlier episode of the same podcast about the end of their romance.
“I told him, I said, ‘The reason why we’ve come to the end of our road, because I know I see you dating all these Black women now, you’re dating me and you’re not going to end up with a Black woman,’” she said. “‘You’re going to share your riches and your legacy with someone White. And so I’m getting off this train.’”

She added, “He was a good human being. And I think in life I had to experience that, so I know what the other side is.”

Ludacris and Nelly are receiving criticism. The hip-hop superstars will be joining Kid Rock among other acts at Rock the Country Festival, touring eight cities stateside later this year in celebration of the country’s 250th anniversary.

“It’s this simple. Rock The Country isn’t just a music festival; it’s a movement,” Kid Rock said in a statement, per Loud Wire.
“In 2026, as America celebrates its 250th anniversary, this is a place for hard-working, God-fearing patriots to gather as one and celebrate freedom, music and the party of the year.”

Fans on social media have spoken out against Nelly and Luda for joining the festival, given the festival’s pro-Trump leanings, including vocal MAGA supporter Kid Rock.
“Ludacris and Nelly playing this MAGA Nazi fest is hilarious,” one popular tweet reads.
The tour will hit 8 “small towns,” including Bellville in Texas, Hastings in Michigan and Ashland in Kentucky.

Kanye West Fails To Derail Lawsuit Over $57 Million Malibu Mansion

The wild story of the Tadao Ando-designed Malibu home that Kanye West bought for $57.3 million in 2021, stripped to its concrete shell and later sold at a steep loss, took another turn on Thursday when a judge rejected the rapper’s attempt to block legal claims by a construction consultant who says he was placed in “extreme danger” on the project.

At a court hearing, a Los Angeles County judge rejected West’s effort to severely narrow the labor lawsuit filed in 2023 by Tony Saxon. West, who now goes by Ye, had argued that Saxon should be barred from recovering any construction-related payments, including an alleged fee of $20,000 per week, because Saxon was not a licensed contractor. In his ruling, the judge said the challenge was premature, finding that Saxon’s claims had been adequately pleaded and that any questions about licensing were for a jury to decide.

He said the case would remain on track and proceed to trial on March 2. When the judge asked Saxon’s lawyer if a mediation meeting in the meantime might be helpful, the lawyer said it was worth a shot. The attorney agreed to contact Ye’s lawyers, who didn’t even appear at the Thursday hearing, to set one up.

In his lawsuit, Saxon said Ye hired him in September 2021 to manage renovations on the architecturally significant beachside home originally designed by Ando, a Pritzker Prize–winning Japanese architect. Saxon said he agreed to oversee the work while living at the site, providing around-the-clock security. Saxon was promised $20,000 a week, the suit says, but received only a single payment as he spent the next two months sleeping at the construction site without a bed and struggling to meet what he described as Ye’s increasingly extreme demands.

On Nov. 5, 2021, during a team meeting, Ye allegedly ordered Saxon to remove all electricity and windows from the house, according to the complaint. Saxon said he objected, warning that the request posed “extreme danger.” Ye allegedly insisted on bringing large generators inside the home to continue the work, creating what Saxon described as a serious fire hazard. When Saxon refused, Ye purportedly threatened him, told him he would become “an enemy,” and ordered him to “get the hell out,” effectively ending his role on the project that would later draw intense scrutiny.

In an Instagram post, Saxon said Ye’s vision for the home was “open concept BUT off the grid.” He said Ye wanted a bomb shelter in the basement and “NO ELECTRICITY NO WINDOWS NO PLUMBING and NO STAIRS!!!” Saxon alleges he injured his back during the project. His lawsuit is seeking unpaid wages, medical expenses, and damages related to lost earnings and emotional distress.

