Keke Wyatt Covers ‘Rolling Out’ Magazine, Talks Confidence, New Album & More
R&B diva Keke Wyatt is riding high following the release of her 4th studio album Rated Love.

The songstress now covers the latest issue of “Rolling Out” magazine with an introspective, honest interview about her silly personality, lack of confidence in her image, being a great mother, new music, releasing her album on her own independent label and more.

Rated Love is available on iTunes now. Check out excerpts from the new interview below.

ON BEING SILLY: “When you grow up in a rough home, rough situations, you learn how to be silly. You know what I mean? I kind of don’t have time for the serious stuff because that’s all you live in. I get real silly when I’m shy. I get real silly when I don’t know what else to do. I get silly when I’m nervous. But I get way different when I’m pissed or I’m hurt. … The nervous part is when I’m silly, goofy, trying to cover up.”

ON HER LACK OF CONFIDENCE: “Can’t find it. I don’t know why. As God is my witness, even with singing I’m just not confident. Like if somebody said. “Keke sing ‘His Eye Is on the Sparrow,’ ” and I’ll sing it. But the whole time I’m wondering, “Ugh, do they hear that?””

ON BEING A GREAT MOTHER: “I have confidence in being a mother. Now, I’m very confident in that and my family, and showing my love. And my compassion and taking care of my family and working like a monster and making sure that everybody has what they need and want. Even if I don’t get anything, I don’t care. So, I’m confident in the fact that I’m a great mom. And a good daughter, and a good sister, and a good wife, the best wife I can be without being a wench.”

ON NEW ALBUM, BEING INDEPENDENT: “It’s my soul. It’s who I am. It’s what makes me whole. It’s what makes me me. I’m so excited because I’m putting my new album out on my own label, which is Aratek Entertainment … It’s my name [Ke’Tara] spelled backward. … [With the label], I’m able to put my own project out. I don’t have to worry about other labels, and what they think … It’s my thing. I can sing what I want. I can come in when I want. I can do what I want to do. The only thing is that I have to pay for everything. But, at the end of the day, I’ll get all of that back plus triple. So, it really doesn’t matter … With my music, I wrote everything, I sang everything. It just feels really good to be able to express myself. Another way to let my light shine is through my music because it truly comes from within, from the heart.”

#RHOA: NeNe Leakes Poses In A Bikini; Shares Diet And Weight Loss Tips; Talks RHOA Season 9
NeNe Leakes has taken Sheree Whitfield‘s advice to fix that body! After working hard to get in shape, NeNe posted some revealing bikini pics for us all to enjoy. NeNe also shared her weight loss journey. Cause on Bravo – you ain’t nobody if you ain’t got no journey!
NeNe credited her busy schedule and her lack of portion control for her weight gain, adding, “Well, you know, I’m a funny eater.”
“My biggest problem has always been and will always be that I work all day and forget to eat and then I eat late at night with some cocktails,” NeNe told E!.
The Real Housewives Of Atlanta star’s advice for weight loss is to know your weaknesses and watch that plate overload. “Having to deprive myself of anything is a no-no for a girl like me!” preached NeNe. “It’s all about being mindful about what we eat and PORTION CONTROL. That’s the key…because hunni, we like to eat!”
Also, according to NeNe the camera really does add 10 lbs, “A lot of people when I meet them, they say, ‘I thought you were this big woman.’ I’m, like, ‘I’m curvy, honey, but I am not real big.'”

So, NeNe has shed the weight, but has she shed her Housewives title? Right… NeNe quitting RHOA is like Kenya Moore telling the truth, aka when wigs grow wings and fly.
Yet again, NeNe is pretending she “doesn’t know” if she’ll be back for the 9th season of Real Housewives Of Atlanta, which is supposed to start filming soon.
“I don’t know if I’m gonna be there full-time for season 9,” admitted NeNe, “but I always like to say to people that Bravo and the Housewives helped launch my career, so I will always be loyal to them and be there in some capacity.”

#EMPIRE: Jussie Smollett not leaving Empire after cliffhanger episode
Jamal Lyon’s days aren’t numbered after all, even though Empire actor Jussie Smollett hinted at his departure via Twitter Thursday.
However, EW has learned Smollett is not leaving the show and remains under contract.

The tweet followed up Wednesday’s cliffhanger episode of Fox’s hit music drama, during which Smollett’s character was shot and rushed into surgery.
As of Thursday morning, more than 2,000 fans had retweeted the message as Twitter users asked what it signaled for his character Jamal’s future. Smollett has been a fixture on the show since its debut in 2015, playing Cookie Lyon (Taraji P. Henson) and Lucious Lyon’s (Terrence Howard) gay son who transforms into a music superstar.

A rep for Smollett and Fox have not yet responded to a request for comment.

NEW MUSIC: ERYKAH BADU – COME AND SEE ME (PND REMIX)
YESSSSS! Badu Badu BADU!

A favorite amongst a slew of artists, PARTYNEXTDOOR‘s latest hit “Come and See Me” featuring Drake has now gotten the remix treatment from none other than Erykah Badu.
Labeling it an official duet between the two artists, the soulful songstress takes the side of the woman PND is calling out to, as they go back and forth about hooking up and spending time together.

“You hit me up like do you want to hang right now? / I’m on the south side up on Martin Luther King right now / Do you own a watch do you know what time it is right now? / It’s after 2 AM and that’s asking a lot of me right now,” she sings.
Badu shouts out the class of 2016 with the release of the remix. “THIS 1 IS 4 THE CLASS OF 2016,” she wrote.

New Hip Hop: Stream Chance the Rapper’s Mixtape ‘Coloring Book’
Chance the Rapper is opening his Coloring Book.

After much anticipation, the Chicago MC has officially unveiled his third mixtape, which previously went by the name Chance 3.
Following 2012’s 10 Day and 2013’s Acid Rap, Coloring Book delivers on the promise the Chicago spitter made on Kanye West’s “Ultralight Beam.” “I met Kanye West, I’m never going to fail / He said let’s do a good ass job with Chance 3,” Chano rhymed on the track. “I hear you gotta sell it to snatch the Grammy / Let’s make it so free and the bars so hard / That there ain’t one gosh darn part you can’t tweet.”

The 14 tracks are full of A-list collaborations including Kanye West, Justin Bieber, Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz, Young Thug, Lil Yachty, Future, Jay Electronica, T-Pain, Kirk Franklin, and more.

During a recent Complex cover story, the recently hospitalized rapper also promised that this project would be better than his collaborative effort Surf, which he crafted with Donnie Trumpet and The Social Experiment last year.

“This stuff is way better than Surf,” he said. “I’ll say that on record. Donnie [Trumpet] is awesome, and the project was awesome, but this is all of us focusing our efforts into some very hip-hop and very dance-y shit, and it feels good. So I’m excited about that.”

Voltron Legendary Defender trailer: Netflix reboots classic ‘80s Toon
Via EW: If you know what that means, congratulations, 1980s cartoon fanatic — you’re a step ahead. But for those who don’t remember the immortal words that marked the formation of the universe’s greatest defender, that’s okay — you’re about to get a new primer.
DreamWorks Animation is bringing back the gargantuan robot formed from five mechanical lions with the series Voltron Legendary Defender, and EW has an exclusive look at the new trailer.
The show kicks off June 10 on Netflix with an hour-long premiere, followed by ten 22-minute episodes. Executive producer Joaquim Dos Santos and co-executive producer Lauren Montgomery say their goal was to remake the Voltron show fans remember — rather than the one that actually existed.
The truth is, that 1984-85 Voltron: Defender of the Universe series was, to put it delicately, a huge mess. Back then, producers cobbled the show together from pieces of the adult-oriented Japanese animated series Beast King GoLion by cutting out some of the gruesome violence and redubbing the dialogue to create new plots that fit the action on screen (sort of).