Ye’s lawyers did not respond to a request for comment. Last week, Ye and his lawyers filed a separate lawsuit against Saxon, alleging he and his lawyers “wrongfully” placed a $1.8 million lien on the mansion “while simultaneously launching an aggressive publicity campaign designed to pressure Ye, chill prospective transactions, and extract payment on disputed claims already being litigated in court.”
The lawsuit cites a statement that Saxon’s lawyer, Ronald Zambrano, gave to Business Insider in January 2024 that said, “If someone wants to buy Kanye’s Malibu home, they’ll have to deal with us first. That sale cannot happen without Tony being paid.” Attempts to reach Zambrano and his co-counsel on the case were not immediately successful on Thursday.

A judge released Saxon’s lien last July, ruling that he didn’t enforce it, but Ye claims the matter caused him “substantial damages.” He claims he was forced to buy a bond from an insurance company to move ahead with a sale. Overall, the lien had the effect of “discouraging” prospective buyers and lenders, as well as “increasing perceived transactional risk, and inviting speculative reporting about [Ye’s] finances and the property’s marketability,” the lawsuit alleges.
Ye eventually sold the house for $21 million in September 2024. The buyer, Steve “Bo” Belmont, told the Los Angeles Times that his goal was to restore the architectural gem, “to make it as though Kanye was never there.”

Federal Indictment Alleges College and International Players Took Bribes to Manipulate Games
A federal indictment just pulled back the curtain on a years-long betting operation that prosecutors say quietly warped the integrity of college and international basketball.
Former college All-American Antonio Blakeney is among 17 players named in a sweeping point-shaving case tied to manipulated games in the NCAA and the Chinese Basketball Association. The indictment, unsealed Thursday in Philadelphia, outlines a scheme that allegedly ran from September 2022 through February 2025 and targeted sportsbooks and everyday bettors alike.

According to prosecutors, players accepted bribe payments to intentionally underperform, ensuring their teams failed to cover betting spreads. Fixers behind the operation then placed large wagers on those same games. “The sportsbooks would not have paid out those wagers had they known that the defendants fixed those games,” the indictment states.

Twenty people are named in total. Among them are players who allegedly agreed to shave points in exchange for cash, as well as organizers who coordinated bets. Prosecutors say bettors were kept completely in the dark. “The defendants defrauded sportsbooks, as well as individual sports bettors, who were all unaware that the defendants had corruptly manipulated the outcome of these games that should have been decided fairly,” the indictment said.

Two players, Cedquavious Hunter and Dequavion Short of New Orleans, were previously sanctioned by the NCAA in November for related conduct. Prosecutors allege Marves Fairley and Shane Hennen recruited Blakeney, offering between $10,000 and $30,000 per game, sums they say exceeded typical NIL earnings. After profiting overseas, the group allegedly expanded into NCAA men’s basketball.

Blakeney is named but not charged. The indictment details 29 games prosecutors say were compromised, with some defendants facing charges in other jurisdictions as the case continues to unfold.

Trump Says “We Shouldn’t Even Have an Election” When Asked About 2026 Midterms

Donald Trump is once again at the center of controversy after saying the United States “shouldn’t even have an election” while discussing the 2026 midterm elections.
The comment was made during an interview with Reuters focused on the political reality that the party in power often loses seats during midterms. As Trump spoke about his administration’s accomplishments and the challenges Republicans could face in 2026, he suggested that holding an election should not even be necessary.

The statement immediately drew attention because elections are a required part of the U.S. political system and cannot be canceled or bypassed by any sitting president. While Trump did not announce any plan to interfere with the midterms, the wording alone sparked concern and criticism across social media and political circles.

Shortly after the comment circulated, members of Trump’s team attempted to downplay it, describing the remark as exaggerated rhetoric rather than a literal position. Still, the statement added to long-standing criticism of Trump’s approach to elections, especially given his history of challenging election outcomes and publicly questioning the legitimacy of voting processes.

The 2026 midterm elections remain scheduled and unchanged, with voters set to decide control of Congress as required under federal law. No official actions have been taken to alter the election process.
As the political temperature continues to rise, Trump’s comment has become another flashpoint in a broader debate about leadership, accountability, and the role elections play in American democracy.