“We wanted to make it closer to what we remember the show being versus what it actually ends up being when you go back and watch it,” Montgomery says.
“The nostalgia for the original show is what has carried it through to this point,” Dos Santos says. “People still reference it and people still talk about ‘teaming up like Voltron.’”

As fans of the American-ized version, the producers say they were surprised by how jumbled it was when they revisted it. “They were making the best of what they had,” Dos Santos says. “But what was there was a sense of teamwork and this amazing imagery. And our child brains filled in the gaps.”

But the producers were even more surprised by the R-rated nature of the source material. “We rewatched the original, and went back and watched GoLion. Although the imagery is the same, there are some pretty different themes in the [GoLion] stories,” Montgomery says. “It almost hews a little closer to Game of Thrones. There’s some crazy stuff that happens, and it’s pretty dark.”

“There were men slapping women, people being beheaded. It was crazy-times,” adds Dos Santos.

“But it also had higher stakes as far as drama,” Montgomery says. “So we cherry-picked those while trying to keep some of the fun lightheartedness of what Voltron was for us as kids.”
In the original American show, it was just a given that these five young space explorers were piloting robot lions as part of the Voltron team. In the new Voltron Legendary Defender, there’s a bit more explanation and backstory.
“Our characters are as unfamiliar as a new viewer would be to Voltron,” Dos Santos says. “They’re living on a version of Earth in the distant future that hasn’t made contact with alien life forms, but they’re going to the equivalent of space camp.”
They stumble upon adventure when Shiro, a senior pilot in their camp, disappears for a year after embarking on a deep space mission. He crash lands back on Earth babbling about an ancient super-warrior named Voltron.
“He has these PTSD memory flashes that are not allowing him to give the entire story away, but he knows they have to find Voltron, and some element of him is hidden on Earth, which is the blue lion,” Dos Santos says.

Many of the characters will be familiar to fans of the original show:
• Princess Allura – Kimberly Brooks (Ben 10: Omniverse, Justice League: War)
• Coran, the chief advisor to the princess – Rhys Darby (What We Do in the Shadows, Flight of the Conchords)
• Shiro, Black Lion pilot – Josh Keaton (Green Lantern: The Animated Series, Transformers Prime)
• Hunk, Yellow Lion pilot – Tyler Labine (Reaper, Tucker & Dale vs. Evil)
• Lance, Blue Lion pilot – Jeremy Shada (Finn in Adventure Time, Batman: The Brave and the Bold)
• Pidge, Green Lion pilot – Bex Taylor-Klaus (Arrow, Scream: The Series, iZombie)

• Keith, Red Lion pilot – Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead, The Legend of Korra)
The producers of Voltron Legendary Defender decided to simply roll with some of the more outlandish ideas of the sci-fi fantasy, rather than try to change or over-explain them.

“Our teens are reacting to the insane idea [that] there’s a giant intergalactic war going on, and now they’re going to pilot five lions that become a larger robot, and one lion will wear another as a … well, as a boot …” Dos Santos says. “Our characters respond to the notion that this is an absolutely crazy idea.”

Look for Voltron on June 10 on Netflix.

OH LAWD! Another alleged Prince heir comes forward
Ever since Prince’s untimely death late last month, a war has been going on between his surviving siblings over the rights to his sizeable fortune. And while his siblings are busy bickering, reports have claimed that hundreds of people have come forward claiming to have rights to a slice of the pie that is Prince’s fortune. However, new reports claim that one young girl may actually be able to claim some of Prince’s wealth.
According to media reports, an attorney named Mike Padden recently filed documents with Prince’s probate, claiming that the late music icon’s late half brother, Duane Nelson, Sr., has a granddaughter who is eligible to claim an inheritance.

The report claims that Duane, who was at one time Prince’s bodyguard, died in 2011 and that his son died in 2005. However, Duane’s son had a daughter who is now 11 years old and living somewhere in Minnesota.

Padden wants a court to vet the young girl to make sure that she’s actually a blood relative to Prince. He also wants a guardian to be appointed to look out for the girl’s best interests in the process.
Sources, however, say that Prince’s full sister, Tyka Nelson, omitted Duane from her list of siblings when she first began the probate proceedings. The sources say that some in the family aren’t convinced that Duane was really one of the singer’s blood relatives, which brings into question whether his granddaughter is a blood relative.
Well, even if Prince’s alleged grandniece and guardian prove her legitimacy with a DNA test, they’re still in for an uphill battle when it comes to claiming some of the singer’s money.
As previously reported, Tyka is going to court with their five surviving half-siblings to sort out who should get what portion of Prince’s reported $150 million fortune. Although Minnesota law claims that the siblings all have an equal share of Prince’s wealth, sources say that Tyka wants a larger share for herself. Making matters worse is the fact that Prince’s assets are frozen until a judge can determine how much the administrator of Prince’s estate should give to the late artist’s family members for living expenses.

Reports have claimed that things have gotten nasty between Tyka and the rest of her half siblings. Reports also claim that half-sibling Alfred Jackson has alleged that one of his half-siblings might have tried to sabotage his eligibility for the money by putting out a false missing persons report on him.

Clearly, this is still a messy family situation and we hope it gets settled sooner than later.

Your First Look @ Laverne Cox’s Rocky Horror Picture Show Costume
Ready to do the time warp again? I am and can’t wait for FOX’s reimagining of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. No premiere date has been revealed yet, but it’s expected to air on the network in late 2016. Most likely near Halloween, I would assume.

Entertainment Weekly got their hands on several exclusive pics from the new production. By far, the most exciting is seeing Laverne Cox as Dr. Frank-N-Further. If you’ve ever wondered what the love child of Grace Jones and Davie Bowie circa Ziggy Stardust era would look like, wonder no more. Cox’s version of the iconic alien transvestite is exactly that. Check out the costume below.
“I get tweets from people, ‘Please don’t f— up Rocky Horror Picture Show!’?” says Cox, to Entertainment Weekly. “I showed my brother pictures of me in character and he was like, ‘You were preparing your whole life for this.’?”
Definitely inspired by the original but more amped up, isn’t it? Speaking of the OG, Tim Curry who originated the role both on stage and in the film, will make a cameo as the Narrator in the new production. Glad that he’s participating in some capacity.

Steph and Ayesha Curry are selling their home and you can have it for  $3.895 Million
The Golden State Warriors' Stephen Curry is selling his luxurious California home.
The star point guard and his wife Ayesha are selling the Spanish-style abode in Orinda, California for $3.895million, according to Andy Read, who is listing the property with colleague Ana O’Byrne  of Caldecott Properties.
The five bedroom, four bathroom house is about one hour from San Francisco and was purchased by the couple in 2013 for $3.1million.
The Currys are moving to a larger home that they purchased in Walnut Creek in 2015 for $3.2million. Pictured here is one of the four bathrooms in their current home
'What we liked most was its warm charm,' Ayesha told the Wall Street Journal.
'It felt like home in every sense of the word and was extremely inviting.'
The 4,700 square foot home is equipped with a basketball hoop in the driveway, a red-tiled roof, tiled patios and balconies, as well as a swimming pool and a dumbwaiter to carry food to different levels of the house.

The couple renovated the kitchen after purchasing the home and added an outdoor kitchen and heated dining area. The home also has a putting green and its very own Syrah vineyard.
The luxurious digs also have vaulted ceilings, fireplace, two private balconies, a walk-in closet with custom built-ins, and a bathroom centered around the Victoria and Albert limestone tub, in addition to a three car garage.
The Currys are moving to a larger home that they purchased in Walnut Creek in 2015 for $3.2million, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The couple has two children, one of which was born in July.

Stephen Curry scaled heights never reached by NBA greats such as Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan and LeBron James when he became the first unanimous winner of the league's Most Valuable Player award earlier this week.

Beanie Siegel Gets TWO YEARS Behind Bars For TAX EVASION!
Beanie Siegel failed to pay his taxes for the years 2003 through 2005 and now faces 2-years serious jail time. U.S. District Judge Jan DuBois also imposed a year of supervised release after the sentence during which Beanie will payb ack taxes, interest and penalties he owes.
The IRS found that Beanie did not file tax returns from 1999 through 2002, except for a $10,000 tax payment in 2001 while he earned more than $2.2 million in taxable income for those years. So he owes $728,536 for those six years. He was not charged with tax offenses for the years 1999 through 2002 because the statute of limitations had expired. He has until Sept. 12 to surrender to the Bureau of Prisons.
But on a happier note, Beanie is back doing music. Chris Schwartz, CEO of hip-hop label Ruffhouse Records, has announced that Beanie will drop his first album for the label This Time will be released August 28. Chris said,
“We’re extremely proud to be re-launching Ruffhouse Records with Beanie Sigel as our first artist. His sentencing today doesn’t change any of that in the least. Regardless of this unfortunate situation, Beanie has created a tremendous body of work that is totally worthy of the Ruffhouse name. It’s almost ironic that the sentencing is happening on the eve of this record, because this record is about introspection and redemption. Beanie is truly one of the great lyricists in the hip-hop game. He stands tall among all the major MCs and he’s revered by all hip-hop aficionados around the world.”

In Memoriam Maria Cole, Mother Of Natalie Cole Dies
M aria Cole, the mother of Natalie Cole, the widow of singing legend Nat “King” Cole, and in her own right a Big Band singer, died Tuesday in Boca Raton, Florida, after a brief battle with cancer, her family announced. She was 89. “Our mom was in a class all by herself,” her three children said in a statement Thursday. “She epitomized, class, elegance, and truly defined what it is to be a real lady. We are so blessed and privileged to have inherited the legacy that she leaves behind along with our father. She died how she lived — with great strength, courage and dignity, surrounded by her loving family.”
Born Maria Hawkins in Boston in 1922, Maria and a sister moved to North Carolina to live with an aunt soon after her mother died in childbirth. She took voice and piano lessons as a child, and after graduating in 1938 from the Palmer Memorial Institute — then one of America’s most prestigious African-American prep schools — she returned to Boston and sang with a jazz orchestra. She soon moved to New York to pursue a music career with jazz great Benny Carter’s band.
In 1943, she married Spurgeon Ellington, a Tuskegee Airmen flyer during World War II. He was killed in Georgia two years later during a routine postwar training flight.
After performing briefly with Count Basie and swing music innovator Fletcher Henderson, Cole’s big break came when Duke Ellington hired her as a vocalist. She stayed with him until 1946, when she began soloing at New York’s Club Zanzibar as an opening act for The Mills Brothers.
It was there that she met Nat, and they were married on Easter Sunday in 1948 in a lavish ceremony in Harlem. It was only six days after Nat’s divorce from his first wife became final. The two were married for almost 17 years, until the soft-spoken singer died of lung cancer in Santa Monica in February 1965.
After her husband’s death, Maria produced a James Baldwin play, sang on The Ed Sullivan Show, created the Cole Cancer Foundation and was active in charity work.
The Coles conceived — Natalie, a nine-time Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter. She was born in 1950 as the Coles’ first child. She was followed by Nat Kelly Cole, adopted in 1959 (death in1995), and the twins Timolin and Casey, who were born in 1961. In 1949, the couple had adopted Carol (known as “Cookie”), the daughter of Maria’s late sister. Cookie passed away in 2009.
In addition to her three daughters, survivors include her sister, Charlotte; her son-in-laws Gary and Julian; and six grandchildren. A private service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles at a date to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Nat King Cole Generation Hope Inc. in Boca Raton.

WHOA!

Terrell Owens Misses Child Support Court Date, Facing Jail Time
Terrell Owens can’t seem to get things together when it comes to his baby mama drama . Owens appeared on Dr. Phil with three of his — in Dr. Phil’s words — baby mamas to try to work out some of the drama and now it looks like he’s headed to jail if he misses court again. Owens told an Atlanta radio station that, despite professional setbacks and bad investments, he’s not broke.
Still, T.O. conceded that his “circumstances have changed.” And those circumstances could change again — into jail time — if he doesn’t start making his child-support payments. CBS reports according to Atlanta’s WSB-TV, Owens is $20,000 behind on his child-support payments to Melanie Smith, the mother of their seven-year-old daughter. Smith says that Owens previously agreed to pay $5,000 a month.
“It’s a tragedy, not only that we are here today.
This is the third case she has had to file in the last year,” Smith’s attorney Randy Kessler told WSB.
Owens’ attorney David Hartin took responsibility for his client’s absence blaming poor communication. The trial has been rescheduled for July 19 and if T.O. is again a no-show he could face time behind bars.
Owens, 38, reiterated that he’s willing to do whatever it takes
“My numbers speak for themselves,” he added. “It’s not a matter of performance, I think everyone saw that my last year in Cincinnati. Once I get on the field I play football. Everything else is out the window.”
First things first: He should plan on showing up in court next week.

Dawn Richard, “Puff said I wasn’t going any further with Dirty Money….”
Fans and critics have watched Dawn Richard transform seemingly into several different facets of herself. From her inorganically matched stint with platinum-selling girl group Danity Kane to her exploration of eclectic sounds with Diddy-Dirty Money, the 28-year-old Armor On singer has now emerged as an independent artist. With that choice, obviously, comes controversy and unwarranted backlash. But while many artists may struggle to find their solo niche among a sea of sound, Dawn confidently knows who she is and has been the same all along.
“Me and Dirty Money, me and Danity Kane, it’s all the same person,” she tells me. “Puff said I wasn’t going any further with Dirty Money, so I chose to keep writing my own story.”
And she did. One that encompasses a style that resembles strength, unpredictability and resilience.
On an unofficial summer Friday, the former Making The Band star steps onto a photoshoot set ready to work. In the midst of fainting (almost) over a pair of red Marc Jacobs wedge sneakers, Richard talked at length about current “cool” pop stars, the standouts of today’s music generation and how she intends to carve out her space on the style spectrum.
“Check the track record. [Danity Kane and Diddy-Dirty Money] were always ahead of fashion trends,” she says. “We were pushing the limits in everything. Danity Kane had five lead singers, which was unheard of, wearing Heatherette; we were doing 10-part harmonies. And Dirty Money had a mogul as a leader. It’s never been your typical aesthetic.”
Nowadays, the underrated singer-slash-dancer champions a lane she feels is less traveled. Today, it seems the experiences alongside the face of Bad Boy–including meeting Karl Lagerfeld, sitting front row at countless fashion shows and being called into record with music’s top producers–play out like ancient history. Forced, essentially, back to square one, she’s looking to build something all new, all her own. Tying tribal sounds to classic R&B melodies is just another way to bridge her left-field status to the vision she hopes will be remembered.
“I want to be reminiscent of Brandy. She will always be the vocal Bible to me; I’ll be the misfit of music, the rebel of music.”
Of course, I ask about the ever-rebellious Rihanna, but Dawn quickly resists any comparison: “Rihanna is Rihanna. I want the music and the style to be daring in itself. I’m pushing androgyny with the patterns and the presence of armor. It’s not too exaggerated, that’s what the sound is. There’s a presence of strength [in the image and music].”
Almost two years beyond Last Train to Paris and a few months past the release of her latest EP, Dawn is staring down the barrel of her debut album GoldenHeart, the first installment of a trilogy. Fans can expect it to be edgier, fresher yet not one set thing.
“You can expect the unexpected with me. I’m not what you wanted or what you thought I would be. I just wanna be me–more of movie, more epic.”
